Eddie Vedder (born December 23, 1964) is an American figurehead of alternative rock hailing from Evanston, Illinois, U.S. He is known as the lead singer and guitarist of Pearl Jam and as one of the finest rock vocalists of all time.

Plagued by an unhappy, uncertain childhood, Vedder turned to music at an early age as a cathartic release for his worries. Drawn to the music of The Who’s 1973 “Quadrophenia” album, after settling in San Diego, California, the singer and musician joined a number of local bands including Surf and Destroy, The Butts, Indian Style, and the funk rock band Bad Radio. After becoming acquainted with Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ drummer Jack Iron, Vedder was invited to audition for a new band by Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament in Seattle. That band ultimately became Pearl Jam and released their debut album “10” in August 1991 on Epic Records. Aided by the singles “Alive”, “Even Flow”, and “Jeremy”, the album has sold over 10 million copies making it one of the most successful albums of the 1990s.

Vedder’s role in Pearl Jam’s success is of an indisputable nature and his songwriting and vocal prowess can be seen on all of Pearl Jam’s 10 album releases. On top of his Pearl Jam contributions however the singer-songwriter has crafted a host of soundtrack and compilation work including “Dead Man Walking” in 1995, “I Am Sam” in 2001, “A Brokedown Melody” in 2004, and “Body of War” and “Reign Over Me” in 2007. Also in 2007 Vedder provided the simplistic, heartfelt and folksy soundtrack to the Sean Penn directed film “Into the Wild”. His song “Guaranteed” subsequently won Vedder the Golden Globe award for Best Original Song, after which the singer embarked on his first solo tour in early 2008.

Continuing the simplistic theme of “Into the Wild”, Vedder’s sophomore solo album “Ukulele Songs” is a collection of simple original and cover songs performed on the ukulele. In addition, Vedder has contributed to the music of some of the highest profile music acts including The Who, Ramones, Neil Young, The Strokes, Cat Power, Bad Religion, and performed with the likes of Paul McMartney, Rolling Stones, U2, Jay-Z and Elvis Costello.

Live reviews

It’s that most relatable of woes again. You front one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the past twenty five years. A band that can be relied on to sell out arenas and stadiums the world over with their legendary blend of scything 90’s grunge rock and thunderous 70’s hard rock. However, just what is to be done when you want to take some time off from all that? The only way is down in terms of musical intensity and venue size but not necessarily in quality, as Eddie Vedder’s sojourn into ukulele led folk-rock magnificently shows. What’s more, it only gets better when he performs it live. Performing alone, for most part, on a stage strewn with ukuleles, acoustic guitars, suitcases and tape decks, Vedder captivates from the very start. That unmistakable voice more subtly deployed than in his day job but no less affecting. Playing songs from his two solo albums Ukulele Songs and the Into the Wild soundtrack dispersed with a multitude of covers that change from night after night, Vedder also finds himself joined onstage by a revolving cast of guests, artists like Roger Daltrey, Glen Hansard, Tom Morello, Cat Power and many more have performed with the Pearl jam frontman on stage and it’s electric every time. Even though you might know him best when he’s playing histrionic rock and roll, every side of Eddie Vedder is worth spending an evening with, and if you have any time at all for laid back folk then I can’t recommend a show of his enough.

It is pretty difficult to come away from a multi-platinum selling band capable of selling out arenas who are recognised around the globe and forge a solo career of your own that takes a different sonar appearance. This is exactly what Eddie Vedder has done, most commonly known as the lead singer of Pearl Jam.

Moving away from the grunge rock sound of the band, Vedder is more inspired by folk/rock and with ukulele in hand goes about entertaining the crowd with both his own work and inventive covers of his band's discography. There is quite an intimate attraction to seeing Eddie without the show of Pearl Jam and instead just taking to a relatively sparse stage with a few accompanying musicians. He goes about demonstrating the strength of his own recordings before reimagining 'Porch' and 'Man Of the Hour' all of which are received well by the devoted fans. Both the covers and solo work sound very unique to Vedder and once again shows his skill as a musician and his understanding of genre conventions.

Eddie is a class act. Great with the fans, giving away guitar picks via slingshot, always in a great mood, really enjoys playing and sharing his music as also admiring the historic venues in which he is given a chance to play live. He tries to speak a bit of the local language even though he sucks at it but aknowledges it with class and humor. Lots of great Pearl Jam material, epic covers and, of course, the best of his solo work. Creative, with great improvisation and great musical guests. From Porch to Unthought Known, to a symphonic, totally instrumental version of Alive, to Guaranteed and Without You, as also a lot of other classics like Can't Keep, Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town, Off he Goes, Immortality and legendary covers like David Bowie's Heroes, The Beatles' You Gotta Hide Your Love Away and, his apparent favorite: Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World.

I attended the 2nd show Eddie gave in Amsterdam. After a hesitating start Eddie took over the Afas theatre only the way he can. Almost 30 songs in a bit more than 2 hours with some surprising covers and less obvious Pearl Jam songs. Sometimes he seemed a bit fragile and in his words to the audience there were jokes but also grieve was very present. Highlight for me was Man of the Hour in honor of his wife's grandfather.

Also the collaboration with the Red Limo Stringquartet was great, and even that great that they will be touring with him the next shows. Also the duets with Glen Hansard, even though he was in hospital all day because of a sore throat, were highlights.

Please keep on doing these kind of gigs next to Pearl Jam, and keep on amazing us.

I know realise how expensive tickets were, mine was one of the cheapest and it costed me 64 euros!!!

I can remember Pearl Jam's trial twenty years ago, against Ticket Master(which was selling tickets for this gig in Madrid yesterday by the way) , claiming for their tickets not to be more than 19.50 dollars, when Ticket Master was charging unethically 2 euros for management costs. Where are those times nowadays?

The concert was not any bad, but , once more, I got just astonished at the prices of merch: 30 euros a cotton

t-shirt!!! Ok , I think this is just going to be last time I go see Mr Vedder, guess he's grown up and forgot about his justice principles, BUT I HAVEN'T and I won't contribute no more to this incoherence.

Excellent intimate and personal experience with Eddie. Great crowd and atmosphere throughout the night!!

Glenn Hansard brought Dublin to the show and the Irish fans and visitors loved it...

Apart from the odd fool that drank too much and talked through aloud through some of the songs it was a very memorable night.

Highlight for me was Jeremy dedicated to UK election results and change in the world!!

I've always been a huge fan of Pearl Jam, but I confess I didn't really thought that Eddie could pulled a solo concert with that greatness. I was absolutely in awe with his concert at Firenze!

Imagine run a solo, acoustic concert, in a crowd of 55 thousand people, for over 2 hours, and let everyone in ecstasy? Well, he did it!!!!

Well done, Eddie Veder, well done!

Brilliant show. One of the best I've seen in the Marquee in Cork. Said it was his favourite visit to Ireland and it showed. Seemed like he was never going to stop. Good show by Glen Hansard as well - showed real camaraderie between himself and Eddie. Here's hoping he'll be back with Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam Announce ‘Dark Matter’ World Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Hours after dropping their new single “Dark Matter,” Pearl Jam have rolled out details of their new LP along with dates for a 35-date world tour, which kicks off May 4 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and wraps November 21 in Sydney, Australia.

Dark Matter will hit shelves on April 19. It was produced by Andrew Watt and recorded over just three weeks at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California. The album was unveiled to the public on January 31 during a listening event at the Troubadour in Los Angeles that the band attended.

“I’m getting chills,” Vedder told the crowd, “because I have good memories. We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful, and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”

The tour will hit nine countries all across the globe and will ultimately be their longest run of shows in a calendar year since 2009. They’ll be joined by Deep Sea Diver on the first North American leg, Glen Hansard on the second North American leg, the Murder Capitol in Europe and parts of England, Richard Ashcroft in Dublin and London, and Pixies in Australia and New Zealand.

How to Get Tickets

Ten club members-only presale powered by ticketmaster request, what is ticketmaster request.

Eddie Vedder is using Ticketmaster Request to power this fan club presale. Ticketmaster Request is a simple way to request tickets to popular shows, so you don’t have to compete in a first-come, first-served sale. You can take your time to review the available options and request the right tickets for you. All you need to do is tell us which show(s) you’re interested in, the type of ticket you want and your payment details. If tickets that match your request are available, your card will be charged, and we’ll email you instructions on how to claim them. Note: The show you are confirmed for will be charged by Ticketstoday; the charge will appear as Ticketstoday*E Vedder.

How does the Ten Club ticket request work?

Complete your request in three easy steps. First, tell us what shows and tickets you’re interested in. Then, provide a credit card to complete your ticket request. If your request is fulfilled, your card will be charged and we’ll email you a confirmation to view your tickets in your Ticketmaster account by the end of Friday, August 25. Note: Tickets will not show in your Ticketmaster account until all seating assignments are finalized.

How do I unlock access to the Ten Club ticket request?

Eligible Ten Club members will receive an email from Ten Club with the info. You can also find the presale info on the Member News page. The Ten Club ticket request is for eligible Ten Club members only with active membership accounts as of Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Yes. All fans must be a Ten Club paid member, current as of Sunday, August 20, 2023. However, all fans can register for the Onsale before Tuesday, August 22 at 5 p.m. PT— tap here to get started.

To level the playing field, ticket requests are fulfilled through a randomized selection process while still considering show priority.

What types of ADA Seating is available?

ADA seating locations will vary by venue.

Can I transfer or sell tickets I can’t use?

All tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

To give fans the best chance to buy tickets at face value, the artist has requested tickets to this event be mobile only and restricted from transfer. Once your request has been fulfilled, we will immediately process your credit card and assign sets. Ten Club seating assignments for Eddie Vedder solo shows are not seniority-based , but are assigned at random and mixed with the general public throughout the venue. To increase your chance of getting tickets, please select all the ticket price levels you would be willing to accept. Please do not request tickets for any shows, or seat preferences that you do not actually wish to purchase. All sales are final. All tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

I’m having trouble getting past the Ticketmaster sign in on the Ten Club ticket request site.

Note: Tickets will not show in your Ticketmaster account until all seating assignments are finalized.

My credit card got charged but I haven’t received an email confirming my order yet, what should I do?

Please do a search in your email for Ticketstoday or [email protected]. Also, your credit card company may be slightly ahead. We will notify you by email of your ticket request status and next steps. If you don’t receive your confirmation details within 24 hours, please email Ten Club’s Ticketmaster Support at [email protected]. Please be sure to include your receipt number and the name listed on the request summary. Note: Tickets will not show in your Ticketmaster account until all seating assignments are finalized.

What is the Eddie Vedder Registered Onsale?

Eddie Vedder is using a registration process to get tickets into the hands of fans who want to attend the show. While it doesn’t guarantee that all fans who register will get tickets, it does significantly reduce the number of professional resellers who buy tickets to sell for profit.

If I used Ticketmaster Request can I also request additional tickets through the Onsale Registration?

Yes. You are also encouraged to register for the Onsale for an additional opportunity to get tickets. The Onsale takes place on Friday, August 25, after all confirmed Ten Club requests have been processed. Registration does not guarantee ticket access. Registration is now open and will close on Tuesday, August 22 at 5 p.m. PT.

What happens if my ticket request is not confirmed?

If you’d like to have another opportunity to shop for tickets, register for the Onsale. Fans who are invited to the Onsale will be provided a unique access code to shop for tickets on Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. PT. Ta p here to register for the Onsale.

Are international fans able to request tickets?

Yes, international fans who create a Ticketmaster account can submit a Ten Club ticket request. However, we may limit the availability of the site or any service or product described on the site to any person or geographic area at any time. Please visit our Terms and Conditions for more information about access outside of the U.S.

Eddie Vedder Registered Onsale

Ticketmaster is helping artists give their fans a better opportunity to purchase tickets by creating an extra line of defense against bots and professional resellers who are looking to sell tickets for profit. The process includes three steps:

Step 1: Registration

By registering for the Onsale, you are letting us know that you’re interested in purchasing tickets. From the registration page, you sign in to or create your account, select your preferred show(s) and register your email and phone number. Once completed, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation email letting you know that we got your request. It’s quick, easy and free to sign up.

Step 2: Verification

Next, Ticketmaster vets each request by confirming it belongs to an individual — not a bot — and that it hasn’t been tied to irregular behaviors that could be a sign of a professional seller attempting to access the sale.

Step 3: Access Code or Waitlist

When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of registered fans will get access to the sale and others will be placed on a waitlist. You’ll receive an email on Thursday, August 24 letting you know which group you’re in. If selected to get access to the sale, you’ll get to join the sale using a unique access code sent via text. This code only works when used with your account — it can’t be bought or sold.

While it doesn’t guarantee that all who register will get tickets, it does significantly reduce the number of professional resellers who buy tickets to sell for profit.

Common Questions

How do i register.

  • To register, please visit: HERE
  • Sign in to your My Account or create an account if you don’t have one.
  • Tell us what shows you’re interested in and submit your registration; we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest information.

We’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know your registration was successful and what you can expect next.

How many tickets can I buy with my code?

You can purchase up to two (2) tickets for the one show indicated in the text you received.

Can I register more than once to increase my invitation status?

Only one registration is required, and registering more than once won’t increase your opportunity to receive an invitation. If after you’ve registered, you want to change the dates you selected, just come back and register with your new picks. We only keep the last registration you submitted.

If I edit my registration more than once, will I be disqualified?

No, you won’t be disqualified. If you edit your registration more than once to correct a mistake, such as changing the show you previously selected, we only keep the last registration that you submitted.

I received a registration confirmation email, does that mean I will get tickets?

No, registration does not guarantee tickets. The registration confirmation email is simply to inform you that we have received your information and will be working to verify your account.

A second email will be sent the day before the Onsale letting you know if you will receive a unique access code or if you’ve been placed on the waitlist.

When will I receive an email letting me know if I’ll receive a unique access code or be placed on the waitlist?

On the evening of Thursday, August 24, you’ll receive an email confirming whether you’ve been selected to participate in the Onsale. If you are selected, you will also receive a text with your personal access code.

When submitting my registration, I received a six-digit authentication code from Ticketmaster. Can I use this code to purchase tickets during the Onsale?

No, that code was sent to you to verify your phone number at registration. It’s not a unique access code and cannot be used to purchase tickets.

Does registering mean I get an Onsale access code?

No. Registration allows Ticketmaster to authenticate your account to confirm it belongs to an individual — not a bot — and that it hasn’t been tied to irregular behaviors that could be a sign of a professional seller attempting to access the sale.

If I receive access to the Onsale, am I guaranteed tickets?

No. Access means you have an opportunity to join the Onsale but it is not a guarantee you’ll be able to purchase tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts.

If I am selected, how long do I have to shop for tickets?

While we suggest you purchase as soon as you are able, we understand there may be some planning involved.

What is the ticket limit?

The ticket limit for the Onsale is two (2) tickets per show.

What is Eddie Vedder Premium?

Eddie Vedder Premium seats are located in a variety of preferred locations and account for approximately 10% of ticket inventory per show. They are priced at market rate to offset increased touring costs while also keeping prices low for the rest of the ticket inventory. Eddie Vedder Premium tickets will be available along with regularly priced tickets.

How can I get the seating map in advance?

Seating options vary depending on the event or venue and in some cases may not be available until tickets go on sale. Visit the event page on Ticketmaster to learn more about seating options and maps.

How will I know if I’ve been granted access to the Onsale after I’ve been placed on the waitlist?

If selected, you will receive a text with a unique access code and link to the ticket sale. In the event of any SMS/texting delivery issues, we’ll email your unique access code and link to the email address associated with your Ticketmaster account that you used to register. Access to the Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts. If you’re sent a unique access code and link, you should join the Onsale as soon as possible for your opportunity to purchase tickets.

I’m a real fan of this artist, and not a bot or reseller. Why didn’t I get access?

Selection is not a measure of how big a fan you are. Sometimes, there simply aren’t enough tickets for everyone. When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of fans get access to the Onsale, and others must be placed on the waitlist. The number of fans who receive access depends on the number of tickets currently available — this is done to help create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans.

Since founding legendary alt-rock band Pearl Jam in 1990, Eddie Vedder has earned international recognition as a powerful vocalist and skilled guitar player, landing at No. 7 spot of Rolling Stone’s Best Lead Vocalists of All Time. Ticket buyers are often stunned by his performance style, which includes precise guitar solos and introductory lead-ins to many of his most famous songs, giving audience members more than just a music show, but a lesson in the history of both Vedder and his collaborators. He also features many different styles of songs. Even though he is most famous for his power ballads, audience members still get an eclectic array of songs from his concert catalogue. In May of 2011, Vedder released his second solo studio album, entitled "Ukulele Songs," which featured a collection of covers performed by Vedder on the Ukulele. Its major single, "Longing to Believe," launched the album to acclaim shortly after its release. Vedder is most well-known for his work in Pearl Jam, particularly with albums like "Ten," which rose to No. 207 of Rolling Stone’s list for Top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. During his time with Pearl Jam, Vedder received numerous nominations for Grammys, as well as a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song in 2008 for his single, "Guaranteed," from "Into the Wild." Since his beginnings in the 1980s, Eddie Vedder has become a household name for many rock enthusiasts and is known as one of the most influential people in the music business. He's also considered one of the most influential people in the philanthropy field, particularly with his winning of the 2007 Environmentalist of the Year award from SIMA Waterman’s Honorees.

A bucket list show for me.

Loved it! It was very intimate and well performed. It’s been a major bucket list show for me to see Eddie Vedder and I really enjoyed it.

Outstanding Evening!

It was a fantastic show for a wonderful cause. Eddie was phenomenal, as always, and such a class act. His support of the children of EB Research Partnership (EBRP) is amazing and wonderful. His outstanding performance made me like and respect him more than ever. We traveled from St. Paul, MN to see and support the show, and it was worth it.

Incredible show

My wife and I attended the Eddie Vedder benefit show in Seattle (night 2) and were totally blown away by his performance and the event on the whole. It felt great to support finding a cure for EB, and the stories of children fighting EB were deeply touching. Eddie put on a heartfelt and incredible show. We stayed up for hours afterwards rehashing the experience and are still talking about it several days later. We see a lot of live music and this was definitely in our top-5 ever!

A fantastic show. An incredible talent and remarkable entertainer. Perfect venue for his remarkable performance.

Incredibly talented. Best voice ever !!!! He’s funny too!

Amazing venue! Amazing show!

What can you say when you get to see one of the best artists of our generation play at such a special venue! Wonderful!

Amazing night!

Amazing show and Eddie sounded great! Benaroya Hall is one of the best venues and we had a blast.

Eddie, amazing. Crowd, meh.

Eddie, as usual, was amazing. It would have been more enjoyable, if people were not on their phones. Totally get that people want to capture the moment, but when you have hundreds of people in front of you, their screens blaring light/images back at you, it’s kind of hard to fully embrace and be present for such an amazing event.

Amazing, Eddie is a blessing to our world. Love how he interacts with the audience. It was a spiritual experience! Thank you Ed, Love you!

I love Eddie Vedder so I don’t know how I could ever give a bad review. It was amazing to see him in such an intimate setting and I liked that he sang a few Pearl Jam songs too.

Pearl Jam Announce New Album, Dark Matter, Out April 19, 2024 Plus World Tour

Ten club ticket presale request open now;, registration for general onsale starts today here.

“‘Gigaton’ surprised many fans and critics with how hard-rocking it was. The new one ( ‘Dark Matter’) goes even harder.”- Associated Press

“(Dark Matter)…tailor-made for chanting and fist-pumping.” – SPIN

Pearl Jam will release their twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19, 2024 and launch a 35-date worldwide tour this May. The album’s title track is available now HERE . Produced by multi-GRAMMY® award winning producer Andrew Watt, Dark Matter, marks the band’s first release since critically-acclaimed Gigaton (2020).

Dark Matter is now available for pre-order HERE.

In 2023, the members of Pearl Jam — Eddie Vedder [vocals], Jeff Ament [bass], Stone Gossard [rhythm guitar], Mike McCready [lead guitar], and Matt Cameron [drums]—retreated to Shangri-La Studios in Malibu where they simply plugged in and played with producer Andrew Watt at the helm.

The musicians faced one another in the same space and communicated sonically at the highest level. Writing and recording in a burst of inspiration, Dark Matter was born in just three weeks.

As a result, Dark Matter channels the shared spirit of a group of lifelong creative confidants and brothers in one room playing as if their very lives depended on it. All of the blood, sweat, tears, and energy of a storied career felt renewed and poured into this one body of work.

The band members personally previewed the record with a listening party at the iconic Troubadour in West Hollywood during GRAMMY® week:

Vedder said: “I’m getting chills, because I have good memories. We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”

Ament added, “What Ed said about getting us in a room at this point, we felt like we were about to make a really important record. A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up. He has encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band and how we wrote songs, but as players. He could pinpoint things we did on old songs to the point where I was like, ‘What the fuck is he talking about?’ His excitement was contagious. He’s a force. I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track. I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with.”

The band is celebrating indie record stores with the release of a special edition of Dark Matter on April 20. Only at participating stores as part of Record Store Day. Get more information and find stores at www.recordstoreday.com

Dark Matter album packaging features light painting art by Alexandr Gnezdilov . Light painting is an artistic form of photography where images are created by adjusting a camera’s exposure for an extended period and using a light source, such as a flashlight, to “paint” in the dark. The album cover art was crafted using a large self-made kaleidoscope. Each letter visible on the cover was individually captured and handwritten midair with a specially designed flashlight to create the pearlescent effect. See more info on Alexandr Gnezdilov below.

About Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam is an alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band’s lineup consists of bassist Jeff Ament, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard, lead guitarist Mike McCready, lead singer/guitarist Eddie Vedder and drummer Matt Cameron. Thirty plus years of live performances, twelve studio albums and hundreds of official live concert bootleg releases later, Pearl Jam continues to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The band has sold over 85 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Since the earliest days, Pearl Jam has used its platform to elevate people and causes that often go unnoticed or underserved. Much of the band’s philanthropic work is accomplished through its Vitalogy Foundation which to date has raised more than $50 million for organizations supporting issues such as abortion access, climate change and homelessness, and drawing attention to the fight against diseases such as Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis and epidermolysis bullosa (EB). In addition to the money Vitalogy donates, the band also donates signed instruments, posters and merchandise to organizations to use for their own fundraising purposes. Compounding the impact of Vitalogy Foundation, the band has supported Jeff Ament’s Montana Pool Service building skate parks in Montana and South Dakota. Pearl Jam also lends its voice to notable causes like the West Memphis 3, voting rights and fair ticketing practices. Over the past three decades, the band has a long history of standing up for what it believes in and putting its resources behind those beliefs.

Through its innovative Ten Club and fan engagement, community building, coveted poster designs, and longstanding activism and philanthropy, Pearl Jam continues to have a lasting impact on generations of music lovers.

About Andrew Watt

Since 2015, the multi-GRAMMY-winning and platinum-selling music producer has been a hit-making machine, having collaborated with some of the last decade’s most exciting, and ground-breaking artists, including including Justin Bieber, Ozzy Osbourne, Cardi B., Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Elton John, Lana Del Rey, Mick Jagger, Brandi Carlile, Paul McCartney, Smokey Robinson and Lady Gaga, to name a few.

In 2021, Watt took home his first GRAMMY Award for “Producer of the Year” at the 63rd annual GRAMMY Awards for his work on Ozzy Osbourne’s Ordinary Man , Miley Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts , both of which he executive-produced, Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, which took home the GRAMMY that year for Best Pop Vocal Album , and Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding , which was nominated for Album of the Year . The following year saw Watt produce the widely publicized and critically acclaimed Elton John and Britney Spears collaboration “Hold Me Closer,” the entirety of Eddie Vedder’s solo release Earthling , and Ozzy Osbourne’s GRAMMY Award winning Patient Number 9 , which earned Watt his second GRAMMY win for “Best Metal Album” at the 65th GRAMMY Awards. 2023 was also a stellar year for Watt, kicking off the top of the year with the release of Iggy Pop’s long-awaited 19 th studio album, Every Loser , released via an exclusive partnership between Atlantic Records and Watt’s own Gold Tooth Records. This past summer also saw a slew of high profile and record-breaking releases on which Watt is credited as co-writer and co-producer, including; The Kid LAROI’s single “Forever and Again” which was released as part of the Barbie movie soundtrack, and Jungkook’s “Seven,” which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and amassed a record-breaking 217.1 million streams and 269,000 downloads in just its first week of release. Watt ended the year with the release of “Hackney Diamonds,” The Rolling Stones’ first album of original music in 18 years, which was fully produced by Watt. The album’s lead single “Angry” earned Watt a GRAMMY Nomination for “Best Rock Song” for his work co-writing and producing the track.

Pearl Jam is hitting the road this year, and the band hopes fans can come along without breaking the bank.

On Thursday, the rock group announced its 2023 U.S. tour, commencing at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., on Aug. 31. Pearl Jam said it is taking action to “continue to protect fans’ access to fairly priced tickets.”

The Grammy-winning group — comprised of Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder — opted to “make tickets non-transferable where permitted” and will sell “approximately 10% of tickets through PJ Premium at the market rate to offset increased costs.”

How Ticketmaster became the most hated name in music

Fans, politicians and even artists were complaining about Ticketmaster long before Taylor Swift filled stadiums. But experts say the anger may be misplaced.

Jan. 23, 2023

The announcement continued: “Tickets on this tour will continue to be non-transferable in all states except Illinois where it is prohibited by law. We apologize in advance to Illinois fans who may be subject to increased ticket prices on the secondary market.”

Nontransferable tickets make it less likely that buyers can flip their tickets for a profit by selling to third-party sites and scalpers.

Fans can register for Ticketmaster ‘s Verified Fan program before tickets go on sale on April 28 at 10 a.m. local time. Current Pearl Jam Ten Club members have access to the ticket presale.

Additionally, the band said it will implement “all-in pricing across this tour” in its ticket sales. This means that prices listed on Ticketmaster will include all processing fees “so there are no surprises at check out.”

In a statement shared with The Times Friday, Ticketmaster said it supports Pearl Jam’s efforts to be more transparent about ticket prices.

“Pearl Jam has always advocated on behalf of their fans and we hope more artists, teams and venues follow their lead and start using the all-in pricing display available on Ticketmaster,” Ticketmaster said. “It would be better for fans if all-in pricing was mandated nationally, but in the meantime we created the all-in display option to help fans see the full costs upfront.”

Pearl Jam’s latest efforts to be transparent with its ticket sales and limit reselling come months after music fans took Ticketmaster to court.

In December 2022, Taylor Swift fans filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation Entertainment Inc., for alleged fraud, price-fixing and antitrust law violations while selling advance tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour.

An investigation by the Department of Justice and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing rife with Swift lyrics followed a month later.

In March, fans of rapper Drake reportedly filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster, accusing the platform of inflating ticket prices.

Pearl Jam has had its own issues with Ticketmaster. The quintet clashed with the platform several times over ticket fees in the 1990s.

As part of its U.S. tour, Pearl Jam will make stops in Chicago, Indianapolis and Fort Worth and Austin, Texas. Rock band Inhaler will join Pearl Jam for its shows in Chicago, Indianapolis and Austin.

“We can’t wait to see you out there,” the band wrote.

Pearl Jam announces its first 2024 performances with festivals in Europe

Pearl Jam will headline two European festivals this summer, announcing its first performances of 2024 on Monday.

On July 11, the Seattle grunge icons are scheduled to headline Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain, alongside Dua Lipa , Janelle Monáe , Avril Lagine , Greta Van Fleet and the Smashing Pumpkins , according to a series of tweets posted Monday on Pearl Jam's X account . The band accompanied the announcement with a clip of its 1994 song, "Better Man."

A few days after launching the tour, the "Alive" and "Black" musicians plan to head to Lisbon, Portugal, to play the NOS Alive festival on July 13. Lipa and the Smashing Pumpkins will follow them west and they'll also be joined by the Grammy-nominated Black Pumas, music trio Khruangbin and the ensemble act Floating Points.

Pearl Jam said pre-sale for Mad Cool starts Tuesday. The general sale begins Friday.

The band is likely to announce other upcoming shows for 2024 at a later date. It wrapped this year's tour in September with a pair of shows in Austin, Texas. The 2023 tour was briefly interrupted by an "illness" that prompted them to cancel a Sept. 10 show in Indianapolis. Injured vocal chords and coronavirus infections also kept Pearl Jam and lead singer Eddie Vedder from other dates throughout 2022.

When announcing its 2023 tour earlier this year, Pearl Jam promised more transparency around ticket sales and implemented "all-in pricing." The Ticketmaster system shows a buyer the full price, including processing fees, upfront, "so there are no surprises at check out."

They made the commitment amid an uproar among fans against the ticketing titan, largely coalescing around Ticketmaster's bungled rollout of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour last year. Fans have since taken the live entertainment giant to court .

In December 2022, Taylor Swift fans filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation Entertainment Inc., for alleged fraud, price-fixing and antitrust law violations while selling advance tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour.

An investigation by the Department of Justice and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing — rife with Swift lyrics — followed a month later. Then, in March, fans of rapper Drake reportedly filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster, accusing the company of inflating ticket prices.

At the height of its fame, Pearl Jam famously sued Ticketmaster in 1994, accusing the company of holding a monopoly over ticket distribution in the U.S. The lawsuit prompted a federal investigation and congressional hearing, but the case eventually failed.

The band — comprising original members Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, along with former Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron — has continued to tour each year since filing their complaint, only going on hiatus between 2018 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pearl Jam was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Times staff writer Alexandra Del Rosario contributed to this report.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Pearl Jam ‘s forthcoming album is called “Dark Matter,” its first single of the same title has been released, and the band will start a world tour in May.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers revealed the new details on the project and their 2024 plans on Tuesday.

“Dark Matter,” their 12th studio album and first since 2020’s “Gigaton,” will be released April 19 on Monkeywrench and Republic records. A tour is scheduled to begin May 4 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Singer Eddie Vedder , 59, lead guitarist Mike McCready, 57, and bassist Jeff Ament, 60, played the record for the first time on Jan. 31 for invited guests at the Troubadour club in West Hollywood. “No hyperbole, I think this is our best work,” Vedder said from the stage as he introduced the album.

The band spawned from the Seattle scene of three decades ago shows no signs of softening with age on the album, which leans toward their rocking side even more than “Megaton” did, with drummer Matt Cameron’s pounding at the forefront.

The record, produced by Andrew Watt at Rick Rubin ‘s Shangri-La studio in Malibu, has been ready and awaiting release for about a year.

This story has been corrected to show that the name of Pearl Jam’s previous album was “Gigaton,” not “Megaton.”

Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder sings into a microphone onstage.

There’s some bands that just sound better live.

Phish , Dave Matthews Band and Dead and Company certainly come to mind.

Pearl Jam does too.

Luckily, the legendary grunge rockers are embarking on a brief nine-concert tour this summer.

From Aug. 31 through Sept. 19, Eddie Vedder and co. will shred their way through North America playing gigs in major markets like Saint Paul , Chicago , Fort Worth and more.

How much does it cost to see the “Alive” group live?

Well, all we have to say is you better have an “Even Flow” of income if you want to attend a show.

At the time of publication, the cheapest price we could find on Pearl Jam tickets was $148 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Still, it’s hard to put a price on seeing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band that brought the world “Black,” “Jeremy,” and “Yellow Ledbetter” in person — they really are one of the greatest live bands around.

Want to find out more about the quick jaunt?

We’ve got everything you need to know and more below.

The grunge rockers rarely perform the same set twice in a row.

Still, we want to give you a taste of what you might hear at one one of their upcoming shows.

Leanne Morgan ‘s current tour is called Just Getting Started , and the 58-year-old comedian is living up to that with a comedy series and two more specials at Netflix . The streamer has given a 16-episode order to an untitled multi-cam sitcom, headlined by Morgan in her TV acting debut and executive produced by top comedy showrunner Chuck Lorre ( The Kominsky Method , Bookie ). Additionally, Netflix has picked up two more stand-up specials from Morgan following the success of her first one, the 2023 Leanne Morgan: I’m Every Woman .

Referred to as “the Mrs. Maisel of Appalachia,” Tennessee native Morgan, a married mother of three and a grandmother, used to sell jewelry door-to-door and started performing in women’s living rooms before embarking on a standup career and making a splash with her 2023 Netflix stand-up comedy special I’m Every Woman . (You can watch a trailer below.) It got the attention of many, including Lorre who flew out to Memphis to meet her and hatch the idea for the show after his agents at UTA and Levity’s Judi Marmel, then a producer on Bookie, helped put her on his radar.

“If you’ve seen even ten seconds of Leanne Morgan’s stand up then you know what a unique comedic force she is,” Lorre said. “The theme of starting over is universal, and I cannot think of anyone better to combine heart and comedy than Leanne. I knew I had to work with her, and I’m so excited to bring this story to Netflix.”

This marks Lorre’s return to Netflix where he co-created and executive produced the multi-camera comedy Disjointed starring Kathy Bates and created/exec produced the Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-nominated single-camera The Kominsky Method starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin.

“I’ve dreamed of this since childhood, and I can’t believe it has come true! When I started comedy 25 years ago, my goal was to be a part of a sitcom,” Morgan said. “It just goes to show you it’s never too late, and dreams do come true. I’m a grandmama from Tennessee, and now I have a TV show with Chuck Lorre and Netflix. What in the world!?”

What in the World?! also happens to be the title of Morgan’s debut book, set for a September release.

Lorre, Morgan, McMartin and Marmel are executive producing the untitled series, which comes from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television where the company is based.

“We’re so thrilled to deepen our partnership with Leanne Morgan, whose singular and hilarious voice hooked viewers with her debut Netflix special last year, and to reunite with the legendary Chuck Lorre. We’re looking forward to their collaboration on Netflix’s next big comedy series,” said Tracey Pakosta, Head of Comedy, Netflix.

Lorre has created, executive produced or written more than 1,000 episodes of television, spanning the past three decades. Currently, he has comedy series Bookie on Max, which he co-created and executive produces, as well as the departing Bob Hearts Abishola and Young Sheldon on CBS, with a Georgie and Mandy spinoff from Young Sheldon coming to the broadcast network next season. His previous credits also include CBS’s The Big Bang Theory , Mom , Mike & Molly , Two and a Half Men and Cybill as well as ABC’s Dharma & Greg and Roseanne . He is repped by UTA.

Morgan, who transitioned from intimate comedy clubs to arenas following the success of her Netflix special, has a role in the upcoming Will Ferrell-Reese Witherspoon comedy feature Cordially Invited . She is repped by UTA, Levity and Gregg Gellman and Cary Dobkin.

Review: Neil Young & Crazy Horse strike heart of gold at tour-opening San Diego concert

Neil Young performing at SDSU on April 24, 2024.

The concert began with an epic, 15-minute version of ‘Cortez The Killer’ that featured extra lyrics recently unearthed by Young. Guitarist-singer Micah Nelson, Willie’s son, very ably assumed the role in Crazy Horse of Nils Lofgren, now on tour with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.

When Neil Young sang “rock and roll will never die” near the conclusion of his tour-opening LOVE EARTH concert with Crazy Horse Wednesday in San Diego, you believed him.

Those words, from his 1978 song, “My My Hey Hey (Into the Black),” sounded like a defiant vow in the face of possible obsolescence 46 years ago. Now, they are a statement of fact from a proud maverick who sounds more committed than ever, even — or, rather, especially — at a time when rock is increasingly becoming a niche genre pushed aside by formulaic pop, hip-hop and dance-music.

At 78, Young remains a staunch keeper of the flame whose passion for music burns as bright as ever. If anyone thinks this veteran singer, songwriter and guitarist is ready to kick back in his old age, he and his band immediately and convincingly refuted such notions with their powerful, nearly two-hour performance at SDSU’s Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre. (They are set to perform a second sold-out show at the same venue Thursday night.)

Young and his three-man band opened with “Cortez the Killer,” an epic number from their 1975 album, “Zuma.” But this was no sentimental journey down nostalgia lane, nor was it a tentative, shake-off-the-dust run through.

Their carefully calibrated version of “Cortez” built to a series of powerful climaxes Monday and lasted 15 minutes — nearly twice as long as the original on “Zuma.” The song began with an opening guitar jam that lasted 7 minutes before Young’s reedy vocals commenced. For good measure, near the conclusion of “Cortez,” he sang — for the first time anywhere in concert — a missing verse he recently came upon that had been cut from the 1975 recording.

The unearthed lyrics provided additional depth and a palpable sense of despair to Young’s tour de force song about Hernán Cortez, the bloody Spanish conqueror of Mexico’s Aztec Empire: I floated on the water / I ate that ocean wave / Two weeks after the slaughter / I was living in a cave / They came too late to get me / But there’s no one here to set me free / From this rocky grave / To that snowed-out ocean wave.

The next selection was the buoyant “Cinnamon Girl,” a choice cut from 1969’s “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere,” the first album Young and Crazy Horse made together. It clocked in at a crisp three minutes.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse performed at the Open Air Theatre at San Diego State April 24, 2024.

The rest of the concert included several other extended jams, with “Down by the River” and “Love and Only Love” both clocking in at a glorious 16 minutes (but not lasting one second too long). Conversely, Young’s tender solo acoustic versions of “Comes a Time,” “Heart of Gold” and “Human Highway” were each delivered with admirable concision.

The manner in which he alternated between longer and shorter selections served as a master class on how to pace a concert to build momentum and achieve maximum dynamic tension and release.

The final encore was an eight-minute rendition of “My My Hey Hey (Into the Black),” whose line There’s more to the picture than meets the eye could be a synopsis of Young’s career and his dogged determination to do things his way, every time, no matter what the trends of the day may be.

At SDSU, Young and his longtime Crazy Horse compadres — bassist/singer Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina, both 80 — were focused and in sync from start to finish. They were joined by guitarist/singer Micah Nelson, 33, who on Monday had played a key role accompanying his father, Willie Nelson, at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

Micah Nelson was performing in place of Crazy Horse charter member Nils Lofgren, who is now on tour in The E Street Band with his other longtime employer, Bruce Springsteen. Those are big shoes to fill, but Nelson was so in sync with Young you’d think they had been musical partners for decades.

The stage was bedecked with the giant, faux Fender guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets and road cases Young and Crazy Horse used on their 1978 Rust Never Sleeps tour. There were no video screens on the stage, the better for the audience — which included basketball great Bill Walton and Las Vegas Raiders NFL team owner Mark Davis — to focus completely on the music at hand.

The SDSU concert — the start of Young and Crazy Horse’s first major tour together in a decade — came a year after Young’s mesmerizing solo concert here at The Shell. Monday’s performance was even more mesmerizing, in large part because of the musical empathy between the four musicians.

When they locked into a groove, which was often, they seemed to be of one mind. And it’s difficult to think of any other rock band of any vintage that can gain as much traction from so many slow-paced songs.

With few exceptions, Young’s biting guitar solos contained a minimum of notes, but he made each one count, repeatedly going into a zone where feeling and intensity trump quantity. Or, to invoke the title of Young’s 1988 album: “This Note’s For You.”

Apart from a heartfelt spoken tribute to the late David Briggs — the producer of many of Young’s albums with (and without) Crazy Horse — Young’s comments to the audience were along the lines of: “Thank you” and “How ya doin’?”

Otherwise, he let his music speak for him, and it spoke volumes.
