Coldplay Announce 2023 Tour Dates

By Matthew Strauss

Coldplay

Coldplay have announced 2023 dates on their world tour in support of Music of the Spheres . Next year, the band will perform in Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Find Coldplay’s schedule and a trailer for the tour below.

Coldplay famously declined to tour in support of Everyday Life for environmental reasons. The band has set out to make the Music of the Spheres World Tour more sustainable, with a press releasing touting concerts powered entirely by renewable energy. For example, there have been solar panels and wind turbines at every venue to help power the shows.

Coldplay announce new UK and European shows for 2023

The lengthy ‘music of the spheres’ world tour continues next may.

By Tom Skinner

Coldplay performing live on-stage in 2022

Coldplay have announced three new UK shows for 2023 as part of their extensive ‘Music Of The Spheres’ world tour. Last night (August 21) saw the band wrap up a six-night run of London concerts at Wembley Stadium ahead of two scheduled dates in Glasgow this week (August 23, 24). A series of South American gigs will take place between September 10 and November 8. Today (August 22), it’s been confirmed that Coldplay will head back out on the road for further UK and European shows between May and July, 2023. This additional leg is due to begin in Coimbra, Portugal on May 17. Following a two-night billing in Barcelona, Spain (May 24, 25), Chris Martin and co. will return to these shores to play a pair of concerts at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester (May 31, June 1). They’ll then take to the stage at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on June 6. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time this Thursday (August 25) –  you’ll be able to purchase yours from here .

Coldplay’s 2023 UK tour dates are as follows:

May 2023 31 – Manchester, Etihad Stadium

June 2023 1 – Manchester, Etihad Stadium 6 – Cardiff, Principality Stadium

After those gigs, Coldplay are set to visit Naples, Milan, Zurich, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Amsterdam throughout late June and into July. You can find the group’s full live itinerary for this year and next here . The band have shared an official trailer for their forthcoming UK and European tour – check it out above. This past weekend, Coldplay teamed up with Alan Partridge at their penultimate London concert to cover ABBA ‘s ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’ and Kate Bush ‘s ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)’ . Steve Coogan’s much-loved character donned a jacket emblazoned with  Snow Patrol ‘s band logo. “If you’re running up a hill, make sure you wear the correct footwear. Goodnight!” Partridge said to the Wembley crowd. Other guests to have joined Coldplay on-stage in the capital recently include Craig David ,  Natalie Imbruglia  and All Saints’  Shaznay Lewis . In a four-star review of Coldplay’s latest album, last year’s  Music of the Spheres ,  Rolling Stone UK described the project as “spellbinding” . “It’s the sound of a supremely confident band, so aware their music now matches the euphoria of, say, a stadium triumph that ‘Infinity Sign’ slyly reworks rudimentary football chant “Olé Olé Olé” into something quite beautiful. It shouldn’t work but it does: epitomising Coldplay’s breathless ascent ever higher. It’s just a thrill to be along for the ride.”

As it happened: Coldplay add two more nights to Manchester 2023 shows as thousands buy tickets

You can catch up on our blog below as tickets for Manchester's dates went on sale

  • Updated 15:56, 25 AUG 2022

Chris Martin performs on stage at Wembley Stadium during the 'Music of the Spheres' World Tour

Coldplay fans can buy tickets for their Music of Sphere's World Tour today (August 25). The band have added Manchester and Cardiff to their list of extended tour dates for 2023.

The band will play at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on May 31 June 1, June 3 and June 4, these are the only dates fans in England will be able to catch a glimpse of the 2023 tour. Tickets will go on general sale at 10am and can be brought from Ticketmaster , SeeTickets , or Ticket Factory .

Fans who missed out on tickets for their recent six sell-out shows in Wembley will get the chance to see the band perform live. The tour has been praised for its immersive atmosphere, which includes giving fans wristbands to light-up the stadium during 'A Sky Full of Stars' and 'Yellow'.

And as a world first, the concert is powered by a tourable battery system which means the fans energy is pumped through to help power the staging, sound and lights through kinetic floors and power bikes.

Since kicking off their World Tour earlier this year in South America the band have sold more than one million tickets, which celebrates their 2021 album, 'Music Of The Spheres'.

Follow our blog below for the latest ticket updates as they happen for Coldplay. Comment below too and let us know how you get on with securing your tickets.

That's the end of our live blog, what a crazy day!

For those who missed out on tickets wait to hear from the official resale platforms, as I'm sure there will be some availability.

And well done to everyone who managed to get tickets, can't wait to see these guys in Manchester very soon.

What an amazing way to finish the 2022 European leg of this tour… thank you to the city of Glasgow for two memorable shows. W. X pic.twitter.com/3u75bVNNf9 — Coldplay (@coldplay) August 24, 2022

Still no official word if tickets have sold out

I've checked all the major sites and I can't seem to see any availability for either four dates. This is also probably why there is not a queue on Ticketmaster, I managed to get straight through within a couple of seconds.

The hype has definitely died down and I think an official 'sold out' statement is on its way soon.

Ticket Factory update

It looks like Ticket Factory has sold out. The ticket site is yet to officially announce this but there are currently no tickets showing for any of the UK dates.

There's still over 200,00 people in the queue

245,244 people, to be exact, are still hopefully waiting to buy tickets for Manchester, but availability is low. In fact, many fans are saying the tickets have in-fact sold-out but you can only find that out once you reach the front.

Ticketmaster give update

The rumour that Tickemaster has ran out of tickets looks to be true

This is what their queue currently says: 'We now have an extremely limited number of tickets available for all dates'.

ANOTHER TIP: Your ID must match ticket

We see it time and time again with non-official re-sellers trying to make profit on tickets, but be mindful that if you do buy through third party's, the name on the ticket and your ID have to match.

If you do get checked and they're different, they can turn you away from the stadium!

These are the official re-sale platforms I'd recommend for coldplay: Ticketmaster , SeeTickets and Ticket Factory

Have tickets sold out for Manchester?

I've joined the back of the queue on Ticketmaster and its says 343,610 people are in front of me.

But fans who are eventually making it to the front are saying there's now no more availability.

2,5 hrs in a queue for @Coldplay in #Manchester only to find no tickets left for any dates? What’s the point of a 10-minute booking window?

If this is the case why hasn't Ticketmaster updated to sold out to at least save people getting their hopes up?

Ticket resale outrage

Fans are outraged as tickets are appearing on re-sale sites despite some people sitting in the queue for hours.

45 minutes in a queue from 10am this morning...... point of purchase 6x tickets for Coldplay Manchester and page closed...... tickets on resale sites already. Disgraceful

Don't be scammed, there will be official pre-sale options available

Fans on Twitter are already sharing their frustrations at people re-selling tickets for 10x the price. All I can say is don't be tempted to pay more than the official rate.

Ticketmaster , SeeTickets and Ticket Factory all have official pre-sale platforms. Their 'fans-to-fans' platform means no one makes a ridiculous profit.

There's low availability for all Manchester dates on Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster is showing low-availability for all of its four Etihad Stadium dates.

If you are unlucky and don't manage to get your tickets, official re-sale sites will open later on.

coldplay tour 2023 manchester dates

I made it to the front of the queue

After being behind 400,000 people in the queue when I joined at 10 this morning I've finally got to the front.

And bought tickets of course, how could I not, although it has set me back £100 each!

The site for me was slow, and when choosing my options Ticketmaster lost connection twice (and my internet was fine). If that happens to you don't panic, just let it reset by itself.

'My account' to view my tickets also isn't loading as 'the website is very busy at the moment' but as long as you've bought through your email you can check them at a later date.

Ticket Factory have released more tickets!

TicketFactory have tickets left for the last show on Sunday June 4, and there's only 149 people in the queue.

Standing has sold out on their site, but seating is available from £99 .

The other three dates are fully sold out on their site.

Ticketmaster is down

I've just tried to check the dates and Ticketmaster browser is showing the message 'Header Overflow'

I don't know if this means theres too many people or its crashed but I can't get on!

Prices revealed

These are the prices on See Tickets for the Etihad Stadium gig on June 4, 2023.

  • Standing - £104.50
  • Seats - from £27.50 - £148.50
  • Level two front row seats - £148.50
  • VIP entry - £205 - includes standing, priority entry, exclusive VIP tour gift and souvenir wristband
  • HOT VIP ticket - £240 - includes top priced seat included, VIP tour gift and specific souvenir VIP fabric wristband.

There's only one queue for all dates!

Fans sharing their experience say the queue is the same for all dates!

It's currently at 436,115 people

FOURTH DATE ADDED

The demand is really ramping up, Coldplay have announced a fourth show date in Manchester on Sunday June 4.

Ticketmster announced the news.

UPDATE Coldplay have added an extra date at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on 4 June 2023 click here for tickets >> https://t.co/39Qwid1sk5 — ticketmasteruk (@TicketmasterUK) August 25, 2022

Record queue numbers

Coldplay's added dates are in high demand, probably the biggest hype over tickets in years.

Some fans have been in the queue since it opened and still have thousands of people ahead of them!

genuinely how is anyone getting tickets? been here since 10am and not moved much, on other devices aswell, im so annoyed #Coldplay #coldplaymanchester #Ticketmaster pic.twitter.com/pso67gkU2X — abbs (@_abbieh) August 25, 2022

Ticket Factory have SOLD OUT!

All tickets on Ticket Factory have sold out for the Manchester dates.

Many fans will be dissapointed as queues on other sites are sitting just under 500,000 people, for each date.

Ticketmaster update for Manchester shows

Here are what the queues for each Manchester dates are looking like so far on Ticketmaster :

  • 461885 for Wednesday May 31 show

461345 for Thursday June 1 show

460910 for Saturday June 3 show

The new date is already sold out on Ticket Factory , so who knows if everyone in the Ticketmaster queue will get tickets, let's hope so!

No more tickets left for the new date!

That was mega quick!

Just minutes after the new date for Manchester on Saturday June 3 was announced, they have sold out on The Ticket Factory .

The queue for this date is still open on Ticketmaster, it currently has 470,000 people in it!

A new date has been added!

Coldplay have added a new date to its Manchester shows, on Saturday June 3

Get in the queue for that date too on Ticketmaster , SeeTickets , or Ticket Factory .

UPDATE Best ticket availability for Coldplay is on 3 June 2023 at Manchester's Etihad Stadium. https://t.co/O3wbZXQaoJ — ticketmasteruk (@TicketmasterUK) August 25, 2022

Fans share their frustrations

Many fans are overwhelmed at the queue number in front of them.

Kimi tweeted to say she had more than 400,000 people in front of her, let us know what place you are below.

Ticketmaster say 'DON'T REFRESH'

A reminder for everyone in the queue not to refresh, or you'll lose your place.

As expected, Coldplay is super popular this morning. To make it as fair as possible, we have put everyone in a queue. Be patient and don’t refresh or you’ll lose your place. @coldplay — ticketmasteruk (@TicketmasterUK) August 25, 2022

SeeTickets is too busy

It's website has too many people on it to function.

The site says: "We are currently processing the maximum possible number of bookings we are able to handle at one time."

It's looking like a sell-out already

There's currently 23,800 people in front of me on Wednesday's show and 205,000 people on Thursday's date.

I hope you're having more luck than me!

Tickets are LIVE!

It's the moment we've all been waiting for!

Tickets can now be bought on Ticketmaster , SeeTickets , or Ticket Factory .

Join the waiting room!

With just five minutes to go the waiting room on Ticketmaster is open.

Once you join the room you will automatically be put in the queue when it opens.

Coldplay announce massive Manchester gigs next summer

Daisy Jackson

Coldplay have, at last, confirmed that they will perform huge stadium shows here in Manchester next summer.

The British rockers teased that they would visit the city in their recent music video for Humankind , with cryptic clues hinting at new tour dates across Europe.

And this morning – just after completing six sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium – Coldplay have dropped details of more European and UK stadium shows.

The new UK leg of their Music of the Spheres World Tour will include two shows at the Etihad Stadium (on 31 May and 1 June) in Manchester, as well as a date in Cardiff.

Today is your last day to register to vote in Greater Manchester’s local and mayoral elections, as the deadline ends at midnight tonight.

With less than a month to go until the big election day arrives, residents across the Greater Manchester region are being urged to make sure they’re registered to vote and have their voter photo ID ready, so that they’re able to head to the polls and have their say on who makes the important decisions that affect them.

In order to vote in the local and mayoral elections on Thursday 2 May, Greater Manchester residents must register before midnight tonight (Tuesday 16 April).

It takes just five minutes to apply on the gov.uk website .

They’re registered to vote, are you? The deadline to register to vote in the local elections and Greater Manchester Mayoral election on 2 May is 16 April. Make sure you're registered. Visit your local council's website. #GMElects pic.twitter.com/rtDresDZQr — Greater Manchester Combined Authority (@greatermcr) April 14, 2024

This year, residents across Greater Manchester will be voting in two elections, with residents in Salford voting in three elections.

These are for the Mayor of Greater Manchester Combined Authority – who is a major figure in the political life of the city-region, with unique powers and responsibilities – and for local Councillors , who are elected to represent their local area and residents, and get to contribute to the development of local policies too.

On top of this, Salford residents will also be voting for The Salford City Mayor too, who is Salford’s political, strategic, and community leader, and has overall responsibility for the delivery of all council services.

In case you aren’t quite up to speed, nominations for Mayor candidates closed on Friday 5 April, and that means there’s a total of six people standing in the third election for the Mayor of Greater Manchester – with current Mayor, Labour and Co-operative’s, Andy Burnham , being one of them.

The candidates nominated to stand in the election for the Mayor for Greater Manchester Combined Authority are:

  • Jake Austin (Liberal Democrats)
  • Dan Barker (Reform UK)
  • Nick Buckley (Independent)
  • Andy Burnham (Labour and Co-operative)
  • Laura Evans (The Conservative Party
  • Hannah Kathrine Spencer (Green Party)

As always, there are different ways to vote in the elections next month.

You can either do so at your local polling station, by post, or by proxy – which means appointing someone to vote on your behalf – with the deadline to apply for a postal vote in these elections being 5pm this Wednesday (17 April), and the deadline for applying for a proxy vote being 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.

As mentioned, residents will need to show a valid form of photo ID at the polling station, such as a passport, driving licence, some types of bus pass or proof of age card, or a free Voter Authority Certificate.

According to GMCA, every registered voter in Greater Manchester will have started to receive an election booklet explaining more about the election, and election addresses prepared by each of the candidates, in the post from yesterday (Monday 15 April), as required by law.

Manchester United has joined forces with police and the local Council to take action on a number of offences outside Old Trafford on match days.

This includes “illegal” parking, street trading, and so much more.

The football club teamed up with its partners, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Trafford Council , for another day of action to clampdown on a wide range of offences taking place outside its home stadium ahead of the team’s hotly-anticipated Premier League match against fierce local rivals, Liverpool, on Sunday 7 April.

Police and officers from the Council’s Regulatory Services Team tackled a number of issues on the day of action.

These included what was described as ‘rogue trading’ and ‘illegal street trading’, taxis illegally plying for hire or causing obstructions, and illegal parking, as well as the monitoring of food hygiene at food stands outside the stadium.

As part of this particular day of action – which followed a similar event outside Old Trafford on 24 February, ahead of United’s game against Fulham – Council officers and GMP staff spoke to more than 100 licensed taxis and hackney carriage drivers about illegal parking and illegally plying for hire, and 19 Fixed Penalty Notices were handed out to vehicles parked illegally on a clearway outside the ground.

Licensing and trading standards officers, along with Manchester United ’s brand protection team, also spoke with all of the licensed pitches and street traders/peddlers outside the stadium, and a total of 73 products were removed for breaking rules under the Trade Marks Act.

Further legal action is set to be taken against some traders who were committing offences and were obstructive towards Council officers who were trying to carry out their tasks, according to Trafford Council.

“Our partnership work with Trafford Council is vital in being able to tackle illegal street trading and parking issues,” a spokesperson for GMP said in a statement following the day of action.

“We will continue to work with our partners to ensure a safe matchday experience, both inside and out of the stadium, for all those attending the ground.”

Jim Liggett, who is the Director of Operations at Manchester United, also explained that the club was “pleased” to have been able to join forces with Trafford Council and GMP on their day of action to clampdown on “illegal behaviour” outside Old Trafford.

  • Andy Burnham says Old Trafford plans could be ‘the biggest regeneration scheme in the country’
  • Sir Jim Ratcliffe is aiming to make Old Trafford the ‘Wembley of the North’
  • Manchester Airport warns of ‘illegal’ parking scams ahead of busy summer holiday season

He added: “We remain committed to supporting the local authorities as we seek to collectively reduce any impact matches at Old Trafford may have on the community around the stadium.”

Coldplay announces 2023 European tour dates

Stadium shows confirmed for UK and continental Europe

After completing their triumphant run of six sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, Coldplay has announced further European and UK stadium shows for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023. The dates include the tour’s first visits to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, alongside UK shows in Manchester and Cardiff, staring in May 2023.

The new tour dates were teased via Easter eggs in the band’s new video for “Humankind,” taken from their No. 1 album, Music Of The Spheres , which premiered last week. To the excitement of the band’s eagle-eyed global following, the video also hinted at further shows being announced for southeast Asia and North America.

Tickets for the new European and UK shows will go on sale at 10 am local time on Thursday, August 25th via Ticketmaster .

Since the band’s record breaking tour began in Costa Rica in March 2022, more than four million tickets have been sold for the dates in Latin America, North America and Europe.

The tour has also been heralded for its groundbreaking set of sustainability initiatives which include a show powered by one hundred percent renewable energy in almost all locations. It features the world’s first tourable battery system which was made from 40 BMW electric car batteries; power bikes and kinetic dance floors allowing fans to help power the show; solar panels and wind turbines at every venue; a pledge to cut tour emissions by fifty percent; incentives to encourage fans to travel by green transport; and one tree planted for every ticket sold.

The Cult announce 40th anniversary UK tour for winter 2024

The dates conclude with a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall

The Cult perform live.

The Cult have announced details of a UK tour, which will celebrate their 40th year as a band. Find upcoming dates and ticket details below.

Announced today (April 16), the shows are set for later this year and will see the iconic ‘80s rock group perform in 10 cities across the country. The dates come in celebration of a huge milestone for Ian Astbury and co., as this year marks four decades since the band formed as we recognise them today – swapping their name from the original title ‘Death Cult’ into ‘The Cult’.

“Following up from the great energy of Death Cult 8323 shows, I’m looking forward to bringing that sense of celebration of the band’s music, and the communion with our fans, to Cult 8424,” guitarist Billy Duffy said of the new announcement. “CFFC. Let the ceremony commence!”

The shows all take place this winter, and kick off on October 21 with an opening night at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. This is followed the next night with a gig at Swansea Arena (22), followed by stops in Edinburgh (24), Manchester (25), Bristol (27), York (29) and Newcastle (30).

The final run of the new tour dates will take place in the first week of November; including a slot at Guildhall in Portsmouth on the 1st, and a show at Civic Hall in Wolverhampton the following night. The dates wrap up with a closing show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London on November 4.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 19) at 10am BST. Visit here to get tickets and find a full list of tour dates below.

The Cult 2024 tour dates are:

Recommended.

OCTOBER 21 – Leicester, De Montfort Hall 22– Swansea, Swansea Arena    24 – Edinburgh, Usher Hall  25 – Manchester, O2 Apollo  27 – Bristol, Beacon     29 – York, Barbican 30 – Newcastle, O2 City Hall

NOVEMBER: 1 – Portsmouth, Guildhall 2 – Wolverhampton, Civic Hall 4 – London, Royal Albert Hall

The dates for 2024 come following a tour the band embarked on last year, celebrating 40 years since their first formation under the name ‘Death Cult’ .

Taking place around the UK, Ireland and the US, the tour was called ‘Death Cult 8323’ and saw Duffy and Astbury return to play iconic venues they previously performed in at the start of their career.

The live shows focused on Death Cult and their eponymous EPs, and also boasted a setlist that spanned “the three phases of the band, from Southern Death Cult, to Death Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: ‘Dreamtime’ (1984) and ‘Love’ (1985).”

More recently, Billy Duffy joined Johnny Marr on stage in Frome last summer to play tracks by The Smiths and Depeche Mode .

The on-stage appearance was the latest of the multiple times the two musicians have joined forces, as they both have a long history of playing music together – stemming back to their adolescent years.
