A guide to the best crystals for safe travel

Do you get tense or nervous when travelling? Whether you’re worried others may cause an accident, or find the bustle of busy airports and stations overwhelming, these nine crystals can promote safe travel.

Travelling can be a mind expanding experience – but that doesn’t mean it’s stress-free.

Busy airports, delays and road congestion make any journey difficult. Many people also feel anxious about their safety, particularly when flying or visiting foreign countries.

The good news is that healing crystals can promote safe and enjoyable travel. If you have a fear of flying, feel outside your comfort zone, or are just home sick, these nine crystals and gemstones may help.

Quick Navigation

Which are the Best Crystals & Gem Stones for Travelling?

Amethyst

1. Amethyst (Stone of Spirituality, Contentment and Meditation)

Colour : Purple to Lavender Chakra : Crown and Third Eye Origin : USA, Mexico, Canada, Russia, India, Sri Lanka, Britain, Brazil, Uruguay, Siberia, Africa

Amethyst has traditionally been used for protecting travellers against thieves. But it has other attributes that make it a crystal to take on your next journey.

With its soothing energy and calming influence, amethyst helps you find a balance between common sense and an easy-going attitude when travelling. This can reduce anxiety when making a decision, so you have a more pleasant and safe journey.

Besides soothing anxieties, amethyst’s protective nature promotes a peaceful journey whilst shielding you against negative energies.

Black Tourmaline

2. Black Tourmaline

Colour : Black Chakra : Root Origin : Brazil, Zimbabwe, Australia, USA, Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka

Black tourmaline is the master for protection when travelling.

Its grounding properties can protect against the negative energies of frustrated drivers and fellow travellers in airports. In fact, it’s one of the best all-round crystals for protection. You may also find it useful in other crowded environments, such as tourist attractions or train stations.

Aside from its energetic shielding, black tourmaline can promote a more positive and laid back approach when travelling. If you need a bear hug of reassurance, it’s a great crystal to choose.

Tip for Using Black Tourmaline: Carry or wear black tourmaline on the left-hand side of your body, as it’s believed energy enters your aura on the left.

Malachite

3. Malachite (Stone of Transformation)

Colour : Green Chakra : Heart and Throat Origin : Romania, Zambia, Russia, Germany, Middle East, Australia

Malachite is the Guardian Stone for Travellers. It protects against accidents and is a must have for your collection when travelling.

This crystal’s immense power of transformation encourages you to take responsibilities for your actions. This allows the “ego” to take a back seat, making for a safer journey.

If you’re fearful when flying, suffer from vertigo or have a deep-seated dread of congested highways, Malachite’s protective nature will calm you and surround you with loving energy. These range of benefits make it one of the best stones for travel.

But be mindful: should it start to crumble it’s said that danger is imminent!

Moonstone

4. Moonstone (Stone of New Beginnings)

Colour : White, Cream, Yellow Milky Sheen Chakra : Crown Origin : Sri Lanka, India, Australia, USA

Moonstone is a lovely healing stone if you’re travelling, as it’s thought to bring luck and joy to your adventures. It’s also useful for soothing motion sickness and can ease feelings of being home sick when abroad or away for long periods.

With its links to the moon and reputation for being a traveller’s stone, moonstone is said to lighten pathways and protect you when travelling at night. It’s also an excellent stone for protecting against road rage, accidents over water and easing symptoms of jet lag.

Yellow Jasper

5. Yellow Jasper (Supreme Nurturer)

Colour : Yellow Chakra : Solar Plexus Origin : India, Russia, Australia, Venezuela, USA, Brazil, Uruguay, South Africa

Yellow jasper is a talisman for protection when travelling both physically or spiritually.

It stimulates and balances the solar plexus , which reduces the stress and anxieties that can sometimes occur when travelling. So, if you’re out of your comfort zone or have lost your sense of direction, yellow jasper can ground you and give a welcome boost to confidence levels.

Yellow jasper is also a sunny stone of happiness. Take it in your suitcase for protection and to enhance mental clarity and positive energy. It can also help ease motion sickness.

Tiger's Eye

6. Tiger’s Eye (Stone of the Mind)

Colour : Brown, Yellow, Red Chakra : Solar Plexus, Root Origin : Mexico, USA, South Africa, Australia, India, Brazil, Thailand

Tiger’s eye has a myriad of healing properties that make it a good crystal to choose when travelling.

Combining the earth and sun energy, this gemstone can keep you grounded whilst promoting enthusiasm for exploring new places.

It’s also a stone that promotes courage, releases fear, protects against negativity and provides an overall sense of mindfulness, which are all beneficial when travelling.

Smoky Quartz

7. Smoky Quartz (Stone of Cooperation)

Colour : Light to Dark Smokey Grey/Brown Chakra : Root Origin : Worldwide

Smoky quartz is a wonderful crystal for absorbing negative energy. It’ll help relieve tension and can protect you around erratic drivers or stressed travellers.

It’s also a peace token. So, if you’re feeling unsure of your surroundings or need more clarity, holding smoky quartz brings a calming sense of awareness.

As well as physical travel, smoky quartz can boost intuition during spiritual travel.

Tip for Using Smoky Quartz:  Smoky quartz with amethyst makes a powerful tool for travelling safely.

Aquamarine

8. Aquamarine (Stone of Courage and Protection)

Colour : Pale Blue/Green Chakra : Throat Origin : Brazil, Madagascar, USA, Russia, Mexico, India, Afghanistan, Mozambique

Aquamarine’s lovely soothing energy makes it a talisman of good luck for sailors and those travelling on or over water.

Ancient folklore says Aquamarine was the treasure of mermaids. Coming from the Latin Aqua Marinus, meaning ‘water of the sea,’ and combined with it being a Stone of Courage and Protection, this is a wonderful gemstone to travel with.

Aquamarine can also bring a sense of joy to your travels, alleviate stress, calm over-wrought emotions and help avoid delays.

Rose Quartz

9. Rose Quartz (Stone of Unconditional Love)

Colour : Pink Chakra : Heart Origin : USA, Japan, India, Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico

Rose quartz is the crystal of love. So, can you imagine how self-love can enhance your experience when you travel?

By imbuing yourself with compassion and love, you’re tuning into the best version you can be. This amplifies positivity and enhances how you react to situations.

Travelling alone in unfamiliar places can be unnerving. But rose quartz’ loving properties can reduce home sickness, attract positive energies and maybe even protect against accidents.

BONUS CRYSTAL: Shungite (Stone of Life & Winner of Nobel Peace Prize 1996)

Shungite

If you want a crystal for airports, this is the one!

Shungite, with its natural fullerene (carbon) content, can shield against electromagnetic fields emitted by mobile phones, laptops and security scanners in airports.

Tip for Using Shungite: Due to its powerful antioxidant properties and purifying ability, take a shungite elixir with you when travelling. You can also place shungite stickers on the backs of your phone, and shungite pyramids by computers and routers.

Other Tips for Using Crystals and Stones for Safe Travel

The energetic vibrations of the above crystals for travel can help protect you from erratic behaviours and negative energies. They can also bring calmness and clarity.

Here are a few ways to get the most from these crystals:

  • Wearing crystals in jewellery, such as rings, bracelets and necklaces, is an easy way to travel with them.
  • Place crystals in your luggage, handbag, purse or pocket to minimise negative influences on journeys.
  • Make a travel pouch with several different crystals. Place it in your bag or suitcase to benefit wherever you go.
  • If you’re staying in a hotel, lay a crystal grid around your bed or place your favourite crystals on the bedside table whilst you sleep.
  • Make a crystal cleansing spray before you travel so you can cleanse any stagnant energies in cars, hotel rooms, airplanes or train carriages.
  • Don’t worry about choosing smaller stones that take up less space. This won’t affect the crystal’s energetic properties.

Note: While crystals for travel can protect against negative energies, don’t rely on them for travel safety. Proper planning, researching your destination, and using common sense are vital.

Angel Grotto Angel Icon

Which Angels are Associated With Travel?

St Christopher is the Patron Saint of Travel. Some people like to protect themselves by carrying a St Christopher medal with them to invoke a blessing. However, you can also call upon the angels to protect you.

The ones I most associate with safe travel are:

  • Archangel Michael   (Archangel of Safe Travel)  – Archangel Michael releases fear and offers protection when travelling.
  • Archangel Raphael (Patron of Travelling)  – Archangel Raphael has a green aura and is linked to the healing crystal of malachite.

Modern transport has made travel more accessible, safe and enjoyable. But it’s also caused a culture of short-tempers, frustrating queues and negative energies.

These nine crystals, with their links to safe and enjoyable travel, ensure you stay grounded and protected from negative energy. They can also allow your common sense and intuition to guide you.

My favourite crystal for safe travel is malachite. It’s the Guardian Stone for Travellers and gives the sense of protection from accidents whilst empowering me to take responsibility for my actions.

Good Morning,

Is it safe to pair malachite with these other crystals? Thank you, Maria

Yes, malachite is pretty versatile. It works well with copper-based crystals, other green crystals or earth element stones, but can be paired with any of these “Safe Travel” crystals. Don’t use it in elixirs though.

I found your site by accident (or maybe the crystals pointed me to you) I am travelling to Canada on my own so require protection. I asked the crystals that I already had but they did not seem happy – as I was in town I went to a crystal shop (used before) for a piece of Malachite, while there two more crystals made themselves known to me so I purchased them and brought them home. I now feel that I can travel more easily and be less nervous.

On my return I will be coming back to your page to read and digest more information

Hi Rachel, thank you for your comment and I’m glad this article was helpful to you. Have a great time!

I hope this guide to the best crystals for travelling helps you choose which ones are right for your trip!

I’ve never understood much about mysticism.

Energies, chakras, third-eyes, and so on…It’s always been a bit beyond me.

But mysticism’s gone mainstream elsewhere!

For instance, there’s been a 40% increase in Google searches for “crystal healing” in recent years, and the alternative medicine market’s now worth $200 billion .

People clearly get value from it all. And crystals, in particular, seem to hold a special allure.

I first took an interest in crystals and stones for travel recently, when I met my girlfriend, who keeps a few on her bedside table.

Through her I learned just how many people take them on their travels and why they do it! Among other things, crystals for travel and adventure are said to provide safety from harm and negative energy.

All of these sentiments sparked my curiosity and got me wondering:

What are the best crystals for travelling ?

I ended up doing some research and it turns out there are masses of travel crystals to choose from! So, I decided to compile a list of all the ones I came across.

With any luck, it’ll help anyone in their hunt for the best crystals for travelling protection! Sound good? Keep reading to discover the best crystals for travel safety I could find.

How to Use & Store Your Crystals for Travel Safety

I thought I’d start by looking at how the best crystals for travel protection are supposed to work.

Some people reading this will already be crystal experts. If that’s you, then obviously feel free to skip ahead! Others (like me), might need a bit of guidance.

Nicely, no real restrictions seem to exist around how to use crystals (in general, or on the road).

You stand to gain simply by having them around. That said, you’re meant to work with the crystal. It’s not quite the same as popping a paracetamol to get rid of pain.

No, you need to focus in on what you want support with. With the intention set, the crystal is said to work that bit better.

Harness them in all sorts of ways. Simply carrying crystals with you is said to help- within a piece of jewellery, inside your bag or in a pocket.

Similarly, you can try placing them on parts of your body.

Placing a specific crystal on or near a certain body part will have a particular effect! It depends on the stone itself though and what you’re hoping to achieve.

You can also incorporate them into meditative practices and yoga. Hold them in your hand, attend to how you feel, and connect with them at a deeper level.

The best crystals for safe travel will vary depending on your personal needs.

Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Crystals for Safe Travels

How do you know which crystal for safe travel is right for you? After all, there are lots to choose from. Realistically, you can’t take them all on your travels!

Hopefully, the following tips should help you make up your mind.

1. Go with Your Gut When Choosing a Travel Stone

We’re often naturally drawn to one thing over another.

Be sure to listen to your instincts when going through the list below. I read that some mystics claim the crystal chooses you, rather than the other way around.

Your natural inclination towards particular crystals for safe travel and protection is this process in action. If this list doesn’t cut it, then head into a shop to browse the aisles in person.

2. Think About Your Needs when Picking Crystals for Traveling

You wouldn’t just go along and take some else’s medication, right? It’s not meant for you! The same sort of thing goes for crystals.

They’re inherently personal items, which means what’s right for one person may not be right for another.

It’s your job to find one (or a selection of them) that’ll work for you .

Reflect on your individual worries and needs. What is it about travel that frightens you? What particular input would be most helpful?

You might want crystals for positivity, crystals that promote positive energy, crystals for protection and healing, crystals for negative energy removal, and so on.

With this knowledge in mind you can more easily choose the best crystals for safe travel.

3. Less is More When Choosing Travel Protection Stones

It might be tempting to take masses of crystals on your trip, but starting out with one or two might be the better bet.

After all, too much of anything can become detrimental, and carrying a mass of stones on the road would be a little impractical. You’d risk losing them too!

As you’ll see, there’s quite a lot of overlap amongst the best crystal for travelling anyway. Sure, they each have their own unique qualities, but there are shared benefits to them too. The result?

You might not need many to satisfy your needs.

Crystal collections are best built over time. Buying masses at once might make it difficult to distinguish which stone is having what effect.

4. Don’t Overthink the Selection Process of Crystals for Travel protection

It’s tempting to spend hours researching the best stone for travel protection. However, you might be rewarded by speeding up the process.

Our head often gets in the way of our heart; we talk ourselves out of action by applying reason to the decision. In other words, we get in our own way.

There may not be the perfect crystal for travel. Going with your gut can save you time and undue concern about ‘getting it right’. Feel now, think later.

On to the guide itself. Here are 35 of the best stones for travel I could find.

The Best Crystals to Travel With: a Quick Caveat

The list of the best stones for safe travel is coming, I promise! I just wanted to add a little disclaimer before I get to it.

I’ll be honest: my ignorance about crystals and all things mystical may well become clear in the coming list!

Basically, in my mind, crystals, stones, and gemstones are different things! I structured the list accordingly.

However, people online seem to use the terms interchangeably. The same item will be described as a crystal and/or stone, depending where you look.

I apologise in advance if I’ve made some glaring error, or mislabelled anything by accident.

I’m reassuring myself by thinking the main thing you’ll be after is the effect, rather than exact terminology! Stone, crystal, gemstone…Hopefully, if it works, it works. Forgive me if I’ve made a mistake though, and feel free to correct me in the comments!

1. aquamarine.

I love being around water. It’s just intrinsically calming and soothing. No matter what’s going on in the world, the gentle presence of water inevitably helps.

The same is said to occur with Aquamarine, the crystal. It’s a first choice for many people looking for travel crystals for protection. It’s meant to bring peace and quiet to a burdened heart and mind and should clear your head, relieve conflict, and promote clarity too.

What’s more, it’s said to help you feel fearless, while boosting your levels of luck and protection.

Peridot seems a top choice for clearing out intensely negative emotions.

Everything from anger and depression, to fear and jealousy should be soothed.

Travel is meant to be the time of your life. Such negative feelings can sour the experience. Any support in getting rid of them should be welcomed.

I’d still take your inhaler though, just in case.

Travel Idea: Peridot Necklace

7. Phenacite

I saw differing opinions about the benefits of Phenacite.

You might want to do a little more research on this one.

However, the positive that stood out to me related to its potential to assist rapid personal growth. Travel is the ultimate self-development tool. If Phenacite can help out too, then be sure to take it along.

Watermelon Tourmaline sounds like a crystal that’ll protect you from yourself.

It’s easy to be our own worst emotion-filled enemy on the road.

It’s one of the best crystals for stress out there. Say goodbye to stress and hurt. Say hello to calm and positivity.

10. amethyst.

Amethyst sounds like a great all-rounder to take on your travels.

It’s said to support insomnia and exhaustion, among other health-related issues. Knowing how tiring travel can be, that definitely sounds like a positive.

However, the true benefit is more general: amethyst is known for being a good-luck charm. That makes it a top choice of all good energy crystals. People throughout history have carried it for protection and positivity.

For these reasons (and as one of the most powerful protection crystals in general), amethyst would be a great addition for the road.

11. Smokey Quartz

Not gonna lie, I like the name of this one. It totally sounds like a jazz musician from the ‘50s, or something!

Thankfully, the positives don’t stop there…It’s commonly listed online as one of the top crystals for protection from negative energy.

Take Smokey Quartz on your travels to disperse fear and general negativity. It’s a crystal that neutralises and detoxifies. You’re meant to enjoy greater levels of calm, while reducing stress and anxiety.

That’s all good news for travel, where all of these difficult emotions can be felt.

12. Lemurian Quartz

I saw this crystal referred to as a ‘master crystal’ in my research.

It sounds like a goodie.

Masses of mystical-sounding descriptions accompanied Lemurian Quartz. I’m not gonna lie, they lost me a bit. The general benefit of carrying it seemed related to healing.

Lemurian is said to promote self-awareness, healing, and cleansing. It can help you feel light and hopeful, and a deeper sense of connection and peace.

Travelling is fantastic at confronting you with your flaws. It’s a perfect time for healing, progress, and transition. If Lemurian Quartz lives up to its name, then it’d sure come in handy.

13. Citrine

Citrine’s a beautiful looking stone…even if it sounds a bit like a cleaning product.

The bright yellow immediately catches the eye.

This relates to its function. Citrine is said to promote mental focus and power. It’s a transformative effect, converting negativity into positivity.

Citrine’s a stone of good vibes. There’s always room for good vibes on the road.

Travel Idea: Citrine Bracelet

14. Rhyolite

Rhyolite is all about feeling good about yourself.

Carry it to enhance your levels of self-worth, esteem and respect. It’s about accepting who you are and asking others to do the same. Inner strength and fortitude expand as a result.

It’s also meant to help you connect to nature. Travelling and nature often go hand in hand. Connecting with it on a deeper level is always a good thing.

Travelling can be a lonely journey. Feeling happy in yourself and your own company can take you a long way.

Travel Idea: Rhyolite Bracelet

15. Tree Agate

To see Tree Agate is to understand its name.

There’s something inherently natural about it- helped by the green coloration amongst the white. It’s a genuinely beautiful looking stone/crystal.

Understandably, its meaning and function is meant to pertain to nature too. It’s about connection to the outdoors. But there’s more:

I like the sound of Fluorite.

It’s meant to support all sorts of things that I tend to struggle with!

For one thing, alongside handling negative energy in general, it’ll ward off stress. Even better, having fluorite is meant to boost positivity, concentration and feelings of self-confidence.

Your ability to learn will improve, so will your decision-making and coordination. It’s good news all-round!

The following section of the list details the best protection stones for travellers. Enjoy!

The Best Protection Stones for Travellers (i.e. the Best Stones for Safe Travel!)

On to the best protection stones for travellers. These would all make great additions to anyone’s travel packing list.

17. Malachite

Malachite is beautiful.

I was immediately struck by it when I came across it online.

It’s also said to be the perfect travel companion. Why?

Well, it’s referred to online as a guardian stone for one thing. If protection overseas is what you’re after, then its nickname bodes well for you.

Malachite is supposed to help keep you from harm. It is top of the list for protection stones and crystals I learned about. Whether that means long flights or distant adventures, it’s meant to come in handy. You’re also going to enjoy its support of change and transformation.

That makes malachite an epic all-rounder for a traveller.

Travel Idea: Malachite Earrings

crystal travel bracelet

18. Moonstone

I read that this one’s often literally referred to as ‘the traveller’s stone’ in folklore tales.

Again, it’s another beautiful stone to look at. There’s a depth and detail to moonstone that surpasses that of others on this list.

Moonstone’s meant to help out in a host of ways. Primarily, it’s there to protect you from harm. But you’ll also enjoy heightened sense of calm and a lack of stress.

Moonstone is said to lift the spirits too. All in all, it seems like a mighty good stone for any traveller to take with them.

Travel Idea: Moonstone Ring

19. Yellow Jasper

Here’s another crystal that sounds ideal in almost every way- especially for travelling.

Yellow Jasper is said to be a guiding hand; it keeps you on track to where you’re headed. It’s meant to facilitate grounding in turbulent times, reducing negative emotions like stress and anxiety in the process.

Self-confidence, stability, and positivity are all helped too.

And, practically speaking, it’s meant to sort out feelings of nausea and motion sickness. That’s good news for any travelling afflicted with these issues.

Travel Idea: Yellow Jasper Bracelet

20. Mother of Pearl

Here’s another that harnesses the power of water.

This time it’s in relation to the ocean.

Mother of Pearl is another beauty. I reckon just looking at it makes you feel that bit more chilled out! You’ll welcome its catalyst for imagination and adaptability too.

Likewise, look forward to feelings of harmony and oneness. I get the impression that Mother of Pearl is about soothing and all-round care. Just as you turn to your actual mum in times of distress, the stone can serve a similar function.

Travel Idea: Mother of Pearl Tree of Life Earrings

21. Shungite

Shungite was referred to as a “miracle stone” online.

That’s high praise, to be sure. However, if it lives up to its reputation, you could understand why it earned that name. It does seem somewhat miraculous.

To start, Shungite’s said to have healing and protective properties. Your wellbeing is in safer hands thanks to its support of your immune system and energy levels.

Similarly, you’re meant to feel more balanced in mind and body; protected and purified in equal measure.

Travel has a habit of exposing you to sickness and nausea. It also takes it out of you spiritually and emotionally. Any health benefits Shungite might offer would be happily received.

Travel Idea: Shungite Pyramid (5cm)

crystal travel bracelet

22. Bloodstone

Bloodstone is another crystal for travel that can live up to its name from an aesthetic standpoint!

There’s something a little sinister about its appearance sometimes- it can be very much blood-like in nature.

However, mum was right, we should never to judge a book by its cover. Far from anything negative, it’s said to provide its owner with a host of good stuff.

Creativity gets a boost, you feel more grounded in the moment, and your intuition is heightened too.

Again, creativity, presence and intuition all help in their own ways on the road.

Travel Idea: Bloodstone Reiki Skull

crystal travel bracelet

23. Blue Calcite

Here’s another stone if you expect to struggle with nervousness and anxiety on the road.

Blue Calcite is said to have a soothing effect. But its major benefit is its support of rest, recuperation and relaxation.

Travels can serve an awesome restorative function. Coming home from your travels is to feel like a whole new person. You’ll feel rested, relaxed, and ready for what life has to throw at you again.

Travel Idea: Blue Calcite Heart (Hand Carved)

crystal travel bracelet

24. Angelite

Heavenly by name, heavenly by nature.

Angelite is utilised to bring a greater sense of peace and togetherness. It’s about love, connection and spirituality. You’re said to feel more connected to your higher self too.

It should help heal sore emotions, and support your spiritual journey.

Travel Idea: Angelite Necklace

crystal travel bracelet

25. Obsidian

Obsidian is another striking travel stone to look at.

This dark black volcanic stone has a depth to it. It also looks a lot like dragon glass (for all Game of Thrones fans reading this). That might be enough to convince you it is right for your travels.

You can say you’re carrying it for the protection it provides against negativity and mental stress.

In reality, you’re doing your best John Snow impression and keeping an eye out for white walkers.

Travel Idea: Obsidian Prism/Wand

crystal travel bracelet

26. Sardonyx

Sardonyx sounds like something straight out of Pokemon.

But, in actual fact, this stone is said to serve an important function that’d be perfect for travellers:

It’s said to attract good friends and promote even better fortune. Equally, you’ll benefit from newfound levels of protection and strength. Finally, there’s the added bonus of acting more virtuously and with greater integrity.

It helps you become a better person, and should lead you down a positive path all around.

Travel Idea: Sardonyx Bracelet

crystal travel bracelet

27. Labradorite

I included Labradorite partly because it made me thing of my old dog (a Labrador), called Jasper.

But it earned its spot mainly because it’s supposedly ideal for periods of change. Travel is full of change, transition and transience, making Labradorite a quality companion!

Equally, you’ll enjoy greater strength and levels of perseverance. Being on the road isn’t always easy. Any help to stick with it is surely a positive.

Travel Idea: Labradorite Palm Stone

Moving on to the best spiritual protection stones and, finally, the best gemstones for protection and travelling.

The Best Spiritual Protection Stones for Travel

The following stones are said to protect your spirit from a host of troubles on the road.

28. Black Tourmaline

This one featured on almost every list of top positive energy stones for travel I came across.

It makes sense too. After all, Black Tourmaline is meant to be a great all-rounder in terms of protection. The most support seems against negative energy from others. That would almost certainly come in handy while travelling.

You meet a whole array of different people on the road. You start to realize just how diverse people can get!

Some of them will suck the life from you, just like a vampire would, if you let them.

One of the benefits of wearing black tourmaline is that you’ll be protected from that eventuality.

I also saw that it can relieve jet lag too. That’s an obvious bonus for anyone with a long flight ahead of them!

Travel Idea: Black Tourmaline Bracelet

crystal travel bracelet

29. Hematite

Hematite seems like it could be an epic stone to take on the road.

Here’s a brief overview of some of what it’s meant to help out with:

  • Keeps you grounded
  • Helps with concentration
  • Supports problem solving
  • Counteracts lethargy, tiredness and brain fog
  • Relieves stress and tension
  • Jet lag relief
  • Calming effects

Even if it does a fraction of what’s promised, it’d surely be one of the best spiritual protection stones out there (and the perfect addition to your backpack).

Travel Idea: Hematite Bracelet

crystal travel bracelet

30. Red Jasper

Red Jasper is another stone to support energy and strength.

However, it combines this, supposedly, with an enhanced level if insight too. You’ll understand your problems better. That understanding is said to foster a sense of stability.

Strength and awareness are two top personal qualities for anyone to pursue.

Travel has a habit of helping out with these things anyway. A stone to lend its weight to the process would be a useful tool to have.

Travel Idea: Red Jasper Carved Elephant

crystal travel bracelet

31. Selenite

Spiritual development is at the core of almost any proper travel experience.

You hit the road and find yourself growing and learning in a whole manner of ways.

Selenite is meant to promote this as well. If you’re looking for advancement of your identity and self through travel, then consider popping some selenite in your pocket.

An added bonus is the relief of emotional negativity in your mind and body.

32. Jet Stone

Here’s another stone of the deepest and darkest black.

It’s almost like it’s been painted in black. I find it crazy to think it’s totally natural.

Anyway, Jet’s another protection stone that is said to have healing properties as well. This time it seems purely physical. From headaches to trauma, Jet’s meant to help.

Obviously, pack a first aid kit just in case. But if Jet can truly keep you from harm’s way on the road, then it would, of course, be a great thing to take.

Finally, on to the best gemstones for protection and travelling.

The Best Gemstones for Travel Protection

33. tiger’s eye.

Tiger’s Eye is another cool-sounding name for a gemstone for travelling.

It’s also said to be one of great power.

Again, if Tiger’s Eye truly provides a semblance of what people say it does, then it’ll be worth every penny you pay. It seems one of the best gemstones for protection out there.

To name a few, you’ll welcome the newfound integrity, patience, willpower and self-confidence. How about the grounding ability it provides? Or the good luck and positive outlook it promotes?

Oh, and then there’s the protection against others’ negativity to look forward to as well.

You’re said to enjoy a sense of security, self-respect, and feeling at home wherever you are. For obvious reasons, every single of one these attributes would be ideal on the road (and for life in general).

34. Turquoise

It’s not just a colour! It’s a stone too.

And it isn’t one of those ironic names either, where the opposite is actually true (i.e. Big Dave is actually tiny). Nope, Turquoise is actually turquoise in colour (albeit mottled in nature).

It might not have the most original name, but it’s undoubtedly a stunning stone.

Again, it’s like it’s been painted in advance. Fun fact for you, Turquoise is a key stone in Native American culture. It’s referred to as the ‘stone of life’. This incredible stone changes colour depending on its environment, leading some to believe it is actually a living mineral.

Seen to represent life, Turqoise finds a place in Native American stories, myths, spiritual practices and decorative jewellery too.

In terms of your future travels, you’ll enjoy a heightened positivity in your mental state. Creativity, serenity, happiness and wisdom are a few of the things you could experience.

Overall, it’s said to lead to self-realization. Travel is one long journey of personal discovery. If Turquoise can help in that, then all power to you for taking it along.

35. Sodalite

Last but not least, we have Sodalite.

And no, it isn’t a sugar-free version of your favourite fizzy drink.

Sodalite’s a travel gemstone that’ll protect you from negativity, while actively promoting the positive.

Guilt and phobias are said to fade away (good for travel!), your self-esteem and feelings of self-worth get boosted (good for life in general!), and your relationships should enjoy a jump of positivity too (also good for travel and life!).

You’re meant to start trusting in your judgments too. That, for me, would be the primary advantage to having it on the road. Solo travellers have to rely on their judgment calls because there’s no-one there to hold your hand!

It’s just you, so listening to (and following) your gut is often a key to success.

Their positive vibes will ensure your trip is a success. Crystals for travel protection can also help you deal with the hectic environment of departures and arrivals.

In this post, you will learn all about how to travel with crystals as well as knowing the best crystals for travel.

Choosing the best crystals for travel

Why should you travel with Crystals?

  • Help with Jet Lag in new time zones and on the return home.
  • Create a protective shield around you when you’re in crowds.
  • Keep you calm and soothe your anxiety in stressful situations.
  • Make you feel at home and help you sleep well in new surroundings.
  • Guard against x-ray scanners at the airport.

Which are the best protection crystals for travel

The decision of which stones to travel to bring with you, on the other hand, can be a challenge. There are so many travel protection crystals if you brought them all the scales at the terminal would go over the limit with the weight of our collections! So you are going to need to be selective and focus on the best crystals for travel protection depending on your individual needs.

How to Care for your Crystals while traveling

For practicality and because I like beautiful things, I wear crystal jewelry like my Chakra Bracelet every day. It’s a perfect way to keep beneficial stones with me at all times. At night, my jewelry is placed on a Selenite Plate to cleanse and charge. In the morning, I give them intention with my goals for the day ahead.

Before you travel be sure to cleanse your stones for travel and jewelry with a sage smoke bath or lay them on a Selenite crystal. Create the intention for them to protect, keep you calm and help ensure you have a fantastic trip.

When you travel, a sage smudging stick or Selenite plate may not be a practical carry-on. I’m going to give a great tip on how to cleanse your crystals when you travel, check out Tip #5.

To showcase the best crystals for safe travel to take on your trip, here are a few ways to keep them with you at all times. We’ll see which crystals ward off negative energy and block electromagnetic radiation, and which ones keep you calm. Let’s take a look!

The Best Overall Crystal for Travel Protection

How to travel with Crystals

Black Tourmaline is often considered the go-to crystal for protection during travel. It’s believed to repel negative energies and keep you grounded, making it an ideal companion for your adventures.

Bl ack Tourmaline is known for its grounding properties, helping you stay connected to the Earth when you’re jet-setting across the globe. It’s also great for warding off those negative vibes you might encounter—whether it’s a stressful flight or a sketchy hostel room. Just hold it in your hand and set your intention for safe travels before you embark on your journey.

Another good option is Moonstone , often called the “Traveler’s Stone.” It’s said to offer protection on journeys, especially during nighttime travel. Plus, its soft glow can bring a sense of peace and balance, which can be really helpful if you’re feeling a little out of sorts in a new place.

Choosing the best crystals for safe travel

Malachite is a stone of change and transition. Traveling from one time-zone to another is its specialty, so it helps with jet lag. It can also help you overcome your fear of flying.

Known as the guardian stone for a reason, Malachite protects you from harm. This includes negative energy, accidents, time delays or any type of radiation. It’s especially beneficial in airport security and can protect you from the harmful emissions of x-rays.

Malachite also absorbs pollutants in the air and therefore, helps with asthma and allergies. You can even use it as a pain reliever if your travels coincide with monthly cramps or any other aches and pains. There are so many benefits to have Malachite with you at all times.

To create an energy field of protection, wear Malachite Bracelets on each arm when you travel.

Aquamarine is a stone of tolerance and good luck. I don’t know about you, but travel can be very stressful, and most of it’s due to lack of patience. Generally speaking, tolerance of situations, lineups, and inept service is essential when you travel . Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, take a deep breath and hope luck is on your side. This crystal will reduce your stress, lessen your tension and keep you calm.

Known to protect you anywhere near water, Ancient lore speaks of Aquamarine being a Mermaid treasure. Seamen also used it as a talisman against drowning and seasickness. If you plan any travel by boat or over water, it is essential to have this crystal with you. Aquamarine will also protect your Aura from outside negative energy.

Shungite is a stone from out of this world, literally.  Estimated at over 2 billion years old, it’s only found in one place on earth, a meteoroid site at Lake Onega, Russia. The Shungite filters the water in this lake which has been used in spas for centuries. Shungite contains every known element on the periodic table and is thought to be instrumental in the origins of life on Earth. This carbon-based mineral can filter, absorb and neutralize all negative energy before it can attach to your aura .

When you travel, you can expose yourself to germs and other ailments when you are in crowds, or when you eat foods from new places. The tolerance of your immune system can become challenging when you travel. Known to cure gastric problems, Shungite is a solution because it absorbs pesticides, bacteria, and free radicals. In essence, it filters pretty much everything!

On top of those benefits, Shungite also treats burns, sore throats, allergies and numerous other ailments we seem to pick up abroad. Antioxidant molecules called fullerenes are key to this process. Their discovery earned a Nobel Prize . These molecules absorb all electromagnetic radiation (EMF’s), microwave and other harmful chemicals.

Amethyst is my all-around go-to crystal for travel. It keeps you calm, helps you sleep, and also keeps you alert and sober in a strange place.

crystal travel bracelet

When you travel, you have to look at maps, navigate new cities, and coordinate tour times. You also have to find new places to eat and new landscapes to explore. Amethyst promotes emotional centering and helps you stay focused. This crystal keeps you in control so you can enjoy all your trip has to offer. It can also enhance your memory.

My favorite thing about Amethyst is it brings a restful sleep. It’s always hard for me to get to sleep in hotel rooms but when I have this crystal under my pillow, I instantly fall asleep.

Amethyst will repel any negative energy and turns it into love.  When you have this crystal with you, it will help make your trip perfect.

Selenite instills deep peace and calm when you travel. It has a fine vibration which clears confusion and stabilizes erratic emotions. This stone is another great crystal to wear when you travel because it assists your judgment and gives you insight. Generally speaking, it helps you stick to your plan and visit all the destinations on your itinerary without getting lost.

As one of the most powerful crystals in the world, Selenite is an essential stone on your travels because it prevents the necessity of smudging. It can clear and cleanse your body, your surrounding environment, and your crystal jewelry when you travel. When you have Selenite with you, it’s a simple and effective way to block negative energy and retain your light .

👛 How To Use And Store Crystals For Travel

If you’re new to using crystals, you should take some time first to understand how they work.

Crystals need to be used and stored in a particular way to receive their benefits and protection.

Although carrying crystals around in your bag can have some effect, you should keep the crystal as close to you as possible and focus on what you want it to do for you.

Here are some ways to use your protection crystals for travel:

  • You can hold the crystal in your hand and set your intention for a safe journey or successful trip.
  • Many people also like to wear their crystal around their neck or wrist, incorporating it into their jewelry.
  • Alternatively, keep it in your pocket where it’s in constant contact with you.
  • To further enhance the crystal’s power, you can hold it while meditating, visualizing, or breathing deeply.

When you acquire a new crystal, cleaning it before use is crucial. That said, you should do this before your travels.

By cleansing crystals, you wash away any negative energy they may harbor.

To do this, soak the crystal in a bowl of sea salt and water for a minimum of a few hours, preferably overnight.

Alternatively, you can purify your crystal by burning some sage and distributing the smoke around it while stating your intention (in your head or aloud).

When you’re not using your crystal, store it in a soft pouch or wrap it in a silk scarf to prevent negative energy from tainting it.

❔ What To Do If You Lose A Crystal While Traveling

If you happen to lose a crystal while traveling, don’t worry. It’s not the end of the world. There are a few things you can do to find it.

First, try retracing your steps. If you’re unsure where you lost it, think about the last place you remember having it. Then, start from there and work your way back.

If that doesn’t work, you can always purchase a new one.

It’s not necessary to have the exact same crystal, but it might make you feel better.

You can also try meditating and asking for guidance from your spirit guides. They might be able to help you find it.

Finally, don’t forget that crystals are replaceable. If you can’t find the one you lost, don’t sweat it. Just get a new one and move on.

❔ How To Choose The Best Travel Crystal

With so many different types of crystals available, it can be challenging to choose the best one for traveling.

Here are a few things to consider when making your selection.

The Purpose Of The Crystal

First, think about the purpose of the crystal. Are you looking for something to help you relax?

Or are you looking for something to help keep your energy levels up?

Choosing a crystal that aligns with your intention will help it be more effective.

The Type Of Trip You’re Taking

The type of trip you’re taking is also necessary to consider.

For example, if you’re going on a long flight, you might want to choose a crystal that helps with jet lag.

If you’re traveling to a new country, you might want to choose a crystal that helps with culture shock.

There are many different types of crystals that can be helpful in different situations.

Woman traveling with a travel crystal

The Energy Of The Crystal

It’s also important to consider the energy of the crystal. Some crystals have a very high vibration, while others have a lower vibration.

You’ll want to choose a crystal with the right energy for you and your trip.

For example, if you’re going somewhere very chaotic, you might want to choose a crystal with calming energy.

On the other hand, if you’re going somewhere that is very low-key, you might want to choose a crystal with more energizing energy.

The Size Of The Crystal

The size of the crystal is also essential to consider. You’ll want to choose a size that is comfortable for you to carry.

If you’re going on a long trip, you might want to choose a larger crystal.

If you’re only going on a short trip, however, you might want to choose a smaller crystal. It’s all about what is most comfortable for you.

Testimonials, hold power in protection.

"I always have my Protection Necklace in my pocket at work in my scrubs. If I start to feel overwhelmed or stressed I reach into my pocket and hold it. When I had surgery to remove a tumor two years ago, my mother held it the entire time I was in surgery. Since then, the energy I have felt in it has been amazing. There is true power in believing that something is protecting you in all aspect of life. I hope to have my necklace forever."

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.
