Built as the memorial to the soldiers of British Indian Army who lost their lives during World War I from 1914-1921, India Gate is now a popular place for people to visit for a relaxed time. This war memorial was designed by Edwin Lutyens, while its foundation was laid out by the then Duke of Connaught.

Another popular aspect of the India Gate is the Amar Jawan Jyoti, which serves as the India’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Inaugurated in 1972, this structure of Black marble and a reversed L1A1 Self-loading rifle with a helmet on it, has been built in the memory of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the war of 1971.

5. Red Fort

Residence of Mughals for more than 200 years, Red Fort Delhi was built in 1648, while its construction was started in 1639. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Red Fort is not only a representation of Mughal history in India but holds an equally important place even now. It is in Red Fort from where Prime Minister hoists Indian Flag on independence day every year. This garden tomb is located near the crossing of the Lodhi road and Mathura Road.

With a height of 42.5 meters, this structure presents a beautiful combination of Persian and Indian architecture. It is also considered as common architectural link between the Gur Emir (burial place for Tamerlane who was Humayun’s ancestor) and Taj Mahal which is the mausoleum of his grandson Shah Jahan.

8. Rashtrapati Bhavan

Another prominent sightseeing place in Delhi is the Rashtrapati Bhawan, which is home of the President of India. Built on an area of 330 acres in 1929, it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. The main building of the Rashtrapati Bhavan is spread across an area of 5 acres with four floors consisting of more than 340 rooms; it has 180 acres of garden area with 2.5 km of corridors. Its impressive architecture is worth visiting.

Qutab Minar : Qutab Minar is an excellent example of Afghan Architecture . The Minar is 72.5mts high victory tower, the construction of which began in the final year of twelth century by Qutubuddin Aibak and was later completed by his successor. It has been given World Heritage Site status.

Gandhi Smiriti: The Memorial consists of: (a) Visual Aspects to perpetuate the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the noble ideals he represented, (b) Educative Aspects to focus concentrated attention on certain values of life that made Gandhi a Mahatma, and (c) Service Aspects to introduce activities in order to subserve certain felt needs. On display in the Museum are photographs, sculptures, paintings, frescos, inscriptions on rocks and relics pertaining to the years Mahatma Gandhi spent here. The meagre personal effects of Gandhiji too are carefully preserved DRIVE PAST : India Gate, Parliament House, Embassies Area etc

Start Delhi city tour

This is approximately an 8 Hour tour, Our Driver will come to pick you at  09:00 AM (recommeded Start Time)  from the hotel in the morning. One the way you will meet your Tour Guide and he will assist in the sightseeing tour of Delhi.

Old Delhi Monuments Includes:

Red Fort:  Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Entrance is prohibited inside the fort but you can explore it from the outside. Chandni Chowk:  This is one of the busiest and oldest street of Delhi, which famous for small ornaments and local culture, enjoy a rickshaw ride over here and explore the best of it. Jama Masjid:  The largest mosque in India, built by the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1656

Before Proceeding to New Delhi monumnets, you will have lunch at the Restaurant.

New Delhi Monuments Includes:

Qutub Minar:  Also known as the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutb al-Din Aibak, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate in 1199. It is also a UNESCO's world Heritage site. Humayun Tomb:  This is a tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun and it was built by his son and one the most powerful Mughal Emperor "Akbar". India Gate:  India Gate is a memorial to the 82,000 soldiers of the undivided Indian army who died between 1914 and 1921 during World War One. Lotus Temple:  Also known as the Bahai House of Worship and it is designed in the shape of Lotus Flower. Presidential Buildings:  Enjoy a drive through the impressive diplomatic area, past Presidential House and the Parliament Buildings.

After Exploring Delhi you will be drop back to your hotel / at airport for your onward journey.
