Fresh off a 2022 tour, Il Divo is picking up right where they left off and hitting the road yet again in 2023.

From Feb. 23 through March 24, the classically-trained singers from all over the globe will hit venues all over North America as part of their upcoming 19-concert “A New Day Tour.”

Near the end of the trek, they’ll drop into the Big Apple for a show at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on March 10.

On the last run of shows, the quartet incorporated Motown classics into their set lists to mix things up.

What will the “A New Day Tour” bring?

While we can’t say for sure, we do know the best way to find out is to see David Miller, Sébastien Izambard, Urs Bühler and special guest Steven LaBrie live .

And make sure to buy tickets early — some seats can be secured for as low as $15 before fees on Vivid Seats at the time of publication.

Now, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Il Divo tour.

Il Divo 2023 tour schedule

Starting Feb. 23, the legendary foursome will drop into Niagara Falls’ OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino .

From there, they’ll hit notable cities like Easton, PA (March 3), Worcester, MA (March 7), Nashville, TN (March 16), Charlotte, NC (March 19) and Louisville, KY (March 22), while crisscrossing up and down the country.

The tour wraps at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL, on March 24.

Tragedy, unfortunately, befell the group in Dec. 2021.

On Dec. 19, 2021, one of the group’s founding members, Carlos Marín , passed away after a two-week battle with COVID-19 .

Since his untimely death, the group has enlisted the talents of Mexican-American singer Steven LaBrie.

LaBrie, 34, toured with the group in 2022 and is listed as a special guest for the time being.

Brainchild of Simon Cowell, Il Divo are an operatic vocal group formed of singers from Spain, Switzerland, France and the United States.

Following a growing appreciation of male voices in a classical style, SImon Cowell deeded to form a vocal group, to be signed to his record label, Syco Music. Following auditions, French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor David Miller and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler were chosen to form the band, recreating the style of The Three Tenors.

The band started recording for their first album in 2004, as their self-titled debut. Recorded in Sweden, the album featured renditions of Sinatra's "My Way" and toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart." The album was a huge success, becoming certified multi-platinum and reaching number one on 13 countries around the world, top five in 25 countries.

Their second album, "Ancora" was released in 2005, becoming a number one hit in the UK and Australia within a week. In the US it entered the Billboard Charts at number one, selling over 150,000 copies in a week. The album included a duet with Céline Dion, on "I Believe in You" and a Spanish version of Secret Garden's "You Raise Me Up."

Il Divo have consistently released albums since the success of their first two, including a christmas album. Their 2008 record "The Promise" again reached number one in several countries and 2011's "Wicked Game" broke the top 20 in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the US.

In 2012, the band released a record of their greatest hits, before embarking on an international tour with Welsh star Katherine Jenkins.

Classical music has seen somewhat of a mainstream crossover in recent years, which some would attribute to Simon Cowell and his love of showcasing the genre on his TV talent shows, providing platforms for artists such as Paul Potts.

One of Cowell's most prized classical possessions though did not come from one of these shows, but rather he put together to fill this new gap in the classical/mainstream crossover market. Enter, Il Divo. four rather handsome men from across the globe, with voices that blend together unbelievably smooth.

Cowell apparently spent a lot of time researching classical singers from across the world when looking for members of Il Divo. And despite only being together for the past decade or so, Sebastien, Carlos, David & Urs perform like they've been together for a lifetime.

Regulars in the touring game, I've had the chance to see Il Divo live a few times, with the most memorable performance being at the Royal Albert Hall back in 2012. Hearing the incredibly powerful vocals of this group within such an iconic venue, with some of the best acoustics on offer, was an experience that I will never forget.

Il Divo have changed people's perceptions of classical music as something that only the upper classes are knowledgeable of and enjoy, and their success in doing so is evidenced by worldwide album sales of 26 million.

Like him or loathe him, Simon Cowell has created a gem with Il Divo, who filled a gap in the market so well. I for one have already booked tickets to see them later this year at The o2 Arena in London and it is sure to be another unforgettable experience.

It was the lovely enjoyable concert and the humor was not forgotten when Carlos was on state. However, there were few points that the organizers should take in concern: I arrived with taxi and the only entrance that did have somekind of signing was the Crown area. There were security personal on the way but non did not know where was the entrance for Red area? Since the security said that yep here...my taxi stop the meter and I paid. Then the another security personal said NO. Taxi was still there but it cost extra 12 AED to go another gate (no signs). Finally I made it in to Red area and went to byu food. The platter for two (sushi etc) was really dry and the seagrass around them too old and almost too hard to eat. Other than this it was a good idea to get them ready and have a quick service. After the meal I was looking for a place for the cigarette. There was no place with asthrey and the waitress told that you can smoke anywhere? There should have been dedicated area for smokers! The concert started and Il Divo group made all better except the sound system was terrible time to time. I came to hear singing not the drums... Those microphones were not set up since they voice were not balanced at the beginning. At the end I I can still say that Il Divo made my evening and the fabulous choice of songs left everyone in good mood. I would have loved to byu the after party ticket from the spot but it was not possible? I am sure it was not so full and at the end business is business and ticket sale is the sale even it is created at the spot.

El concierto fue simplemente maravilloso. Soy de México, y desde la primera vez que fueron en 2007 a CDMX los fui a ver en vivo... de ahí en adelante no he faltado nunca a sus conciertos... Excepto, en marzo del 2018... porque ese año estaba en trámites de mudarme/emigrar a Canadá. Y oh sorpresa!! Casualmente me vine a vivir a Montreal y a las pocas semanas de haber llegado aquí, me enteré que darían un concierto!!!

Fui la persona más feliz del mundo y en seguida compré mis boletos!!

El concierto me fascinó, las canciones fueron maravillosas, escucharlos hablar en inglés, español y francés fue genial!!! Ha sido un concierto único e innolvidable... (y eso que he ido a varios ya). El único comentario no tan positivo que tengo es que... el Teatro St-Denis no me gustó mucho... no me gustó que se podía ver el escenario tras bambalinas, vaya! por lomenos hubieran puesto cortinas... puedo asegurar que cualquier auditorio o teatro donde se han presentado en México ha sido mil veces más lindo que el teatro St-Denis aquí en Montreal.

En adición a eso... POR FAVOR!!! Asignen más fechas para conciertos de Il Divo en Montreal en un futuro próximo!!!

I have been Il Divo fan since 2003. I went to 13 concerts in UK but also in Belgium and two in Paris few years ago. I cannot imagine my live without their music. For me, they are the most wonderful singers with unbelievable talent and charisma. I went to Meet & Greet few years ago as a special treat for my birthday. I adore Il Divo and I am so pleased for them and their worldwide success. Yesterdays, Timeless Tour concert in Cardiff was electrifying, with great involvement of the audience, standing ovation, a very memorable evening. The new repertoire of songs they have chosen are onr of my favourite songs. I loved every minute of this concert. They give absolutely 100 percent at every concert I have been too. Long live IL Divo. I love you Guys.

I saw Il Divo at the Rosemont Theater on October 22. They were great,amazing, specially when Sebastien sung in French, since I am French. I was hoping to connect with him, but was not seated at the right place. All of the songs I knew them.

The only thing that I didn't care for were the dancers. I would have liked better if Il Divo were performing alone. It sorts took them away from their performance.

It seemed the attention was more towards the dancers. After having said all that I still love them, I think they are great singers and would not mind seeing them again in the near future if they return to Chicago.

Not the greatest event. Only about a third of tickets sold and organisers did not adjust by moving those who were there closer to the stage. Consequently no real atmosphere. More a venue issue than a performer issue.

Performance was OK in view of the lack of atmosphere however the group seemed to cut down the second half of the show in response to this.

Lot of money to pay for a c90 minute performance

Enjoyed the Il Divo experience in San Antonio for the fourth time.. Wonderful..!!! Captivating .!! Charming ..!! I was so excited to enjoy their unique sound of music and amazing voices in person..one more time ..!!! So pleased & happy they have continued on … and hopefully will continue on for years to come… Thank you Il Divo.

Next to Andrea Bocelli, the greatest concert and show yet. Can't wait to see them again. Saw them 2 years ago in the same venue--They all get better with age especially David and Sebastian. Urs voice is absolutely fabulous. Carlos' voice is so strong and powerful, too.

Il Divo is an amazing group, they really sing with their souls. It was my 4th time watching these guys, and I still can do this for the next oportunities. Between past and present they perform an incredible love story.

Amazing show as always! Consummate gentlemen and entertainers. I never get tired of seeing and hearing them perform live. My sister had her dream come true when they invited her up on stage and they sang a song to her!

Steven Labrie joins following Carlos Marin’s passing

Multi-platinum classical crossover group Il Divo will embark on their US A New Day Holiday Tour, launching November 29th at Ferguson Center for the Performing Arts in Newport News, Virginia. The tour, which continues through December 23rd in Naples, Florida, will feature the group performing holiday classics that include “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and more, in addition to songs from their vast catalog.

Singing in English, Spanish and Italian, Il Divo, with members Urs Bühler of Switzerland, Sébastian Izambard of France and David Miller, also announce a new addition to their group, Mexican American baritone Steven LaBrie. After the untimely passing of original member Carlos Marin in 2021 from COVID-19, Labrie had been a featured guest on their Greatest Hits Tour from 2022 to present, and now has become the group’s fourth member.

“We’re very excited to come back to the U.S. on our upcoming holiday tour and are equally excited to announce Steven Labrie joining our group,” the group shares. “Il Divo is this beautiful tapestry of different colors, so finding a replacement for Carlos seemed like an impossible task. Steven was up to the challenge, though. He sent us a recording, and we were blown away. It’s a bit serendipitous. He was literally the exact same age we were when we started this 20 years ago. On opening night of any tour, we always had a ritual where we would shake hands and say, ‘Good luck. Here we go.’ During the first night of Greatest Hits Tour we started shaking hands out of habit, and Carlos wasn’t there. We finally let ourselves feel the emotion of loss. However, the tour was incredible. We thought about the experience we were having with audiences and this communion of feeling, and of being human. We realized it could be a real turning point. It was a shot in the arm, and it felt like there was more to be discovered for Il Divo.”

Il Divo Tour Dates 2024

Operatic quartet Il Divo will be touring extensively across America in 2024 celebrating the group's 20th anniversary. Their XX Tour takes place in July/August making notable stops in Las Vegas, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Denver, Detroit, Washington, DC and Chautauqua. The award-winning band recently wrapped up their A New Day Tour which commenced in 2023 and visited the U.S. and Canada.

Il Divo will continue supporting their 10th studio album 'For Once in My Life: A Celebration of Motown' released on July 16th, 2021 via Decca Gold. Their previous 2018 album 'Timeless' includes the lead single 'Hola' which is a Spanish-language version of Adele 's 'Hello' . The same year, the vocal group launched their For Once In My Life Tour which stretched into 2022 and was also billed as their Greatest Hits Tour . Back in 2018, their Timeless Tour visited Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and North America. Current members include David Miller, Sébastien Izambard, Urs Bühler and Steven LaBrie.

“A New Day Holiday Tour” will feature the group performing holiday classics that include “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and more, in addition to songs from their vast catalog.   

Singing in English, Spanish and Italian, IL DIVO, with members Urs Bühler (tenor) of Switzerland, Sébastian Izambard (tenor) of France and David Miller (tenor), also announce a new addition to their group, Mexican American baritone Steven LaBrie. After the untimely passing of original member Carlos Marin in 2021 from COVID-19, Labrie had been a featured guest on their “Greatest Hits Tour” from 2022 to present, and now has become the group’s fourth member (see People.com story here ). 

IL DIVO is the most commercially successful classical crossover group in international music history since they first banded together in 2004. With more than 30 million albums sold, 160 Gold and Platinum albums in 33 countries, to their credit, Il Divo was the first Classical Crossover artist to have an album debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. Beyond enrapturing millions of fans in packed arenas and stadiums, their audience has consisted of historical figures and thought leaders and their presence has underscored momentous events, including the Summer Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Diamond Jubilee at Windsor and the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball, to name a few. Beyond enrapturing millions of fans in packed arenas and stadiums, their audience has consisted of historical figures and thought leaders, ranging from U.S. presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama to Queen Elizabeth II. Their presence has underscored momentous events, including the Summer Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Diamond Jubilee at Windsor, and the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball, to name a few. With songs recorded in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Latin, English, and Japanese, their catalog has impressively yielded global sales of 30 million-plus units with 50 #1 hits and 160 Gold and Platinum records throughout 35 countries.  

Over the course of two decades, the original quartet—Urs Bühler (tenor) of Switzerland, Sébastien Izambard (tenor) of France, David Miller (tenor) of America, and the late Carlos Marín (baritone) of Spain—effectively changed the popular perception of classical and opera forever.

Now, Il Divo continues to forge ahead in 2023.

“We’re brothers,” smiles Sebastien. “We might not always agree, but we always look after each other. We’ve learned so much as a unit. I never would’ve imagined this thing would last 10 years, but we’re going on 20. I believe we have more peace than ever, and we love being a part of this.”

“Il Divo has been my life for the last 20 years,” Urs observes. “It’s given me an identity as one of the four singers in the group. Each one of us is a musician, above all. So, we feel every note we sing, and we lay our emotions into every note we project onto the audience. Whether you see us live or listen to an album, we hope you enjoy each minute. Our goal is to simply move people.”

From the first note they sang together, the group have done just that…  

As the story goes, Il Divo arrived as a force of nature with their self-titled full-length debut, Il Divo , in 2004. It bowed at #5 on the Billboard 200 (as the first of five consecutive Top 10 debuts by the group on the respective chart) , scored a Platinum certification from the RIAA, and moved more than five million copies. Among many highlights, it boasted “Mama,” “Nella Fantasia,” “My Way (A mi manera),” and their reimagining of Toni Braxton’s “Un-break My Heart,” the seminal “Regresa a mí.” The latter proved nothing short of groundbreaking.

“We brought the classical sound to a pop song everyone was familiar with,” notes Urs. “It showed the world you could appreciate this music in the context of the radio and not just a three-and-a-half hour opera. In a way, we made it accessible to everyone.”  

“Early on, we realized Il Divo isn’t just for an opera audience; Il Divo is for everybody,” adds David. “We translate the classical voice into pop music.”

2005 saw Ancora bow at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 2005. Touting the popular duet with Celine Dion, “I Believe In You (Je crois en toi),” it also went Gold in the United States. Meanwhile, they joined Barbra Streisand as special guests on Streisand: The Tour , ranking as “one of the Top 10 highest-grossing tours of 2006 , ” according to Billboard . During 2011, the Classic BRIT Awards christened them “Artist of the Decade , ” and they delivered a rapturous performance in Paraguay at Defensores del Chaco Stadium for a crowd of nearly 34,000. Along the way, they made multiple popular appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and collaborated with everyone from Engelbert Humperdinck to Juan Gabriel. 2018’s Timeless served up a popular Spanish-language rendition of Adele’s “Hello” entitled “Hola.” Giving back as much as possible, they have also supported organizations such as “Save the Children,” Nordoff Robbins music therapy, and more.  

In the middle of the Global Pandemic, the world tragically lost Carlos to COVID-19. Following careful consideration, thought, and time, they chose to honor his memory on their Greatest Hits Tour in 2022, accompanied by Steven LaBrie as a special guest baritone.

“Il Divo is this beautiful tapestry of different colors, so finding a replacement seemed like an impossible task,” admits David. “Steven was up to the challenge, though. He sent us a recording, and we were blown away. It’s a bit serendipitous. He was literally the exact same age we were when we started this 20 years ago. On opening night of any tour, we always had a ritual where we would shake hands and say, ‘Good luck. Here we go.’ During the first night of The Greatest Hits Tour , we started shaking hands out of habit, and Carlos wasn’t there. We finally let ourselves feel the emotion of loss. However, the tour was incredible. We thought about the experience we were having with audiences and this communion of feeling, and of being human. We realized it could be a real turning point. It was a shot in the arm, and it felt like there was more to be discovered for Il Divo.”

“I actually got Il Divo’s album in the CD section of Barnes & Noble when I was 14-years-old,” recalls Steven. “I met David, and we had initially clicked. It was an honor to keep the sound of Il Divo alive on tour and pay homage to Carlos. It was full circle for me too.”

In late 2023, Il Divo formally welcomed Steve as a member and turned the page on their next chapter with a Christmas EP as their first independent release under a partnership with Thirty Tigers. Co-produced by Sébastien and Carlos Lopez, they reimagined and reinvigorated holiday staples such as “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”   Meanwhile, they infused “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” with a Latin kick, circling around a warm Bossanova groove.

“These tunes are very close to all of us,” Urs goes on. “We really identify with them, and they’re special. It adds something to the Il Divo Christmas show with a new Christmas spirit—a holly jolly one,” he laughs.

In its wake, Il Divo takes flight in 2024 with their 10th full-length album, “XX.” Once again, they leap forward creatively, expanding the style and vision all at once.

“The album really has a sound to it,” Sébastien goes on. “It’s exciting to hear where we’re going. It’s Il Divo, but it’s the next chapter.”

“There’s something magical about how we did the tour in 2022, became close friends, and are making music together,” Steven elaborates. “It’s incredible.”

A new dawn for Il Divo begins now.

“For me, music is more than entertainment,” says David. “It separates humans from the rest of the animal kingdom. The human voice is capable of things that everyone in an audience can vibrationally relate to. We have all been through sadness and happiness. Il Divo translates extreme emotions into a modern experience of humanity. This isn’t background music. We’re vibrationally mirroring how you might feel and enabling catharsis to happen. We want this to continue as long as we can. As long as we have breath and are able to do what we do at the level we do it, that’s all we want. We want to create windows of transformation for anybody who’s willing to listen.”  

“Everything we do is for the audience,” Sebastien states. “Carlos will always be in our hearts. We’re sharing as many moments of joy as we can on stage. It’s a gift when what we do connects with anybody. For us, it’s not about receiving, but about giving and being of service to others. There’s nothing more powerful.”

“After losing a brother and living through so much over 20 years, Il Divo and our music are not a smidge tired,” Urs leaves off. “Il Divo has not lost any bit of its right to exist, with its potential and possibility to make beautiful, emotive, strong, and very high quality music. These are the most important things to me—Il Divo is here after 20 years, and Il Divo is here to stay.”
