It’s just been on screen with its new and twist filled Road to Tenerife series but Coach Trip is already on the hunt for more contestants.

Originally broadcast on Channel 4 from March 7 2005 30 June 30 2006, the programme returned after a three-year break in 2012 but in early 2013, the show went into hiatus again and was replaced by two new shows, Brendan’s Magical Mystery Tour and Brendan’s Love Cruise.

Much to its die hard fans relief, Coach Trip returned again in 2014 and since 2016 has been on Channel 4’s sister channel E4 with the spin-offs to date including Road to Marbs, Road to Ibiza and Road to Zante.

Latest series Road to Tenerife ended last month and and the team behind the hit show will start gathering contestants for the next one.

Appealing for people to apply via a Facebook video, Coach Trip’s famous tour guide Brendan Sheerin said: “If you’d like to join me on the next trip, all you have to do is get an application form from [email protected] and I’ll see you on the next trip and we’ll enjoy all these activities and these adventures together.”

You'll need to be available for selected dates between May 6 and July 8.

Coach Trip is reportedly making a comeback to our screens after being away for two years. 

Tour guide Brendan Sheerin is set to return as host on the fan favourite Channel 4 show.

As The Sun reports, filming is set to begin in September and is expected to arrive in 2022.

New celebrity guests will be setting off together and taking in the sights as Brendan get the show back on the road.

A source said: ‘Celebrity Coach Trip is a hugely popular programme and Channel 4 were keen to get another series in the bag as soon as it was deemed safe.

‘They’re going to start filming in September when it’s likely the world will be a little more back to normal.’

They added: ‘Everything will be filmed within Covid-19 safety guidelines but the show will look just as authentic as it usually does.’

Coach Trip has been taking people out on the road since back in 2005.

It’s not the first time Coach Trip has returned after time away. After the series aired from 2005 to 2006, it didn’t return for three years, airing from 2009 to 2012.

The most recent series in 2019 was won by Radio One DJ Adele Roberts and her girlfriend Kate Holderness, while the series also starred the likes of Diversity’s Perri Kiely and comedian Stephen Bailey.

It saw them travel across Europe and visit the likes of Saint Tropez and Barcelona.

Discussing his favourite destinations to take guests, Brendan said: ‘I used to live and work in Barcelona, so I always love going back there. t’s a beautiful city. It hasn’t been spoilt.’

‘There’s nothing like going down the Grand Canal in Venice, that’s amazing. I love Rome, Florence is stunning, Pisa. And the South of France is stunning, and the whole of Tuscany.’

Celebrity Coach Trip is back on E4 with a line up of fresh celebrity faces

After nearly two years, it’s finally time for international tour guide Brendan Sheerin to hit the road again in a brand-new series of Celebrity Coach Trip.  Brendan’s coach will be bursting with a fresh batch of celebrities, all eager for an action-packed European adventure.

The new series will kick off its run on the 3rd January 2022 on E4 at 8pm with the coach touring sunny Portugal. Brendan will welcome a host of famous faces who will travel in pairs to keep their place on the coach, and at the end of the tour be crowned the winners.

The first of our celebrity travellers boarding the coach and topping up their tans are: Presenter and stand-up Matt Richardson and actor and presenter Will Best ; actors Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph ; Geordie Shore stars Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale , members of girl band, The Honeyz, Celena Cherry and Mariama Goodman; and Olympian Ashley McKenzie with actor Paul Danan .

The celebrity pairs will enjoy a mix of excursions and cultural outings across the series. But, as ever, at the end of each day the pairs will vote on who they least enjoy travelling with. The pair who receives the most votes will get a yellow card; two yellow cards will see them given a red card and be sent home on the next flight, only to be replaced by a new celebrity pair to fill up the coach.

 Matt Richardson said: “I can’t wait to spend a holiday on a coach filled with Celebs. It’s what I normally do, so filming it just makes sense!”

Will Best said: “The chance to go on holiday with a mate, meet the icon that is Brendan, AND clear my rent arrears, all in one fell swoop? Yes please! Although if no one from Bananarama is on board I’m kicking off.”

Linda Robson said “Me and Lesley had the most exciting, wonderful time - loved every minute of our trip and am missing Brendan and all the trippers! Can’t wait for my family to see our adventure.” 

Lesley Joseph said “I love travel, and travel with a friend is even better, so the chance to go on holiday with Linda was too good to miss.  Not only that, we got to meet the wonderful Brendan – he is a legend.  We had such good fun, I hope the viewers enjoy it too. After months of lockdown it made it such a special experience.”

Sophie Kasaei said: “I have always been the biggest fan of Coach Trip from when I can remember. Forget all the other reality tv shows my dream was to do coach trip! I have been such a massive fan of Brendan, watching him with my family on weekday afternoons! The experience of travelling around Portugal with a bunch of celebs? Yes please! It was everything I could have imagined and more.”

James Tindale said: “I love meeting new people and getting out of my comfort zone and pushing myself so Coach Trip is right up my street.”

Celena Cherry  said “After being housebound for so long due to Covid, I couldn’t wait to get out there and touch and meet new people! Plus Brendan was an added bonus, always wanted to meet him!”

Mariama Goodman  said “I jumped at the chance to get away for some sunshine, silliness and adventure, and of course to meet Brendan!”

Ashley McKenzie  said “I’m used to travelling the world as part of the Great Britain Judo squad, but never have a chance to really experience or enjoy the places I visit, as I’m always there training or competing. Coach Trip gave me the opportunity to see new places and meet new people, which is why I decided to take part.”

Paul Danan  said “I’ve watched the show for years and always loved it, and thought it would be amazing to go on a road trip after doing a road trip with Calum Best and Fran Cosgrave on our own show back in the day. I’d never been to Portugal and wanted to be part of an iconic show and bring some Danan TV gold back again!”

Celebrity Coach Trip is produced by 12 Yard Productions, an ITV Studios owned indie, exec produced by Ben Stevens and Series Produced by Kit Simpson. THE future of a beloved Channel 4 show is in doubt following a schedule shake-up.

Coach Trip has been a staple part of the broadcaster 's schedule since its very first episode over 20 years ago.

The holiday programme, which aired on sister channel E4 , saw teams of two undertake a coach tour.

The contestants travelled around in a bus to various locations and voted to eliminate the least popular pairing.

At the heart of the show is professional tour guide Brendan Sheerin, who has been the host since its debut in 2005.

However, The Sun understands the show's future is very much in doubt - with a new series not currently planned.

Celebrity Coach Trip's Paul Danan claims it was 'brutal' & he needed therapy

Typically, a series of Coach Trip is filmed during the summer season - but no new episodes were recorded last year.

When approached by The Sun, a spokesperson refused to say if the show has been permanently axed.

They said: "A new series of Coach Trip is not in development at the moment, however it would be untrue to say that Coach Trip is not returning to E4."

Host Brendan, 63, previously liked tweets on social media from fans asking if there would be a new series of the reality show.

The last time there was a non-celebrity series of Coach Trip was 2019.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the show was put on hiatus for two years until travel restrictions were eased.

The most recent celebrity series aired on E4 last year which saw Birds of a Feather's Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph board the bus as well as Love Island winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp amongst other famous faces.

Brendan Sheerin

Born and educated in Leeds, Yorkshire, Brendan started his travel career in Costa Brava in the late 1970’s. Since which he has travelled extensively throughout the world including Oceania, the Americas, South East Asia, parts of Africa and nearly all of Europe. When Brendan is not travelling, his hobbies include going to the theatre and cinema, whilst to keep fit Brendan enjoys swimming and walking both on the beach and in the countryside. Brendan is represented by Paula McKie of agency Oakroyd , based in Yorkshire.
