People begin trekking from the ticket counter itself. But the starting point for the trek is at the watchtower, about 1 km away. And you can drive your vehicle to the parking spot near that tower. Jeeps are also available from the ticket counter to take you to the Chembra Peak trek starting point.

You will need permission from the forest department to begin your trek. And only 200 people are given Chembra Peak permission per day, on a first-come-first-serve basis. You can get yours on the spot from the ticket counter. The tickets also include the charges for a guide. Although you don't need a guide for the trek, having one will enhance the experience. The guides have interesting stories related to Chembra Peak, the city and the surrounding area.

From the watchtower, the trek to the heart-shaped Chembra Peak pond begins, the one-way distance of which is about 2 km. The pond, known as hridhayathadakam in the local language, is set among green meadows, alongside gorgeous panoramic views of the valley.

The trekking trail is rated as moderately difficult, and it takes you through tea plantations and the forest. Afterwards, you get in the open space, with an easy to moderate difficulty trekking.

At its highest point, you will witness the top view of the lake. From there, you can walk your way down to the lake. After spending time there, you must descend to the base, i.e. the ticket counter, by evening. Overnight camping is not allowed at Chembra Peak.

Chembra Peak Wayanad trekking is the most exquisite trekking experience in all of Kerala.

The total length of the trek is around 4.5 km to the Chembra Peak. The watchtower is about a km away from the counter and the lake is 2 km uphill from there. The peak is further 1.5 km from the lake, but the guards and guides don’t allow trekking till there. So, the effective length of the trek is around 3-3.5 km.

Chembra Peak Wayanad Timings and Entry Fee

The day trekking at Chembra Peak begins at 7 AM. It is organised every day if the conditions are favourable. Chembra Peak closing time is 5 PM, but you must reach there before 2 PM. No trekking permissions are issued after that.

Chembra Peak trek booking charges are ₹750 for a group of 10 (or fewer) Indian nationals. If the group exceeds 10 people, ₹75 is charged for each extra person. The fee includes the trekking permit and the services of a trekking guide.

For foreigners, Chembra Peak ticket rate is ₹1500 for a group of 5 people. ₹300 is charged for each extra person.

Along with the trekking charges, you also have to pay ₹20 as entrance fee and ₹40 as camera fee. Those charges apply to Indian nationals. Foreign nationals need to pay ₹30 as entrance fee and ₹80 as camera fee. For students, Chembra Peak entry fee is only ₹15.

Best time to visit chembra peak.

You can go for a Chembra Peak trek throughout the year, except monsoons. The heavy monsoon rains make the track slippery and dangerous for a trek. You should also skip trekking in summer, as it is too humid for an enjoyable trek.

Therefore, the best season for the trek is during winter, after the monsoon. From December to February, the weather of Chembra Peak is cool, and the environment has a fresh green cover.

Also, it is best to start the trek early in the morning. You can thus enjoy your trek your way up to the peak in the cool dewy air.

Time to explore Chembra Peak Wayanad

It takes around 5-6 hours to complete Chembra Peak trek at a comfortable pace. It will take about an hour, on foot, to reach the watchtower. And from there, it is another 2-hour trek to the heart lake, through the tea plantations, forests and meadows. There, you can rest for an hour or walk around enjoying the views, before tracing your steps back.

Things to keep in mind while visiting Chembra Peak

  • Only 200 people can go trekking in a day.
  • Avoid the trek if you have health problems.
  • Have your ID proof with you during your visit.
  • Group with others to share the cost of the permit if you're fewer than 10 people.
  • Be with your group always.
  • Take a guide for the best experience.
  • Avoid roaming away from the marked trail.
  • Carry plenty of water during the trek.
  • Pack some snacks, but remember not to litter.
  • Wear comfortable and sturdy footwear.
  • Take an umbrella/raincoat.
  • Return to the base before sunset.

A very wonderful and fun filled blog about Chembra peak, near Kalpetta. Kalpetta, which is surrounded by dense coffee and tea plantations is the center of tourism activities in Wayanad. There are many places to visit in Kalpetta which makes it a tourist spot famous for shopping and trade.

I got your mail. I reply you there.

Step one: Open the below map link in browser

First point in the map, you will see “KTDC Tamarind Thirunelly”

KTDC stands for Kerala Tourism Development Corporation; Tamarind is the name of the hotel and Thirunelly is the place.

Second point in the map, you will see “Thirunelli Forest Guest House”

This is the place where you have to take the permission for trekking. You can not go alone. A guide is a must. Night camping inside the forest area not allowed to just one day trek of total 12-13 kms

Third point in the map, you will see “Thirunelli Pakshipathalam Trek”

Well, you will walk along this trek almost half the way and then change the trek to Brahmagiri Midway. Trek to Pakshipathalam is no more allowed.

I stayed in KTDC Tamarind. Reason: Far from crowd, serene and economical.

Here is the website link for the guest house: http://www.ktdc.com/tamarind-thirunelli.php

Chembra Peak

You need not have to spend a fortune, leave your family to set out on a long journey to watch the cloud-studded pond tucked somewhere in a distant continent. The place is well here, right in Wayanad in Northern Kerala, up the peak of Chembra, some 2100mts above sea level. People call the pond ‘hridayasarassu’ – heart-shaped pond.’

The trek uphill

The trek uphill begins modestly along tea plantations, but then it gathers momentum and gravity. The mountain slowly rises under your feet, which you could feel in your calf muscles. Stop. Take a deep breath. Walk again. Your lungs are refreshed with the mountain air. Slowly the panoramic views of the valleys emerge out of the morning air to claim your rapt attention.

The heart-shaped pond:  After an hour, with the gaped mouth, you stand on the banks of a pond laid carefully on a bed of crispy green meadow. Nature doesn’t mince its symbols to tell you how much you’re still loved, your eyes well up at the sight of the spectacular sight of the heart-shaped pond which you wanted to see all your life.  It is around 3 km trek from the base camp.

This is a full day package organized by the forest department. Best time to visit is during August-May.  Visiting Time: 7.00 AM to 5.00PM (those who wish to take trekking must reach before 02.00 pm)

The course to the peak itself has a splendid vista alongside a heart-molded lake, cascades, and verdant greenery all through the top. It is a prime location for trekking however earlier consent from the Meppadi forest office should be taken before beginning the trek.

Chembra Peak Trek Itinerary

About the Trek: The trek to Chembra top navigates through five different peaks before you finally arrive at the last one. The path starts at the watchtower. The trekking course passes along the tea plantations. No sooner than the trek gathers thrust, the uphill ascent commences. The trail moves out of the forest and enters an overgrown grassland area. In 30 minutes, you'll enter a generally flat land. There will be a little puddle to your right side. The trail ascends again from here. In 15 minutes you will reach the heart-shaped lake. The heart-shaped lake is said to have never evaporated. It is one of the highest attractions at this peak. This lake is known as Hridhayathadakam and is the midpoint of the trek. It'll take you around 2 hours from the lake to reach Chembra top.

The peak directly before the lake is the first of the six peaks. The course here is very clear. You should simply move towards a higher top in front of you. If you lose the check, you'll know you're right track if you see another peak approaching ahead. Chembra is the most noteworthy of the 6 pinnacles so you will know when you have reached there.

From the peak, you can view the entire of Wayanad with its blend of tea and coffee estates and forests. On a cloudy day, perceptibility is scarcely 100 meters. However, getting engulfed by mist on the head of a slope is a novel experience in itself. The brilliant green of the tea domains sticks out, significantly more, when you peer at them through an unexpected opening in the mists. You can likewise locate Banasura Dam , Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Nilgiri areas from here. You will get astonished with the enchanting excellence of nature here.

Getting back: The descent is back on a similar path that you took to go up. In case you're trekking during or just after monsoon, the route could be slippery. It'll take 3 to 4 hours to arrive at the watchtower. Camping isn’t permitted at the top because of the danger of stumbling upon a wild animal from the proximal forests. So ensure you return before it gets dark. Rickshaws are easily accessible from the watchtower. The return fare to Meppadi is just Rs.15 per head. You can either decide to stay back in Wayanad to explore Soochipara falls which are also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfall. Or return from Kalpetta to Bangalore . Wayanad has a lot of surreal places that one can delight in. Along with the three-tiered waterfall, there are spots like Kuruvadweep (a river island), Banasura dam, Pookode Lake, Meenmutty waterfalls, and a few other viewpoints which are at a nearby distance.

Chembra Peak – A Trek To The Heart-Shaped Lake

chembra trek guide

Table of Contents

About Chembra Peak

Chembra Peak is a mountain in the Wayanad district of Kerala. It is located at an elevation of 2100 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak in Wayanad and one of the highest in the Western Ghats. The Chembra Peak trek lasts about 4.5 km until you reach the Chembra Peak lake. The shape of the lake is particularly noteworthy for its resemblance to a heart. According to legend, Goddess Sita bathed in this lake, which has never dried up despite the seasons. It’s a beautiful setting, and the hike up to the peak takes you through lush greenery and water bodies in between.

Chembra Peak Trek

The uphill roadway journey begins along the tea plantations as you approach the Chembra peak trek bend. Hills, tea plantations, and a lush green valley surround the entire area. Furthermore, the trek path then leads you through tea plantations and the forest before arriving at the open space with the Chembra Peak view and heart-shaped lake.

Chembra Peak Trekking Tokens and Tickets

Trekking ticket information.

If you wish to embark on a trek, you must arrive at the Chembra Peak checkpoint by 6.30 am, as only 200 individuals can trek on any given day. Then, you must first register with the personnel, and they will only provide the tokens in groups of 5. If your group is small you can ask fellow trekkers to tag along. Similarly, if the group has extra members, two or more people might join the five-member group for an additional cost. A group of five can trek for 1700 rupees.

And after, you must have the water bottles tagged that you will be carrying on the trek. This is due to the fact that the forest zone is plastic-free, and we should not bring any plastic items that will litter the area. Following that, the staff will issue trek tickets to a group of five people, and we will be able to begin the trek. This entire process will take nearly two hours, which we consider excessive.

Visitor Tickets Information

You can also visit the peak without trekking; the entrance fee for visitors is 30 rupees. Visitors will be permitted up to the second checkpoint, which is 600 m away from the first.

Parking Lot

We can drive another kilometer from the ticket desk to a parking lot, where a spacious parking area for all types of vehicles is available for an additional 50 rupees. Then walk about 300 m to the main checkpoint gate as vehicles are permitted only until the parking lot, from which we can begin our trek.

Tea Plantation View

The Trek to the Summit

Visitor’s viewpoint/trekkers base point.

Initial hike trail view of Chembra Peak

The walking trail is wide until you reach the first checkpoint. A wide hiking trail connects this point to the trek’s base checking point. The entire approach offers views of the tea plantations below as well as the forest and mountains above. Trekkers can continue on after another security check, but visitors cannot.

A small house-like structure with restrooms is present, most likely for shelter. During our visit, there was some bamboo tree construction going on outside the building, which will be snack/tea stalls in the future. There are benches and drinking water available at this time. There will be no more zones further with drinking water, restrooms, or shelter.

Following the base checkpoint, the Chembra peak trek is divided into three stages.

The Passageway through the Woods

To begin, you must travel through the woods on a muddy slope path. Because the climb is not difficult here, you can easily climb in the shade of the trees. There will be no views other than the trees on either side of this zone. Nevertheless, remember that this area will be slick during the rainy season. After you complete this zone, another guard will check your tickets before you continue on. So there will be a total of three guards checking our entry tickets. Then, every 600 m to km, there will be forest guards to keep an eye on the travelers.

The Path through the Savannas

View from the top on the path to the trek

The journey continues on a hilly rock with grasslands on either end. The path here is a narrow and rocky one. The scenery along the way is breathtaking, and you can enjoy it while walking. You’ll get some sunlight along this path, and it won’t be windy, so you might get hot as you climb. You can relax on some of the rock outcrops along the way. This way, you will be less tired and able to enjoy the trekking experience more. There are also a few scenic spots to stop and take photos. Along the trip, there are mini-water bodies, and at one point, taps are connected to offer water as refreshments to trekkers.

Top View from the grassland view

After moving along this segment, you will reach a plain area on the mountain. We initially mistook the heart-shaped body of water there for the Chembra peak lake. Later, a nearby guide informed us it was merely a rainwater formation, as the real lake is at the top. To get to the lake, we still had to walk for about 10 minutes on the narrow path. The view of the surrounding area and the nearby mountain is spectacular. The weather will be windy here, but the atmosphere will make the journey worthwhile. You can take some photos here before continuing on to Chembra Peak Lake.

Chembra Peak Lake

Chembra peak lake

To reach the plain on the mountain where Chembra Peak Lake is located, you must climb the narrow hill path once more. There will be another guard here to direct us to the lake. The heart-shaped lake is nestled among the green meadows, with breathtaking valley views. You can walk around the lake to get to the bottom. However, no one is permitted to enter the lake. You can unwind and have some snacks here without littering the place. The view from here is spectacular, and the breeze is an entirely different experience. We are only allowed to walk to the lake’s edge, not all the way to the peak’s summit. According to the guards, elephants would appear along this path in the early morning and at night.

Chembra Peak View

Descending Peak

We started descending the same path after spending some time at the top near Chembra peak lake. When descending, be cautious because the path may be slippery, especially if you are trekking during the rainy season. It will take nearly the same amount of time to climb up and down.

How To Reach Chembra Peak

Travel Tips For Chembra Peak Trek

  • Chembra Peak is open from 7 am to 5 pm. There are two ways to visit Chembra Peak: a visitor or a trekker. If you are going as a visitor, you can visit the peak until 4 pm, but if you want to go on a trek, you must arrive by 6.30 am at the latest, as only 200 people are allowed per day.
  • The hike to the last point, which is the lake, is about 3.5 km one way. The peak is still 1.5 km from the lake, but the guards will not let you go past the lake point because it is a wildlife area.
  • If the weather conditions are favorable, trekking is organized every day. So, consider the weather before embarking on your journey.
  • Trekking is a moderately difficult event here.
  • The peak does not allow overnight camping so at most, you must descend by 2 pm.
  • There will be no shelter along the trek, so bring rain ponchos if visiting during the rainy season. Keep hats and sunglasses on hand in other seasons.
  • Washrooms are available at both the ticket counter and the base trek point.
  • Bring enough water and snacks, such as energy bars or fruits, to replenish your energy as you approach the summit, but don’t overdo it.
  • Read our post on Mullayanagiri Peak for a similar excursion.

Trekking Safety Precautions

  • Ensure you’re in good physical condition before starting the trek.
  • Stick along the marked trail and stay out of restricted or off-limits areas. Deviating from the path can result in an accident or getting lost. Adhere to the directions of the guards and officials stationed along the route.
  • Dress comfortably and wear appropriate hiking shoes. If you don’t prefer shoes, wear slippers with good grips.
  • Consider using trekking poles to provide stability and support while climbing. You can also find sturdy logs to use as support while climbing along the way. During our visit, we noticed slashed logs close to the starting point.
  • Further, if you visit during the wet season, you may encounter a few leeches, so be cautious.

Our Experience

We hiked to Chembra Peak in October. The weather was perfect for our visit. Fortunately, it did not rain the day we went on our hike, as it did the next day. We were extremely lucky to arrive just a few minutes before the token had run out for the day. Even so, we had to wait nearly two hours before we could begin our journey. Then there was the breathtaking hike to the tranquil heart-shaped lake. We spent nearly a half-day at Chembra Peak, and it was definitely worth it.

The forest department protects the area and maintains its pristine nature, making it one of the most exotic treks to the peak if you’re looking for a serene nature hike. This is a paradise for hikers, nature lovers, and photographers. The mist-covered mountain view, which almost feels like you can hold it, is one of the most amazing experiences of the trek.

Star trek: discovery season 5, episode 5 ending explained.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5 contains two major reveals about the Mirror Universe and the Breen. We break down what the ending means.

Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Discovery Season 5, Episode 5 - "Mirrors"

  • Star Trek: Discovery's next clue is hidden aboard the Mirror Universe's ISS Enterprise trapped in interdimensional space.
  • L'ak is a Breen with a blood bounty on his head, and his backstory with Moll is revealed.
  • The USS Discovery crew, led by Commander Rayner, helps save Burnham and Book and bring the ISS Enterprise into the Prime Universe, but Moll and L'ak escape.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5, "Mirrors," ends with Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the USS Discovery's crew grappling with jaw-dropping reveals about the Mirror Universe's ISS Enterprise, L'ak's (Elias Toufexis) species, and the next clue in the hunt for the Progenitors' treasure. Written by Johanna Lee and Carlos Cisco and directed by Jen McGowan, the thrilling "Mirrors" sends Burnham and Cleveland Booker (David Ajala) into interdimensional space after Moll (Eve Harlow) and L'ak and the third Progenitors' clue , but they found a lot more than they bargained for.

In Star Trek: Discovery s eason 5, episode 5, Captain Burnham, Cleveland Booker, Moll, and L'ak are all trapped aboard the derelict ISS Enterprise after Burnham's shuttle and L'ak's ship are destroyed by interdimensional space, a dangerous region between Star Trek 's Prime and Mirror Universes . Michael ingeniously uses the Enterprise's tractor beam to send a distress signal to the USS Discovery, where Commander Rayner (Callum Keith Rennie) and the bridge crew find a way to keep the aperture of the interdimensional space wormhole open to fly the ISS Enterprise through. However, L'ak and Moll make their escape, leaving Burnham, Book, and the Starfleet heroes to grapple with the third clue to the Progenitors' treasure, and what they learned and found in the wormhole.

The ISS Enterprise's first and only previous appearance was in Star Trek: The Original Series season 2's "Mirror, Mirror", which introduced the Mirror Universe.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Returning Cast & New Character Guide

Captain kirk's mirror universe iss enterprise now belongs to 32nd century starfleet, it's been a long road for the iss enterprise.

The Mirror Universe's ISS Enterprise becomes the property of the 32nd century's Starfleet and United Federation of Planets at the end of Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5, "Mirrors." Captain Burnham assigned Lt. Commanders Kayla Detmer (Emily Coutts) and Joann Owosekun (Oyin Oladejo) - who don't actually appear in the episode - to fly the ISS Enterprise back to Federation HQ to be put into "storage". However, the acquisition of a major historical find like a 23rd-century Constitution Class starship filled with Terran Empire technology from the Mirror Universe is bound to be of interest to Dr. Kovich (David Cronenberg).

After the Temporal Wars, crossing over between the Mirror Universe and Star Trek 's Prime universe is now impossible, but the ISS Enteprise was trapped in interdimensional space for centuries, which crossing over could still happen.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5's ISS Enterprise scenes were filmed on the USS Enterprise sets of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds . Discovery season 5's production took place at the end of 2022, after Strange New Worlds season 2 had wrapped in June and long before Strange New Worlds season 3 filming started in December 2023. The USS Enterprise's bridge, medical bay, transporter room, and hallways were redressed to turn the starship into its Mirror Universe counterpart.

Commander Michael Burnham previously came aboard Captain Christopher Pike's (Anson Mount) USS Enterprise in Star Trek: Discovery season 2.

Star Trek: Discovery's Mirror Universe Revelations

We found out what happened to mirror spock and mirror saru.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5's ISS Enterprise appearance answered some big questions about the events of the Mirror Universe after Star Trek: The Original Series ' "Mirror, Mirror." Cleveland Booker learned from the plaque where the Enterprise's missing crew left their story behind that the Terran High Chancellor was assassinated after making reforms. This refers to the Mirror Universe's Spock (Leonard Nimoy), who was urged by the Prime Universe's Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) to make reforms to prevent the inevitable collapse of the Terran Empire, which happened anyway.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 's Mirror Universe episodes revealed that the Terran Empire, weakened by Spock's reforms, was conquered by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.

Refugees led by a Kelpien slave-turned-rebel leader - Saru (Doug Jones) - used the ISS Enterprise to flee the Mirror Universe for the Prime Universe in the 23rd century, but the starship was trapped in interdimensional space. The Enterprise's crew eventually used the ship's shuttles and escape pods to abandon the starship in an effort to make it to the Prime Universe. Some did make it through, including the ISS Enterprise's junior science officer, Dr. Cho , who later joined Starfleet and became a branch Admiral in the 24th century.

Jinaal Bix redacted the names of the scientists who found the Progenitors' technology, including Dr. Cho.

Moll & L'ak Escaped Discovery With A Breen Bounty On Their Heads

L'ak is the nephew of the breen primarch.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5 revealed the backstory of Moll and L'ak, including the revelation that L'ak is Breen . Years before Star Trek: Discovery season 5, Moll was a courier who sold latinum to the Breen Imperium, where she met L'ak, the nephew of the Breen's Primarch Ruhn (Tony Nappo), who had fallen out of favor and was working in the shuttle bay. Moll and L'ak fell in love , and L'ak committed a crime against the Breen by consorting with "a lesser being" and removing his helmet to show Moll his true face. Confronted by his uncle, L'ak shot the Primarch and fled with Moll.

Moll and L'ak used one of the ISS Enterprise's remaining warp pods to flee capture.

Moll and L'ak both have an Erigah, a Breen blood bounty, on their heads, and they hope that finding the Progenitors' treasure and selling it to the Breen will buy their freedom. Neither Moll and L'ak want the Federation's help offered by Captain Burnham, and they would "rather die" than be separated in a Federation prison. L'ak was injured in a brawl with Burnham, but instead of seeking medical attention from the USS Discovery, Moll and L'ak used one of the ISS Enterprise's remaining warp pods to flee capture. However, this time, Moll and L'ak left behind a warp trail Discovery can follow.

Cleveland Booker Tries To Connect With Moll

Booker's mentor was moll's absentee father.

Cleveland Booker has personal reasons to connect with and save Moll. Moll's real name is Malinne Booker, and she is the daughter of Book's late mentor, Cleveland Booker IV . Moll's father abandoned her and her mother to become a courier and raise the funds needed to move his family to a new home in the Gamma Quadrant. However, Booker IV's dangerous life as a courier and dealings with criminal organizations like the Emerald Chain made him keep his distance from Malinne, who blamed him for leaving her behind.

Moll doesn't want Cleveland Booker in her life.

Moll became a courier like her father to do what he didn't and earn enough latinum to move to the Gamma Quadrant, but Moll's entire world shifted when she fell in love with L'ak and the Breen placed a blood bounty on their head s. Moll doesn't want Cleveland Booker in her life , but she relents when she has the chance to kill the man who took her father's name. Whether Moll will ever come to see Book as the "only family" she has left, the way Book sees her, remains to be seen.

Commander Rayner Got The Best Out Of USS Discovery's Crew

Citrus mash for everyone.

Captain Burnham left Commander Rayner at the conn of the USS Discovery while she and Book went on their away mission, despite Rayner's reservations about leading Burnham's crew. However, Rayner was impressed that Burnhum learned Kellerun literature to connect with her new First Officer. This knowledge was the key to Rayner saving Burnham from interdimensional space. Burnham used the ISS Enterprise's tractor beam to send a signal the Kellerun commander would understand.

Rayner gained a new appreciation for Discovery's crew and how to work with them as his own crew.

Commander Rayner placed his trust in the USS Discovery's crew to "science" a way to open the wormhole's aperture and pull the ISS Enterprise into the Prime Universe. Commander Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp). Lt. Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman), Ensign Adira Tal (Blu del Barrio), Lt. Commander Gen Rhys (Patrick Kwok-Choon), Lt. Christopher (Orville Cummings), Lt. Linus (David Benjamin Tomlinson), Lt. Naya (Victoria Sawal), Lt. Commander Asha (Christina Dixon), and Lt. Gallo (Natalie Liconti) all rose to the occasion and found a way to save Burnham and Book. In turn, Rayner gained a new appreciation for Discovery's crew and how to work with them as his own crew.

Dr. Culber Reaches Out To Tilly

Culber has questions science can't answer.

The USS Discovery's counselor, Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz), needs a counselor of his own. Culber continues to deal with the unimaginable experience of Trill scientist Jinaal Bix occupying his mind and body in Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 3, "Jinaal." Being taken over by a Trill has left Culber with existential questions, and he hopes finding the Progenitors' technology will provide him with the answers he seeks.

Hugh finds a sympathetic ear in Lt. Sylvia Tilly.

Unfortunately for Hugh, he doesn't believe he can share his feelings with his husband, Commander Paul Stamets because Paul is a man of science, and Culber's questions are ineffable. Hugh finds a sympathetic ear in Lt. Sylvia Tilly, but the answers Dr. Culber seeks are tied to what the USS Discovery finds when they locate the Progenitors' treasure - or so Hugh hopes. Culber, who has already died and been resurrected, may find himself in a new scenario that has pivotal life-or-death decisions in Star Trek: Discovery season 5.

Dr. Hugh Culber's dilemma in Star Trek: Discovery season 5 is a rare attempt by Star Trek to address spiritual questions.

Where Star Trek: Discovery's Next Progenitors' Treasure Clue Leads

The next clue involves water.

Captain Burnham acquired the third clue from Moll and L'ak, which is a vial of water contained within a piece of the Progenitors' treasure map. Burnham is waiting for Commander Stamets to conduct a chemical analysis of the water, which will reveal where the USS Discovery must go next for the 4th clue . However, Michael told Book that Dr. Cho, the former Terran scientist who became a Starfleet Admiral, went back to the ISS Enterprise in interdimensional space and hid her clue to the Progenitors' technology there.

Michael also told Book she saw him in the past during Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 4, "Face the Strange's" time loops, and that they were happy back then.

Burnham and Book mused over the lessons attached to each clue. On Trill, finding Jinaal's clue was dependent on Burnham and Booker proving they value lifeforms other than their own. On Lyrek for the first clue, the lesson was the importance of cultural context. Michael surmised that the lesson Dr. Cho left behind with her clue on the ISS Enterprise was to have the hope to shape your own future in Star Trek: Discovery season 5 as the search for the Progenitors' treasure and the answers to life, itself, continues.
