The Disney Wish cruise ship, which Disney is calling its "castle on the sea," is scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage on July 14 after being delayed from June 9 due to the omicron variant of the coronavirus .

Incredibles Disney Wish

As expected from a Disney vacation, there are multiple options to help keep the kids entertained, whether young or young at heart. Here's what's new on Disney Wish:

  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: A salon for the kids where they can get the Disney Princess, knight or captain makeover of their dreams. Prices start at $100, which includes hairstyling, glittery makeup, a face gem, princess sash, nail polish and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique T-shirt, and go all the way up to $450 -- a package that also includes a "Disney Princess gown made with heirloom-quality fabrics" and a crystal tiara. You can also pay almost $1,100 to have your child get a top-of-the-line makeover for all three days of the cruise.
  • Hero Zone: An active play area, it'll be a fully enclosed and air-conditioned sports arena. It'll include events like the Incredi-Games, a family game show featuring obstacle courses inspired by The Incredibles, and Jack-Jack's Incredible Diaper Dash, a crawling race for babies.
  • Royal Picnic with Olaf: Families with kids between the ages of 3 and 12 can join Frozen characters Olaf, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff on a summertime picnic in Arendelle, complete with live performances of Let It Go, In Summer, Reindeers Are Better Than People and Fixer Upper. Kids will be given keepsakes like troll plush toys, a picnic blanket and an Arendelle mandolin.
  • Marvel superhero academy: An onboard Avengers headquarters as part of the Oceaneer Club for kids.
  • Fairytale Hall: This area will include Belle's Library, Anna and Elsa's summer house and Rapunzel's art class.
  • Imagineering classes: Where kids can learn how to design their own roller coaster.

The AquaMouse attraction will feature a new animated Mickey Mouse short called Scuba Scramble. A 760-foot water ride will take you all around the top deck and includes interactive water elements, audio, video, lighting, show scenes and special effects. Disney says you'll be on an adventure to a mermaid lagoon.

Also on the top deck are the Toy Story Splash Zone, six pools, and casual dining in the Mickey and Friends district.

Shows and entertainment on the Disney cruise liner

Luna Disney Wish

The Luna theater on the Disney Wish.

Disney will have a wide range of entertainment offerings on its fifth cruise liner. Here's what we know:

  • The Walt Disney Theater: The main theater will showcase an Aladdin musical that includes a new song for Jasmine; an original production of The Little Mermaid including projections and puppetry; and an embarkation day show with Captain Minnie, Goofy, Tiana, Elsa, Merida, Moana, Hercules, Nemo, Crush, Squirt and more Disney and Pixar characters.
  • Luna: Described by Disney as day-to-night entertainment, this area will resemble an "enchanted fairytale village" with decor based on Pixar short La Luna. It'll be used to host Villains Game Night, a trivia night featuring Disney's favorite villains; Disney Songbook, a karaoke-style event; and Disney Uncharted Adventure, an interactive experience using phones with augmented reality to battle a villain.
  • A game show called Who's Behind the Curtain.
  • Disney Princess meet and greets.
  • Fireworks at sea.
  • Pirate deck party hosted by Captain Redd from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at  Disneyland and  Walt Disney World , with an appearance by Captain Jack Sparrow.

Fine dining, dessert bars, lounges and restaurants

Inside Out Disney Wish Dessert

The Inside Out-themed dessert bar.

Disney Wish is also leaning into Pixar movies, with a new candy store unveiled Feb. 17. Inside Out: Joyful Sweets will have Pixar-inspired desserts including 40 flavors of handmade gelato and ice cream, as well as whipped cream, fruit compotes, candy, macarons, cake pops, cupcakes themed after the five major emotions, truffles, cookies, brownies, chocolate Memory Orbs and other treats. The store will look like the emotion control center inside of Riley's mind in the movie Inside Out, complete with statues of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger, and lighting fixtures that look like memory orbs.

The Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is an adults-only area. Designed to look like a luxury spaceship, the lounge will serve space-themed drinks (we imagine those will be similar to the alcoholic drinks served at  Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Disney World). It'll feature views from the screen "windows" showing Star Wars locales like Tatooine, Batuu and Mustafar, much like on Disney World's new Star Wars resort, the Galactic Starcruiser .

Disney Wish will have three new family restaurants:

  • Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which'll serve foods with a Nordic influence and include character performances while you eat. The restaurant invites you to attend the engagement celebration of Anna and Kristoff.
  • Worlds of Marvel, an interactive dining experience where you'll be served African foods to represent Wakanda, Eastern European cuisine as an homage to Sokovia and dining options from New York City, where the Avengers are headquartered. It'll include an interactive show featuring Ant-Man and the Wasp , called Avengers: Quantum Encounter.
  • 1923, which is themed out as a 1920s Hollywood experience representing Walt Disney's heyday and serving a California fusion menu.

There'll also be a food hall called Marceline Market, with 10 food stalls themed after movies including Tangled, Zootopia, Alice in Wonderland and Ratatouille; and Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods for quick bites.

The new Disney cruise liner will feature three adult-exclusive dining options inspired by Beauty and the Beast: The Rose lounge; Palo Steakhouse, with a theme inspired by Cogsworth; and Enchanté, with food created by chef Arnaud Lallement and decor inspired by Lumiere, the singing candelabra. Other adults-only spaces include the Key & Compass pub, Nightingale's piano bar and The Bayou, a New Orleans Princess and the Frog-themed lounge.

Disney Wish: How to book, what's the cost, what the rooms are like

If you really want to splash out, you can reserve a two-story royal suite, which includes a spiral staircase and stained glass artwork.

The most exclusive room on board the ship is the 1,966-square-foot Wish Tower Suite. The room is set in the forward funnel of the Disney Wish and is Moana themed, with two main bedrooms, a children's room, four and a half bathrooms, a dining room, a wet bar and a library. The two-story suite is decorated with custom art, props and sculptures.

What do the Halloween-themed cruises involve?

Disney will have more Halloween-themed cruises this year than ever before, and they'll include trick-or-treating, family parties, adults-only parties, themed decor and food, and Halloween movies on the big screens. All Disney characters will be wearing Halloween costumes, including a new Hocus Pocus Sanderson Sister theme for Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle.

The Disney Wish will have a Pumpkin Tree in the Grand Hall, decked out with jack-o'-lanterns, flickering lights and a "mystical face."

The Halloween on the High Seas cruises are a little pricier than your standard cruise -- on the Disney Wish, they start at $2,074 for two adults on a three-night cruise for an inside room, and $2,718 for two adults on a four-night cruise. Oceanview rooms start at $2,188 for three nights, verandah rooms at $2,338 and concierge rooms at an eye-watering $17,740 (maybe only the Wish Tower Suite is left?). Oceanview rooms cost $2,894 for four nights and verandah rooms $3,150, with concierge rooms unavailable.

Halloween cruises on the Disney Wish sail in September and October.

Inside the Disney Wish, the company's newest cruise ship

The maiden voyage will set sail in summer 2022.

Disney Cruise Line has released more details regarding its newest cruise ship, Disney Wish, which will open to the public for bookings on May 27.

Disney Wish is the company’s most innovative and magical ship yet. The ship’s motif is enchantment, and it focuses on a tale as old as time -- wishing upon a star. It intends to include all the classic things families love about Disney cruises while also introducing new and incredible experiences to make the trip even more memorable.

“The Disney Wish will be like no other ship at sea,” Lisa Pickett, hotel director at Disney Cruise Line, said.

The maiden voyage will set sail on June 9, 2022, with a five-night cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, to Nassau, Bahamas, and Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. From new attractions to dining experiences, here’s just a taste of what you can expect.

A reimagined upper deck

One of the more fantastical additions to the ship is the AquaMouse, Disney’s first attraction at sea.

The water ride will take riders along 760 feet and immerse them in “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” through the use of special effects and lighting.

PHOTO: The AquaMouse will be a water ride attraction aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

Animated shorts featuring the iconic character and a brand-new story involving him called “Scuba Scramble” will line the inner walls of the tunnels that riders will be zooming through.

“Families are going to absolutely love this experience," DCL cruise director Jimmy Lynett said. "It is going to be a one-of-a-kind experience only on the Disney Wish."

The spacious upper deck will also have six pools, some of which will be dedicated for particular ages. Kids will be able to splash around in a “Toy Story”-themed area, while adults can soak their troubles away at the Quiet Cove.

Entertainment for people of all ages

Kids will have a wide range of fun activities to choose from. The “It’s a Small World” Nursery will offer babysitting services for those up to 3 years old, while the Oceaneer Club is geared to kids from 3 to 12 with cool play areas.

The Marvel Super Hero Academy will see “recruits” train alongside some of their favorite heroes such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Kids will even be able to pick their own hero suit and put it to the test.

PHOTO: The Marvel Super Hero Academy will be a kids play area aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

They will be able to tap into their artsy side at Fairytale Hall, an area that consists of three rooms: Rapunzel’s Art Studio, Belle’s Library and Anna and Elsa’s Summerhaus.

The Walt Disney Imagineering Lab will pull back the curtain on what Imagineers, the people who research and develop ideas for Disney, actually do. Kids will be able to step into Imagineers’ shoes to see what they do and how they do it, and even get to try out some experimentation themselves.

“It's really taking our young cruisers behind the scenes and looking at how we create the magic, how we use our imagination,” Claire Weiss, creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering Germany, said.

Teens will have two trendy spots where they can kick back and relax: Edge, for ages 11 to 14, and Vibe, for ages 14 to 17.

Adults aren’t left behind entertainment-wise either, with areas exclusively for those 18 and up.

The Senses Spa will allow adults to truly rest and recharge with a number of spa and beauty treatments on offer, along with spa villas and steam and aromatherapy rooms. Senses Fitness will be there for those who need to let off some steam and exercise.

PHOTO: The Grand Hall aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

Five new entertainment-specific areas will bring all ages together At the center of it all will be the opulent Grand Hall, a three-story atrium that looks straight out of a fairytale, where dedicated shows and interactive entertainment will take place.

"Our Grand Hall is truly our castle on the sea. It is basically the castle part of the park for Disney Cruise Line. We know that the castle is iconic to the Disney brand and to the Disney experience, but also to this idea of wish fulfillment and wishes coming true,” Weiss said. “So it seemed like a fitting architectural style to give this theme of enchantment a real world place to go.”

“Its location is just prime real estate on the ship for bringing people together,” Lynett said.

Luna will be an hub for live shows and other interactive elements that are for all ages during the daytime and transition into adult-only in the evening. The Walt Disney Theatre will put on original Broadway-style stage productions, while Wonder and Never Land Cinemas will screen various Disney movies.

The Hero Zone will be a fully enclosed, air-conditioned sports arena where families will be able to get active and participate in game-show-style competitions.

New culinary delights

Adults also have the luxury of private dining and bar areas just for them.

PHOTO: The Hyperspace Lounge aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

“Star Wars” fans will love the spaceship-themed Hyperspace Lounge, with drinks inspired by the worlds of Tatooine, Batu and Mustafar.

There will also be several upscale dining options just for adults, such as Palo Steakhouse, The Rose and Enchanté, all inspired by “Beauty and the Beast.”

For families as a whole, there will be three new dining options that elevate it from just simply eating to an entire experience.

PHOTO: "Arendale: A Frozen Dining Experience" is a new culinary theater aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure will serve Nordic-influenced cuisine while characters like Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf sing and dance around diners.

Diners will take a more active role in Worlds of Marvel, where some of the Avengers are on a mission and need assistance. The food will be inspired by places featured in the Marvel movies, such as New York, Sokovia and Wakanda.

1923 brings diners back to an age of old Hollywood glamour and pays homage to the very year the Walt Disney Company was founded. The cuisine will be centered around the different cultures that make up California’s heritage.

A home away from home

Disney Wish will have 1,254 staterooms, most of which will have an ocean view and a veranda. The rooms are designed to be people’s home away from home, where they relax in a peaceful setting.

PHOTO: A stateroom aboard the Disney Wish cruise.

“We have our Disney Cruise Line exclusive split bath and ample storage space,” Pickett said. “We'll have more than 900 state rooms that are connecting, which is incredible for those family experiences or those parties that traveled together.”

There will also be four royal suites that can accommodate up to six guests. Two of the suites will also be two stories tall with spiral staircases for those who truly want to live in luxury.

“One thing that's really important in our state rooms and our suites is we are continuing to bring Disney stories of enchantment to life. So they're a little bit different from the state rooms you know and love on the existing ships,” Weiss said.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News and "Good Morning America."

Disney Just Revealed Details About Its Brand-new Cruise Ship — With a Magical New Theme

Disney Destiny will be heroes and villains themed, scheduled for delivery in 2025

disney's newest cruise

Life is full of tough choices, isn’t it? But soon, cruisers won’t have to choose between good and evil as Disney Cruise Line just announced its new ship: Disney Destiny .

Disney shared that the ship design will be themed around legendary Disney heroes and villains, including those of Pixar and Marvel. The vessel will draw “on the legacy of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions, to forge a cruise vacation that will empower guests to embrace their own calling aboard every unforgettable voyage.”

Disney Destiny is the third vessel in the liner’s Triton class of ships. It will join the Disney Wish , which debuted in the summer of 2022, and the soon-to-debut Disney Treasure .

“The Disney Destiny will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests,” Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, said in a press release shared with Travel + Leisure . “As we continue to expand our fleet, the Disney Destiny will further strengthen our position as a leader in family cruising as we offer even more ways for families to experience Disney magic and world-class service at sea.”

A partnership between Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering, the “teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose when developing the Disney Destiny .” Ship spaces, Broadway-style entertainment, and experiences will be inspired by some of Walt Disney Animation Studios biggest films, including “Hercules,” “The Lion King,” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.”

Disney unveiled exterior images and a brand-new filigree artwork for the bow of the ship, which is a Disney Cruise Line signature design tradition. The image depicts Minnie Mouse in a commanding, hero-inspired pose while donning her signature bow, along with a cape.

The Disney Destiny is currently being built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. No announcements have been made on its itinerary or on-sale bookings.

Disney Cruise Line ships from newest to oldest — a complete list

Gene Sloan

What's the newest Disney Cruise Line ship? It's something you'll want to know if you're in the market for a Disney cruise.

The newest Disney Cruise Line ship is typically also the Disney Cruise Line ship with the most bells and whistles and the most up-to-date cabins, restaurants, bars and attractions. It's what you want if you want the very latest and greatest in a vessel for your Disney cruise vacation.

Right now, the newest Disney cruise ship is the 1-year-old Disney Wish . It just debuted in July 2022. However, Disney Wish won't be the newest Disney Cruise Line ship for long. It'll soon be supplanted as the newest Disney cruise vessel by the currently-under-construction Disney Treasure — a sister ship being built to the same basic design. Disney Treasure is scheduled to begin sailing in 2024.

For more cruise guides, news and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Two other relatively new Disney cruise ships are Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. Both began sailing about a decade ago.

In all, Disney operates just five cruise vessels — far fewer than such cruise brands as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line . Founded in 1998, the line has gone long periods without adding a single new vessel, with occasional bursts of expansion, including one taking place right now.

The line has never retired a vessel since its debut in 1998. The oldest Disney cruise ship, Disney Magic, is 25 years old.

In general, Disney's newest ships are bigger and more amenity-packed than its older ships. If you crave the most possible activities in a Disney cruise vacation, you'll want to stick to the line's three most recently built vessels.

Related: The 3 types of Disney Cruise Line ships, explained

Disney's two oldest cruise ships — those built in the 1990s — are about 40% smaller than the line's newest vessels and have fewer venues on board. Still, even these smaller ships offer a lot of attractions as compared to many vessels at competing lines.

Here, every Disney ship currently in operation is ranked from newest to oldest:

1. Disney Wish

disney's newest cruise

Maiden voyage: 2022 Size: 144,000 gross tons Passenger capacity : 2,508

2. Disney Fantasy

disney's newest cruise

Maiden voyage: 2012 Size: 125,000 gross tons Passenger capacity : 2,500

3. Disney Dream

4. Disney Wonder

5. Disney Magic

disney's newest cruise

Maiden voyage: 1998 Size: 83,000 gross tons Passenger capacity : 1,750

What is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship?

The newest Disney Cruise Line ship is Disney Wish. As noted above, it debuted in July 2022. Measuring 144,000 gross tons, it's also the biggest Disney cruise ship and has more amenities than the line's older vessels.

TPG has had staffers on Disney Wish three times over the past year to experience and review the vessel. For more on the ship and its new features, see the following guides and reviews:

What is the oldest Disney Cruise Line ship?

The oldest Disney Cruise Line ship is Disney Magic. Unveiled way back in 1998, it was the very first Disney cruise ship ever built, and its arrival in 1998 marked the beginning of the line.

Disney Magic isn't just the oldest Disney cruise ship but also the smallest Disney cruise ship. Measuring just 83,000 gross tons, it's about 40% smaller than the new Disney Wish. As a result, it has fewer venues than Disney Wish but also a more intimate feel.

Because it offers fewer and smaller attractions than the new Disney Wish and other newer Disney ships, Disney Cruise Line typically uses Disney Magic and its slightly younger sister ship Disney Wonder for its more destination-intensive itineraries — trips where you're going to spend much of your time off the ship and onboard amenities are less important.

Disney Magic, for instance, is the ship that Disney sends to Europe every summer for itineraries that are all about exploring cities such as Barcelona and Rome (reached via the port of Civitavecchia, Italy).

What new Disney Cruise Line ships are coming?

Disney Cruise Line currently has two new cruise ships on order. The first to arrive will be Disney Treasure in 2024. As noted above, it's a sister ship to Disney Wish, and it'll have many of the same features as that vessel.

Another vessel in the same series, known as the Triton class of ships, is on order for delivery in 2025.

The Triton-class vessels are being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, which also built Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream.

In addition, Disney Cruise Line recently bought a massive, partly finished cruise ship that was originally ordered for Asia-based Dream Cruises. The unfinished ship became available for purchase after Dream Cruises went out of business.

Disney plans to finish construction on the vessel and operate it out of Singapore starting in 2025. The ship will sail Southeast Asia voyages aimed at the Asia cruise market.

What is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship available for booking?

Disney Wish is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship you can book right now. The line's next new ship, Disney Treasure, is not yet available to book.

What is the newest class of Disney Cruise Line ships?

The Triton class is the newest class of Disney Cruise Line ships. It'll be made up of at least three vessels, the first of which (Disney Wish) has already debuted.

The Triton class is the shiny new thing at Disney Cruise Line. The first of the vessels, Disney Wish, debuted with a whole new array of Disney "wow" on board, from the "Star Wars"-themed Hyperspace Lounge that offers a "window" view of passing starships to Marvel- and "Frozen"-themed restaurants.

First look: Disney Wish's new 'Frozen' dinner show

In addition, cabins on Disney Wish include seven ocean-view rooms located over the bridge, a first for Disney Cruise Line. The rooms have extended living areas with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bow and out across the ocean. If that isn't enough, there also are four Royal Suites with a "Sleeping Beauty" theme, two of which feature a two-story floor plan.

What's the difference between newer and older Disney cruise ships?

The three newest Disney Cruise Line ships are notably bigger than the two oldest Disney Cruise Line ships. As a result, they have room for more onboard venues and attractions than the older vessels.

On all three of the newer vessels (Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream), you'll find large water coasters careening around the top deck — a level of attraction you won't find on the older Disney ships.

The newer Disney cruise ships also are home to kiddie waterslides, decktop kiddie play areas and several pools apiece. The ships' insides are loaded with huge children's play areas, family entertainment and even adults-only venues.

Related: The ultimate guide to Disney Cruise Line

Disney's two oldest ships are about 40% smaller than its newest ships and have fewer such features. They have a notably more intimate feel, at least in the pantheon of relatively big, mass-market ships. They also hold fewer people. While Disney's newest ships are designed to hold around 4,000 passengers with every berth full, the line's two oldest vessels (known as the Magic class) are only designed to carry about 2,500 passengers with every berth filled.

That makes the two oldest Disney ships a good choice for someone who wants to try a Disney cruise but isn't eager to travel with huge crowds. The oldest ships in the Disney fleet thus appeal to a subset of Disney fans who prefer more intimacy in a cruise vessel and don't mind giving up some onboard amenities to get it. They are also sometimes less expensive to sail on, on a per-day basis.

Related: Don't miss out on these Disney loyalty perks

In addition, because of their size, the oldest ships at Disney are able to operate itineraries to places that aren't as easy for big ships to visit. Not all ports in the world can handle a ship the size of Disney Wish.

Note that all Disney ships are renovated and upgraded on a regular schedule every few years, so even the oldest Disney cruise vessels have newer carpeting, updated furniture, modern decor in cabins and other updates. In many cases, they also have had entire eateries and bars renovated over the years with concepts that first debuted on newer vessels.

The ship’s previous owner filed for bankruptcy before completing the vessel, enabling Disney Cruise Line to secure it at a favorable price and within the capital expenditure guidance The Walt Disney Company provided on its recent earnings call. The project also secures employment for hundreds of former MV Werften employees and will provide opportunities for numerous maritime industry suppliers in the region.

When the construction halted at MV Weften at the beginning of 2022, the 208,000 GT Global Dream was three quarters complete. The cruise ship, which measures 342 meters (1,122 feet) in length, beam of 46.4m (152ft 3in), with a 9.5m (31ft 2 in) draft. Originally, the ship was designed to carry 9000 passengers.

It is expected to be among the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available. The propulsion will come from three azipods .

November 22, 2019, the 216 meters long central ship of the cruise liner “Global Dream” under construction was undocked from the MV shipyard in Warnemuende near Rostock, northeastern Germany. The first part of the ship was constructed in Warnemuende and was conveyed to Wismar, northeastern Germany, where it was transported on November 23, 2019 . Originally, the 342 meter vessel was designed to offer space for up to 9,500 passengers.

Construction is projected to be completed at the MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the management of Meyer Werft, the Papenburg-based company that built the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish and is constructing two additional Wish-class ships.

In late 2022, references to the name ‘ Global Dream ‘ transitions to ‘ Global One ‘ in media reporting. During a summer 2023 Castaway Club reception onboard the Disney Dream, the vessel was simply referred to as ‘ The Big One ‘. Disney Cruise Line names its newest cruise ship

I t was bound to happen sometime, but Disney Cruise Line waited until its last of three new sister ships to name one Disney Destiny.

The sister ship to Disney Wish, which debuted out of Port Canaveral in 2022 and the soon-to-debut Disney Treasure arriving in Central Florida this December, the third ship in what was originally called the Trident class had its keel laying ceremony Wednesday at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

It won’t start sailing until 2025, and its home port has yet to be named, but among the details revealed for what will be the eighth ship in the cruise line’s fleet was the theme of the vessel, “Heroes & Villains.”

As such, the filigree artwork for the bow will be of Minnie Mouse wearing a superhero-style outfit complete with a cape.

The cruise line said among the characters from which it will mine features on board will be classic Disney animation films, “The Lion King,” “Hercules” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.”

Disney of course owns plenty of good vs. evil intellectual property including Star Wars and Marvel.

“The Disney Destiny will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager for the cruise line, in a press release. “As we continue to expand our fleet, the Disney Destiny will further strengthen our position as a leader in family cruising.”

Just like Disney Wish and Treasure, Disney Destiny will be powered by liquefied natural gas, a cleaner burning fuel that’s part of the cruise industry’s efforts to reduce emissions.

All three are the 144,000 gross-ton, 1,254-stateroom vessels but still targeting the 4,000-passenger capacity of its older ships, 2011’s Disney Dream and 2012’s Fantasy. The line’s first ships are the smaller Disney Magic that debuted in 1998 and Disney Wonder in 1999. They come in at 84,000 gross tons with 875 staterooms.

The line also is finishing construction for an Asia-bound cruise ship named Disney Adventure that will be the largest in the fleet at 208,000 gross tons.

Disney Wish became the line’s first new ship in more than a decade. It continues to do short three- and four-night Bahamas sailings while Disney Treasure will pick up seven-night trips to the Caribbean.

Pregnant Woman Evacuated From Disney Cruise Ship

The US Coast Guard has released dramatic footage of the moment a pregnant woman was airlifted from a Disney cruise ship after suffering "health complications".

A MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter was filmed landing on the bow of the Disney Fantasy ship that was sailing 180 miles northwest of Aguadilla in Puerto Rico .

The coastguard said in a statement: "The medevac patient was a 35-year-old pregnant woman, US citizen, who experienced health complications and required a higher level of medical care ashore."

In a video shared on social media, a member of the helicopter crew is seen attaching the stretcher to a rope which is then hoisted, lifting the passenger into the aircraft.

The pregnant passenger was taken to Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport in San Juan, where emergency service personnel were waiting, the US Coast Guard said.

She was later transported to the Centro Medico Hospital to receive treatment.

"Our crew was able to quickly, safely, and efficiently execute a long-range medevac for the patient to receive the higher level of care she required," Lieutenant Commander Todd Stephens said.

"This case demonstrates the value of good crew resource management and the capabilities of our Jayhawk helicopter."

Ensign Michael Riccio, the coastguard's leader for the case, added: "We are glad everything came together to help this passenger."
