Who is Seven of Nine?

"I am no longer Borg, but the prospect of becoming human is... unsettling. I don't know where I belong." — Seven of Nine, Star Trek: Voyager , " Hope and Fear "

Seven of Nine first appeared in the fourth season premiere of Star Trek: Voyager , " Scorpion, Part II ."

The daughter of human Federation exobiologists Magnus and Erin Hansen, the ex-Borg drone was born Annika Hansen on the Tendara Colony. At a very young age, she was captured and assimilated by the cybernetic species known as the Borg, who renamed her Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One.

Seven was liberated by the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager in 2374. She joined the crew and returned to the Alpha Quadrant with the starship in 2378. After her time on Voyager , she joined the Fenris Rangers, helping instill justice in lawless and dangerous regions of the galaxy.

Seven was assigned as the Borg liaison to Voyager when the Collective formed a temporary alliance with Janeway to defeat their mutual enemy, Species 8472. But you can't just trust a Borg; after they got rid of Species 8472, Seven tried to hand Voyager over to the Collective. Janeway responded by destroying Seven's link to the Borg and removing most of her high-tech hardware.

Seven initially resisted Janeway's attempts to restore her humanity, but eventually she came to accept her new life.

‘Star Trek: Voyager’: The 10 best Seven of Nine episodes

Matthew Doherty

Seven of Nine is one of the most popular and enduring characters the Star Trek franchise has ever produced. Played superbly by Jeri Ryan , Star Trek: Voyager charted her journey from unfeeling Borg drone to one of the most human characters in the show. We see her develop close relationships with Captain Janeway and the holographic Doctor while coming to terms with the crimes she committed while controlled by the Borg.

Voyager was full of excellent Seven moments, and fans’ immensely positive response to the character led her to dominate the show’s later years. With Ryan returning for the much-hyped third season of Star Trek: Picard , we can expect more exploration of Seven of Nine’s character. The following is a countdown of the 10 greatest Voyager episodes featuring her in a central role:

10. “Tsunkatse “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

In “Tsunkatse,” Seven is forced to fight in televised gladiatorial combat against a host of alien opponents. The fights become increasingly dangerous, and ultimately she is manipulated into a death match against a man she has befriended. “Tsunkatse” may not be the greatest episode of Voyager ever filmed, but it does feature Seven putting that Borg super-strength to good use against WWE legend and Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

9. “Scorpion (Part 2) “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

This is the episode that introduces us to Seven of Nine: Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One (but you may call her Seven of Nine), a scary-looking Borg drone working in an uneasy alliance with the Voyager crew. Jeri Ryan shows off her acting skills straight away, oozing menace as she acts as the Borg’s spokesperson. At the end of the episode, her link with the Borg Collective is severed, and Captain Janeway forcibly recruits her as Voyager’s newest (and most dangerous) crew member.

8. “The Raven “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

This episode sees Seven continuing to adapt to her new life as a liberated Borg drone, eating for the first time and even trying her hand at creating a sculpture. It gives us a complicated mystery which reveals more of Seven’s backstory, showing us that her parents were scientists who irresponsibly ventured into unknown space with their child. The conclusion features a wonderful scene where Seven places her trust in Tuvok, the ship’s Vulcan security officer.

7. “Relativity “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

This is a popular comedy episode that sees Seven traveling back and forth through time to stop a temporal bomb being planted on Voyager. We get treated to some great scenes, including Seven infiltrating Voyager’s bridge in a Starfleet uniform and a ping-pong tournament where the ball freezes mid-play. We also see the return of Captain Braxton of the Starfleet Temporal Integrity Commission, sent from the 29th century. Any episode that features the line, “Seven of Nine to Seven of Nine, what’s your status?” has got to be worth a look.

6. “Body and Soul “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

Another comedic episode, here Seven and the Doctor are held prisoner by a xenophobic alien species who despise holograms. The Doctor must hide his program in Seven’s Borg implants, temporarily taking over her body. Jeri Ryan’s performance in “Body and Soul” is excellent as she perfectly emulates Robert Picardo’s distinctive speaking style and mannerisms.

5. “The Voyager Conspiracy “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

Seven modifies her alcove to assimilate huge amounts of data while she sleeps. Inevitably, this turns out to be a very bad idea. She begins to see conspiracies everywhere, simultaneously believing that Janeway stranded Voyager in the Delta Quadrant on purpose and that Chakotay is planning to take over the ship. It is the final act of the episode where Seven steals a shuttle to try and escape that shows how close she and Janeway have become.

4. “Infinite Regress “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

“Infinite Regress” showcases all of Ryan’s considerable acting ability. Malfunctioning Borg tech has split Seven’s mind into multiple personalities based on people she assimilated as a drone. Her schizophrenia manifests itself in the form of a snarling, meat-eating Klingon (who tries to mate with B’Elanna Torres), an excited child desperate to play with Naomi Wildman, and a Ferengi merchant eager to buy Voyager’s technology. Despite being a fun episode with many laughs, “Infinite Regress” had a serious side, forcing Seven to come to terms with the atrocities she had committed.

3. “Someone to Watch Over Me “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

“Someone to Watch Over Me” sees the Doctor (himself a hologram) teaching Seven how to embrace her humanity. He does this through a series of holodeck programs about dating where Seven learns to dance, laugh, and make small talk. In introducing her to romance, the Doctor realizes he has got more than he bargained for when he falls in love with everyone’s favorite ex-Borg. The final scene where the Doctor apparently confesses his love to Seven is among the most tragic moments in the show.

2. “One “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

In the last half of season four, a dangerous radiation cloud forces Janeway to place the whole crew in suspended animation while the ship passes through. The only two crewmembers unaffected are the Doctor and Seven. But for the ex-Borg drone used to hearing the thoughts of billions, as the days go by the loneliness becomes too much. When the Doctor goes offline, Seven must overcome her fears to keep the ship operational. A great episode that again shows Ryan’s acting prowess, “One” also features Seven trying to improve her social skills. In a simulation, she demands a holographic B’Elanna Torres to “describe the nature of your sexual relationship with Lieutenant Paris!”

1. “Drone “

voyager seven of nine erste folge

A transporter accident sees Seven’s Borg nanoprobes merge with the Doctor’s mobile emitter to create a Borg baby from the 29th Century. This episode makes Seven into a mother as she nurtures her fast-growing child from a fetal drone into a young man, who is eventually named “One.” Seven begins to teach One how to be an individual as she prepares him for life aboard Voyager. However, the Borg quickly learn of One’s existence and send a Sphere to capture him and assimilate Voyager. In the final scene, One realizes he must die to prevent 29th Century technology from falling into the hands of The Collective. He refuses the Doctor’s lifesaving medical treatment despite Seven’s pleas. “Drone” is possibly the greatest Seven episode, and one of the most heart-breaking for the character.

Summary [ ]

Tom and BElanna have dinner w Captain

Dinner in the mess hall

While traveling through the Delta Quadrant , with the captain and some of her bridge crew being treated to a special dinner put on by Seven of Nine , USS Voyager is sucked into an area of space that is devoid of stars , planets or any other form of energy . Almost immediately on being pulled in, Voyager is attacked by a starship .

Act One [ ]

In the ensuing fight, Voyager 's shields are damaged. This gives the attackers the opportunity to transport away almost 90% of the food supplies aboard Voyager , as well as some of its deuterium stocks. This puzzles the crew, as Paris remarks that deuterium can be found almost anywhere.

However, it soon becomes apparent that deuterium can't be found within this anomaly, along with any other resources a starship would need. General Valen , who had been watching the fight between Voyager and its attacker, tells Captain Janeway that the only way to obtain energy and supplies within the Void is to attack new arrivals. He and his crew have survived for five years in The Void using these tactics. Janeway refuses to consider stealing supplies to survive. Instead she intends to try to escape The Void. Valen tells her that escape is impossible, but Janeway is not deterred. Valen tells Janeway that he has tactical data on some of the more dangerous predators and will trade the information for photon torpedoes. Janeway refuses.

Using the sensors in astrometrics , Seven of Nine is able to predict when the next funnel, similar to the one that sucked them in, will appear. Voyager flies into the funnel, but is unable to break through to normal space .

Act Two [ ]

Valen's ship damaged

The ship which had taken Voyager's supplies becomes a victim itself

Faced with a situation where the ship will run out of energy in a little over a week, Janeway decides to find the supplies that were stolen from Voyager . The ship that attacked them is tracked down, but is adrift, the crew dead, and almost all useful components stripped from the ship. The only useful item left is the casing around the warp core , which Torres beams over. Upon inspecting the casing, she and Seven of Nine find a stowaway hiding inside. His leg is injured, so he is transported to sickbay . He appears unable to talk, but The Doctor determines that his physiology is such that he is able to survive for long periods without oxygen .

Janeways dark decision

Janeway has to decide if the crew is ready to die for its principles

Meanwhile, the current holder of Voyager 's supplies is tracked down. It turns out to be Valen, who stole the supplies from the ship that attacked Voyager . When he refuses to return them, Janeway knocks out his shields and beams the supplies aboard. Despite retrieving only half the original supplies, she refuses to take any of the other supplies aboard Valen's ship.

Tuvok and Chakotay , as second and first officer , come to her ready room later to ask if the usual operating procedure is going to change due to the extreme circumstances. She replies that she has been consulting the Federation Charter to look for loopholes, but as there are none, she says that they will continue to follow Federation protocols. Instead, she has hit upon the idea of forming an alliance with some of the other ships trapped within The Void.

Act Three [ ]

Voyager contacts some of the other ships, without much success. Janeway tries to convince the captain of a Nygean ship, Garon , to join the alliance, offering him some of their food as a gesture of her goodwill. However, he is skeptical, only saying he'll think about it.

In sickbay, The Doctor, together with Seven, has developed a method of communication with the stowaway, whom he has christened Fantome . Using a system of different musical notes he is able to converse with him.

When a new ship is sucked into The Void, it is attacked by Valen. Voyager comes to its aid, but Valen has a second ship, which puts Voyager in danger. Fortunately, Garon arrives and helps to fight off Valen.

Act Four [ ]

With Garon and the new ship, a Hierarchy surveillance ship , and others allies such as the Kraylor , also in the alliance, Voyager is able to attract new members more easily. While the ships share different technologies to conserve power, Voyager is given technology to reduce the power required by its replicators by a significant amount.

Alliance with Bosaal and his allies

The Alliance in formation

The Doctor takes Fantome under his wing, and teaches him various 'words'. However, when a visiting prospective alliance member, Bosaal , sees Fantome, he calls him and his species vermin. Janeway, although put off by this reaction, offers to beam aboard any members of Fantome's species that may be hiding aboard his ship. He agrees to this and decides to join the alliance.

Torres needs to build a polaron modulator in order to escape The Void. Although she works with Garon to build it, Janeway looks for a ship that has one so she can trade for it. Later she discovers that Bosaal has provided a fully compatible modulator. On questioning him, she discovers that he stole it and killed the crew of the ship it belonged to. Enraged, Janeway throws him off the ship and tells him to take the modulator with him.

Act Five [ ]

Even though they need the modulator to escape, she refuses to use it, obtained in the way that it was. This causes some of the other members of the alliance to leave, too. Janeway is annoyed with herself, telling Chakotay she should have trusted her instincts on Bosaal and never let him join in the first place.

Torres finishes building the modulator, but needs time to test it. However, Chakotay comes across the members of the Hierarchy survey ship utilizing Voyager's astrometrics lab without permission. While their intention was to spy on other ships within The Void to find more potential members for the alliance, what they discovered was Bosaal meeting with Valen, plotting to attack Voyager , which they show Chakotay. As the alliance ships don't have enough power to fight off the attack, Janeway decides that they'll have to forgo the test and try to escape as soon as possible. Fantome and the three other members of his species offer to help. Another funnel forms and the alliance move towards it.

The Alliance escapes the Void

Voyager and its allies are freed from the Void

As the alliance attempts to escape, Valen and Bosaal attack. Voyager manages to weaken their shields and beam Fantome and his friends aboard the two ships. They immediately sabotage the engines of the two ships, giving the alliance a chance to escape. As Fantome's species believe they are native to the void, they choose to remain there. Voyager extends its shield bubble around the other ships and they all manage to escape from the void.

Back in normal space, Janeway thanks Garon and the Hierarchy for their help, as they return the gratitude. After they leave, Janeway muses that being in the alliance almost felt like they were part of a Federation again and Chakotay reminds her that the real Federation is only 30,000 light years away as Voyager resumes its course for the Alpha Quadrant.

Log entries [ ]

  • " Captain's Log, Stardate 54562.7. Since Garon and the survey ship became our charter members, finding new allies has gotten a little easier. My latest prospect is Commander Bosaal , whose ship has technology that could help us escape. "

" The vultures are circling. " " Vultures eat the dead, Mister Paris. We're not dead yet. "

" I'm so glad we taught them the value of cooperation. "

" Preparing meals myself is the best way to ensure quality. "

Background information [ ]

Production [ ].

  • Filming for the episode began on November 29, 2000 on Stages 9 and 16. A working title for the episode was "Federation." ( StarTrek.com Production notes - Voyager Enters "The Void" (X) )
  • When Janeway and Chakotay are saying that the Alliance was almost like being part of the Federation again, the original series theme is heard playing in the background.
  • During the musical conversation between Fantome and the other members of his species several musical phrases from the origional series' opening theme can be heard as well.

Cast and characters [ ]

  • Jonathan Del Arco previously played Hugh in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes " I Borg " and " Descent, Part II ". He later reprised the role in the first season of Star Trek: Picard .

Continuity [ ]

  • Voyager had previously been stuck in a starless void in the fifth-season premiere " Night ".
  • The first ship encountered by Voyager in the Void has a Vaadwaur signal. Voyager first encountered the Vaadwaur in the sixth-season episode " Dragon's Teeth " and this is their second appearance.
  • Voyager encounters Overlookers in this episode. Voyager first encountered the Overlookers in the sixth-season episode " Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy " and this is their second appearance.
  • This episode continues the established Voyager tradition of darkened or blacked-out set pieces, a production tool first used in the third season episode " Macrocosm " and continued in " Prey " and " Demon " (both fourth season ). Of particular note are " Night " ( season 5 ) and " The Haunting of Deck Twelve " ( sixth season ) where a large part of the action takes place in almost complete darkness, adding atmosphere and tension to events.
  • This episode has a similar premise to TAS : " The Time Trap ", in which the USS Enterprise is sucked into a dimension whose inhabitants have accepted their inability to escape. In that episode, the inhabitants had instead established a government based on non-violence.
  • The Doctor's quest to find a name, which started with his request for one in the first season episode " Eye of the Needle ", is referenced in this episode when he tells Seven that "choosing the right name for myself is extremely difficult."
  • Guest star Robin Sachs (General Valen) has played a Minbari and two Narn characters on Babylon 5 .
  • In Babylon 5 , Valen is the name of a holy figure among the Minbari.
  • Episode director Mike Vejar has also directed many Babylon 5 episodes.
  • The second ship that attacks Voyager after they first enter the void and steals their supplies has a design reminiscent of the White Star class ship from Babylon 5 .
  • This episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup For A Series.

Star Trek Returns To A DS9 & Voyager Location For The First Time In 25 Years

Star trek actors & executive producers react to peabody award, "part of my legacy": young sheldon star reacts to george's tragic fate.

Who is Jeri Ryan's Seven of Nine, one of several returning characters in Star Trek: Picard ? Prior to this year's San Diego Comic Con event, very little was known about Patrick Stewart's  Star Trek: Picard solo series, other than that the titular Starfleet legend would be retired at the outset of the story. Many  Star Trek fans were anticipating that Picard may rendezvous with some of his pals from  The Next Generation  in this new adventure,   but the connectivity to previous series actually runs far deeper.

In an action-packed trailer, Picard stumbles across the familiar form of Seven of Nine, once again portrayed by Jeri Ryan. This particular reveal caught everyone by surprise, as the character was a mainstay of  Star Trek: Voyager , rather than Picard's own  The Next Generation . Nevertheless, Ryan's return was met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the franchise faithful, and speculation soon followed as to what the future may hold for this popular  Star Trek character.

With Seven of Nine returning to screens once again, it's perhaps worth looking back at her  Star Trek origins, her time aboard the good ship Voyager, and the future continuation of her story in  Star Trek: Picard .

Seven Of Nine's Star Trek Origins

Star Trek: The Next Generation introduced a brand new race of formidable villains, the Borg - a cybernetic breed of hive-mind life forms determined to remake every other living creature in their own image via the process of assimilation. Despite their violent intent, the story of Hugh established that Borg  could be reformed. By separating them from the Collective and reprogramming their functions, a Borg drone could develop autonomy and mental freedom. This concept was developed further with Seven of Nine in  Star Trek: Voyager .

Seven of Nine was born as a human named Annika Hansen on the Tendara Earth colony. Both of Annika's parents were Federation scientists tasked with studying the existence and biology of the Borg race and, unsurprisingly, this hazardous occupation would ultimately lead to the Hansen family's demise. As their studies became more detailed, the Hansens set out for Borg territory with a 4-year old Annika in tow, following one of the infamous Borg Cubes into the Delta Quadrant. Thanks to their scientific ingenuity, the Hansens remained undetected for two years, walking anonymously among the Borg . However, an ion storm rendered their ship's purpose-built shields useless for several seconds - more than enough time for the Borg to notice their presence and swoop in.

Annika spent almost two decades as a part of the Borg Collective under the designation Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01.

Seven Of Nine In Star Trek: Voyager

Facing the might of a new threat known only as Species 8472, the Borg were forced into an uneasy alliance with the Voyager crew, with Janeway offering the Collective new weapons in exchange for safe passage in Star Trek: Voyager 's season 3 finale. The Borg sent Seven of Nine onto the Federation vessel as their representative and, as one might expect, the Borg tried to break their end of the bargain once they got what they desired. Captain Janeway did indeed expect this betrayal, and as Seven of Nine moved to assimilate the crew, Lieutenant Torres overloaded the Borg implant in Annika's body, destroying her connection to the rest of the Collective.

The Voyager's holographic doctor reverted Seven of Nine 's physical form back to that of a human, as far as was possible, but some Borg trademarks remained, including the machine-like thought processes and a struggle to identify as human. In season 4's "The Raven," the Voyager visited the site of the crashed Hansen family ship, and Seven regained her memory of the assimilation she suffered as a child.

From this point, Seven's gradual transition from Borg to human becomes one of  Star Trek: Voyager 's central themes. Professionally, the new crew member uses her technological expertise to assist Voyager in the role of a science officer, facilitating numerous upgrades on board the ship. Personally, however, Seven's new life proved far trickier. Over the remaining 4 seasons, Seven became increasingly more human and independent in nature, despite several moral clashes with Captain Janeway and others. One of Seven of Nine's most memorable moments came in season 5's "Drone." Using the traditional "transporter malfunction" explanation, Seven found herself with a clone child, allowing the former Borg to explore her new-found maternal instincts. The artificially-created drone realizes his presence puts Voyager in danger and duly sacrifices himself, giving Seven of Nine a profound sense of loss for the first time since her assimilation.

Eventually, of course, Seven becomes a close friend of Janeway's and a trusted member of the Voyager crew. She even develops romantic associations with various characters, although some might argue the sexual element of Seven of Nine was played upon heavily.

Seven Of Nine In Star Trek: Picard

Not a great deal is known about Seven of Nine's role in  Star Trek: Picard , but it can be gleaned from the trailer that she'll likely be helping Picard somehow on his mission to protect a mysterious young girl from harm. Seven's return is surely also connected to the wider Borg presence in  Star Trek: Picard . The footage released thus far reveals a Borg Cube and a Romulan facility that seemingly keeps Borg captive. It's surely also no coincidence that  Star Trek: Picard brings together Seven of Nine and her spiritual predecessor, Hugh . Both of these characters explored the same themes of individuality and second chances and those concepts could also form the heart of  Star Trek: Picard .

Jeri Ryan's brief appearance in the  Star Trek: Picard trailer also implies that her and the former Enterprise captain meet away from Earth, perhaps after Stewart's character has set out with his new crew . Interestingly, Seven of Nine's speech patterns in Star Trek: Picard are far less formal than her days on the Voyager, suggesting some significant progression for the character. Seven seems cynical about Picard coming out of retirement, and the scene's homely setting suggests that the former Borg may have left Starfleet and settled down herself after arriving from the Delta Quadrant. It remains to be seen whether  Star Trek: Voyager 's Chakotay will appear, since the First Officer and Seven married in one future timeline.

Seven of Nine isn't set to be a member of  Star Trek: Picard 's main cast, but more of a fan-pleasing guest star. Nevertheless, her return allows the  Star Trek franchise to give fans an insight into Seven's continued human development, whether she lived a full and happy life and possibly even the fates of other Voyager crew members.

Star Trek: Discovery Reveals Seven Of Nine's Surprising Legacy

WARNING: Contains SPOILERS for Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 7, "Erigah".

  • Commander Jett Reno reveals a surprising new talent in mixing cocktails, including her signature "Seven of Limes" drink.
  • The legacy of Seven of Nine lives on in Star Trek's 32nd century, with a nod to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine at USS Discovery's bar.
  • Star Trek: Discovery season 5 continues to honor the past with references to Voyager, hinting at an exciting future for Captain Seven.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 7, "Erigah", reveals that Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) has left her mark on the 32nd century in a surprising way. Even though Discovery is set 800 years after the events of Star Trek: Voyager , there have been several references to the show so far in season 5. Voyager 's Krenim villains created the time bug that caused havoc for Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Commander Rayner (Callum Keith Rennie) in "Face the Strange". Three episodes later, and Discovery season 5, episode 7, written by M. Raven Metzner and directed by Jon Dudkowski has two more Voyager callbacks.

The ending of Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 7 , "Erigah" reveals that the final piece of the Progenitors' puzzle is located in the Badlands. A dangerous region of space wracked with serious plasma storms, the Badlands was where the USS Voyager went missing in the Star Trek: Voyager pilot, "Caretaker" . Earlier in the episode, while trying to decipher the fifth and final clue, Lt. Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman) and Ensign Adira Tal (Blu del Barrio) seek the assistance of Commander Jett Reno (Tig Notaro), who provides an update on Voyager 's Seven of Nine and her legacy.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Returning Cast & New Character Guide

As Burnham seeks the universe's greatest treasure in Star Trek: Discovery season 5, she'll need help from a host of new and returning characters.

Star Trek: Discovery Reveals Seven Of Nine Has A Surprising Legacy

You can order a seven of limes in discovery's bar..

Commander Jett Reno reveals that she has multiple talents in Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 7. Including being a skilled engineer, Reno is also an expert in antique books, and even pulls in shifts at Red's, the USS Discovery's bar. Revealing this information to a surprised Tilly and Adira, Reno tells them that they haven't lived until they've tried her " Seven of Limes " . Where some Star Trek characters, like Nog (Aron Eisenberg) have had starships, or in the case of Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula), an entire spacedock, named after them in the 32nd century, Seven has to make do with a cocktail.

In a nod to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , the USS Discovery's bar, Red's, has a Ferengi bartender, and a Lurian propping up the bar.

It's unclear exactly what's in a Seven of Limes or how it compares to Kellerun Citrus Mash, but it's good to know that the legacy of Seven of Nine lives on in Star Trek 's 32nd century. While it may seem small compared to a starship or a spacedock, it's worth pointing out that nobody has a cocktail named after them in the far future without having made some huge cultural impact. As Seven of Nine has recently become the third female captain of the starship Enterprise , it's guaranteed that she'll make a huge impact on Starfleet history.

Will We Ever Find Out More About Seven of Nine In Star Trek?

Star trek: legacy remains a hypothetical concept for now..

Star Trek: Picard season 3 ended by giving Captain Seven of Nine the center seat of the Federation's flagship, the USS Enterprise-G. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of whether Captain Seven's adventures will continue in Terry Matalas' hypothetical Star Trek: Legacy show. There's been no official statement about Star Trek: Legacy , or any future plans for both Jeri Ryan and the character of Seven of Nine. The only other 24th century Star Trek shows are both set before the events of Picard season 3, meaning that there'll be no updates about Captain Seven in Star Trek: Lower Decks or Star Trek: Prodigy .

Given that Star Trek: Discovery is set at the extreme end of the Star Trek timeline , it's a good sign that Seven of Nine is still remembered 800 years in the future. While she may not have a starship named after her, the very fact that Seven of Limes exists suggests that Captain Seven crossed over into the wider culture beyond Starfleet. Clearly, stories of Seven's heroism post- Star Trek: Picard season 3 left an impact on popular culture within the Federation, inspiring a bartender somewhere to concoct the Seven of Limes in her honor.

Star Trek: Discovery season 5 streams Thursdays on Paramount+.

Star Trek: Voyager

The fifth entry in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: Voyager, is a sci-fi series that sees the crew of the USS Voyager on a long journey back to their home after finding themselves stranded at the far ends of the Milky Way Galaxy. Led by Captain Kathryn Janeway, the series follows the crew as they embark through truly uncharted areas of space, with new species, friends, foes, and mysteries to solve as they wrestle with the politics of a crew in a situation they've never faced before.

Star Trek: Picard

After starring in Star Trek: The Next Generation for seven seasons and various other Star Trek projects, Patrick Stewart is back as Jean-Luc Picard. Star Trek: Picard focuses on a retired Picard who is living on his family vineyard as he struggles to cope with the death of Data and the destruction of Romulus. But before too long, Picard is pulled back into the action. The series also brings back fan-favorite characters from the Star Trek franchise, such as Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Worf (Michael Dorn), and William Riker (Jonathan Frakes).
