By going on one of our most popular tours, Southwest Adventure Tours will show you Utah’s Mighty 5 national parks in 8 days. Those parks are Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion. Each park will enable you to see spectacular scenery and unique geological formations all within the southern half of Utah.

We love to show off our home State of Utah, so guiding your tour in these parks and the other scenic areas we cover is our specialty. This tour is purposely designed to have a day on each end of the tour to plan travel into and out of Salt Lake City. Our tour is also customizable. Rise early to watch the sun rise over Bryce Canyon from one of its many viewpoints. Hike the East Canyon Overlook Trail for a bird’s-eye view of the canyon before exploring the main canyon of Zion National Park.

Hike and explore the Narrows of the Virgin River and immerse yourself in this oasis in the wilderness. Enjoy a short stop at the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park on your way to Salt Lake City. Return to Salt Lake City between 6:00 and 7:00 pm.

Your guide will meet you in a luxury 12-15-passenger extended high top touring van at the Salt Lake City Airport and transfer you to the Little America in Salt Lake City , Utah. A meet and greet will be held where you will meet the other guests on your Mighty 5® tour.

Transfer from the Little America Hotel to Canyonlands National Park near Moab, Utah Gaze out from Dead Horse Point, a peninsula of rock atop sheer sandstone cliffs, and learn the legend behind its name

• Hike along Island in the Sky mesa overlooking the valleys of Canyonlands National Park • Stroll the quaint streets of Moab, lined with inviting shops and galleries • Dine at one of the many delicious restaurants Moab serves up. Rugged gorges with sheer sandstone walls up to 2,000 feet high, waterfalls, hanging gardens and slot canyons combine to create the awe-inspiring Zion National Park

• Park trails offer hiking experiences for every level of activity • After a full day of activities and transferring back to the acclaimed  Little America Hotel , plan on a later dining experience this evening in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Day 7: (Sunday) Transfer To Salt Lake City International Airport

After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, unwind and relax while your guide transfers and regales you with final stories or takes the time for unanswered questions. I did all 3 tours..The 5 hour City tour on a Sunday, so saw the Tabernacle choir..a must! I also did the Copper mine and the Great Salt Lake tour. The weather was poor for the copper canyon tour, but it was lovely by the afternoon for the Lake tour! All the buses arrived on time and all 3 drivers drove with care and were really informative!

There is a lot to see during this tour, the highlight being the choir performance - visually and musically beautiful. With so much to see, our guide was a key component to making the tour the fun time it was. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job. You could tell he loved talking about his city and its heritage.

Our guide and bus driver was an excellent people person. Gave us all an indepth talk on history of Salt Lake City whilst showing travellers all of the city's attractions. He got to know where we all came from ,made us feel at ease and offered great loal advice. Overall a very enjoyable 3.5 hr tour.

Hike the majestic views of Arches National Park with a Canyonlands by Night and Day professional guide. From the vehicle, you’ll see views of famous Balanced Rock, Courthouse Towers, La Sal Mountains, Petrified Dunes, and Panorama Point. Your professional guide will access the group and hiking trails may include Balanced Rock, the Windows Section, Delicate Arch Vista (not Delicate Arch). Hikes begin in the morning to take advantage of the cooler mornings. Hikes are moderate, so you should be in average physical condition.

The beginning and end times for the Arches Sunset Tour vary with the setting of the sun. The tour is approximately four hours.

Most likely! We have a luxury tour bus we take out for groups of ten or more. For groups of less than ten people, we use a van.

The park entrance fee is included in the Arches Bus Tour price. We cannot use any passes for discounts.

Absolutely! Your guide will tailor the walking portion of the trip to the group’s needs by determining whether long hikes or a few short hikes are appropriate for the group. You will also get out of the vehicle at several viewpoints.

The trip takes about four hours and starting time varies throughout the year.   If you have questions about the exact time the trip will leave on a particular date, please call a Canyonlands by Night and Day reservation specialist at (435) 259-5261 and they will answer all your questions.

We provide restrooms at our location, which you can use before and after the trip. There are also pit toilets in Arches National Park you can use at certain stops.

Drinks and snacks are included complimentary on the tour.

Absolutely! The Arches Sunset Bus Tour is fantastic for pictures. Photographers love the Golden Hour, which is one hour after dawn and one hour before sunset, and will typically set their photo shoots during this time to catch the amazing colors. Bring lots of batteries, storage cards, or film!

Yes. You must cancel 48 hours prior to departure to receive a partial refund; otherwise your tour fee is non-refundable.

Both tours include stops along the way in which we walk short distances to overlooks and there are short hikes included in the tour. More hiking is done on the Arches Hiking Tour. If you don’t feel comfortable getting out of the vehicle, it is not required. If you have questions, please contact a reservation specialist at (435) 259-5261.

Utah Parks Circuit

We did this trip during the government strike in 2013 which meant all the National Parks were closed. Intrepid did a WONDERFUL job mitigating the situation and we still got to go camping and hiking at some select state parks. Luckily, the Grand Canyon was re-opened before our trip ended which was awesome. What a finale! Thank You Intrepid for giving us an awesome itinerary despite the challenges.

THis was my first trip with Wildland Trekking and I had no idea how challenging the terrain and hikes would be. As it turned out, everything was well within the ability of the five of us in the group. Our guide prepared us each evening for the day ahead so that we could anticipate with pleasure what lay ahead. When the going got tough, Craig encouraged and distracted us! He also prepared delectable lunches on the trail that fueled us for the rest of the day. Craig is a seasoned guide....well informed about flora, fauna, and the geology of the area' and excellent company in general. All in our group were ready to sign up for another lodge based trip after this excellent experience with Wildland Trekking. I was also very impressed with the attention to safety and other details such as good meals and nice accommodations.

Couldn’t possibly be more satisfied with the experience we had! So glad we experienced the Utah Mighty 5 with Nick and Steve of Mountainbased and I would not want to have done it any other way. Hassle and worry free, this trip was a breeze knowing all the planning and driving and chores and research was done for us. The guides were down to earth (literally haha) and funny and knowledgeable - but let me put it this way, as beautiful and breathtaking as Utah was, somehow the human connection and bonding of the group will always be the most memorable part of the trip, and Nick and Steve were integral to the energy and humor required to kindle that kind of experience.

This was my first time going on a group tour. I was a little concerned that traveling with a group might be difficult dealing with 32 different personalities. The group was wonderful, we had great camaraderie, everyone was very inclusive. Our tour guide randy was awesome. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful with directing us to the variety of hikes that we could choose. Michael was wonderful and our bus driver Russell was awesome. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would consider doing another group tour.

the best way to explore the vastness and glory of the Utah desert is by camping and hiking in small groups. I enjoyed this trip immensely, it was challenging enough but not too much. Our guide was a brave and resourceful powerful woman. I am planning my next trip with you already!

Just couldn’t have been better. Extremely professional guides Robin and Sarah were highly knowledgable, friendly and organised. Accomodation was excellent in every location (most hotels even had hot tubs and pools!) and the food options were always good. Lovely comfortable Mercedes minibus. Highly recommended to everyone - would do another tour with South West Adventure Tours in a heartbeat.
