September in Paris holds a special place in my heart. It’s like the city gets a fresh start after the summer, with a unique atmosphere that you can almost feel in the air.

And I expect that this feeling will be even amplified in 2024, with the Parisians being happy that the Olympic Games and Paralympics Games are over and everything gets back to normal.

The cafés and terraces buzz with life, filled with people enjoying the warm, sometimes even hot, September days. Museums welcome visitors with new exhibitions. Furthermore, the likelihood of encountering those overwhelming heat waves typical of summer are much lower.

How are the crowds in Paris in September?

September is a high season in Paris! Even though the big crowds from July and August are long gone, Paris is nowhere close to being empty or crowd free. Quite the contrary, expect Paris to be busy.

Visitors that are not bound to school vacations are flocking to Paris to enjoy the pleasant combination of beautiful weather and lesser crowds . If you plan to visit Paris this September, plan a bit ahead.

Popular sights are easily sold out and you better make sure to get tickets in time. This also prevents you from queuing and wasting precious time.

The Rentrée in Paris

In 2024, the rentrée is on Monday, the 4th of September. Everyone will be back in Paris from their annual break by the 1st, and if you pay close attention, you’ll notice the busy Parisians running from A to B.

Stocking up on school supplies, signing up for activities, buying new clothes for their kids and themselves, and taking advantage of reductions that many stores are offering around this time.

The rentrée is a big thing in France , almost a season on its own. Even though you as a visitor and on vacation won’t be much affected by this event, I think it’s still nice to know what are all the rentrée signs and posters are about!

September will give you a wonderful time in Paris. You can enjoy the city to the fullest with everything being open, but without the paralyzing heat waves ( carnicule in French) you often encounter in July and August.

Expect great weather and plenty of  fun things to do thanks to the many cool events, picnics in the beautiful parks , river cruises, and museum exhibitions .

How’s the September Weather in Paris?

Your vacation in Paris in September will likely be characterized by warm weather and sunshine . But the oppressing heat you find in August is mostly over.

September is the transition month from summer to fall in Paris , but it really feels more summer than anything else. Especially in the first half of the month.

As the month progresses, it will get cooler though, but you can still expect sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

The average temperature during the day in September is 22 degrees, with 7 rain days.

Despite all the good forecasts and the likelihood of warm, sunny, and pleasant weather, it could still throw you curveballs: you might experience days of rain with temperatures as low as 13 degrees . Hence, pack a sweater!

Is a Hotel with AC Necessary in September?

Considering it could indeed be warm, especially in the first half of September, your best choice is to book a Hotel with air-conditioning. This sounds like a no-brainer, but AC is not a given in Paris. If AC is not mentioned in the hotel description, there is usually none.

What to wear in Paris in September 2024

In September, you best prepare to dress in light layers. It can be still very summery warm, hot even, but at least pleasant. The mornings and evenings might start to be fresh though.

Hence, you should bring a light jacket and a sweater. A light scarf can be useful as well.

Another thing you should have in your purse? A little travel umbrella , just in case the rain starts falling!

As always, the best move is to look at the forecast before leaving for your vacation and pack accordingly. But generally, you will have pleasant days in September, with warm sunshine and fresh mornings and evenings.

Pack Light Pants to dress up and down

These pants are the best travel item for late summer. They are soft, comfortable, and insanely versatile . You can wear them casually with sneakers and a t-shirt during the day when sightseeing in Paris. But also, easily dress them up with a pair of flats or loafers and a blouse for dinner.

There is rarely an item so versatile as a scarf. Whether you wear it around your neck to keep you warm or around your shoulders to replace a light jacket if it gets a bit fresh in the evening.

A scarf certainly belongs in your bag if you travel to Paris in September. A lightweight scarf also takes no space up in your purse, you can have it with you all day and just take it out when needed. As a plus, a scarf is also a wonderful accessory to level up your outfit.

Honestly, you shouldn’t travel anywhere in Europe without a little umbrella in your

For your trip to Paris in September, you need to know that you’ll be in town at high season. It is not as packed as August anymore, but still crowded.

Paris sees many tourists in September, and contrary to August, many Parisians as well. After summer vacation, Parisians and tourists alike are eager to enjoy dinners, culture, and shopping.

Depending on what you want to do, tickets for sights and exhibitions might be a rare good.

Like everywhere in high season, many people want the same thing: to visit the top sights and enjoy Paris. But tickets to most sights are limited.

To spare you from disappointment, plan ahead and reserve as many tickets as you can in advance.

Here’s precisely why:

• Famous sights like the Eiffel Tower are often booked out for weeks , especially during highseason.
• Buying tickets on-site often includes queuing for hours and a huge time loss!

You can spend wonderful hours doing a cruise on the Seine River . There are plenty of different cruising options suitable for all budgets.

You can take in Paris` beauty from an unusual perspective while relaxing and sailing down the Seine.

If you want to combine the Seine with something extraordinary, combine the Seine Cruise with a trip through the locks of the Canal St.Martin !

It’s a very fascinating tour, that I took actually in August this year myself, and can warmly recommend it.

As a plus, the commentary (in English) was outstanding. Despite living here for so many years, I’ve learned plenty of interesting things about Paris, and I am sure you’ll enjoy it too.

The Canal leads from the Seine, through a tunnel under the Bastille, to the North of Paris. On your trip, you cross many locks to balance the height difference through Paris.

#2 Explore Paris by Bike

If you are worried to rent a Vélib in Paris on your own, a guided bike tour through Paris is perfect for you.

It is a wonderful way to see the city. You’ll be able to see all the major sights , and you won’t have to worry about getting lost. Plus, it’s a great way to get some exercise while you’re on vacation.

The tour will take you past all the famous landmarks, but you also get to ride through some of the less touristy areas of the city, which is always nice.

The tour guide will be able to tell you all about the history of Paris, and they’ll make sure you have a great time. I highly recommend taking a guided bike tour of Paris if you ever get the chance.

#3 Visit the Eiffel Tower

Nothing screams “Paris” more than its famous symbol: The Eiffel Tower. Built in 1889, the Eiffel Tower is one of the best places to enjoy a magnificent view of Paris.

You can either visit the 2nd floor by climbing the stairs or taking the elevator. You can also opt in to head up to the summit, by elevator, of course. Both platforms are granting you breathtaking views, but for many, the summit is the real bucket list item !

The most budget-friendly option to visit the Eiffel Tower and enjoy the view is by climbing using the stairs to the 2nd floor.

However, tickets are only sold on the homepage a couple of weeks in advance or with a bit of luck (and lots of queuing) on the day of your visit directly to the tower.

Paris in September – the Best Sites and Events (2024)

I had an amazing opportunity to tag along with my husband on a work trip to the French Capital. While he traveled to Angers, France with his company, I had time to explore the sites of Paris on my own. Paris is a welcoming city for solo travelers, and a lot was going on during September which seemed to be one of the best times of year here. Paris Fashion Week was occurring, which was exciting for me, and there was a certain je ne sais quoi in the air.

September is a great time to visit Paris; the weather was spectacular with the average temperatures in the 70’s. We experienced warm days and mostly sunny weather with just a little bit of rain. Our visit was in late September, and I actually spent my birthday on October 1 under the Eiffel Tower’s sparkling lights. In this post, I will outline the most popular attractions, the best ways to book tickets and avoid lines, and also review the best events during the month of September.

1. Eiffel Tower

Navigating the Eiffel Tower in September requires strategic planning, even as the summer crowds begin to dwindle. To bypass long waits, my top recommendation is to book a skip-the-line guided tour when purchasing tickets for Paris attractions.

Our visit to the Eiffel Tower highlighted the significance of timing in travel plans. Unfortunately, our scheduled tour had to be canceled due to an unexpected twist – Paris Fashion Week was in full swing. The city pulsated with energy as crowds flocked to witness the prominent fashion show occurring that evening, leading our guide to cancel our summit excursion.

But you know what? There’s a bright side to this whole unexpected situation. A lot of the tour companies in Paris are pretty flexible when it comes to last-minute changes. Many of them let you cancel and get your money back in cases like this, which is a huge relief.

It just goes to show that while timing is important, being able to roll with the punches and adjust your plans on the fly is just as crucial when you’re exploring a city as lively and unpredictable as Paris. It’s all part of the adventure, right? And knowing that you have some flexibility takes a bit of the pressure off, so you can focus on enjoying the experience, even if it doesn’t go exactly according to plan.

The two best tour companies to go to the summit of the Eiffel Tower I found in Paris are Viator and Get Your Guide. There are different types of tours available like a Seine River Cruise Combo, Summit tours by Elevator, Fully Guided, or Audio Tours.

2. Paris Fashion Week

Because we were there at the end of the month, I was in Paris on my birthday, October 1, 2023. This happened to be when the L’Oréal Paris Fashion Show took place under the Eiffel Tower due to Fashion Week. Although the event was open to the public, I didn’t manage to get in line early enough to secure a spot. Nevertheless, the atmosphere beneath the Eiffel Tower was electric. I enjoyed a magical evening alone, sitting beneath the illuminated tower with a beer and a hot dog, observing people, and listening to live music. The Eiffel Tower, especially in the evening, is always worth exploring, regardless of the time, you’ll see why Paris is called the city of light.

Paris is a bit more crowded during Fashion Week but it was also really exciting too. It was worth strolling by the Ritz Paris, where you might get a glimpse of a celebrity (if that’s your thing). We saw some fashion models here and paparazzi. If you are here in September during this week, just plan and make sure there isn’t an event at an attraction during the time you want to be there to avoid big crowds or canceled tours like ours.

3. Arc de Triomphe

Skip the ticket line and climb to the top

During my solo sightseeing adventure, I climbed the stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Undeniably this was worth every step as what a spectacular view it offered! I had wisely secured a mobile ticket in advance through Viator. This is a practice I highly recommend for entry to this attraction, as the ticket line was notably lengthy. Booking advanced tickets to this Paris attraction is a must! Thanks to this preparation, I strolled right up to the entrance. The effort of climbing those stairs was entirely justified by the magnificent view that awaited me!

Additionally, for us shoppers, there was the best gift shop as you come down!

4. Sacre-Coeur Basilic

Sacre Coeur holds a special place in my heart. Walking up here reminded me of my dad, Wally, who took me here during my teenage years. He had a deep appreciation for visiting churches and reveling in their beauty.

My husband was with me for this and we hiked to the top after eating the best hamburger I’ve ever had. After the steep climb, we discovered there was a funicular, which peeved my husband as the climb wore him out. Going inside takes your breath away. I lit a candle in memory of my dad and the experience was truly beautiful. Finally, the only drawback was witnessing numerous people taking photos despite clear signs urging respect for those in prayer.

Sacre-Coeur is free to enter and the line wasn’t long despite the crowds. There are walking tours available to see Sacre Coeur as well as the Montmartre neighborhood.

5. Moulin Rouge

Another great landmark in the Montmartre district is the Moulin Rouge, the famous cabaret in Paris. I love the iconic exterior of this building. Visiting the Moulin Rouge in September can provide a unique experience as the summer crowds begin to taper off, making it more manageable to secure tickets or reservations with fewer crowds. Additionally, the pleasant weather during September enhances the overall enjoyment of the evening. When visiting the Moulin Rouge, it is advisable to book tickets in advance to ensure you can secure a spot and avoid any last-minute disappointments. It’s important to note that the Moulin Rouge has a formal dress code, so attendees should wear an evening dress or suit for men.

6. Opéra Garnier

The Opera Garnier is truly breathtaking, with its intricate and stunning design. My solo visit was worth it and I had booked tickets to this attraction beforehand. To my surprise, this place is a haven for those who love capturing moments for what seems to be social media. There were people scattered about in glamorous gowns making it a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot.

To see the Opera Garnier, I used a mobile timed entry ticket. I’d recommend a guided tour as the building is vast, and I found myself wandering.

7. Louvre Museum

The Louvre is undeniably spectacular and a beautiful place. It is one of the world’s most famous museums with one of the most famous works of art, the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa often falls victim to its hype, drawing crowds of people eager to snap selfies, you’ll have to navigate your way to see this carefully and with patience. Amidst the crowds, it’s easy to overlook one of the most impressive aspects of the Louvre: the exquisitely detailed ceilings that adorn the museum’s interior. These intricate ceilings are a hidden treasure, offering a captivating and often under-appreciated glimpse into the artistic grandeur of the Louvre.

For an efficient entrance to the Louvre, it’s highly recommended to secure a timed entry ticket. This method allows for a relatively swift entry process even during busy periods with minimal time spent waiting in line.

9. Musée d’Orsay

The Musée d’Orsay, another renowned museum in Paris, is a must-see. Located on the left bank of the Seine River, it contains a remarkable art collection that includes works by renowned artists like Monet, Van Gogh, Degas, and Renoir. The museum is particularly celebrated for housing some of the world’s most famous Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. Its location along the Seine River adds to the picturesque setting, making it an ideal destination for exploration. Walking along the Seine was one of my favorite outside activities in Paris.

1. See a Show at Moulin Rouge

If you're looking for something that is a bit more stereotypically Parisian, why not see a cabaret?

The Moulin Rouge  is known for its live music, extravagant costumes, and beautiful performers in a luxurious environment.

Performances run regularly year-round, and we recommend getting your tickets a few months out as they do tend to sell out.

2. Attend a Jazz Festival

The Jazz à la Villette Festival takes place each September in celebration of everything jazz.

Activities take place in Parc de la Villette and various surrounding venues.

Note that because the festival wants to appeal to younger crowds as well, it puts effort into children's activities and concerts. Those can be found here .

3. Take a Sightseeing Tour

September means brisk weather and the chance to take a deep breath after the heat of the summer finally lets up.

4. Attend the Festivals du Parc Floral

In August and September, four music festivals take place in one park.

• Pestilence | a concert series for children
• Paris Jazz Festival | Jazz music
• Classic at Green | Classical music
• The Nocturnes | a mix of classical and jazz music

Concerts take place at Parc Floral de Paris, in the 12th arrondissment, close to Château de Vincennes.

The series runs from June 28th to September 6th.

5. Dance at the Techno Parade

Paris' Techno Parade returns again this year.

This showcase of electronic music culture brings hundreds of thousands of people to the streets of Paris.

In addition to music and dancing, there will also be dozens of floats driving down the street alongside the dancers, each one representing an electronic label or group.

This parade is entirely free to attend, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the music along with everyone else!

This year the festival takes place on September 23rd.

6. Experience European Heritage Days

On September 16th and 17th, Paris celebrates European Heritage Days .

The French Ministry of Culture and Communication invites folks to visit select Parisian monuments and cultural sites for free.

You can find concerts, gallery showings, and other events at participating venues throughout the city.

Some monuments and venues include the Philharmonie de Paris, Arc de Triomphe, and Elysee Palace. 

7. Fill Your Stomach at a Food Festival

The annual three-day international Omnivore Food Festival brings together those chefs who take a new and daring look at contemporary cuisine.

Pop-up demonstrations of talented and "undiscovered" chefs and other food artisans, exhibitors, masterclasses, and other activities take place around this festival.

Best of all, the over 10,000 guests have a chance to taste some exceptional food and drink.

8. Take in Paris Fashion Week

One of the most high-profile fashion weeks happens in Paris from September 25th - October 3rd.

This event sets the tone for fashion all over the world for the upcoming year.

There will be a few events open to the public , but tickets are in high demand so you should keep an eye on the calendar months in advance.

These events are generally independent of the official runway events but are still exciting for fashion fans.  

9. Take a Day Trip to Versailles

In September, the weather is still brisk and pleasant enough to spend an enjoyable day exploring the Palace of Versailles and its gardens. 

The palace sits on a beautiful estate that has been the site of multiple important meetings and events throughout history and is only 40 minutes from Paris by train.

The gardens are large enough that we recommend budgeting at least half a day to explore or take a bike tour.

You can visit inside more than 150 parks and gardens, many of which aren’t usually open to the public. This includes Parc Monceau and Parc Georges Brassens.

Paris – September Things To Do

September in Paris means La Rentree; Back to School. It’s a big deal as in France is very similar to the feel of the start of a New Year we have in the USA – except there’s no ball drop on a Parisian version of Times Square.

It’s an important new start, so much so that many of the day planners and calendars actually start in September! Here it’s not just for the kids but many companies will have a major yearly focus and you see it all over the news and in talks with your friends about goals.

And as many Pariaisns are making their way back from vacation, the capital city is busier than in August.

WEATHER IN PARIS

The weather is warmer than October for sure, and on numerous occasions, we experience an Indian summer.

September weather in Paris is still warm, you won’t need a coat, but a scarf and light vest could come in handy.

Temperatures in the month of September in Paris.  Usually 18 – 21C.

On top of that, I think flights are less expensive outside of the summer holiday dates.

WHAT TO PACK

Feel free to still pack a light jacket and comfy walking shoes. Paris is a beautiful city that is easy to walk around but we have lots of cobblestone streets. For an evening out at dinner, your best dress and heels should do the trick, but many Parisians have mastered the art of casual chic ( see this YOUTUBE VIDEO on FRENCH Style )

After being the first art fair in the world to open its doors in September 2020 after lockdown restrictions ended, Art Paris will also, be the first art fair to take up residence in the Grand Palais Éphémère on the Champ-de-Mars from 9 to 12 September. Designed by renowned architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, this spectacular tem- porary structure which is situated in front of the École Militaire and close to the Eiffel Tower, will host events scheduled at the Grand Palais until the building reopens for the Olympic Games in 2024.

Like I shared on Instagram that Paris is a metropolitan city like any other so you have to be careful of pickpockets, especially when you’re in the metro or when you’re around the monuments you want to be very vigilant. Carry your wallets in your purse in front of you, try and avoid carrying around too much cash, and definitely be careful when people come up to you asking you if you speak English asking to sign any petition. A lot of times those are Gangs of Gypsies who target travelers.

EXPLORE THE GARDENS OF PARIS DIFFERENTLY

Exploring the parks and gardens of the city is always one of the best things to do in Paris in September. Paris has many beautiful gardens , and there is no time like the end of summer / early autumn to enjoy them.

La Petite Ceinture was a 32 km railroad line that circumnavigated Paris and developed from 1852 to 1869. After many years of total abandonment, the city recovered some sections and turned them into green, urban spaces perfect for a stroll.

Every year, the Festival Jazz à La Villette is a grand “Rendez-Vous” for jazz lovers. It is hosted by La Philharmonie de Paris and La Villette (Paris 19) and always has an interesting music program with the most innovative creators in all jazz styles.

Soufflés are fluffy little delights that melt in your mouth. The egg-based dish is made in both sweet and savory versions and often served in individual servings. The desert soufflés are famous and include recipes with chocolate, jam, berries, banana, and lemons.

Wonderful tour. Top notch accommodations; very comfortable tour bus; courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guide and driver. Restaurant selections were fine and we had sufficient time to explore on our own. Highly recommended.

European Heritage Days ( Journées Européans du Patrimoine )

Over 300 Paris museums, historic monument, heritage sites, and public spaces give you free access during fascinating tours and presentations as part of France's European Heritage Days on September 16-17 .

What's special?   Many of the city's most beautiful, fascinating, and historical institutes give access to private areas normally off-limits to visitors.

Head to venues as Banque de France, Élysées Palace,  and Palais Royal where you can explore treasure-filled areas normally closed to the public, take behind-the-scenes tours at the Supreme Court , Chatalet Theatre, and the construction site at Notre Dame Cathedral, or simply get free admission to some of the city's most popular museums and cultural institutions such as Monnae (the Paris Mint) and La Conciergerie.

Floating Markets Festival across from Notre Dame

Every year on the same weekend as European Heritage Days (September 15-17  this year; 10am-10pm on Friday and Saturday; 10am-7pm on Sunday), Quai Montebello along the Seine River across from Notre Dame becomes transformed by a fun gourmet event complete with free tastings:  the Floating Markets of the Southwest. 

Around 40 producers of food specialties from Southwestern France let you taste (and if you'd like, buy) their local products: foie gras, wines, duck, jams, cheeses, and special plums, garlic, grapes, and other produce.  Music and dancing by the river add to the fun.  More information:  event website

Bonus tip:   Once you've sampled the best of the Southwest, keep walking along the Seine toward the Latin Quarter to the east, and you may get to see more dancing along the Seine on the Jardin Tino Rossi platforms overlooking the river. 

Everyone is welcome, so join the dancing if you feel inclined.

Paris is Worth a Party Festival

Looking for something fun and unusual to do in Paris?  You can travel back in time to celebrate 1,500 years of Parisian life in the Paris is Worth a Party festival in Place Saint-Sulpice (in front of the Saint-Sulpice Church at 2 Rue Palatine, 6th arr). 

In addition to exhibitions of Paris from the Middle Ages to the Liberation (World War II), you'll see costumed actors portraying craftsmen, marching in a parade from the Pantheon, and entertaining you with dance, music and poetry. 

Although admission is free (with donations gratefully accepted) for everything except a medieval banquet, you must get tickets in advance.

Les Extatiques Festival at La Défense

The annual Les Extatiques Festival at La Défense, located in Paris's skyscraper-filled business district just beyond the city limits, features new monumental sculptures by eight contemporary French and International artists. 

Look for the sculptures along La Défense's Esplanade , a long park-like paved space that functions as an outdoor art gallery (and also hosts La Défense's enormous Christmas Market).   You'll find them in the stretch between the Grande Arche and the multi-colored Bassin pool and fountains.

Dates:   Admission:  Free Metro:  La Défense (about a 5-minute ride from the Charles de Gaulle/Etoile station on Line 1; if you walk down the whole 1 km (.6 m) length of the Esplanade, you'll end up at the Esplanade de La Défense station and can hop on the metro there to go back to Paris - or continue walking for another mile or so to the Arc de Triomphe. While you're there:   Admire the futuristic architecture of the surrounding buildings on both sides of the Esplanade

Jazz à la Villette

The Jazz à la Villette Festival stages two weekends of superb musical events in Parc de la Villette's major venues:  Philharmonie de Paris, Grande Halle de La Villette, and Cité de la Musique.  Don't miss this unforgettable experience of hearing some of the best French and international musicians at one of the world's leading jazz fests.  There's also a special kids' program.

Paris Fashion Week: Womens Ready to Wear 

Paris Fashion Week takes place in multiple locations around the city and features numerous events showcasing French and International designers such as Chanel, Galliano, Dior, Givency, Vuitton, Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Sandro, Comme des Garçons, Courrèges, Maje, Vanessa Bruno, and Isabel Marant as models strut down the runways wearing Women's Ready-To-Wear collections for next spring and summer.

The ticketed shows are generally by invitation only, so unless you're lucky enough to snag one, you can catch a glimpse of the models near the venue locations, typically in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 16th arrondissements.  The Grand Palais, Palais Galliera, the Eiffel Tower and nearby Champs des Mars, Place des Vosges , Tuileries Garden near the Louvre, Palais Royal Garden , Hotel de Ville, Palais de Tokyo, and Pompidou are usually safe bets if you want to join the paparazzi, as well as designer ateliers in the Marais neighborhood.

Paris Design Week showcases the latest, greatest, and best of new and classic trends in home decor in over 300 galleries, workshops, design schools, and creative studios around the city for 10 glorious days from September 7-16. 

Similar to Paris Fashion Week, most exhibitions are for design professionals only.  Check the event website for more information (click "FR" on the far right of the top nav bar to get English).

However, if you're in Paris during this period, you'll see Paris Design Show banners in many neighborhoods, particularly in Saint-Germain, the Marais, and near Palais Royal/the Louvre in the 1st arrondissement.  Participating galleries and home decor boutiques will welcome your visit - so if this is of interest to you, be alert for browsing opportunities as you explore these neighborhoods.

Les Traversées du Marais (Free Cultural Events in the Marais)

Les Traversées du Marais, featuring 32 free cultural events , will inspire you to "travel" across the Marais neighborhood (3rd and 4th arrondissements), where you'll encounter a rich diversity venues offering concerts, live performances, film screenings, kids' events including story time, open artists studios, a culinary workshop, exhibitions, and lots of fun on the first full weekend of the month, September 1-3.

Open Studios: Pere Lachaise, Menilmontant, & Belleville Neighborhoods

Numerous artists live and work in the leafy 20th arrondissement neighborhoods around Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Menilmontant, and Belleville. 

Emerging and established painters, sculptors, photographers, and print-makers in these areas band together to hold Open Studios on four weekends throughout the year (March 25, June 3 in conjunction with Nuit Blanche), September 30, and December 9). 

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to browse original art, chat with the artists, and perhaps purchase a favorite piece!  Visiting the Open Studios also gives you also a great opportunity to explore these lesser-known authentic Parisian neighborhoods as well as nearby Pere Lachaise cemetery.

Car Free Day

Paris's annual Car Free Day takes place this year on Sunday, September 15 from 10am to 6pm, planned to coincide with European Heritage Days.   And as a bonus, you can enjoy the regular "first Sunday" car-free day on September 1, when Paris's first four arrondissements, Champs Elysees, and other neighborhoods throughout the city become pedestrian-only on the first Sunday of each month.

With most private vehicle traffic (ie, cars, motorcycles, trucks) banned from city streets, this is your chance to walk freely in the middle of the streets and enjoy the cleaner air  resulting from a variety of green initiatives.

Emergency and city worker vehicles, taxis, city buses, and tour buses are allowed, so be prepared to share the space with them as well as with bicycles, segways, and scooters.

If you're visiting Paris, Car Free Day can be a wonderful opportunity to explore the heart of the city on a guided bicycle tour or electric bike tour.

Foire de Chatou (Antiques & Collectibles Fair at Chatou)

If you love searching for treasures at flea markets and antique shops, you won't want to miss France's biggest and oldest antiques fair held this month (and in March) a few miles outside of Paris (but easy to get to on the RER). 

What will you find?  Basically, everything that might fall under the label of "antiques," "vintage," and "collectibles" - fine art, furniture, decor, fashion accessories, jewelry, tableware, chandeliers and other light fixtures, toys, mirrors, books and maps, and so much more, from the 17th century through the 20th.

All of the 300 dealers at the fair are vetted professionals, and experts are on hand to certify authenticity, if needed.  Shippers are also available, in case you can't resist, for example, an 18th century marble mantle for your fireplace back home.

Dates:  September 22 - October 1 Admission:   10€ Location:  Ile des Impressionnistes (Isle of the Impressionists), Chatou, France Directions:   Take the RER A toward Saint-Germain-en-Laye from Paris. Get off at the Rueil-Malmaison station and take the free shuttle to the fair (you can also walk - it's about half a mile), or go one stop farther and get off at the Chatou Croissy station (try to exit at the end of the train) and walk across the footbridge over the Seine River to the fair.

Festival d'Automne (Autumn Festival) Paris

The Paris Autumn Festival  (which extends into February) showcases the latest creations and artists (international as well as French) in contemporary dance, theater, music, cinema, and visual arts at a variety of venues around Paris, include the Grand Hall at Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement, the Pinault Collection at Bourse de Commerce and Louvre in the 1st, and Pompidou Center in the 4th, just to name a few.

This is a hugely popular festival, with over 50 events (many of which extend over several or more days) at over 70 venues in and near Paris.

Most events are ticketed, and many sell out quickly, so don't wait to book, which you can do through the event's website.

Night at the Invalides ( La Nuit aux Invalides ): Napoleon...Flight of the Eagle

The spectactular Night at the Invalides outdoor sound and light show commemorates the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's death with a spectacular new immersive presentation, "The Flight of the Eagle." 

For almost an hour, brilliant video projections against the facade of Les Invalides will take you through the Napoleon legend in this retelling of his brilliant career, first as a general and then as Emperor.  After the show, you can join an optional candlelight tour into the Dôme Chapel to visit Napoleon's Tomb.  You can get show, tour tickets, and if needed, a headset with English translation on the event website.   Want to tour Les Invalides, Napoleon's Tomb, and the Army Museum during regular hours?  Get your priority entry tickets online before you go.

Silhouette Short Film Festival

Wrap up the summer and welcome early fall in Paris at the free outdoor Silhouette Short Film Festival held from August 25-September 2 at Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge in Paris's 19th arrondissement. 

During the festival's 8 days, you'll have the chance to see numerous different French and international short films in a variety of categories:  animation, drama, documentary, experimental, films for young audiences, and more.  Each evening's program kicks off at 6:30pm with a workshop, followed by a concert at 7:30pm.  Films begin at 9pm.

Festivals du Parc Floral:  Paris Jazz Festival, Classic in Green, Pestacles, Nocturnes

Parc Floral (the Paris Botanical Garden) in Bois de Vincennes hosts four concurrent musical festivals:  Paris Jazz Festival, Classic in Green (classical music), Pestacles (a children's concert series for ages 4 and up), and Nocturnes (night concerts of contemperary, jazz, or classical music).

The outdoor concerts take place every Saturday and Sunday on several stages in the park from late June through early September.   Almost all of the 32 concerts are free, although Parc Floral charges a small 3€) entrance fee during summer and early fall. 

Check the Festival's website to download a brochure with dates, lineups, and concert times.  Most take place in the afternoon and early evening, except for the Nocturnes concerts which tend to be late at night.  The brochure is in French, but the information is easy to figure out even if you only know a few words.  Important tip:   if you see "gratuit," that means the concert is free.

Bring a blanket and a picnic or buy wine and a sandwich at the park's snack bar, and get ready for a relaxing afternoon and evening enjoying the sunshine, flowers, wandering peacocks, and virtuoso musicians.

Aespa World Tour 2024: Dates and Cities of K-Pop Concerts Revealed

S M Entertainment’s girl group  Aespa  has announced their 2024 world tour details, including dates and cities. The group will release their comeback album on May 27 and embark on their 2024  SYNK: Parallel Line  tour in June.

Aespa  concluded its first Synk: Hyper Line world tour in Paris on September 30, 2023. The “Black Mamba” crooners toured through 21 cities in 12 countries and held over 31 concerts. One of the highlight points of Aespa’s concerts was their carefully curated setlist, which included a solo track of each member.

Dates and cities of Aespa World Tour 2024 explored

K-pop girl group Aespa has announced 19 concerts in thirteen cities for their second world tour in 2024. The SYNK: Parallel Line tour will start in Seoul with two back-to-back shows. The tour will conclude in Bangkok. As per the official poster, more dates will be announced soon.

Jeezy ‘surviving and thriving’ after Jeannie Mai accuses him of leaving guns around toddler

Jeezy gave an update on how he is doing amid his sour divorce from Jeannie Mai.

After the television personality accused the rapper of leaving an “unsecured” assault rifle in their home , which she alleged their 2-year-old daughter, Monaco, found, he let fans know he’s never been better.

“Surviving and Thriving,” he captioned a post of his Sheen magazine cover on Instagram Thursday.

The “My President” emcee, 46, has been at the center of several allegations by his estranged wife, 45.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six on Thursday, the former “Real” host accused her estranged husband of hiding “dangerous firearms throughout his home which are easily accessible and obviously dangerous to a two-year-old child.”

She also provided photo evidence of Jeezy walking through their home with the rifle in his hands as well as several guns strewn about their residence.

In the same filing, Mai accused the “Soul Survivor” emcee of physically and verbally abusing her. In one specific alleged incident from April 2022, she accused her ex of choking her and pushing her down the stairs while they were spending time at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco.

However, Jeezy vehemently denied the claims in a statement to Page Six Thursday.

“The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved,” he said.

“This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody.”

Earlier this month, he asked for full custody of Monaco and claimed Mai’s schedule was too chaotic to properly care for her. Just days later, he canceled his request in favor of joint custody.

Jeezy previously accused the “Hello Hunnay” host of “gatekeeping” their daughter from him. However, in her response , she claimed she was simply trying to keep Monaco out of harm’s way.

“It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecure in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s wellbeing,” court documents obtained by Page Six in December 2023 read.

The “Put On” rapper filed for divorce in September 2023, reasoning that their partnership was “irretrievably broken.”

Days after he filed, a person close to Mai told Page Six she was “devastated” by their split and “wants her family unit back.”

Jeezy broke his silence on their divorce in October 2023.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart,” he said in a statement to Page Six.

“Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

The “Adversity for Sale: Ya Gotta Believe” author also said he was committed to ensuring Monaco “feels the love and stability she deserves” amid their separation.

Jeezy and Mai walked down the aisle  in March 2021 after three years of dating.

They welcomed their daughter in January 2022.
