Get off to a good start every day on board. - Hot drinks and pastries are served from 6:30 to 10:30 for early risers and late risers. - Enjoy your breakfast in the cabin with room service , in the restaurant or outside if weather permits - Enjoy pastries cooked on board, bread made daily by our French baker, home-made cakes and muffins, pancakes, waffles, eggs, cheeses and cold cuts, detox juices, and more.

Departure alert for excursions or trips

Because we want your activities to go smoothly, your cruise director alerts you before departure for any excursions you have booked if you are on a Yachting cruise, or for Zodiac® trips, if you have opted for an Expedition cruise .

On board, enjoy our varied buffet . Among the wide choice of salads, vegetables, meat and fish, desserts and pastries, choose a starter, a main dish and a dessert that have been specially cooked for you based on the theme of the day (Corsica, Mediterranean, Asian, barbecue, Italian, etc.) A restaurant on land is booked for day trips.

Your afternoon continues with the terrestrial trips that you have booked to complement your Yachting cruise . On Expedition cruises, enjoy guided trips by our naturalist-guides and discover new lands.

- Around 4 p.m., after having enjoyed a few sweet treats with cold or hot drinks accompanied by music in the Grand salon , it's time to get ready for dinner. Our Hairdresser Advisors will offer you personalised services in the Hairdressing Salon . - Enjoy the peace and quiet of your cabin to watch one of the 60 movies available in multiple languages ​​on your TV, to book a tour through the app or to immerse yourself in a book on your private balcony . - Browse in the shop or stroll through the ship's various social spaces, in the observatory lounge (on the PONANT EXPLORERS and Le Ponant), the panoramic lounge (on the Sisterships) or the Blue Eye on the PONANT EXPLORERS, with a glass of champagne or a delicious cocktail in your hand.

In the polar regions, prior to each disembarkation, a protocol designed to preserve the biosafety of fragile natural sites is put in place: passengers are required to decontaminate their boots and clothes to avoid introducing invasive species such as seeds, insects, fungi, mould, etc.

Départ pour les excursions ou les sorties

Attentif au bon déroulé de vos activités, votre directeur de croisière vous prévient du départ pour les excursions que vous avez réservées si vous êtes sur une croisière de Yachting, ou pour les sorties en Zodiac®, si vous avez opté pour une croisière d’Expédition .

- Aux alentours de 16h, après avoir dégusté quelques mignardises accompagnées de boissons fraîches ou chaudes servies en musique dans le Grand salon , préparez-vous pour le dîner. Nos Coiffeurs-Conseil vous proposeront des prestations personnalisées au Salon de coiffure . - Profitez de la tranquillité de votre cabine pour regarder un des 60 films disponibles en plusieurs langues sur votre téléviseur, pour réserver une excursion via l’application ou pour vous plonger dans un livre sur votre balcon privatif . - Flânez à la boutique ou dans les différents espaces conviviaux du navire, au salon observatoire (sur les PONANT EXPLORERS et Le Ponant), au salon panoramique (sur les Sisterships) ou dans le Blue Eye sur les PONANT EXPLORERS, une coupe de champagne ou un cocktail savoureux à la main .

Des protocoles de débarquement respectueux des écosystèmes

Notre démarche repose également sur le choix d'itinéraires réfléchis, la rédaction d'un cachier des charges environnemental spécifique à chacune des zones sensibles, un code de conduite pour les passagers, et bien sûr une tolérence zero sur l'impact laissé après notre passage. PONANT est membre de l'IAATO (Association internationale des Tour-Opérateurs en Antarctique) et de l'AECO, (Association Internationale des Croisiéristes d'Expédition pour un tourisme responsable, respectueux de l'environnement et sûr), deux associations qui régissent les activités touristiques en Antarctique et en Arctique. Dans les régions polaires, nos itinéraires et nos protocoles sont cnçus dans le respect de leurs directives, qui définissent le nombre de passagers pouvant débarquer et les conduites spécifiques à suivre (distances maximales d'approche de la faune, briefings des passagers, des membres d'équipage et du personnel d'expédition, expérience Antarctique du personnel d'expédition, plans d'urgence et d'évacuation médicale).

Elevators serve all passenger decks. Staterooms (ranging in size from 200 to 210 sq. ft.) and suites (ranging in size from 301 to 398 sq. ft.) have ocean views; 95% have private balconies. Le Soléal's inviting staterooms and suites are designed with a sophisticated French touch and offer incredible views of the surrounding ocean.

Elegant public spaces including a sun deck, pool and outdoor open bar help create the feel of an upscale hotel. A panoramic room complete with library, Internet connection and access to the panoramic terrace is available to all guests.

For your dining pleasure, a choice of two on-board restaurants; Le Restaurant Gastronomique and The Grill Restaurant. Le Restaurant Gastronomique offers French and international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maximum seating capacity of 268. Grill Restaurant offers a casual eating environment for breakfast and a buffet lunch and themed dinner. Seating options for Grill available both inside and outside.

Staterooms (approximately 199 to 226 sq. ft.) and suites (290 to 591 sq. ft.) offer individually controlled air conditioning, twin beds that convert to a queen-size bed or a sofa that converts to a queen-size bed, video on demand, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, electronic safe, iPod deck and minibar. 95% of the rooms have private balconies.

Le Soleal Ship le-soleal-ship

Sailing under the French flag, this magnificent yacht of only 132 staterooms and Suites, with balconies, joined the fleet in July 2013. You will be enchanted by the contemporary decor inspired by the luxury yachting world, with fluid lines and a modern colour scheme combining natural wood with shades of grey and white.

A refined ambiance is enhanced by the quality of the workmanship and materials: white Corian counters in the lobby contrast with the warmth of leather to recall a boat’s hull, while the central sculpture of enamelled pieces takes its inspiration from the sea. In the lounge bar, the carpet picks up a tennis stripe theme symbolising a certain idea of cruising, one synonymous with French elegance and a chic seaside spirit.

Ponant’s Le Soleal Completes Ten Years in Service

Ponant’s Le Soléal has marked ten years in service.

Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the vessel was delivered to the French cruise line on June 28, 2023 .

Third in a series of four ships that started with Le Boreal in 2010, the 260-guest vessel was purpose-built to offer luxury cruises in remote parts of the globe.

During its maiden season, Le Soléal offered a series of polar expeditions to the Arctic region.

One of the highlights of the inaugural program was a crossing of the Northwest Passage from Greenland to Siberia.

Completed in September 2013 , the operation marked the first time that a French commercial ship successfully crossed the famous shipping route.

Continuing its inaugural deployments, Le Soléal repositioned to Asia for the 2013-14 winter season.

The ship’s program in the region included a total of 16 departures and 13 different itineraries.

Among the destinations that welcomed the ship during the span were Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and India, as well as Borneo, Myanmar and Oman.

Now in service in Kimberley, the 10,000-ton vessel continues to sail in the Pacific Ocean throughout 2024.

After completing its program in the Australian region, the ship is set to offer expeditions to remote parts of Oceania and Southeast Asia before repositioning to New Zealand.

In addition to itineraries to the country’s Subantarctic Islands, Le Soleal is also scheduled to sail to unique expeditions to Antarctica departing from Dunedin during the 2023-2024 winter.

Sailing to the Ross Sea, the 21-night cruises include visits to historic sites in the region, including Sir Ernest Shackleton’s hut at Cape Royd and more.

According to Ponant, Le Soleal was designed to take passengers to the “farthest reaches of the planet” while offering “five-star, top-of-the-range services.”

Described as being similar to a mega-yacht in size and appearance, the ship also carries a fleet of 11 zodiacs, in addition to many public rooms, including two restaurants, a pool deck, a theater and several bars and lounges.

For early and late risers, a daily selection of coffee, tea, fruit juices and pastries are available from 6:30-10:00am in the Main Lounge. At the rear of Deck 2, the Gastronomic Restaurant seats all passengers together at one sitting. This elegant main dining room invites guests in for breakfast, lunch and dinner highlighting both French and international gourmet cuisine, including local specialties of the various ports visited. The Ducasse Conseil-trained chefs create a special menu offered aboard Le Soleal, including accommodation for special diets and groups through customized menus. The Gastronomic Restaurant is also host to two Gala Evening Dinner Nights with menus to go with one of the best wines from the cellar, as recommended by a sommelier. Faithful to her commitment of spreading the French way of life, aboard Le Soleal a French baker prepares and bakes fresh bread and pastries daily.

Guests can also enjoy breakfast, buffet lunch and themed dinners in the more relaxed atmosphere of the Grill Restaurant on Deck 6.
