Everything about the trip was good, including the weather, and Greg even influenced that, playing the Beatles "Here comes the sun" to start every morning. Full breakfast was good fuel for the day. Greg was enthusiastic, knowledgable, amusing, and patient with tardy guests. The coach drivers (Liam and Tommy) were superb. The porterage was a very nice touch.

Our tour guide was excellent. She has an amazing grasp of the history, customs, and sites we visited. Our only criticism is that we were rushed through the best sites because of the bus/coach schedule and there was not enough time to visit the site, grab lunch, and/or visit souvenir shops or local vendors. We had barely enough time to quickly hit the highlights and skip some of the more interesting aspects of the location before having to board the coach.

This is the first tour we have ever been on and with the expertise and knowledge that Greg has on both these countries made our trip a once in a lifetime experience! I can’t say enough about how fun it was for us because of Greg.

Celtic Highlights

Group of five Canadian women took this tour and were very pleased with every aspect of Globus. The tour director (Julie Ann) was superb, hotels were amazing, food was delicious, side tours were wonderful, each stop en route was worth it. Would not hesitate to take a Globus tour again.

Highland Experience's Scottish Choice

Chris was an excellent guide and driver of a small (12) group tour. He creatively overcame several weather-based obstacles like closed roads from landslides and no ferry due to wind. He was charming and funny. The coach was comfortable and so were accommodations. The group was 5 seniors and the rest about 25 to 35 years old. The tour hit all the highlights of Scotland's highlands. I highly recommend this tour.

Believe it or not but the UK is vast in terms of what is available to see and do whilst staying here. Some things to think about may include:

England When exploring the UK on coach trips, there are plenty of places to visit from The Cotswolds to traditional seaside resorts such as Blackpool and of course the endless vibrant cities of London, York and Liverpool. Explore beautiful gardens in The Eden Project or discover filming locations used in popular TV shows such as 'Downton Abbey' and 'Emmerdale'.

Wales It maybe tiny in comparison to its English neighbour but it packs a mighty punch with no less than 600 castles to visit from Caldicot to Dolbardarn. There's the beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion and not forgetting the great little trains of Wales where you can travel to the summit of Snowdon without having to climb on foot!

Scotland The highlight of most coach breaks to Scotland is of course the spectacular Edinburgh Military Tattoo which is held in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle every August. This is certainly a military spectacle that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. For scenic views, head into The Highlands or visit the Isle of Skye, The Orkneys or Bute. Edinburgh is also fabulous for shopping, sightseeing and 'Hogmanay' on New Years Eve.

Northern Ireland Vibrant nightlife can be found in Belfast with its vast range of bars, clubs and restaurants on hand to suit all tastes. See the Parliament Buildings of Stormont, Enniskillen Castle Museums, go angling in Lough Erne, climb Cave Hill, enjoy a pint in the Crown Liquor Saloon in Belfast and experience Northern Ireland's history with a visit to the Ulster Museum.

As a British citizen you will obviously be entitled to free emergency health care on the NHS.

If you are visiting England from outside the United Kingdom and fall ill or are involved in an accident and are from an EU country or Switzerland, you can use a valid EHIC issued by your home country to access healthcare. Please note this is not an alternative to travel insurance.  Comprehensive travel insurance is advised for nationalities planning on visiting the UK.

Crime  The United Kingdom is a safe place to visit, however, as with all countries please exercise common sense. Petty crime can occur so take your usual precautions such as not leaving luggage unattended, beware of pickpockets in tourist areas and leave valuables in the hotel safe.

Local Laws and Customs  Queuing is a British Institution - jump a queue at your own risk!

If you are visiting from outside of the United Kingdom, it is wise to check customs requirements before you travel. If you are planning to bring alcohol, tobacco or souvenirs into the country, you need to be familiar with the UK's custom laws. If you go over your allowances, you may have to pay tax or duty. It is worth checking the  HM Revenues and Customs website  before you travel.

UK Entry Requirements  When travelling between the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man you may need to show a Border Force officer a document confirming your identity. In most cases an official form of identification such as a driver's license or an armed forces identity card will be ok. However, some airlines will insist you show a passport so please check before you travel.

If you’re from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein you can enter the UK with one of the following identity documents: a passport, an Irish passport card or a national identity card issued by an EU country, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, if you’re eligible to use one. The identity document should be valid for the whole of your stay.

If you’re from outside the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you must have a valid passport to enter the UK. It should be valid for the whole of your stay. You may also need a visa, depending on which country you’re from. Please check  here  if a visa is required before you travel.

Hotel Mobility Grading

To help you choose your holiday, Johnsons provide a guideline grade for the hotel location accessibility in terms of steps, stairs, lift, hills, walking etc. The grades range from 1 to 5 and the higher the score the easier the hotel is for mobility.

Your Coach Holiday Protection

The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Therefore, you will benefit from all rights applying to packages; Johnsons Coaches will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole. Additionally, as required by law, Johnsons Coaches have protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that they become insolvent. Johnsons Coaches are members of the Bonded Coach Holiday Group, overseen by The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited.  This is a government approved consumer protection scheme.  This ensures that in relation to the coach package holidays described in this brochure (or website) that a Bond, which may be called upon in the unlikely event of the members Insolvency, protects the clients’ monies.  Clients are recommended to inspect the current membership certificate at our registered office or alternatively go to www.bch-uk.org or telephone 0207 7065 5316 to confirm current membership. Your attention is also drawn to the Bonded Coach Holiday Group Trading Charter that will apply to these coach package holidays. Booking Your Holiday Coach Trip is Easy!

Once you have chosen your holiday, booking is easy! Call us on 01564 797000 , visit us at our offices in Liveridge House, Liveridge Hill, Henley-in-Arden, or book online! 

Your Booking Journey:

•   Provisional bookings are held without obligation for 7 days
• To confirm your booking a £75 per person deposit is required for all coach holidays.
• Deposits for all air and cruise holidays are £250 per person.
• Payments can be made by cash, cheque, debit and credit cards.
• The final balance for your holiday is payable 8 weeks prior to the date of departure. The due date and amount is shown on your confirmation invoice.
• Please note that reminders are not sent. The balance due dates on air holidays is 10 weeks prior and for cruise holidays 18 weeks prior.
• Our Trading Charter will be sent with your confirmation.
• You will receive your Holiday Travel Pack 7 to 10 days prior to your holiday. This will contain luggage labels, your home pick-up time, hotel address and telephone numbers and any extra information regarding your holiday.
• On the day of your holiday, pack your case and wait for the doorbell to ring.
