At a distance of 35 Kms from Araku Valley , Masthyagundam, also called as 'fish pool' is an interesting pool on the Machkund River near the village of Matham (15 kms from Paderu) A barrier of rocks runs right across the river and the stream plunges into a great hole and vanishes beneath this to reappear again at about 100 yards lower down. Just where it emerges under the barrier, it forms a pool which is crowded with fish of all sizes. Now, steps have been formed and one can straight go up to the pool. We went Araku too many times and it's boring. But, this time it is different. We want to Kollaput Resort. It is 12Km from Araku Valley. This resort is placed at mountain valley with pleasant nature. The Sunrise and Sunset are good scenery and every one can enjoy those. The main highlight is the resort is located beside the river. We placed our tents to closer to the river, we slept in tents throughout the night with the waterflow sound. It gives you a different experience.

Literally a resort in no man's land. A resort just beside a big check dam and a water stream surrounded by mountains with sailing clouds, a railing bridge over the check dam and probably the best maintained resorts around araku. Best place to spend quality time with friends and family. The resort is maintained by the local tribes of the village Kollaputtu that is at a stone throw distance from the resorts. They will arrange for food if you ask them an hour before. 10 km from Araku with a good road but should drive slowly at 2 spots and any car can go there. After reaching the place your vehicle should cross the stream to reach the resort which is an icing on the cake. All an all a serene place to spend for blissful memories.
