So you’re going on vacation to Cabo …

One of the first things you want to see is the iconic rock Arch of Cabo San Lucas, right?

You’ve heard about this remarkable sight rising up out of the sea…

The fun glass-bottom boat tours to get there. The barking sea lions. The frigate birds riding the hot air updrafts like roller coasters, high above the cliffs.

Every time we visit the Los Cabos area , we always make a trip out to the Arch. We’ve been visiting Cabo each year (sometimes twice a year) for more than 20 years now – and we’ve done all sorts of different tours to this famous rock formation in Cabo.

Here are our recommendations on how to get to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas (i.e., best Cabo Arch tours) and what you can see and do there.

Sculpted over millions of years, the Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a signature landmark of Los Cabos.

6 best cabo san lucas arch tours.

FAQs about the Cabo San Lucas Arch

Located at Land’s End, the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula , the Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a distinctive granite rock formation which curves over the ocean in a majestic arch.

The three-story-high Arch is a natural phenomenon, carved by tidal and wind erosion over thousands of years.

A popular tourist attraction, it’s known locally as El Arco, which literally translates as “The Arch.”

You can’t walk or drive to it – it can only be reached from the water.

Attractions at El Arco

The sight of Los Cabos’ famous Arch is awe-inspiring.

But it’s more than just a stunning rock formation to gaze at. There are several other cool attractions to discover here too.

Lover’s Beach

Lover's Beach is one of the best beaches in Cabo San Lucas.

Known as Playa del Amor by the locals, this secluded hideaway sits between the mainland and the Arch of Los Cabos and, like the Arch, is only accessible by boat.

It hugs the protected Sea of Cortez , so the waters here are usually calm (especially in the morning, before the wind picks up, and then again around sunset, when the wind dies down).

Although the alluring scenery may ignite a romantic spark, you’re not likely to have the beach to yourself, as it’s one of the most popular spots in the area.

One reason: Its calm waters make it one of the few safe swimming beaches in Cabo . Second reason: There’s also some great snorkeling offshore.

Visitors enjoy kayaking, swimming and snorkeling at Lover's Beach.

Divorce Beach

Directly opposite Lover’s Beach, facing the rougher Pacific Ocean is this equally beautiful stretch of sand.

Jagged rock formations guard the beach like sentries.

You can walk across the sand from Lover's Beach to Divorce Beach

Divorce Beach is said to have earned its name because of the strong currents and impressive waves that crash upon the beach’s shores – which can result in couples fighting.

Like… “ Honey, don’t go for a swim there! ” and “ Nah, don’t worry, I can do it! ”

Both Divorce Beach and Lover’s Beach have no facilities (such as eateries or restrooms), so you should bring your own water and snacks.

Sea lion colony

Cabo’s Arch isn’t just popular with tourists.

Hanging out on a nearby wave-washed rocky platform ( La Lobera or The Rookery) is an entire colony of sea lions .

A big sea lion basks in the sunshine near the Arch

Fun fact: Weighing around 400 pounds, these water-loving creatures can hold their breath underwater for up to 20 minutes!

The best way to view these playful marine mammals is via a boat tour from the Cabo San Lucas Marina (details below).

You can hear them before you see them. Their bark echoes loudly across the water. Oh, and you can smell them too. Talk about stinky!

Pelicans and sea birds

Sea birds fly over the rocks at Land's End, Cabo San Lucas

The rock formations which line Land’s End are the perfect resting place for a range of sea birds, including egrets, gulls, cormorants and brown pelicans. (Sea birds like offshore rocks since they offer a safe refuge.)

The aptly named Pelican Rock (which itself sort-of looks like a pelican!) is a favorite spot for these noisy birds to roost – the white poop that coats the rock is a dead giveaway.

Pirate’s Cave

Pirate's Cave, Cabo San Lucas

Tucked away near the base of the picturesque Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a hidden cave that was once a clandestine haunt for pirates before the 1900s. Or so the rumor goes…

It’s said pirates used to lurk here and in other coves along the Baja coast, waiting for unsuspecting trade ships to pass by.

This sea cave is best seen at low tide on a boat tour.

The best way to see this famous rock formation is to take a Cabo Arch tour.

There are numerous tours available, from luxurious sunset cruises to kayaking adventures.

Below are some of our faves. When planning your trip to Cabo , you’ll want to do one of these!

Prices are in USD.

1) Sunset cruise

Arch of Cabo San Lucas

There’s really no better way to end a day in Cabo San Lucas than via a classy sailing experience as the sun sets over the stunning Arch.

Cabo Sailing is our go-to tour operator for this experience.

We’ve enjoyed two luxurious cruises with them now, sipping wine and margaritas and nibbling on appies as we sailed around the Cabo San Lucas rock formations.

Their sunset cruises take a maximum of 14 people but you can typically expect fewer people. We only had six guests (including us!) on one of our cruises.

A woman sips a glass of wine on a sunset cruise in Cabo San Lucas.

Alternatively, if you’re searching for a unique Cabo activity (maybe with the kids?), jump aboard a pirate ship for a sunset cruise like no other!

You’ll set sail on the only pirate ship in Cabo for a fun dinner cruise.

Hear pirate tales, play games with the pirate-dressed crew, dance, enjoy an open bar (adults only, of course!) and tuck into a barbecue dinner with ribs and chicken.

2) Water taxi ride to the Arch at Cabo San Lucas

Water taxi boats cruise by the Cabo San Lucas Arch.

If you’re just visiting Cabo during the day (maybe on a cruise?), a glass-bottom boat ride or water taxi is probably the best option to take you to the Arch.

You can hop on one from Medano Beach or the Cabo San Lucas Marina.

There are plenty of different vendors.

The cost varies, depending on whether they’re busy (i.e., if it’s high season or cruise ships are in the Cabo San Lucas port ) and how good your bargaining skills are.

But in general, the cost is about $20 to $25 p.p. If lots of cruise ship passengers are milling around, you might pay more.

These Cabo Land’s End tours typically putter around Land’s End, showing you all the sights – and slowing down at the Arch so you can take pictures.

If you’d like, they’ll drop you off at Lover’s Beach for some swimming or snorkeling and pick you up later at a predetermined time to take you back to where you came from.

For example, here’s a shared water taxi ride aboard a 30-foot boat that costs just under $20 p.p.

It’s one of the cheapest tours we’ve found! And it’s received tons of 5-star reviews.

The one-hour tour leaves from the Marina, and you have the option of being dropped off at Lover’s Beach on the way back. (Just ask, however, about being picked up again – that may cost extra.)

Alternatively, this glass-bottom boat tour is 45 minutes long.

You can ask for drop-off and pick-up at Lover’s Beach (time spent at the beach is in addition, making your tour longer).

Or you can ask to be dropped off at Medano Beach at the end, instead of back at the Marina.

Or upgrade from a glass bottom boat to a completely clear boat! It’s one of the most unique ways to tour Land’s End.

cabo rock tour

When you’re in one of these completely transparent boats from Enva Tours, you can see all the colorful tropical fish through the bottom of the boat and the sides!

Their tours are 50 minutes’ long.

(But we don’t believe you have the option of getting off at Lover’s Beach and being picked up later. Perhaps if they’re not busy, you can arrange this.)

3) Kayaking tour to Land’s End

If you’d like to get some exercise too, a kayaking tour is one of the best ways to see the Arch in Cabo.

Paddling along the clear Sea of Cortez water, you’ll be met by unrivaled views of the Baja California Peninsula without the rumble of a motor disturbing the sounds of the ocean or the cries of seabirds.

A couple in a double kayak by the Los Cabos Arch

For kayaking tours in Cabo, we highly recommend a small family-operated tour company called Cabo Outfitters. We’ve gone out with them on several tours in Cabo (including a kayak tour).

Cabo Outfitters is run by a lovely couple, Casey Catlin and his wife.

They’ve been living in Cabo for over 22 years now and they’re incredibly knowledgeable about the area.

They only hire the best tour guides for their kayaking tours (Casey is one of them), so you can be confident you’re taking to the water in safe hands.

Their Arch and Lover’s Beach kayaking and snorkeling tour is about 3½ hours long and includes hotel transfers. All the reviews are 5-star.

4) Snorkeling or scuba diving near the Los Cabos Arch

Beneath the surface of the water near the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, there’s a whole world of marine life just waiting to greet you.

Fish underwater at Land's End

Sea turtles, rays and angelfish are just some of the creatures you may encounter here when snorkeling or scuba diving .

For snorkeling at Land’s End, we recommend this luxury yacht sailing and snorkeling tour with Cabo Sailing. We’ve done two sailing trips with them now – and love the upscale experience they offer.

You get to snorkel near El Arco, sip cocktails from an open bar and enjoy a light lunch on their 3-hour trips.

If you’re traveling with friends or family, you might like a private Cabo boat tour to the Arch.

Check out this private boat tour with La Isla Tours.

Their 32-foot x 12-foot custom-made catamaran is unique.

cabo rock tour

The deck space is flat and wide, with lots of space to chill out – think comfy couch seating and coffee tables under a shade roof – and it comfortably takes up to 12 guests.

It putters out to the Arch, where it anchors so you can hang out, play your own music on their MP3 system, go snorkeling and relax on a floating mat.

You can even bring your own food and alcohol! (Or let them cater for you.)

Family on a floating mat in Cabo San Lucas

As for scuba diving, certified divers can go out with MANTA Scuba on a 2-tank dive at Land’s End on one of their shaded, custom-made dive boats.

The water visibility is typically very good – and you can watch the unique underwater sand falls here!

We’ve gone scuba diving with MANTA (at Cabo Pulmo National Park ) – they’re highly professional and very good.

5) SUP to the Arch

Another fantastic way to see Los Cabos’ famous Arch up close is by paddling there on a SUP board. It’s one of our favorite water-based activities in Cabo ! (Well, Janice’s – George is still working on his balance.)

You can rent stand-up paddleboards on Medano beach for around $25 to $30 an hour.

SUP is a popular water sport on Medano Beach.

Be aware that you can only SUP from Medano Beach to Land’s End early in the morning. For safety reasons, you can’t cross over the Marina channel after 10:00 am, when boat traffic picks up.

As it takes about 90 minutes to two hours to paddle to the Arch and back to Medano Beach, you should plan on leaving by 8:00 am at the latest.

Also, the wind is typically calm early in the morning, so the water will be flat and easier for paddling.

Alternatively, opt for a guided SUP tour , which includes snorkeling at Pelican Rock and/or relaxing on Lover’s Beach.

The beauty of this top-rated tour is that you go with an expert tour guide and instructor and learn how to SUP if you’re a newbie to the sport.

You also leave from a beach on the other side of the Marina channel – so you’re in no danger of crossing the path of any boats and don’t have to finish by 10:00 am.

Hotel pick-up and drop-off is included in this Los Cabos Arch tour.

6) Day sailing tour to the Arch of Cabo and beyond

Of course, the Cabo coastline consists of more than the Arch and Land’s End.

And there are some great sailing trips that visit both the Arch plus one or two other top snorkeling spots like Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay.

Check out this popular 4-hour snorkeling and sailing cruise from Cabo Adventures.

Lounge on cushions and pillows scattered about the deck of a luxury sailboat as you first cruise by the Arch. You then head for Santa Maria Bay or Chileno Bay, where you anchor for snorkeling and SUP boarding.

You’re also treated to an open bar, along with fresh grilled shrimp, seafood ceviche and chicken Caesar salad for lunch. Fresh towels, snorkeling gear and SUP boards are included.

Cabo Blue trimaran in Cabo San Lucas

Alternatively, if you like to sleep in, you may prefer this highly-rated snorkeling and sailing afternoon excursion on the 48-foot Cabo Blue trimaran.

Leaving at 1:00 pm, it combines a Cabo Land’s End tour with snorkeling at Santa Maria Bay.

Enjoy sipping on ice-cold cocktails from the open bar as you relax under a shaded canopy on the boat. After cruising to the Arch, you sail to Santa Maria Bay to snorkel.

The boat carries SUP boards, so you can try the sport of stand-up paddleboarding too.

More than 300 happy sailors have given this Santa Maria Bay and Cabo Arch boat tour 5-star reviews on Viator.

Stand-up paddleboarding in Cabo San Lucas

In the winter, these sailing adventures offer whale watching too.

Humpback and other whales migrate to the waters off Cabo in the winter months to mate and give birth to their young. So between December and April, you’ll probably also get to marvel at some of the largest mammals on the planet up close!

Frequently asked questions about the Cabo San Lucas Arch

What is land’s end, cabo san lucas.

Land's End, Cabo San Lucas

Land’s End is a unique geological feature consisting of dramatic rock formations at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico.

It marks the point where the Sea of Cortez merges with the Pacific Ocean.

The highlight of this landmark is the iconic El Arco or Arch, a rugged symbol of the beauty of the region.

How was the Arch of Cabo San Lucas formed?

The Arch, which is part of the rock formations at Land’s End, was formed over millions of years through the process of erosion and weathering.

Over time, the wind and constant pounding of waves against the rock have worn away the softer rock, leaving behind only the harder parts that form the Arch.

Can you walk to the Arch in Cabo?

No, you can only get to the Arch via the water, be it by boat, kayak or stand-up paddleboard.

However, every few years, enough sand accumulates around the Arch and the tide recedes enough to reveal a hidden beach which runs from Divorce Beach under the Arch.

We were lucky enough to discover it one year. We were able to actually walk through the Arch and look at it from a unique vantage point.

Sand beach underneath the rock Arch of Cabo San Lucas

Mind you, we haven’t seen this sand beach underneath the Arch since that time.

Can you see the Arch at Cabo from the beach?

No, the Arch can’t be seen from Medano Beach.

One place, however, where you can see the Arch from shore is The Cape, a Thompson Hotel .

Its position at the northern end of the Cabo San Lucas Bay gives it great views – though they’re long distance views. It’s one of the best places to stay in Cabo .

That wraps up our guide on the Cabo San Lucas rock Arch!

No matter how many times we’ve visited the famous Arch in Cabo San Lucas, we never get tired of going out to visit it again.

This stunning natural wonder is a testament to the incredible power of nature and a must-see Cabo San Lucas attraction when you visit the area!

The incredible granite rock formations that extend to Land End in Cabo San Lucas have, over time, become much more than mere boundary markers or evocatively shaped oddities. The jutting promontory is a living symbol of the city, a sort of cinematic shorthand; and to see so much as a silhouette is to know exactly where you are in the world. In addition to its geographic and symbolic importance, Land’s End is also immensely important historically, and a thriving habitat for native flora and fauna, both above and below the waterline. Sea birds roost on craggy perches. Sea lions bask and bark. Marine life teems in the nutrient rich waters that hug the shore.

At dawn atop El Vigía (The Watcher), the large, humplike hill whose crest marks the high-point (500 feet) of the Land’s End headland, the rising sun covers land and sea with a blanket of red-gold light, before slowly unveiling the slow-rolling waves of the Pacific that stretch to the western horizon. It’s a scene that has been repeated innumerable times, and witnessed by innumerable generations of inhabitants, human and otherwise.

For some perspective, the Sea of Cortés was born about 5.3 million years ago. So for more than 25 million years–a vast expanse of time–tectonic plate shifting and other geological processes were inexorably moving the Baja California peninsula towards its present position.

Playa del Amor was often referred to as Doña Chepa, or Doña Chepita, after, as legend has it, a prostitute who had appropriated the area for business purposes. In fact, her activities may have suggested the beach’s current moniker, which, if true, somewhat lessens the romance factor. Nonetheless, this lovely golden sand beach and its gently sloping underwater shelf are among Land’s End’s greatest treasures. Just beyond Lover’s Beach is Neptune’s Finger, another granite pinnacle, this one in the shape, as the name suggests, of a slightly bent finger rising from the deep. Corals, sponges and sea fans are among the most common sights for visiting divers. And beyond that, the Window to the Pacific, a vertical keyhole crack in the rocks at Land’s End that allows boaters on the Sea of Cortés side to see through to the Pacific. Boobies and cormorants nest nearby.  El Arco, the great arch itself, is also the boundary marker. It divides land from sea–it is the last stretch of uninterrupted land reaching down from Alaska to the southern tip of the 800 mile long Baja California peninsula–sea from sky, and the Sea of Cortés from the Pacific Ocean. A must visit during your Vacation in Los Cabos.

Cabo San Lucas Arch

Arch of Cabo

The Cabo San Lucas Arch, known as El Arco, is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. It is a stunning natural rock formation that has become a symbol of Cabo San Lucas.

The Arch, part of the Cabos San Lucas Bay marine reserve, is a tourist must-see destination and one of the most popular attractions in Los Cabos.

  • Cabo San Lucas Bay Marine Preserve
  • The Sea Lion Colony

Why is the Arch in Cabo famous?

Cabo's arch

The monument is famous due to its unique natural rock formation. It is also located at the very end of the Baja California Peninsula, marking the southernmost tip of the North American Continent.

This Arch is a natural wonder formed over thousands of years of erosion by the sea and wind. It is a spectacular sight that draws in tourists from all over the world. People come to marvel at its beauty and take pictures.

Unique natural and cultural history

El Arco, also known as the Cabo San Lucas Arch, is a breathtaking natural wonder. It’s located at Baja California Sur’s southern tip, which is rich in cultural history. Here, the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

This iconic rock formation, believed to have originated from an enormous cave that collapsed due to erosion, showcases the region’s natural beauty and geological complexity.

Nature carved El Arco over millions of years, making it a landmark for sailors and fishermen. As a result, for many decades, it has drawn global visitors, captivating them with its beauty, activities, and history.

Los Cabos Arch and Lover's Beach Kayak Tour with Snorkeling

In addition to its natural allure, El Arco holds a religious significance for some. The Arch is named after Saint Luke (San Lucas), the patron saint of sailors and doctors. Local lore and religious practices sometimes converge at this natural monument. It is demonstrated when visitors and fishermen attribute divine protection and blessings to the Arch’s presence.

This blend of natural wonder and spiritual significance enriches the cultural tapestry of Cabo San Lucas, making the Arch a symbol of earthly beauty and celestial guidance.

Unique Natural History

The Arch and Land's End Area

El Arco is a product of volcanic activity, erosion, and the relentless forces of the sea. The granite rocks that form the Arch are believed to be part of the continental crust pushed to the surface millions of years ago.

Over time, wind and water erosion sculpted these formations into the shapes we see today, with the Arch being the most iconic.

The area is a vivid example of how natural elements can craft extraordinary landscapes over geological timescales.

The different ecological systems of the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California (the Sea of Cortez) interact to add to the unique biodiversity around the Arch.

Cultural History

The Arch has been a landmark for explorers, pirates, and fishermen for centuries. It has witnessed the passage of Spanish ships, the tales of pirates seeking refuge, and the local fishermen navigating its waters.

The indigenous habitants of the Baja California peninsula, including the Pericúes, likely held the Arch and surrounding lands in high regard, although specific historical records are scarce.

El Arco has become a symbol of Cabo San Lucas. It’s a natural wonder and a cultural icon, featuring prominently in local lore, tourism promotions, and photographic tributes to the area’s stunning beauty. As such, it was marked as a destination people from around the globe mark as a must-see.

The Arch Today

Private Los Cabos Arch & Playa del Amor tour by Glass bottom kayak

Today, the Arch is accessible by boat. Visitors flock to see this natural monument up close, partake in snorkeling and diving, or admire the views at sunrise or sunset.

The beaches near the Arch have their own stories. Lover’s Beach (Playa del Amor) and Divorce Beach (Playa del Divorcio) offer unique views of the Arch. They also provide stunning views of the surrounding sea.

The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a testament to the natural forces shaping our world. It also reflects the cultural narratives that deepen our understanding of these places. It embodies the intersection of natural beauty and human history, making it a significant and cherished landmark in Baja California Sur.

What happened to the Arch at Cabo San Lucas?

Cabo' Land's end from the Pacific

In 2017, after Hurricane Lidia passed, there were some reports that it caused a portion of the Arch to collapse, changing its appearance.

The Arch is a robust natural rock formation that has stood the test of time, shaped over millions of years by wind and water erosion. Natural structures like El Arco undergo continuous erosion and environmental changes. Events of collapse or significant changes are typically reported by news, environmental groups, or authorities. This is due to their significant impact on the ecosystem and tourism.

The Arch remains a popular and iconic tourist attraction, symbolizing the natural beauty and resilience of the Baja California Sur region. Any significant changes to such a well-known landmark would likely be documented to alert the public and to understand the processes affecting these natural wonders.

Can you see the Cabo Arch from the Land?

Cabo's Arch view from land

Yes, you can see the Cabo San Lucas Arch from the land. You can do that from a distance and be at the right angle. (The total distance is 3.65 km or 2.26 mi).

You have to go to an area called Cabo Bello, which is very close to the famous restaurant “Sunset Mona Lisa.”

There, at Cabo Bello, walking to the edge of the cliffs or the restaurant, you will see the Arch and the entire rock formation in its glory. It is truly a spectacular view.

Below:  Cabo Bello map. Click once or twice to zoom out , and you’ll see the Cabo Arch location at Land’s End in the bottom left of the map. The Cabo Bello area features the right angle to view Cabo San Luca Bay , the  Land’s End,  and  The Arch from the Land.

When can you walk under the Arch in Cabo?

Two girls and a sea lion at the background

Generally, it is not possible to walk under the Arch of Cabo. The Arch is located in the middle of the ocean and can only be reached by boat.

The option to walk under the Arch exists due to a rare phenomenon occurring every 3-4 years.

It is still being determined if the reciting of the ocean at a king low tide event is responsible for the event or if an accumulation of sand under the arch formation could be the reason. A combination of the two is likely to be the truth.

Depending on the currents and the tide every number of years, the low water tide exposes the beach. The sand then extends out under the famous landmark.

This rare occurrence offers visitors the chance to stroll beneath the Arch. The news then catches like fire. The event is one of the top things to do in Cabo San Lucas and Los Cabos.

How was the Arch of Cabo San Lucas formed?

Why is the arch in cabo famous, and how was it formed.

Over millions of years, the mighty waves of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez formed the Arch of Cabo San Lucas. The constant pounding of the waves against the rock caused erosion and eventually created the Arch.

Granite rock erosion

The erosion of granite rock in Land’s End at Los Cabos is a unique and dynamic process. Consequently, this process has shaped the stunning landscapes of this region, including The Arch.

Over time, the wind force, water, and weathering have sculpted the granite rocks, transforming them into the breathtaking scenery we witness. Additionally, the coastline of Los Cabos features cliffs, arches, and coves.

Granite rock formations are some of the most fascinating geological structures in the world.

The rocks formed through the solidification of magma below the Earth’s surface, comprising feldspar, quartz, and mica.

Granite rocks, renowned for their durability and resistance to weathering and erosion, make them ideal materials for construction and monuments.

Kayaking tour with hightide in Cabos San Lucas

Kayaking at the Arch in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

The arch is one of the most scenic spots in Cabos, and you should not miss it while you are there. We did the hightide kayak tour, and it was a great experience. Read on for my review of the trip.

Content of this article:

Getting to the Arch in Cabo

Many companies offer tour by boat, kayak or paddleboard to the arch. we choose High Tide as they have great reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed.

They came to pick us up from our hotel, Solaz Luxury Suite at 8:20. The pick-up van was on time, and it took us about 20 minutes to get to the beach in Cabos from where the Kayak depart. They also drove us back after our kayak session.

Kayaking tour with hightide in Cabos San Lucas

Kayaking to the Arch

Marco Polo and Sebastian were our guides for the day. They brought the Kayaks to the water and gave us a briefing on how to paddle.

We were quickly on our way. The landscape is stunning. We first passed the Lover’s beach and then Kayaked to the Arch. It takes about 30 minutes to get there and is a great work out for your arms. It beats going to the gym in the morning.

You can usually see sealions at the arch, but unfortunately, they were not there during our trip. The waves and the vista created a dramatic effect. It must be one of the most scenic beaches and rock formation in the world.

Kayaking tour with hightide in Cabos San Lucas

Snorkeling at Pelican’s rock

Our next stop was Pelican rock. Our guides gathered all the Kayaks and gave us masks and fins.

We all jumped in the water, which was surprisingly cold. ( about 22 degrees)

Tip: if you have a wetsuit, bring it as Hightide does not provide them.

It was lovely swimming in the water and looking at the fishes. Pelican Rock is a good place for beginners snorkelers as there was little waves or currents and lots of colorful fishes to look at. The reef was also very crowded with over 10 other boats around so if you are used to snorkeling, this might not be the best place for you.

We got back on our kayak as gracefully as we could and received some drinking water.

It was then time to kayak back to the beach.

We got back to our hotel by around 11:30 am and had the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the beach and pools at the hotel.

Kayaking at the Arch in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

The hightide Kayak tour is a great early morning way to see the Arch and do a bit of exercise. Our guide was very friendly and professional, and we had a great morning.

Face masks are extra but you will need one unless you want to inhale alot of dust! There is also a $20 park fee per person as shown in the booking. The trip goes through the desert mountains and then up and down a flat sand area where there are goats/donkeys/horses. After that, we were led to a beautiful beach as far as the eye could see. We saw 25+ whales during our hour spent there along with a huge manta ray jumping out of the water. I am told that going during sea turtle season is also very special! Our guide was phenomenal, the UTV was in great shape and seeing the whales on the beach was an amazing added bonus. I highly recommend! Read more Written January 22, 2024

Our guide, Santiago on the Happy Hour was very knowledgeable and reliable. We arranged to stay for 2 hours but the beach is small, very crowded and lacks accessible shade. I think we got a very fair deal but it just wasn't our thing. I do recommend looking out for our guide and boat. He was extremely reliable and gave us a good deal. • Jill A 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A nice treat on an overcast day Everybody was terrific. The gentleman who picked us up, the gentleman who greeted us at the ranch, the guide, the bartender…all so friendly! We were alone on our ride with our guide. I have more experience than my fella so we all went at my fella’s pace. What’s really cool is that the guide felt his horse wasn’t feeling well about 3/4 way through the ride so we stopped and a couple of others from the ranch brought an ATV for the guide to lead us back on. It must have been THE most boring ride for him, but I was impressed that he didn’t want to force his horse to keep going if it was ailing. They seemed to take good care of their horses. The ride itself went along a dirt road by a highway, then cut through some village areas where there were older communities plus construction of some high end places. Lots of cacti, flowers, trees, and of course the beach. Very good experience. Read more Written November 27, 2023

The only down side of this tour is that the guide focused too much on getting out pictures taken so they can sell you a package after the tour for an outrageous price. This tour would have gotten 5 starts if they would focus more on allowing people to enjoy the tour rather than taking their own pictures. I wouldn’t recommend this tour for that reason and that reason only. It took away from the experience and made it seem like they are in the taking pictures and selling you a package after the tour business. Moby has had a 'strange career' and he wouldn't have it any other way

bald man with short beard wears a dark suit and glasses. he holds a hand over his chest.

Moby says, "I had one of the most scary, embarrassing professional moments of my life on that tour," referencing his last Australian visit back in 2012.

The multi-million selling DJ and producer was in the country to play the now-defunct Summadayze festivals, alongside fellow party starters Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters, Calvin Harris and more.

"Snoop Dogg went on before me and his show was amazing," Moby recalls, speaking with Double J's Tim Shiel .

"He had maybe 15 people on stage. He played his greatest hits, and he played other people's greatest hits, there was a band and there was choreography. The audience loved him. It was one of the greatest live shows I've ever seen.

"When he was done, I was DJing. So, Snoop, and his 15-member entourage walk off stage and one little, weird DJ walks on. I was so uncomfortable.

"It was like kind of like going to see Led Zeppelin followed by their accountant playing records."

Thankfully it takes more than one awkward show to sour Moby's impression of our country, which remains one of the DJ and producer's biggest markets 35 odd years into his musical career.

"I've been to Australia probably 20 times in my life," he reflects. "The first time was very interesting, because I was playing two shows on New Year's Eve in 1994, going into 1995.

"I played at like four in the morning in Sydney, and then went to the airport, flew to Melbourne and played at, I don't know, 7:30 in the morning in Melbourne, and then flew back to New York.

"I realised I had spent more time in the air than I actually spent in Australia."

This was not especially wild by Moby's standards in the mid-1990s. As he grew to become one of the most in-demand DJs on the planet, he lived the life to match.

His memoirs — 2016's Porcelain and 2019's Then It Fell Apart — are packed with tales of intense debauchery as well as his wild work ethic, which saw him bring his music to parties the world over.

Those days, he says, are over.

"About 15 years ago, I got sober," he says.

"Once I got sober, maybe I shouldn't admit this in public, but I basically have become just like an old person. I go to sleep at 9:30 at night, I wake up at five in the morning, I go hiking, I do yoga.

"The idea of staying up all night to do anything other than watch a 30 Rock marathon seems terrible to me.

"In sobriety, my life is very healthy, but very boring and no good stories have arisen from it."

Moby is well versed in adapting to change. His musical vacillations have helped him create work that marries electronic music with indie rock, punk, and, as evidenced on his multi-platinum 1999 record Play, blues and roots.

"I've had such a strange musical background," he says.

"When I was very, very young I studied music theory and classical music. Then, when I was 14 years old, I started playing in a punk rock band. I became a hip hop DJ. I was a house music DJ… I was just doing all sorts of different things.

"But the entire time, especially when I was young, I never expected to have a career as a musician.

"I never expected to make records, let alone make records that anyone would listen to. And then, lo and behold, somehow I managed to cobble together this strange career."

Perhaps one of the strangest parts of this career came in 2021, when Moby released Reprise, his first orchestral album.

Released by esteemed, 125-year-old classical label Deutsche Gramophone, Reprise featured new arrangements of Moby songs played by the Budapest Art Orchestra, a string quartet, and guest artists like Mark Lanegan, Jim James, Gregory Porter, and Australia's own Alice Skye.

"Keep in mind Deutsche Gramophone is the oldest, most venerated record label in the world and here I am, a former punk rock kid working with an orchestra," Moby says.

"I still have a hard time making sense of the fact that this is what my life has become. I expected to be selling insurance or teaching community college part time. I certainly never expected to make orchestral records with Deutsche Gramophone."

The joyous power of house music

Moby is less surprised by the recent uptick in popularity his beloved house music has experienced in the mainstream in recent years. He was in the right place at the right time when the genre exploded for the first time and has remained in the box seat for every subsequent surge.

"I fell in love with house music in 1986, or 1987 when I first heard it, back in the days of Tracks Records, becoming friends with Frankie Knuckles, and going hanging out at [famed New Jersey haunt] Zanzibar with Tony Humphries," he remembers.

"The fact that it's never really gone away, and in fact it's bigger than ever, is both surprising and wonderful."

War, disease, political unrest, and a world more divided than it has been in decades might make for grim news bulletins, but it's in this challenging landscape that the house music's quest for euphoria thrives.

"As we all know, house music is celebratory," he says.

"It's this spirit of joy, and sensuality and celebration.

"I feel like, especially in very challenging, confusing, quasi apocalyptic times, having music that is celebratory and inclusive is almost a form of service."

Perhaps house music's greatest power is its artists reluctance to take an overt political stance, focusing instead on the broader human experience.

"Dance music in particular has never had an explicit political message, but it's almost a utopian message," Moby says.

"It's a message of inclusion, it's a message of peace. Even if it's not stated explicitly or lyrically, it's creating community, and it's creating that utopian environment.

"I am reminded of something I heard a while ago, which is that self-care is the first form of service. Meaning, you have to look after yourself. You have to take care of your health in order to be of service to anyone else. That old thing of, put your oxygen mask on your face before you try and help anyone else on an aeroplane.

"So, I do think there's a lot to be said for creating those utopian environments or even just simply utopian moments to remind people how good things could be."

Moby's new single You & Me is out now.

St. Vincent announces ‘All Born Screaming Tour’ with Spoon. Get tickets

The patron saint of indie rock is hitting the road.

St. Vincent just announced she’s swinging into venues all over North America for the ‘All Born Screaming Tour’ in support of her upcoming album with the same name.

Along the way, the “Roslyn” singer who’s sometimes known as Annie Clark will stop into Brooklyn’s newly opened Paramount Theatre for a pair of back-to-back gigs on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Wednesday, Sept. 11.

She’s not going it alone, either.

On select dates, she’ll be joined by iconic acts Spoon , Yves Tumor , Momma,  Eartheater and Dorian Electra.

Can’t wait for the indie event of the summer?

As of now, disciples of St. Vincent can pick up tickets for her concerts and pair of festival appearances.

Although inventory isn’t available for the tour on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 5, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Over Memorial Day weekend, St. Vincent will headline at Napa, CA’s annual, genre-spanning BottleRock Festival.

Other mega acts set to take the stage this year include  Stevie Nicks ,  Ed Sheeran ,  Norah Jones , Pearl Jam and  Queens of the Stone Age .

If this sounds like the fest for you,  grab BottleRock Festival tickets here .

Right as St. Vincent officially kicks off her tour, she’ll take a quick detour to lend her talents to Carnation, WA’s Thing Festival at Remlinger Farms on Aug. 9-11.

Black Pumas , Toro Y Moi , Spoon , Shakey Graves , and Killer Mike top this year’s impressive bill.

Click here to grab single and multi-day passes for the “eclectic and intimate” fest.

In October 2022, St. Vincent closed her sprawling tour in Las Vegas.

Here’s what she performed at that gig, courtesy of Set List FM .

01.) “Digital Witness”

02.) “Down”

03.) “Birth in Reverse”

04.) “Daddy’s Home”

05.) “Down and Out Downtown”

06.) “New York”

07.) “Los Ageless”

08.) “Fast Slow Disco”

09.) “Pay Your Way in Pain”

10.) “Cheerleader”

11.) “Fear the Future”

12.) “Year of the Tiger”

13.) “Your Lips Are Red”

14.) “The Melting of the Sun”

Thus far, St. Vincent has dropped two singles ahead of the release of “All Born Screaming.”

First up, she put out the hypnotic “Broken Man,” which pits industrial instrumentals against Clark’s signature raw vocals. The song’s steady build leads to an eruption that will surely be a highlight at upcoming live shows.

Then, she unveiled “Flea” in tandem with the tour announcement. This second track is pure unbridled rock and roll complete with sultry call-and-response vocals.

If you want to catch up with Clark’s music ahead of “All Born Screaming” hitting shelves, you can find the pair of tracks here .

Every show on the run will feature an impressive opening act kicking off the evening festivities.

As a quick reintroduction, here’s each artist’s most-streamed track on Spotify:

Spoon: “Inside Out”

Yves Tumor: “Limerence”

Momma: “Biohazard”

Eartheater: “Supersoaker”

Dorian Electra: “M’lady”

Many household names are taking it to the streets this year.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live these next few months.

•  Mitski

•  Sleater-Kinney

•  Olivia Rodrigo

• Norah Jones
