Allianz Arena tour
Look behind the scenes.
An area normally reserved for professional footballers and coaches: experience the atmosphere in the players’ area of the Allianz Arena during an arena tour!
When you see it lit up in the red of FC Bayern at night, the football stadium looks a little bit like a spaceship that has just landed from a distant star. Over 300,000 LEDs illuminate the diamond-shaped membranes on Munich’s modern-day landmark. During international matches with the German national team the arena is lit up in white.
A guided tour of the arena, providing glimpses of the players’ dressing rooms and the tunnel, is a truly special experience on match-free days. Here you have the chance to look behind the scenes and see some of the most famous features of this incredible stadium. You will also learn some interesting facts about the Allianz Arena’s unique design.
Visitors can also combine their tour with a trip to the FC Bayern museum : Unlike more traditional football museums, the FC Bayern Museum not only includes countless incredible items, including trophies, shoes and kits worn by major Bayern stars of past and present, it also gives visitors the chance to experience the emotions felt during some of the key moments in the club’s history using cutting-edge exhibition technology.
The arena tour can also be booked as part of a VIP package, complete with champagne reception and a visit to the box, the edge of the pitch itself and the bench. On FC Bayern match days, ticket holders are able to take part in an exclusive match day tour.
Wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility can explore the arena in a specially designed tour. Groups also have the option of booking the tour as a “kick tour”, where they can test out their goal-scoring ability against a real-life replica of the goal board used on the famous German football show “Aktuelle Sportstudio”. For groups of children keen to explore the exciting world of football stars, the kids tour including goal practice is ideal.

Heading into Real clash with momentum
Created on 28-04-2024 at 09:36 AM
They stood together closely as a unit. The images of the Bayern players celebrating the 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt with their fans in the Arena's south stand were symbolic.
Together, fans and players clapped rhythmically to set the tone for Tuesday evening's showdown in the Allianz Arena. The mood is heating up and when Real Madrid visit Munich for the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals, the atmosphere will be scintillating. There's no doubt about it. Together, we are strong.
Winning is the best preparation
“We showed a serious performance today," said board member for sport Max Eberl . "Now, we're looking forward to a great game against Real Madrid. I cannot wait! You can tell there's something special around the corner. A home game under the floodlights with 75,000 fans in a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. What more can you want?” he asked, adding: “The best preparation for such a fantastic football event is to win.”
With four wins in succession, Bayern are in good shape going into this highlight match. The Reds are currently experiencing great stability. Harry Kane further increased his confidence with his Bundesliga goals number 34 and 35 (9', 61') while his colleagues also showed a solid performance.
Kane brace as Bayern beat Frankfurt
Speaking of Kane: the Englishman has now scored 42 competitive goals this season, which is a personal best. 35 goals after 31 games is the third best statistic in Bundesliga history. And, as if that wasn't enough, Kane recorded his 400th goal for club and country. Respect!
“It was a good win and important to keep the momentum going," said the striker. "I hope we can take this confidence into Tuesday's game. Against Real, we need to reach the levels we showed against Arsenal, maybe even more. Real have a fantastic team and a great history in this competition. I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere in the arena."
Laimer scene speaks volumes
Bayern only briefly lost their composure following Frankfurt's beautiful goal scored by Hugo Ekitike (24'). For the rest of the game, the Bavarians didn't give away many more chances, showed clever combinations and saw out the result.
One scene, however, really stood out. It was a meaningful moment as it perfectly illustrated what will be needed against Real Madrid and how solid Bayern's mentality is at the moment.
Prior to the first goal, Konrad Laimer won possession at the halfway line, proved unstoppable on his way forward as he left opponents to the left and right before setting up Kane for a goal. The “Konni-Laimer-Feeling” is what Thomas Müller called the conviction the Bayern team is currently experiencing and exuding. “I feel we're experiencing a better flow currently. We're a little more determined,” Müller exclaimed and added: “We deserved to win and actually missed a few chances. We did a tidy job at the end."
Against Real Madrid, every single player will have to go the limit and beyond for 180 minutes, possibly even more. The second leg of this match-up against Carlo Ancelotti's boys will take place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on 8 May. The final takes place on 1 June at Wembley Stadium in London.
Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel also immediately switched into Champions League mode following Saturday's win: “It's always special against Carlo. We'll try to give his team a hard time. We need the stadium behind us. Then it will start off as a 50:50 match. We accept the challenge,” Tuchel announced.

As always, the fans were already in good form against Frankfurt. However, you could sense that little bit extra among the crowd as well. “We'll win the cup again,” they sang and of course the famous: “Arjen did it.”
It's time to dream. As always, however, it's business before pleasure.
At Bayern Munich, everyone is ready.

Theatres in Moscow
Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.
There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.
A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.
Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.
The Bolshoi Theatre
The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.
If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.
In August the Bolshoi is closed.
The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre
This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.
The Novaya Opera
“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. You can buy tickets online here http://www.novayaopera.ru/en .
Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center
The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. You can see what is on the program here http://opera-centre.ru/theatre . Unfortunately “booking tickets online” is available in Russian only. If you need help, you can contact us at and we can book a ticket for you.
Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory
These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. You can check the program here http://meloman.ru/calendar/ . You need just to switch to English. Booking tickets online is available only for owners of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian phone numbers. If you need help, you can contact us and we can book a ticket for you.
Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)
This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The program is impressive in its variety but is not translated into English. You can contact us at and we can find a performance for you.

Vodka Museum Tour with transport (excursion only)
Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.
Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other
Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.
Moscow Tours centering on Russian History
Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.
Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers
What is the best time to visit moscow.
Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide
How many days are enough in Moscow?
If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.
Do they speak English in Moscow?
As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.
Is it safe to travel to Moscow?
It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
