Exclusive: Inside the Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training arc world tour

We attended the world tour event for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training movie in New York, and here's what you can expect.

By Camila Domingues | Feb 11, 2024

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- World Tour, NYC February 2024

On February 10th, New York City became a pivotal epicenter for anime enthusiasts as it hosted the much-anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training world tour.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training world tour in NYC was not just an event - it was a testament to the series' global impact and the shared passion between the creators and fans. As the voice actors and producer shared their personal connections and teased the upcoming developments, it was clear that the new movie and arc are set to elevate the Demon Slayer saga to new heights. With promises of intense battles, emotional depth, and breathtaking animation, fans can expect intese moments and scenes ahead in the journey of Tanjiro and his comrades.

The event, a display and ode to the beloved series' latest cinematic venture, drew fans from everywhere, eager to catch a glimpse of what the new movie and arc would unveil. The highlight of the evening, other than the incredible movie itself, was undoubtedly the Q&A session with Japanese voice actors Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado) and Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), and producer Yuma Takahashi, who shared their insights and personal connections to their characters and the series.

When asked about their favorite aspects of playing their respective characters, Hanae expressed a deep connection with Tanjiro's unwavering love for his family and his relentless determination to protect them. This, Hanae believes, is the core of Tanjiro's character, making him a beacon of hope and strength.

Shimono, on the other hand, revealed his fondness for Zenitsu's duality—his usual cowardly demeanor starkly contrasted by his prowess and cool-headedness in battle, showcasing a character depth that resonates with fans for its relatability and growth.

IMG_5361

Yuma Takahashi, asked which character he relates to the most, chose Tanjiro without hesitation. His reasoning was simple yet profound: Tanjiro's role as the main character not only makes him pivotal to the story's progression but also embodies the essence of "Demon Slayer" with his virtues of courage, empathy, and unwavering determination.

IMG_5321

The trio also shared their excitement for the new movie and arc, emphasizing the unique experience of viewing the animation on the big screen. Hanae highlighted the emotional impact and superior quality of the animation, urging fans to experience the difference firsthand. Shimono teased about the intense battles and the deep dive into the characters' training and daily lives, offering a contrast that enriches the narrative. Takahashi promised a mix of action, comedy, and serenity, all building towards an epic confrontation, setting the stage for a season filled with growth, challenges, and unparalleled storytelling.

As far as the movie itself, Aniplex and Ufotable outdo themselves once more. Fans of the Mugen Train movie rejoice - To the Hashira Training is a sandwich packed with action, hilarious moments, and intense exchanges.

In essence, this world tour served as a bridge, bringing the creators and the audience closer, and fostering a community united by their love for Demon Slayer . As the series continues to explore the themes of bravery, loss, and redemption, it's events like these that remind us of the power of storytelling and the enduring bond it creates between us all.

Also, imagine my surprise when none other than Channing Tatum and his daughter joined us in the world tour, cosplay and all. I had no idea he enjoyed Demon Slayer as well - makes me like him even more.

Channing Tatum, Everly Tatum, Tanjiro, Nezuko Kamado

Make sure to catch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training in theaters nationwide on February 23rd - it's truly one for the books.

Are There ‘Demon Slayer’ World Tour 2024 Tickets? Answered

The  Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training arc movie has been confirmed, but now what? Will it be available in your local cinemas, or will you have to wait for it to drop into your streaming service?

Even if you don’t get to watch the movie, it’s a combination of the last episode of  Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village and the first episode of the season after. But you’re just as hyped as every  Demon Slayer  fan, and your patience is growing thinner after almost a year without any new  Demon Slayer  content.

According to the World Tour 2024 trailer for  Demon Slayer , there will be more screenings available for the upcoming movie compared to  Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.   That’s comforting for everybody who wasn’t able to watch the last movie in their local theaters, but the Demon Slayer  World Tour 2024 will also have special screenings for select locations.

Some of the cast members of the anime will be present at the special screenings, which will happen on the different dates below.

There are no tickets available for sale for the  Demon Slayer  World Tour 2024 Special Screening as of this moment, but the movie will be releasing soon in cinemas. Fans from the U.S. can anticipate ticket sales announcements going live on the Demon Slayer website. Based on ticket sales for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train , fans should also keep an eye out on Fandango , MovieTickets.com, and Atom Tickets.
