Visiting a capital city is a special opportunity and Ottawa is no exception. I chose Lady Dive Tours, an operator with standard and amphibious tour packages among others, to get my visit started. In about 90 minutes, the tour shuttled me past some of the city's relevant historic, cultural and government sights including through the adjoining town of Gatineau just across the Ottawa River in the province of Quebec. My tour guide was skilled in her presentation of local sights and their history. She had an amicable style with a pleasant voice and kept things light-hearted. Given the bilingual nature of this capital region and its environs, she provided fluent narration in English and French. The most common European languages are also available via headset. The bus driver safely managed the big bus through congested streets. I chose a 90-minute round-trip tour ticket for $25.25 CAD (does not include tax) per adult without the hop-off option. The all-day hop on, hop off ticket runs $34 CAD (does not include tax). The double-decker open-top bus was clean and provided great views. The brochure advertises 14 hop-on, hop-off sightseeing stops. The ticket office is centrally located and slightly kitty-corner from Parliament Hill. Public restrooms are located at the Capital Information Kiosk about a five-minute walk from the bus departure. Restaurants are nearby and plentiful. I parked my vehicle for $10 at an all-day lot where St. Patrick and Murray streets merge across from the National Gallery of Canada with an easy walk to the Lady Dive ticket office.

Ridiculous. We couldn't find parking. We ask to change our reservation for two kids and two adults from 12 to 1:30 pm because of the issue. My husband dropped us off at 11:45 am to at least check in and wait in line. And he was driving around and around. No luck. The lady said sure there are 6 spaces left. She'll have the man in charge change us. Then he said no. It's booked. I said she said it's available. He said no. He said you can do the double decker or nothing. We lose our money. We had no choice to avoid wasting all of the money and go without him. Very rude and disappointing. And not as fun with our family separated. I've been on better tours in other major cities also. The tour guide was speaking so fast and explaining various buildings. Impressively switched between French and English. The bus goes too fast to get any decent pictures. The best part is going in the water. The experience was overall not worth the cost and rudeness of the man who refused to change our reservation yet there was space. I say skip this tourist trap and experience Ottawa on foot. This was a drive around and not informative. The tour guide pointed out building but didn't share any interesting or unique facts about the buildings or Ottawa.

The Lady Dive kiosk also sells tickets for the Hop on Hop off bus which is different from the Grayline bus. The Grayline bus is red while the one we took was green. Anyway the tour includes multiple stops. Hubby & I got off the bus & went through the Canadian war museum. We were hoping to see the RCMP stables but they were closed. I wish they had informed us of that when we got on the bus. We were disappointed the stables were closed. After that we got off the bus at Notre Dame Basilica (which is stunning. Read my review for more details & photos). Then our last stop of the day was Byward market. We plan on continuing to use the bus tomorrow as we caught it late in the afternoon today. The driver & tour guides were nice, friendly & knowledgable. I enjoyed this tour & it's a great way to get the lay of the land so to speak.

We were visiting the city for the first time. And this bus tour through the city gives you a very good idea of the history of the city. But most importantly it helps you so much to get an overview of the city. This way you can decide easily what you want to visit on your own. Can only recommend for everyone being the first time here staying longer than a day.

Definitely worth doing for a quick one hour tour. Our tour guides Keith and Felix were great-funny guys! They go over names, history and fun facts.

This ride is not wheelchair accessible even though when they sell the tickets they told us it was.

Not my first time in Ottawa, but thought this would be fun. And it was! Check out their packages as there is good value when you bundle their services. A-la-carte is expensive but I think it was still worth it. Paid $35 for a 90-minute double-decker bus tour in and around Ottawa. This was the hop-on hop-off tour. Note that when you hop off, the next bus comes about every hour. The bus was comfortable enough, but definitely try and get a seat up top for a better view. The tour guide was good and a bit funny and provided both English and French commentary. We got to see and hear about most of the major sites and attractions around the city. Time was limited for me so did not get off the bus this time around, but it takes you to all the museums and places of significance so if you want to check them out you can. They also offer a land/water tour with a bus that can swim! We wanted to do this but it was booked up so make sure you reserve a spot to do this. Mind you, we tried by calling a leaving a message but never got a call back :( so that was a bit annoying. Something for next time I guess! Have fun

We thoroughly enjoyed this amphibious tour. It is a quick overview of the city's history and important buildings. The staff was excellent. My mother uses a walker and they help her both on and off the bus. We did not do the double decker bus. If you take the 12:40 tour on a weekend you can access free parking at the world exchange center, catch the changing of the guard at Parliament Hill and the War Memorial prior to your tour.

Good tour--just what we expected. Lots of sights packed into an hour. Bruno, our guide, was entertaining. Loved the amphibus trip into the river--beautiful sights from there!

Good tour in this lady dive . We really enjoyed the 45 min .. we recommend this tour, don't forget to combine with hop on / off bus all day and get 50% off on lady dive ...

Lady Dive started their Ottawa-Gatineau city tours in 1999 with it's very popular and unique Amphibus vehicle. An Amphi-bus is a vehicle that can travel on both land and water. These unique tours offer a blend of land and water experiences, taking visitors on a journey through the city's major landmarks and attractions.

In 2002 purchased Oak Road and their Double Decker buses. In 2009 they purchased Bytown Trolley and Canuck walking tours. They visit common sites such as museums, parks, galleries and the Byward Market. It is a great way to see Ottawa for the first time as there are so many waterways throughout the city that give visitors an entirely new perspective.

Lady Dive Tours is the one stop destination in Ottawa for all kind of tours.

Note: No food or drinks allowed on the bus so be sure to have your snack before you board.

Being a tourist in your own city is a fun way to enjoy a city you already love, and find more reasons to say it's one of the best.

There's no shortage of fun things to do during the summer in Ottawa. Of course, you can take the time to do all the regular summer activities like hiking, hitting up the beach and having barbecues — or you could explore your city in a whole new way instead.

With tourists still at a minimum, now is the perfect time to see as much of the city as you can. You could grab lunch at the ByWard Market, take in all the beautiful views at Parliament Hill, visit the Canadian Museum of History (finally), and then relax by the Ottawa River. If you want to do all these things, you can sign up for the Lady Dive's Amphibus Tour .

The Amphibus Tour isn't like any regular bus tour — it takes you around the city on both land and water and is the only one of its kind in the province. Over the course of one hour, this head-turning amphibious bus (Amphibus, get it?) will take you to some of the most important and picturesque sites along the Ottawa River.

You'll pass must-see sights like the Canadian War Museum, the Prime Minister's residence, Rideau Hall, the Royal Canadian Mint, the National Gallery of Canada, and, of course, Parliament Hill while knowledgeable guides share information about the city in both English and French.

If you like city tours but prefer to stay on land, there's the option of going with the Double Decker Round Bus Tour . It's perfect for anyone who wants to learn as much as they can about the National Capital Region while taking in the lush scenery and fascinating historical sites.

As the only double-decker bus tour in the city, the 90-minute trip takes you past some of the most interesting sightseeing spots in Ottawa and Gatineau, and you can hop on and off the bus at 14 different stops around the city.

The tours run every hour and include an entertaining and bilingual tour guide. Audio is also available in German, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese (with Ukrainian on the way). The tickets range from $17.75 to $26.75 per person, and tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.
