CHRIS TOMLIN & HILLSONG UNITED EXTENDS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL TOUR THIS FALL

  NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (August 26, 2022) – On the heels of their highly successful  22-city “Tomlin UNITED Tour” out earlier this year, the multi-platinum selling and multi-award-winning artists Chris Tomlin and UNITED are announcing the addition of a third leg coming this fall. The tour, named by Pollstar as a ‘Top 10 Worldwide Tour,’ will continue to welcome thousands of worshippers each night as one of the biggest Christian concert events continues with dates beginning November 3. Tickets for the “Tomlin UNITED Tour” will go on sale Thursday, September 1 at TomlinUNITED.com . Patrons can sign up now for the pre-sale at TomlinUNITED.com  

“Something powerful happens when we come together, all the streams of the church, to worship in Unity and One voice… it’s more than a concert, it’s an opportunity for us to join in the eternal praise,” shared Chris. “My prayer and belief for these nights with United is that everyone in the building, myself, the attendees, the musicians, the crew, each person working at the venue - everyone - is met by God right where they are in life and has an encounter that reminds us of the hope we all have in Him.”

The fall leg will visit a dozen major cities across the U.S. including St. Louis, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, Charlotte and more. Music critics claimed the “Tomlin UNITED Tour” was ‘more than a concert- it was a worship experience for the performers and audience’ and ‘many were so overcome by the music they were brought to tears. The outpouring of emotion was awesome to witness.’

With a combined hope that this tour will help reunite the church, Tomlin and UNITED remained focused on launching the tour throughout an 18-month delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Premier Productions is the national tour promoter and World Vision will serve as the tour sponsor. 

On September 9, Chris will release his next full-length project, Always. The title track was released to Christian radio this spring and made its live debut on the “Tomlin UNITED Tour” earlier this year. The official live video for “Always” was filmed live from Chris’ annual “Good Friday Nashville” concert event and premiered exclusively with Facebook.

Oh...my...goodness, where should I begin? My husband and I have been to numerous concerts to see many Christian artists but this experience surpassed them all!

The fact that the event was held in a church was part of what set it apart from the rest as we were able to find seats close enough to the stage to feel as though we were in an much more intimate setting. The less expansive space allowed for a much more personal experience as well, when compared to an arena. The evening started with four members gathering on the stage for a warm and friendly "get to know them" session which was fun! The music itself seemed to flow as the spirit led and the portion of the program where their pastor spoke was so inspiring! It was a mountain top experience, for sure! Love, love, loved it!!!

OMGosh...OMGosh!! What a great gospel concert!! My 11yo daughter and I attended the concert and it was her 1st concert ever and she was(well WE were)blown away. Jesus was definitely there. We stood up the whole time. Oh my..and the WORD Brian Houston preached on was soooo good and true. He was right, he was talking directly to me. He spoke about pain and how we all go through it but we need to know how to push through it because God has more for us, "There is More". My daughter want to go to Dallas which is the second place they are going and she want to go to their concert whenever they come back to Austin. I could say more....but I know you need to read other reviews!!

Blessed more than you know

First time seeing this band in concert. A lot of energy., however was really hoping to hear some of their popular songs as God of creation. A lot of repetition of songs that were unfamiliar. My husband who plays keys for praise and worship for church and Emmaus also disappointed.

Missed First band elevation worship due to construction, overcrowded roads and mismanagement of crowds at the door even though we arrived early. Casting crowns was excellent and treaty connected with their audience.

This concert was amazing. The worship songs fed my soul. Pastor Brian Houston gave a short sermon in the middle of it and it was powerful. They did an alter call which I do think could have gone at the end of the concert where people accepting Jesus as their savior could meet with volunteers who could help with next steps.

They gave everyone a copy of Pastor Houston’s There is More book. They gave everyone an opportunity to sponsor a child.

I’d go again and again. Loved it!!!

It was an awesome night of worship to our Lord and Savior. Pastor Brain spoke on "There is More". Brooke was fantastic as always! The whole worship team was great! You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in the building. I got to meet Pastor Brian and get my book signed.

Lots of energy all evening! I would highly recommend to catch this tour. Have a blessed day!

I love this group and am so dissapointed the event is sold out in Houston. Please please add a date in San Antonio on the way to El Paso!! Hillsong Worship has moved me to be more faithful. I have private praise and worships sessions with all their songs. Their lyrics and vocals, especially Taya Smith fill me with the Holy Spirit!!

Despite the late start it was a good concert. The San Jose State venue was really nice. I'd never been there before and didn't know what to expect. The sound was great. I would have liked to have enjoyed more music before it got so late. I left early because we had an hour drive home.

It was an amazing evening of worship topped of by everyone in attendance receiving Brian Houston's new book, "There is More". His words of inspiration and encouragement were heartfelt and the entire evening of song and praise made it an evening I will never forget! Praise God!

The concert was amazing no words can explain. I felt blessed and had fun the performances was awesome..... everything was good. Looking forward to see the Hillsong United again. I went to both concerts the one on Orlando first Baptist church and the one on Miami

Hinglaj Yatra Hindu festival brings mountainous region in Pakistan to life

More than 100,000 hindu pilgrims are expected to do the three-day pilgrimage at one of the faith’s holiest sites..

The dramatic surroundings of Hingol National Park in Balochistan province are the setting for Pakistan’s largest Hindu celebration, Hinglaj Yatra, which started on Friday and ends on Sunday.

Muslim-majority Pakistan is home to 4.4 million Hindus, just 2.14 percent of the population, and the ancient cave temple of Hinglaj Mata is one of the few Hindu sites in the country that continues to draw large numbers of pilgrims every year.

The journeys begin hundreds of kilometres away, mostly from neighbouring Sindh province. Hundreds of packed buses set off from cities like Hyderabad and Karachi, travelling along the Makran Coastal Highway that hugs Pakistan’s south and southwest.

But there is scant parking and vehicular access to the holy sites, so many pilgrims disembark and complete their travel by walking over parched and rocky terrain, sometimes barefoot and carrying children or luggage.

It’s a few kilometres from the main road to the mud volcano and then, from there, almost 45km (28 miles) to Hinglaj Mata.

Kanwal Kumar, 28, was visiting the temple for the first time with her husband. “We have yet to conceive a child after six years of marriage, so we are hopeful for help from the goddess,” she said. “We believe that no one returns empty-handed. All wishes are granted by Hinglaj Mata.”

While there is no ban on Hindu worship in Pakistan, openly practising the faith is not routine, as ties between Pakistan and Hindu-majority India are riddled with animosity and suspicion.

Versimal Divani, the general-secretary of Hinglaj Mata, lamented that only Hindus in Pakistan can attend the festival.

“We can visit this temple in our beloved country whenever our heart desires,” said Divani.

“But this is not the case for the rest of the world’s Hindus. I would like the Pakistani government to issue them visas so they can come here and take blessings with them. It’s good for people-to-people contact and it’s good for the economy, too.”

With a combined hope that this tour will help reunite the church, Tomlin and UNITED remained focused on launching the tour throughout an 18-month delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Premier Productions is the national tour promoter and World Vision will serve as the tour sponsor. 

On September 9, Chris will release his next full-length project,  Always.  The title track was released to Christian radio this spring and made its live debut on the  “Tomlin UNITED Tour”  earlier this year. The official live video for “Always” was filmed live from Chris’ annual “Good Friday Nashville” concert event and premiered exclusively with Facebook.

Move over, China. The world's hotel giants have a new favorite: India.

The world’s biggest hotel chains are doubling down on India, betting that the country’s rising affluence will fuel a surge in travel demand for years to come.

In the past six weeks, all the global hotel groups — including Marriott International and Hilton Worldwide — have unveiled ambitious expansion plans in India. They see a golden opportunity to establish a bigger foothold on the subcontinent in what may become the world’s third-largest economy as soon as 2027.

“I have such incredible respect for entrepreneurs who have elected to get into the development and ownership here in India,” said Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian at the HICSA hotel investment conference in India this month. “It’s not easy.”

“If you’re willing to put up with that difficulty — the barrier to entry is very high — your returns can be very high,” Hoplamazian said. “Thankfully, given the operating performance that we’ve seen over the last couple of years, that’s coming true.”

The numbers back up the heightened interest: Hotel daily rates in India’s major markets in February were 30% higher than the February 2019 numbers, on average, according to HVS , a hotel valuation firm.

On the supply side, ratings agency ICRA forecasted that the premium supply pipeline may rise nearly 30% through 2025.

Here’s an update on the latest announcements from a half-dozen major hotel groups about their development plans in India.

Marriott International

Marriott generated about $1 billion in top-line revenue in India last year.

Marriott launched  Moxy in India in early January  with the Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud , as Skift reported .

This year, the world’s largest hotelier plans to open a dozen hotels in India , said Rajeev Menon, Marriott’s president, Asia Pacific excluding China.

It hopes to have 250 hotels in India by 2025 .

Menon elaborated on Marriott’s strategy on-stage at the Skift India Summit in Delhi-NCR, shown in this video .

Hilton Worldwide

Hilton added a new face to its marketing ads through a deal with Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone that it revealed in February .

“Our partnership with Deepika is probably unique and only parallel in some way to Paris Hilton,” said Chris Silcock, president, global brands and commercial services, in an ET interview . “It’s a global partnership.”

“Hilton is gearing up for what it believes will be its best year yet in India,” Skift reported earlier this month. “Currently operating 26 hotels in India, it’s set to double its footprint in the country in the next 3 to 4 years.”

The Paris-based hotel giant also has India in its sights.

“India has been taking the lead in terms of economy and is the fastest-growing country in the world right now,” said Group CEO Sébastian Bazin when speaking at  HICSA 2024 conference in Bengaluru this month.

Bazin’s company signed 11 hotel development deals in India last year and opened six properties, it said this month. Before 2030, Accor intends to add 30 operating hotels worth about 5,500 guest rooms in the country, as Skift noted this month.

Hyatt said it would open seven hotels, or about 1,115 guest rooms, in India this year. It currently runs 48 properties in India and plans to double that number within five years , as Skift noted .

India has become Hyatt’s fourth largest revenue-generating market, after the U.S., China, and Japan. It has several brands in the market and plans to bring its Miraval Resorts and Spas brand , too.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)

IHG said this week that it operates 46 hotels in India and plans to open 49 more over the next few years.

“There’s no reason why India can’t be on the same trajectory [as China],” CEO Elie Maalouf told the Times of India on Thursday. “It will be one of our major markets around the world.”

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts

Wyndham will add 7 hotels to India this year across its Ramada and Days Inn brands.

Wyndham’s hotels in India saw a 15% growth in revenue per available room last year, and saw the number of Indian members of its loyalty program rise by 10%, according to an interview with The Hindu by Dimitris Manikis, president for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in EMEA.

European Union adopts more favourable Schengen visa rules for Indians

Indian Nationals can now apply for a multiple entry Schengen visa with longer validity

On 18 April 2024, the European Commission adopted specific rules on the issuing of multiple entry visas to Indian nationals, which are more favourable than the standard rules of the Visa Code that applied to date. This new visa ‘cascade’ regime for Indian nationals residing in India who apply for Schengen (short-stay) visas in India will provide easier access to visas with multi-year validity for travellers with an established travel history, if the passport validity allows. 

According to the newly adopted visa “cascade” regime for India, Indian nationals can now be issued long-term, multi-entry Schengen visas valid for two years after having obtained and lawfully used two visas within the previous three years. The two-year visa will normally be followed by a five-year visa, if the passport has sufficient validity remaining. During the validity period of these visas, holders enjoy travel rights equivalent to visa-free nationals.

This decision comes in the context of strengthened relations under the EU-India Common Agenda on Migration and Mobility, which seeks comprehensive cooperation on migration policy between the EU and India, with facilitation of people-to-people contacts being of key aspect due to the importance of India as a partner for the EU. 

Schengen visas allow the holder to travel freely in the Schengen area for short stays of a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period. The visas are not purpose-bound, but they do not grant the right to work. The Schengen area consists of 29 European countries (of which 25 are EU states): Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden, along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
