Niall Horan Skirts One Direction Reunion Rumors â but Reveals the Band Is Still Close
Directioners, it's definitely not the time to give up hope for a One Direction renaissance. Ever since One Direction split in 2016, rumors have been circulating on pretty much a monthly basis about whether Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik will ever reunite. They've been dispelled time and time again, but according to Horan, although a musical reunion may not be on the way, the band is very much still in contact.
In a May 25 interview with E! News , Horan shared that the former bandmates still regularly correspond. "We've had three or four group chats," he said, sharing that there's now a new, particularly active one. "Some of them have been more quiet than others. This new one is definitely louder than most, and it's been great," he said. "I'm sure if I had a look at my phone in a few minutes I'd see some messages." Still, when asked if any One Direction bandmates would appear on his forthcoming album, "The Show," he had a clear response. "No," he said. "Now that's a straight and easy answer."
Earlier in May, during an interview at a Wembley Arena boxing match on May 13 , Horan's fellow One Directioner Tomlinson also discussed the band's new chat. "I don't know," he said when asked if he thought the group would reunite at any point, "but we've just made a new group chat. That's something."
In April, though, another One Direction member did seem to suggest that a One Direction collaboration or reunion could be on the horizon. Appearing on the last ever "The Late Late Show With James Corden" on April 27, Styles sat on the sofa with his longtime friend, Corden, and Will Ferrell. The three played a final game of "Spill Your Guts," in which the celebrities get asked an awkward question and have to decide to answer or face a forfeit of eating something pretty disgusting. Styles was asked: "Yes or no, will there be a One Direction reunion? Will it ever happen?" As the crowd screamed, Styles answered: "I would never say never to that. I think if there was a time when we all felt that was what we want to do, then I don't see why we wouldn't." Now, we don't know about you, but that sounds like a (sort of) confirmation, right? Even Corden said: "I'm taking that as a yes!"
Social media had been alight with gossip that the boyband would all be appearing on "The Late Late Show"'s last episode together. They have all appeared on the "Carpool Karaoke" segment previously, and played tattoo roulette, which ended with Styles getting the show's logo inked on his arm. The four remaining members have all appeared on the show individually, too, but the TV reunion was swiftly denied in the run-up to the last show.
It was three years ago when the rumor mill last began spinning out of control as fans believed that One Direction would reunite for their 10-year anniversary in 2020. A decade had gone by since the band was formed on "The X Factor," and Payne even got fans riled up by telling The Sun : "We've got a 10-year anniversary coming up, so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice," he said. "To hear a lot of people's voices and seeing old content and different things that we haven't seen for a long time or never seen before, it's very interesting. At the moment I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say." Yet sadly, perhaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic, nothing came to fruition.
While the boys are no stranger to the reunion gossip, we have to admit there are clues that are stacking up. The members have all been spotted supporting each other individually, with Payne most recently attending the premiere of Tomlinson's "All of Those Voices" film . Styles thanked his former bandmates as he collected his win at the 2023 Brits , and Horan and Payne congratulated him on his recent win at the Grammys . Styles added fuel to the fire when he posted a photo of him wearing a One Direction tshirt in the gym in March before quickly deleting it. And in August 2022, Malik took to Instagram to offer fans an acoustic snippet of "Night Changes."
While there is no concrete evidence of a One Direction reunion in the works currently, it can't be denied that the signs are adding up. And with Styles confirming he would be on board, we'll be keeping an eye out for the "Little Things" pointing towards the big reunion moment.

Members of One Direction Reportedly Just Recorded New Music Together
Excuse me???????
Hearts broke around the world when One Direction announced they were going on "hiatus" following their last tour as a band in 2015.
Since then, hopes for a reunion have been rife among fans (hi), hopes which were promptly slashed time after time—like when we thought we would finally get something for their 10-year anniversary in 2020, but all we got was a website full of memories from brighter times.
But now, it's looking like we might be able to hope once more, because a report has emerged that band members Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson recently hopped into the studio with Liam Payne (he of "I used to be in 1D, now I'm free" fame).
Sources told The Sun that, while Payne was working on his second solo studio album in Los Angeles, his former bandmates came to hang out or jam or something, and ended up contributing vocals to one of the songs.
"Liam is great pals with Niall and Louis, so loved catching up with them while they were all in L.A.," an insider said.
"Being in the studio together felt natural, so they all jumped on a track.
"It was second nature to them singing together and felt like old times. They had a right laugh.

"Producers are hoping Liam includes it on his finished album, fans will love it."
"Love" is putting it mildly, if you ask me.
News of Payne's upcoming album comes amid what sounds like a happier season for the singer, who recently revealed that he is "over 100 days" sober.
"I feel amazing. I feel really, really good," he told iFL TV . "The support from the fans and everything has been really, really good, so I'm super happy."
Of course, those with a soft spot for former band members Harry Styles and Zayn Malik will be disappointed to hear that they were not included in the mini reunion, but here's hoping all five boys are thriving on whichever path they choose.

Got a Hot tip?
Proof is one direction getting back together everything they’ve said about a reunion.

Ever since they announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus in 2015, fans of One Direction have been patiently waiting for the band to return.
The group (which consisted of Louis Tomlinson , Niall Horan , Liam Payne , Harry Styles  and Zayn Malik ) was put together by Simon Cowell  on July 23, 2010, after they all auditioned on The X Factor as solo artists. On July 23, 2020, the boys celebrated their 10-year anniversary with the launch of an âimmersive and interactiveâ website .
According to a press release , the site took the âform of a timeline charting the history of the group, from the first audition right up to the start of their hiatus. It will host an archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content, all in one place.â There was also a new video that highlighted the bandâs career from the start to releasing âHistory.â
A few months after the epic 1D milestone, Liam said heâs hoping for more One Direction coming soon. âI think we just need a proper catch up actually,â he said during a December 2020 interview with CapitalFM . âIt was nice to catch up for the ten year anniversary. Iâm hoping weâve got a lot more to come from us.â
Months later, in March 2021, Niall reflected on his time in the band and what it was like dealing with fans at the height of 1Dâs fame. âI struggled with the idea of, âWhy wonât you just let us out?'â the singer recalled on People, Just People . âBut, you canât get inside the brain of a fan and now I completely get it, but at the time, youâre like, âYouâre our age. Just let us out.'â
Despite their busy schedules, the boys are still close. In fact, in June 2021 during an Instagram Live , Liam revealed that he and Harry had a âlovelyâ phone conversation. âI spoke to him and it was a really lovely catch up actually, and Iâve got a lot of love for the man. Heâs great, heâs really, really great,â the singer said, noting that heâd love for all the boys âto get in a room at some point.â Weâd love that too!
Since they decided to go their separate ways, thereâs not a day thatâs gone by that fans havenât longed for them to make a comeback, so this brand new website is seriously a dream come true! In honor of the exciting announcement, J-14 went ahead and rounded up everything the boys have ever said about the possibility of them reuniting over the years, so get excited, people! Scroll through our gallery to see what each member of One Direction has said about the bandâs comeback.

Rumors Have Never âStoppedâ
âItâs not like itâs ever stopped. Itâs just, like, the conversation hasnât happened. Itâs a great legacy to have. No, I donât think it sucks the air out the room. Itâs more, the answerâs still the same,â Niall said during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 in June 2023. âThe conversation hasnât happened. We speak regularly, but that conversation hasnât happened. God knows whether it ends up being. It could be like the Friends reunion, it could be a whole tour. God knows what it is, but no, it hasnât been spoken about.â

âNever Say Neverâ
âI would never say never to that,â Harry said after being asked about a 1D reunion on The Late Late Show with James Corden in April 2023. âIf there was a time where we all felt like that was what we wanted to do, I donât see why we wouldnât.â
Maybe In the Future
âGetting back together at some point is hard to imagine right now,â Louis sheared during an interview with U.K.âs The Times in February 2023. âBut Iâd be surprised if we lived out our lives and didnât have a moment where we had a reunion, or whatever you want to call it. Iâd be up for that.â

Will a Reunion Work?
âWhen you look at it on paper, itâs like, âHow the fâkâs it all gonna fit back together?â Weâre all making very different music, doing our own thing, all busy all the time,â Louis shared during a November 2022 interview with The Telegraph . âSo I donât see anything happening for at least another 10 years, but you never know. It looks pretty jumbled. But I think there is a world where it all kind of fits together.â

Getting Back Together âOne Dayâ
âOne day, thereâs a lot of moving parts but it would be a shame if we didnât. I hope so,â Louis said on U.K.âs Lorraine in September 2022 about the possibly of a One Direction reunion.
Erik Pendzich/Shutterstock
A âGreatâ Possibility
âI mean I think the thought of it is really nice, Iâd love for there to be a time where it felt like something we all wanted to do,â Harry said on the âSpoutâ podcast  in June 2022. âI very much enjoyed those albums that you mentioned. I think we all went through something really special together and thereâs a lot of love there. So, yeah, I think if thereâs a moment for us to do it the right way, I think itâd be great.â
Beretta/Sims/Shutterstock
Having a Chat
âNo one really talks about [a reunion],â he admitted on the Jonathan Ross Show in June 2021. âIf everyone wanted to do it, Iâd be down for it. Theyâre probably slim right now, currently. We need to all get in the same room and have a chat. I donât know when that would be.â
Niall continued, âUnless everyone was completely in, I wouldnât want to do it. I wouldnât want to force someone into doing it.â

Showing Love for the Band
âLook I fâking love One Direction,â he told U.K.âs The Telegraph in November 2020. âIâm sure weâre going to come back together one day, and Iâll be doing a couple of One Direction songs in my gig. I always do that, so thatâs not alluding to any reunion or anything. But, I mean, look, Iâm sure one day weâll get back together because, you know, we were fâking great.â

Celebrating 10 Years
âObviously, we know itâs a very big anniversary and we definitely want to do something. I mean, itâs a tough one. I canât promise any reunion plans because it just isnât it right now. I always put it down to music language because everyoneâs releasing at the moment with like two years worth of promo,â Liam told People Magazine  in May 2020. âBut, you know, it still seems very hopeful in that department. Iâm starting to think itâs gonna happen at some point. So itâs exciting.â
He added, âItâs been nice to open up the channels of communication again because we hadnât spoken for a while. And I think we all needed that after spending so much time together â just to figure out our own selves as people because we all know what we are in the band. We spent so much time together that I didnât know where the f**k I fit in by the time it finished. It was kind of crazy. But itâs been nice. Itâs been so lovely. And itâs just nice to see everyone turned out to be nice people, you know?â
David Fisher/Shutterstock
When It Will Happen
âI think we match each other for excitement. Where we left off with the band, we had just finished an album and we didnât get to tour it so thereâs always been that little thing thatâs been missing from it,â Liam explained in May 2020 . âEveryone Iâve spoken to, we always get onto the topic of the reunion at some point, itâs not like anyone is trying to dodge it, itâs just a matter of when.â
Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock
The 10-Year Anniversary
âWeâve got a ten-year anniversary coming up so weâve all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice,â Liam also told The Sun in April 2020. âAt the moment Iâm not sure what Iâm allowed to say. Thereâs a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around. But more than anything itâs just been a real good time for us to connect together again.â

A Virtual Reunion?
Fans were living when the Backstreet Boys had a virtual reunion during the coronavirus pandemic . Yep, because they were practicing social distancing and couldnât meet up during the outbreak, they all got on video chat together and performed some songs and recorded it for the fans. When the radio hosts from the British morning show Heart Breakfast asked Harry if he was interested in doing something similar with the One Direction, he explained, âI mean weâre not working right now so probably not this second, it would be an interesting way of doing a reunion for sure. It would be an interesting way to reunite.â
He also told Sirius XM Â in April 2020, âI donât know if that is the reunion that weâve had in mind, and not sure if that would be the way to do, but yeah, Iâll have a quick whip-around.â
BabiradPicture/Shutterstock
Getting Back Together
Liam spoke out about it once again while appearing on The Late, Late Show With James Corden  in April 2020.
âIâm not allowed to say too much obviously because I would be giving it away,â he said. âWeâve been speaking a lot more at the moment, I think we are all feeling that that ten year⊠Itâs a very special moment.â
Nothing Planned Just Yet
In another interview, he insisted that the guys werenât planning a reunion after all. He explained  in April 2020, âObviously, thereâs a lot of talk about it at the moment, because the 10-year anniversary of the band getting together is happening this year. Itâs absolutely nuts, itâs strange. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, sometimes it feels like it was 50 years ago. Itâs strange, but no, thereâs no reunion, as such. Weâve just been talking a bit more, recently.â
MediaPunch/Shutterstock
A Confident âYesâ
While participating in James Corden âs Carpool Karaoke in March 2020, the talk show host hooked the singer up to a lie detector test. When he asked him if he thought the band would get back together, Niall said âyesâ â which according to the machine, was the truth!
Larry Marano/Shutterstock
Wanting to Return
âWeâd be absolutely ridiculous not to reform the band,â he told RTE in February 2020. âWe havenât really spoken about the whens, but we know we will. We have all said individually that we will and I think it would be stupid if we didnât.â
Havenât Talked About Reuniting
While attending the 2020 Brit Awards in February 2020, Niall explained , âThe answer is, we donât know [when]. We havenât spoken about it, and youâll know if we do.â
Richard Young/Shutterstock
Maybe in the Future
âWeâve been on a break only for about four years, and Iâm only now getting around to releasing my first album,â he explained to BBC Â in January 2020. âFans who follow our move every day probably feel like we havenât been a band for a while, but Iâm just finding my feet. Itâll happen at one point. Weâd be stupid not to, but weâre just exploring and enjoying life as individuals now.â
Broadimage/Shutterstock
Louis Is in Charge
He also told Cosmopolitan in January 2020 that if he had to guess, heâd be the one to send the initial, âAlright boys, letâs do this,â message. But he also admitted that if the guys were to get back together, the music would have to be different. He explained that although the songs were great, they were reflective of the fact that they were being performed by teenagers. As for when the reunion will take place, he said, âAnything past 35 feels too late,â but didnât want to think too far into the future.
âI think at some point we will get back together. I think we will for sure,â he told Sunday Brunch in December 2019. âI donât know when that is yet, but all I know is that there are at least two years because everyoneâs released new music and you have to go and promo. There are at least two years.â
Talking to the Boys
âWe have been talking a lot more recently and I canât imagine we wouldnât finish the story where we did,â Liam revealed in December 2019. âHowever, the guys are doing so well individually and they are experiencing new things like film and TV, so it will probably be a little while if it ever happens.â
Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock
Never Say Never
âI donât think Iâd ever say never,â Harry told Kiss 106.5 in November 2019. âI definitely never say never. You know it was a massive part of my life and something that we always have. Itâs a pretty amazing thing to be part of.â
As for when the reunion will take place, he continued, âIf a time comes around when everyone wants to do it. Weâre all going on tour [next year] but if it works out, well talk about it.â
Even Simon Is Hopeful
Simon , who originally formed the band back on The X Factor , said he thinks the boys will get back together âwithin five years.â
âMy gut feeling is yes,â he said on the U.K. radio show Heart Breakfast  in November 2019. âI mean, theyâre all doing great solo wise, at the moment, but they had a lot of hits. So, they could do tour, after tour, after tour. You know you could sell out a One Direction gig, or a stadium tour, in about 20 seconds.â
Finding the Time
âEverybody outwardly in the press has said something but we havenât really spoke as a collective together,â Liam said on The Jonathan Ross Show in October 2019. âAll I can say is, through album cycles and single cycles, I see everybody putting songs out at the moment, I donât think for at least the next two years itâs going to happen.â
Dymond/Thames/Syco/Shutterstock
Louis Wasnât Ready for a Break
âI wasnât really ready for the band to go on a break,â he told Metro in October 2019. âAs far as I am concerned, I am happy doing what I am doing. But the day that [a reunion] does happen, and everyone is ready to do it, I am ready.â
Enjoying Solo Life
âThere was no timeline on the gap. I would have preferred if someone said five years, and it probably will end up something like that,â he revealed to The Telegraph in October 2019. âIâm enjoying what Iâm doing, but if one of the lads were to pick up the phone and say itâs time, Iâd do it.â
James Shaw/Shutterstock
Talking With the Boys
âI say different times all the time,â Liam said in an interview with Sirius XM in September 2019, when asked about when the band will reunite. âItâs difficult. I havenât spoken to Harry in a while, so I donât know where his head is at with [a reunion.] I heard he mentioned it in some sort of magazine thing or whatever the other day, which is cool.â
But according to the âStrip That Downâ crooner, Niall and Louis are definitely on board.
âI think everybody else has been really outspoken. I think theyâre ready to go whenever,â he continued. âI think Niall was ready the day we decided to stop. He was like, âIâm sure weâre coming back in tomorrow, boys!â He was just ready to go.â
Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
â100 Percentâ
âThereâs gotta be! 100 percent,â Louis told 1883 Magazine about a 1D reunion in 2019. âAs far as Iâm concerned, we are all good at doing our individual stuff right now and itâs great for yourself as an individual, but the day we do get back together will be a magical day for all of us. I think everyone is in the same boat when it comes to this. Itâs inevitable and the question is just when are we going to do it. Now that we are on this break, I can look back and say it was massive, but looking from the other side you can see the influence and the importance. Thatâs really cool, just seeing our positive influence. We were such a powerhouse. Itâs a no-brainer. Iâm the first to sign the sheets to get back together.â
Michael Buckner/Variety/Shutterstock
Harry Is on Board
âI donât think Iâd ever say Iâd never do it again, because I donât feel that way. If thereâs a time when we all really want to do it, thatâs the only time for us to do it, because I donât think it should be about anything else other than the fact that weâre all like, âHey, this was really fun. We should do this again,ââ he told Rolling Stone  in August 2019. âBut until that time, I feel like Iâm really enjoying making music and experimenting. I enjoy making music this way too much to see myself doing a full switch, to go back and do that again. Because I also think if we went back to doing things the same way, it wouldnât be the same, anyway.â
Itâs âInevitableâ
âI do think it will happen,â he told ITN in May 2019. âIâd certainly have something to say about it if it didnât. I think itâs inevitable. âWhen?â is the big question. Thatâs something none of us really know the answer to at the moment.â
Staying In Touch
And when asked if he still keeps in touch with the boys, Louis confirmed once again that theyâre as close as ever .
âAbsolutely yeah, we all keep in contact you know what I mean, the lads sent me some messages,â he told KIIS 106.5 Â in April 2019 while promoting his hit song âTwo Of Us.â âIâve had a text from all the lads actually about the song so that was really nice.â
Plus, he dropped a major hint about the reunion once again.
âAnd in terms of getting back together⊠at some point obviously,â Louis continued. âLike you know what I mean, weâve got a lot of people that we owe it to really. So I think everyoneâs on the same page now. Weâre all just doing our own thing.â
Hitting the Road Again
âMy dream is that one day we go back on tour together as a band. That would be fâking ace,â he told House of Solo Magazine in March 2019.
Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Having Discussions About When
âWe havenât started talking about it yet, but the truth is that it would be wrong not to meet even one day, it would be wrong for fans too,â Louis told Vanity Fair Italy in March 2019. âThe problem is to say when. We are all engaged in our careers. I saw Liam at X Factor , he came in an episode as a guest judge . We talked a lot, it was nice. Then I went to see Niall on tour. The truth is that we canât hear each other or see each other much, but we have a unique, uncommon bond.â
Missing the Band
âI miss the band every day â Iâd be lying if I said I didnât. Of course I do,â Louis told inews.co.uk in February 2019. âIt was an amazing time, so when you donât have that same rhythm, you feel it. But thatâs what drives me. It gives me something to aim for again. And obviously in an ideal world, who knows when, we get back together at some point and you know⊠whatever. But having that idea in my head of working really hard every single day, that gave me a target.â
Estimating a Reunion Date
Speaking to Daily Star , at the BRIT Awards in February 2019, the âStrip That Downâ crooner explained, âLast time I said a date it was 2020 and weâre still not there yet so Iâm just going to go with that and we will have to wait. Everyoneâs enjoying doing their own thing.â
A Possibility
When asked if thereâs a chance that 1D could get back together at the BMI Awards in October 2018, Liam said, âThere is, definitely.â
âI saw Louis recently for something that I cannot say,â he continued (we now know he was referring to The X Factor .) âIâve been in touch with Niall and Harry a little bit. I think it would be nice if we could get back together, but weâll see. In time. All in good time.â
âEnjoyingâ Their Time Off
âWeâre all just enjoying our time, but for me, thereâs no way with a band like One Direction that itâs not going to happen again,â Louis said in September 2018. âItâs just impossible to say when. Itâs got to.â
Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Doing Their Own Thing
âThis is kind of like a little chapter in the middle where weâre doing our own thing,â he told Billboard  during Pop Shop podcast in July 2018. âYou canât rule anything out really, can you? I suppose right now it would be a bit weird, but I never rule anything out, to be honest.â
Wanting to Tour
While speaking to Nick Grimshaw during the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show in April 2018, the singer had some epic ideas for their reunion tour.
âThis is the only way One Direction could get any bigger than it was. These next couple years, if we do well in our solo careers, imagine the concert of five massive solo artists coming together and doing their own thing. Youâll get five concerts in one! It will be amazing,â Liam said. âI think [we] could pop out with different tunes at different times. And people could join in. Maybe Louis could do the J Balvin rap [in âFamiliarâ].â
He added, âPatience is key. It will be all worth while for the viewers and people who are massive fans later on. Itâs going to be even better for you than expected so just hold tight.â
Whisperings of a Reunion
âI feel like itâs going to happen soon, Iâve got a feeling,â Liam said on MTVâs TRL  in October 2017 . âIâm excited for it. I want it to happen. There was a whole album that we didnât tour, I know we need to go and write some more music. It was so much fun and everyone loves it so much so we have to go again, for sure.â
A Longer Break
âItâs only been two years, or less than two years [since we took a break]. Itâs like two years in my life. Iâm hoping to live a long life, so two years out of it is not a very long time neither is three or neither is four,â Niall told The Irish Sun in September 2017. âWe have to just wait until everyoneâs ready to go again, weâll go again. Itâd be nice to think that we stopped at a high point, itâd be nice to pick up from there.â

Not Ruling It Out
âMaybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but itâs better if it happens naturally,â he said in his June 2017Â Another Man cover story. âIf that were to happen it would be amazing. I would never rule that out. Itâs the most important, greatest thing that ever happened to me, being in that band. It completely changed my life.â

Deciding When to Do It
âItâs something I would never rule out doing,â Harry said when asked about a reunion in May 2017. âRight now everyoneâs getting a chance to explore things they want to try and itâs really cool to see what theyâre coming up with when itâs just them in a studio writing.â
Always Down to Do It
âWe donât want to put a time on it. But when that phone call does come, no matter whoever it comes from, weâre back again,â he told The Sun in May 2017.
RB/Bauer-Griffin/Shutterstock
No Doubt About It
âIt will definitely happen, of course,â he said to the Australian radio show Smallzyâs Surgery in February 2017. âAs Iâve said many times, weâd be stupid not to. Iâm doing [my music], going to be doing a bit of a tour. Harryâs got his movie coming out, Harryâs doing his thing. Louisâs doing his thing and Liamâs doing his thing. A year has gone so quick already. But when [a reunion] does happen, itâs going to be great.â
Louis Thinks Itâs a âMustâ
And while speaking to Dan Wootton in 2017, he was sure the band would reunite.
âThere is no question of if â itâs a must. And I think weâre all on the same page with that one. It would be too difficult for any of us to say no,â the âBack To Youâ crooner said .

Masses of students gather in the courtyard of Palmer Place apartments to celebrate one of the final fests of the season in Athens, Ohio Friday, April 22, 2022.
One Direction to reunite at Palmer Place Fest
After nine years, all five members of famous British boy band One Direction are reuniting to perform at Palmer Place Fest April 19. The five members, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan, have not performed together since March 18, 2015.
Last Friday, Paul Higgins, the former manager of One Direction, sat down with The Post in an exclusive and rare interview.Â
âThe chaps have always admired Ohio University, especially the party culture surrounding Fest Season,â Higgins said. âPerforming at Palmer Place Fest only made sense.â
The performance will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Higgins. Although the setlist is unknown, Higgins said the band has hinted at playing fan favorites such as âYou & I,â âBest Song Everâ and âNight Changes.â
âWe are absolutely chuffed to perform for Ohio University students,â Horan said in a released statement. âThis reunion has been a long time coming, and we are looking forward to interacting with our fans.â
It seemed like Bobcats were just as excited, with many students expressing their surprise about the news.
âI absolutely cannot believe it,â Brock Lee, a junior studying astrophysics, said. âI literally have loved One Direction all my life and I just cannot believe they are coming to OU.â
Grace Fall is a freshman studying nursing and is also a fellow Directioner.
âI was not planning on going to Fest, but now that I know One Direction will be there, Iâm there,â she said enthusiastically.Â
Although the general consensus seems to be excitement, others are not joining in on the anticipation.Â
âI absolutely hate it because everyone and their mother will be in town,â Pat Icakes, an Athens resident, said. âIÂ fâing hate when itâs Fest Season. I have lived here all my life, and without fail, at least one delinquent vomits on my porch. I am sick of it, and this phony boy band will only make it worse.â
Regarding crowd control, Higgins said there is no formal plan in place, although he is in contact with the Athens Police Department.
âAll weâre focused on is that everyone has a good time,â he said. âIâm not really concerned about how many people are there. I know everyone is excited, and the boys have promised to deliver an unforgettable performance.â
Another member of the band, Malik, was the first to leave the band, claiming he saw their breakup as inevitable. The inclusion of Malik is perhaps the most shocking part of the performance.
âI have missed these chums, and I felt like the timing felt right,â he said in a statement. âAll of us are focused on having a good time and delivering the best show for our fans.â
There is no admission charge for their performance, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
âIt will be the absolute time of your life, we can assure you that,â Higgins said.
The Post would like to wish everyone a happy April Foolsâ Day.

One Direction Tickets
One Direction Concert Tickets
This is your chance to see the most popular boy band in the world live in concert with One Direction tickets. The hit pop group has won the hearts of fans across the world since they first formed on the British competition series, X-Factor in 2010. The five men, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik each gained the attention of Simon Cowell with their auditions for the show. It was Cowell who decided that the five performers would be better as a group than solo performers. From there, One Direction was officially formed.
After filming the series, Cowell signed One Direction to his record label, Syco Records. The band released its debut album “Up All Night” in November 2011 and was greeted with instant commercial and critical success. The album featured the group’s first chart-topping single ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’ The group holds the title for the first UK group to have a debut album reach number one in the United States. Later that year, One Direction tickets went on sale for their first headlining UK tour titled the Up All Night Tour. Soon after the tour, the group made its North American tour debut as the opening act for fellow boy band Big Time Rush.
One Direction’s international success continued to climb with the release of their second album, “Take Me Home,” which featured the hit song ‘Little Things.’ The group released the third album “Midnight Memories” in 2013, which holds one of the group’s most popular songs ‘Best Song Ever.’ The track is one of the group’s most successful hits and became One Direction’s highest-charting U.S. single.
The group dropped their fourth album, “Four,” in 2014. This was the last album that featured Zayn Malik. Malik chose to leave One Direction while on the band’s On The Road Again Tour. One Direction released one album after Malik’s departure titled “Made in the A.M.” After the release of the album in 2015, the group disbanded for a hiatus to pressure solo projects. While One Direction hasn’t produced new music in recent years, the group still hasn’t officially broken up and rumor has it that they will reunite to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Do We Like The New Camila Cabello Song? No! We âLuv It!â
Vas happeninâ everyone! Before you get too excited and confused, no, One Direction has not announced that they are getting back together, and no, they have not announced a reunion concert (as of yet.) However, that will not stop us from imagining what it would be like if there were to be a concert. Sorry if we got your hopes up âŠ
Honestly, we spend most of our days wondering what the One Direction reunion concert would be like. Naturally, we decided to share our thoughts with other Directioners. Being deprived of new OT5 content takes a toll on us Directioners; this is how weâre forced to cope. So, dear readers, let us join together as one delulu team and create our dream setlist .
âUp All Nightâ
The albumâs title track and an absolute bop. If you want to smile uncontrollably and have fun, this song is for you. âUp All Nightâ would be a perfect opener as it immediately sets an excited mood and elicits pure joy from listeners! We would very much like to stay up all night with One Direction. It is, in fact, true.
The songâs energetic tempo and catchy energy make it a timeless anthem! âUp All Nightâ never fails to spark that flame of happiness within us, whether itâs during a late-night drive with friends, at a party to get the crowd on their feet, or simply performing a concert to your stuffed animals and imaginary fans alone in your room. It always slaps so hard.
Cue the tears âŠ
Aside from its musical genius, âUp All Nightâ has a special place in Directionersâ hearts because it represents the start of an insane journey for One Direction. âUp All Nightâ was one of the top  tracks on their debut album, which sent the boys into stardom and laid the groundwork for their eventual chart-topping success. đ„čđ„Č
âSheâs Not Afraidâ
Seeing as âSheâs Not Afraidâ is Louisâ favorite song to perform, we had no choice but to put it on the setlist! Honestly, we can agree with Louis.
Let us paint a picture for you: The stadiumâs lights flash and the screams of fans fill the air. The excitement and anticipation is tangible. âUp All Nightâ has just ended, and suddenly the first chords of âSheâs Not Afraidâ echo around the arena. Tell us you didnât just get chills ⊠because we did!
Despite being released in 2012, âSheâs Not Afraidâ has stood the test of time and continues to be a fan favorite! 2023 One Direction would absolutely crush a live performance of âSheâs Not Afraid!â
The track immediately catches the listenerâs attention with its irresistible melodyâa blend of pop and rock elements that perfectly captures One Directionâs unique sound! The song emits an exciting energy that keeps us hooked from start to finish! With captivating and upbeat melodies, fun lyrics , and an overall jubilant vibe, the track never fails to make listeners want to party! The songâs fun chorus showcases the bandâs ability to generate iconic sing-along moments that never get old!
âRight Nowâ
Did you really think we would ignore all the sad songs ? HA! Never ⊠if we have to hurt, so do you xoxo!
âRight Nowâ is a masterpiece. Itâs a song that deserves astronomical amounts of praise . It deserves to be the song of the year , every year! âRight Nowâ is essentially one of the best songs ever . If you disagree, youâre lying to yourself and everyone around you.
The song is a gorgeous piece of work both sonically and lyrically. With the harmonies, high notes, emotional lyrics, and stunning musicality, âRight Nowâ is a siren song to us Directioners. It wraps its invisible ropes around our hearts and pulls us close, refusing to let go until every emotion has been brought out. To sum it up, the track is an emotional rollercoaster.
Leaving a song like âRight Nowâ off our dream setlist would be wrong. Every concert needs a song that will have the crowd putting their phone torches in the air; this is the song for that.
Honorary mention to the San Siro fan project *cries in showers that are British.*
âNo Controlâ
What. A. Song. Not only is it one of the most listened-to tracks on Four, but there is also a dance routine choreographed by the legend himself, James Corden. The song is fun, sexy, and vibey. âNo Controlâ makes you want to get up and dance around while scream-singing at 3 a.m.
After its release, âNo Controlâ immediately took the world by storm, wasting no time in becoming a fan favorite. This blazing pop-rock track was co-written by none other than Louis Tomlinson, and it demonstrates the bandâs unmistakable artistic growth. âNo Controlâ is iconic! The track confirmed that the boys had grown beyond their adorable boy-band image and were ready to take on a more authentic, sexy, heavy, mature, and edgy sound.
Letâs talk lyrics . Oh. Dear. God . The lyrics.
âSweet, where you lay / still a trace of innocence on the pillow case.â
âWaking up / beside you, Iâm a loaded gun / I canât contain this anymore / Iâm all yours, Iâve got no control / no control.â
âThe taste on my tongue / I donât want to wash away the night before.â
Screaming, crying, throwing up. Unhinged. Thatâs all we have to say about those lyrics. Mr. Tomlinson, do you have something you want to share with the group?
âWalking In the Windâ
This was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make in a long time. Made In The A.M. is an album with zero skips. Every track shines brightly, but at the end of the day, we could only choose one song to put on this list. We believe we made the correct decision. If you donât already know, âWalking In The Windâ talks about the end of an era. The boys sing about the bittersweetness that comes with a breakup. However, said breakup has ended on a positive note!
Hereâs How Our Lovely Jimin Is Just So Bestie-Coded
As we look at the lyrics of âWalking in the Wind,â we canât help but think about the bandâs hiatus that hit shortly after the release of Made In The A.M . In a way, the song can be directly associated with this breakup.
âWalking In The Windâ is a melancholy reflection of the truly amazing era that One Direction shared with their fans and the lasting legacy they have left behind. âWalking in the Windâ is more than just a song for Directioners; itâs a reminder that although the band may not be together, they will always be there for fans.
With lyrics such as:
â Goodbyes are bittersweet / But itâs not the end / Iâll see your face again â
We are almost reassured that everything will be alright. The band may not be together anymore, but that doesnât mean that the boys, the memories, the laughs, the love, and everything else in between will completely disappear. Nothing can destroy the bond created between the boys and their fans.
Although âHomeâ is a stand-alone track that isnât featured on any One Direction album, it would be criminal for us to leave it off our dream setlist. âHomeâ will always have an extremely special place in Directionersâ hearts and deserves an honorary mention. Many of us call One Direction â home .â They say home is where the heart is; our hearts are with One Direction and the boys alone. They make us feel seen, safe, happy, and content. We canât describe how grateful we are for them and everything they have done for us.
âYouâll never feel like youâre alone / Iâll make this feel like home.â
Nothing more needs to be said.
Solo Tracks
Imagine a One Direction reunion concert where all the boys sing each otherâs songs. Give us a minute to compose ourselves. This is the exact reason we are putting this last on our list ⊠itâs not easy to type while crying.
Choosing which solo tracks we want to hear is a very difficult task; consequently, we are passing that job on to you. When we picture Zayn singing the âBigger Than Meâ high note, Niall singing âCinema,â Liam singing âTightrope,â Louis singing âScience,â and Harry singing âPut A Little Love On Me,â we spiral and crumble into a ball of emotions. Help us out by letting us know which solo tracks you would like to hear at the reunion concert by tweeting us at @thehoneypop or visiting us on Facebook and Instagram !

People Keep Speculating About A One Direction Reunion, So Here's Exactly What Each Member Has Said About A Comeback
"This new [groupchat] is definitely louder than most, and it's been great. I'm sure if I had a look at my phone in a few minutes I'd see some messages..."
BuzzFeed Staff
As a former One Direction stan, I practically jump out of my seat anytime rumors crop up about the band coming together again. But they pop up A LOT, and at this point, it's almost cruel how often interviewers ask about a reunion.
But in recent months, talks of a reunion have looked slightly more promising. i'm not saying it's happening anytime soon, but as harry styles said, "never say never." so hereâs what each member of 1d has recently said about the possibility of reuniting:, when asked about a one direction reunion on the last episode of the late late show with james corden back in april, harry said, "i would never say never to that...if there was a time when we all felt that was what we wanted to do, then i don't see why we wouldn't," which sparked a roaring applause from the crowd..
After Harry dropped this teensy bit of hope, Niall Horan , in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada , said "there hasn't been a conversation" yet, but "I'm sure if there ever is one, you'll know about it." He added, "I agree with Harry. Same thing as he said."
And in May after both these interviews, when asked when the band will get back together at a boxing match in Wembley Arena, Liam Payne said, "I don't know, but we just started a new group chat, so..."
@derekwarchisora One Direction has just started a new group chat!! @liampayne exclusive with Delicious TV #onedirection #onedirectionreunion ⏠original sound - Derek Chisora đ„
Active group chats are a good sign, but in terms of a reunion, Niall set the record straight in an interview last week with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1 to promote his new album. He said, "Itâs just like the conversation hasnât happened. Itâs a great legacy to have. No, I donât think it sucks the air out the room. Itâs more, the answerâs still the same."
"We speak regularly, but that conversation hasnât happened. God knows whether it ends up being. It could be like the Friends reunion, it could be a whole tour. God knows what it is, but no, it hasnât been spoken about.â
Louis Tomlinson has commented on a reunion a few times â most recently, he told The Times in February 2023 that âgetting back together at some point is hard to imagine right now, but Iâd be surprised if we lived out our lives and didnât have a moment where we had a reunion...Iâd be up for that.â
And in an interview with The Telegraph  in November 2022, he said, "I donât see anything happening for at least another 10 years , but you never know. It looks pretty jumbled. But I think there is a world where it all kind of fits together.â
As for Zayn, he's been reluctant to discuss One Direction since he left the band early in March 2015 (One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus later that year).
When he has discussed the band, he's not done so very positively. In 2015, he told Fader the group's music was "generic as fâk" and that management controlled a lot of the band's image, leaving them with little creative control. And in an interview with Beats 1 back in 2016, Zayn said he "wanted to go from, like, the first year" and that he "never really wanted to be there, like, in the band."
Things might be looking up, though. In August of 2022, Zayn posted a 30-second clip of him singing the band's song "Night Changes," which was one of the few times he acknowledged his former band positively since the split.
View this photo on Instagram
The video now has over 34 million views, and over 282K comments â many of which include fans begging for a reunion.Â
Looks like we'll still have to wait patiently for a comeback, but I'm loving that the bandmates are chatting and not saying no to a reunion. In the meantime, I'll keep supporting their solo careers and streaming Niall's new album, The Show .
When do you think one direction will reunite publicly would you attend a reunion tour let me know in the comments below, share this article.

Theatres in Moscow
Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.
There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.
A typical feature of Russian theatre â visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.
Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.
The Bolshoi Theatre
The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word âBolshoiâ means âbigâ in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoiâs Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoiâs Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.
If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.
In August the Bolshoi is closed.
The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre
This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

âNovayaâ means âNewâ in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is Peopleâs Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of âVirtuosy Moskvyâ orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The Metro is stunning and provides an unrivaled insight into the cityâs psyche, past and present, but it also happens to be the best way to get around. Moscow has Uber, and the Russian version called Yandex Taxi , but also some nasty traffic. Metro trains come around every 90 seconds or so, at a more than 99 percent on-time rate. Itâs also reasonably priced, with a single ride at 55 cents (and cheaper in bulk). From history to tickets to rules â official and not â hereâs what you need to know to get started.
A Brief Introduction Buying Tickets Know Before You Go (Down) Rules An Easy Tour
A Brief Introduction
Moscowâs Metro was a long time coming. Plans for rapid transit to relieve the cityâs beleaguered tram system date back to the Imperial era, but a couple of wars and a revolution held up its development. Stalin revived it as part of his grand plan to modernize the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 30s. The first lines and tunnels were constructed with help from engineers from the London Underground, although Stalinâs secret police decided that they had learned too much about Moscowâs layout and had them arrested on espionage charges and deported.
The beauty of its stations (if not its trains) is well-documented, and certainly no accident. In its illustrious first phases and particularly after the Second World War, the greatest architects of Soviet era were recruited to create gleaming temples celebrating the Revolution, the USSR, and the war triumph. No two stations are exactly alike, and each of the classic showpieces has a theme. There are world-famous shrines to Futurist architecture, a celebration of electricity, tributes to individuals and regions of the former Soviet Union. Each marble slab, mosaic tile, or light fixture was placed with intent, all in service to a stationâs aesthetic; each element, f rom the smallest brass ear of corn to a large blood-spattered sword on a World War II mural, is an essential part of the whole.
The Metro is a monument to the Soviet propaganda project it was intended to be when it opened in 1935 with the slogan âBuilding a Palace for the Peopleâ. It brought the grand interiors of Imperial Russia to ordinary Muscovites, celebrated the Soviet Unionâs past achievements while promising its citizens a bright Soviet future, and of course, it was a show-piece for the world to witness the might and sophistication of life in the Soviet Union.
It may be a museum, but itâs no relic. U p to nine million people use it daily, more than the London Underground and New York Subway combined. (Along with, at one time, about 20 stray dogs that learned to commute on the Metro.)
In its 80+ year history, the Metro has expanded in phases and fits and starts, in step with the fortunes of Moscow and Russia. Now, partly in preparation for the World Cup 2018, itâs also modernizing. New trains allow passengers to walk the entire length of the train without having to change carriages. The system is becoming more visitor-friendly. (There are helpful stickers on the floor marking out the best selfie spots .) But thereâs a price to modernity: itâs phasing out one of its beloved institutions, the escalator attendants. Often they are middle-aged or elderly womenââ escalator grandmas â in news accountsâwho have held the post for decades, sitting in their tiny kiosks, scolding commuters for bad escalator etiquette or even bad posture, or telling jokes . They are slated to be replaced, when at all, by members of the escalator maintenance staff.
For all its achievements, the Metro lags behind Moscowâs above-ground growth, as Russiaâs capital sprawls ever outwards, generating some of the worldâs worst traffic jams . But since 2011, the Metro has been in the middle of an ambitious and long-overdue enlargement; 60 new stations are opening by 2020. If all goes to plan, the 2011-2020 period will have brought 125 miles of new tracks and over 100 new stations â a 40 percent increase â the fastest and largest expansion phase in any period in the Metroâs history.

Buying Tickets
- Ticket machines have a button to switch to English.
- You can buy specific numbers of rides: 1, 2, 5, 11, 20, or 60. Hold up fingers to show how many rides you want to buy.
- There is also a 90-minute ticket , which gets you 1 trip on the metro plus an unlimited number of transfers on other transport (bus, tram, etc) within 90 minutes.
- Or, you can buy day tickets with unlimited rides: one day (218âœ/ US$4), three days (415âœ/US$7) or seven days (830âœ/US$15). Check the rates here to stay up-to-date.
- If youâre going to be using the Metro regularly over a few days, itâs worth getting a Troika card , a contactless, refillable card you can use on all public transport. Using the Metro is cheaper with one of these: a single ride is 36âœ, not 55âœ. Buy them and refill them in the Metro stations, and theyâre valid for 5 years, so you can keep it for next time. Or, if you have a lot of cash left on it when you leave, you can get it refunded at the Metro Service Centers at Ulitsa 1905 Goda, 25 or at Staraya Basmannaya 20, Building 1.
- You can also buy silicone bracelets and keychains with built-in transport chips that you can use as a Troika card. (A Moscow Metro Fitbit!) So far, you can only get these at the Pushkinskaya metro station Live Helpdesk and souvenir shops in the Mayakovskaya and Trubnaya metro stations. The fare is the same as for the Troika card.
- You can also use Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
Rules, spoken and unspoken
No smoking, no drinking, no filming, no littering. Photography is allowed, although it used to be banned.
Stand to the right on the escalator. Break this rule and you risk the wrath of the legendary escalator attendants. (No shenanigans on the escalators in general.)
Get out of the way. Find an empty corner to hide in when you get off a train and need to stare at your phone. Watch out getting out of the train in general; when your train doors open, people tend to appear from nowhere or from behind ornate marble columns, walking full-speed.
Always offer your seat to elderly ladies (what are you, a monster?).
An Easy Tour
This is no Metro Marathon ( 199 stations in 20 hours ). Itâs an easy tour, taking in mostâthough not allâof the notable stations, the bulk of it going clockwise along the Circle line, with a couple of short detours. These stations are within minutes of one another, and the whole tour should take about 1-2 hours.
Start at Mayakovskaya Metro station , at the corner of Tverskaya and Garden Ring, Â Triumfalnaya Square, Moskva, Russia, 125047.
1. Mayakovskaya. Named for Russian Futurist Movement poet Vladimir Mayakovsky and an attempt to bring to life the future he imagined in his poems. (The Futurist Movement, natch, was all about a rejecting the past and celebrating all things speed, industry, modern machines, youth, modernity.) The result: an Art Deco masterpiece that won the National Grand Prix for architecture at the New York Worldâs Fair in 1939. Itâs all smooth, rounded shine and light, and gentle arches supported by columns of dark pink marble and stainless aircraft steel. Each of its 34 ceiling niches has a mosaic. During World War II, the station was used as an air-raid shelter and, at one point, a bunker for Stalin. He gave a subdued but rousing speech here in Nov. 6, 1941 as the Nazis bombed the city above.
Take the 3/Green line one station to:
2. Belorusskaya. Opened in 1952, named after the connected Belarussky Rail Terminal, which runs trains between Moscow and Belarus. This is a light marble affair with a white, cake-like ceiling, lined with Belorussian patterns and 12 Florentine ceiling mosaics depicting life in Belarussia when it was built.
Transfer onto the 1/Brown line. Then, one stop (clockwise) t o:
3. Novoslobodskaya. Â This station was designed around the stained-glass panels, which were made in Latvia, because Alexey Dushkin, the Soviet starchitect who dreamed it up (and also designed Mayakovskaya station) couldnât find the glass and craft locally. The stained glass is the same used for Rigaâs Cathedral, and the panels feature plants, flowers, members of the Soviet intelligentsia (musician, artist, architect) and geometric shapes.
Go two stops east on the 1/Circle line to:
4. Komsomolskaya. Named after the Komsomol, or the Young Communist League, this might just be peak Stalin Metro style. Underneath the hub for three regional railways, it was intended to be a grand gateway to Moscow and is today its busiest station. It has chandeliers; a yellow ceiling with Baroque embellishments; and in the main hall, a colossal red star overlaid on golden, shimmering tiles. Designer Alexey Shchusev designed it as an homage to the speech Stalin gave at Red Square on Nov. 7, 1941, in which he invoked Russiaâs illustrious military leaders as a pep talk to Soviet soldiers through the first catastrophic year of the war. Â The stationâs eight large mosaics are of the leaders referenced in the speech, such as Alexander Nevsky, a 13th-century prince and military commander who bested German and Swedish invading armies.
One more stop clockwise to Kurskaya station,  and change onto the 3/Blue line, and go one stop to:
5. Baumanskaya.  Opened in 1944. Named for the Bolshevik Revolutionary Nikolai Bauman , whose monument and namesake district are aboveground here. Though he seemed like a nasty piece of work (he apparently once publicly mocked a woman he had impregnated, who later hung herself), he became a Revolutionary martyr when he was killed in 1905 in a skirmish with a monarchist, who hit him on the head with part of a steel pipe. The station is in Art Deco style with atmospherically dim lighting, and a series of bronze sculptures of soldiers and homefront heroes during the War. At one end, there is a large mosaic portrait of Lenin.
Stay on that train direction one more east to:
6. Elektrozavodskaya. As you may have guessed from the name, this station is the Metroâs tribute to all thing electrical, built in 1944 and named after a nearby lightbulb factory. It has marble bas-relief sculptures of important figures in electrical engineering, and others illustrating the Soviet Unionâs war-time struggles at home. The ceilingâs recurring rows of circular lamps give the stationâs main tunnel a comforting glow, and a pleasing visual effect.
Double back two stops to Kurskaya station , and change back to the 1/Circle line. Sit tight for six stations to:
7. Kiyevskaya. This was the last station on the Circle line to be built, in 1954, completed under Nikita Khrushchevâ s guidance, as a tribute to his homeland, Ukraine. Its three large station halls feature images celebrating Ukraineâs contributions to the Soviet Union and Russo-Ukrainian unity, depicting musicians, textile-working, soldiers, farmers. (One hall has frescoes, one mosaics, and the third murals.) Shortly after it was completed, Khrushchev condemned the architectural excesses and unnecessary luxury of the Stalin era, which ushered in an epoch of more austere Metro stations. According to the legend at least, he timed the policy in part to ensure no Metro station built after could outshine Kiyevskaya.
Change to the 3/Blue line and go one stop west.
8. Park Pobedy. This is the deepest station on the Metro, with one of the worldâs longest escalators, at 413 feet. If you stand still, the escalator ride to the surface takes about three minutes .) Opened in 2003 at Victory Park, the station celebrates two of Russiaâs great military victories. Each end has a mural by Georgian artist Zurab Tsereteli, who also designed the â Good Defeats Evil ” statue at the UN headquarters in New York. One mural depicts the Russian generalsâ victory over the French in 1812 and the other, the German surrender of 1945. The latter is particularly striking; equal parts dramatic, triumphant, and gruesome. To the side, Red Army soldiers trample Nazi flags, and if you look closely thereâs some blood spatter among the detail. Still, the biggest impressions here are the marble shine of the chessboard floor pattern and the pleasingly geometric effect if you view from one end to the other.
Keep going one more stop west to:
9. Slavyansky Bulvar. Â One of the Metroâs youngest stations, it opened in 2008. With far higher ceilings than many other stationsâwhich tend to have covered central tunnels on the platformsâit has an âopen-airâ feel (or as close to it as you can get, one hundred feet under). Itâs an homage to French architect Hector Guimard, he of the Art Nouveau entrances for the Paris M Ă© tro, and thatâs precisely what this looks like: A Moscow homage to the Paris M Ă© tro, with an additional forest theme. A Cyrillic twist on Guimardâs Metro-style lettering over the benches, furnished with t rees and branch motifs, including creeping vines as towering lamp-posts.
Stay on the 3/Blue line and double back four stations to:
10. Arbatskaya. Its first iteration, Arbatskaya-Smolenskaya station, was damaged by German bombs in 1941. It was rebuilt in 1953, and designed to double as a bomb shelter in the event of nuclear war, although unusually for stations built in the post-war phase, this one doesnât have a war theme. It may also be one of the systemâs most elegant: Baroque, but toned down a little, with red marble floors and white ceilings with gilded bronze c handeliers.
Jump back on the 3/Blue line  in the same direction and take it one more stop:
11. Ploshchad Revolyutsii (Revolution Square). Opened in 1938, and serving Red Square and the Kremlin . Its renowned central hall has marble columns flanked by 76 bronze statues of Soviet heroes: soldiers, students, farmers, athletes, writers, parents. Some of these statuesâ appendages have a yellow sheen from decades of Moscowâs commuters rubbing them for good luck. Among the most popular for a superstitious walk-by rub: the snout of a frontier guard’s dog, a soldierâs gun (where the touch of millions of human hands have tapered the gun barrel into a fine, pointy blade), a babyâs foot, and a womanâs knee. (A brass rooster also sports the telltale gold sheen, though I am told that rubbing the rooster is thought to bring bad luck. )
Now take the escalator up, and get some fresh air.

2. General information about Moscow metro
Metro working hours, navigation, wi-fi.
The Moscow Metro is open from about 5:30 am until 1:00 am. The precise opening time varies at different stations according to the arrival of the first train, but all stations simultaneously close their entrances and transitions to other lines at 01:00 am for maintenance. The minimum interval between trains is 90 seconds during the morning and evening rush hours. Each line is identified according to an alphanumeric index (usually consisting of a number), a name and a color. Voice announcements in Russian refer to the lines by name and by numbers in English. A male voice announces the next station when traveling towards the center of the city or the clockwise direction on the circle line, and a female voice â when going away from the center or the counter-clockwise direction at the circle. The lines are also assigned specific colors for maps and signs.
Free Wi-Fi is called MT_FREE and available on all 14 lines (inside the trains).
Using Metro services is frequently the fastest and the most efficient way to get from one part of the city to another. But during daytime Moscow Metro stations are usually overcrowded so if you want to just enjoy the beauty of the underground, itâs better to visit it late in the evening.
MCC and MCD
Since 2016 The Moscow Metro is connected to two new types of rail transport. The first one is MCC â Moscow Central Circle. It has 31 stations around the city with changes to metro stations (most of them require to walk a few minutes via the street). The second one is MCD, Moscow Central Diameters, a system of city train services on existing commuter rail lines in Moscow and Moscow Oblast. MCD has several lines, they’re being marked as D1, D2 etc. Changing to both MCC and MCD from the Metro is free when your journey is within the city. Both MCC and MCD lines exist on all of the Moscow Metro maps.
Interesting facts about Moscow metro
213 people were born in the metro during the World War II, when it was used as a bomb shelter.
There are 76 bronze sculptures of workers, peasants, soldiers, sailors, etc. at Ploshchad Revolyutsii station. There is legend connected with this station. To pass any examination successfully, a student should touch the bronze dogâs nose («the Frontier Guard with a Dog» sculpture). You can easily understand high popularity of this legend by looking at the polished nose of the dog.
It is said that some of the magnificent mosaics at several central stations, for example the «World Peace» mosaic at Novoslobodskaya, were made with the pieces of enamel and smalt, taken from the famous Christ the Savior Cathedral, before itâs destruction.
As any other dungeon the Moscow metro, has its own ghosts. The most famous one is the old lineman. He is not dangerous and usually hides into the wall, when people appear. The ghostly metro train is much more dangerous. It appears after midnight at the Circle Line and consists of old-time carriages. It sometimes stops at the stations and opens its doors, and then goes back into the darkness. It is said that the souls of Stalinâs prisoners, perished during the building of the metro are locked in the train forever.
