Honeywell Voyager 1400g Installation

1. Stelle sicher, dass du den richtigen Barcode-Scanner hast

Der Scanner muss die folgenden Anforderungen erfüllen:

• C OM-Modus:  Der Scanner verfügt über einen Serial Emulation Mode (virtueller COM-Port-Modus)
• USB-Schnittstelle:  Das bedeutet, dass er über USB an den Computer angeschlossen wird.
• Er kann das gewünschte Barcode-Format dekodieren:  Wenn du zum Beispiel QR-Codes verwenden möchtest, muss der Scanner in der Lage sein, 2D-Barcodes zu dekodieren.
• Mobile Screen Reading:  Dieser Barcode-Scanner enthält eine mobile Bildschirmlesefunktion.

2. Installiere die Treiber deines Honeywell 1400g

Bevor der Scanner verwendet werden kann, müssen einige Treiber auf dem Computer installiert werden.

• Stelle sicher, dass der Barcode-Scanner nicht eingesteckt ist.
• Lade die Treiber für den  USB-Seriell-Emulationsmodus (virtuelle COM-Port-Treiber)  herunter.  Klicke hier, zum Herunterladen .
• Sobald der Treiber heruntergeladen wurde kannst du den Inhalt in einen neuen Ordner einfügen.

• Öffne den enthaltenen Ordner und klicke mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Datei  setup.bat.  Klicke dann auf  Ausführen als Administrator  und folge den Schritten, um die Installation abzuschließen

3. Scannen der Konfigurations-Barcodes

Es gibt 3 Strichcodes, die du einscannen musst, um den Scanner richtig einzustellen.  Wenn du alle Barcodes gescannt hast, ziehst du den Scanner ab und schließt ihn wieder an:

• Scanne den folgenden Barcode ein, um den Serial Emulation Mode zu aktivieren. Sobald du dies getan hast, solltest du einen Piepton hören:

• Scanne schließlich den folgenden Barcode ein, um die Funktion "Präsentationsmodus" zu aktivieren:

4. Stelle sicher, dass das Lesegerät korrekt an den Computer angeschlossen ist.

• Schließe das Lesegerät an den Computer an, falls du dies noch nicht getan haben solltest.

• Identifiziere die COM-Nummer des Barcodescanners im Menü COM/LPT-Anschlüsse. (Du benötigst diese Nummer später)

5.  Installiere den Virtuagym-Check-in-Client

Bitte beachte, dass unsere Check-in-Software nur mit Windows-Computern kompatibel ist. Empfohlene Spezifikationen: Windows 7 oder höher, 64-Bit-Betriebssystem, 4 GB RAM.

• Öffne dein Portal > Gehe zu deinen Systemeinstellungen > Hardware und Integrationen > Klicke hier, um die Einrichtung des Check-in-Clients herunterzuladen.  Klicke hier, um das Installationsprogramm deiner Anmeldung herunterzuladen.
• Nachdem der Download abgeschlossen ist, machst du einen Doppelklickauf die .exe-Datei und klickst  dann auf Installieren , um die Installation zu starten:

• Wenn die Installation abgeschlossen ist, siehst du die folgende Meldung, die anzeigt, dass du noch kein Lesegerät hinzugefügt hast. Klicke auf OK , um fortzufahren.

6. Erstelle einen Verbindungsschlüssel in deinem Portal

Bevor du mit dem Installationsprozess fortfährst, musst du eine Verbindung in deinem Online-Portal herstellen. Eine Verbindung ist eine Einstellung im System, die eine Kommunikationsschnittstelle zwischen dem Online-Portal und der soeben installierten Check-in-Software ermöglicht.

Durch das Anlegen einer Check-in-Verbindung kannst du auch die Geschäftsregeln festlegen. Geschäftsregeln sind Bedingungen und Einschränkungen, die deine Kunden erfüllen müssen, wenn sie auf die Einrichtungen zugreifen wollen. So erstellst du eine neue Verbindung:

• Gehe zu deinem Portal > Systemeinstellungen  >  Hardware und Integrationen .
• Klicke auf Neu , um eine neue Verbindung zu erstellen.
• Lege einen Namen und eine Beschreibung fest (optional)
• Speichere  die Verbindung

• Sobald die Verbindung gespeichert wurde, klicke einfach darauf und kopiere den API-Schlüssel:

7. Einrichten des Check-in-Clients

Wenn die Software auf Niederländisch angezeigt wird, öffne die Einstellungen erneut und wähle Duitse aus dem T aal-Dropdown-Menü , dann klicken Sie auf Programm neu starten  

• Klicke auf Neu hinzufügen , um eine neue Verbindung hinzuzufügen.
• Wähle Serial und gib den Lesernamen ein.
• Füge den API-Schlüssel in das Textfeld ein
• Wähle den COM-Port des Scanners aus dem Dropdown-Menü und klicke auf OK .
• Klicke dann auf Programm neu starten

8. Teste die Verbindung

Nach dem Hinzufügen des Lesegeräts wird empfohlen, die Verbindung zu testen, um sicherzustellen, dass sie funktioniert. Dazu ist folgendes notwendig:

• Scanne einen Barcode 
• Wenn der Check-in-Client auf den Scan reagiert, bedeutet dies, dass das Lesegerät einsatzbereit ist. Du wirst feststellen, dass unten rechts auf deinem Bildschirm eine Benachrichtigung erscheint und du siehst einen Eintrag in der Anmelde-/Login-Historie

1 - 4 Connecting with RS232 Serial P or t 1. Turn off power to the terminal/computer. 2. Connect the appropriate interface cable to the scanner. Note: For the scanner to work properly , you must have the correct cable for your type of terminal/computer.

1 - 5 Connecting with RS485 A scanner or cordless base can be connected fo r an IBM POS terminal interf ace. 1. Connect the appropriate interface ca ble to the device, then to the com- puter. 2. Turn the terminal/computer powe r back on. The scanner beeps.

1 - 6 Reading T echniques The scanner has a view finder that projects a bright red aiming beam that corre- sponds to the scanner’ s hor izontal fiel d of vie w . The aiming beam should be centered ov er the bar code, but it can be positioned in any direction f or a good read.

1 - 7 Setting Custom Defaults Y ou hav e the ability to create a set of menu commands as your o wn, custom def aults. T o do so , scan the Set Custom Defaults bar code below bef ore scannning the menu commands f or your custom defaults .

1 - 8 Resetting the F actory Defaults If you aren’t sure what prog ramming opt ions are in your scanner , or you’ve changed some options and want to restore the scanner to f actor y default set- tings, first scan the Remo ve Custom Defaults bar code, then scan Activate Defaults .

2 - 1 2 Pr ogramming the Interface Intr oduction This chapter describes how to program y our system for the desired interf ace. Pr ogramming the Interface - Plug and Pla y Plug and Pla y bar codes provide in stant scanner set up f or commonly used interf aces.

2 - 2 RS232 Serial P or t The RS232 Interface bar code is used when connectin g to the serial por t of a PC or terminal. The following RS232 Interface bar code also progr ams a car- riage retur n (CR) and a line feed (LF) su ffix, baud r ate, and data f or mat as indi- cated below .

2 - 3 Each bar code abov e also programs th e follo wing suffixes f o r each symbology: * Suffixes programmed for Code 128 with IBM 4683 Port 5B, IBM 4683 Port 9B HHBCR-1, and IBM 4683 Port 17 Interfa.

2 - 4 USB IBM SureP os Scan one of the f ollowing “Plug and Pla y ” codes to program the scanner fo r an IBM SureP os (USB handheld scanner) or IBM SureP os (USB tabletop scanner) interf ace. Note: After scanning one of these code s, you must power cycle the cash register.

2 - 5 USB HID Scan the f ollowing code to progr am th e scanner fo r USB HID bar code scan- ners. USB Serial Scan the f ollowing code to progr am th e scanner to emulate a regular RS232- based COM P or t. If you are using a Micr osoft® Windows® PC , you will need to download a driver from the Hone ywell website (www.

2 - 6 V erifone ® Rub y T erminal Default Settings Scan the f ollowing Plug and Pla y code to program the scanner for a V erifone Ruby terminal. This bar code sets the baud rate to 1200 bps and the data f or- mat to 8 data bits, no parity bit, 1 stop bi t.

2 - 7 Honeywell Bioptic A ux P or t Configuration Scan the f ollowing Plug and Pla y code to program the scanner f or a Honeyw ell bioptic scanner auxiliar y por t configuration. This bar code sets the baud rate to 38400 bps and the data f ormat to 8 data bits, no parity , 1 stop bit.

2 - 8 Wincor Nixdorf T erminal Default Settings Scan the f ollowing Plug and Pla y code to program the scanner for a Wincor Nix- dorf terminal. This bar code sets the b aud rate to 9600 bps and the data format to 8 data bits, no parity , 1 stop bit.

2 - 9 Ke yboard Country Lay out Scan the appropriate countr y code belo w to program the k eyboard la yout f or your country or language. As a general rule, the f ollowing characters are sup- por ted,.

2 - 15 Ke yboard Country (continued) Ke yboard Style This programs k eyboard styles, such as Caps Loc k and Shift Lock. If you ha ve used Keyboard Conversion settings, the y will override any of the f ollowing K ey- board Style settings. Def ault = Regular .

2 - 16 Regular is used when you normally hav e the Caps Lock ke y off. Caps Lock is used when you normally hav e the Caps Lock ke y on. Shift Lock is used when you normally hav e the Shift Lock ke y on (not common to U .S. ke yboards). A utomatic Caps Lock is used if y ou change the Caps Lock ke y on and off .

2 - 17 Emulate External K eyboar d should be scanned if you do not hav e an external ke yboard (IBM A T or equivalent). Note: After scanning the Emulate External Keyboard bar code, you must power cycle your computer. Ke yboard Con version Alphabetic ke yboard characters can be forced to be all upper case or all lo wer- case.

2 - 18 Def ault = Off. Ke yboard Modifier s This modifies special ke yboard feat ures, such as CTRL+ ASCII codes and T urbo Mode. Control + ASCII Mode On: The scanner sends ke y co mbinations for ASCII control characters f or values 00-1F . Windo ws is the preferred mode.

2 - 19 T urbo Mode: The scanner sends characters to a te rminal faster . If the ter minal drops characters, do not use T urbo Mode. Def ault = Off Numeric Ke ypad Mode: Sends numeric characters as if entered from a numeric ke ypad.

2 - 20 RS232 Baud Rate Baud Rate sends the data from the scanner to the terminal at the specified rate. The host terminal must be set for the same baud rate as the scanner .

2 - 21 RS232 W ord Length: Data Bits, Stop Bits, and P arity Data Bits sets the word length at 7 or 8 bits of data per character . If an applica- tion requires only ASCII He x characters 0 through 7F decimal (te xt, digits, and punctuation), select 7 data bits.

2 - 22 RS232 Receiver Time-Out The unit sta ys aw ake to receiv e data until the RS232 Re ceiver Time-Out e xpires. A manual trigge r resets the time-out. Whe n an RS232 receiver is sleeping, a character ma y be sent to wa ke up the receiv er and reset the time- out.

2 - 23 RS232 Timeout When using Flow Control with Timeout, y ou must program the length of the dela y you w ant to wait f or CTS from th e host. Set the length (in millisec- onds) f or a timeout by sc.

2 - 24 the scanner waits for ACK/NAK again. T ur n on the ACK/NAK protocol b y scanning the A CK/NAK On bar code below . T o turn off the protocol, scan A CK/NAK Off . Def ault = A CK/NAK Off . Scanner to Bioptic Comm unication The f ollowing settings are used to set up communication betw een Honeyw ell scanners and bioptic scanners.

2 - 25 Scanner -Bioptic A CK/NAK Mode Bioptic A CK/Nak On must be scanned so the sc anner will wait f or an ACK or NAK from a bioptic scanner afte r each pack et is sent. The Scanner- Bioptic A CK/NAK Timeout (below) cont rols ho w long the scanner will wait fo r a r e s p o n s e.

3 - 1 3 Input/Output Settings P ower Up Beeper The scanner can be programmed to beep when it’ s powered up . Scan the Off bar code(s) if you don’t w ant a power up beep . 3 - 4 LED – Good Read The LED indicator can be programmed On or Off in response to a good read. Def ault = On. Number of Beeps – Good Read The number of beeps of a good read can be progr ammed from 1 - 9. The same number of beeps will be applied to the beep er and LED in response to a good read.

3 - 5 Good Read Delay This sets the minimum amount of time bef ore the scanner can read another bar code. Def ault = 0 ms (No Dela y). User -Specified Good Read Delay If you w ant to set your own leng.

3 - 6 LED Illumination - Manual T rigger If you wish to set the illumination LED brightness, scan one of the bar codes below . This sets the LED illumination for the scanner when the trig- ger is pressed. Def ault = High. Note: The LEDs are like a flash on a camera.

3 - 7 Presentation Mode Presentation Mode uses ambient light to detect bar codes. The LED dims until a bar code is presented to the scanner , then the LED br ightens to read the code. If the light le vel in the room is not high enough, Presentation Mode ma y not work properly .

3 - 8 Presentation Centering Use Presentation Centering to narrow th e scanner’ s field of view when it is in the stand to make sure the scanner reads only those bar codes intended by the user . F o r instance, if multip le codes are placed closely together , Presentation Centering will insure that only the desired codes are read.

3 - 9 Scan Presentation Centering On , then scan one of the f ollowing bar codes to change the top , bottom, left, or right of the centering window . Then scan the percent you w ant to shift the centering window using digits on the inside back co ver of this manu al.

3 - 10 Mobile Phone Read Mode When this mode is selected, your scan ner is optimized to read bar codes from mobile phone or other LED displa ys. Ho w e ver , the speed of scanning pr inted bar codes ma y be slightly low er w hen this mode is enabled. Note: To turn off Mobil Phone Read Mo de, scan the Manual Trigger Mode bar code (see page 3-5 ).

3 - 12 Centering Use Centering to narrow the scanner’ s fiel d of view to make sure that when the scanner is hand-held, it re ads only those bar codes in tended by the user . F or instance, if multiple codes are placed clos ely together , center ing will insure that only the desired codes are read.

3 - 15 W orking Orientation Some bar codes are direction-sensitive . For e xample, KIX codes and OCR can misread when scanned sidew ays or upside down. Use the working orientation settings if your direction-sensitiv e codes will not usually be presented upr ight to the scanner .

4 - 1 4 Data Editing Prefix/Suffix Overview When a bar code is scanned, additional in fo rm ation is sent to the host computer along with the bar code data. This gr oup of bar code data and additional, user-defined data is called a “message stri ng.

4 - 2 symbology to which you want to apply the prefix or suffix. For example, for Code 128, Code ID is “j” and Hex ID is “6A”. Step 3. Scan the 2 hex digits from the Programming Chart inside the back cover of this manual or scan 9 , 9 for all symbologies.

4 - 3 Step 1. Scan the Clear One Prefix or Clear One Suffix symbol. Step 2. Determine the 2 digit Hex val ue from the Symbology Chart (included in the Symbology Chart, beginning on page A-1) for the symbology from which you want to clear the prefix or suffix.

4 - 5 Inter character Dela y An intercharacter dela y of up to 500 0 milliseconds (in 5ms increments) may be placed between the transmission of each char acter of scanned data.

4 - 6 Interfunction Dela y An interfunction dela y of up to 5000 milliseconds (in 5ms increments) may be placed between the transmission of each segment of the message string. Scan the Interfunction Delay bar code below , then scan the num- ber of 5ms dela ys, and the Save bar code using the Programming Chart inside the back co ver of this manual.

5 - 1 5 Data Formatting Data Format Editor Intr oduction Y ou ma y use the Data F ormat Editor to change the scanner’s output. F or exam- ple, y ou can use the Data F ormat Editor to inser t characters at cer tain points in bar code data as it is scanned.

5 - 4 Data Format Editor Commands Send Commands Send all character s F1 Include in the output message all of the characters from the input message, starting from current cursor position, followed by an insert character. Syntax = F1xx where xx stands for the insert character’s hex value for its ASCII code.

5 - 5 ASCII code, and xx stands for the inse rt character’s hex value for its ASCII code. Ref er to the ASCII Conversion Chart (Code Page 1252), beginning on page A-4 for decimal, hex and character codes.
