These tours run during peak bloom only as public options, but we can book private tours (above) on any dates. If it happens that peak bloom is earlier or later than predicted, we'll add public tours, as well.

Reservations: Tours run at 10am and 130pm daily from March 21-28, 2024. We may add some earlier or later based on how the blooms look!

DC By Foot is pleased to present our name your own price Cherry Blossom Tour. This tour will take you around the Tidal Basin in the cool shade of the city's legendary cherry trees and through some of DC's most beautiful, majestic and picturesque memorials.

Join DC by Foot as we visit the memorials that honor three great men of ideas. Thomas Jefferson, whose pen affirmed mankind's inalienable rights. This 2 hour walking tour starts the Wharf and explores springtime in this historic area - including some of the oldest residences in the district, the Titanic Memorial, and of course, the Cherry Blossoms on the Potomac River.

This tour begins outside the Waterfront Metro and ends at East Potomac Park - an easy walking distance to the Wharf!

This 3 hour segway tour is limited to 8 people per guide to ensure personal attention and easier ability to make your way through the crowds. Each tour starts with an orientation to help you get used to the machine and then you'll make your way to the memorials and Tidal Basin.

Segway tips: Wear comfortable shoes; while you're not walking, you are on your feet for three hours! Don't bring too many belongings with you. The Segways are equipped with very small bags for cameras and small purses. You may wish to wear sunscreen on sunny days, and bring rain gear and/or warm clothing for bad weather days

To maintain a more intimate atmosphere on our public tours, we intentionally limit the capacity of our tour buses to keep the average group size small. We do our best to keep large, same-party groups together on the same bus, but please remember that the seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you claim your seats – they’re reserved only for you for the duration of the tour.

Are we allowed to bring luggage on the tour?

Unfortunately, our shuttles are not wheelchair accessible, nor is there storage for baby strollers. If you have a wheelchair, please call us to make special vehicle arrangements for your tour. Some of our tours involve longer walks so if you like, you may stay on board the shuttle, near the landmark, without exiting the shuttle bus every time.

FRIDAY- depart Ashland, KY by 9:00 PM. Stop for restroom/snack breaks every couple of hours. Unwind and get some sleep!

SATURDAY- we will stop at a travel center for 2 hours to freshen up/get ready for our day. Arrive in DC around 8-8:30AM. Spend your day in DC. Bus will depart for Kentucky at 10:00PM.

SUNDAY- we should arrive back around 8AM.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS ⚠️

•All payments/purchases including deposits are non-refundable/non-transferable.

•Cancellations made by the customer for ANY reason will result in loss of seat/monies paid. Customers can re-sell tickets up until 48 hours prior to departure of the trip. If your seat is re-sold, SUBLIME TOURS charges a $50 convenience fee per ticket. All re-sells must go through SUBLIME TOURS.

•Refunds are not given due to weather, closures of any attractions, etc.

•If a trip is cancelled due to weather (regardless of it is prior to departure or during the trip en route), refunds will not be given however a travel voucher will be given.

•In the event the tour group needs to stay overnight at a hotel/other accommodation due to any reason, each traveler is responsible for all of their costs- no exceptions.

•Refunds are not given if a traveler contracts COVID-19 or gets sick prior to trip.

•Refunds are only given if the trip is cancelled by us- no exceptions.

•It is the customers responsibility to ensure they are in compliance with the destinations covid-19 policies, if applicable.

•Refunds are not given for no-shows on the day of the trip.

•SUBLIME TOURS USA holds the right to terminate a travelers trip due to any reason.

•Full balance for each seat is due 30 days prior to departure. If the full balance is not paid in full, seats will be forfeited and no refunds/transfers will be given.

•Refunds/transfers will not be given due to Covid-19 cancellations by the customer.

Mayor Bowser Announces the Cherry Blossom Bus Tour

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development announced the Cherry Blossom Bus Tour, which will take place from February 26 through March 1. A 45-foot coach bus displaying the National Cherry Blossom Festival theme of pink blossoms and the tag line “Follow Us To Spring!” will embark on a four-day, five-city bus tour starting in Boston, followed by New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and ending in DC. Funding for this initiative comes from Mayor Bowser’s FY23 budget.   “Cherry blossom season brings so much hope and joy to DC every spring, and we want more people to experience the beauty of our cherry blossoms,” said Mayor Bowser. “We love hosting visitors from around the world and across the nation, and this year our team is going on the road to help people plan their trip. But you don’t have to be on the bus to help us spread the word that DC is a fantastic place to spend your spring.”    The National Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from March 20 through April 16. Each year, the festival marks the beginning of spring in the nation’s capital and attracts more than 1.5 million people to the District. At the heart of the festival is the blooming of 3,000 cherry blossom trees along the Tidal Basin, a gift celebrating international friendship and cultural connection between the people of Japan and the people of the United States. The cherry blossom trees were gifted to Washington, DC by the Mayor of Tokyo in 1912.    The Cherry Blossom Bus Tour riders will consist of members of partner organizations, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Destination DC, Events DC, Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, and more. The delegation is led by John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.    At each stop, the team will implement curated experiential activations that celebrate the best of DC— from art to music, food and drinks, and community. For example, the bus stop in Boston’s Seaport District will host a family-friendly #ExperienceDC Cherry Blossom pop-up, with Go-Go music, DC tourism giveaways, and a workshop to create paper cherry blossoms.    The riders of the bus tour will board in Boston and travel through New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The bus tour will end in Washington, DC at the Conrad Hotel on March 1 at 11 am. At that time, Mayor Bowser and riders of the Cherry Blossom Bus Tour will attend a press conference held by the National Cherry Blossom Festival, where the National Park Service will announce the predicted peak bloom dates for the cherry blossom trees.   “When people think of spring, we want them to think of DC and come and experience all our amazing cultural events, dining scene, funky marketplaces, and unique neighborhoods,” said Deputy Mayor John Falcicchio. “We are only a short ride away from these cities in the Northeast corridor, whether by car, bus, train, or plane. DC ‘Cherry Blossom Bus’ continues tour with NYC stop

D.C.’s Cherry Blossom Bus is scheduled to pull into New York City Monday.

The bus and its team of promoters spent Sunday in snowy Boston, where they encouraged people to visit the nation’s capital this spring.

“All those folks who travel the Acela Corridor, we’ll make sure we’re in front of them and remind them that Washington, D.C. is a great place to visit,” said John Falcicchio, deputy mayor for planning and economic development.

Falcicchio said he was excited to join representatives of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Destination DC, Events DC and the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington on the tour bus.

“The bus is fantastic. It’s a newer bus — a pink bus with logos on the side that say ‘Spring it On,'” Falcicchio said. “And on the back of the bus is one of my favorite details, which says ‘Follow Us to Spring.'”

An estimated 25 million visitors came to D.C. in 2019, but two years after the height of the coronavirus pandemic, only 19 million showed up in 2022.

Mayor Bowser and the D.C. Council hope the bus tours will stimulate interest in visiting the District this spring.

“What we tell them is the best time of year to come to Washington, D.C. is the spring and into the summer,” said Falcicchio.

The pink-colored bus will arrive in D.C. Wednesday when the National Park Service announces the predicted bloom dates for the historic cherry blossom trees that line the Tidal Basin.

Whether anchoring the news inside the Glass-Enclosed Nerve Center or reporting from the scene in Maryland, Virginia or the District, Dick Uliano is always looking for the stories that really impact people's lives.
