Join a segway tour in the Yarra Valley and experience all the delights of gliding among the grapevines at the stunning Rochford Winery.

The Yarra Valley segway tours operate on weekends and public holidays and commence at 10.00am & 1.00pm. Tours are of approximately 2-hours duration including training allowing you to spend around 90 minutes on the segway.

On arrival at the winery make your way to the cellar door and advise the staff there that you’re joining a segway tour. Your guide will meet you in the winery building to commence your activities.

All necessary equipment is provided so?ÿjust wear comfortable clothes with enclosed shoes and we’ll take care of the rest. Feel free to bring your own helmet if you wish.

Our experienced guides will provide you with full training then it’s off to explore the Rochford Winery on two wheels. You’ll experience a wide variety of terrains all under the guidance and supervision of our expert staff.

Once you’ve mastered the segway it’s time to test your skills on the purpose designed segway off-road track. You’ll be delighted by how much fun and easy segways are to ride regardless of your age.

• Jenny G 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fun In the Vinyards I was given a voucher for two for an outing on a Seqway at Rochford Winery followed by lunch afterwards. Having recently turned 50 I seriously considered giving the voucher away to my friends children as I believed I was much too old and would just look silly. After speaking to a rep at Segway Victoria my mind was quickly put at ease being informed age is no barrier as long as you are able bodied. So I braved it and booked my husband and I both in. Our rellies of similar age heard what we were doing and didn't hesitate booking themselves in to join us and what a hoot of a time we had. Our instructor Emily was so through and professional with showing us how to operate the machine and more importantly, feel comfortable when we were on our own. You complete a short course following her supervision and instructions before you are allowed to venture off and you all stay in the same area anyway as a group which helps build confidence. The speed can be controlled by yourself and it doesn't take long before you really want to go as fast as possible which in our case was a range of 10-20 kmph. Various terrain was explored from open grassy paddocks, gravel roads and through the lanes amongst the grapevines. We even had a little course of jumps and bridge crosses set up which was loads of fun and a great way to build confidence. Yes I fell off but only once and to be expected with me, a true klutz. But I was not hurt and the machine cut off immediately. A couple of the lane-ways between the vines have recently been ploughed up and resowed so although grassy they have some hidden deep ruts so worth keeping in mind for future thrill seekers. I just choose the wrong lane and went a tad too fast, showing off. Wouldn't hesitate to go again and to finish off with a very tasty glass of wine and the most delicious meal at Rochford, I seriously wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a fun outing, test your skill set and then sit back and enjoy pure decadence at the the end. A comfortable hour drive from Melbourne cbd and we arrived at Rochford Winery. A dozen guests with one guide, a safety DVD then off to learn. Helmets & high vis gear provided. The weather was stunning and our guide put us at ease. We went through paddocks, along tracks and had a great play time before embarking on an obstacle course. We had an absolute ball! We were all a bit hesitant to begin with especially my older mother, but after a very attentive instruction session and a practice run, we were away! I wouldnt have thought we could have so much fun on these. Lovely moderate ride around the winery. I think including the information and training sessions we were at it for about 2 hours which was followed by lunch at Rochford winery. We were given a choice from about 5 or so mains, glass of red/white wine followed by tea/coffee. You could then head into the shop or wine tasting room.
