A wonderful tour with an excellent guide!! Saw so much.

Italy's Best

This tour is great for seeing numerous cities and historical sites in Italy, a one day trip over the border into Lugano, Switzerland was just a true delight and icing on the cake. I have now learned that the Cosmos level is the "budget" label for Globus, so expect mostly 3 star hotels that are located outside of the major cities. This wasn't too much an issue as public transportation (metro/bus) or taxi's are available from each hotels if needed. Some of the hotels have poor air conditioning so if that's a priority for you then consider a Globus level tour instead. Overall, the hotel we clean. We found it difficult to plan our excursions as the itinerary they provide is very vague with regards to the times of the optional excursions, but these were clarified on day one as we asked our tour director and she was able to tell us if we had enough time to do some of things we wanted to do that weren't offered. Expect to get up early as the bus is usually on the road by 7:30 am, but that's necessary to get to the sites before the crowds. As far as the optional excursions go, the first dinner in Rome was a bit of a disappointment as it wasn't in central Rome, the food was mediocre and the service was fair, the highlight was two elderly Italian men playing and singing live music - famous old Italian songs- a lot of us complained about this so maybe Cosmos will change that venue? The other excursions are well worth it, takes the hassle out of dealing with transportation and getting tickets. The ones not to miss are the Tuscan Farm Dinner, Lugano Switzerland Cable Car, Capri, Pompeii. I would recommend this tour for those who don't require a luxury hotel, I am glad we were able to experience it!

Highlights of Ireland & Scotland

This was a fantastic tour. It was fast paced, and I was able to see a lot of Ireland and Scotland's highlights from the countryside's to the cities and villages. Our tour guide and bus driver were fabulous and quite entertaining.

While this tour was very well organised by Kaeleigh, I had issues regarding my room mate. This was settled and I was reimbursed. Cosmos were helpful. The itinerary was full on and lots to see. The tour guide was amazing !

Highlights of Germany

We really enjoyed the tour. It was a real rush, packing so much into only 10 days. There were only a few minor irritations which were provided in detail directly to Cosmos. I was not very satisfied with the service provided by TourRadar, however. .We asked several questions in the weeks before the tour and did not get answers and our tour package did not arrive until barely a week before the tour. By that point I was in such a panic that I contacted Cosmos to see what was wrong. They were most helpful. In future we will be dealing directly with companies like Cosmos rather than using TourRadar.

Focus on Scandinavia

Accommodations in Copenhagen and Stockholm were too difficult to get to and from using public transportation. Would drop visit to Vemork...story is interesting but the actual sight was disappointing. Also visit to Lillehammer ski jump was just ok; could also drop that from the tour. Would have liked more time in Oslo and Stockholm. Ali was a fabulous guide and all bus drivers were excellent drivers.

Grand Tour of Britain & Ireland

We felt there was too many places and not enough time Plymouth was a waste of time and Cardiff.we didnt see any thing of Fort William or Inverness and as for Hadrians wall what a joke !! Group photos at Anne Hathaway cottage but no time to see cottage or gardens .then dropped off at shakespeares birthplace for shops !! Long way to Culloden not to have time to go into the museum. Too many hours at Blarney on a wet day in the woolen mill. But apart from that Rosemary was fantastic Julian great driver took a while to warm... enjoyed our holiday but not one of our better cosmos experiences.

Scenic Switzerland by Train

It went well for the most part. The tour was very physical so being healthy and able to walk, climb stairs for extended periods of time is essential to this tour. At times it was difficult to follow the tour guide via the microphone headset. It was very warm throughout the tour and the hotels air conditioning systems either were not working ,ncapable of cooling the rooms and a couple didi not even have it. However, the trains were exceptional and the scenery of Switzerland was exactly why we decided on this tour! Thank you!

Grand Tour of Switzerland

Fantastic trip. We had exceptional weather which was a big plus. Scenery was spectacular, food was good, and accommodation was great. Great value for the money. Traveled with my wife Vicki who wanted to visit Switzerland since she was 10. Met some fabulous people from all over the world. Food good but expensive. Beer and wines were always good. Huge bonus. The Best of Europe with London

Well planned out tour with most of the popular sites included. Only downside was some of the accommodation was not close to the city centre

Grand Tour of France

Very accommodating , organised , happy and helpful with a large group. One of the best guides /organisers . Only critique , 3 x small hotel rooms for 2 x single guys , no room to open 2nd suitcase ! 2 x meals also let the tour down Mr Cosmos . ON LAST NIGHT HOTEL ROOM THE PITS, we both paid 35 euros to get a single room each, it was that bad. Waiting for Cosmos to respond to their feed back form' Outstanding tour, itinerary, guide and driver, let down by company decisions/ penny pinching , just a great experience let down by above and mostly overpriced optional extras

Wonderful! First time traveling outside of the US alone. It was a beautiful tour! Henry was amazing! He was full of knowledge and fun facts. The itinerary was awesome and well organized. So happy I went! I made life long friends sling the way! Recommend and will be using this tour again soon! Just book it! You’ll love it!

Check in took one and a half hours I have never seen anything like it. The cue was almost going outside the hughe lobby because there were to many people that wanted to check in. The personal is extremely unfriendly, unhelpful, incompetent and also very impolite and bossy. We had to fill out extra identity cards with all our details even though they copied our passports. They asked if we wanted 1 or 2 cards and luckily I asked for two for me and my girlfriend. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to enter the room because everytime a security at the elevator will ask for each of your cards. It feels like passport control. At night you are able to witness prostitution at its finest. Sitting at the bar you can see many girls in fancy dresses and high heels jousting for their rich prey. You can witness salesman talk from first hand with these fine ladies and the hotel staff are all in with it. The security lets these women through without any checks but when my girlfriend forgot her card the security man treated her like a prostitude herself which doesn't work for the hotel and I had to go up and collect her card. All while we could witness these women walking by going after there business. That is unacceptable and also illegal in the Russian federation! I had to go up and collect her card?! To come to the rooms: they are old and you can see that. Mold in the bathroom, stains on the carpet and the windows haven't been cleaned since the seventies. The only good thing is the view if you are on the upper floors. The towels were stinking, even every time they were replaced. The bathtub didn't get full because the block was not tight. And there were stains on the bed sheets, very unappetizing. I have stayed in other hotels in Moscow for around the same price and they all managed to make my stay comfortable and nice. This hotel definitely fails totally in that regard and makes you feel even inferior to Hotel and staff. Moscow is a lovely city and if you want to have a good time please don't choose this hotel!

This hotel was built in 1979 and, for the most part, it feels like it's still 1979. It's a huge hotel and popular with tour groups, so if a lobby full of them isn't your thing, that's something to think about. Similarly, the clubs will not be to everyone's taste. The rooms and common areas are clean and functional but average to below average due to their age. The hotel is in need of some serious renovation. There is wifi but it doesn't work well in the rooms. It's fine in the lobby. There are water coolers on each floor where you can get hot and cold water for drinks. The escalators only run during certain hours, which can make arrivals and departures inconvenient if at off hours as you have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. The elevators are also very Soviet-era. The doors close quickly and with some force, so one needs to be mindful of that. We only got stuck between floors once and just for a short time. One plus for the hotel is the breakfast buffet, which is not fancy but does have a reasonably wide selection of food and is pretty tasty. I enjoyed the breakfast a lot. There is also plenty of seating. We tried one of the other restaurants in the hotel and the food was certainly fine, but it was not inexpensive, they were out of a lot of things, and the staff weren't the most enthusiastic about their roles. The front desk and concierge staff were all fine. I think the big selling point for the hotel is that it's not terribly expensive and is in a nice location with ready access to a number of attractions and public transport.

Nothing really sticks out about this hotel other than its amazing view. Interior is bland, with no air conditioner/heater control. The free wifi barely worked, making it necessary to go to the lobby. It is easy enough to get to by subway and it's hard to miss. It's ok for the price.

Beautiful exterior but horrid interiors. Terrible rooms that stink. Not just the rooms but the lobby on every floor reeks. The attitude of the staff at the hotel is also bad. The food is the only plus point. I had booked a room the hotel as it was the venue of a popular dance (kizomba) congress.All my friends who were staying at the hotel had the exact same experience. Another point to note is that the hotel has a strip club in its premises. So the crowd that comes there later in the evening is rather shady.

• Cleanliness

Location is superb!!! From outside hotel looks amazing!!! The lobby grand and beautiful. Looks very modern untill you go upstairs.... I have booked a room with three beds. Plus contacted hotel staff in advance asking to make sure there are 3 separate beds. When we arrived the room wasn't ready.. receptionist checked us in, then 40 mins later a housekeeper came in with the 3rd "bed".... Rooms are very dated... Night light s lead was "fixed" with a bit of tape. I wish I took a picture. I would say last time decorated in late 90s. No toothpaste, toothbrushes etc... Just liquid soap in a dispenser. When I asked a cleaner that came in, she answered "all at extra charge". One of the pillows was SOOO hard.... You could only sleep while seating up!!! I mean you couldn't bend it if you really tried!!! Please note it was a renovated room for extra charge! Don't want to know how outdated standard rooms are. No way this is a 4* hotel!!! On a positive note , breakfast was really good and it was really clean.

Cosmos Hotel in Moscow - Live Close To The Stars

Ostankino is famous for Moscow TV-tower, botanical garden, the Cosmonautics Museum and the All-Russia Exhibition of Achievements of the People's Economy just in front of the hotel. Exhibition of Achievements of the People's Economy is a quite impressive architectural ensemble,  definitely worth seeing even if you are not into architecture at all.

The comfortable standard rooms start at €50 for single and €90 for twin or double.  Meanwhile, the “suite” rooms start at €120 for single and €200 for double. Rates include a buffet breakfast).

Cosmos hotel provides a variety of services and facilities including laundry, travel and business services. The hotel is also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, among which "Kalinka" is the most famous one.

There are eight types of rooms in the Cosmos hotel which are all equipped with fridges, alcoholic or non-alcoholic mini-bars, telephones with bathroom extension, TV with international and Russian satellite channels and Internet access facility, an indoor pool and a Jacuzzi.

Suite rooms are equipped with non-touch door locks, hair-dryers in the bathrooms and nicely furnished in European traditions. Breakfast for the Cosmos Club guests is served on the 25th floor in the Planet Cosmos restaurant with a panoramic view of Moscow from a 99-meter height. The nearest metro station to the hotel is VDNKh (you have just to cross the road). And it will take you about 15 minutes to get to the very center of the city.

Moreover, there is some adventurous aftertaste in saying, "I've been living in cosmos !" ("cosmos" is the Russian term for "outer space").
