Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour Racquet Review

Wilson Ultra 100 Countervail Racquet Main Image

Still a relative newcomer to the storied Prestige lineup, the Tour model gets the Graphene 360+ treatment. This second iteration of Prestige Tour features Graphene 360+ technology, which combines the power and stability of Graphene 360 with added SpiralFibers in the lower portion of the racquet head for a cleaner feel at impact. The solid 326 swingweight provided nice plow through and stability for our playtesters. The team also thought that this update improved the feel, and they felt more connected to their shots, especially up at net. On serves, this Prestige Tour had excellent power, which allowed our playtesters to dictate play from the start of the point. When it came to returns, our testers could either attack or block back serves with ease thanks to the extra control and stability that the racquet provided. Overall, players looking for an excellent blend of plow through, control and stability should give this new Prestige Tour a demo.

  • Improved feel
  • Underpowered at times

Bottom Line

The most user-friendly of the Prestige line, this racquet delivers improved feel over the previous version, along with good stability and control.

Strong intermediate to advanced

Groundstrokes - Score: 82

On groundstrokes, our playtesters were very impressed by the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour's improved feel, control and plow through. To her surprise, Brittany thought this Prestige Tour was quite user-friendly and suited her game. She explained, "Over the last 20 years of playing, I have always considered myself a Pure Drive-spec girl, and I always thought the Prestige family was out of my league because it didn't match up with what I was looking for in a racquet. With the Prestige Tour, my beliefs have changed. The specs, from an 11.4-ounce strung weight to a 99-square-inch head size, make it the most user-friendly Prestige I have played with. Now, it did take me a couple of hits to really gel with the frame. At first, I was hitting a little shorter than normal and didn't feel like I had a lot of pace or weight behind my ball. Once I got used to the launch angle I started to really get a good groove on my groundstrokes, especially when drilling cross courts. I loved how low my slices were staying, and they allowed me to transition from a defensive position to a neutral or offensive one. One area that I struggled with from the baseline was reaching for balls when I was in a defensive position. I wasn't getting enough easy power behind my shots, and they were landing short and getting attacked."

Jason liked the updated feel of this new racquet. He said, "I noticed the improvement in feel right away. I felt much more connected to my shots with this Prestige Tour over the previous version. As far as playability, it's similar to its predecessor. I found it easy to swing, which made it good for hitting shots on the run or picking up half volleys. The tighter string pattern didn't negatively affect the access to spin too much, but where I felt that it did was the launch angle. I wasn't getting as much net clearance with this racquet as I'm used to, which resulted in shots landing shorter in the court."

Kristen really enjoyed the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour on groundstrokes, and she liked how the racquet played overall compared to the previous model. She said, "I playtested the last model, the Graphene Touch Prestige Tour, and I definitely preferred the playability of this updated Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour. I felt more connected to my shots and found greater access to power. For a somewhat tighter 18x19 string pattern, I found great access to spin, and I particularly enjoyed hitting slice with this racquet. While it's not a shot I opt to use often, I was turning to it a bit more during this playtest. The ball would stay low over the net, and I could really drive through those shots with precise placement. I really enjoyed the weight of the racquet and how it swung through the air. It offered good maneuverability, but it also just felt very solid in hand, and I could swing through the ball with good stability and nice punch on contact. Overall, I was pleased with the playability on groundstrokes, but I did find it to have a sort of hollow-ish, tinny sound on contact, and that transferred over to some arm discomfort."

Erik needed some time to adjust to this racquet from the baseline. He described, "This racquet was a mixed bag for me. On groundstrokes, I really had to make sure I was feeling confident and relaxed when hitting my shots. Because of the 18x19 string pattern, I had to make sure I stayed low on shots and got below the ball while brushing up on the back to get the spin I desired. I also tended to aim an extra three or four feet above the net to account for the lower launch angle and to acquire the depth I was looking for. I found this racquet to be maneuverable when I relaxed, let the weight of the racquet speak for itself and came through the ball more naturally."

Volleys - Score: 84

Our playtesters felt that the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour gave them the tools they needed to succeed at net. They appreciated how solid and stable the racquet was, though there was some disagreement about the feel. Jason found the control of the Prestige Tour to suit his net game. He said, "I really enjoyed volleying with the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour. I felt the racquet lacked a bit of power and had a low launch angle when I was hitting groundstrokes, but it didn't matter so much up at net. There was still enough pop to punch a volley for a winner or put away an overhead. The great feel is what made it stand out to me. I felt like I was executing drop volleys very well because the racquet was so responsive and provided excellent feedback."

Kristen liked how stable this racquet was up at net, but she thought it lacked a bit of touch. She explained, "Moving into net, this racquet definitely felt stable for its weight. It was easy to get into position and punch volleys back into the open court in a point-and-shoot manner. I wasn't quite as dialed in on touch shots, probably due to the fact that I'm used to a more flexible frame, so the response off the stringbed was a bit different. I needed some time to adjust and get the right feel for those shots."

Always looking for an opportunity to come to net, Erik thought the Prestige Tour was very solid on volleys, but he found the feel slightly lacking. He said, "I liked how solid the racquet felt in my hand from the start, and the weight was excellent. The Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour was very point and shoot, and I felt in command of my volleys. I was connected to the ball, but I found the feel a little tinny and the sound slightly hollow. I did not particularly love how this racquet felt off the stringbed, but I liked the way it performed at the net overall."

Like the others, Brittany thought this racquet was very stable up at net. She added, "I did have high expectations when I headed toward the net. Even though I don't spend a lot of time there, I will most likely end the point there. The Prestige Tour had a perfect combination of stability and maneuverability. I never felt late when I was hitting volleys, but at the same time, the racquet was not getting pushed around. I felt Head made some strides in the right direction when it came to feel. I felt more connected to the racquet, and this allowed me to make some additional pick-up volleys and stretch volleys."

Serves - Score: 83

Our team thought the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour provided excellent precision and plow through when they were serving. Erik liked the predictable response when he went for a huge first serve. He said, "I really enjoyed hitting hard flat serves up the T on the deuce side. I had excellent plow through with this racquet on serves, and excellent control as well. I was very confident serving with this racquet."

Brittany found unexpected power from the new Prestige Tour on serves. She said, "I was a little surprised when it came to serves. The Prestige Tour had more power than I expected, and I was able to generate some nice speed on my first serve. It wasn't the easy power of a Pure Drive or my racquet of choice, but it was a nice unexpected benefit. On second serves, I had to remind myself to keep my racquet speed up to get enough spin to bring the ball down. If I got a little tentative, my second serve would drop into the net."

Jason liked the lower powered response that the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour provided, but he didn't find spin easily. He said, "The lack of access to spin hindered my serve a little. Since I wasn't getting as much spin, I felt like my serves were sailing long on me when I wasn't really snapping my wrist to maximize spin. The power level was average to slightly lower than average compared to what I'm used to from racquets of similar specs."

While Kristen appreciated the added power that this racquet provided on serves, she found that it took its toll on her arm. She explained, "I was able to really get the racquet head moving through the ball for some nice punch and pace on serves. I felt super connected to the ball and could pick my spots with high accuracy. I was starting out service points more aggressively than I normally would and could go into service games with a lot of confidence. I enjoyed serving with this racquet, but I could really feel its stiffness after service games."

 view 4

Returns - Score: 82

With a 326 swingweight, the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour performed well on returns and felt solid against even the heaviest of serves. Kristen found the mass of this racquet to serve her game well. She said, "I was impressed with how well the racquet handled pace from heavy serves. I was able to block back bigger serves with more stability than expected as well as take a bigger cut at the ball with good precision. I did have to be on my game, though, or returns would land a bit shorter than ideal."

Brittany found the Prestige Tour to be solid on returns overall. She described, "Nothing specific stood out when it came to returns. The Prestige Tour did everything decently well. I felt I could really swing through and not worry about the return launching. I could also block back first serves without the racquet twisting in my hand. Overall, the racquet did what it needed to do."

For Erik , this racquet was quite adaptable, and it held up even against the hardest hit serves. He said, "I had a lot of control and enjoyed blocking hard first serves back because of how solid the weight was. This racquet performed nicely on second serves as well. I could take big cuts at the ball and still found myself dropping it inside the lines. The racquet did lack some maneuverability when I didn't relax and tried to force the returns back into play, but I was usually able to take advantage of my chances on returns."

Looking to make his opponents play, Jason loved the precision that the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour provided him, but he found a lot of his returns landing shorter in the court. He added, "I felt like I could have and should have swung out on my returns. The lower powered response, the tighter string pattern — it all added up to allowing me to take big cuts at the ball. However, when blocking or chipping a return back, I noticed that my balls were landing shorter than I would've liked."

Overall - Score: 83

Jason - "Much better feel compared to the previous model. Maneuverability."

Brittany - "I like the control, stability and plow through. This is the most user-friendly Prestige!"

Kristen - "This Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour is stable and keeps me feeling connected to my shots while offering more power and punch than the previous model."

Erik - "I really like the stability of the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour; it is very solid. It has excellent control as well."

Jason - "Underpowered. I would like to have an open string pattern in this racquet."

Brittany - "I prefer a little more easy power and depth."

Kristen - "Tinny, hollow sound on contact and too stiff for my tastes."

Erik - "The firm feel, and I would like a little more predictability overall. I prefer a more plush feel off the stringbed. The racquet also sounds a little hollow, in my opinion."

Comparing the racquet to others they've tried, our testers said:

Jason - "The Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour plays very similarly to the previous Head Graphene Touch Prestige Tour, but with much improved feel."

Brittany - "The Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour compares to the Wilson Blade 18x20 v7, the Yonex VCORE Pro 100 (300g) and the Babolat Pure Strike 18x20."

Kristen - "Compared to the previous version, I felt more connected to my shots with this Graphene 360+ model. I found better precision and freedom to go for my targets, which ultimately allowed me to play a more aggressive game. Even though the RA remained the same, this racquet felt stiffer on contact, and I could feel the effects of that after playing."

Erik - "I would compare this Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour's solid feel to the first-generation Babolat Pure Strike Tour 18x20. Compared to my racquet of choice, the Prince Phantom 100X 305, this racquet is not as forgiving and is harder to maneuver overall. The Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour is a little more stable than my Phantom and is slightly more powerful."

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Racquet Review

head graphene 360 delta tour

Do you want more spin and power without sacrificing comfort? Then you might like this new HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Racquet Review.

The HEAD Extreme series has always focused on helping the player generate more topspin and power. It’s endorsed by players such as Matteo Berrettini  (uses older model pro stock) and Jan-Lennard Struff (uses the Pro).  The HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme racquets introduce spiral fibers for a softer, more comfortable feel. The spiral fibers improved the feel of the Prestige and Speed racquets and that’s also the case with the new Extremes. I enjoyed doing this HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Racquet review because it was a significant improvement over the predecessor. The line is overall probably a bit too lively and powerful for my liking, but the new 98 sq inch. Tour model is an interesting frame that could be a tournament weapon also for players who want a bit more control.

At the time of writing, the racquets are available in the USA and Asia. The Europe release date is Aug 20.

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Racquets  – Specs and tech

head graphene 360 delta tour

The technologies in the new Extreme racquets center on aerodynamics and string movement, two areas that will help produce racquet head speed and spin.

You can see the tech included in the pic above, such as Spin Shaft, Spin Pattern, Spin Grommets, and Power Grommets.

I really thought the inclusion of the spiral fibers in the layup helped to create a softer and more comfortable feel compared to the predecessor. Despite using all of these racquets with a full bed of poly, I never experienced any discomfort and that is pretty rare for thick-beamed power racquets.

All the focus on spin tech does create a lively feel. In some cases (I mainly noticed this with the S and the MP models) it was a bit too lively for my taste and the ball could be difficult to control on volleys and touch shots. The Tour was the most controlled racquet of the bunch and the Pro offered the best stability. But let’s go through the different models below.

head graphene 360 delta tour

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Pro

I tried the previous version a while back and had a lot of fun with the amount of pace it generated. It was also ultra-stable. The new Extremes share most of that but it definitely offers improved control thanks to the tighter string pattern and better comfort from the spiral fibers in the layup.

head graphene 360 delta tour

Strung specs of the HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Pro with Hawk strings: 334g, 32.3 cm, 327 SW.

(Unstrung specs) – See a full pic of all the HEAD Extreme racquets below.

Head size: 100 sq inches / 645 sq cm Weight: 315g / 11.1 oz Balance: 315 mm / 7 pts HL Beam: 23/26/21 mm Length: 68.5 cm / 27 inches String pattern: Tight 16×19 Stiffness : Medium Stiff Power level: CPI 400 (HEAD power scale) – relatively high

How does the Extreme Pro play?

It is the most stable of the bunch and the racquet that requires good technique to get it moving. The tighter string bed is a good thing as it was easier to get control on flatter shots than the MP. The swing weight is right in my wheelhouse and I had a hard time deciding whether I liked this one or the Tour the most. If you’re an advanced player and want a powerful frame that can offer good spin without being a complete rocket launcher, the Extreme Pro is a great choice.

head graphene 360 delta tour

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme Tour

head graphene 360 delta tour

The Extreme Tour is a new member of the Extreme family. It has a 98 sq inch head size and a thinner beam, which makes it into something resembling a more powerful Radical Pro. A larger head size improves racquet stability, so I felt like this frame needed extra weight in the hoop. My racquet in stock form strung with HEAD Hawk 1.25 came in at 327g, 32 cm balance, 324 SW . I prefer racquets in the 330 SW range and 4 grams of lead tape at 3 and 9 helped me enjoy this racquet a lot more.

In stock form, it does suffer from some stability issues. But with the extra weight, it plows through the ball nicely and held up well at the net. It’s still a powerful and spin-friendly frame, but not as much as the rest of the racquets in the line. But I would also call it a “lively” frame, quite similar to a Pure Aero VS  or a Yonex VCORE 98 .

(Unstrung specs)

Head size: 98 sq inches / 630 sq cm Weight: 305g / 10.8 oz Balance: 315 mm / 7 pts HL Beam: 22/23/21 mm Length: 68.5 cm / 27 inches String pattern: Tight 16×19 Stiffness : Medium Stiff Power level: CPI 500 (HEAD power scale) – relatively high

How does the Extreme Tour play?

The Tour is the most controlled of the new Extreme racquets and I think it’s a great addition to give something a bit more controlled for players looking for spin and power, but not the “extreme” amounts of the Pro and the MP.

The racquet’s twist weight is pretty low, which makes it a bit unstable on heavy balls. I also feel that this racquet’s swing weight should be closer to 330 to be optimal. This is a racquet for advanced players that can handle the weight and if you want a lighter racquet, the S or MP is the best choice.

My preferred string setup in this frame was HEAD Hawk Touch 1.20 at 53 lbs. I got more control, comfort, and feel with this string over the regular HEAD Hawk string. I did not get quite the same power on serves as with the Pro or the MP, but it handled flatter shots a bit better thanks to the tighter pattern and the spin potential is still more than enough. In feel, it reminds me a bit of the new Pure Strike, dampened, spin-friendly, powerful but with good directional control.

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme MP

The MP is very similar to the Pro. It has a lighter static weight and a slightly more open string pattern for even more spin. The strung specs of mine revealed an even higher swing weight than the Pro version, but the low static weight made it pretty easy to swing.

I found the MP to be the most logical choice for intermediate players. Stable, very powerful, and spin-friendly, but still pretty comfortable. It stacks up well against bestsellers like the Babolat Pure Aero and the Dunlop SX 300 . The comfort is better than the Aero and similar to the Dunlop and it offers even more spin. The issue is that if you’re a flat hitter you the ball might end up launching on you with this frame and the Extreme S.

My strung specs were: 321.6g, 33.3 cm, 333 SW.

Head size: 100 sq inches / 645 sq cm Weight: 300g / 10.6 oz Balance: 325 mm / 5 pts HL Beam: 23/26/21 mm Length: 68.5 cm / 27 inches String pattern: Open 16×19 Stiffness : Stiff Power level: CPI 600 (HEAD power scale) – high

head graphene 360 delta tour

HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme S

The S is the powerhouse of the new HEAD Extreme racquets. It is oversized, light, weighted in the head, and packs a LOT of power. I found this racquet challenging to control and I had to shorten up and slow down my swing quite a bit to get the ball within the lines. Once I did, tennis was pretty easy, just point and shoot. But any kind of finesse shots was harder to come by.

Of course, I’m not the target group of this racquet. The Extreme S is a game-improvement frame, made to give you lots of power and spin “for free”, while not making the racquet harsh on the arm. I would say this is an excellent frame for veterans and doubles players with shorter swings.

I used the racquet strung with HEAD Hawk 1.25 at 55 lbs. The strung specs were: 300g, 34.5 cm balance, 318.5 SW.

Head size: 105 sq inches / 680 sq cm Weight: 275g / 9.7 oz Balance: 340 mm / even Beam: 23/26/22 mm Length: 68.5 cm / 27 inches String pattern: Open 16×19 Stiffness : Stiff Power level: CPI 800 (HEAD power scale) – high

The new HEAD Graphene 360+ Extreme racquets are a significant improvement over previous Graphene Extremes. They offer better feel and more comfort while maintaining the power and spin levels of their predecessors. The racquets are lively and powerful and will likely not appeal to players looking for control and touch except for the Tour which is an interesting option for players who like the HEAD Graphene 360 Radical Pro , but want a bit more spin and power.

The dampening is impressive in these frames. Despite playing with a full bed of poly, I did not sense any discomfort in the wrist or elbow. I struggled at times to control the launch angle and when it came to volleys, I felt a bit lost at times as the ball at a tendency to jump off from the string bed.

I think these racquets require a fairly dead string to increase the control. I did like Lynx Tour in the Pro, but Hawk Touch was my favorite string in these frames overall. I would string these frames fairly high, around 54-55 lbs. Despite these frames feeling reasonably comfortable, I would be a bit concerned to play with a stiff, thick-beamed frame if you have arm issues.

The Pro is excellent for the advanced clay-court and topspin player who likes to hang out at the baseline and deliver bombs over to the other side of the net. The Tour is better for a player looking for more control, but getting a bit more free pace and rotations out of it than most 98 sq inch racquets.

The MP is interesting for players who want even more of “the good stuff” and a worthy competitor to the Pure Aero, while the S is more suitable for veterans and doubles players with a shorter swing.

Personally, these racquets are a bit too powerful and lively for my taste. I am more into control racquets like the HEAD Pro Tour 2.0  or the new HEAD Prestige MP so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to readers of Tennisnerd. The Tour was interesting and enjoyable, but it wasn’t a hundred percent in tune near the net.

If you are curious about where the new Extreme racquets stand in the HEAD family of racquets, you can check their power chart below. It also contains the unstrung specs of all these racquets.

Hay big fan of your yt channel. I have a question. So basically I haven’t played proper tennis in like 2 years. Rating vise I was like 3.5-4, but I suppose I’m a bit lower at the moment. Used to play with head youtek ig speed mp 300, so the question is any good recommendation on a racket I could pick up. Thanks in advance. ? Ps. There are no demos in my country so I can’t test them out.?

Thanks! I would go for the new HEAD Graphene 360+ Speed MP! Great frame, easy to use.

Hi, thank you for the review.

I have hit with both the MP and Tour, but the Pro isn’t available in Australia. I hit with more depth and spin with the MP although I like the control and feel of the Tour more. Does the Pro hit somewhere inbetween? The increased weight would not bother me, since I would add some to the MP if I bought that.

Also, how would the MP compare to the Head Speed MP?

The HEAD Extreme silo has long been the brand’s most spin-friendly performance frame. The racquets have larger SPIN grommets at the top of the head, as well as slightly wider grommets on the side, for easier access to power and spin. With the launch of new Extreme models in 2020, HEAD retires the Pro model in favor of the more user-friendly Extreme Tour. Featuring a 10.8 ounce unstrung weight, and a smaller 98-in 2  head size, the Extreme Tour is designed for players who crave control but still want spin. Spiralfibers have been integrated in the lower portion of the head to improve flex and comfort. They combine with the improved stability and energy return of Graphene 360 to form Graphene 360+ . I have tested all of the Graphene 360+ models to date, and was excited to test the new HEAD Extreme Tour.

Groundstrokes

How well the Extreme Tour handles groundstrokes directly translates to players loving or hating the frame. The frame is designed for aggressive baseliners who use heavy spin groundstrokes to create pressure for their opponents. Though the Tour has a medium flex of 66, the frame played with a good amount of comfort. Particularly on the forehand side, I found a comfort level with the Tour immediately. I loved the combination of a smaller head size and the larger SPIN grommets. The result is a racquet that plays bigger than it feels. Thanks to the thinner beam, the Tour is very fast feeling compared to the 2018 Pro version, and much less cumbersome. When I got a hold of a forehand in the sweetspot, the ball came off the strings heavy and powerful yet controlled. If I missed the sweetspot, my shots didn’t always hit their target, but the string bed did not feel erratic like some other frames. Though the 16 x 19 string pattern has the same number of mains and crosses as the Extreme MP, the Tour pattern is much more dense throughout the sweetspot.

Volleys & Serves

I do not know the exact science of the SPIN Grommets, but they seem to make the Extreme Tour an explosive serving racquet. On heavy kick serves, the strings at the higher end of the sweetspot felt grippy, and rewarded me with a healthy margin of error. I enjoyed hitting hard first serves with the Tour, and it cut through the air nicely with the thinner 22/23/21 mm beam. The trend of mobility continued up at the net. Volleys felt crisp and powerful, but with enough flex to provide easy comfort. The lighter swingweight (320) was impressive in close contact doubles exchanges, and never felt sluggish.

Feel & Comfort

With the previous generation, the Extreme racquets boasted improved comfort and a softer flex. The trend continues with the Graphene 360+ Extreme Tour, but the frame is not super flexible. The medium-firm flex was easy on the arm, and even with a full bed of Lynx Tour at 52 pounds I had no comfort issues during the test. The Tour has more feel than the previous MP or Pro model, in large part to the thinner beam and smaller head.

Another name for the Extreme Tour could be the “Extreme Control”. While it keeps the head shape and SPIN grommets as the other Extreme models, the smaller head creates a denser string pattern with greater precision and accuracy. Strings will last much longer in the Tour than they did in the MP, but you will still get the spin-friendly response the Extremes are known for. Some will lament the lack of a heavier 10.9 ounce Pro model in this product refresh, but the Extreme Tour offers a similar weight as the Pro, but with more speed. I expect former Extreme MP lovers will jump over to the Head Graphene 360+ Extreme Tour model.

Note: The playtest racquet was strung with Head Lynx Tour 1.25 mm at 50 lbs.

Head Graphene 360 Extreme – Review

head graphene 360 delta tour

Over the years, this line of racquets has always been one of the most dependable options offered by Head. The Head Graphene 360 Extreme is meant to offer a lot of power for the modern player and mass amounts of spin for those who are able to produce it.

With some improvements including better maneuverability and a more well-rounded option overall, Head is hoping that this version is the best.

Is this a true update to the Extreme line, or is it much of the same thing? After playing around with it for a while, this is how it looks.

Before going into the review, here are our overall ratings after 40+ hours of testing on court.

head graphene 360 delta tour

Out of the major strokes in tennis, serving is probably what this racquet does best . The improvement to maneuverability really helps in this regard, as there is plenty of access to power and spin. Players who hit a big first serve will not have any problems, and they might be able to get a little bit more kick on their second serve.

Being able to stay very aggressive with this racquet is something that a lot of servers love. The racquet is a little higher with the swingweight, which might make some people pause at first. However, it tends to work in a player’s advantage, as it can get a little more heft behind their serve and snap it down with ease.

A lot of the performance will ultimately come down to how a person strings their racquet, but the frame itself is meant for those who have big, dependable serves. It should only enhance the serve, and make it better overall for all types of players. If a person falls in love with the Head Graphene 360 Extreme, it will without question come down to the serving ability.

There is nothing more refreshing than having the opportunity to go big with a serve without fearing control issues. Too many people struggle to find a racquet they can serve with consistently.

It takes a little bit of time and some patience as well, but this is definitely one up there on the list. There is always the opportunity to add some weight if the feel is just a little bit off. Lead tape and putty inside the handle can take care of that.

head graphene 360 delta tour

Maneuverability once again helps out considerably with this new version of the racquet . Modern players might be tempted to stay near the baseline at all times, but this is good to come to the net, or to play doubles with.

Everything on the volleys feels extremely comfortable and solid. Players can block hard shots back with ease, and put some pace on the volley if they need to. Putting away sitters is sometimes a little easier said than done, but this racquet provides great touch to do exactly that.

Even players who are not exceptionally comfortable coming to the net all the time will love the extra bit of control they have with a racquet like this. It is undoubtedly beneficial for those looking to improve their game at the net and take control the way they want to.

Doubles players should be able to see improvement at the net as well. Being able to make split-second decisions to poach or put away shots that are reachable helps considerably. Playing doubles with this racquet, in general, will make it much easier to get acclimated.

Groundstrokes

head graphene 360 delta tour

Hitting groundstrokes with this racquet will definitely provide power and spin, but it might not be that great for everyone . While they have made some improvements, this racquet could be a little bit better from the ground.

First, a look at what has changed from the previous version of this racquet. The new version is a little easier to swing, and that whippy feel on groundstrokes is a good thing for modern players. It is easier to get a good amount of depth on shots, and pace can be picked up as well.

If a player does not naturally hit with topspin, they might feel like it is a little bit too overpowered. There are ways to dial it in a bit with a new set of strings and tension, but there is also the opportunity to just go with a brand new racquet as an option.

Customizing this racquet, in general, is pretty straightforward, but not everyone is comfortable doing that to a brand new purchase. Instead, they would rather buy something that fits a little closer to what they want.

Comfort is another thing that is a slight negative with this racquet, even if there have been some improvements from Head in this version. People hitting groundstrokes would like to have something that feels comfortable in their hands at all times. While the stability and feel are there, it could be a little more muted on certain shots.

head graphene 360 delta tour

Players really dialed in with their return will find this to be one of the best racquets out there to crush returns and turn a point into an advantage for them . However, there are also going to be a lot of people who feel like they can’t really control their shots the way they want to. That is why returning with the Head Graphene 360 Extreme is a bit of a mixed bag overall.

Just like with all the other shots, this racquet is built for a mixture of power and spin. It could certainly be a weapon that works well in a player’s advantage in the right hands. There are a lot of players out there who have had all types of success with powerful frames, and they have never looked back.

Try to adjust with the racquet as much as possible when given the opportunity. There are definitely some people who might benefit from a racquet like this, but they do not have the time to learn how to return properly. It is not that the ball just goes anywhere, but players will need to dial down their approach to get the same results.

Racquet Specs

Final thoughts.

There are so many players who struggle to develop their own power when going up against better players. Spin is also a bit of a concern, as there needs to be some level of spin to compete in the modern game. This Head racquet offers both power and spin, but it comes with the fight to make sure that control sees some level of improvement.

There is a reason why it’s used by many pro players on the  ATP Tour . Here are the top ranked players that currently plays with the Head Graphene 360 Extreme:

  • Matteo Berrettini
  • Richard Gasquet
  • Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

It is worthy of a try for those looking for a model racquet, but it is definitely not built for everyone. Mess around with the racquet a bit and make sure to try out each and every stroke. After that, people will be able to make a pretty smart decision on what direction they need to go in.

Comparing this racquet to others out there, there are options such as the Babolat Pure Aero , Dunlop CX 200 , and the Prince Phantom 100 . With all these racquets, players need to be able to provide a decent amount of their own control if they are going to have any success. Otherwise, all of the benefits of the racquet will not shine through in the end, because some of those nasty negatives will limit a player.

GRAPHENE 360+ Delta Hybrid: This much power should be illegal!

GRAPHENE 360+ Delta Hybrid: This much power should be illegal!

The Delta Hybrid racquet launches with new technology, design and a hybrid surface with even more power

It’s here! The entire HEAD team is thrilled to announce the launch of the new Graphene 360+ Delta Hybrid, a racquet with unrivaled power for smashing it out of the court with ease. This model debuts endless innovations such as its shape, design, new hybrid surface and technology, as well as a full social media campaign.

Players can still watch the entertaining “mafiosos” video, here. The entire campaign has been inspired by the racquet’s extreme power, which is presented in a fun way.

The long-awaited Delta Hybrid has been designed with an oversized teardrop shape to achieve a more aerodynamic feel. This extremely balanced racquet has its weight concentrated closer to the grip, which makes it easier to maneuver. And being softer and more compact, with less vibration and a larger sweet spot, it offers greater playability.

The frame of this model is made of carbon and Graphene 360+ for more stability and power. Plus, the surface contains a hybrid material for unique and unmatched control, and soft POWER FOAM rubber creates maximum power to smash the ball out of the court with ease.

“We are very proud of the end result. The Delta Hybrid has been designed down to the last detail by our engineers and has been well received from the very first stroke by the team of HEAD players. It also features a strikingly original design. So, it’s only fitting that such a special racquet should get an equally special launch,” says Pasquale Ruzcika, Business Manager of Indoor Racquet Sports at HEAD.

The various technologies that are included in this new racquet include:

Graphene 360+: the combination of Graphene 360 technology, which optimizes the transfer of energy, with innovative SPIRALFIBERS that add a clean and elastic impact.

Tailored Tube: each tube is made to measure for each racquet model, aiming for a variety of constructions that provide more or less rigidity/flex to each zone, as needed. In this case, the construction has been developed to achieve maximum power.

Smart Bridge: each racquet has its own DNA. Some seek control and precision while others opt for power or comfort. In developing the Smart Bridge, the goal of the HEAD team was to adapt the bridge zone to the needs of each racquet. In this model, the neck has been designed to achieve maximum power.

Optimized Sweetspot: the identity of each racquet is unique; some are characterized by control and precision while others opt for power or touch. That’s why we have developed an Optimized Sweet Spot to adapt the pattern of holes to the specifics of each racquet. In the Delta Hybrid, the holes have been designed to maximize power.

Power Foam: this is the perfect ally for maximum power. The soft rubber provides more speed for your shots, surprising you as well as your rivals.

If you’ve always dreamed of smashing it out of the court, now you can. The much-anticipated Graphene 360+ Delta Hybrid is now available in select stores and online at head.com .

I play with Poly Tour pro yellow at 23/22 kg. I’ve only added a total of 2,5 grams at 12 and of course an overgrip. It’s one of the best racquets I’ve played with in the last years, for me.

I "accidentally" bought one of these 2 weeks ago. Then I "accidentally" extended it 1/2". You can get the replacement Head pallets 'uncut', so they hang off the hairpin ~ 3/4". I glued a wood insert to the hairpin, back-filled the area around the wood & the pallet w/ silicone, stapled the butt cap on, and voila! I've also wrapped some lead around the pallet, put a little in the throat, and then a few grams at 3 & 9 to balance it out. I'm trying to match to my VCORE 98 +s...

time_fly

I hit with an Extreme Tour demo on Saturday, primarily comparing it to my G360+ Radical Pro. The ET does seem to have a bit more topspin and loop on tap, but it feels insubstantial compared to the Radical. I will probably try it one more time with a bit of lead on the hoop.

3g lead at both 3 & 9 plus 6g in handle. Full bed Velocity.

I have just bought a pair from TWE and they came in W: 303.8/303.6g, B: 31.5cm SW: 280 (great QC I would say. I requested the measuring service but all the others from the lot were also quite close!!). Any recommendations for customization on this stick? Better distributing the weight around the hoop or polarizing the weight at 12 o’clock? I was thinking of starting with 2g each at 10 and 2 and counterbalancing with weight in the trap door to keep the balance at 31.5 cm.

For its construction, the mold of the old Alpha Pro has been used , so it does not disappoint on the track. Of all the exclusive padel rackets that we have previously mentioned, this is the most complete in terms of performance and materials , with an exceptional finish.

If we analyze its construction, it incorporates graphene in the frame area along with a transparent protective to prevent damage and make it more resistant. It is not an excessively hard racket since the faces are made of fiberglass, a more elastic material. To finish, it incorporates foam rubber in the core for a soft touch and to feel the ball more when hitting. In short, it is a top racket , with excellent features for advanced players that has nothing to envy to more expensive models.

And so far our review of the best Head 2022 rackets , made up of models adapted to the needs of all players.

Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro Racket Review

The Head Speed range of rackets is easily one of my favorites on the market.

I used these rackets for the best part of 8 years and I just can’t fault them.

With the last Graphene update, Head changed the weight of this racket quite a bit, bringing it down from around 332g to 310g in this Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro version.

This change in weight really put me off at first.

I was one of those people who was wedded to the idea of a heavy racket, but time has shown me that a racket doesn’t have to be super heavy to get you excellent results.

I enjoyed how the last version of this stick played, and in the end, it came down to a tossup between that and the Pure Strike 18 x 20 that I eventually went for.

The Speed Pro, as its name suggests, has always offered players excellent manoeuvrability, but the truly outstanding characteristics of these rackets are the control and feel.

Everything came together to perfection on my forehand side when I used to play with this racket, and it combined power, control, and spin to devastating effect.

There have been plenty of updates in the Speed Pro since I used to use them, but the latest one is Graphene 360 , which reinforces the shaft of the racket and the head in strategic positions to add a little bit more pop to your game.

Head also claims that the latest update should make the frame a little bit more responsive for those players who like a more involved feel.

As someone who likes to string their racket up quite tight and enjoys a more deadened feel from a racket, this change worries me a little bit.

I always thought the feel of the previous rackets was absolutely spot on, so I was hoping that there wouldn’t be too much change in this area.

The 360 also sees a little change up to the spacing between the strings.

It remains an 18 x 20 string pattern, but the change in spacing should mean it combines some of the aspects of a more open pattern and the closed 18 x 20 pattern.

All of this should mean an extra little bit of pop than we’ve seen with its predecessors, and perhaps make it a little bit easier to play with on defense.

Another thing that slightly worries me about the latest update is its reduction in swingweight from 322 in the Head Graphene Touch Speed Pro to 318 in the 360 Speed Pro .

I loved how much stability the old Speed Pros had on contact, so I’m wondering if the constant reduction in weight and swingweight might have a negative impact on the performance.

As you can tell, I’m a pretty big fan of these rackets, so the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro has some pretty big boots to fill.

The reduction in swingweight and talk of a more responsive string bed had me a little bit worried.

Nevertheless, I took the 360 Speed Pro out with an open mind and put it through its paces.

Groundstrokes

8.5 out of 10

Groundstrokes have always been the bread and butter for the Speed Pro rackets.

They are perfect for the aggressive baseliner who likes to go after his shots with spin and control.

While the 360 Speed Pro is a little more powerful than its predecessors, it certainly bears many of the same qualities.

One thing is for certain. The 360 Speed Pro is a little bit easier to use than previous versions of this racket.

The changes to the swingweight mean that you don’t have to put 100% into every shot in quite the same way.

The extra pop and slightly easier access to spin made me feel like I could sit back a little bit and wait for the right time to really attack the point.

That’s not really my game though, and I did miss the feel of the old rackets.

The levels of control with the 360 Speed Pro were good, but the more responsive feel just didn’t quite do it for me.

I love that deadened feel you get from a racket, which to me, just gives you a little bit more control.

Perhaps these changes might have made the 360 Speed Pro more accessible to the masses, but I don’t think they will be that popular with Speed Pro enthusiasts.

I can’t say the Graphene 360 upgrade is a bad one, it just changes the balance of the racket.

It has moved more towards easy power and spin and away from its classic control.

This will suit many people who want a racket that is still slightly control oriented but also gives you a good amount of spin and power.

I certainly played pretty well with this stick. After all, it’s not too dissimilar to my Pure Strike, so there wasn’t much of an adjustment period.

The one area where I found I much prefer my Pure Strike is the feel.

The Pure Strike has a much more dampened feel and there’s a little less string movement on the shot.

This makes it a little bit easier to flatten the ball out when I step into the court, and I feel this gives me a big advantage.

I think there will be many people who have tried the Speed Pro racket in the past and not found them to their liking, but with the updated 360 Speed Pro they should certainly take another look at it.

In the past, this racket has been very control oriented, but now it will appeal to a very wide audience.

The Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro is a great example of a modern racket.

It is speedy and does everything very well without having any standout strength. You get good, power, spin, and control all from a racket that is easy to play with.

The changes didn’t necessarily suit me, but the updated Graphene 360 Speed Pro will certainly suit a lot of people.

It gives you everything you need for modern tennis and I gave it an 8.5 out of 10 for groundstrokes.

7.5 out of 10

The extra weight in the old Speed Pro rackets made them wonderful for volleying with.

The stability, control, and feel they had made an ideal mix for placing volleys exactly where you wanted them.

The reduction of weight in the 360 Speed Pro might have made it a little bit easier to play with from the back of the court, but it has made it less effective at the net.

It doesn’t absorb power in the same way as the old rackets, and this means you don’t have the same levels of control.

There were a few times during this playtest where I felt balls were flying over the baseline when I’d connected nicely with the shot and I think this is just a “(racket) weight thing”.

I sometimes get the same feeling with my Pure Strike and it wasn’t something that happened with my old Speed Pros.

The 360 Speed Pro is quite punchy at the net, which is useful when you’re trying to put the ball away.

In some respects, it doesn’t feel like an 18 x 20 string pattern racket, because you get quite a bit of power and spin from the strings.

I found this quite useful when I had an easy volley to put away, but it does mean you have to tame the power on the more difficult volleys.

At the end of the day, I’m comparing this racket to one that was exceptionally good at the net.

The changes that have been made to the 360 Speed Pro were never going to help it at the net, but in the end, it does a very reasonable job.

It’s not quite the allrounder’s racket that previous versions of this stick were, but it is certainly not weak at the net.

I gave the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro a 7.5 out of 10 at the net.

8 out of 10

I always felt with the old Speed Pros that if there was one area that was slightly weaker than the others then it was the serve.

The weight of the old rackets made it slightly difficult to keep up the racket head speed, and I found that sometimes lead to me not hitting through the ball.

Those problems have been made better by the reduction in weight, and the Speed Pro really lives up to its name when it comes to the serve.

This meant I was able to get good spin and control on my second serve, which made a big difference during points.

I was able to get a little bit more power from the strings as well, but I found that my slice serve was a little bit loose.

I tend to get a lot of slice on the ball, so I normally go for a very tight string bed to keep it from spinning out of control.

With the 360 Speed Pro, I was struggling a little bit to keep a hold of it though.

As with the rest of the playtest, the 360 Speed Pro gives you everything you could want from a modern racket though.

You get manoeuvrability, power, control, and spin in equal measures.

It reminds me slightly of the Wilson Ultra Tour, in that it does everything well, but without being spectacular in any area.

The serve was the one area where I felt like the changes to the 360 Speed Pro suited me and I did enjoy this part of the playtest.

I gave the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro an 8 out of 10 on the serve.

Overall, this is a very good racket.

It has broad appeal and does everything it needs to very well.

I do think, gradually, Head is changing the essence of the Speed Pro away from its classic characteristics, but it makes sense.

This racket is repped by their most recognizable player, Novak Djokovic, so they want it to appeal to a wide range of players.

They don’t want everyone demoing the Speed Pro because they’ve seen Djokovic use it, only to find out its quite a specialist racket that doesn’t suit them.

So, it is inevitable that the Head 360 Speed Pro has moved to more of a middle ground.

For Speed Pro enthusiasts, that might not be a good thing, but for the average player, it’s probably good news.

The changes to 360 Speed Pro mean this racket still has an emphasis on control, but, the power and spin potential have been increased.

The Speed Pro has certainly got easier to play with thanks to the changes with increased manoeuvrability and easier access to spin and power.

In the past, you were forced to hit through the ball with super-fast strokes and this encouraged a more attacking game.

With the 360 Speed Pro, it is much easier to hang back and play on the counter attack though, once again, opening this racket up to a wider selection of players.

As a racket that anyone can play good tennis with, I think the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro is ideal.

On a personal note, I loved the old Speed Pros, but who cares about me?

If you enjoy a modern racket that gives you plenty of speed, control, power, and spin, which of course, everyone does, then this is a must try stick!

I gave the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro a solid 8.5 out of 10.

A great racket that will serve you well in all situations.
