Who are we?

Two unique things you need to know, first, our fleet of awesome customized Jeeps are unforgettable. A ride in one of these is an experience you do not want to miss. Second, our in-depth knowledge of the true pirate history of Nassau will amaze you. We will reveal two mysteries our pirate researcher have uncovered. So come aboard our "Land Ships" and experience a "different" kind of tour.

• Offering 2 tours daily starting at 10 am and 2 pm.
• Our tour focuses on the Pirate and Bahamian history along with visiting 14 different sights and stops throughout Nassau. Those sights and stops include the Queen's Staircase, the Forts, Arawak Cay, Graycliff, the Caves, etc.
• What makes our tour unique is our drivers, each Jeep is driven by one of our Pirate tour guides. This allows the guests to sit back, enjoy the tour and even have a drink without any stress!
• As you know driving in Nassau can be difficult at times due to traffic, insurance requirements, getting lost, etc. Because each one of our Jeeps is driven by its Pirate tour guide, every guest gets the one-on-one attention they deserve.

Adventure Jeep, Beach & Local Lunch - Automatic

Jeep Tour of West Nassau: Get behind the wheel and start your guided tour from downtown Nassau, the capital and cultural hub of The Bahamas. Drive through the colorful shopping district on Bay Street and see highlights, such as the pink-hued House of Assembly. Head west past the lovely Cable Beach and see the JFK Memorial, which recognizes President JFK’s historical trip to The Bahamas in December 1962 where the Nassau Agreement was signed. You will also get a view of the fabulous and sprawling Baha Mar resort that is a famous Bahamian landmark. Nassau Caves: Quick photo stop at the caves of New Providence, home to the Arawak or Lucayan Indians, who were the original inhabitants of the Bahamas. Saunders Beach: Spend free time on one of Nassau’s most inviting beaches; also a popular swimming spot for the locals. Relax and take in the quiet stretch of white sand, lined with tropical trees, and sheltered by an offshore island. Bahamian Lunch: Enjoy a bountiful local lunch at the Bahama Grill, also a favorite restaurant among the locals. What’s Included:

• Bahamian Lunch: BBQ chicken, pork ribs, Bahamian style macaroni and cheese and vegetarian options. Lemonade or water.

Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 5 years. Minimum age to drive – 25 years old with a valid driver’s license. Maximum weight limit – 300 lbs. per person. Maximum height – 6 ft. and 2 in. What to Bring: Beach towel, cash or credit/debit card for additional purchases. Good to Know: Guests will be assigned four per jeep and share driving time. There are three stops on the tour where you will be able to switch drivers. Only automatic jeeps are available. Free time at Saunders Beach is approximately 45 minutes.

Finish up with a visit to Drifters at Da' Fish Fry to taste some local delicacies and learn about the island's cuisine.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund. For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted. Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

What To Expect

1. Nassau Jeep Adventures

Discover Nassau firsthand as we take you on an approximately 3-hour journey of the culture, beauty, and history of the capital of The Bahamas.  The Funky Nassau Tour is an All-Inclusive Adventure that consists of a native lunch, unlimited local soft drinks and beverages, and admission to all attractions and activities. Featured stops and experiences include

• Junkanoo Experience:   Learn about the history of the premier cultural expression of The Bahamas, see costumes and instruments, dress and take photos in Junkanoo costumes and “participate” in a live Junkanoo session.
• Tasty Teas: Indulge in native Bahamian bush teas and natural beverages.  As part of our tours, passengers will be treated to samples of the various teas offered at Tasty Teas.  (1 hour)

2. John Watling's Distillery 

At John Watling's Distillery, tour passengers will be given a guided tour of the distillery including an oral history of the storied grounds, and treated to samples of the rich selection of John Watling's Rums. (30 minutes)

3.  Arawak Cay

Arawak Cay Fish Fry: Experience this local cultural center and indulge in a taste of The Bahamas as locals do. (30 minutes)

(4) Queen's Staircase

Historic Forts: Visit Fort Montague, Fort Fincastle, Fort Nassau & Fort Charlotte Queen's Staircase: Get a panoramic view of Nassau Harbour and the City of Nassau and walk down the  Queen's Staircase also known as the 66 Steps The Caves:  Explore the old caves, learn about their historical significance and ecology and take pictures in the famous shell chair Many other stops along the way! (30 minutes)

Take a unique 3 hour guided island jeep tour of Nassau, the most amazing island of the Bahamas. Tour the highlights of the city’s many historical sights. This is the most exciting and fun way to tour Nassau while getting a feel for the vibrant energy.

Hop aboard the pickup shuttle at your accommodation in either the morning or early afternoon to begin your Island Jeep Tour. Upon arrival at the departure location, you will complete paperwork and sign a waiver after which you will receive a vehicle orientation before departing.

Your tour is guided by an experienced driver and includes stops to and pass historical and cultural sites.

Toward the end of the tour, enjoy a full Bahamian lunch with a beverage at Bahama Grill, one of our Bahamian-owned restaurants. Your tour concludes with the shuttle ride from the departure location back to your accommodation.

Pick-Up Note

Pick-up is 30-45 minute(s) before rental or tour time start from in the front of your hotel lobby or the cruise port. Look out for the company vehicle with the logo on it “Bowcar”

There will only be a 5-minute wait after the time for late comers. If you miss your pickup, please call 557-2223 or email reservations@bowcarbahamas to reschedule for the next available tour or rental.

If you are arriving by Cruise ship, look for the Ground Transportation sign and we are in the Rental Center next to it. Our logo “Bowcar” will be on our window.

Pickup is only from most major hotels and cruise port ONLY.
