As discussed by Screen Rant , Johnson weighed over 750 pounds when she first appeared on My 600-lb Life, which made it difficult for her to walk without assistance.

She experienced food addiction and had been previously hospitalized due to breathing issues.

As the outlet also noted, Johnson discussed how her food addiction stemmed from her father's verbal abuse she experienced during her childhood .

Dr. Nowzaradan put Johnson on a nutrition plan , which caused her to lose more than 150 pounds before having gastric bypass surgery .

Margaret Wants to Get Healthy on 'My 600-Lb Life' — Where Is She Now?

It's not often that My 600-lb Life episodes feature truly bedridden patients , but in the Jan. 5, 2022 episode, Margaret Johnson is reliant on remaining in her bed or a wheelchair more often than not. She can sit up on her own if needed, but even when she has physical therapy, she can't move all that much while in bed. So, where is Margaret from My 600-lb Life now?

In the episode, Margaret explains why she weighs more than 700 pounds, and as far as stories go on this show, it's one of the most heartbreaking by far. She explains that her food issues began as a small child when her father, who she says was 1,000 pounds, ate most of the food in the house. Margaret and her siblings nearly starved as a result.

So by the time Margaret was able to start sneaking into the pantry or refrigerator to steal some of her father's food, it became a way to get back at him. By the time she was six years old, Margaret weighed more than 100 pounds. From there, her weight increased every year. She was also consistently verbally abused by her father, which only made her reliance on food for comfort stronger.

Margaret and her mother have a close relationship in her 'My 600-lb Life' episode.

Margaret explains in the episode that her mom, Millie, had gastric bypass surgeries years ago. Even so, her mom has given in to Margaret's cravings for unhealthy food. And at times in the episode, Margaret's mother alternates between treating Margaret almost like a child and lashing out at her out of frustration.

Margaret's mother is her primary caretaker, and she is there with Margaret for her doctor appointments and follow ups. She seems genuinely excited for Margaret when they learn she lost 100 pounds while scaling back on her calorie intake at home. Her mom assures Dr. Now that she will continue to urge Margaret to eat healthy foods and move forward with her weight loss in order to qualify for bariatric surgery.

Where is Margaret from 'My 600-lb Life' now?

There are times in the episode when Margaret relapses on her progress. There's a scene where a pair of physical therapists come to her house to work with her and she sends them away at first, but after reconsidering, she allows them in and they have a session while Margaret lays in bed. And after Margaret learns of her 100 pounds weight loss on her own, she's encouraged to keep working hard.

"I know this is my last chance to turn my life around," Margaret says of getting the surgery. "So I'm not going to mess this up. I'm gonna do all the things I should be doing and I'm not gonna let up no matter what, because now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I'm just running faster towards it."

There doesn't seem to be a public social media account associated with Margaret, so she may be keeping her life private since she filmed My 600-lb Life . But, given her progress in her episode, it's totally possible that Margaret is now living a much healthier lifestyle.

In the episode, Margaret does have a setback when she has an appointment with Dr. Now and finds out she's lost only five pounds since her previous appointment. It seems like Margaret might give up altogether, but she eventually gets back on track and she qualifies for her surgery. Hopefully she remained on the road to her goal weight and lifestyle after filming ended.

‘My 600-Lb. Life’: Margaret’s Mom Millie Spills Beans On Future Filming

My 600-Lb. Life  fans wonder if there will be a  Where Are They Now?  episode featuring Margaret Johnson and her mother Millie. The topic of conversation came up in a  Reddit  thread questioning the timeline of the recent episodes. Fortunately, there were people chatting in the subreddit that just happened to follow both Margaret Johnson and her mother Millie on social media. And, Margaret’s mother Millie had spilled the beans on future filming for the series.

Fans found this mother and daughter bizarre

My 600-Lb. Life  fans cannot stop talking about Margaret Johnson and her mother Millie. Fans admit their dynamic was bizarre . The episode has been described as “cringe,” “awkward,” “uncomfortable,” and “difficult to watch.” Some fans admit they actually watched the episode more than once to try to better understand Millie and Margaret. The episode kicked off with Margaret being bedbound, so Millie was quickly labeled as an enabler.

As we previously reported, some fans suspected Millie might actually be abusive with Margaret when the cameras weren’t rolling. Fans believe they got a taste of her abusive nature when PT arrived and she wouldn’t let them in at first.

Will fans see more of Millie and Margaret?

In chatter on  Reddit,  fans expressed frustration for episodes only being 6 to 8 months of the cast member’s lives. Fans admit they really want to see a full year. Other fans suspect that COVID-19 plays a massive role in the timelines for the episodes. Noticeably, the last couple of episodes have all been cast members who lived relatively close to Houston, Texas.

My 600-Lb. Life  fans admit they are hopeful they will get to see a Where Are They Now episode featuring Millie and Margaret. They want to know if Margaret sticks to her diet and is able to continue to drop weight. Those who have stalked the mother and daughter on Facebook discovered that Millie spilled the beans on their future with the show. Turns out, the production team was interested in filming more episodes with them.

Millie, however, reveals that she and Margaret shut the production team down. Unfortunately for those looking forward to seeing this odd pairing on TV again, the mother and daughter decided they did not want to film any additional episodes.

The only thing i can think is because Margaret fell off the bandwagon and didn’t lose the weight she hoped for and ashamed to show herself to the public Other wise had she lost the weight she would be happy to show it off.

I think you might be right. Those 2 are the most weird 2 ppl I’ve ever seen. They are so codependent on eachother it’s just sickening, notice they never say I or myself or any words as individuals, it’s always we, we, we, it’s to the point of being sick. Plus Margaret and all of that fake crying had me to the point i almost couldn’t get through the episode, it was just disgusting. Maybe her mom is abit abusive becuz Margaret acts so infantile, I’ve never seen a grown woman act like that in my life, hope she looses the weight and gets away from Millie. They are a strange dynamic for sure, the strangest I’ve ever seen in my 64 yrs on this earth

Millie needs to put some clothes on instead of running around half naked, it’s revolting. She thinks she’s Twiggy.

That should be an agreement when they sign the initial contract to film, it should automatically include and agreement to film a “where are they now series”. If the participants don’t film the where are they now episodes, they break the contract and forgo their pay.

Millie continues to gaslight Margaret into being a baby.

I agree. I think that a lot of Margaret’s problem is Millie. She’s really controlling and her so-called ‘support’ and ‘encouragement ‘ is really creepy, negative and codependent. The way she hangs all over Margaret seems to me to do more harm than good. They definitely should have separate therapy cuz Millie doesn’t let Margaret express her opinion. She talks about independence but won’t let go and give Margaret a chance to develop any with the therapist’s help.

I was really pulling for Margaret and hope she returns to continue her weight loss journey.

I feel like Margaret is functioning on a lower IQ or is mentally handicapped and that would explain her behaviors and child like demeaner as well as her tantrums when she doesn’t get what she wants. If this is the case then her mom Millie is doing her a great disservice not teaching her how to be more independent and teaching her to take care of her own personal hygiene. I think mom wants her totally dependent!

Yes very odd relationship. Margaret acts like a child instead of a 35-year-old woman. Thinking about the day Millie dies makes me fear for Margaret. She will lose it.

I have not made it to the end of Margaret’s episode TWICE! She and her mom were very difficult to watch!! And I found the 7 or 8 dogs hard to watch laying and crossing all around her blurred-out yet exposed vaginal area. They barked and barked at her PT guy! She needs to get up, clean herself, and put some clothes on. Margaret’s mom is half of her problem!

I tried to watch this objectively, but I have trouble understanding why Margaret has no problem exposing herself to the camera, much less her mother allowing it. It was nauseating to watch. Where in hell do they find these people? I’d like to hear Dr. Paradise on the subject; the look on his face spoke volumes. Not sorry they aren’t continuing.

T LC's My 600-lb Life highlights the weight loss attempts of severely obese individuals across the country as they work with esteemed bariatric surgeon Dr. Now .

The individuals the show features all have one thing in common: They're addicted to food and the feeling it gives them.

During the Season 12 finale, we meet Charles Bridgeman from Everett, Wash., who knows all about grappling with a life-threatening addiction. While food was always a comfort for him, he was addicted to meth for a decade. His addiction prompted his mom and grandma to kick him out, leaving him homeless for quite some time and even resulting in him getting arrested.

Fortunately, Charles went to rehab and got clean a few years back. But this shining achievement was eclipsed by the fact that he seemed to have replaced drugs with food.

When we meet Charles, who is in his early 30s, he is living with his brother, Brad, and sister, Cheyana. Brad's full-time job has become taking care of Charles, who cannot make himself food and can only walk a few steps at a time before needing to rest.

Charles's journey on My 600-lb Life was an interesting one. He and Dr. Now butted heads several times and Charles often didn't follow Dr. Now's directions. Usually, when this happens on the show, the individual ends up gaining weight and getting farther away from their goal.

However, Charles did lose weight, and Dr. Now did end up approving him for weight loss surgery. But Charles had seemingly gotten so comfortable at home with Brad, who kept him on track, that he declined the offer. He said didn't want to move to Houston for the surgery and leave his family, even if it was only temporary.

At the end of the episode, Charles said he wanted to continue his weight loss efforts in Everett and possibly reconsider surgery in the future. That said, where is Charles now? Did he ever get bariatric surgery, and was he able to continue losing weight on his own?

Where is Charles Bridgeman from 'My 600-lb Life' now?

Since his time on My 600-lb Life , Charles appears to be doing very well. According to his Facebook profile , he is still living in Everett, Wash., and has continued to lose weight.

Charles has been spending time with his dogs and recently took them to the dog park, illustrating that he's still making an effort to go outside and do more activities.

However, the biggest update is Charles's current weight. At the beginning of his episode, he was believed to be over 700 pounds. After adopting Dr. Now's diet plan and developing an exercise routine, he was down to 604 pounds by the end of the episode, losing well over 100 pounds on his journey.

That being said, in September 2023, Charles revealed some exciting news: "Omg down to 385," he wrote on Facebook.

It's unclear if this substantial weight loss was strictly from dieting or if Charles did get bariatric surgery, which would likely expedite his weight loss. However, we are glad to hear that Charles hasn't given up and is continuing to lose weight.

After the success of hit reality show “ My 600-lb Life ,” TLC launched its sequel series, “ My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? ” in 2015. The original series introduced audiences to several overweight people who pursued weight loss surgery. Years later, “ Where Are They Now? ” revisits their stories to check in on the individual’s emotional and physical progress. Season 9 of “ My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? ” airs Wednesday, April 24 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC .

About the show:

When Dr. Nowzaradan, known as Dr. Now, first meets his overweight patients, they are searching for drastic change. However, they want more than just physical results. Patients often hope undergoing the high-risk gastric bypass surgery will mean reclaiming their independence, mending relationships and renewing their self-worth, too. “ My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? ” checks in to see if patients got the results they wanted.
