BLAINE, Minn. -- Lee Hodges rarely gets rattled, except perhaps during Alabama football games when he's rooting for his beloved Crimson Tide.

After using that unflappable demeanor to keep control of the 3M Open, Hodges finally let loose.

Hodges shot a 67 in the final round on Sunday for a wire-to-wire title at the 3M Open and his first PGA TOUR victory, setting tournament records with a 260 and a seven-stroke win.

“The process I went through, I’ll take this week forever,” Hodges said. “I’ll just try to keep replicating this week every time I show up to a tournament.”

Hodges, who started the day with a five-stroke lead on J.T. Poston, was up by three entering the par-5 last hole on his 65th career start. After Poston’s go-for-broke approach yielded a triple bogey, Hodges tapped in a short putt for his third birdie of the round.

“I had to try and give it a shot and see if there was some way I could make 3 there at the end and put some pressure on Lee,” Poston said.

The 28-year-old Alabama native hugged and hoisted his wife, Savannah, in celebration after she hustled out to the green to greet him. Then Jay Seawell, Hodges' college coach at Alabama, surprised him with a special appearance and a milkshake in hand. Not bad for a guy from the small town of Ardmore.

“I’m super proud to be from there and represent those people,” Hodges said. “Man, I’m sure there is a party going on in north Alabama right now.”

Poston shot a 69 to drop into a three-way tie for second place with Martin Laird and Kevin Streelman. Dylan Wu shot a 64 to match Keith Mitchell for fifth at 16 under.

Tony Finau, the defending champion and highest-ranked player at 10th in the FedExCup standings participating in this field, shot a 70 to land in a three-way tie for seventh.

Hodges shot a 63 on Thursday, a 64 on Friday and a 66 on Saturday to take a commanding lead into the final round at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine on a former sod farm in suburban Minneapolis. He had two eagles and two bogeys on Sunday.

With one previous top-three finish in 2022 at The American Express in La Quinta, California, Hodges said on Saturday he couldn't recall a five-shot lead in his entire career, amateur competition included, and felt as if he was “playing with house money” with his place on the TOUR next season secured.

“Last night, me and my wife, we ate dinner here and then we went to get some ice cream and I slept like a baby,” Hodges said.

Lee Hodges news conference after winning 3M Open

Entering the week in 74th place in the FedExCup standings, Hodges soared to 33rd with the $1.4 million prize and 500 FedExCup points for the win. He became the 23rd third-round leader or co-leader to win on TOUR this season, following Brian Harman last week at The Open Championship.

Poston entered the week in 60th place in the FedExCup standings and shot up to 38th.

Hodges set the 54-hole tournament record at 193, two strokes better than the score Scott Piercy took into the final round last year. Piercy proceeded to shoot a 76, including a triple bogey on No. 14, and squander a five-stroke lead with 11 holes to go. Finau shot a 67 and won the trophy by three strokes.

Hodges avoided that fate. His lead was cut from six to four when he three-putted the 15th hole and Poston, his final-round playing partner, smacked his second shot from the fairway to the green about 7 feet from the cup for his fourth birdie of the afternoon. But Hodges bounced right back to match Poston’s birdie on 16.

“He played great all day. We knew it was going to take something pretty special to pull it off,” Poston said.

Lee Hodges’ Round 4 highlights from 3M Open

Poston's second shot from the rough on the edge of the water glanced off the rocks on the retaining wall and ricocheted backward off the floating tournament logo before a splash that cost him a penalty stroke. His fifth shot rolled down the slope on the front of the green, and he overshot his first putt.

Beau Hossler gave his postseason bid a bump with a blistering 62 in the final round to tie the course record and finish at 13 under for the tournament, tied for 13th place.

The 28-year-old Hossler entered the week in 62nd place on the FedExCup standings. The top 70 players qualify for the three-stage Playoffs that begins Aug. 10 with the FedEx St. Jude Championship. There's one more stop on the TOUR next weekend at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, to move up -- or slide down.

Hossler made eight straight birdies from holes 9 through 16, one short of the PGA TOUR record. That included a 45-foot putt he holed on his second shot on No. 13 that had “no business” going in.

2023 3M Open leaderboard, grades: Lee Hodges goes wire-to-wire, wins by seven for first PGA Tour victory

Hodges fired a 67 sunday to get to 24 under at tpc twin cities and win for the first time on the pga tour.

Final rounds on the PGA Tour while in contention are meant to be stressful, but no one tell Lee Hodges that. The 28-year-old continued his dominance Sunday at the 2023 3M Open carding a final-round 67 to claim his first PGA Tour win in wire-to-wire fashion. Besting the field by seven strokes at 24 under, Hodges was in a class of his own over 72 holes at TPC Twin Cities.

Hodges's victory could not have come at a better time with the FedEx Cup Playoffs looming large. With his effort in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star makes a massive leap from outside the top 70 in the season-long race to 33rd. He will have work to do if he is to qualify for the Tour Championship for the first time in his career, but as of now he is firmly in the field for the St. Jude Championship and has the inside track to tee it up at the BMW Championship as well.

"This has been a dream week," Hodges said. "I've got the best caddie in the world. I've got the best wife in the world. I've got my mom and dad…I've got the best everybody. I mean, I've got the best team in the whole world, and they work so hard and I couldn't do it without them."

The smooth-swinging right hander never trailed over the weekend in Blaine, Minnesota, seeing his lead trimmed to as little as two after a nervy front nine on Saturday. It was that back nine in the third round which Hodges used to separate himself from the field and rid his system of any tension ahead of Sunday's deciding 18.

Hodges was at ease from the first tee shot in the final round. Splitting fairways and hitting greens in regulation, Hodges' initial punch connected early on the difficult par-4 2nd when his approach settled inside 5 feet to set up his first birdie of the round.

His overnight lead stretched to as many as seven when he converted an eagle on the sixth. Playing partner Poston held his own and attempted to apply pressure as the two traversed through the par 71. A bogey from Hodges on No. 9 and a birdie from Poston on No. 10 pulled the pursuer within five with a handful of scoring chances in view.

However, just as Hodges did on the front nine, a blistering approach from 256 yards into the par-5 12th squashed any thought of a herculean comeback. Setting up just a formality for eagle, Hodges's approach put him six clear of the field with six holes to go.

While there were some hairy moments coming in – namely a two-shot swing on the 15th – the trophy was as good as Hodges' from that point. Becoming the first wire-to-wire winner in the young history of the 3M Open, the PGA Tour sophomore captured himself a little sliver of history and his first invitation to The Masters with his dominant entry into the winner's circle. However, that is not all as Hodges has caught himself a wave of momentum heading into the postseason where history suggests anything can happen.  Grade: A+

Here is how the rest of the leaderboard looked at the 2023 3M Open.

T7. Tony Finau (-15):  Finau was great all week and would have been in the mix if not for Hodges' outrageous performance from beginning to end. He's going to be a really interesting test case for the U.S. Ryder Cup team, too. He heads into the final week of the regular season inside the top 10 in the FedEx Cup standings but outside the top 15 in the Ryder Cup standings. The latter is probably more indicative of overall play (Finau ranked 31st on the U.S. side in strokes gained over the last three months), and as a result, he's probably on the outside looking in at this point. However, if he  is  going to make the team, the formula is a scorching-hot final month of the year, including a win or near-win in one of the three FedEx Cup Playoffs events. Finau is in a good position to make it all the way to the Tour Championship, and at this point he put together a nice first step in his final push toward playing on his third Ryder Cup team in Rome.  Grade: A

T10. Cam Davis (-14):  After a bunch of nothing since a T4 at the PGA Championship, this is the finish (65 on Sunday) Davis needed to play his way into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He's projected to move inside the top 70 with his finish this week at TPC Twin Cities, which is where a player like him should be heading toward the playoffs. Davis has taken a bit of a step back this year after five consecutive years of improvement and a game that looked like it was trending toward him being a top 20 player in the world. This week could be a nice inflection point in turning that around and getting him rolling the right way once again.  Grade: A

"I've been in a few situations where my back's been against the wall since I've turned pro," Davis said. "Most of the time it's worked out well for me and kept me moving forward. So I would like to keep that trend going and play well next week and get myself to the playoffs. … The goal is to play a really solid tournament next week."

T64. Ludvig Aberg (-3):  Aberg has had plenty of opportunities to make his case for the European Ryder Cup team in September. He's been nice in places, but through six starts, he only has one top 20 (a T4 at the John Deere Classic). Unless he wins next week's Wyndham Championship, he's not going to be in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and I'm not sure you can pick a player based on one top 20 in seven starts (including next week's). That could change, of course, but it's clear he's going to have to develop a bit to go with his otherworldly skills off the tee. I fully expect that he will do so and go on to become a top 20 player in the world, but the Ryder Cup chatter is probably slightly premature.  Grade: C+

Lee Hodges takes three-stroke lead to 72nd hole

It is a dropped shot from our leader on the par-3 17th as Lee Hodges drops to 23 under. He will need to avoid the dreaded three-shot swing on the par-5 18th. The good news for JT Poston, his closest pursuer, is something like that may be possible on the final hole with an eagle, bogey finish. It is far-fetched, but weirder things have happened.

Two-shot swing on 15

Alright, well the door may have been cracked open ever so slightly with three holes to go. JT Poston makes birdie on the 15th, and Lee Hodges needs three putts from the front of the green to card only his second bogey of the day. He is at 23 under with Poston at 19 under. Next up is a drivable par 4.

‘A dream week’: Lee Hodges blows away field to win 3M Open

Lee Hodges blew away the field on Sunday at the 3M Open.

What’s in the water in pro golf?

A week after Brian Harman’s stunning six-stroke win at the Open Championship, fellow southerner Lee Hodges delivered one of the most lopsided wins of the year at the 3M Open, blowing away the field at TPC Twin Cities to win by seven strokes.

Hodges captured his first PGA Tour win at the 3M, securing not only a career-defining victory but also an invitation into next year’s Masters, the first trip to Augusta of his professional career. That news likely came as doubly exciting to back home at Canebrake Country Club in Athens, Ala., where more than 100 of Hodges’ friends and family members gathered to see their native son capture the most significant victory of his life to date.

“This has been a dream week,” he said. “I’ve got the best everybody and they work so hard. I couldn’t do it without them. Man, I’m just happy everybody’s here and everybody back home is going insane.”

The Winner: Lee Hodges, 24-under (seven-stroke victory)

How he did it: Perhaps the better question is, how couldn’t he do it? Hodges steamrolled the competition at TPC Twin Cities all week, going wire-to-wire in his victory, the first in 3M Open history. The closest anyone got to challenging him on Sunday was when JT Poston climbed within four strokes to get to 20 under par. Still, with Hodges at a healthy -24, there was never much to worry about.

He won by seven strokes, but that was as close as the tournament got at any point on Sunday afternoon. Not bad for a first-time winner sleeping on a 54-hole lead.

The contenders: Poston was closest of all, but a handful of other pros carded impressive performances — and fat paychecks — on Sunday afternoon. Martin Laird and Kevin Streelman fired mid-60s scores to find themselves at 17 under for the tournament and in a tie for third place, while Dylan Wu and Keith Mitchell left the weekend with top-10 finishes collected.

The payout: Signifcant for one Lee Hodges, who collects $1.4 million for winning at TPC Twin Cities. Prior to this weekend, Hodges had earned just $2.05 million for the season . Hodges also vaults himself safely into FedEx Cup Playoff territory, giving him access to the big-money events that will close out the season.

The Ryder Cup: U.S. hopeful Tony Finau boosts his candidacy with a T7 finish. Finau, who competed on the victorious U.S. squad at Whistling Straits in 2021, is hoping a hot streak into the FedEx Cup Playoffs could be enough to pus him into one of the final roster spots in a crowded U.S. picture. Justin Thomas, who is clinging to his Ryder Cup life in the midst of one of the coldest streaks of his pro career, missed the cut on Friday afternoon and will need a strong performance at next week’s Wyndham Championship to secure a spot just in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. From there, it’ll be an uphill climb for the Ryder Cup veteran to earn one of six captain’s selections by Zach Johnson.

What’s next: The final event of the 2023 PGA Tour regular season, the Wyndham Championship, before the attention shifts to the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis.

Golf | Lee Hodges notches first PGA Tour career win in runaway fashion

3M Open winner Lee Hodges kisses trophy on Sunday.

Two shots during the final round of the 3M Open — one more majestic than the next — sealed Lee Hodges’ first career PGA Tour victory on Sunday.

Both were second-shot approaches on par 5s.

The first came on the sixth hole when Hodges, from 253 yards out, laced a ball that landed about two feet clear of the greenside pond and skipped 11 feet past the cup. He buried the eagle putt to get to 23-under par on the tournament.

The second came on the 12th, when Hodges, coming off two pulled drives, on No. 10 and No. 11 that led to scrambling pars, blitzed his drive down the fairway, leaving himself with 256 yards to the pin. He fired a dart that softly landed 2 feet, 8 inches away for a kick-in eagle to all but end the competition.

“Those were two of the greatest shots I ever hit,” Hodges said.

Hodges alternated bogeys and birdies over his final four holes on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities, putting an exclamation point on the victory with a stuffed wedge from 115 yards out to just 16 inches that left a tap-in birdie on 18 to finish his week with a record 24-under 260 score for the tournament. Hodges, the first wire-to-wire winner in tournament’s five-year history, won by a whopping seven shots, marking it the largest margin of victory on the PGA Tour since 2019.

J.T. Poston entered the final hole four shots behind Hodges. But a risky second shot trying to set himself up for eagle and a shot at victory found the lake — the 71st and final ball in the water on No. 18 this week — and Poston , who was rock solid over the first 17 holes of the day, failed to execute from there, turning in a final-hole triple-bogey 8 that dropped him back into a three-way tie for second with Martin Laird and Kevin Streelman at 17-under 267.

That dip from solo second place to a three-way tie for the position moved Poston from 38th in the FedExCup standings to 49th. It’s a consequential drop considering the top 50 make the second event of the FedExCup playoffs, and the top 30 reach the Tour Championship.

“We’re not coming here to finish second. At the end of the day, we were trying to do something special and try and win,” Poston said. “I wouldn’t want to be sleeping tonight wondering ‘what if’ if I had just laid it up instead of trying to go for it. No regrets on the decision. You know, tried to do what we could to win.”

Hodges is in a good position for all of those events now after his victory. Entering the Blaine tournament, Hodges sat in 74th place in the FedExCup standings with just two regular-season events to play. The top 70 players after next week advance to the postseason. With the win, Hodges — who entered this week having missed the cut in three of his past four events —- climbed to 33rd in the standings.

He also collected a cool $1.4 million winner’s check.

Yet Hodges said the coolest thing about the victory is knowing he’s now entered into next year’s Masters.

Low scores were available to be had Sunday at TPC Twin Cities. Beau Hossler demonstrated that in the morning, tying the course record with a 9-under round of 62 that featured eight consecutive birdies from holes No. 9-16. That round moved Hossler to 13 under for the tournament. He finished in a tie for 13th.

Dylan Wu and Zac Blair also carded 7-under rounds of 64 to finish tied for fifth and tied for 13th, respectively.

But those closest to Hodges at the start of the day were unable to generate such fireworks. Defending 3M Open champion Tony Finau was six back to start his round. But while he didn’t record a bogey Sunday, Finau also produced just one birdie, a tap-in four at the par-5 sixth hole.

Regardless of the performance of others, there was no catching Hodges. He noted he started making birdies Monday in Blaine, and that continued throughout the week.

“I played some outstanding golf today and all week,” he said. “The process I went through, yeah, I’ll take this week forever. I’ll just try to keep replicating this week every time I show up to a tournament.”

This was his week. Sunday was his day. That’s why about 100 people were tuned in at a viewing party back in his hometown of Ardmore, Ala., population 1,370. It’s why his wife, Savannah, was in attendance in Blaine. As was his college coach, Alabama golf coach Jay Seawell, who flew in Sunday morning to watch his former player take home a victory.

Hodges first noticed Seawell as he was standing on the 18th green. The coach greeted his former golfer with a chocolate milkshake, continuing a celebratory tradition established in college.

The sweet taste of victory.

“I mean, you can’t even make that up,” Hodges said. “That’s super special, something I’ll remember forever.”

Lee Hodges gets his 1st PGA tour victory with a wire-to-wire win at the 3M Open, by 7 strokes

BLAINE, Minn. (AP) — Lee Hodges rarely gets rattled, except perhaps during Alabama football games when he's rooting for his beloved Crimson Tide.

After using that unflappable demeanor to keep control of the 3M Open, Hodges finally let loose.

Hodges shot a 67 in the final round on Sunday for a wire-to-wire title at the 3M Open and his first tour victory, setting tournament records with a 260 and a seven-stroke win.

“The process I went through, I’ll take this week forever,” Hodges said. “I’ll just try to keep replicating this week every time I show up to a tournament.”

Hodges, who started the day with a five-stroke lead on J.T. Poston , was up by three entering the par-5 last hole on his 65th career start. After Poston’s go-for-broke approach yielded a triple bogey, Hodges tapped in a short putt for his third birdie of the round.

“I had to try and give it a shot and see if there was some way I could make 3 there at the end and put some pressure on Lee,” Poston said.

The 28-year-old Alabama native hugged and hoisted his wife , Savannah, in celebration after she hustled out to the green to greet him. Then Jay Seawell, Hodges' college coach at Alabama , surprised him with a special appearance and a milkshake in hand.

Tony Finau , the defending champion and highest-ranked player at 10th in the FedEx Cup standings participating in this field, shot a 70 to land in a three-way tie for seventh.

Hodges shot a 63 on Thursday , a 64 on Friday and a 66 on Saturday to take a commanding lead into the final round at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine on a former sod farm in suburban Minneapolis. He had two eagles and two bogeys on Sunday, following an aggressive approach he .

Entering the week in 74th place in the FedEx Cup standings, Hodges soared to 33rd with the $1.4 million prize for the win. He became the 23rd third-round leader or co-leader to win on tour this season, following Brian Harman last week at the British Open.

Poston entered the week in 60th place in the FedEx Cup standings and shot up to 38th.

Hodges set the 54-hole tournament record at 193, two strokes better than the score Scott Piercy took into the final round last year. Piercy proceeded to shoot a 76, including a triple bogey on No. 14, and squander a five-stroke lead with 11 holes to go. Finau shot a 67 and won the trophy by three strokes .

Bryson DeChambeau, Lucas Glover, Scott Piercy and champion Matthew Wolff each shot a 62 during the inaugural event in 2019.

The 28-year-old Hossler entered the week in 62nd place on the FedEx Cup standings. The top 70 players qualify for the three-stage playoff event that begins Aug. 10 with the St. Jude Championship. There's one more stop on the tour next weekend at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, to move up — or slide down.

Hossler made eight straight birdies from holes 9 through 16, one short of the PGA Tour record. That included a 45-foot putt he holed on his second shot on No. 13 that had “no business” going in.

Ardmore’s Lee Hodges is a PGA Tour winner

Hodges secures first pga tour win.

Blaine, Minn. ( WAFF ) - Sporting his alma mater in his back pocket, Lee Hodges won his first PGA Tour event on Sunday, July 30. Hodges finished the 3M Open at the top of the leaderboard at 24-under 260 (63-64-66-67).

Front nine:

Hodges came into the final round of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota with a 5-stroke lead over J.T. Poston . However, it wouldn’t take the Huntsville native and former Alabama Crimson Tide Golfer long to separate himself even further. Hodges birdied the second hole of his final round. He would later eagle the sixth hole to increase his lead to 7-strokes. Hodges would finish the front 9 with a minor setback when he carded a bogey on the ninth hole.

With his college coach, Jay Seawell, who traveled to Blaine, Minnesota on Sunday to surprise Hodges, looking on Hodges would get back into a grove on the back nine when he carded two pars. The nail in the coffin came on the par five twelfth hole where he carded his second eagle of the day, putting him 4-under par for the day, 24-under par for the tournament, and 6 strokes ahead of Poston. However, that lead would dwindle when he carded two bogies. Hodges stepped onto the eighteenth tee with a 3-stroke lead. Hodges would go on to birdie the hole and secure his first PGA Tour victory.

From Ardmore High School to a PGA Tour event winner:

Hodges, who was born in Huntsville, Alabama played golf for Ardmore High School. During his high school career, Hodges placed fourth at the 2013 Alabama 4A State Championships. A year later, he earned individual medalist honors at the 2014 Alabama 4A State Championships.

Hodges, who was destined to attend the University of Alabama , began his collegiate career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his time at UAB, Hodges was named First-Team All-Conference USA twice. He was also named the 2015 Conference USA Freshman of the Year.

Hodges rolled into Tuscaloosa in August 2016. During his junior year with the Crimson Tide, Hodges was the only golfer to play in all 12 events of the year. He won the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate with a 10-under 206 (69-68-69). During Hodges’ senior year, he shot his 54-hole career-low mark of 9-under par 201 (67-65-69).

Hodges’ first PGA-sanctioned event win came in 2020 when he won the Portland Open. Hodges joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019. While on the Korn Ferry Tour, Hodges had one win, one third-place finish, and five top-five finishes.

With the win on Sunday, Hodges will maintain his PGA tour card for two years. Hodges moves from 74 to 33 on the FedEx Cup standings with only one event left before the playoffs. Only the top 70 players qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

BLAINE, Minn. — Lee Hodges rarely gets rattled, except perhaps during Alabama football games when he’s rooting for his beloved Crimson Tide.

Then Jay Seawell, Hodges’ college coach at Alabama, surprised him with a special appearance and a milkshake in hand.

Tony Finau, the defending champion and highest-ranked player at 10th in the FedEx Cup standings participating in this field, shot a 70 to land in a three-way tie for seventh.

Hodges shot a 63 on Thursday, a 64 on Friday and a 66 on Saturday to take a commanding lead into the final round at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine on a former sod farm in suburban Minneapolis. He had two eagles and two bogeys on Sunday, following an aggressive approach.

With one previous top-three finish in 2022 at The American Express in La Quinta, California, Hodges said on Saturday he couldn’t recall a five-shot lead in his entire career, amateur competition included, and felt as if he was “playing with house money” with his place on the tour next season secured.

“Last night, me and my wife, we ate dinner here and then we went to get some ice cream and I slept like a baby,” Hodges said.

Poston’s second shot from the rough on the edge of the water glanced off the rocks on the retaining wall and ricocheted backward off the floating tournament logo before a splash that cost him a penalty stroke. His fifth shot rolled down the slope on the front of the green, and he overshot his first putt.

Beau Hossler gave his postseason bid a bump with a blistering 62 in the final round to tie the course record and finish at 13 under for the tournament, tied for 13th place.

There’s one more stop on the tour next weekend at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, to move up — or slide down.

Hossler made eight straight birdies from holes 9 through 16, one short of the PGA Tour record. That included a 45-foot putt he holed on his second shot on No. 13 that had “no business” going in.

Masters 2024 predictions, odds, top picks, props: Golf insider backs Sam Burns at Augusta National

Golf insider patrick mcdonald has revealed his 2024 masters picks, pga best bets and props for augusta national.

lee hodges tour wins

It's easy to see why Scottie Scheffler is the heavy favorite to win his second green jacket at the 2024 Masters, which tees off Thursday, April 11. The world's No. 1 golfer is having a stellar 2024 season so far, finishing in the top 10 in six of his first seven events. He is also coming off back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer and Players Championship, which is why he is the 5-1 favorite in the latest 2024 Masters odds. However, Scheffler will be challenged by the likes of Jon Rahm, Hideki Matsuyama and Dustin Johnson, who will also try to get their second green jacket at Augusta National Golf Course.

Rahm, who won the event in 2023, is 13-1 among the 2024 Masters contenders, while Johnson and Matsuyama are both longshots. Should you pick Scheffler to top all of them and continue his strong 2024 season, or will another one of the 2024 Masters golfers keep him from winning his second green jacket? Before locking in any 2024 Masters picks or golf predictions, you need to see what proven golf betting expert Patrick McDonald has to say , considering his recent track record.

McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf writer in 2022 after stops at NBC Sports and RyderCup.com. Covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still likes to dip his toes into the betting pools on a weekly basis between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and more. Featured weekly on the Early Wedge, he has given out numerous winners already in 2024, including Jake Knapp (50-1) at the Mexico Open.

Now, McDonald has focused his attention on the 2024 Masters field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can see only see them at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Masters expert picks

One stunning prediction from McDonald: He is high on Sam Burns, even though he is a 55-1 longshot. McDonald highlights the "significant strides" Burns has made off the tee, as well as "blending distance with new-found accuracy" as reasons he's high on the LSU product. This is added to Burns' dominance on greens, as he ranks 10th on the PGA Tour in putting average (1.700) and 19th in putts per round (28.12).

Burns also ranks 17th on the PGA Tour in shots gained total (1.108), which has been evident in his starts this season. He has four top-10 finishes through eight events in 2024, which contributes to McDonald liking his chances of finishing towards the top of the 2024 Masters leaderboard.  See who else to back here .

How to make 2024 Masters picks, bets

McDonald is also jumping on an underdog who's had plenty of success at Augusta National but is still listed at more than 100-1 to win it all.  You can only see his 2024 Masters picks at SportsLine .

So, which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 Masters, and which proven golfer in the Masters 2024 field could bring a monster payday of almost 100-1?

The 28-year-old Alabama native hugged and hoisted his wife , Savannah, in celebration after she hustled out to the green to greet him. Then Jay Seawell, Hodges' college coach at Alabama , surprised him with a special appearance and a milkshake in hand.

Tony Finau, the defending champion and highest-ranked player at 10th in the FedEx Cup standings participating in this field, shot a 70 to land in a three-way tie for seventh.

Lee Hodges wins first PGA TOUR title with dominant wire-to-wire victory at 3M Open

Daily Wrap Up

Lee Hodges wins first PGA TOUR title with dominant wire-to-wire victory at 3M Open

Change Text Size

Lee Hodges birdies No. 18 to win at 3M Open

Lee Hodges sends 257-yard approach to 2 feet for the Shot of the Day

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

lee hodges tour wins

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

lee hodges tour wins

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

lee hodges tour wins

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

lee hodges tour wins

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
