Come take a tour of the marvel universe's new york city.

A lot has gone down in Marvel's New York (View of the Brooklyn Bridge from the East River, ... [+] Manhattan, NYC).
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) movies have traveled to a lot of unique settings over the past decade. We’ve followed our heroes to both coasts of the United States, outside the country to Siberia and South Africa, deep into fictional nations such as Wakanda and Sokovia, and even far off the map to distant planets such as Sakaar, Knowhere and Xandar.
But even though these adventures constantly cross borders, a lot of the action concentrates in New York City. Maybe it’s because the Avengers’ headquarters being in the city attracts attention, or maybe it's because New York is just naturally a hub of world culture. Regardless, a lot of key moments in the MCU take place here (which has actually led to the city’s rent prices hitting new lows as everyone scrambles for safer neighborhoods).
But do you ever wish you could take a tour of all the points of interest in Marvel’s New York? Well, thanks to a new video from Vanity Fair , now you’ll know exactly where to go.
In just under six minutes, the snazzy video uses a Google Earth and street view style to walk us through a handful of settings fans will recognize from the Marvel movies. One of the most interesting parts of this is seeing what real-world buildings are replaced for fictional ones inside the films. For instance, our first stop takes us to 1585 Broadway, the headquarters of Morgan Stanley. However, in the MCU this building instead serves as the secret SHIELD facility where Steve Rogers first awoke from his coma and dashed out to discover modern-day New York ( Captain America: The First Avenger ). Also of interest is the famous Avengers tower which stands proudly in the skyline of every Marvel movie. Well, turns out the Avengers tower actually replaces the real-life location of the MetLife building, itself a key part of the real New York’s skyline.
The Avengers tower is digitally placed on top of the MetLife building in the Marvel movies (Source: ... [+] Getty).
But not everything turns out to be glamorous large company buildings in the real world. Take for instance the location of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, which in the movies resembles a luxurious museum filled with mystical artifacts. However, in the real world, the address takes us to a small building wedged between storefronts. Clearly, Marvel enjoys taking some liberties with their version of New York.
The video also takes us to a few points of interest during our heroes’ climactic final showdown with the alien Chitauri army at the end of The Avengers . The battle reigned destruction on a lot of key city landmarks such as The Chrysler Building, Grand Central Terminal, and 101 Park Avenue, all featured in the video. The tour then also takes us to Queens to show us some of the spots Spider-Man swung around during Spider-Man: Homecoming to monitor the city for crimes.
The tour is indeed extensive, but it does leave out many important locations. For instance, the video makes no mention of Harlem, the setting of The Incredible Hulk ’s final showdown. It’s true that the nature of that film’s relation to the canon is strained due to Bruce Banner’s recasting. However, Ruffalo’s Banner does admit in The Avengers , “The last time I was in New York I kind of broke...Harlem.” Given that confirmation of events, many fans in the video’s comments section have brought up their disappointment with the omission.
On top of that, the video focuses solely on the MCU movies and not on the MCU TV shows that also largely take place in New York. For instance, while the video does show Bethesda Terrace as the place where Thor transports an imprisoned Loki back to space, it doesn’t mention that Bethesda Terrace was also the location of Danny, Colleen, and Davos’ final (or perceived final) showdown with Bakuto . We also don’t stop by the apartment and office of private investigator Jessica Jones ( Jessica Jones ), the fancy and spacious Hell’s Kitchen apartment of Matthew Murdock ( Daredevil ), nor the proud tower of Rand Enterprises ( Iron Fist ).
Although Danny Rand's never met the Avengers, they both once faced their enemies near this fountain ... [+] (New York, NY USA - May 14, 2017. Panorama view of Bethesda Fountain in Central Park New York).
Luckily, other fans have worked on a fuller version of events. One reddit user put in an awe-inspiring amount of work to note every location of interest across the Earth in the MCU and pinpoint them all on Google Maps . This combined map, while not as neat a tour as the video, allows us a fuller picture of what’s happened in Marvel’s fictional world. Zooming into New York on this map we notice key locations such as The Hand’s school on Staten Island ( Iron Fist ), the offices of Hogarth, Chao, and Benowitz ( Jessica Jones ), Pop’s barbershop ( Luke Cage ), and much much more.
Clearly, there’s a lot to see in the MCU’s New York. So on your next visit to the real world version of the city, feel free to use these resources to draw your own map and pay homage to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The next entry in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe will be Season 2 of The Runaways , premiering December 21st on Hulu.

THE AVENGERS FILMING LOCATIONS
The Avengers franchise is the star-studded heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The release of the original film in 2012 was a superhero crossover event like no other, and the two sequels, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), were even bigger and better. With all three Avengers films in the top ten of the highest grossing films of all time, there is no denying the appeal of the Marvel heroes.
The team initially consisted of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America , Black Widow, and Hawkeye in The Avengers . Together, they defeat Loki in the now famous Battle of New York. In Avengers: Age of Ultron , the team must fight Ultron in Eastern European nation Sokovia, where Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon, and War Machine join the team. In Infinity War , even more heroes join forces to fight Thanos: Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Okoye, the Winter Soldier, Mantis, Drax, Destroyer, Gamora, Groot, Rocket, and Star-Lord. That’s a lot of superheroes!
Lucky for us, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) aka Iron Man’s Avengers headquarters are located right in New York City, so many of the Avengers’ stomping grounds can be seen on the Super Tour of NYC ! Check out some notable Avengers sights right here in Manhattan:
- Pershing Square Café, the café where bystanders hide out for safety during the battle at the end of the first film
- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) summons the power of his hammer Mjolnir from the top of the Chrysler Building
- The Grand Central bridge entrance, where the original team of Avengers battles Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the Kree aliens during the Battle of New York
- Stark Tower is actually the Met Life building, although the exterior shots utilize CGI to establish a different look
- After the heroes receive Loki’s scepter in Age of Ultron , they return to the Met Life building and meet Agent Hill (Cobie Smulders)
- The Queensboro Bridge is the setting of the scene in Infinity War when Spider-Man (Tom Holland) senses something is wrong and joins the fight
- The final scene in the 2012 first film takes place in Central Park, and you can see this exact spot on our Central Park Tour , as Thor takes Loki back to Asgard, Tony Stark drives off with Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans) rides away on his motorcycle, and Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) head off into the distance
Avengers: Endgame , released in April 2019, is already making huge waves at the box office. Ant-Man, The Wasp, and Captain Marvel are set to join the team, and for the fourth time in a row, the cast filmed on location in New York. Check back for updates!

DO-IT-YOURSELF SUPERHERO TOUR
More than any other city in the world, New York City has more sites that show up in superhero movies, TV shows, and comic books.
With so many sites to see, we have divided the locations by different parts of NYC. This should help make visiting so many sites more manageable.
Since you will likely be taking the subway to these locations, you should take a look at our posts on navigating the Subway and which MetroCard to buy.
Also, consider getting around the city by a hop-on, hop-off bus tour , as these tours stop at or near most of the locations.
Do-It-Yourself-Super Hero-Tour
- Lower Manhattan
UPTOWN MANHATTAN
A - Low Memorial Library at Columbia University
One of the most important events ever in the fictional world of superheroes happened here. Well, not at the Low Library, but rather at the Empire State University Science Lab.
Spider-man ’s Peter Parker goes with his high school to see the genetics lab and it is where he is bitten by a radioactive spider, changing his life forever.
Though the lab interior scenes were filmed in Los Angeles on a set the exterior shots of the lab took place on the steps of Columbia University‘s Low Memorial Library ( map ).
Columbia’s campus also features often in Ghostbusters . While you are at Columbia University, take a short walk over to the colorful neighborhood of Harlem, using our Harlem Visitor's Guide .
B - Central Park Bethesda Fountain
So many movies and TV shows have been filmed in this picturesque park, and the world of superheroes is no exception.
In The Avengers , the famed Bethesda Fountain was used as the setting for the final scene when The Avengers bid farewell to each other.
In Jessica Jones, Season 1, Episode 12, Jessica follows a courier through Central Park toward Bethesda Terrace.
As they near the fountain, the courier impales himself on garden shears lying around and Jessica is too late to stop him.
Use our guide to Central Park to explore the park. Or why not join us on one of our pay-what-you-like Central Park Tours or try our GPS-enhanced Central Park Audio Tour ?
C - The Frick Museum
The museum, located at 1 E. 70th St., was the inspiration for The Avengers mansion.
The legendary Stan Lee (who passed away in November 2018 at the superheroic age of 95!) admired the elegant Frick Museum which he walked past during his commute to Marvel Comics offices.
You can visit the Frick for free on certain days of the week ( map ). To find out more, visit their website .
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN
Many of these locations are included in our pay-what-you-like tours of Midtown Manhattan .
If you want to complement your DIY Superhero tour, you might like our GPS-enhanced Audio Tour of Midtown Manhattan .
See our Guide to Midtown Manhattan as well.
D - Roosevelt Island Aerial Tram
In the first Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and Willem Dafoe, this is where the Green Goblin held people hostage and threw Mary Jane into the water near the end of the movie (video below).
You can ride the Roosevelt Island Tram and you will get breathtaking views of NYC. And once you are on Roosevelt Island it is a lovely place to spend an hour or so.
See our Self-Guided Roosevelt Island Tour for information on what to do on the island.
E - United Nations Headquarters
This iconic NYC rectangular building is a mainstay in many Marvel Comics.
In the original Batman movie from the 1960’s the Joker, Penguin, and Riddler try to kidnap the members of the United World Organization’s security or the United Nations.
In Superman IV, Superman addresses the General Assembly at the U.N. to voice his wishes to rid the world of all nuclear weapons.
Our Self-Guided Midtown Manhattan Tour includes the United Nations, and if you’d like you can take a tour of the UN building. Find out how here .
F - Tudor City Place
In the Spider-man movies, the top floors of stylish 5 Tudor City Place ( map ) were used as the exterior of Norman Osborn’s rooftop mansion.
The interior shots were filmed in L.A. As a side note, non-superhero Katherine Hepburn lived in Tudor City for many years.
G - NY Daily News Building
In the first Superman movie starring Christopher Reeves as Superman and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, this building's lobby serves as the lobby of the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent, Superman’s alter ego works.
This building, located at 220 East 42nd Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave. ( map ), is also where other Superman characters like editor-in-chief Perry White, reporter, and love interest Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen also work.
H - Overlook Bar
This bar, 225 E. 44th St. ( map ) was formerly Costello's, a bar that attracted authors, newspapermen, and cartoonists.
In the early 1970s, the bar’s owner asked Bill Gallo, who was the president of the National Cartoonists Society at the time, to create a mural to go along with already existing cartoons by the famous humorist James Thurber.
According to legend, Thurber drew on the walls of the bar to pay for his drinks during the Great Depression.
In, 1976, Bill Gallo agreed to make the mural on the wall at Costello’s in exchange for free food and drink for all the cartoonists who joined in.
That May, 40 cartoonists spent 20 minutes doodling on a 4’ x 20’ wall.
Some of the characters you’ll see on the mural are Popeye, the Phantom, Bullwinkle, Beetle Bailey, Archie, Little Orphan Annie, Betty Boop, Fred Flintstone, and Felix the Cat.
I - Chrysler Building
In the movie, Percy Jackson the Lighting Thief , Percy has a battle on top of the beautiful spire of the Chrysler Building.
In The Avengers , Thor uses the spire of the building to bring down an even bigger-than-usual lightning bolt.
In Spider-Man , when Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben is shot by a robber, Peter slings webs across the skyscrapers of the city to get revenge.
When the robber accidentally kills himself, Peter leaves and ends up sulking on top of one of the gargoyles perched on the top of the Chrysler Building.
See our post to learn more about visiting the Chrysler Building .
J- Grand Central Terminal
In the original X-Men movie, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants have a big fight scene in the Great Hall inside the terminal.
In The Avengers there is the epic battle scene in which all of the Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Hulk come together to hold off the Chitauri Alien invasion.
In the first Superman , Lex Luthor’s lair is directly below the train tracks of Grand Central.
In fact, someone tries to sneak into his hidden lair and steps into a trap involving the train lines!
Use our Self-Guided Grand Central Tour or our Audio Tour to see what else is inside this incredible and historic sight.
K - Metlife Building
This is Stark Tower, the headquarters for Tony Stark (Iron Man) in The Avengers .
In real life, it's the Metlife Building located at 200 Park Ave. and E. 45th Street, adjacent to Grand Central Terminal.
L - Intersection of 42nd Street and Madison Avenue
This is where the Fantastic 4’s Baxter Building is supposed to be ( map ). In the comics, the landlord originally wanted the team there, because of the publicity.
In both Fantastic 4 live-action movies, the building comes under attack.
M - New York Public Library
In the Spider-Man movie, it was outside this prestigious institution at 42nd St. and 5th Ave. ( map ), that Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben gives some important advice to Peter who has just discovered he is a superhero.
Uncle Ben tells him, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”
Words of wisdom spoken in front of one of the most significant and stunning institutions in New York City history.
You can take a free tour of the inside of the New York Public Library (where a scene from Ghostbusters was also filmed!)
N - Times Square at 42nd Street and Broadway
In the original Spider-Man , the Green Goblin and Spider-Man battle each other in Times Square.
In Amazing Spider-Man 2, there is a giant battle scene between Spider-Man and Electro.
In Captain America , Steve Rogers comes out of his coma, runs away from the soldiers, and arrives in a modern Times Square which is a secret Shield compound.
In Superman 2, Superman battles Zod and his crew in Times Square and throughout NYC.
You can find out everything about this electrifying location from our post Things to do in Times Square .
O - Marvel Comics Headquarters
at 135 West 50th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
While you can’t take a tour of Marvel’s headquarters, the video below shows Marvel mastermind Stan Lee taking a tour through their offices.
For more Marvel madness, you can go to Madame Tussauds and see their popular Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience.
Find out about this exhibit and more from our Madame Tussauds post. We also include ways to get cheaper tickets.
P - Hell’s Kitchen
This neighborhood runs from West 34th Street to West 57th Street and from 8th Avenue across to the Hudson River.
Decades ago, the area was known for being crime-ridden and run down. This made it perfect to be Daredevil’s stomping ground.
You won’t find Josie’s Bar here, where Daredevil and his friends hang out. The exterior shots of Josie’s were filmed at Turkey’s Nest Tavern in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
To get a feel for the old neighborhood visit a few of the gritty bars still around 42nd Street and 9th Avenue.
To explore the neighborhood, use our Self-Guided tour of Hell’s Kitchen .
LOWER MANHATTAN
We have several pay-what-you-wish tours that cover most of these locations. You might also like our self-guided tour of Lower Manhattan Film and TV Locations .
Q - Flatiron Building
In the Spider-man movies, this building, at 23rd St. and Broadway ( map ), serves as the Daily Bugle where Parker worked as a photographer.
Read all about this famous and much-photographed triangular building in our post about the Flatiron Building .
R - Joe’s Pizza
The building at 117A Bleecker Street served as the locale for the Sanctum Sanctorum of Dr. Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme for Marvel.
Joe's Pizza was the pizzeria with a 29-minute delivery service in Spider-Man 2. Go inside to see pictures of Tobey Maguire shooting the scene.
Our pay-what-you-like tours of Greenwich Village pass by Joe’s Pizza and also walk along Bleecker Street.
Take a look at our Guide to Greenwich Village as well.
S - Intersection of Delancey and Essex Streets
You may have heard The Thing of the Fantastic Four refer to Yancy Street.
That’s a combination of Delancey and Essex Streets, the big intersection in the Lower East Side where the co-creator of the Fantastic Four, Jack Kirby, grew up.
The Lower East Side is one of the most interesting and fun neighborhoods to visit in NYC.
In addition to the Fantastic Four, you can find fantastic food there. You might consider taking our Lower East Side Food Tour .
Check out our Guide to the Lower East Side to find out the hot spots.
T - Nom Wah Tea Parlor
In Spider-Man 2 , Peter Parker dines here with Gwen’s family. Outside on the street ( map ), Gwen breaks up (for the first time) with Peter.
Though not a superhero, Justin Timberlake filmed his video, Take Back the Night on Doyers Street.
Nom Wah is one of our favorite places to eat in Chinatown, as the food is good and the history is quite interesting.
Our Chinatown Food Tour walks along Doyers Street and past this restaurant.
U - JP Morgan Building
In The Dark Knight Rises , this building is used as the Gotham Stock Exchange. It is diagonally across the street from the actual New York Stock Exchange.
In the movie, Bane storms the Gotham Stock Exchange and drains Bruce Wayne's bank account.
This is also where the final battle between Bane and Batman takes place.
This intersection is included in our Lower Manhattan tours . In addition, to seeing the JP Morgan building, we also show you the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall .
V - Staten Island Ferry
Spider-man : Homecoming , features the Staten Island Ferry in a battle scene between Spidey and the Vulture.
You can ride the Staten Island Ferry for free and see pretty stunning views of New York City.
Our post, Riding the Staten Island Ferry can help you plan your ride.
W - Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
In the first X-Men film, the climactic battle against Magneto takes place on Liberty Island.
Ellis Island was also used as a location in the film.
It served as the event venue for the gathering of the world’s leaders whom Magneto planned to mutate using a machine hidden in the Lady Liberty’s torch.
Thus, it made perfect sense then that the New York premiere of X-Men was held on Ellis Island.
If you plan on visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, our post, How to Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island has all the information you need to plan a smooth visit.
All these locations are in the neighborhood of DUMBO. There is a lot to see in this trendy and historic neighborhood, where many other films have been filmed.
To see more of DUMBO, you should check out our pay-what-you-like walking tour of Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights, and DUMBO .
We also have a useful Guide to DUMBO sights to see and suggestions of where to eat and shop.
X - Brooklyn Bridge
In Amazing Spider-Man 2, the Brooklyn Bridge is where Spiderman professes his love for Gwen Stacey by writing “I LOVE YOU” in webbing across the bridge.
In The Dark Knight Rises , this was one of the two bridges you saw having a surgical demolition to prevent people from leaving Gotham.
Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the best free things to do in NYC.
You can use our free Guide to Walking the Brooklyn Bridge or try our (almost free) GPS-led audio tour of the Brooklyn Bridge .
We offer several pay-what-you-wish tours that include the Brooklyn Bridge including our Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO Tour and our 9/11 Memorial and Brooklyn Bridge Night Tour .
Y - Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park
This park in DUMBO is the location in Amazing Spider-man 2 where Peter Parker and his friend Harry skip stones on the water as they catch up with each other.
This Brooklyn waterfront park offers a stunning view of downtown Manhattan and both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.
Z - Power Plant at John Street & Pearl Street along the East River
This power plant, which can be seen from both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, is the setting for the climactic final battle between Electro and Spider-man in Amazing Spider-Man 2.
While in Brooklyn, use our post on things to do in Brooklyn , to see what else there is to do in NYC’s most populated borough.

The Most Detailed Online Map of Marvel's New York City
Things get hairy when you compare the MCU's New York to the real one.
Many of Marvel’s superhero films have been set in New York City, and yet it’s hard to find a map that shows where the events of the films actually take place. We’ve created a map of the so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe using Google Maps, which we’re calling “Inverse’s Marvel NYC Map.” The collection of MCU events extends north to suburban Westchester County (where Charles Xavier founded his Institute) and south to Staten Island, where The Hand trains its youngest recruits in Iron Fist .
The eight movie properties and nine TV properties represented on the map below below include: X-Men (2000), Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), Daredevil (2015), Jessica Jones (2015), Agent Carter (2015), Luke Cage (2016), Doctor Strange (2016), Deadpool (2016), Iron Fist (2017), and projected locations from The Defenders (2016), Punisher (2017), Cloak and Dagger (2018) , The Runaways , Inhumans , and Squirrel Girl (date TBA).
Though Deadpool purposefully makes it difficult for fans to figure out where all of its action takes place, we went ahead and added events from his first movie to the map, too.
What the Map Teaches Us
Here are a few of the points of interest we discovered while plotting events.
9. The Chitauri invasion in The Avengers definitely would have leveled Jessica Jones’s mid-town apartment. She’s not nearly as angry at the Avengers as she appears to be in Jessica Jones Season 1.
8. The citizens of Harlem in Luke Cage should have been discussing how Hulk and the Abomination nearly destroyed the Apollo a few years before Luke showed up.
7. Given that Deadpool probably lives in the Bronx, it’s likely that Luke Cage is aware of his antics and he’s probably annoyed.
6. Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson probably ran into Luke while they were attending Columbia Law School near Harlem.
5. Given the dialogue in The Avengers , there’s really only one possible shawarma restaurant for Tony Stark to bring his buddies to, and it’s, as he says, “two blocks” from where he touches down with the Hulk.
4. When Madame Gao and Kingpin discuss their evil plans in Daredevil , they probably should have pointed to the Rand Industries building, which is definitely within eyesight of their meetup spot. As in, “Yeah, let’s mess with Danny Rand now, who’s probably … over there.”
Oh, Karen, are you finished with your chicken tikka masala? Would you like to walk TWO BLOCKS to this great dive bar I know?
3. The lit-up restaurant where Matt Murdock takes Karen Page on a date is super close to Luke Cage’s bar. They probably could have gone in for a nightcap if the Defenders had been formed already.
Shit. Well, at least she lives near Daredevil too.
2. Jessica Jones’s best friend, Patsy Walker, lives dangerously close to Kilgrave. Considering how often Jessica and Patsy talk in whispers about what he did, they’d be even more frightened to know he was chilling a couple blocks away.
1. Peggy Carter clearly planned out her life according to Steve Rogers after he “died.” Her favorite diner is right by the hospital where he was born, and her apartment is right by the S.H.I.E.L.D. secret headquarters where he wakes up decades after she’s bedridden.
Once we put together the clearly-defined events of Marvel’s Netflix TV shows and Disney movies, we were left with the events of Fox’s films, including Deadpool .
Figuring Out the Deadpool Map
Before releasing the map, we had to solve the Deadpool problem. Though Deadpool (2016) almost certainly takes place outside New York City, Fox and Marvel were so dedicated to keeping it out of the MCU’s primary timeline that all of the street signs that would have indicated each scene’s location in New York were changed to comic book artist and writer names.
While funny, the street signs in 'Deadpool' are really unhelpful.
Though we can’t pinpoint where the events of Deadpool take place, we’ve added an optional set of pins for the best estimates we were able to muster, given the fact that Deadpool visits Xavier’s Institute in Westchester without flying. Some comics put Deadpool’s adventures in Chicago, but because the film doesn’t specify, we can assume he’s in New York.
When Colossus watches the news early on in Deadpool , he overhears a journalist say, “shots fired on the crosstown expressway.” If Deadpool’s first fight scene occurs on the Cross Bronx Expressway, and the visuals indicate that three separate highways are overlapping where he jumps into a car, we can assume he’s fighting in Schuylerville in the Bronx, where 678, 95, and 295 all merge .
Now, because Dopinder tries to charge Deadpool $27.50 for his New York City cab ride to this location, and NYC cabs currently charge $2.50 per mile, plus the “standard City fare rate of $3.30, which includes a 50-cent State surcharge and a 30-cent Improvement surcharge.” From that, we can assume that that Deadpool’s apartment with Blind Al is within a 9.36-mile radius of that drop-off point. It is, therefore, extremely likely that Wade Wilson and Al live in the Bronx.
On Wade and Vanessa’s first date, they visit an indoor arcade that appears to have both skee-ball and a bowling alley. That narrows the number of bars-with-games down quite a bit. If this locale is close enough to Hellhouse, aka “Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Children,” and isn’t a shiny, brand-name establishment like Dave & Buster’s or Chuck E. Cheese’s, it’s probably Fun Fuzion in New Rochelle.
Figuring out Hellhouse’s location proved more difficult, but a throwaway joke Wade makes when speaking to Agent Smith — “we’re within 50 yards of a school” — can be taken as gospel (though it’s probably not). That means if Hellhouse is in the Bronx, and if it’s close enough to Fun Fuzion, we can assume Wade is jokingly referring to the North Bronx, where most schools in the borough relocated. That also means Vanessa and Wade were close enough to Fun Fuzion upon meeting at Hellhouse that they traveled the short distance to play skee-ball.
When Wade follows Vanessa from work to her old apartment, we see that it’s most likely in Chinatown, as all the signs Vanessa passes are written in Chinese. (You’ve already suspended disbelief long enough, so ignoring the fact that these locations don’t look anything like actual New York Chinatown shouldn’t be an issue.)
The final fight scene in Deadpool takes place at a maritime port near the rest of the film’s events, and there’s one large highway near it. Considering those landmarks, we can assume it could take place at Port Morris in the Bronx.
The Mapping Has Only Begun
We’ll add locations from each new episode of The Defenders . Also, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be largely set in Queens, so the events of that film will help us flesh out Peter Parker’s corner of New York City. As of this writing, we have included Peter Parker’s high school, and the location of one of his movie posters (overlooking the Avengers Tower) on our map, but we’ll add more come July.
Thor: Ragnarok will spend a very short time in New York City, as the post-credits scene in Doctor Strange indicated, and Infinity War could include a scene or two in the Big Apple, though reports say both of those films will take place in space, for the most part. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t currently represented in full, so we may add locations from the show to the map in time.
As for future Marvel TV shows, we’ve included the location of Squirrel Girl’s fictional alma mater and Port Authority, where Cloak and Dagger typically meet in comics canon. Legion does not take place in New York City, and neither will Runaways . Marvel’s as-yet-untitled X-Men show will likely take place in Westchester, so the events of that show could feasibly create new locations on our map. Inhumans could potentially add locations as well.

New York Undercover Cast Set to Reunite for National Tour in Honor of Show’s 30th Anniversary (Exclusive)
The beloved police procedural, starring Malik Yoba, Luna Lauren Velez and Michael DeLorenzo, aired on Fox from 1994 to 1999
The cast of New York Undercover is hitting the road!
In PEOPLE's exclusive look at the Monday, April 29 episode of Tamron Hall , Malik Yoba, Luna Lauren Velez and Michael DeLorenzo reveal that the cast of the police drama will be embarking on a tour across the United States in celebration of the show's 30th anniversary.
"We're here not just to talk about the 30-year anniversary, but how we can bring this moment forward," Yoba, 56, explains. "Audiences has never had a chance to have this experience with us so we intend to go on the road as [a] cast."
Jeff Neira/DISNEY
After host Tamron Hall and the audience react with shock, Yoba shares "another iconic" reveal.
"We're going to hit markets across America. We're working with artists that have performed on the show," he continues as the crowd cheers.
New York Undercover aired from Fox from 1994 to 1999. The iconic police procedural followed the story of two undercover detectives, J.C. Williams (Yoba) and Eddie Torres (DeLorenzo). The series included a diverse cast and was one of the first procedurals to cast BIPOC actors in leading roles. It also told realistic storylines that tackles issues from parenting to racism, sexism and drug abuse.
In 2018, Deadline reported that ABC had ordered a pilot for a New York Undercover reboot series.
At the time, the outlet reported that the new series would pick up 20 years after the original show's end. The reboot was to follow detectives Nat Gilmore and Melissa Ortiz and their investigations into the Big Apple's most dangerous criminals from Harlem to Battery Park. Some original cast members were expected to reprise their roles.

The reboot was to be written and executive produced by Dick Wolf, co-creator of the original series, and Ben Watkins.
However, the network scrapped its plans for the revival. Though New York Undercover 's return to television looks unlikely, Deadline reported that the reboot was getting pitched to other networks in 2020.

Tour guides flock to a trivia competition that demands encyclopedic knowledge of NYC
Emily Malterre
The Panorama Challenge is one of the fiercest trivia competition in New York and requires encyclopedic knowledge of the city. It's where tour guides can shine.
SCOTT DETROW, HOST:
The Panorama Challenge is one of the fiercest trivia competitions in New York City. It takes place at the Queens Museum, which houses a scale model of New York that was first created for the 1964 World's Fair. This annual trivia challenge requires encyclopedic knowledge of the city and attracts those who know it best, mostly tour guides. Earlier this month, reporter Emily Malterre attended the 2024 Panorama Challenge.
JONATHAN TURER: How many people in the room have been to Panorama Challenge before?
EMILY MALTERRE, BYLINE: Quizmaster Jonathan Turer welcomes the crowd.
TURER: How many people have one Panorama Challenge before?
MALTERRE: Two hundred New York City nerds are ready for a cutthroat competition. It's the first year back from the pandemic.
MEGAN MAROD: Well, so we're all a part of team GANYC Panic. It stands for the Guides Association of New York City.
MALTERRE: Megan Marod is a proud, licensed tour guide. This eight-member team has never won the Panorama Challenge since it started in 2007.
MAROD: I think everyone's happy. It's a lot of history fanatics and New York City fanatics all, like, at a history and New York City fanatic party.
MALTERRE: The competitors are all standing on walkways above the Panorama exhibit. They look down on 895,000 miniature buildings, plus trees, roads, even a tiny plane on a string that continuously takes off and lands at the airport. It gives you the feeling that you are looming over the city. The model includes all five boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Ayinde Stevens is a guide who specializes in the subway and gives tours of Grand Central Terminal. He says he's mostly prepared.
AYINDE STEVENS: I feel really good tonight except for one category - Staten Island. I love New York City to death, but I barely go to Staten Island.
MALTERRE: The competition includes some general New York trivia, but half of the questions are extra niche, like this one, which starts with a clip from the movie "Enchanted."
(SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC)
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: The finale of this musical number takes place in front of a sculpture created by the first woman to receive a public art commission in New York City. Pros, name the sculptor.
MALTERRE: If you didn't immediately have sculptor Emma Stebbins on the tip of your tongue, don't worry, neither did I. And some questions get quite technical.
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: Pros, from 1951 to 1953, which agency ran the subways from the offices located above the tracks at Jay Street?
MALTERRE: There are people here who actually knew the answer...
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: Wow.
MALTERRE: ...The New York City Board of Transportation, which existed only until the 1950s. Sixty questions later, the judges tally up scores. David Madore, a tour guide and Broadway musician, was hopeful about GANYC Panic's chances.
You had concerns about Staten Island. How did that go?
DAVID MADORE: Well, we still have concerns about Staten Island regardless, but we seemed to come through on a few of those questions.
MALTERRE: Then it's time for the big reveal from Quizmaster Turer.
TURER: In first place...
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #2: Oh, God.
TURER: ...With 57 points, GANYC Panic.
MALTERRE: The prize for winning the Panorama Challenge? Their team name carved on a plaque and bragging rights for the rest of the year.
For NPR News, I'm Emily Malterre in New York.

The State Department Kept His Proposal on Course
Ben Krauss flew to Athens to propose to Shana Mansbach, with the help of her State Department colleagues, on the last stop of a European tour.
By Rosalie R. Radomsky
It never bothered Benjamin Andrew Krauss in the slightest if Shana Gabrielle Mansbach took a call from Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, while they were out to dinner, and then ran off to draft a letter or a speech.
“That happened not infrequently,” said Mr. Krauss, 40, who knew the situation all too well. “This is the nature of what we do.”
The two Washington speechwriters had never met or heard of each other before connecting on the Hinge dating app in July 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“He was in his bubble, I was in mine,” said Ms. Mansbach, 31. “He has done amazing work mainly in the campaign space. I do government stuff.”
Until 2022, Ms. Mansbach had worked as the senior communications adviser and director of speechwriting for Ms. Pelosi. She is now a speechwriter and a senior adviser to Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.
“We were mutually intrigued,” said Ms. Mansbach, who graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in politics, philosophy and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Krauss, who has a bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth, is the chief executive of Fenway, a speechwriting and communications firm in Washington. In 2018, he was the chief political speechwriter for Joseph R. Biden Jr. Additionally, he has served as a speechwriter for the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Mr. Biden.
“I knew we would hit it off, and start dating,” Ms. Mansbach said. As they messaged and texted each other, Ms. Mansbach ultimately decided that it was best to keep her distance for the time being. After a five-year relationship ended in May 2020, she was in no rush to jump into another.
“She was very engaging, then she would temporarily vanish,” said Mr. Krauss, who patiently waited two months for their first date.
In September 2020, she rode a Capital Bikeshare bicycle to his condominium in Northeast Washington. After he greeted her with a big hug, they had cocktails on the roof of his rowhouse.
For the next six hours, they were never at a loss for words, but they paused long enough at the end of the evening for a kiss.
“It was a very good first kiss,” she said, and as she predicted they started seeing each other regularly.
A week later, she returned for his specialty “eggplant à la Ben,” she said, or eggplant Parmesan. “The house smelled wonderful.”
He loved cooking and prepared Eastern European dishes for her, like stuffed cabbage and borscht with sour cream. Ms. Mansbach, who grew up in Columbia, Md., made crab cakes and potato salad.
They took day trips around Washington, and in November he came up with something way more exotic: a weeklong trip to Bora Bora.
After some hesitation, and consultation with friends and family, she agreed to go in December.
“I’d wake up at 4 in the morning, and sit outside and watch the sun come up,” she said, recalling her time working remotely.
In May 2021, during a 10-day trip, they drove across Georgia (the country, not the state), where he had been for his first consulting job at a firm doing opinion research for its president, Mikheil Saakashvili, and they also stopped in eastern Kyiv in Ukraine.
In spring 2022, they adopted Sasha, a foxhound rescue, and that July Ms. Mansbach moved into his condo. “Any bit of uncertainty evaporated,” she said.
Mr. Krauss supported her as she geared up for her first marathon, and on the day of the race, in Philadelphia, he sprinted around the city with her friends and family to cheer her on.
“It was in the 20s that day, with 50-mile-an-hour gusts,” she said.
When they visited Mr. Krauss’s parents in Katonah, N.Y., in January 2023, they found the perfect wedding venue 20 minutes away, Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, N.Y., and booked it before their engagement.
In February 2023, keeping very much in character, he took off on a secret mission to Athens — his proposal.
“Her colleagues helped in the subterfuge,” he said, and with their help, he caught up with her in Athens at the end of a weeklong European State Department tour.
A colleague had called to tell Ms. Mansbach, who was about to go to sleep, that Mr. Blinken was about to toast staffers on the roof of their hotel — Hotel Grande Bretagne, which had a view of the Parthenon. So she went up there.
Instead, only Mr. Krauss was waiting for her and got down on one knee.
“I did not prepare a speech,” he said, and spoke from the heart.
They took “the long way home,” he said, celebrating in Berlin at a concert featuring her favorite violinist, Joshua Bell, and the next evening with dinner in Paris.
On April 13, Cantor Laura Stein officiated at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, before 150 guests while the couple stood under a huppah with the same tallit her parents were married under.
“We know we’re headed into what promises to be a busy year,” Mr. Krauss said, “and we’re just glad to have each other.”

New york yankees at milwaukee brewers odds, picks and predictions, share this article.
The New York Yankees (17-10) and Milwaukee Brewers (17-8) play the 2nd game of a 3-game series at American Family Field Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Yankees vs. Brewers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Brewers lead 1-0
The Yankees, who were -134 favorites, lost 7-6 in the series opener Friday with the Over (9) hitting in Milwaukee. New York has lost 2 straight for the 1st time since a 3-game skid from April 14-16.
Four runs were driven in by 3B Joey Ortiz of the Brewers, who cashed as +124 underdogs. He walked it off with an RBI single in the 11th to give Milwaukee its 3rd straight win.
Yankees at Brewers projected starters
LHP Carlos Rodón vs. RHP Joe Ross
Rodón (1-1, 2.70 ERA) makes his 6th start. He has a 1.35 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9 and 7.4 K/9 in 26 2/3 innings.
- Last start: No-decision, 7 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K in 2-0 home loss vs. Oakland A’s Monday
- Career vs. Brewers: 0-1, 3.27 ERA (11 IP, 4 ER), 1.82 WHIP in 3 starts
Ross (1-2, 4.05 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.55 WHIP, 4.1 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 in 20 innings.
- Last start: Loss, 5 1/3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 6 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 4-2 loss at Pittsburgh Pirates Monday
- Career vs. Yankees: 0-0, 3.60 ERA (5 IP, 2 ER), 3 H, 5 BB, 7 K in 1 start, a 3-2 road loss with Washington Nationals May 9, 2021

Yankees at Brewers odds

- Moneyline (ML) : Yankees -120 (bet $120 to win $100) | Brewers +100 (bet $100 to win $100)
- Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS) : Yankees -1.5 (+135) | Brewers +1.5 (-165)
- Over/Under (O/U) : 8.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)
Yankees at Brewers picks and predictions
Yankees 4, Brewers 3
While I like the Yankees to bounce back after losing 2 straight games, I’m more confident in Rodón’s ability to limit the Brewers offense in the 1st 5 innings. He hasn’t allowed more than 3 runs in a start this season and pitched 7 scoreless innings last time out.
BET YANKEES FIRST 5 INNINGS ( -120 ).
Run line/Against the spread
Taking the Yankees to win by multiple runs after back-to-back losses seems a little aggressive, and Brewers +1.5 is too expensive at -165.
PASS . Bet New York in the 1st 5 innings and/or the total instead.
If Rodón picks up where he left off against the A’s, then it’s unlikely that the Brewers will score more than 3 runs. Add in the fact that the Yankees have scored 4 or fewer in 6 of their last 11 games, and we have a decent shot at seeing fewer than 8.5 runs Saturday.
BET UNDER 8.5 ( -105 ).

Ellis Kaplan , a quirky and beloved veteran New York Post shutterbug who made Queens courts his unrivaled turf during a spectacular four-decade career, has died.
Kaplan was found dead earlier this week in the same Jamaica, Queens apartment he lived in since 1963, and where he once cared for his mother before she died at the age of 101, recalled longtime colleagues and friends.
He joined The Post in 1981 and soon became a mainstay in his home borough, where he knew just about every judge, prosecutor, court officer and lawyer.
“Ellis Kaplan had the Queens courthouse wired,” recalled Post reporter Kevin Sheehan.
“When there was a press office [at the courthouse], judges would stop by and tell Ellis, ‘I have a great story for you.’ I never saw any other press rooms where judges would walk in and tell photographers they have a great story.”
Lia Eustachewich, The Post’s managing editor of news, also fondly recalled working with Kaplan during her reporting days.
“I’ll always remember Ellis for his colorful personality — and rocking up to scenes in his giant Hummer, of course,” said Eustachewich.
“A quintessential son of Queens, he served on the frontlines of the tabloid wars during a bygone era. He was a friendly face on door knocks, an expert when it came to Queens court, and was truly dedicated to his photography. As we say on the streets, we’ll see you on the next one, Ellis.”
Some of his most recent New York Post front page photos included a 2019 shot of a Queens hoarder filling her front yard with trash, under the headline, “FILTH AVE.”
A 2022 cover demanding “JUSTICE” featured a Kaplan photo of a New York City cabbie’s widow, after she broke down in tears recalling how she told her kids their father was killed by a group of thugs during a robbery.
Kaplan’s other passions, besides photography, included being a Queens history buff, and collecting World War II rifles and other historic weapons, which he’d routinely fire at outdoor shooting ranges on Long Island, according to friends.
He also enjoyed telling jokes on assignments and making reporters and other photographers laugh.
Kaplan once boasted his parents submitted his photo to Gerber Foods when he was an infant and that he had brief fame as a “Gerber baby during the 1940’s,” recalled longtime friend and photographer Kevin Downs.
Bruce Cotler, president of the New York Press Photographers Association, called Kaplan a Queens institution who will be sorely missed.
“He knew everything about Queens and what to do,” said Cotler.
“And he had a distinct laugh that everyone will remember.”
A gofundme page was set up for Kaplan to pay for a Jewish burial.
