Onett with his wreath during Beesmas 2018.

  • He and the Mysterious Figure are the only NPCs of the robloxian-species.
  • He is the only quest giver whose appearance changes during every event.
  • There is a Statue of Onett on top of the 6th Hive (from Left to Right) with the Honey Dipper and the Port-O-Hive as a backpack, while the Onett NPC has a Porcelain Dipper , Porcelain Port-O-Hive , Mondo Belt Bag , Riley Guard , Bucko Guard , Beekeeper's Mask , and Beekeeper's Boots .
  • The requirement was later reduced to 2,500 haste tokens.
  • The total amount of Pollen required to complete his quests is 3,673,750,000 pollen and the total amount of Goo required to complete the quests is 136,000,000 goo.
  • The amount of pollen in Onett's backpack (32318) represents the date when Bee Swarm Simulator was first released (on March 23rd, 2018).
  • Ever since Gummy Bear left, Onett's and Science Bear's quests were the only ones that included collecting goo. However, the 11/25/2018 update introduced Gifted Bucko Bee and Gifted Riley Bee , requiring goo for their "Clean-up," "Goo," and "Medley" quests. During all three of the Beesmas Events , Bee Bear also required goo in certain quests, and during the Egg Hunt 2019 Event, Polar Bear also required collecting goo for his "Egg Hunt: Polar Bear" quest. Spirit Bear also has goo requirements for her quests.
  • He and Panda Bear were the first quest givers to give quests that required defeating Tunnel Bear , with Science Bear being the last.
  • In Onett's backpack, it says that its capacity is the equivalent of 500k. However, considering the items he wears, it should be about at least 900k of total capacity.
  • If counting event quests, he is surpassed by Bubble Bee Man , who gives 4 of them and Stick Bug , who gives only 3.
  • Onett is currently the fourth to last quest giver to be accessed in the game, the third to last being Bubble Bee Man, the second to last being Spirit Bear , and the last being Dapper Bear .
  • During the Beesmas events 2018-2021, Onett wore a wreath around his head.
  • During Beesmas 2022, Onett wore a robot mask and a cog on his belt.
  • During the Beesmas event, once the player finished all of their quests, the player could give him a Present . However, there was a temporary glitch where it wasn't possible to give him one.
  • Onett was also the only NPC who could have been given a present to who was on Bee Bear's "naughty" list.
  • If the player had finished all of his quests during the Beesmas 2019 event, Onett stated that he's been "twisting the lid the wrong way for months."
  • He is one of the two quest givers who did not give an Egg Hunt quest, the other being Honey Bee .
  • During the Egg Hunt 2020 Event, Onett wore the Swarming Egg of The Hive, which given to players when they completed the egg hunt with Sun Bear .
  • When you give Onett a present in Beesmas 2020, the present you gave him includes a collection of Korean skin care products. The detail that states the products are specifically Korean refers to how Korean skin care products are generally very high-quality.
  • Onett the quest giver and the statue are the only NPCs with a bag.
  • During Beesmas 2020, there was a temporary glitch which allowed players to claim the Honeyday Event buff and other stuff from Onett by talking to him (or rejoining the game) multiple times. This glitch was soon fixed after a shutdown.
  • When interacting with Onett while still having the Star Journey 1 quest, the text at the end of the dialogue is a riddle for one of the codes that would give a 7-Pronged Cog , used to craft the Strange Goggles in the Ready Player Two event.

Star Journey: A Unique Model of the Mind

  • What is Star Journey?

Star Journey is a practical and approachable tool for self-development, based on the relationship between the self and its universe. At its core, the system is a metaphor for mankind’s inner abilities and mental framework. The Star Journey model has two main components: its Symbol Cards and Circle Pattern.

Star Journey is a practical and approachable tool for self-development, based on the relationship between the self and its universe. At its core, the system is a metaphor for humankind’s inner abilities and mental framework. The Star Journey model has two main components: its Symbol Cards and Circle Pattern.

Star Journey’s Symbol Cards are its first component, which allow you to tap into your subconscious and reach inner awareness by interpreting archetypal symbols. The images on each card are recurrent images and themes in all of our lives.

The Symbol Cards

Symbol cards.

The way Star Journey allows you to reach this awareness is similar to how the famous Rorschach inkblot tests worked.  Each inkblot could evoke different meanings and responses depending on the viewer. For instance, the example shown here from the actual Rorschach test can either be seen as two elephants, a clown’s face, or something altogether different.

In the same way, the archetypes on the Symbol Cards help us explore thoughts, associations, and feelings related to real life situations through our own unique perspectives.  A central layer of interpretation is found through each card’s image, as well as a related key phrase at the top referring to the theme it addresses, and additional key words below. Both the images and words help elicit deeper meaning of how the symbol is meaningful in your own life. For example, consider the Block card:

Key Phrase: This phrase sums up what the symbol is about. The Block indicates The Challenge of Obstacles – the focus of this card is simply how you deal with having something that crops up in your way.

Key Words: These key words represent different perspectives one can have of the meaning of the Symbol. For example the Block’s key words are Obstacle,

Pattern – Foundation, Building. You could see drawing this card to mean there is an obstacle in your way, or that there is a building block or true foundation in front of you to help you move forward. Icon: Found below each card’s image is the colored icon that represents which Level of Consciousness the Symbol is part of.

  • Levels of Consciousness

Levels of Consciousness are another, less obvious layer of a card’s meaning, and what truly sets Star Journey apart from other card systems.

Just as chakras represent the energy centers of the body that start at the ground and continue upward toward the sky, the Seven Levels of Consciousness are layered within you, starting deep inside and moving outward.

In addition to a colored icon, every Level is represented by its border color as well.

Listed from the outermost, external human experiences to the innermost fulfillment, these Levels are:

Star: Archetypal energy State: Physical condition Star Cross: Self-expression Gift: Inner abilities Key: Challenges to realization Gate: Attitudes and approaches Sign: Types of fulfillment and satisfaction

As you’ll start to notice, the Level of Consciousness is also reflected in a card’s Key Phrase. The Block, for example, is part of the Key level – all cards at that level are Challenges that lead to Realization, with the Block being “The Challenge of Obstacles.”

The circle pattern.

This second component of the Star Journey model allows for the deepest interpretation of Star Journey Symbols. Connection is the driving force of this map, and interpreting these connections will enhance your understanding of the Symbols.

The geometric Circle Pattern represents the universal, 12-step Cycle of Growth. It also visually shows the Levels of Consciousness in rings of dotted colors, but goes well beyond that. Every Symbol has a corresponding place on the map, indicated by a number at the top of each card. When charted and seen within the context of their position on the Circle, the connections between them can be seen, reflecting the relationship between different parts of ourselves.

Water symbolizes cleansing and nourishment, showcasing her balance of inner and outer worlds. Vulnerably naked, she exudes authenticity.

The stars hold profound significance, embodying hope, guidance, and inspiration. The Major Arcana number 17 is associated with the large star. Money and Finances (reversed star tarot card)

In matters of money and finances, the reversed Tarot The Star card paints a picture of a poor and challenging financial situation. Scarcity may prevail, leaving you struggling to meet your needs and desires. Greed and selfishness might drive a tendency to hoard wealth from those in need. Unexpected loss of money or assets may occur, and setbacks may impact financial stability. Difficulties such as debt, bankruptcy, fraud, or theft may pose further challenges.

For those facing financial difficulties, the reversed Tarot The Star card suggests overcoming them will be an arduous process. A negative attitude and lost faith in improving the situation may hinder progress. Resourcefulness and creativity may be lacking, impeding the discovery of means to increase earnings or savings. Financial assistance or support from caring individuals may not be readily available or may be ignored. Missed opportunities for new sources of income or investment may hinder financial growth. A reevaluation of financial strategies and receptiveness to help are essential.

Health and Well-Being (reversed star tarot card)

Symbolism of the Stars

Stars can symbolize humanity, divinity, hope, faith. guidance, god, excellence, motivation, magic, fame, and life. They’re symbols in movies and religion, but also appear to us in dreams, potentially as a sign that you should have more hope and faith. Below, I’ll outline all 11 symbols of stars and explain each one.

Symbolism of the Stars

See also: The symbolism of the moon , morning star symbolism , and star metaphors .

Start Symbolism – 11 Meanings

1. humanity.

Something you may not have heard before is the belief that humans are actually made from stars. From a purely scientific viewpoint, humans are made up of all of the elements that were created by a star (or specifically, a supernova).

This is not just a belief held by modern science either, Pythagoras is a well known Greek philosopher from c. 500 BC who used the 5-pointed star (pentagram) as a symbol which was later used to symbolize humankind. The five points represent earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit.

The earth is also considered to symbolize humanity.

2. Divinity

Stars are symbolic of divinity with a belief being that the countless stars we see in the distance are fallen angels cast out from heaven. For this reason, stars can often be seen referenced as divine light. The Christian Bible can also be seen to reference angels as symbols of stars.

They are seen to give enlightenment and guidance to those that seek it. Native Americans have initiations that require you to take meaning from the stars and use them as guidance on a spiritual journey.

Stars are also seen as a symbol of hope and many different forms. The most notable of which is the good fortune you are said to receive when seeing a shooting star. This has led to the common act of making a wish upon a shooting star.

People will wish upon a star to realize their deepest desires, wants, and needs and a star provides hope for many. Seeing a shooting star is also said to be of good luck and is another instance where wishes are made.

The star is one of the strongest symbols in multiple religions and faiths, most notably the Star of David is the symbol of the Jewish faith. This is a sign of divine protection.

A 4-pointed star is also synonymous with the cross in Christianity and is also used to represent the star of Bethlehem. Again, this is a sign of divine powers and is used to symbolize guidance for those that choose to follow it.

Stars are also a powerful symbol in faith as they are worshiped as gods. This is something we cover in more detail shortly, but there is a very strong connection between stars and faith in a lot of religions, it is not uncommon for people to worship the stars as though they are gods.

5. Guidance

Stars have often been used as a guiding path for people, long before we had access to a GPS, maps, or a compass. Often referred to as a guiding light, a fixed star was something to guide travelers to their destination.

Merchants that would cross deserts to trade with foreign lands would use a star to guide them and this skill led to merchants being seen in high regard as they could navigate the desert despite being surrounded by vast areas of nothing.

The sun is a star, any distant star that we see is the equivalent of the sun that provides life for our earth. In early religions and cultures, many people would worship the sun as a god that brings light, and therefore stars can often be symbolic of a god.

This is something also referred to as a solar deity , you’ll find a very extensive list of these solar deities that are worshipped around the world. Hindu, Chinese, and Egyptian mythology are just a few cultures that reference the stars to be gods or goddesses.

In Egyptian mythology, for example, the sun god Ra is considered to be one of the most powerful of the gods and this is symbolic of the vast power that stars possess.

7. Quality or Excellence

Stars are also seen as a sign of excellence or quality. From an early age, children are rewarded with gold stars as a sign of good behavior or a particular achievement. They are seen as behavior modifiers and rewards.

It’s not just children who see stars as being symbolic for achievement, stars are also used as a grading system to demonstrate quality for products or services. A star-based rating system is usually a symbol of quality.

A 5* hotel, 5* review, or 5* ratings are all used by businesses and service providers to demonstrate quality and large online retailers like Amazon use this rating system for products to build trust and help customers differentiate between poor and high-quality products.

8. Motivation

We mentioned above how stars are used as a symbol for excellence but they are also a source of motivation for many. While children often want to earn a gold star for their work, this theme continues into teen years and then into adulthood in the form of motivation.

Some well-known quotes like “reach for the stars” and “follow your star” are inspirational and motivational. The stars are symbolic of reaching for heights that could otherwise be thought of as unobtainable by those with narrow-minded views.

Those who seek fame, glory, or notable achievement are said to be chasing stars and this is often symbolic for chasing an unattainable goal or something that cannot be reached/achieved.

While this may seem like a negative viewpoint, it’s something that fuels the ambition of many. Achieving something that is thought of to be something out of reach (like the stars) acts as a powerful motivation for many people and provides spiritual energy that propels them to dream big.

Stars are often aligned with magic and their symbols appear frequently in magical references. Wizards can be seen with stars on their robes whilst “stardust” is often a term used as an ingredient in potion-making.

It’s not only magic in the form of fantasy or science fiction that uses a star for symbolization but also a ritual. Stars are often used to symbolize satanic rituals and are strong symbols in satanic cults.

An upside-down pentagram is the most common symbol used to represent satan and is seen as a tunnel or portal between our world and the underworld.

Stars are also used to symbolize fame and fortune. Hollywood is the biggest advocate of this with movie stars. The star is symbolic of an actor/actress’s level of fame and achievement. “A star is born” is a common phrase to indicate that a person is destined for fame or greatness in a public manner.

This is true in many endeavors of life which include sports stars, movie stars and you’ll even see reference to people known as “superstars”. Those that are so well known and accomplished in their field often have this title as it symbolizes someone excelling and reaching the top of their chosen field.

This is one of the most important symbolisms of a star and we’ve therefore left it as the last point on this list. The sun provides and sustains life on earth and stars possess so much power that they can sustain life or take it away in an instant.

The sun sustains life on earth by providing heat and energy for plants which creates a chain reaction of events (including the production of oxygen that we breathe) ultimately supporting life on earth. Without the sun, the earth would be like the countless other planets in the universe that are cold, desolate, and lifeless.

We might look to stars for hope, motivation or to make wishes/miracles and many justify this by saying that our own star already has a track record of creating miracles, mainly the miracle of life!

Almost everyone reading this article should be able to relate to one of the symbolisms of stars. Whether this is on a deeper level of worship and hope or whether you have simply bought something online and used a star to rate it.

Stars have a very powerful influence over our lives, it can be easy to forget this sometimes. From sustaining life on earth, acting as a spiritual or physical guide, and providing hope and motivation, stars have more influence than we realize and we are still yet to discover their deepest meanings.

The Symbolism of Stars: Spiritual and Deeper Meanings

an image of many fabricated floating stars with glitter.

Article Contents

The symbolism of stars has captivated humans for millennia, inspiring us to gaze upon the night sky and question how we are connected to this mystery surrounding us, the cosmos.

Throughout history, for some, it’s the divine, the infinite, inspiring art, literature, and design, representing a symbol of hope for humanity.

Whether you’re a stargazer, a designer, or a seeker of spiritual meaning, understanding the symbolism of stars can offer a deeper appreciation of the mystique and beauty of our universe.

Symbol of Life

Our ancestors took notice of the stars. Points of light sprinkled across the night sky beyond their reach, both physically and intellectually.

Gazing upon these familiar lights at the end of the day placed wonder in their minds and evoked a need for satisfaction from the explainable.

Many cultures revered and worshiped the stars, each passing down their unique story describing the origins of these celestial bodies of light, trying to make sense of it all.

We Come From Stars

As we know, our Sun, a star, provides warmth and energy, supporting life here on Earth. The ancient Egyptians and Aztecs, civilizations from different parts of the world, sensed this connection of life-giving properties and built their belief systems upon the foundation of the Sun as a symbol of the creator, a symbol of life .

The Sun nourishes life. A picture of a sunrise with a person's hands framing the Sun.

The Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, believed the soul was connected to the stars in a way he named Musica Universalis or Music of the Spheres .

It was thought the human soul originated from the stars descending to Earth to learn important lessons while on this physical plane of existence. Each star had its unique vibration of sound only audible to the soul, creating a golden ratio resulting in universal harmony.

Science and astronomy have deciphered that the very matter within us and all other living organisms come from the remnants of giant red stars. Upon their demise, at the end of their unimaginable span of existence, these red stars release elements, the building blocks of life, scattered with a bang throughout the cosmos.

Red Stars seed the universe with life building molecules. A picture of a Red Star within a gas cloud in space.

As the famed writer and poet Walt Whitman proclaimed, “I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars.” He, too, sensed that feeling of significance so many before him felt. He was spot-on more than he ever realized. The molecules within us were forged by these red giants.

What the ancients perceived and got right was the importance of stars. We come from stars.

Symbol of the Divine

In ancient times for many cultures, the stars, Sun, and Moon were woven into the fabric of spirituality, symbolizing the divine power . Each culture and era had its own stories and beliefs with different meanings.

The gods are among the Stars, Sun and Moon.An image of zodiac signs in a circle surrounded by gold stars/

The Spirit World

The Maories, indigenous people of New Zealand, believed each star was the soul of one of their war heroes, and the brightness of the star related to how many enemies the hero had slain in battle.

Chaldeans who lived in the area of present-day Iraq and Syria believed the stars to be lamps managed in the sky by angels.

The ancient Greece philosopher Homer believed the stars moved across the sky in chariots of the gods.

A shooting star racing across the night sky within view of a castle. It was ancient times these events became known for possible good luck and making wishes to the gods.

A falling or shooting star was a reminder the gods were watching from above, presenting a good time for making a wish and asking for their help or forgiveness. It was the beginning of shooting stars becoming a symbol of good luck or fortune. Depending on the earthly followers’ actions, these spirits of the other world could give favor or do harm.

Shooting stars, although not actual stars but meteors, were also seen by the ancient Greeks and Romans as messengers sent by the gods , the foreboding of an event soon to happen, possibly bad or good.

A Pentacle. A picture of a pentacle drawn on a wooden floor with a candle in the center.

The pentagram, a five-point star, once used by the ancient Babylonians as a charm warding off evil spirits, later became adopted by the early Christians. Many symbols over the centuries were borrowed from other groups and altered, creating their own new meanings. The occultists often did this with Judeo-Christian symbols attributing some form of magic or spiritualism. The Wiccans’ and Druids’ version of the pentagram usually appears within a circle referred to as a pentacle . It is the star symbol most often referenced in magic . Its five points represent “Spirit,” “Water,” “Fire,” “Earth,” and “Air.”

It has only been in the past few centuries that the pentacle has become associated with evil due to the adoption of the modern occult, Satanists, and most recently sensationalized by Hollywood.

There have been many variations of stars throughout history associated with all aspects of spirituality, good and evil.

Symbol of Navigation

The ancients not only looked to the stars for spiritual guidance but learned they could count on certain stars to help them navigate from one place to the next. Stars like the North and Evening Star became a traveler’s beacon guiding them to the end of their journey, by water or land.

A guiding star of Navigation. A picture of a bright star in the night sky.

Finding Our Way In The World

The North Star, also known as Polaris, is not the brightest in the night sky, but its importance comes from its position. It sits in the sky, steadily tracking the north pole through the night, while the Evening Star and others move across the horizon, helping sailors or travelers follow their journey’s required direction.

The brightest star appearing in the night sky is Sirius, a star of importance for many, especially the Egyptians. After the Moon, the 2nd brightest object in the night sky is the Evening Star, also known as the Morning Star. It is not actually a star but the planet Venus.

During the era of slavery in the United States, the North Star became a symbol of hope and freedom for the enslaved people as they relied on this white star to help navigate their escape through the many nights before reaching the northern states and Canada.

Stars have become symbols of leadership, guidance, protection, and trust.

Most cultures incorporated celestial elements to symbolize or portray important events within their spectrum of faith, their religion. In all cuneiform and hieroglyphic languages, the symbol for god was a star .

Symbols of The Faithful

Let’s look at a few examples of the many symbols of stars associated with religions.

For the Christians, two stars stand out with religious significance, the Star of Bethlehem, also known as the Christmas Star, and the five-pointed star, a Pentagram, with each point of the star symbolizing one of the five crucifixion wounds of Jesus Christ.

The Star of Bethlehem

The Star of Bethlehem, a guiding light that led the Magi to Jerusalem in search of the newborn baby, Jesus, the son of God, not only symbolizes the birth of Jesus Christ but both new beginnings and renewed hope .

The Pentagram

The Pentagram, a five-pointed star, symbolizes to Christians the five wounds Jesus endured while crucified on the cross . One wound for each hand or wrist, one for each foot, and the last due to the Lance of Longinus piercing his side. The 5 points of the star represent a total of five wounds.

Judaism’s most prominent symbols of stars are Solomon’s Seal and the Star of David. Both are related in designed and inspired by earlier cultures of the middle east.

The Seal of Solomon

The Seal of Solomon is depicted as either a six-pointed star (hexagram) or a five-pointed star pentagram. The signet ring belonging to the Israelite King Solomon has meaning in Judaism, Islam, and Western occultism. It symbolizes power and magic as it allowed Solomon to speak with animals and command the supernatural. It was the precursor design to the Star of David.

The Star of David

The Star of David, an important symbol of the Jewish faith, is a six-pointed star shaped from two equilateral triangles, one triangle placed over an upside-down triangle, also known as a hexagram. The ancient Muslims and Kabbalistic Jews created its design. It was later adopted by the Jewish people in the 17th century representing the shield of the Israel King David, symbolizing strength and protection . It now adorns the flag of Israel.

Hinduism has many symbols of stars. Let’s look at one of the most well known which is an eight pointed star.

The Star of Lakshmi

The Star of Lakshmi comes from the Hindu religion symbolizing the goddess of Lakshmi. It is a symbol of prosperity, both material and spiritual .

Symbol of Inspiration

Stars have inspired the creative side of human history since our ancestors first used a piece of burnt wood on a cave wall, drawing scenes they had lived and witnessed. Writers, poets, painters, and in more recent history, photographers have all tried to capture the splendor and mystery evoked by the stars.

Creations of Art

Vincent van Gogh, a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter during the late 19th century, was inspired by the twilight view from his bedroom window while receiving care at a mental asylum in France. The result was the infamous “Starry Night” painting.

Classical writers such as Shakespeare or the 19th Century’s Henry W. Longfellow borrowed stars for their metaphors and similes, connecting their poetry and writings with familiar skyscapes and symbolic meanings for their readers.

“Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.” ― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Love and Romance

A starry sky has a way of setting the mood for romance, as depicted in this Van Gogh painting of a couple enjoying the stars and city lights while strolling along the river Rhone ( ‘Starry Night over the Rhone. ‘) Stars symbolize love and romance as people yearn to find and share that special connection with someone.

Symbol of Destiny

Astrology has mostly remained the same today since the Babylonians first brought it to the Ancient Greeks. The twelve zodiac signs are based on the positions and motions of stars and other celestial bodies in the heavens. Some believe these otherworldly movements guide, shape, and influence our present and future.

“Written in the Stars”

The common phrase “It’s written in the stars” was born from the thought our fate is predetermined and can be foretold by reading charts associated with astrology, something our will alone cannot change.

Writers like Shakespeare have used similar thoughts and descriptions, such as “star-crossed lovers,” meaning the universe has a different path set for them, a different destiny other than the one they desire.

Birthday Stars

A symbolic star born in modern times is a birthday star . Once astronomy had deciphered the speed of light and the amount of time it takes to reach Earth, a meaningful connection was made as one’s life journey intersects the light of a star. A birthday star is a star whose light has taken as many years to reach Earth as the number of years in your life. Stars symbolize destiny .

Symbol of Achievement

Distance in space is hard to comprehend. Stars can appear much closer than they actually are. In reality, the light from the nearest star to Earth, Proxima Centauri, takes 4.2 years to reach our eyes. Stars have always seemed unobtainable. If we could only get there, it must be heavenly. Hence the term “Reach for the stars!”

“Reach for the Stars”

Gold stars symbolize achievement, excellence , and sacrifice awarded for reaching the highest and most difficult positions and accomplishments. People may be described in their industry as “They are a star” at the pinnacle of their industry. Cultures award gold stars in academics, the military, and even showbiz success will warrant a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

  • In paganism, it represents Earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit .
  • In Christianity, it is known to symbolize the five holy wounds Jesus acquired during the crucifixion.
  • It’s a symbol of the Five Pillars of Islam and, in other cultures, a symbol of achievement, power, success, and fame.

6-Pointed-Star

The six-pointed star, a hexagram, is most recognizable as the Star of David but there are many other cultures who have used the hexagram design such as the Buddhists Star of Peace . In the 1970’s the Star of Life became a universal symbol of “medical Emergency Services”.

The eight-pointed star, an octagram, is tied to the Greek and Roman Goddess Venus. To the Chinese, it represents life, from birth to death. For the Native Americans it symbolizes hope, protection and guidance.

Star Journey

I began my astrology & astronomy journey and life’s work when I was around 4 years of age.

My celestial awareness began with a few sources such as the Time-Life books from the 80’s that contained the pictures of the Planets transmitted to us from the Voyager spacecraft. Voyager relayed back to Earth the most astounding images that we have ever seen of the planets up until that time. Well, from that moment on, the Planets had grabbed me so to speak. I quickly started drawing on the walls what I saw in the books. Asking for help from my parents and grandmother, I drew with as much precision as possible all of the planets, nebulae, star clusters and other stellar objects that I could find on anything that they would allow me to. The wall calendar in the kitchen was another curiosity depicting little symbols of the Moon’s various phases along with days that were good for planting and fishing. I remember crying because I could not take my planet cut outs with me—you may recall colorful cardboard displays of the planets that teachers sometimes display in the elementary school science classroom.

nepal2

Around that time I had more than a few tragedy’s with my brother’s severe accident and head injury and the passing of my aunt, uncle, father and a few close relatives–all within 4 years of each other. They passed away young and these events led me away to do other things; I had to change my focus, so I followed another dream and enlisted in the U.S. Marines. Astrology was there most certainly working in my mind but it had to stay in the background, keeping the astrology and metaphysical to myself.

2008 was a pivotal year for my love and passion for all things astrological. I slowly broke out all of my old astrology books and began reading and re learning. All of the old ideas and concepts that I had previously practiced resurfaced but with a new understanding and appreciation. I began to see that there was no way that anyone could possibly learn and apply the entirety of known human knowledge of astrology in a lifetime. I discovered the meaning of “we don’t know what we don’t know,” and to always ask the important questions. I also realized that I had barely scratched the surface of being able to, with any real competency, work with someone as an astrology professional. In essence, I had work to do. I soon attended many classes, workshops and conferences and started reading even more. I bought the astrology calculation program Solar Fire Gold (and later Sirius among others) and started working with it after much prodding from a few other astrologers. Soon, I began to actually meet other astrologers and this was a revelation in and of itself as I learned much from them. I gave my first astrology presentation in early 2010 and in late 2011, I launched this site. (And, in 2014, I earned NCGR-PAA Level II–A Very Special Thanks to Donna Henson)

Many of us begin our astrological journey alone never realizing that there are others out there practicing the art and celestial science/language of astrology. Again, we simply don’t know what we don’t know.

So, what is astrology?

For me, astrology is a love, a language, a passion, an experience, a science, an art, an understanding and above all—a mystery. That is the best part, simply going outside on a cloudless night and looking up as many of us have done before over the ages. Watching the Full Moon coming over the eastern horizon at sunset—what does it mean and how does it feel? Through looking out at stellar objects we are at the same time inviting ourselves to look IN, which is a mystery as well, perhaps even greater than we will ever know.

While I am rather eclectic in the methods and techniques that I employ in my astrological work you are welcome to join me in the pursuit of the mysteries of astrology of all kinds.

This is a site for Lovers of Astrology, the Celestial Art, Science and Language of the Stars.

Thank you and Many Blessings

The Symbolism of Falling Stars

As the night sky twinkles with countless stars, there is something particularly captivating about witnessing a falling star. These celestial phenomena , also known as shooting stars or meteors, have fascinated humans for centuries, evoking a sense of wonder and awe . However, beyond their breathtaking beauty, falling stars hold a deeper spiritual significance that has intrigued seekers of spiritual truth throughout history.

Ancient Beliefs and Mythology

In ancient times , falling stars were often seen as omens or signs from the gods. Many cultures believed that these celestial events carried messages from the divine realm. In Greek mythology, for example, shooting stars were considered to be the manifestation of the gods’ attention or a celestial being descending to Earth. Their appearance was seen as a direct communication between mortals and the heavens.

Spiritual Interpretations

In the realm of spirituality , falling stars are seen as symbolic of various concepts and experiences. Some interpret them as reminders of the impermanence of life , representing the fleeting nature of existence. Just as a shooting star blazes across the sky for a brief moment before vanishing, so too does life move swiftly, urging us to cherish each precious moment.

Others view falling stars as symbols of hope , an encouragement to pursue our dreams and aspirations. The sight of a falling star can serve as a reminder to keep our desires alive and to believe in the power of manifestation . It is a sign that the universe is listening , ready to grant our heartfelt wishes if we dare to envision and pursue them.

Personal Significance

Beyond the collective symbolism, falling stars can also hold personal significance for individuals. Many people believe that witnessing a falling star is a spiritual message tailored specifically for them. These celestial events are seen as personal signs from the universe, indicating that one is on the right path or that a significant change or opportunity is on the horizon.

The interpretation of a falling star’s meaning is highly subjective and can vary depending on an individual’s beliefs and experiences. Some may see it as a sign of encouragement during times of struggle or a reminder of the presence of loved ones who have passed away. Others may interpret it as a gentle nudge to reassess one’s goals and dreams or to embrace the unexpected with open arms.

No matter the interpretation, the experience of witnessing a falling star often leaves a profound impact on individuals, inspiring introspection and reflection on their spiritual journey and connection to the universe.

In the next section, we will delve deeper into interpreting the spiritual meaning behind falling stars, exploring how they can serve as signs from the universe , messages from spirit guides, and catalysts for manifestation and transformation.

Continue reading: Interpreting the Spiritual Meaning

Interpreting the Spiritual Meaning

When it comes to interpreting the spiritual meaning behind a falling star, there are several aspects to consider. These celestial phenomena are often seen as signs from the universe , carrying messages from the divine realm. Additionally, many believe that falling stars can serve as a means of communication with spirit guides and are closely tied to manifestation and transformation .

Signs from the Universe

For those on a spiritual journey, the sight of a falling star can be a powerful experience. It is often seen as a sign from the universe , a gentle reminder that there is a greater force at work in the cosmos. The moment a falling star streaks across the night sky, it captures our attention and sparks a sense of wonder. In that fleeting moment, we are reminded of the vastness of the universe and our place within it.

Signs from the universe are believed to be messages or guidance from the divine, offering insights or affirmations to those who are open to receiving them. Just as each falling star is unique, so too are the messages they carry. It is up to the individual to interpret these signs and discern their personal significance.

Messages from Spirit Guides

In various spiritual traditions, it is believed that each person has a team of spirit guides who offer guidance and support throughout their journey. These guides can communicate with us in many ways, including through the appearance of falling stars. When we witness a falling star, it is often seen as a direct message from our guides, a gentle nudge to pay attention or a reassurance that we are on the right path.

Messages from spirit guides can be deeply personal and meaningful, tailored to the individual’s unique circumstances and spiritual growth. Some may experience a sense of clarity or intuition after witnessing a falling star, while others may receive specific insights or guidance related to their current life situation. It is essential to cultivate awareness and openness to receive these messages and discern their true meaning.

Manifestation and Transformation

Falling stars are also believed to be closely tied to the processes of manifestation and transformation . In spiritual practices such as manifestation, individuals focus their intentions and desires, aligning their energy with the universe’s creative forces. Falling stars are seen as potent symbols of this process, representing the moment when dreams and desires become tangible realities.

Moreover, falling stars are often associated with transformation and the ability to leave behind what no longer serves us. Just as a falling star burns brightly and then fades away, we can use this metaphor to release old patterns, beliefs, or attachments that hinder our spiritual growth. Witnessing a falling star can serve as a reminder to let go of the past and embrace the transformative power of the present moment.

In conclusion, interpreting the spiritual meaning of a falling star involves recognizing them as signs from the universe , embracing the messages from our spirit guides , and understanding their connection to manifestation and transformation . By paying attention to these celestial phenomena and reflecting on their personal significance, seekers of spiritual truth can deepen their understanding of the interconnectedness between the physical and spiritual realms.

Seeking Spiritual Truth

In the pursuit of spiritual truth, there are various practices that can help individuals establish a deeper connection with the divine. Reversed Star Meaning

When the Star card is reversed, it means that you are feeling as though everything has turned against you. The challenges that you would normally see as exciting seem instead to make you feel as though you cannot overcome them. You have lost faith in something, whether inside yourself or with something you normally find dear.

Without hope, without faith, we cannot find the motivation to progress forward in the challenges that we face. Where in your life are you feeling hopeless? In what ways do you already feel defeated? And how does that affect your actions? The star reversed asks us to nurture our sense of hope and positive energy to help propel our actions with joy instead of fear.

Reversed Star Tarot Love Meaning

Self doubt and a loss of faith is clouding your judgement with the reversed Star’s appearance. Are you suffering from a loss of confidence? Do you pick at your own flaws with excessive harshness? What is making you feel unworthy of love? Others can sense this with you, and this can make you feel even worse while reinforcing your negative feelings about yourself. It is important now to remember all the wonderful things about yourself, so that you can see yourself as a worthy partner. The doubt and loss of faith can also apply not just to yourself, but also to your feelings about love in general. If you have been single for a while, cynicism may make you believe that love only creates pain, or is an illusion that is not worth pursuing, when it is actually an attitude problem that pushes others away.

Career Meaning - Reversed Star

With the reversed Star, it may be likely that your negativity is having an effect on your work. You may no longer feel enthusiastic or creative, because you can only see things in a pessimistic manner. Have your hopes not panned out? Have you given up faith that things can get better? When we despair, we make a bad situation worse, and the will to keep going can be snuffed out. It is likely that though things may be tense right now, it isn’t as bad as you seem to make of it. A change in your approach, perspective or attitude may be all that is needed in order to give you motivation to make positive changes.

Finances Meaning - Reversed Star

If you have been struggling with finances, the reversed Star can suggest that not all hope is lost, but you may have already given up. There are likely things you can still do now to change your situation, but only if you can muster up the positivity to see things in a new light, and take action. Opening your heart to a more positive outlook can also open your eyes to opportunity.

Where does Florida rank in 'hardest to understand states' slang survey?

In the October 2023 Preply survey measuring the “hardest to understand states,” Florida ranked in the Top 20. The phrase "jiffy feet," created in and mostly used around the Jacksonville area, stumped 43% of the people surveyed.

What does the phrase “jiffy feet” mean to you, if anything? To people from Jacksonville, it doesn’t mean having great dance moves – which is what most respondents who took the Preply survey thought it meant.

What is the meaning of jiffy feet?

The phrase “jiffy feet” refers to the layer of dirt and dust that adorns the bottom of one’s feet after prancing around driveways, streets, dirt roads, gas stations or really anywhere barefoot.

It perfectly reflects the tendencies of “beachnecks ” (proud beach-dwelling rednecks), who live around Atlantic, Neptune and Jacksonville beaches, to ditch their shoes – especially on beach, boat and pool days.

For example, if you’ve ever spent a Fourth of July biking up and down First Street, you probably had jiffy feet by the time you were walking back home from watching fireworks on the beach.

In a FLORIDA TODAY Facebook post , social media users referred to "jiffy feet" as "7-Eleven feet," "Circle K feet" or "gas station feet."

Where did the slang term 'jiffy feet' come from?

The First Coast slang phrase is built on a slang word that also comes from the Jacksonville area. A “jiffy” or “jiffy store” refers to any gas station or quick stop-style store. For most Duval residents who have been in the area in the last 40 years, “jiffy” is to a quick stop as Kleenex is to a tissue.

This is because of an Orange Park-based chain of convenience stores called Huntley’s Jiffy Food Stores that had the bulk of its 342 stores in the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The chain of stores was bought out twice and any quick stop store that used to be a Huntley’s Jiffy is now a Circle K.

“Jiffy feet” became a popular saying around the Jacksonville area some time in the ‘70s according to reporting by Co-Owner and Editor of The Jaxson Bill Delaney.

“By the 80’s and 90’s, the term was in use in other parts of Florida as well, including Daytona Beach, Ocala, and the Panhandle as far as Pensacola, and even in some other Southern states,” Delaney wrote in an  article on jiffy feet for The Jaxson . “At least initially, the term’s geographical range likely correlated with the presence of stores named ‘Jiffy.’”

What slang words are specific to Florida?

Here are some other Florida phrases and words that are common in the local lexicon. This is certainly not a comprehensive list. Vote  for your favorite  at the end of the list!

  • Florida happy meal :  A Florida happy meal is just easier than saying “I’m going to the jiffy for beer,  a lottery ticket  and cigarettes.”
  • Jit:  It stands for “Juvenile in training.”  Urban Dictionary  has a more  colorful  description for the meaning of the word. If anyone calls you this, you’re being insulted.
  • Noseeum :  This is what we call the little  invisible bugs, actually midges , that decorate our legs with itchy red bumps in the summer. If you’ve never met a noseeum, just know they’re like the really annoying sidekick of mosquitoes.
  • Snowbirds : Hordes of northerners that flock to Florida beaches every winter.
  • Florida bath :  Don’t feel like showering off the chlorine after your pool day? No worries! You don’t have to. You took a Florida bath.
  • Square grouper:  Every once in a while, if you’re fishing or swimming in the right place at the right time, you could come across a square grouper. This is  the name that the US Coast Guard working in the waters around South Florida gave to overboarded bales of drugs.  It’s also the name of  the Florida bar where Alan Jackson shot his “5 O’Clock Somewhere” music video.

Can't see the poll?   Click here to cast your vote . The results may surprise you. Bet. (That's slang for OK or approve.)

Why did Biden update Title IX? How it affects students, survivors of abuse, LGBTQ kids

President Joe Biden unveiled a new set of sweeping changes to Title IX rules on April 26 to protect survivors of abuse, LGBTQ+ students, and student parents.

The latest regulations reinstitute protections for student survivors of sexual assault and harassment that were rolled back during the Trump administration. They will take effect Aug. 1.

While Biden’s updates increased protections for potentially vulnerable students, they also served as an attack in his ongoing power struggle with his Republican challenger during an election year.

Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration on April 29 over new federal nondiscrimination protections for transgender students and vowed not to adhere to the new rules.

Prep for the polls: See who is running for president and compare where they stand on key issues in our Voter Guide

"I am instructing the Texas Education Agency to ignore your illegal dictate," Paxton said in a statement. "Your rewrite of Title IX not only exceeds your constitutional authority, it also tramples laws that I signed to protect the integrity of women’s sports by prohibiting men from competing against female athletes."

What is Title IX?

Title IX is the common name for a federal civil rights law that bans sex-based discrimination against students, employees and others affiliated with schools or any other education program that receives federal funding.

It was enacted as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. Over the years, several presidential administrations have interpreted and updated it differently.

More: Updated Biden administration rules will soon affect students across US: What to know

How did Biden update Title IX?

Under Biden’s new Title IX rules that will take effect Aug. 1, there will be protections from discrimination based on gender identity for the first time and harassment protections for pregnant people and student parents.

Biden’s changes also include an expansion to the definition of sexual assault in K-12 schools and colleges.

Despite much speculation , the Biden administration did not weigh in on whether transgender and nonbinary students can participate in school-affiliated sports teams that align with their gender.

'glee' star darren criss says he's 'culturally queer', 'glee' star darren criss i'm straight ... but also, 'culturally queer'.

Darren Criss says he's more than just an ally for the LGBTQ+ community -- he actually identifies with them deeply in his heart ... going so far as to say he's "culturally queer."

The "Glee" star was at an expo over the weekend in Chicago, where he was asked about his starring role as Blaine Anderson in the hit show -- and what he thought it meant for representation to portray an openly gay character on a major network.

Darren remembers his work on "Glee" quite fondly -- saying it was awesome to play a gay guy ... and that he's proud he was able to put a spotlight on an underrepresented group.

He also says that while he himself is straight and cisgender ... he identifies with the LGBTQ+ community regardless, citing his upbringing in San Francisco in the '90s as seminal to his character and identity.

Of course, the way he actually framed this sentiment might rub people the wrong way -- because, frankly ... what does being "culturally queer" even mean, right? Fair question.

We'll let Darren explain for himself ... because his heart is definitely in the right place here.

Still ... it does sound a little wonky -- and when you consider he's sworn off playing any more gay characters in TV or film, it kinda makes ya wonder if he's rethinking that now that he seems to consider himself part of the community.

Hard to tell how Darren's comments are landing with different LGBTQ+ folks ... but big picture, it seems like many appreciate his sentiment ... maybe.

Katrina Kaif

The times are changing across Indian cinema and Katrina Kaif , one of the top stars of the country, is changing with them.

The top 10 Indian films in the post-pandemic year 2023 were all star-driven blockbusters and Kaif was in the mix with Bollywood action extravaganza “ Tiger 3 ,” the latest in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, where she starred alongside Salman Khan. 2024 has seen a paradigm shift in that, with five of the top 10 films being what are known locally as “content films,” where a strong storyline takes precedence over spectacle.

Popular on Variety

“I was in love with the book. I was just like, ‘Wow,’ I mean, it was everything you wanted in this space. It was tender, poetic, it had that very mysterious Hitchcockian quality to it. It had drama, it had mystery, it had murder, it had everything in the most unique and novel way,” Kaif told Variety over a zoom call from Mumbai.

With six sisters scattered around the globe and her mother running a school for underprivileged children in southern India, Kaif had a peripatetic childhood. At the age of 18, she became a model in India and was soon rubbing shoulders with the best in the business. Films inevitably followed. Her acting debut, 2003 crime thriller “Boom,” was a critical and commercial disaster despite the presence of Bollywood heavyweights Amitabh Bachchan and Jackie Shroff. It is clear that Kaif has expunged the film from her memory. When asked to recount her cinematic journey Kaif says: “I think my first foray was in a South Indian film, a Telugu film actually [2004 romcom “Malliswari” where she plays the titular role of a wealthy heiress]. And from there, I started getting on-camera experience and then working my way slowly, meeting directors, producers. I felt that I had done what I wanted to do in the modeling industry, I felt ‘okay, I’ve understood the scene.’ I had a few targets and goals and I’d achieved those. And for me, my desire and my heart was in the movies.”

Upon the suggestion of filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan, Kaif, who is now known for her exceptional dancing skills, underwent intense training under the late guru Veeru Krishnan, who was an exponent of the Kathak dance form. “Dance is one thing, but I feel like Kathak is about expression. It’s about a feeling, it’s about expressing yourself through music. And that, for me was my foundation for movies,” Kaif says. “It was about understanding the emotion and the language of cinema. I was almost quiet, a little timid, very naive, I wasn’t sure of my identity in terms of what was my voice, my expression as a girl, as a woman. I was very young. So, I think that really helped me find my voice.”

Kaif also benefited from the sage advise of co-star Anil Kapoor (“Slumdog Millionaire”) on the sets of “Humko Deewana Kar Gaye” (2006) who told her to get into the headspace of the scene they were about to perform, rather than walking back and forth. “Having been surrounded by thespians, I was like a sponge, I was very eager to learn, and very open, I was not a person who ever had any airs or preconceived notions,” Kaif says.

Significant success followed. Kaif counts drama-romance “Namastey London” (2007) and comedies “Welcome” (2007) and “Singh Is King” (2008) among the highlights of her early career. Thriller “New York” (2009) was a turning point, Kaif says. The actor also lists comedy “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” (2009), political drama “Rajneeti” (2010) and coming-of-age film “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (2011) as her standout films of that time.

The next chapter in Kaif’s journey featured big-budget high octane action films, including “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) that kicked off the immensely successful spy universe, “Dhoom 3” (2013) and “Bang Bang” (2014). “I was doing exactly what I wanted to do. These were the filmmakers I wanted to work with,” Kaif says. Kaif’s love affair with dance also continued, with her being actively involved in the choreography. The actor also rates her work in action-adventure “Jagga Jasoos” (2017), drama “Zero” (2018) and cop film “Sooryavanshi” (2021), which was the first major Bollywood theatrical release post-COVID.

Meanwhile, the spy universe continued with “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017) and “Ek Tha Tiger” (2023). A sequence set in a hammam (Turkish bath) is a particular highlight for the actor. “For me dance and action are similar in that sense – I need to be in there, I have to execute it,” Kaif says, adding that she rarely uses stunt doubles. The hammam sequence is a case in point where Kaif executed all the action herself as her double came down with COVID-19.

Kaif’s train of thought is interrupted as her phone rings. It’s her husband, the actor Vicky Kaushal . She’ll call him back later. Kaushal is also a perfect example of a changing Bollywood where the story can take precedence over spectacle. His 2023 filmography includes an extended appearance in top 10 hit, immigration drama “Dunki,” playing the lead in military hero biopic “Sam Bahadur” and headlining small-town romcom “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.”

In 2023, the Indian film industry grew 14% to reach a value of $2.3 billion, within which theatrical revenues reached an all-time high of $1.4 billion. The number of screens grew 4% and fewer films released directly on digital platforms. Kaif’s current trajectory mirrors that growth.

“I’ve always put the audiences first and have tried to with my choices throughout my career. And now I think it’s about finding a balance, what story do I feel is going to connect with the audience? And what do I connect to personally and as an actor right now? What’s going to give me growth? What’s going to give me satisfaction? This is just exactly what I want to be doing right now,” Kaif says.

The West came calling recently, but circumstances at the time meant that Kaif had to turn the offer down. “I do believe it will happen, and I think that will be a whole new leaf in my book, so to speak, and really exciting,” Kaif says.

David Gulpilil's epic final journey and funeral in Arnhem Land captured for new documentary

Actor David Gulpilil, an older Yolngu man in shearling coat taking off his akubra, in the documentary My Name is Gulpilil

From outback hearse to remote helicopter, the unique final journey and funeral of one of Australia's most celebrated actors has been captured for a new documentary.

NOTE: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised this article contains an image of a person who has died.

The late actor's family has granted permission to use his name and image.

Trailblazing actor David Gulpilil was one of the Australian film industry's most recognisable faces, starring in landmark movies including Storm Boy, The Tracker, Crocodile Dundee and Rabbit Proof Fence, prior to his death in 2021, aged 68.

He grew up in the Northern Territory bush, from where he was plucked by British film director Nicholas Roeg for the lead role in his first film, 1971 psychedelic outback odyssey, Walkabout.

In his final years of life, Gulpilil had voiced his hope for returning to his birthplace of Arnhem Land to hunt, fish and live on his traditional homeland of Gupulul Marwuyu.

While he didn't make it home in his lifetime, his family followed through with his final wishes for his body to be repatriated to Arnhem Land for a traditional Yolŋu bäpurru (funeral ceremony).

A film crew captured Gulpilil's final journey from the small town of Murray Bridge in South Australia back to the remote NT, which is being turned into new documentary named Journey Home – David Gulpilil, set to hit cinemas and television screens on NITV later this year.

His son Jida Gulpilil told the ABC his father had wanted the efforts to be captured "to show the world – his audience and supporters – about who we are and where we come from".

"This is as honest as it's gonna get to telling my father's story about where we come from, and the ceremonies that we do for our people," Mr Gulpilil said.

"Dad taught me how to live and work and hunt the crocodile.

"These are the things that we live with, and this is the beautiful side of being who we are, and we want to share that with the world."

Gulpilil's journey home to Arnhem Land included a 3,000-kilometre ride in a refrigerated hearse up the Stuart Highway to Darwin.

After this, he was flown by charter aircraft back to the territory town of Nhulunbuy, and later, was taken by chopper back to his remote homeland near the community of Ramingining.

"We flew him across the Arafura Swamp in a big helicopter and got him home, where we rolled out the red carpet," his son said.

The film is being directed by respected filmmakers Maggie Miles and Trisha Morton-Thomas, and is being backed with a Screen Territory investment of $150,000.
