COVID-19 UPDATE - GROUP JOURNEYS ARE UNDERWAY
There are no longer Covid-19 vaccination requirements, departure/arrival testing, or online APPs to complete for any of our journeys.
Deepening your faith
Starts with taking the next step on your Christian Journey
Group travel, whether it is with a Christian theme, such as the Bible Lands, Mediterranean and Europe, or any group for that matter, should be an enriching and memorable travel experience.
Many churches and organizations view group travel as a very important ‘extension of ministry’. Bringing the Bible to Life or exploring Christian history are just two of the many rewarding options available in group travel. Those that embrace such travel often find themselves enjoying a wonderful journey annually.
The fellowship and enjoyment of traveling with like-minded people are two wonderful intangibles that only you the traveler can quantify once home and reflecting on your group tour experience.
No two groups are ever the same and we always ensure that your group’s needs and expectations are not only met, but surpassed!

What people are saying.
Without hesitation, our second trip to the wonderful land of Israel will begin with a call to Christian Journeys – with anticipation for what will be ahead. It is our desire to take others with us to experience all that we were blessed to receive.
Pastors Blake & Adrienne Joiner Living Word Christian Fellowship - Surrey, BC, Canada
I so thoroughly was blessed by the journey, words can hardly express my feelings. The whole format was excellent–time to visit sites, but time also to meet the people of the land, and time together as a group. I can’t wait to go again–by God’s grace, perhaps that will be soon.
Louise Karlsson BC, Canada
I found Brian and the representatives in Israel were always happy to accommodate our specific needs and desires. I would highly recommend Christian Journeys to any who are considering a tour to Israel.

WHAT OUR ESTEEMED CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US
It is always a pleasure working with you and your team. You guys understand the importance of selecting the sites and details including selecting the right Christian guides in order for the Bible to come alive. You have trained your guides to know exactly how to work in tandem with pastors and allow the time to teach at sites. As far as pricing goes, we feel as though we got a 13 day trip for the price of a 10 day tour. For me the highlight was when you arrived in Jerusalem for our farewell dinner and shook my hand. That truly made me believe that you really knew what “customer service” meant and went the extra mile to make us feel special. We’re ready to book our next trip! Next year in Israel!
Thank you so much for making our trip possible in spite of all of the challenges we faced. I recall, when the war in Israel started it was three weeks before departure. All our folks thought we would lose all our money because no one would go to Israel with rockets flying. Insurance companies would not pay out anything because war is not covered. Two weeks later you emailed us and changed the dates to three months out at no added cost. Wow! That was the workings of a true Christian! You could have charged us more to go two months later. But you did not and that’s a God fearing Christian right there. Friendship Tours, your travel ministry, has my business for as along as I can travel.
Friendship Tours has been my only travel provider for three decades. From the Bible lands to Europe and the Reformation sites, they have always given me excellent service at the right price. I have always felt safe and satisfied. Their on the ground support has always made you know that every need will be covered. They are an industry leader you can trust.

Christian Group Tours to Israel
1. rich history, 2. the beaches.
If you can’t resist beaches, you are going to fall in love with Israel’s beaches. Israel has one of the most exotic beaches in the Middle East. The Mediterranean Sea is considered a natural wonder and acts as the western border of Israel.
From the urban shores of Tel Aviv to Acre in the north, almost all of Israel’s coastline is wonderful to see and easily accessible. While enjoying the cool sand of the beach and watching the sunset, you can satisfy your appetite with fresh fish.
3. Holy Jerusalem
Jerusalem, the official capital and holy city is religiously important for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The city is home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Western Wall, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Anyone who follows any of these religions will want to visit the city. Apart from its religious side, it's a city with a lot to offer in terms of modern living and heritage. It is the most eventful city of Israel with the largest number of museums and cultural institutions.
4. Desert Adventure
5. tel aviv – a non-stop city, 6. the dead sea.
If you have ever seen pictures of people floating in the sea instead of swimming in it and you wonder if it is real, then you should visit the Dead Sea. It is an unreal experience. The Dead Sea is 1,300 feet below sea level, which makes it the lowest point on earth. The water is so salty that it is literally impossible to sink.
The mud here is considered a beauty product and sold around the globe. It is rich in minerals and has therapeutic properties. The mud baths are supposed to do wonders for your skin and heal many ailments. The Dead Sea is well worth a full day visit, but we need to plan it to avoid traffic and crowds.
7. Jesus walked here
8. 100% safe.

Are there opportunities for spiritual enrichment and worship during the tours?
Yes, there will be opportunities for spiritual enrichment and worship during our Christian tours. You’ll get to visit and learn about sites that played a key role in the stories of the Bible and Christian history. These experiences also give you a chance to learn more about the world and the different cultures that have shaped it.
What type of accommodations can I expect during the tours?
Most of the tours we offer are all-inclusive, which means airfare, lodging, and most meals are included in the price of your tour. This includes everything from Ireland tours to cruises and tours of Alaska. You can find individual itineraries and tour details for each of our tour packages on our website, and you can contact us if you have any questions.
What safety measures are in place for travelers?
We can’t guarantee your safety, but we do take traveler safety seriously. Safety is a top priority with all of our Christian travel groups. We work with destination management companies who prioritize/commit to safety, and we’ve built strong relationships that allow us to provide an incredible experience whether you book one of our Europe or U.S. tours .
Are meals provided during the tours? Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
We provide meals and other accommodations during most of our tours, but you should check the details on our website before booking your tour. Hotels may also provide various options that can accommodate different types of diets, allergies, and other restrictions.
Can I customize my tour itinerary to include specific religious sites or activities?
We offer several Christian tours, so you can choose the tour that piques your interest. Some of our tours — including Italy and Greece tours and cruises —include optional activities and visits to religious sites. You can decide which sites you want to visit and spend your time relaxing on the shore or cruise ship when you’re not busy sightseeing. We do offer pre-nights or post-nights before and after our tours for those that want to take some time to rest, relax or get caught up on jet lag.
What is the group size for these tours?
Group sizes are typically between 25 and 35 people, although group sizes can vary. Some tour groups may be as large as 40–45 people, but it depends on the tour and the group leader. We try to maintain reasonably sized tour groups for our Christian vacations.
How far in advance should I book my Christian tour?
The sooner you book, the better. Our tour groups can fill up fast, but we do our best to give everyone a chance to visit other countries and learn about early Christian history throughout the world. Many of our tours offer an early reservation discount if you sign up for a tour 6+ months in advance. Keep in mind that you’ll also need to have a valid passport — and visa if required — before departing.
Do I need travel insurance for these Christian tours? Is it included in the package?
We strongly recommend purchasing a travel insurance plan — whether you’re booking one of our Christian Alaska cruises or a trip to Europe. Travel insurance charges can be added to your final bill, but they’re not included in your tour package. We can provide a total approximate cost for travel insurance when you book your tour.
Are there any extra fees or expenses not included in the tour package?
We do our best to offer tour pricing that includes as much as possible. You’ll need to pay a $300 (USD) deposit per person to book one of our Christian tours, $100 of which is non-refundable at time of deposit. However, most of our Christian travel packages include lodging, food, and all the other accommodations you’ll need during your trip. From Costa Rica tours to Alaska cruises, we offer a luxurious and enriching experience.
What is the cancellation policy for these tours?
You must notify Pilgrim Tours of your cancellation 91+ days before your departure date for a refund of your deposit minus service fees. Canceling on shorter notice will result in a smaller refund, and you won’t receive any refund if you notify us of your cancellation 7 days or fewer before your departure.
Can I extend my stay at any of the destinations beyond the tour dates?
Our Christian tours follow a specific itinerary, so you’ll need to stick with the tour group throughout the tour. During some of our tours, we’ll even travel to different countries and meet new tour guides throughout the trip. Travelers do have the option to book extra hotel nights either before the tour or after the tour.
Do you provide transportation between destinations?
We provide transportation for all of our Christian tours, from US to Germany tours . While transportation costs are included in the price of your tour, tips to guides and drivers aren’t covered.
What should I pack for the tour? Are there any specific clothing or items recommended?
You should pack appropriate clothing for the destination you’re visiting. Consider the culture you’re immersing yourself in and dress modestly according to cultural norms. You should also pack a phone charger, personal care products, medicine, and anything else you typically bring on a vacation.

At Columbia, Pro-Israel Crowd Yells ‘Go Back To Gaza!’ At Pro-Palestinian Students
Senior Reporter, HuffPost
NEW YORK — A crowd of pro-Israel protesters gathered just outside the Columbia University campus on Thursday evening, chanting through the gates at a group of pro-Palestinian students inside to “go to Gaza!”
“Go home, terrorists!” the pro-Israel crowd screamed at the students. “Go back to Gaza!” they yelled. “Stop wasting mommy and daddy’s money!” one man said through a megaphone. “You want to camp? Go camp in Gaza!” said another man, referring to the Palestinian territory where Israel’s siege has killed some 33,000 people, and where this week local health officials said medics had discovered mass graves at hospitals raided by Israeli troops.
The White House — which under President Joe Biden has continued to send aid and weapons to Israel months after the International Court of Justice ruled that Palestinians in Gaza were at risk of experiencing a genocide — responded to HuffPost’s video of the incident in a statement Friday.
“Every American is an American, full stop,” deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said. “It is bigoted and outrageous to suggest that anyone should ‘go back’ anywhere. These kinds of statements degrade all of us, whether it’s telling someone to ‘go back’ to Gaza, or telling someone to ‘go back’ to Belarus and Poland, which was captured in other videos yesterday — countries where Jews were victims of the Holocaust and pogroms. President Biden stands against hateful rhetoric, and believes we must constantly respect the dignity of all people, regardless of disagreements about policy.”
Here’s another video where you can more clearly hear the pro-Israel crowd chanting “go to Gaza” at Columbia students through the gate https://t.co/3tYRP4XGGU pic.twitter.com/uDcSzcNWiH — Christopher Mathias (@letsgomathias) April 26, 2024
The pro-Israel demonstration Thursday was helmed by a group of far-right Christian nationalist figures. Sean Feucht, the prominent MAGA pastor and musician , was the main organizer of the “Unite for Israel” rally. Feucht is closely tied to a slew of prominent Republican lawmakers, once bestowing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with a “Defending Freedom” award at a Miami “Let Us Worship” event, meeting with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Capitol Hill, and praying over former President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. He has appeared multiple times on Fox News, is a regular on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, and is close with Jack Posobiec, the far-right influencer who has a history of making antisemitic remarks.
Ahead of the rally Feucht said in a livestreamed video that the “rise” in antisemitism on college campuses was another welcome harbinger of the end days. Many American evangelicals, like Feucht, see the return of Jews to Israel as key to an End Times prophecy that would usher in the Second Coming of Christ and commence true Christians’ ascent to heaven. These evangelicals believe at that moment Jews will have to convert to Christianity or perish — a belief grounded in antisemitism.
Members of the group screamed at the students from beneath a giant Israeli flag they’d fastened to the top of the tall black gate at the school’s Amsterdam Avenue entrance. A phalanx of NYPD cops stood behind them. The scene was the culmination of a tumultuous week at the Ivy League university, where on Apr. 17 pro-Palestinian students formed an encampment on Columbia’s West Lawn, setting up tents in a “Liberated Zone” to occupy the space. The students want the university to agree to divest from companies they say are profiting from Israel’s war, its illegal occupation of Palestinian land, and a social system the students argue amounts to apartheid.
Last week Columbia’s president, Minouche Shafik, took the shocking step of summoning the New York Police Department to quash the encampment, with cops removing the tents and arresting over 100 students. The university suspended some students and evicted them from campus housing. But the encampment returned shortly thereafter, inspiring dozens of other pro-Palestinian occupations at universities across the country.
Earlier this week a handful of videos posted to social media showed protesters, who were not Columbia students, making antisemitic remarks just outside the campus. In one especially egregious incident, a viral video showed a man yelling, “Go back to Belarus! Go back to Poland!” at a group of pro-Israel protesters.
Columbia’s pro-Palestinian encampment quickly became a lightning rod for accusations of antisemitism, with right-wing politicians and media figures falsely equating the students’ criticism of Israel with hatred for Jews. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) even held a press conference on campus Wednesday, calling on Biden to take action, and suggesting the president may need to summon the National Guard to end the encampment.
Earlier this week Bates, the White House deputy press secretary, issued a statement responding to the Columbia pro-Palestinian demonstration. “While every American has the right to peaceful protest, calls for violence and physical intimidation targeting Jewish students and the Jewish community are blatantly Antisemitic, unconscionable, and dangerous,” he said.
Sean Feucht, the Christian nationalist preacher and organizer of this rally. This week he talked about abt how what’s happening at Columbia is a sign of End Times. Just asked him what happens to Jews during the End Times, & whether they’d have to convert. He refused to answer. pic.twitter.com/OBZj8FLWIQ — Christopher Mathias (@letsgomathias) April 25, 2024
When HuffPost approached Feucht at the start of Thursday’s rally, twice asking him about what happens to Jews during the End Times, he refused to answer. “What I’m speaking about is tonight, why we’re here tonight,” he said. “Our heart is to bless the Jewish students, to worship and to pray.”
After singing songs on his guitar, Feucht led a crowd of some 100 people in a march around the campus. Many carried Israeli and American flags as they all chanted “Bring them home!” — referring to over 100 hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7, when the militant Palestinian group based in Gaza breached the fences surrounding the territory. At least 1,200 Israelis were killed during the attack.
There were intermittent clashes with lone pro-Palestinian protesters during the march. A man carrying an Israeli flag swung his flagpole at one pro-Palestinian protester wearing a keffiyeh, while another pro-Israel protester attempted to rip the Palestinian flag from his hands.
At another point HuffPost witnessed a pro-Israel protester tell a man wearing a keffiyeh who was not white: “I look forward to you delivering me my food on DoorDash.” (In New York, food delivery drivers are predominantly Latino and south Asian immigrants.) Afterwards, according to tweets from other reporters on the scene, the man in the keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian headscarf, grabbed on to a long metal pole, which he then put down but attempted to pick up again before a pro-Israel demonstrator intervened. The pro-Israel crowd then summoned the NYPD to arrest him. The NYPD obliged. (An NYPD spokesperson told HuffPost a 35-year-old man from Brooklyn was arrested on charges of menacing and harassment. Two other people were arrested during the demonstration for disorderly conduct, though the circumstances of their arrests weren’t immediately clear.)
As Feucht’s march circled the campus, he and a couple of other Christian nationalist influencers — including Russell Johnson and Eric Metaxas — led the crowd in chants of “our God reigns!”
They marched past a small counter-demonstration made up of pro-Palestinian Christians singing “This Little Light of Mine.” Standing behind police barricades, these Christians held signs reading “Not In Jesus’ Name! Ceasefire Now In Gaza” and “It Should Be Easy As A Christian To Oppose Genocide” as Feucht marched by.

Eventually Feucht led the march to the Columbia gates on Amsterdam Avenue, where a larger crowd of pro-Israel demonstrators not affiliated with Feucht’s group had gathered. The NYPD threatened over a loudspeaker to arrest the demonstrators for “obstructing pedestrian traffic” if they didn’t clear the sidewalk outside the gate, but police eventually allowed the demonstration to carry on.
Johnson, Feucht’s colleague and fellow far-right pastor, held up a sign for everyone to see. “HAMAS UNIVERSITIES,” the sign read, above a drawing of a Nazi swastika drawn over with the names of schools where other pro-Palestinian demonstrations have taken place, including New York University, Harvard, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania.
A short time later Johnson climbed the gate, while waving a half-Israel, half-U.S. flag, staring down at a small group of pro-Palestinian students inside the campus below.
One pro-Israel protester from Brooklyn, 47-year-old Ayton Eller, held a sign calling for a boycott of “Columbia Hamas University.” When HuffPost asked Eller what he thought of the Jewish Columbia students taking part in the pro-Palestinian encampment, he called them “traitors” and “self-hating Jews.”
Feucht led the crowd in screaming while a pro-Israel protester blew through a shofar — a rams-horn trumpet traditionally used by Jews in religious ceremonies that in recent years has been appropriated by Christian nationalists as a battle cry, and a way of commencing “spiritual warfare.” (Shofars were a common sight during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.)
Feucht eventually helped lead the crowd in the singing of the Israeli national anthem and the American national anthem, before ending the rally and leaving. But a large contingent of angry pro-Israel demonstrators remained at the gates, yelling at pro-Palestinian students inside the campus to “go to Gaza!”
A short walk away inside the campus, students at the pro-Palestinian encampment gathered quietly in a circle to hold a meeting. They stood in the middle of the tents, the grass littered with signs with slogans like “JEWS AGAINST GENOCIDE,” and discussed providing “jail support” to each other in the event they were to be arrested again.
That day they’d watched videos of some 200 students at campuses across the country — in Boston, Austin, Los Angeles, Atlanta and elsewhere — being arrested at their own encampments.
Shafik, Columbia’s president, had set a deadline for Friday morning for the pro-Palestinian demonstrators to reach an agreement with the school to clear the encampment. That deadline has passed, and according to students, negotiations with the school are ongoing.

Christian leaders criticize tucker carlson's interview with munther isaac: 'no mention of hamas'.
Faith leaders have pushed back against anti-Israel rhetoric promoted by Munther Isaac, the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, in a recent Tucker Carlson interview and challenged Western Christians to educate themselves on the history of the Israel-Palestinian conflict to avoid falling for “propaganda.”
“I am really confused by Tucker Carlson's recent behavior, honestly,” Israel’s former Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism and Delegitimization, Noa Tishby, told The Christian Post.
“He has made a turn to conspiratorial, not to mention woke, pro-Hamas, antisemite ideology when he gave a platform to Munther Isaac … it’s very easy to blame the Jews, and much of what Isaac's doing right now is blaming the Jews.”

Carlson sparked debate after publishing a lengthy interview with Isaac — a Palestinian pastor who has been accused of being sympathetic to Hamas and the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in which an estimated 1,163 people were slaughtered, including at least 31 Americans — on the topic of “How does the government of Israel treat Christians?”
"A consistent but almost never noted theme of American foreign policy is that it is always the Christians who suffer," Carlson said . "When there's a war abroad that the United States is funding, it is Christians who tend to die disproportionately."
"But what about Gaza? What about the entire region in the Middle East, where, of course, there's very intense fighting going on? Many Christian churches in the United States, particularly Evangelical churches, support that.
"But there is virtually never a word about the Christians who live there, the ancient Christian community in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel proper. So, because no one has said a word, there has been great suffering among the Christian population in that region."
Weighing in on the issue, Isaac said Palestinian Christians have often been neglected by the global Church and asserted that the conflict in Gaza is an extension of colonialism. He also criticized the international community's lack of response to what he described as ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Asserting that Palestinian Christians "are probably disproportionately affected” by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war “because of our small numbers as a religious community,” Isaac criticized what he dubbed the "so-called religious right," from whom "we receive nothing, no sympathy whatsoever.”
“Sometimes we just plea to be heard and have our perspective taken seriously. And one of the things I'm often stuck with, whether when I speak to diplomats, politicians, congress[ional] staff or even influential pastors, is how little they know about the reality on the ground,” he said.
"Their knowledge of the situation here seems to be very, very shallow," he added. "Yet they hold very strong opinions. And oftentimes, these opinions are shaped by political parties' positions, the United States' position."
Tishby, who served in the Israeli army and authored Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth , hit back at Isaac’s claims that Israel is unfriendly to Christians, emphasizing that Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the Christian population is growing.
"Israel allows for freedom of religion," she stressed, noting that no other Middle Eastern country provides similar protections.
Tishby highlighted that the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel were carried out by a "radical jihadi death cult” designated as a terrorist organization by many countries, including the United States and the European Union, due to its violent actions and targeting of civilians.
She rejected Isaac’s allegations that Israel bombs Christians in Gaza or represses them in the West Bank, clarifying that Israel's military actions target a jihadi terrorist organization that poses a threat to both Jews and Christians.
“Israel doesn't go into Gaza and bomb Christians; Israel goes into Gaza to chase out Hamas. … There is no other side to radical jihadism," she said, emphasizing that the conflict isn't between religions but between a terrorist group and a democratic state.
“We're dealing right now with a culture that is preaching for Holy War, to the death. That is what it is that we're dealing with here. And when they breached the borders and entered Israel, their intention was to slaughter as many Jews as possible, to genocide the Jews basically, and to die themselves. There is nothing to support about that.”
In a lengthy response to Carlson's interview posted on YouTube, Luke Moon, deputy director of the Philos Project and leader of Philos Action League, said that with the exception of Israel, "nowhere else in the Middle East has seen Christian church growth."
"Not the historic church," he said. "Now, you have places like Iran where, through evangelism, there's a growing church, but it was because it was at zero, right ... there are more Iraqi Christians in the suburbs of Chicago that are left in Iraq."
Moon, who mobilizes Christians to fight antisemitism, also took issue with the fact that throughout the interview, Isaac "never mentions Hamas" and accused Isaac of "taking advantage of Tucker's ignorance."
"That's one of the words you don't use in this whole interview, you don't say 'Hamas' anywhere," he said. "It's like, 'Israel's just out there shooting people.' It's weird. At least acknowledge the evil being done in Gaza. ... All the blame needs to go to Hamas, and Tucker and Munther need to acknowledge that."
Dr. Richard Land, a former member of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (2001-2012) and executive editor of The Christian Post, challenged Western Christians to examine the context and background of the Israel-Palestinian conflict when examining the ongoing strife.
“You would think that someone of Tucker's background and education, you'd think he would be far more skeptical of Munther Isaac,” he said. “Anyone who is even remotely aware of the history of the Holy Land from the beginning of the 20th century until now would know that Isaac’s narrative was skewed, unbalanced and unfair. The only proper word for it is ‘propaganda.’”
Land pointed out that in 1948, after the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish a Jewish state in Palestine, Israel declared its independence. Within 24 hours, it was attacked by five Arab armies, marking the beginning of multiple wars and conflicts. It was this aggression, he said, that led to the Palestinian refugee crisis.
"Arab governments told their people to leave [Jewish-majority areas] so they wouldn't be in the way as the armies came in to eradicate the Jewish state. Unfortunately for them, the Jews won,” he said.
In 1948, Palestinians had a significant Christian population, but this has decreased over time due to various factors, including the Intifada and discrimination against Christians by Palestinian, and not Jewish, authorities, Land said.
"In 1948, the Christian population among the Palestinian Arabs was significant due in large part to persistent and ongoing missionary efforts by American and British Evangelical Christians, including establishing hospitals and children's homes.
"A large number of Palestinian Christians have left the West Bank and Gaza as a result of having faced severe discrimination from Hamas and the People's Liberation Army, including having to pay a special tax because they would not participate in the terrorist intifada against Israel."
Land, who has visited the Holy Land at least a dozen times, acknowledged Israel's imperfections but stressed Israel's need to defend itself from genocidal terrorist groups like Hamas, citing the organization's commitment to a Jew-free Israel, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
"Israel keeps trying to make peace with a population that refuses to make peace," he said. "Israel's dilemma is that they live next door to and in the midst of people who have been seduced by a terrorist death-cult."
He added that over the years, Israel has attempted to make peace with the Palestinians multiple times, offering self-rule in the Gaza Strip and West Bank (in the last agreement, the Israeli government even forcibly removed Israeli settlements from the Gaza Strip and turned the land back over to Palestinian control).
However, peace treaties were rejected, leading to ongoing conflict and mistrust. Despite these challenges, Israel continues to seek peaceful solutions while protecting its citizens.
“If the Palestinians wanted peace as much as Israel,” he stressed, "they would be at peace."
Tishby also addressed the broader issue of antisemitism, noting that it often takes different forms over time. She warned that Isaac — and Carlson, by extension — promoted antisemitic narratives by blaming Israel for broader issues in the Middle East and cautioned against simplistic narratives that demonize Israel.
"Antisemitism is the oldest form of hate and discrimination," she explained. She urged Christians to recognize the historical roots of antisemitism and avoid promoting anti-Zionist rhetoric.
“Tucker Carlson is allowing these conversations to permeate,” she said. “Israel has the right to exist. The Jewish state has the right to exist. It's prophesied and human rights. So whether you're a religious person or a secular person, the Jewish people deserve the right for self-governance and self-determination.”
In an earlier interview with CP , Jack Graham, senior pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, said Christians should love and support Israel because God chose the Jewish people as His special nation.
He clarified that this support does not mean endorsing every political action taken by Israel's government, but it involves recognizing their right to exist and opposing antisemitism.
“What you have now is this movement of genocide and antisemitism that's rising, not only in the Middle East but in Europe and in America,” he said. “We must stand against that hatred. … Wherever you may stand on the political side of Arabs and Jews, everyone can stand against terrorism.”
Graham warned that the threat is not limited to Israel; terrorists could target anyone who opposes them, even the U.S.
“Terrorists, once they get done with Israel, if they can, they're coming for us next. They're coming for anyone who opposes them. It doesn't end in Israel … the geopolitical system of the world hinges on the Middle East and the little nation of Israel.
… I believe the hatred [of Israel] is because God loves the Jewish people, and Satan hates everything and everyone that God loves. And so, ultimately, this is spiritual warfare. And we must continue to therefore battle with the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus and love our Jewish neighbors.”

Blinken says the U.S. could take action if Israel fails to hold its troops accountable.
The Biden administration, which has been under pressure for its support of Israel’s war in Gaza, will not withhold military aid from a troubled military unit accused of human rights violations in the West Bank, so long as Israel continues with steps to hold the members of the unit accountable.
In an undated letter, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken told the House speaker, Mike Johnson, that the United States was working with Israel to address charges against the unit, the Netzah Yehuda battalion. Though the letter did not mention the battalion’s name, a U.S. official confirmed that Mr. Blinken was referring to Netzah Yehuda, which has been investigated for crimes in the West Bank predating the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack that set off the war in Gaza.
The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss delicate diplomacy, said that the Biden administration could still take action against Netzah Yehuda if it concludes that Israel has not taken sufficient steps to hold its members to account.
The letter, obtained by The New York Times, said the State Department had determined that Netzah Yehuda had committed “gross human rights violations” against Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
U.S. officials had reached similar findings about two other Israeli military units and two civilian units, the letter said, but in those cases the Biden administration had decided not to withhold military aid because Israel was already acting to “bring to justice” culpable service members.
Mr. Blinken assured Mr. Johnson in the letter, reported earlier by ABC News , that the United States “will not delay the delivery of any U.S. assistance, and Israel will be able to receive the full amount appropriated by Congress.”
Under federal statutes commonly known as the Leahy law , the U.S. government must deny aid to foreign military units found to have committed gross violations of human rights without accountability. The law allows for the targeting of individual units without cutting off entire foreign militaries.
It was not clear what practical effect any such move might have, given that funding of specific Israeli units is hard to track, and it is unclear whether the units mentioned in the letter receive American training or equipment.
Still, the news last week that U.S. officials were considering withholding aid from Israeli military units for abuses prompted a furious response from Israel and from Mr. Johnson, a strong supporter of the current Israeli government. Mr. Johnson said this week that he had called the White House in protest and had received an assurance in writing that none of the billions in additional U.S. aid to Israel approved by Congress this week would be affected.
The Biden administration has faced growing calls to restrict American aid to Israel over its military offensive in Gaza in response to the Hamas-led attacks in October. President Biden so far has declined to place conditions on U.S. aid over Israel’s devastating tactics in the Gaza war, though he has taken several steps in response to violence by Israelis in the West Bank, including placing sanctions against several Israeli settlers for what the U.S. has called “extremist” acts of violence against Palestinians.
In his letter to the Republican House speaker, Mr. Blinken said that two Israeli battalions and “civilian authority units,” none of which he named, had committed human rights abuses but that he had “determined that the Israeli government has conducted effective remediation of the units involved.” He defined remediation as a process in which a foreign government takes “effective steps to bring to justice the responsible members of the unit.”
In the case of Netzah Yehuda, which he did not cite by name, he said that “there has not been effective remediation to date” but that the Israeli government “has presented new information regarding the status of the unit, and we will engage on identifying a path to effective remediation for this unit.”
Mr. Blinken is planning to travel to Israel next week for meetings with Israeli leaders to discuss efforts to free hostages from Gaza and an impending Israeli military operation in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, an Israeli official said on Friday. It was not immediately clear whether he would discuss Netzah Yehuda. Mr. Blinken has discussed the matter by phone with senior Israeli officials in recent days.
Under the terms of a 10-year security agreement that the United States and Israel reached in 2016, the United States must consult with Israeli officials before placing restrictions on security assistance. That consultation is ongoing, according to the U.S. official.
Netzah Yehuda, which was created to accommodate the religious practices of Israel’s ultra-Orthodox community, has been repeatedly accused of mistreating Palestinians.
In January 2022, according to witnesses, its soldiers bound and gagged a 78-year-old Palestinian American who died of a heart attack while in military custody. An investigation concluded that the two soldiers who bound the man thought he was sleeping. The soldiers faced disciplinary action but no criminal charges were brought.
The unit was transferred in 2022 from the West Bank to the Golan Heights in northern Israel, according to Mr. Blinken’s letter.
Mr. Blinken added that no other Israeli units had been found culpable of rights violations under the Leahy Law and that the administration’s deliberations “will have no impact on our support for Israel’s ability to defend itself against Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah or other threats.”

Blinken will make another wartime trip to Israel.
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will visit Israel next week, an Israeli official said on Friday, as talks on a cease-fire deal that would allow for the release of hostages held in Gaza appear stalled and tensions have risen between Israel and the United States over the war.
The Israeli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of lack of authorization to speak publicly on the matter, said talks with Mr. Blinken would center on hostages and an impending Israeli military operation in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
Mr. Blinken last visited Israel in March, when he warned that its plans to invade Rafah , where more than a million displaced people are sheltering, would pose severe risks to civilians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to press ahead with those plans, saying that such an operation is necessary to eliminate Hamas battalions in the city.
Still, the Biden administration has stuck by Israel as mediators have failed to broker even a temporary cease-fire in Gaza that would give Palestinians some respite and allow for the release of hostages abducted in the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel .
The United States has proposed a deal through Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries in which Hamas would release 40 of the most vulnerable hostages in exchange for a six-week truce and the release of hundreds of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. A senior Biden administration official who briefed reporters on Thursday on condition of anonymity under official ground rules put the blame solely on Hamas for blocking the deal.
The official said that while Israel had signaled it would accept those terms, the response from Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader hiding underground in Gaza, had been “totally nonconstructive.” Hamas has since signaled that it is not completely rejecting the deal and is willing to sit down again, the official said, adding that the United States and its partners would test that in coming days.
President Biden and the leaders of 17 other nations called on Hamas on Thursday to release all the hostages in a joint statement that appeared intended to send the message that the world is not entirely against Israel and that Hamas is the main impediment to ending the war.

Israel fires into Lebanon after a deadly Hezbollah missile strike.
An Israeli man was killed in an anti-tank missile attack from Lebanon, the Israeli military said on Friday, the latest in a growing string of civilian casualties on both sides of Israel’s northern border as tit-for-tat strikes intensify with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah .
The Israeli military said in a statement that the man had been carrying out “infrastructure work” when two anti-tank missiles were fired late Thursday into the area of Har Dov in northern Israel, a disputed sliver of land where Israel, Lebanon and Syria meet. Also known as the Shebaa Farms, the area is claimed by Lebanon but occupied by Israel, and has long been a crucible for violence.
Hezbollah, Iran’s most powerful regional proxy , described the overnight attack as an “ambush,” claiming that two vehicles had been destroyed in a combined missile, artillery and rocket assault on an Israeli military base in the area. The Israeli military statement did not say whether a base had been hit.
Kan, Israel’s public broadcaster, identified the man killed as Sharif Suwayed, 35, and said that his truck had been hit while he was working to improve defenses at a military base, modifications that were being carried out at night to protect against Hezbollah attacks. The Israeli military was investigating, the broadcaster reported.
Israeli forces responded by striking Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon, among them a weapon storage facility and military compound, according to a military statement. Lebanese state media reported on Friday that multiple towns had been targeted by heavy Israeli bombardment, damaging dozens of houses. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The fighting between Hezbollah and Israel, the heaviest between the sides in nearly two decades, has shown no sign of subsiding. Israeli strikes inside Lebanon have begun to creep deeper into the country’s interior, though the hostilities for now have been confined largely to areas along the Israeli-Lebanese border.
In Israel, 19 soldiers and civilians have been killed in the recent violence, which began after Hezbollah launched rockets into northern Israel in support of the deadly Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7.
More than 70 civilians have been killed in Lebanon, along with roughly 270 Hezbollah fighters, the group has said, a figure that exceeds its losses in the 2006 war with Israel .
Yoav Gallant, Israel’s defense minister, said this week that its strikes had eliminated half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Lebanon, although experts expressed skepticism about that claim . They also have cast doubt on whether targeted killings of commanders could achieve Israel’s goal of pushing Hezbollah farther from the border, reducing the threat of attacks and allowing the tens of thousands of Israeli civilians displaced by the fighting to return to their homes.

A baby born in Gaza after her mother was killed in an Israeli strike dies less than a week later.
A baby who was delivered through an emergency cesarean section after her mother was killed in an Israeli strike died on Thursday, a relative said, less than a week after news of her birth brought a glimmer of hope to war-torn Gaza.
The baby, who was born prematurely after a strike in southern Gaza that also killed her father and sister, suffered respiratory problems, and doctors were unable to save her, said her uncle, Rami al-Sheikh.
“I buried her in her father’s grave,” he said in a phone interview on Friday.
The mother, Sabreen al-Sakani, was killed along with her husband, Shukri, and their 3-year-old daughter, Malak, when an Israeli strike hit their home in the city of Rafah shortly before midnight last Saturday. Rescue crews took the bodies to the Emirati Hospital in Rafah, where doctors performed a cesarean section on Ms. al-Sakani, who was 30 weeks pregnant.
The girls’ uncle said that Malak had wanted to name her little sister Rouh, the Arabic word for soul. The extended family decided instead to name her after her mother, Sabreen.
Sabreen weighed just three pounds at birth, said Dr. Mohammed Salama, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at Emirati Hospital. Her birth was captured on video by a journalist from the Reuters news agency, who filmed doctors providing artificial respiration to her after she emerged, pale and limp, from her mother.
Instead of a name, doctors initially wrote, “The baby of the martyr Sabreen al-Sakani” on a piece of tape across her chest.
“The baby was delivered into a tragic situation,” Dr. Salama told Reuters, adding, “Even if this baby survives, she was born an orphan.”

Drone attack kills 4 workers in an Iraqi gas field, but no one claims responsibility.
A drone attack on a large gas field in Iraq’s Kurdistan region killed four workers and plunged much of eastern Kurdistan into darkness because it relies on gas to fuel its electrical plants, according to a Kurdistan regional government spokesman.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. While Iranian-backed armed groups have bases in the area, there are many competing interests in Kurdistan, leaving it unclear whether the attacks are part of the larger regional fight between Iran and Israel, which has intensified during the war in Gaza.
The Kurdistan region’s president, Nechirvan Barzani, condemned the attack and called on the government in Baghdad to investigate. “These attacks endanger the peace and stability of the country,” Mr. Barzani said, adding, “The representatives of the Iraqi federal government must do their duty to prevent these attacks and find the perpetrators from any side and punish them according to the law.”
Iraq’s joint command in Baghdad issued a statement calling the attack “sabotage,” confirming that a drone was used. The statement said Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al Sudani had ordered an investigation.
Friday’s drone attack was the second so far this year on the Khor Mor field in Sulaymaniyah Province. The last one, in January, did not inflict casualties.
“Four Yemeni workers have been killed, and the field has been severely damaged, which will cause electricity shortages,” said Peshawa Hawramani, a spokesman for the Kurdistan regional government.
Almost a million people in Sulaymaniyah Province were left without power, along with thousands more in adjacent provinces. It took about 24 hours to restore electricity after the last attack, but because the damage was greater this time, Kurdish authorities said it could take longer. While hospitals and security services have large generators, many ordinary residents have access only to limited power from shared generators.
Claims of responsibility were never made for previous attacks on the gas field, which is operated by Dana Gas, based in the United Arab Emirates, and a related company, Crescent Petroleum.
While the drone attack could stem from the regional conflict between Iran and Israel, there are other tensions in the region — between internal Iraqi factions and between Baghdad and Kurdistan. There has been a multiyear effort by the Iraqi federal government in Baghdad and the courts to reduce the Kurdistan region’s control over its natural resources.
At the same time, there is tension between Iran and Iraq over any efforts by Iraq to expand domestic gas production. Iran sells about $4 billion of gas to Iraq each year because Iraq does not have enough gas to fuel its electricity plants. Kurdistan and the Iraqi government had been discussing expansion of the Khor Mor field.

Rabbis are arrested near the Gaza-Israel border at a rally to highlight starvation.
Police arrest group of rabbis and activists near gaza, the israeli police arrested rabbis and peace activists near the border with gaza..
[singing] You can arrest us, but we’re going to walk slowly, our way towards the crossing.
Seven rabbis and peace activists were arrested on Friday near the border with Gaza after they tried to take food supplies into the territory, according to two participants and the campaign group that organized the effort.
The detainees were among a group of roughly 30 rabbis and activists from Israel and the United States who were stopped by police officers as they tried to reach the Erez crossing, a major transit point between Israel and northern Gaza.
Organized by Rabbis for Ceasefire, a peace movement based in the United States, the effort was intended to build support for a truce and to highlight rising reports of starvation in Gaza . A global authority on food security, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification initiative, has predicted an imminent famine in northern Gaza, the area of the territory closest to Erez.
The protest was timed to coincide with the week of Passover , a Jewish festival that celebrates the biblical story of the liberation of Jews from slavery in ancient Egypt.
“We were making the point that Jewish liberation is bound up with Palestinian liberation, that we want freedom for all,” said Toba Spitzer, a rabbi from Boston who attended the protest but was not arrested.
The group had tried to drive into Gaza with a pickup truck carrying half a ton of rice and flour but was stopped roughly a third of a mile from the border, Rabbi Spitzer said. The effort was largely symbolic and the organizers expected it to fail given the restrictions along the border; the supplies will now be donated to needy Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Rabbi Spitzer said.
The Israeli police did not respond to requests for comment.
The author Ayelet Waldman of Berkeley, Calif., was among those arrested, her husband, the author Michael Chabon, said on Instagram .
There are widespread food shortages in Gaza. Israeli restrictions on where convoys can enter the strip, Israeli bombardment and widespread damage to roads, the collapse of Gazan agriculture, and a breakdown in law and order have all made it harder to distribute aid safely.
Aid groups and United Nations officials have accused Israel of systematically limiting aid delivery. Israel denies the assertion, blaming the shortages on logistical failures by aid groups, and has recently increased the number of trucks entering the strip.
Israeli officials say that the Erez crossing, which was primarily used for pedestrian traffic before the war, is difficult to use for aid delivery because it lacks the right infrastructure and was also badly damaged during the Hamas-led raid on Israel in October.
A majority of Jewish Israelis oppose the delivery of more aid to Gaza, according to a poll conducted in February by the Israel Democracy Institute, a Jerusalem-based research group.
Israeli protesters regularly gather at another crossing point farther south, trying to block aid convoys entering Gaza .

The U.S. Army has begun work on a floating pier to move aid from ships into Gaza, the Pentagon says.
Army engineers on Thursday began construction of a floating pier and causeway for humanitarian aid off the coast of Gaza, which, when completed, could help relief workers deliver as many as two million meals a day for the enclave’s residents, Defense Department officials said.
The construction on the “initial stages of the temporary pier and causeway at sea” means that the project’s timing is in line with what Pentagon officials had predicted, Maj. Gen. Patrick S. Ryder, the Defense Department’s press secretary, said. The construction is meant to allow humanitarian aid to bypass Israeli restrictions on land convoys into the besieged strip.
General Ryder said that defense officials expected the project, ordered up by President Biden early last month, to be completed early next month. The facility is meant to include an offshore platform to transfer aid from ships, and a floating pier to bring the aid to shore.
Aid organizations have welcomed the plan, which will be an addition to the airdrops of humanitarian supplies that the U.S. military has been conducting over Gaza. But aid workers say, and defense officials have acknowledged, that the maritime project is not an adequate substitute for land convoys. Such aid convoys fell sharply when the war began more than six months ago and have only partly recovered .
Some U.S. military officials have also privately expressed security concerns about the project, and General Ryder said that the military was looking into a mortar attack on Wednesday that caused minimal damage in the area where some pier work is supposed to be done. However, he said, U.S. forces had not started moving anything into the area at the time of the mortar attacks.
The floating pier is being built alongside an Army ship off the Gaza coast. Army ships are large, lumbering vessels, so they have armed escorts, particularly as they get within range of Gaza’s coast, defense officials have said.
The United Nations says famine is likely to set in within Gaza by the end of May.
Aid workers have described bottlenecks for aid at border crossings because of lengthy inspections of trucks, limited crossing hours and protests by Israelis, and they have highlighted the difficulty of distributing aid inside Gaza. Israeli officials have denied that they are hampering the flow of aid, saying the United Nations and aid groups are responsible for any backlogs.
Senior Biden administration and military officials detailed a complex plan in a Pentagon call with reporters on Thursday afternoon, explaining how the pier and causeway are being put together, and how it is supposed to work. Army engineers are constructing the facility aboard Navy ships in the eastern Mediterranean. One official said that the “at-sea assembly of key pieces” of the pier began on Thursday.
Biden officials are insistent that the Pentagon can carry out aid deliveries through the floating pier without putting American boots on the ground in Gaza. Officials described a complicated shuttle system, through which aid would be loaded onto Navy ships in Cyprus and transported to a causeway — a floating platform — at sea.
The Pentagon’s military acronym for the project is J-Lots, for Joint Logistics Over the Shore.
The causeway at sea is different from the floating pier where the aid will be offloaded into Gaza. An engineering unit with the Israeli military will anchor the floating pier to the Gaza shore, a senior military official told reporters in the Pentagon call.
Shuttle boats run by aid organizations, the United Nations or other countries are then expected to transport the aid to the floating pier, where it is to be loaded onto trucks driven by “a third party,” the official said. He declined to identify the third party.
The official said that Israel was dedicating a brigade to provide security for the American troops and aid workers working on the pier.
The operation is expected to bring in enough aid for around 90 trucks a day, a number that will increase to 150 trucks a day when the system reaches full operating capacity, the official said.

Turkey and israel led heinemann’s travel shopping surge in 2023.

Istanbul Airport with its luxury shopping (shown here) has become a $1 billion location for Gebr. ... [+] Heinemann and its partners.
Retail joint-venture operations at airports in Turkey and Israel topped $1.1 billion and $500 million respectively last year helping to push one of the world’s biggest duty-free operators to record annual revenue of $3.9 billion (€3.6 billion) in 2023.
Despite some considerable economic and geopolitical challenges, Hamburg-based travel retailer Gebr. Heinemann managed to slightly exceed 2019 sales for the first time since the pandemic, with year-over-year growth of 25%.
The fifth-generation family-owned company is now looking very positively at 2024 after a strong first quarter that was 24% ahead of the same period last year and above budget forecasts. On Thursday, co-CEO Raoul Spanger said that €4 billion was within sight. He told gathered media: “Strategic investments in the group’s business portfolio from 2023 will come into full effect this year (and) turnover should reach a new all-time high in 2024 and exceed €4 billion.”
Those investments included the buyout of its joint venture business in Israel—mainly at Tel Aviv Airport but also some border stores—to take 100% control, and the establishment of a regional office in Dubai from which to spearhead distribution, and eventually store operations, in the Middle East and Africa. One target will likely be Angola's new airport in the capital, Luanda.
The company also won a retail concession for the first time in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport with joint venture partners Jordanian Duty Free Shops and the diversified Astra Group ; and signed the contract for stores aboard Aroya, the first vessel from newly established cruise company Cruise Saudi.

“By entering into carefully selected new partnerships, expanding existing ones, and making strategic investments in other business segments and channels we continue to become more international,” said Heinemann’s other co-CEO Max Heinemann.
JV deals have long been a hallmark of Heinemann’s expansion strategy into new markets. With the global travel retail channel consolidating rapidly, as exemplified most recently by the huge Avolta/Dufry merger with Autogrill, Heinemann is taking steps to protect its market position.

The travel retailer’s business is dominated by Europe with 59% of turnover (€2.1 billion) last year. The region—where the retailer’s top airport locations are Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Oslo, and Vienna—also had the fastest growth (24%), largely on the back of rising passenger numbers.
However, Norway, historically one of Heinemann’s biggest sales hotspots, was negatively impacted by the imposition of much lower limits on tobacco allowances and the devaluation of the Norwegian krone.
Stability in geographical diversity
Geographical diversification offers greater resilience when it comes to country legislative shocks and currency volatility, and also regional impacts. For example, last year, the continuing fighting in Gaza, triggered by a deadly Hamas attack in southern Israel on October 7, came out of the blue and hit travel and retail sales at Tel Aviv Airport in the final quarter.
Heinemann’s sales director for Middle East Africa, Bernard Schlafstein said that it would have been a record year at Tel Aviv had the war not started. Naturally, this impacted the growth for the whole Middle East & Africa business which ended the year up 18%, but would have been higher.
Bernard Schlafstein described the retail performance at Istanbul Airport as “unstoppable.”
On the plus side, the nature of the shopping at Israel's biggest airport means that revenue has picked up quickly. Depressed tourism is not a major factor for store sales as it is outbound Israelis doing most of the buying, and collecting their purchases on return.
That non-reliance on foreign tourism is borne out by results this year. Schlafstein commented: “Our numbers are almost back to last year at around 85% to 90%, even though the passenger figures are much lower.” One key purchase driver is that pricing at the airport is significantly lower than in the domestic market. This has led to very high average transaction values (ATVs) in the core duty-free shop where about 80 pay-points are present to cater to the enormous demand.
However, the standout location was Istanbul Airport where Heinemann operates with its joint venture partners Unifree and ATU Duty Free. There, turnover surpassed €1 billion and Schlafstein described it as “unstoppable.”
With the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, rich Russians have been using the gateway—and also Dubai International (where they are the second most important nationality for Dubai Duty Free)—as a connecting route to other destinations. Their presence meant that last year at Istanbul, 40% of fashion turnover came from Russians. This year, so far, revenue at the Turkish Airlines hub is above budget for Heinemann.
