What’s The Best Bangkok Pattaya Tour?

There’s so much to see and do in Thailand that you could easily spend weeks there discovering beaches, temples, museums, and palaces. But if you have just a few days and want to take in as much of the country as you can, you’ll be picky about what you visit. Spending a few days in Bangkok is a must because it’s where you’ll enter this amazing country. From here you can visit a number of cities, Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai, Ayutthaya, Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Pattaya, Koh Larn, Koh Chang and many more. Of these, a day trip from Bangkok to Pattaya is a must-do!

Day Tour In Pattaya itinerary

A famous resort town now, Pattaya was a small fishing village. In 1960s it became an alternative to visiting Bangkok. The city got its name from the march of King Taksin or Phraya Tak in 1767. When he got there, he confronted a local leader Nai Klom who surrendered to him without a fight. The place they fought was called Thap Phraya that later changed to Pattaya. 

Now when you Google things to do in Pattaya in one day, you’ll find a lot of cabarets, ladyboy shows, and party streets. But there’s a lot more to this amazing city, and a lot more to do on a one day trip in Pattaya; from visiting temples to getting some sun at beautiful beaches. 

Step 1: Drive down to Pattaya

The distance from Bangkok to Pattaya is 150 km. So it’s a 2-hour drive from Bangkok to Pattaya if you opt for a  taxi or minivan , and about 2.5 hours if you take the bus .

The operators pick you up anywhere from 6 am to 8 am depending on the tour. But if you want to take a Pattaya day trip from Bangkok on your own terms, you also have the option of booking a private guide or doing a self-drive Bangkok Pattaya trip. Here’s what we think is the best Pattaya one day itinerary!

Step 2: Visit Nong Nooch Garden

The first stop of your sightseeing in Pattaya Bangkok will be Nong Nooch Gardens . Covering an area of over 600 acres or 2.4 square kilometers, it’s one of the most beautiful in the world and a must visit on your Pattaya day tour from Bangkok.

The gardens were started by Mr. Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch Tansacha in 1954 and were opened to the public in 1980. Apart from the magnificent array of flowers, the garden has a swimming pool, dinosaur garden, elephant shows, culture shows, boat rides, and a hotel as well. So it’s easy to spend the entirety of your one day tour in Pattaya here.

But since we have just a few hours, just relax for a bit in the garden and see the culture shows before moving on to the next stop of your Pattaya 1 day trip.

Step 3: See the Buddha Engraving at Khao Chi Chan

When looking for what to see in Pattaya in one day that doesn’t take too much tie, Khao Chi Chan is a good option. Popularly known as Buddha Mountain, Khao Chi Chan is a giant 109 m tall golden Buddha that was carved into the mountain using gold leaf in 1995.

There is no entrance fee but there are donation boxes for offerings. A few Thai temples are present at the base of the mountain as well as a small lake with lilies and lotus. Vendors nearby also sell food and drink to hungry travelers but don’t buy too much because at the next you’ll find so much more. 

Step 4: Visit the Pattaya Floating Market

An important stop on your Bangkok to Pattaya one day trip is the Pattaya Floating Market . The entrance fees here are around 200 THB but the tour operator might already include it in their cost (more info here ).

Vendors in boats sell everything from fruits and veggies to street food and spices, from clothes and knickknacks to souvenirs and keepsakes. You can try a lot of local delicacies that will turn into quite a large lunch, buy a lot of items you didn’t want, and definitely not leave here empty-handed.

You can also hire a boat to take you around the market and sample the delicacies or simply shop. Try to choose a Pattaya day trip from Bangkok that already includes the boat in the cost. Although the market is open the entire day, you can complete this part of the Bangkok Pattaya tour package in 2 to 3 hours. 

Step 5: Visit Jom Tiem Beach or Koh Larn Island

Once you’ve had your fill of shopping, we suggest you get some rest and relaxation in the sun. Pattaya Beach might sound like the ideal choice for this, but it isn’t! This long 2.7 km stretch of beach is quite crowded and sometimes dirty. So it can easily be dropped from your Pattaya full day tour.

Taking a Pattaya day trip from Bangkok to Pattaya beach might leave you feeling somewhat dissatisfied. But there is hope. About 5 km from the Pattaya floating market is Jomtien Beach where you can go swimming.

Although resorts and lodgings have started blossoming here, this tranquil 10 km stretch of shoreline is a good escape from the touristy Pattaya Beach. You’ll find less tourists and more Thai people here. Many Thai people do a beach day trip from Bangkok to Jom Tiem on weekends too!

You’ll find the food at Jom Tiem beach is also more flavorful being made to suit Thai tastebuds and not watered down to attract foreigners. 

Now if you spent less time in the floating market earlier on, there’s another option to add to your Pattaya itinerary 1 day. The Koh Larn island is about 7 km from Pattaya and can be reached in 15 minutes by speedboat for 400 Baht and 45 minutes by ferry for 30 Baht.

Surrounded by corals and clear blue waters, the island is a great place for swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling and water sports. You could also go parasailing here or indulge in some delicious seafood delicacies.

Step 6: Watch a Cabaret Show

Song and dance and beautiful ladies singing the classic Western hits will leave you amazed. You’ll find that all the gorgeous actors and singers in the cabaret are actually ladyboys who you can interact with after the show. Be warned though, if they pose with you for a photograph, you’re expected to tip them! There are a few famous choices of cabarets to make a part of your Bangkok and Pattaya itinerary. The famous cabarets that you shouldn’t miss on your Pattaya city tour from Bangkok are the Alcazar Cabaret Show , the Colosseum Show Pattaya or the Tiffany’s Show Pattaya. 

Sometimes we wish there were more hours in a day because when you consider what to do in Pattaya in one day, there are so many things we had to skip, like the Sanctuary of Truth, Mini Siam, Pattaya Art in Paradise , Wat Phra Yai, and even discovering the clubs, pubs, and discos at Walking Street. I go to Disney World at least once a month. Tourists keep missing out on these 5 underrated things.

• I go to Disney World at least once a month, and I've found underrated things most tourists miss. 
• On days when I'm not going to the theme parks , I love playing mini golf with family and friends.
• Wine-tasting classes are great for adults looking for something unique to do at Disney Springs .

I've been going to Disney World for over 30 years, and as an adult, I visit at least once a month.

The company is putting $60 billion into its global theme parks and cruise lines — including significant additions and renovations across the Disney World parks — so there's more to do every visit.

But with all the expansion, most tourists probably miss the underrated activities I've discovered across the property.

Here are some of my favorites.

Playing pickleball is a great way to start the day.

Most people look forward to character breakfasts or getting on their first rides in the morning, but I love hitting the pickleball courts .

There are courts at the Contemporary Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge , Boardwalk Inn, Fort Wilderness Resort, Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort, Yacht Club Resort, and Beach Club Resort.

Hotel guests can check out equipment for free, so I never have to bring paddles or balls in my suitcase.

Another sporty activity I love is playing mini golf at one of the four Disney courses.

Mini golf is a classic vacation activity in my family, and the four courses at Disney World are filled with whimsical touches.

Two courses, Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Fairways, are located near Disney's Swan and Dolphin hotels . The former is full of larger-than-life decor with fun twists and turns, and Fairways is set up more like a real golf course.

The other mini-golf complex, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, is next to Blizzard Beach Water Park . One side is Christmas-themed, and the other is Santa's summer break.

I prefer Winter Summerland because of its nostalgic, kitschy vibes.

Wine-tasting classes can be fun and educational for adults.

My favorite restaurant at Disney World is Wine Bar George at Disney Springs. A few days a month, owner and master sommelier George Miliotes holds a 90-minute blind wine tasting.

Throughout the class, participants learn how to taste wine like a sommelier, and Miliotes has been able to answer just about any wine question I've ever had.

On a recent tasting, I blindly compared a $15 bottle of Argentine white wine to a $300 bottle of French white wine — I liked the cheaper one better.

A day of pampering at the spa is a great mid-trip break.

Until a few years ago, I never realized Disney had full-service spas on its property. Trust me when I say taking a break in the middle of a theme-park vacation is usually greatly needed.

I've been to the Grand Floridian Spa for a leg massage after a long weekend of organized races around the parks via runDisney.

I loved choosing a rock from the indoor crystal garden to inspire the music, lighting, and scents of my treatment room.

Spending the day at the spa inside the Four Seasons Resort Orlando is also a treat.

During my visit to the Disney-affiliated hotel, I had access to an indoor and outdoor relaxation area, a steam room, and a solarium before and after my treatment.

I love going behind the scenes of an iconic Epcot attraction.

One of my favorite Epcot attractions is Living With the Land. The quiet boat ride takes guests through various nature scenes before sailing through working greenhouses.

The ride itself is fun, but I also love taking the Behind the Seeds walking tour.

The one-hour tour isn't included in theme-park admission , but it takes people through the ins and outs of the greenhouses. I've caught an up-close look at the massive fruits and veggies and peered into the fish farm from the edge of the tanks.

You can reserve a spot on the tour online, but I've never had any problems booking it at the park. There's a small booth in the Land Pavilion near the attraction's exit.

Newcastle 1 Brighton 1 – Isak’s off day, Gordon’s influence and now a big trip to Old Trafford

Newcastle ’s final home game of the Premier League season was a meeting with fellow entertainers Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Howe’s side are still seeking European qualification, so falling behind after only 18 minutes was not in the plan, but an equaliser from Sean Longstaff on the stroke of half-time was a deserved response.

It was the fourth time this season that Newcastle had both created and allowed more than 1.0 expected goals in the first half, more than any other Premier League side — and something that speaks to the chaotic nature of their 2023-24 campaign.

There was less cohesion from both sides in the second half, with Newcastle coming closest to a winner via a late Anthony Gordon effort that was ruled out by VAR for offside. All of which makes Wednesday’s trip to Old Trafford an even bigger match.

Here, Chris Waugh and George Caulkin answer some of the key questions from the game.

How badly timed was Alexander Isak ’s off day?

For the first time in the Premier League era, and the first time in the top flight since 1958-59, Newcastle scored in every one of their home matches across a campaign.

The last time they failed to find the back of the net at St James’ Park in the league? That was the final game of last season, a stalemate with Leicester City which guaranteed Champions League qualification.

This 1-1 draw with Brighton does not quite cement their return to Europe for 2024-25, but it did ensure Howe’s side set another record. There have been 49 Newcastle goals across their 19 matches on Tyneside — an average of 2.6 per match — which is the highest in the top flight so far this season.

There have been 17 different Newcastle home league scorers, but Alexander Isak has far and away contributed the most with 14. The Sweden international had found the back of the net in seven successive St James’ matches before this one, yet he endured a frustrating afternoon, making only 13 touches and managing just one shot.

With Callum Wilson injured once more — Howe described his problem as an unspecified “tightness” pre-game — the Newcastle manager must protect Isak for three matches inside eight days and, to much surprise inside the stadium with the scoreline level, the record signing was replaced by Harvey Barnes in the 68th minute.

Despite insisting last weekend he wants to keep Wilson, the need to bring off Isak when a goal is required provides further evidence that bringing in a more durable forward is probably needed this summer.

How important has Anthony Gordon become?

As he has been for so much of this season, Anthony Gordon was Newcastle’s driving force, keeping his team in the match after Brighton’s opener with his relentless tempo-setting and indefatigable running. He is the club’s player of the year for a reason, and this was it.

The England international has provided 10 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League (this was his 50th league appearance for the club), and it was his movement and vision that inspired Newcastle’s equaliser, playing in Elliot Anderson who then cut the ball back for Longstaff.

Longstaff’s campaign has been more gruelling than Gordon’s, playing through injuries to his ankle and foot and occasionally suffering for it. Yet Howe loves him for the off-the-ball work which puts team ahead of self and he has now added regular goalscoring to his armoury.

The 26-year-old’s sixth league goal of the season was his eighth in all competitions — a comfortable finish from the edge of the six-yard box — doubling his total for the rest of his Newcastle career. Grinding through adversity, Longstaff has found a way to improve.

Where does this result leave Newcastle?

This was a bad day for a blip. Not that Newcastle were terrible — they have played much worse this season — but nor were they blissful. And with two games still to play, a draw leaves them relying on their patchy away form to secure a place in Europe.

With fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur beating Burnley , it definitely felt like an opportunity missed, with Newcastle now six points behind them in sixth. Against Brighton, their pressure was unfocused and the final ball lacking.

Next up, it is Manchester United on Wednesday and a game which now feels pivotal. As it stands, Erik ten Hag’s side trail Newcastle — who have never finished above them in the Premier League era — by three points and two positions, but they also now have a game in hand. Newcastle’s final game is at Brentford.

Newcastle have won at Fulham and Burnley since being knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City in mid-March, part of an impressive run of one defeat in eight fixtures — their sole loss was at Crystal Palace — but this result was untimely.

It’s going to go to the wire, but they need to be more clinical than this.

What did Howe say?

Eddie Howe addressed Callum Wilson’s absence and Alexander Isak’s substitution after the game.

“ Alex wasn’t feeling very well yesterday,” Howe said. “So I took the decision to just look after him with the three-game week in mind.

“You could see Alex wasn’t at full tilt today. He just wasn’t feeling quite 100 per cent. You notice when a player of his calibre isn’t quite where he needs to be.”

Howe added that Wilson had been feeling ill and that he hopes the 32-year-old can return in time for Newcastle’s next game, the trip to Manchester United on Wednesday.

Newcastle go for a third win over Manchester United this season, and their second at Old Trafford after November’s 3-0 victory in the Carabao Cup.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's milestone trip to Nigeria in photos

The duke and duchess of sussex have a strong affection for nigeria.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have travelled to Nigeria on a three-day trip to promote the Invictus Games.  The visit comes shortly after the Duke of Sussex concluded a brief visit to London , where he celebrated the 10th anniversary of the sporting tournament. 

The Duke and Duchess landed in Abuja on Friday morning after receiving an invite from Nigeria's chief of defence staff, General Christopher Muse. During their three-day visit, they will meet injured service personnel and various officials. 

The trip marks Meghan and Harry's first visit to Nigeria as a couple. The country holds a special place for them both, with Meghan having spent time with the Nigerian team at the Invictus Games last year and was even bestowed her own Nigerian name Amira Ngozi Lolo .

In 2022, Meghan revealed on her former podcast, Archetypes , that she has Nigerian heritage. She told celebrity interviewer Ziwe: "I just had my genealogy done a couple years ago… [and I'm] Forty-three percent Nigerian."

Saturday evening saw Meghan co-host an event of Women in Leadership with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization. The event aimed to highlight the importance of female leadership and empowerment in driving positive change globally.

During the panel Meghan made the sweetest comment about her children, admitting that she " being a mum has always been a dream of mine".

"And I'm so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children," she joked.

On Saturday afternoon, Harry and Meghan attended a special lunch with the country's chief of defence staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The couple could have passed as newlyweds as they coordinated in all-white outfits, with Meghan looking ethereal in a strapless gown.

The couple were guests of honour at the Sit Out event, seated at chairs that had "Duke" and "Duchess" labels printed on the backs. 

They were presented with gifts and also treated to lively performances, which they appeared to thoroughly enjoy as they faced a stage decked out with red, white, and blue balloons.

Earlier that morning, Harry and Meghan attended an event linked to the Invictus Games – a training session for organisation Nigeria: Unconquered in Asokoro, Abuja – where the couple were invited to watch a sitting volleyball game.

Nigeria: Unconquered is a charity that, like Invictus, uses sport to encourage recovery and rehabilitation in wounded, sick, and injured service personnel to "help them find new purpose".

Harry rocked up in his signature Invictus Game polo shirt and navy trousers, while Meghan looked flawless in a Johanna Ortiz dress.

After about 15 minutes of spectating, Harry took part in the sitting volleyball match and was cheered on by shouts of "Team Harry".

Meghan clapped animatedly for her husband and also got chatting to one little girl, nine-year-old Tiwa Akanbi.

Tiwa later said of her meeting with the Duchess: " She said Prince Harry loves to play volleyball and that he's very good at it.  And she asked me if I play volleyball in my school. And I said yes."

Meghan was presented with a bouquet of red roses from a little girl Royalty Ojeh, six, the daughter of the executive director of Nigeria: Unconquered.

The Duchess removed one of the roses from the posy and handed it back to Royalty, who said of the royal: "She was nice."

Prince Harry and Meghan kicked off their tour with a visit to a kindergarten class at Lightway Academy in Abuja, where children aged up to five danced and sang. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they received a warm welcome, with the couple taking time to chat with students and receiving beaded necklaces as gifts.

They were the centre of attention when they took part in some games.

During the visit here, the couple were mobbed by students, with Meghan happily stopping to take selfies with some students.

Prince Harry and Meghan offered little snippets into their own family: Archie, who turned five earlier this month, and two-year-old Lilibet. The former actress revealed that dancing was their daughter's favourite class, adding: "Maybe it’s all the jumping around."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were officially welcomed to Nigeria by Chief of Defense Staff Christopher Musa during a meeting at the Defence Headquarters in the heart of Abuja.
