Our Past Learning Journeys

Urban farms are becoming increasingly common around the world. They provide food for people living in cities who don’t have access to fresh produce. The idea behind urban farming is simple: grow your own food in places where there isn’t enough space for traditional agriculture.

Educational Resources

Food security education, our singapore food story.

In Singapore, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to food options. With the frequent what’s-for-lunch/dinner dilemma, it is easy for us to take food security for granted, as we have always enjoyed a steady and varied supply of safe food.

However, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, food security has become a topic of interest when supply chains were impacted due to border closures and lock downs. Add to that the challenge of uncertain weather conditions and climate change, sustainability is now also a major issue worth our attention. What does it take to feed a nation?

Learn about Singapore’s food story and our food supply strategies through our educational resources, which can serve as teaching supplements for schools and organisations, and self-learning resources on food security topics. A brief introduction about each resource is available below.

Please fill out this form if you wish to receive or sign up for any of them.

Travelling Exhibition

Students will learn what Our Singapore Food Story is and how Singapore is turning our food challenges into strategic advantages to ensure and secure safe food for all. Topics covered include the following. You may request for the exhibition columns to be deployed and displayed at your premises for free, subject to availability.

*Includes interactive panels
