Cruise itinerary

Arrive at Tuan Chau Pier. Get on board at around 12:15pm. 

After listening to cruise safety instruction and checking in your room, enjoy the deluxe Vietnamese set menu while viewing the panorama of Halong Bay through scenic windows of the cruise ship. By 16:00, embark at Titop Island. You have more than 1 hour for swimming or sunbathing on Titop beach, or climbing to the top of the mountain and admiring the magnificent bay view.

Set sail again to the area where we will drop anchor for the night.

Enjoy our special session on carving fruits and vegetables, performed by our talented chef. You will also learn the basics of making and decorating some Vietnamese food. Dinner will be served soon after.

The night might never be more energetic with a long list of entertainments: movie night, board games, massage services and especially squid fishing.

Get up early for the Taichi morning session at 6:45, and then enjoy a cup of tea as you immerse in the peaceful morning in Halong Bay.  At 7:45, the cruise ship transfer to Surprise Cave, the largest cave of Halong Bay. Climb up the stairs and be amazed by the stunning stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave.

Come back to the boat at 9:00 for check out and packing-up for the trip back to Halong City. After full buffet breakfast, guests can relax in the dining room or on sundeck. Arrive at Tuan Chau pier at 11:00 then get on the minivan back to Hanoi.

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel for a car trip to Halong City (transfer by shuttle bus or private vehicle, not included in cabin price). Take advantage of the trip to watch the rustic sceneries of Vietnam’s village life on road sides. Arrive at the pier at 11:30 then transfer to the cruise ship and enjoy welcome drink. 

After listening to cruise safety instruction and checking in your room, enjoy exquisite lunch set while viewing the panorama of Halong Bay through scenic windows of the cruise ship. You will see the many caves and grottos on the way as we cruise through the water body of Halong Bay. By 16:00, embark at Titop Island. You have more than 1 hour for swimming or sunbathing on Titop beach, or climbing to the top of the mountain and admiring the magnificent bay view.

Depart and sail for about 30 minutes to the place where we will anchor for the night.

Those interested can join us in the dining hall to learn to make traditional Vietnamese food with our Chef and especially watch our fruit and vegetable carving session. Dinner will be served soon after, featuring both local and international cuisines.

In the evening, there are board games available if you want some family activities or you can try your luck at squid fishing which is a unique activity at night in Halong Bay.

The day starts early but enthusiastically with Tai Chi morning class on the sundeck and light breakfast at 7:45am. Transfer by tender to the Indochina Sails day boat and begin to cruise to Lan Ha Bay are which is around 25 km from Halong Bay. The adventure is even more exciting as you will be visiting Dark - Bright Cave - the underwater cave with tranquil scenery of a lagoon. You have around 1 hour and a half to discover this area.

At 11:30, return to the day boat and enjoy a Vietnamese style lunch.

The day boat progresses to Ba Trai Dao Area where you can immerse in the crystal clear water of Lan Ha Bay. Later, you have almost 1 hour to visit a local pearl farm in Halong Bay on the way back to the mother boat. Here you can learn about the process of growing and harvesting pearl in Halong. Come back to the cruise ship at 16:00 and embark for the night.

Enjoy a long list of deluxe Vietnamese and Western fares for dinner after such an activity-packed day. Then it is free time for you to spend at your own leisure. Our happy hour will resume from 21:00 to 23:00.

Full Itinerary

12:15 : Guests gather at Tuan Chau Marina and board Indochina Sails. At the shared lounge, you will be offered a welcome drink and delivered a brief introduction as well as some safety guide on board.

13:15 – 14:00 : A luxurious set menu of Vietnamese food is served at the restaurant. You will enjoy your sumptuous meal while the boat of Indochina Sails is heading to Halong Bay.

14:00 – 16:00 : Indochina Sails passes by a stunning seascape of Halong Bay, where tourists can have some sightseeing on the sundeck. The iconic and unique islets of Halong Bay will appear in front of your eyes, including Trong Mai Islet, Ga Choi Islet, Cho Da Islet and Finger Islet.

16:00 : The very first stop in your journey to Halong Bay is Sung Sot Cave, or Surprise Cave. This cave is one of the most beautiful limestone karst grottoes in Halong Bay, which is favored by almost all tourists when coming to this world heritage site. After ascending stone steps, you will reach a world of splendid light, stalagmites and stalactites, which will really surprise you.

17:30 : Passengers get back to the main boat of Indochina Sails. The vessel will depart for the anchorage point in Halong Bay and stay there overnight.

18:30 – 19:00 : A cooking class on the sundeck will show you how to carve fruits and vegetables to decorate dishes. You also learn how to make some Vietnamese specialties and have a chance to try your product.

19:30 : Savor your dinner at the luxurious restaurant of Indochina Sails.

20:45 : This is time for evening activities. Tourists are free to take part in some favorite activities such as board games, squid fishing and massage service.

21:00 – 23:00 : Happy Hour deal is available at the bar of Indochina Sails. You can have more drinks with the “buy 1 get 1” program.

23:00 : Enjoy a good night at your deluxe cabin. End of the first day program.

06:30 : Get up and enjoy your light breakfast with coffee, tea and pastries at the dining room of Indochina Sails.

07:45 – 09:00 : The tender boat will take you to visit Ti Top Island, which is one of the most ideal places for swimming and hiking in Halong Bay. Spending about one hour there, you can go around to sightsee and climb the mountain to admire the panoramic view of Halong Bay from above. Sunbathing and swimming on this island are also good ideas.

09:00 : Returning to the main boat, you will have time to refresh at your cabin and collect all your luggage. All your belongings need to be collected and brought outside the cabin.

09:30 : Tourists will enjoy a delicious full breakfast. Your bill will be settled after that at the reception area. After completing all the procedures, you can spend some time contemplating the majestic beauty of Halong Bay on the sundeck for the last time before getting to the harbor.

11:00 : Indochina Sails get back to Tuan Chau Marina. End of the wonderful journey to Halong Bay.

06:30 : Start your second day in Halong Bay with a light breakfast in the dining room. You will be served pastries, coffee and tea.

06:45 : Join a Taichi exercise on the sundeck to ease your mind and freshen up your muscles before joining the excursion with Indochina Sails.

07:45 : A full breakfast is available at the dining room of Indochina Sails.

08:45 – 10:15 : Tourists will move to the day boat of Indochina Sails, which is a spacious wooden boat with a sundeck, dining room and shared space. Luon Cave is the first stopover of the day boat on the second day. This funnel-shaped cave is an ideal destination for kayaking. Besides, you can catch the sight of a golden-hair monkey while sightseeing there.

10:30 : Cua Van Floating Village is the nextstop of Indochina Sails in the journey to Halong Bay. This is the most significant fishing village that is still remaining in this area. There you can choose a kayak or bamboo boat sailed by the locals to wander around, visit the plain floating houses and listen to the story of the locals. Cua Van Floating Cultural Center is a worth-visit point in this pristine village.

12:30 : You will be served with lunch on the day boat.

14:30 : Pearl Farm is the next destination in your excursions. There you will get to know more about the process to implant, grow and harvest shining pearls to make splendid jewelry.

15:30 : The tender boat will take you back to the main vessel of Indochina Sails. While the cruise is sailing towards the overnight area, you can relax on board and enjoy the sparkling sunset in Halong Bay.

19:30 : Enjoy your tasty dinner with Vietnamese specialties at the restaurant.

As usual, travelers stay overnight at hotels in Hanoi Old quarter's Area at night before, then we pick up  around 8am - 9am  in the next morning (Transfer from Hanoi to cruise harbor might take around 2-4 hours, depends on tours' class you book).

Travelers also flight from south of Vietnam/ Overseas to airport (Hai Phong airport, Noi Bai airport, Van Don airport) then do cruise on the same day, we can arrange for you transfer from airports directly to cruise harbors and join cruise but make sure u book early flight before 8am - 9am - 10am. Travelers must pay extra fee for car

Travelers also stay in near cruise harbor (for cruises are departed from Halong city), and you go to cruise harbor yourself, we show you location where to pick up easily.

If u stay in Tam Coc - Ninh Binh, we also arrange a private car (pay extra  fee ~ 170km- 3.5/4 hours driving) to cruise harbor and pick up at 8am from your hotels in Ninh Binh

The name halong came from the legend that a dragon landed on this bay. The view is wonderful. Each one of scattered islands gave me wonderful photos. My trip was just a day trip and I think it is too short. Spend at least one night. Yes photos of ha long bay are stunning, but you will be more stunned if you actually go there and see them with your own eyes..

Halong Bay was Visit on our Cambodia/Vietnam tour, we were very lucky to have our own guide and Junk Boat with crew.The Bay is such a beautiful place, we had a wonderful time spending all morning on the boat with lunch cooked for us.Halong Bay is certainly a must Visit if touring North Vietnam, fully recommended..

The views of the limestone islands in the Bay are stunning, especially if the weather cooperates. Strongly encourage one night on one of the many boats that ply the bay to allow for a less hurried itinerary and the very pleasant experiences of sunrise and sunset views. The boats are highly regulated and must stick to designated areas, but they are enough for lots of enjoyment. Various stops at caves, lookouts, kayaking, and small beach. Very good food on board our cruise with A-Class Stellar Cruises! Cabin was much cleaner and more "luxurious" than I expected..

Took the float plane both ways to save time. We only had one day and this was the best way to spend it. Thoroughly recommend the organisation we went with..

2 night 3 day cruise with v spirit, highly recommend, magic site even though we didn't go far into the bay. Lots of other boats at times added and detracted from the experience. Halong Bay has been a dream of mine to visit for so long. It was breathtakingly beautiful and I could never get tired of the views! The colours and layers of all the cliffs and mountains are spectacular. Just make sure you find the right cruise - ours was overpriced and not worth it so do your research first! Also don't be surprised that there are a large number of boats around at night as they all park up together, but during the day we seemed to be on our own quite a lot. I think in the future this place won't be so nice as there is already so much rubbish floating around that it will continue to accumulate. Save this place by not littering and taking any rubbish back with you that you can..

This area has been a World Heritage Place among seven wonders of nature since 1994. What a beautiful spot on earth. A Halong Bay with its breathtaking beauty was undeniable and it is the most popular site to visit in Hanoi. There are many other things to do pay on the bay as well, like caving many many caves to choose from. Very helpful and informative and fun as well. If by overnight cruise, you can kayak by yourself to discover the bay, the cave more exciting..

the local village tour to Muong Hoa valley, Lao Chai and ta Vun village were worth for a visit. They also arrange a free taxi from our hotel in Sapa town to cable car station for us to visit Fansian peak..

Cabins onboard are a bit small but come with the necessary equipment, comfortable bedding, and en-suite bathrooms. Ornamental items are notable ceramics from Bat Trang pottery village. Notably, the president suite has a Jacuzzi tub.

The cruise was much more fun thanks to the crew. The guide was very attentive and informative and tried his best to make our trip beyond our expectations. We booked a 2 night trip and the activities were diversified. We loved the kayaking trip on the 2nd day and swimming in the middle of the bay was perfect. If you also seek an ancient-vibe cruise with an activity-filled itinerary and a reasonable price, this is the one.

The boat looks old and there needs to be some maintenance. However, the cabins were well maintained and fully equipped. Our Deluxe cabins were clean and cozy. Watching the bay from the top deck was excellent. Excursions were interesting yet more night activities if possible.

Superb cruise! My sister and I booked 2 nights and were happy we booked it instead of 1 night. We accessed some other areas which are said to be more isolated and it really does. Kayaking and swimming were the best. The island and the cave were very nice yet way too crowded. Food was plentiful and varied in every meal. Highly recommended!

Love the food and the service by the Indochina Sails team. The cave was magnificent and the panoramic view was superb. A must-do in Vietnam!

The boat was aged yet acceptable. We appreciate experiences with Indochina Sails. There were a variety of things to experience such as hiking, swimming, caving, cooking class, fishing, and doing Taichi exercise. The cabin was neat and comfortable. Food for the buffet lunch and brunch was amazing. Cocktails were pretty good yet overall beverages were a bit overpriced.

Halong Bay was really stunning. We took a lot of photos and the staff was kind enough to take some for us. The tour guide was knowledgeable and willing to share all useful information. Others were friendly and nice. We were well fed and the food was yummy. We booked a Superior cabin which was cozy and clean. However, the air-con did not work well.

We love the classic style of Indochina Sails. There were not many people on our trip and that was perfect. We enjoyed the buffet with plenty of options and the staff was very caring. The activities were nice with a cave and an island. The view of Halong Bay was just breathtaking.

Such a memorable Halong Bay trip. We booked a 1 night program and everything was well organized. We arranged the transportation by ourselves and the staff welcomed and supported us with check in timely. Our cabin was compact with enough basic amenities and a nice view from the window. Food was nice. Kayaking was excellent yet should be included in the price. Anyway, we really love the trip. Thank you very much!
