Description

• Fun and easy to play railway simulation! Travel on the Eizan Electric Railway. Enjoy the beautiful autumn colors in 3D. "Journey to Kyoto" is part of the popular Japanese Rail Sim 3D series and features driving over the complete line from the first station to the last! The game is set on the Eizan Electric Railway which travels around the ancient capital of Kyoto. The scenery from the driver's point of view is reproduced in intense 3D images. You will enjoy driving a 900-type "Kirara" on your railway journey from the suburban Demachiyanagi Station to the mountainous Kurama Station. You will pass through the popular tourist spot the "Momiji no Tonneru (tunnel)" where the branches of maple trees overlap to create a tunnel of bright autumn colors. Both a 'Day Mode' and a 'Night Mode' are available, so you can enjoy the various atmospheres as you drive. By getting high scores in the game, you can see information about the many tourist spots along the track such as the Shimogamo-jinja Shrine and the Kifune-jinja Shrine, and feel like youre actually visiting Kyoto.

The publisher has announced that Japanese Rail Sim: Journey to Kyoto will be getting a digital and physical release in North America this Spring 2020 . You can now pre-order the physical version (containing bonuses like pins and keychains) over here .

The game contains actual recordings of train journeys in Japan, across both the Kurama Line and the Eizan Line. Players will have to ensure their trains travel at the correct speed, while docking at stations correctly.

This update to Japanese Rail Sim 3D: Journey to Kyoto brings players back to Kyoto with new features. As with the previous version, this game is a first-person train driving simulator; players are responsible for driving the train safely and stopping for passengers. Journeys are presented via a mixture of live-action footage of the actual train route and a real-time 3D rendered conductor's cabin. All of the footage has been recorded in autumn, prominently featuring the area's famous autumn scenery. Players can drive both directions through all of the routes, and an in-game guidebook provides information on real-world sightseeing spots along the game's train lines.

While the original release featured only the Eizan line, this new version adds the Kurama line (runs between Takaragaike and Kurama) and the Hiei sightseeing train (opened 2018, runs to the foot of Mount Hiei). A new achievement system has been added, and a new beginners' guide provides in-game tutorials.
