The actor, currently engrossed in the filming of his upcoming project under Sriram Adittya's direction, shared the exciting news with fans.

"Journey," a film that achieved significant success during its original release, is set to captivate audiences once again as it returns to the big screen in March. While the exact date of the re-release is yet to be officially confirmed, fans are eagerly anticipating the chance to relive the magic of this well-received movie.

Directed and written by S Saravanan, "Journey" features a talented cast including Ananya, Jai, Anjali, and others in pivotal roles. Behind the Movie Journey: Film maker AR Murugadoss known for good taste has come up with this venture in Tamil as ‘Engeyum Eppodum,’ directed by Saravanan. Enjoying the super duper success, now the same is dubbed in Telugu as ‘Journey’ brought to us by Kondeti Suresh. Let us see, where this ‘Journey’ has led us to?

In the Movie Journey: Two buses, one a Private and other a Government bus coming in opposite directions traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and Vijaywada to Hyderabad crash each other at Suryapet leading to several deaths. Story unfolds here in the form of flashback with two of the love couples present in these buses.

First is, Amrutha (Ananya) completed her Engineering has come to Hyderabad in search of a job. In an unfortunate situation, she takes help of Gautham (Sharwanand) to reach the interview location traveling in RTC buses and sharing autos. Later on, Amrutha lives city but her memories with Gautham turn into true love and vice versa. While Gautham lives to Vijayawada to meet Amrutha, at the same time Amrutha starts to Hyderabad. As both their attempts go in vain, a disappointed Amrutha boards the bus back to Vijayawada and Gautham takes the bus back to Hyderabad.

Second is the love story of innocent, soft spoken ITI guy Krishna (Jai) working in a machinery work shop in Vijayawada is in love with out spoken and practical nurse Madhumati (Anjali). After some really interesting incidents, Krishna wanted Madhumati to meet his parents in Munaguru near Suryapet. Accordingly they board the same bus which Gautham takes from Vijaywada. Then are these two buses facing a mishap near Suryapet. How did love stories of these two couples end forms the heart touching climax.

Values of the Movie Journey:  Main strength of this film lies in scripting, characterization and emotional story telling with crude dose of reality. Saravanan is a winner all the way for visualizing such a story which has the message but not at all preaching oriented. He has the guts and goods are delivered. Cinematography of Velraj is one of the best works ever seen in recent times with camera angles are to just leave you astonished. Well supported is the background score of Sathya that makes you feel like a passenger in this terrific journey. Although makers have tried to inculcate some sort of Telugu nativity yet the Aravam smell remained in tact. Editing by Kishore Te is also appreciative. Hats off to Suresh Kondeti for giving this kind of flick to Telugu audience.

Performance wise, Sharwanand is suave, well suited to his character. Ananya is cute and bubbly with innocent looks. Jai has become a scene stealer as story proceeded on. Anjali has the charm and is very confident. Of the remaining star cast none can be remembered. 

Out of the Movie Journey: Everyday we hear of numerous accidents happening on Highways due to over speed or various other reasons. We feel pity for the death count but never realize the plight of those who are bereaved. Saravanan focused exactly on this aspect of bringing emotions out of many co-passengers in this journey, who have no connection even with main story.  Saravanan speaks of Organ Donation, Responsibilities of Citizens, Heart to Serve the Needful and many more without boring you. Even though there are some weak narrative moments that brought some sort of lag in second half yet ‘Journey’ haunts you even after completion of the film.

First of all, last half an hour of the film with mind blowing camera work catching the mishap episode is a compulsory watch for everyone. Intelligence of director is felt every time he swayed between present and flashback without disturbing the mood of audience. Such is the mark of quality which is much more enhanced by performances from lead star cast. 

Forget the first and second half…both are best in their own ways yet commercial successes of this genre of films is always doubtful due to lacking of universal appealing elements. For research oriented cinema lovers, ‘Journey’ will be definitely a memorable experience. All those who have habit of making journeys in buses, this flick will pinch you.

Actor Mohammed Elshehri belongs to a generation of emerging Saudi talents who first cut their teeth on YouTube and are now making their names in film and TV.

The rising star will be master of ceremonies at the upcoming Saudi Film Festival in the Eastern Province city of Dhahran, which will be celebrating its 10th edition from from May 2 to 9.

Elshehri’s master of ceremonies role takes him back an earlier time in his career, as a TV and event presenter.

This work grew out of YouTube show Trailer , which he created around 2014, after coming to the conclusion he would never achieve his dream of becoming an actor on mainstream TV. “I felt there was no chance I was ever going to get a role as an unknown,” he recounts. “I decided to stop being an actor and to do something around it instead. It was kind of Jimmy Kimmel style. It wasn’t criticism, it was more recommendations with a light, funny tone. I did three seasons.”

The second season caught Netflix’s eye and they started working with Elshehri to promote their shows in the region, even inviting him to the set of Spanish crime thriller Money Heist .

This work came to an abrupt end with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, but Elshehri says he was not too disheartened as he already wanted to move on.

“I saw it as a sign that it was time for me to stop,” he says.

Shortly after, he secured a supporting role in The Fates Hotel , an original series created for MBC platform Shahid.

The hit crime drama revolved around the illicit goings-on in a dilapidated hotel located on the outskirts of the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.

“It was good for me because it showed people that I was an actor and not just a host,” he says.

Within a year, he had been approached for roles in Khalid Fahad’s 2022 feature Valley Road and Road Trip , which was developed to run in a primetime slot over the Ramadan religious period.

“Everyone in the Arab region is watching TV when they break their fast. It wasn’t easy as an unknown actor,” he says.

“It’s a different experience from being on a show on a platform… On public TV, everyone watches and if they don’t like it, they’ll say it on the social networks… shows come under attack. But we felt we had something and with second season it went boom.”

Elshehri suggests the show’s success is due in part to the fact that Saudi audiences identify closely with the three fraternal protagonists.

“When I’m walking in the street. People come up to me all the time and say my character reminds them of cousin or a brother,” he says.

With the third season over with the end of Ramadan, Elshehri has yet to learn whether a fourth season will be greenlit. He suggests it is a format has more mileage in it yet.

In the meantime, he is in throes of negotiating a new role in a Saudi feature that is due to shoot in September.

Ahead of his Saudi Film Festival appeareance, he says it is a must-attend event for people in the burgeoning local film industry.

“We love this festival. It’s where we meet our family. The director Ahmed Amulla is one of a kind. He’s so humble. He is trying to help everyone. I know so many talented people who have found themselves at this festival.”

Local News | Retired NASA astronaut visits Orange, recounts his journey from farm fields to outer space

A source of many life-affirming benefits, a quality education can inspire students to succeed, providing them with a clear sense of purpose. As German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once said: “If you give a man a ‘why,’ he’ll always figure out a ‘how.’ ”

One starry night in 1972, 10-year-old José Hernández found his “why.” And all he had to do was gaze toward the heavens.

Throughout his childhood, young José traveled with his migrant farm-worker family throughout Central California, performing backbreaking labor. However, through decades of hard work, focus and persistence, the dirt-poor farm laborer became a space traveler. Today, retired NASA astronaut José Hernández ’s main purpose in life is simple: “To inspire, to help people reach their maximum potential in whatever they do.”

Jose Hernández’s visit to Santiago Canyon College on March 27 included a screening of “A Million Miles Away,” the feature film based on Hernández ’s life, as well as his evening talk about his journey from the farm fields into outer space.

Hernández ’s visit to Santiago Canyon College on March 27, presented by SCC’s STEM Success Team and its College Assistance Migrant Program, included a screening of “A Million Miles Away,” the feature film based on Hernández ’s life, as well as his evening talk about his journey from the farm fields into outer space.

Along with his stargazing, Hernández was originally inspired by his love of “Star Trek” and his fascination with NASA’s 1972 Apollo 17 lunar mission. However, twinkling stars, Captain Kirk and moon milestones could take a poor farm worker only so far. Reaching his lofty goal was a daunting task. “I didn’t do this alone,” Hernández continually emphasized. “It involved a lot of people. … My mother taught (my siblings and me) good work ethics and study habits, and my father made us realize that school was a priority. He’d often gesture to the fields and say, ‘This is your future unless you get an education.””

His father, Salvador, also provided the Hernández children with his five-step “recipe to success”: “Define your purpose in life,” José Hernández related. “Recognize how far you are from that purpose. Draw yourself a road map from where you are to where you want to go. Prepare yourself according to the challenge. And develop a work ethic that’s second to none.”

Hernández earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of the Pacific and later garnered a master’s in signals and systems engineering from UC Santa Barbara. Hernández worked for 15 years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, starting in 1987. During his tenure there, he helped develop the X-ray laser technology used in President Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative, nicknamed “Star Wars.” He and a colleague later applied this technology for use in the early detection of breast cancer, which has saved many lives.

“That is my proudest professional moment,” Hernández said of the digital mammography technology. “It’s a greater accomplishment than even going into space.”

Going into space, however, remained an elusive dream. Hernández applied to NASA’s Astronaut Candidate program on 11 occasions — and was rejected each time — before he was finally accepted in May 2004. “The 12th time was a charm,” he quipped.

This persistence points to his own sixth “ingredient,” added to his father’s five-step recipe to success: “Persevere. Never give up on yourself.”

Again emphasizing how his success wasn’t a solo effort, Hernández explained how one day he crumpled up his sixth NASA rejection letter and tossed it toward a wastebasket. “My wife found the crumpled letter, because I missed the garbage can, and she encouraged me to persist,” Hernández said.

Had the tossed rejection letter made it into the wastebasket, he said, “She would’ve thrown the letter out, and I would’ve given up. … My wife was critical. She was a cheerleader throughout the whole process.”

After years of rigorous training, Hernández’s lifelong dream was realized on Aug. 28, 2009, when he and his STS-128 crewmates aboard Space Shuttle Discovery blasted into orbit and docked with the International Space Station.

Blasted, indeed. “We went from zero to 17,500 miles per hour in 8½ minutes,” Hernández told his Santiago Canyon College audience. Over the course of 14 days, he and his NASA compatriots transferred 7 tons of new equipment to the ISS and orbited Earth 217 times, traveling more than 5.7 million miles.

Although he retired from NASA in January 2011, Hernández is anything but the retiring type. He noted that, in addition to being a governor-appointed member of the University of California Board of Regents, he’s the founder and CEO of Tierra Luna Engineering, author of three books — including his 2012 memoir, “Reaching for the Stars” —  and owner of Tierra Luna Cellars vineyard and winery. And, as hundreds at his SCC visit last month will attest, he’s also a supremely effective motivational speaker.

“It’s OK to dream big,” Hernández stressed to the audience as he wrapped up his talk. “With education and hard work, you can reach the stars. I’m living proof of that.”
