Awesome tour. The company Vinetrekker was proactive and flexible with my pickup and drop off. The tour guide Shane was very friendly and knowledgeable about both the history of the area and wine. The other guests were also friendly which made the trip extra special. We visited a variety of traditional, modern, and edgy wineries for a wide variety of experiences. My partner and I had the best time on Paul’s wine tour. Paul was a great host, not only did he drive us from vineyard to vineyard but he knew a lot about the wines, the areas we were in and the different types of wine each vineyard had to offer – to our taste.

The 5 vineyards were amazing and the knowledge from both the sommeliers, Paul (& to our luck a couple of vineyard owners!) made the whole experience even more amazing. Lunch was very good quality and the wine pairing made it even better.

Although no two winery tours are the same, here is an example of what you might expect on your day with Australian Wine Tour Co.

The Yarra Valley

Victoria’s world-famous Yarra Valley wine region is located a short 45-minute drive from Melbourne’s CBD district. It is home to many old-world and some burgeoning new world wine varietals and is known the world over for its misty, crisp and classic white wines.

Since its establishment as a premium Australian wine region in 1838, the climate and resulting cultivation of particular grape varieties have allowed the region to become known the world over for its chardonnay and pinot noir vintages.

It is located in a foggy valley surrounding the Yarra River, making it a prime location for cold weather winemaking.
