Take an east coast canada tour with caravan tours.

Caravan’s all-inclusive east coast Canada tours are also fully guided!

Our east coast Canada tour is extremely popular and a “must do” for even the most avid traveler. Why not add a Canadian Maritimes tour to your bucket list?

A Canada east coast road trip is like entering an enchanted world that transports you to a mixture of quaint old world charm and new world wonders. Driving through the maritime provinces, Caravan’s Canadian east coast bus tours offer tourists a mixture of aquatic adventures, urban experiences, cultural diversity, historic Canadian sites, scenic tours, and hours of fascinating activities.

About Canada

Canada is a remarkably large country, the second largest country in the world behind Russia!

To travel by land from Vancouver (on Canada’s Pacific west coast) to Halifax (on Canada’s Atlantic east coast), one must cover approximately 2755 miles (or 4430 kilometers).

Canada is also home to almost 17,400 miles of incredibly beautiful coastline including the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Arctic Ocean to the north.

Most non-Canadians view Canada’s largest city, Toronto, as being in eastern Canada when in fact, Toronto Ontario is almost 800 miles inland from Atlantic Canada’s Halifax Nova Scotia .

Toronto is unique however, in that it is still accessible by water from the Atlantic Ocean because the St. Lawrence River extends almost 744 miles inland from the Atlantic coast, all the way to Lake Ontario. In fact, many Canadian east coast tours will actually begin in Ontario or Quebec.

Caravan offers two Canadian vacation packages ; Canadian Rockies tour and our Maritime provinces tour. Our current east coast Canada tours begin and end in the heart of the Canadian Maritimes, in historic Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia East Coast Canada Tours

For a real taste of eastern Canada, travelers on our east coast Canada tours will experience the maritime province of Nova Scotia, Canada’s second smallest province (behind PEI). Did you know that no matter where you are in Nova Scotia you are never more than 80-km (50 miles) from the coast?

Caravan Nova Scotia vacation packages will introduce you to Nova Scotia’s warm friendly people, the amazing rugged coastline scenery (especially in the Cape Breton region), and the province’s cultural diversity. There’s a real sense of down home community.

Throughout the province of Nova Scotia tourists can enjoy rich historical sites, including:

  • The UNESCO world heritage site of old town Lunenburg
  • Fishermen’s village of Peggy’s Cove (a unique artist’s retreat located a short distance south of Halifax)

All types of outdoor east coast activities and adventure sports are available here. Nova Scotia tours impress the worldliest of travelers, who are never more struck by unspoiled natural beauty than what is offered by the spectacular Nova Scotia landscape.

PEI – Prince Edward Island Tours

Prince Edward Island, another destination on Caravan’s east coast Canada tours, is the place to visit for unique artistic and cultural heritage of the islanders. It is commonly referred to as the “Garden of the Gulf.”

This island is the smallest province in Canada and is endowed with beautiful white sandy beaches, circled by great scenic beauty. Caravan’s PEI tours offer tourists one of Canada’s most relaxing destinations.

Cavendish House – PEI is also home to the “Cavendish” house, the location of one of Canada’s greatest stories, “Anne of Green Gables.”

Charlottetown – Tourists can also enjoy Downtown Charlottetown, a vibrant seaside community and the capital of Prince Edward Island. From waterside boardwalks to craft shops, restaurants, and carriage rides, there is plenty to charm tourists, not to mention all of the frequent festivals and celebrations.

Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island is connected to the mainland through the Canso Causeway, a long rock-fill that allows Canadians to drive back and forth. Guests on Caravan’s Cape Breton Island tours are treated to the famous Cabot Trail , notorious for being one of the most beautiful and breathtaking drives in the world, with both mountain and coastal scenery.

Other popular sights and activities on Cape Breton Island include:

  • Mi’Kmaq Native Indian Reserve and Heritage Center
  • Cabot Trail, considered one of the world’s most beautiful coastal drives
  • 18 th century Fortress of Louisbourg, part of the Canadian Park Service
  • French Canadian fishing village of Cheticamp
  • Cape Breton Island’s National Park
  • Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck, Nova Scotia
  • Seasonal whale watching including minke whales, fin whales, pilot whales and dolphins

New Brunswick Sightseeing

Confederation Bridge – The majority of tourists traveling between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island on Canadian east coast tours use the Confederation Bridge , a toll bridge that spans over 8 miles of the Atlantic Ocean, rises over 130 feet above the ocean and takes a full 10 minutes to cross. This is still the world’s longest ocean crossing bridge! It took four years to build with the help of over 5,000 local workers and cost over one billion dollars.

Bay of Fundy –  Canada’s Bay of Fundy is perhaps one of the biggest draws for most New Brunswick tours. The Bay of Fundy is home to the world’s fastest changing tides, which can rise or fall up to 8 feet per hour. The Fundy Tides are also the world’s largest, rising and falling an amazing 50 feet. Because of the size and speed of the changing tides, twice a day the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean is forced back against the Saint Lawrence River and waves appear to be going up river! Look for Fundy Tides as part of most east coast Canada tours.

Flowerpot Rocks – Located at Hopewell Cape, Flowerpot Rocks are unique rock formations that were carved by the coastal waters over thousands of years. This is a popular New Brunswick park where at low tide you can walk along the ocean’s floor prior to witnessing the powerful tide that the area is famous for. Bay of Fundy tides can change as quickly as 6 to 8 feet per hour so tourists on Canadian east coast tours that visit this area are bound to see the infamous tides in action.

Today will be an unforgettable experience; some say the scenery that Gros Morne offers is unequaled in Eastern Canada .  (Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner) Option: Passengers may request on booking to take a scenic boat tour on Western Brook Pond and visit the Broom Point Fishing Premises in lieu of the scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay and visit the Tablelands.  While some may consider the boat tour on Western Brook Pond to be a superior outing, please note that there is a 45-minute walk (3 km/2 miles) from the parking lot to the dock and a 45-minute walk back.  This option must be requested on booking.

DAY 13: Cow Head to Deer Lake, NL Have your camera ready as your time in Gros Morne National Park draws to a close. Continue to Deer Lake to catch your flight. Atlantic Tours arrangements end on arrival at the Deer Lake Airport. (Breakfast) Please note:  Our tour arrives back in Deer Lake at approximately 12:30 pm and you should not book your flight out of Deer Lake any earlier than 1:30 PM.

Canada coach / bus tour reviews.

I have a great time! Ben is our tour guide, he’s such a great fun, knowledgeable, friendly person. He made sure everyone comfortable, safe, and ready to answer any questions we have during the tour. I did group tour before, I can tell Ben is one of the best.
Really awesome! I enjoyed it immensely plus our guide Jay was so accommodating to everyone's personal wants to the tour. Also he's really versatile and knows exactly how to time everything so we're not bothered too much by the tourist rushes. It was so great. I'm so happy I went ^^
We real enjoyed our time away.
