Position: C.N.A’S

Shifts: 8HRS/SHIFTS/40HRS/WEEK

Pay Rate = $11/hrs (taxed) + $11/hr (non-taxed)

Requirements

• CA- C.N.A- certification in good standing
• 1+ years of current acute care/sub acute/Long-term experience
• BLS (front/back-signed)
• 2- Current references (RN’s)
• Current – Physical (within-12 months)
• Current – TB Skin Test (within- 12 months)
• Vaccinations/Titers- MMR/Varicella/Hep B
• Tdap and Flu vaccine – current or decline
• Must be able to pass a back ground screening
• Must be able to pass urine drug testing

Old Town Eureka's new building set for grand opening

Apr. 17—On Thursday, Humboldt County will finally have a place to eat sushi and grab a drink four stories off the ground.

On May 4, businesses inside Old Town Eureka's latest architectural addition will throw a grand opening ceremony commemorating the four stories built over two years, but Rooftop Sushi — helmed by local restaurateur Joe Tan of Arcata's Nori and Eureka's Curry Leaf — soft launches on Thursday.

"Putting on any kind of production, there's a rehearsal. That's how I would describe tomorrow and this weekend as their soft opening, working out all the kinks, getting things together," Raelina Krikston, community liaison and director of real estate development at ACGC, the site's developer, said.

In addition to the sushi, the restaurant features moveable hibachi grills, ramen and drinks with a view across the Humboldt Bay.

Several businesses inside the new building at Second and E streets have been open for months — namely erotic boutique Good Relations and perfumery Tulip — but the grand opening for May's Arts Alive! in Eureka aims to give the new building proper pomp and circumstance.

Humboldt Asians and Pacific Islanders in Solidarity will host a Lunar New Year celebration with taiko drum performances and dragon dancers on E Street adjacent to the building at the May 4 Arts Alive! celebration.

While businesses occupy the ground floor and the restaurant sits on the roof, the second and third floors have 13 studio and one-bedroom apartments, nearly all of which are occupied by tenants, Krikston said, though she noted three or four apartments remain up for grabs.

ACGC moved out of their other Old Town office last month into the new building, where they will create an art gallery in their office, cycling through local artists every two months. The first artists will be Gabe and Keith Schneider.

"It's nice to see that all of our business tenants have been in Humboldt for ten-plus years. So being able to support other established businesses is really nice and bringing a tasteful sense of modernity to Old Town as well. The building's outfitted with solar power, a lot of our energy usage is known from those renewable resources," Krikston said. "It's one of the newest elevators in the county."
