Roads are Dangerous is a mod that increases the chances of enemy encounters during fast travel. Due to the fact that the rate at which you can run into bandits and other violent folks on the road is low by default, this is a great mod for people who want their fast travel experience to be more lively or who want more opportunities to dish out justice to bandits. Another cool thing Roads are Dangerous does is add three different types of enemies you can fight on the road, adding combat variety.

Fast travel speed increasing

How to fast travel faster? My fast traveling is very slow, but I saw I bunch of videos where people fast travel between cities in a few seconds! How to increase fast travel speed?

So the thing i’ve noticed on pc. If you turn v-sync off, the FPS in fast traveling and waiting goes above 100/150. That actually increases the speed of fast travel how funny it may seem. Try it out yourself

Then, just as on my xbox, theres nothing you can do about it. I play on Hardcore so no fast travel for me either way haha

I think it is because of the people blocking your horse on the road, but I am not sure cause I do not see into the action. It goes both fast and slow for me.

Fast travel

• View history

When fast traveling you can come across Wayfarers. You may choose to ignore them or engage them. Engaging appears to have a 100% success rate. Escaping/Ignoring appears to not be guaranteed.

• 1 Attack on the Road
• 3.1 Poachers
• 4 Faint-hearted Knight
• 6 Lost Trader
• 7 Mercenaries
• 9 The Riddler
• 10 Treasure Hunters
• 11.1 Armour

Attack on the Road [ ]

You will be ambushed if you choose to Avoid and fail. If you choose to Scout you may not actually have a chance to scout.

Beggars [ ]

Beggars will plead for coin. You cannot haggle with them, although this may be just a bug. There is one exception: Beggar who can sell you Shadowplay III

• Give them 1 bandage
• Give them shoes
• The beggar is upset
• The beggar apologizes for bothering you.

• Open inventory to give them a food item

Carcass on the Road [ ]

This encounter will spawn either a dead wayfarer or a dead game animal on the road in a puddle of blood. You can loot the body, but any items will be marked as stolen. When you approach the body, an NPC, who may be a trader or villager, will approach you and accuse you of killing the corpse.

Poachers [ ]

• The NPC and Henry will part ways.
• SUCCESS: Loops back. May be bug.
• FAILURE: ???
• SUCCESS: ???
• FAILURE: Villager will run to the nearest town to complain about you.
• It didn't do it.
• The NPC admits it and Henry is given another option.
• SUCCESS ???
• FAILURE: ??

Faint-hearted Knight [ ]

Sir Olbram of Losiny isn't exactly the best knight, but his mother told him to go out and duel maidens and save bandits (or something), so that's what he's going to do.

Lost Trader [ ]

A trader will ask for directions, giving him the correct direction will result in you gaining reputation.

Mercenaries [ ]

You may encounter a Mercenary. This Wayfarer will offer you the opportunity to duel as a wager. If you win, you will receive the waged sum. If you lose, you will forfeit your coin.

• Henry will place his bet and the two fight.
• The fight is cancelled.

This Wayfarer will sell you meat. You may also attempt a Speech check to get some Groschen from them rather than turning them in for their crimes. Finally, you may report them for poaching.

• Loops back to previous dialogue
• The Poacher will attack Henry.

The Riddler [ ]

Treasure hunters [ ].

Wayfaring Knight [ ]

Usually found at a crossroad or along the length of any main road you can take between large settlements, the Wayfaring Knight is a honourable man who will gladly duel you for honor. This man is the very opposite of Olbram, the Fainted-hearted Knight, in that he actually knows how to fight well, and is indeed just as well, if not better, armoured than him. He will fight with a Merchant's sword (longsword).
