We’d booked a table for the midweek entertainment with a meal. The 3 guys doing the rat pack were very entertaining and the meal was lovely. I had the roast duck leg which was perfectly cooked. Generally, for an on site restaurant, it’s good. Not... over priced with a good selection of meals although the menu could do with changing from time to time and/or some daily specials wouldn’t go amiss. More

We stayed on site for 2 weeks and booked here 3 times. The staff are amazing especially Davide who made us feel very welcome and all staff were attentive, smiling and worked very hard. It was a nice touch that they had a separate vegetarian... menu and the menu had dishes not found in other local restaurants. However we had to ask what was vegetarian on arrival as a separate menu was not obvious until we asked about vegetarian food. I particularly liked the vegetarian spinach and Brie wellington which was delicious. The vegetarian paella and veg quesadillas were also amazing. However you have to pay extra for potatoes or fries with your main meal ie wellington which makes your meal cost even more when it is already highly priced. We were here as a couple so paid the extra as eating out is a big part of our holiday and we did enjoy the food. The restaurant is decorated tastefully and the toilets are immaculate and modern. The entertainment is of a high standard and helps create a ambient atmosphere which probably adds to the cost. More

We were staying at the resort for a week during Christmas, the dinner was good but not as good as we expected for the price we paid. The fish still had scales on it, the turkey wings had feathers on them lol. Breakfast was excellent... with plenty of options. Lunch I had a club sandwich and I’ve had much better elsewhere More

Lovely restaurant, amazingly decorated. Lovely atmosphere. Food was amazing. Ordered the chicken kebab and it was well presented and was probably the softest succulent chicken I’ve ever had. Portion size more on the small size (would definitely recommend adding a side order) and quite an... expensive restaurant. Second time reviewing this restaurant and they are still outstanding. Was in Wyndham Residences in Mijas celebrating hubby's birthday. Asked the Safari restaurant if they could organise a birthday cake. They were fabulous! Booked a table for dinner and when we were finished the lights... went out and the staff appeared with a two layer beautifully decorated chocolate cake, complete with candle. The staff and the rest of the restaurant sang Happy Birthday. It could not have gone better. Hubby was surprised and delighted. Thanks again to Alberto and his truly wonderful staff. More

We were 12 people including 7 kids, so we are quite messy to serve… to order the food took some time and the food was of various quality. Some of the dishes: A really tasty carbonara, chicken tandoori that was very good, an amazing duck... leg with superb honey glaze, and finally pork chops with a tasty sauce but almost inedible and dry meat. The service was really good with attentive waiters. We were catered for in an impeccable way for allergies and food requirements. Very very happy with how we were treated. More

Very average for the cost. Burger had half a raw onion on it and no seasoning. Kids menu was 18.95€ which is extortionate compared to other restaurants. I have 3 children so would have been close to 60€. The kids menu needs to be cheaper... but also not charging the same cost for a 3 year old as an 11 year old. Very few children could eat 3 courses at dinner let alone at lunch. More

Had high expectations as had been many times in previous years and it was the highlight of the holiday. Calamari was plentiful but chewy and the crumb was mostly in bottom as it was soggy and had fallen off. Sirloin steak was grisly and tasteless,... chips were not crispy. The vegies & sauce were lovely. The menu is quite limited. On the plus side the cocktails were quite devine and the staff were nice and attentive and the view from the pool side seats where we had our coffee and drambui was lovely. It is very expensive which is palatable if food is excellent but its really not and simply not worth it. Please restore to former glory. More

This is a great restaurant and we always have at least a couple of meals here when we are staying at the Wyndham Resort. The service is always good and the staff are a credit to the Resort Management. It can be a little expensive... compared to what is available off the resort but the live entertainment for a couple of hours in the evening is always good and if you book early evening you have the benefit of “Happy Hour” - well actually two hours 17.00 hrs to 19.00 hrs. We were staying at the Wyndam Residences and this restaurant was easy walking distance. We ate all our meals here and never had a bad one in fact they were all delicious. Chloe found us a seat when we hadn't booked on our first night... and was amazing as was Shannon. Alberto could not have done better with customer service and friendly attention to detail including remembering who we were from the second visit. Fabio and David were also fantastic as was the lady who served us breakfast but I never got her name. All in all I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough for atmosphere, service, customer care, quality of food, choice and basically everything. More

It’s a lovely setting and the service is great. The food is good but overall it’s punching because it has a captive market. You can as good food elsewhere for far less. The live music is great but having walked to the top of a... great hill to get to it, I am not sure it is worth what you will pay even with a CLC member discount. We’ve stayed at Wyndhams Resort 4 times over a few years. Each time we have eaten here, but it’s not the best. Pros are: staff are friendly and welcoming, usually busy with live entertainment, which gives a great ambiance. It’s convenient to get to if... staying on resort, but wouldn’t be my first choice. Cons: food not consistently good or bad, so it’s the luck of the draw! One fish dish we had was pretty dreadful, quite greasy. Yet the duck leg on another occasion was delicious. Pricey for what you get, but that’s probably because they have a captive customer base and can get away with it. Having said all of the above, we spent a pleasant lunchtime there on our day of departure. We are not normally burger eaters, much preferring a plated meal. However, we chose that as a snack before leaving for the airport and it was quite enjoyable. Overall I would say this place is average with above average prices. More

We found this restaurant to be perfect for us , we thought the food {especially lamb chops & chicken hanging kebab ] to be very tasty & cooked to our liking . The staff were so friendly & very good at their jobs , service... brilliant { Alma was especially nice & welcoming } . The atmosphere & decor we loved . Good Spanish restaurant on holiday site open for dinner 6 days (close Wednesdays). Local flavour in family run restaurant with inexpensive quality food well presented.

The Club la Costa folks mentioned this restaurant when we arrived at the resort, but provided little real information until we specifically asked; this is because it is a private restaurant, and they would rather promote their own restaurants within the complex. El Tajo is a relatively up-scale Spanish restaurant, with very good food and wines at a reasonable price. If you are staying that the Club la Costa or Las Farolas Royale, it definitely warrants a visit or two.

You have to eat here! We have been staying at CLC for the last 8 days and we wasted 4 of those days by not eating here. Luckily, we have had 4 amazing dinners and we definitely plan on eating here our last 3 days that we have left here. I always say that it starts with the staff, and this crew doesn't disappoint. We met Poli, Carlos, and Javi in our visits and each one of them is absolutely fantastic! They work so hard and still manage to stay calm and collective. El Tajo is very lucky to have such great people representing their restaurant. We haven't met the kitchen crew, but we do know that they are extremely professional. We haven't had a single bite that hasn't been followed with disbelief. The best chicken that we have ever had! The best rabbit that we have ever had! The best garlic bread that we have ever had! The best mussels that we have ever had! All of their soups are in my top 10! I can keep going...plus I know the next 3 dinners will be just as mind blowing. (The $2.50 glass of wine will also blow your mind!) Thank you Carlos, Javi, Poli, and the kitchen crew for doing such an amazing job!

Had dinner here twice during our stay.It's a very busy place and you really need to book. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is very good ,we had the Prawn and Monk Fish skewer on both nights the best we have had for some time. My only slight quibble is that it's not a very relaxing experience as it is so busy the waiters are racing round like maniacs !

First visit to this restaurant and won't be the last. I can highly recommend particularly if you are coeliac. The roll they served with my soup was warm and fresh and sealed in a package to avoid cross contamination. Good choices on the menu and reasonably priced. Excellent service from attentive waiters.
