While you might just think of Tripadvisor as the place to get honest reviews about hotels, restaurants, or things to do, it’s actually so much more than that.

First, Tripadvisor acts as a metasearch  engine , showing you prices for hotels, flights, and rental cars on lots of other websites. You can click through Tripadvisor to the other site to complete a booking.

Second, in recent years, they’ve added a social aspect to the site. You can follow other accounts, and you have a home page feed that’s similar to what you see on Facebook.

Finally, Tripadvisor has its own travel forum for you to ask and answer questions about all things travel.

Let’s take a look at everything Tripadvisor offers and how it can help you plan and book your next vacation.

What Tripadvisor Offers

If you decide to book a cruise via Tripadvisor, don’t forget to print our ultimate cruise packing list so you’re prepared for your adventure!

Tripadvisor Reviews

Tripadvisor reviews are the backbone of the website. If you’ve ever booked a hotel, you’ve likely checked out a Tripadvisor review.

The beauty of its reviews is that they are from real people who have stayed at the hotel you’re researching. Glossy, professional photos can make anyplace look fantastic, but with Tripadvisor, you get to see authentic, unedited photos from real travelers. It’s true, you’ll have to sort through some terrible, blurry pictures, but you’ll get a good sense of what the hotel is really like.

In addition to hotel reviews, you can find reviews for activities, restaurants, vacation rentals, and even cruises.

Many reviews will give you a sense of the customer service a hotel offers. Although this is a great thing, it also gives a platform to disgruntled customers who want to bash a location. These are pretty easy to spot, so take them with a grain of salt.

If you’re searching for a specific question about a hotel, you can use the search function. Tripadvisor will offer suggestions of keywords to search for or you can input the specific piece of information you’re looking for. You’ll then see any reviews that mention that keyword. Next time you’re searching for a hotel, check the reviews for keywords like “heated pool,” “room service,” or “restaurants.”

Tripadvisor review

If you’d like to search for reviews that are more specific to your circumstances, you can easily filter the reviews by traveler type (families, couples, solo, business, or friends), time of year, and language.

Tripadvisor review detail

In addition to reading written reviews, you can scroll through pictures that people have posted. You can tell a lot about a property just by doing this versus looking at the beautiful photos posted by the hotel. Those are beautiful to look at, but if you want to see what the hotel is really like, scroll through the traveler photos. To find these, just click on Traveler Photos in the upper right-hand corner of the hotel’s review page.

Tripadvisor traveler photo

Hot Tip: You can get a wealth of information about a hotel, restaurant, activity, cruise, or vacation rental from Tripadvisor reviews. You can search the written reviews for specifics like, “Is there a heated pool?” or check out the traveler photos for an unedited look at the property.

Tripadvisor Forum

The Tripadvisor travel forums are a great resource for anyone planning a trip.

From the Tripadvisor home page, click on Travel Forums in the top toolbar.

Tripadvisor Travel Forum

If you’ve already selected your destination, you’ll click on the 3 dots in the search bar at the top of the screen, then click on Travel Forum .

If you access the travel forum through the home page, you’ll need to select a destination to search for. If you searched for a destination first and then accessed the travel forum, you’ll be automatically be taken to the forum for that destination.

There are general forums for states or countries and more specific city-oriented forums. You can easily move back and forth between all of these forums by clicking on the links within the forum.

Tripadvisor Hawaii Travel Forum

One of the great things about Tripadvisor forums is that you can get really specific. This is a great place to search for answers that would be otherwise hard to find. The forums are filled with local experts (other Tripadvisor users who answer lots of forum questions and leave lots of reviews) to help you out. Try asking questions like: “What bar in Miami Beach shows the NBA Playoffs?” “What restaurants in Charlotte are dog-friendly?” or “What’s the best way to get to the zoo in San Diego?” If you have a specific question, the Tripadvisor forum is the place to ask it.

If you have a question that you think might be common, check out the list of top questions to the right side of the forums. Click on a link to take you to a previous thread about your question. Pay attention to the dates, though. Some of the threads may be outdated — so you may want to ask a new question for updated information.

Get Social With Tripadvisor

You may have noticed that the Tripadvisor home page has some social aspects to it now. You’ll see a main feed with the ability to like, repost, and share a post. You’ll see a list of suggested people to follow to the right.

To take part in the social aspect of Tripadvisor , you’ll need to create a free account. You’ll be able to create an account via Facebook, Google, or an email address. Click on Sign in in the upper right-hand corner to get started.

Create Tripadvisor QR Codes to Get More Reviews

What is a tripadvisor qr code.

A Tripadvisor QR Code converts the URL for a Tripadvisor review form into a scannable, shareable QR Code. When customers or travelers scan the QR code, they are instantly directed to the review form of a specific business or service so that they can leave feedback.

If you’re looking to level up your business with Tripadvisor ratings, or if you would just like more insights into how customers and guests feel about their meal, stay, or tour, a Tripadvisor QR Code could be a good place to start. An efficient and effective way of gathering reviews, using a QR Code for a Tripadvisor review can help you bolster your ratings on the platform.

With just a quick scan of the code, customers and guests will be automatically directed to where they can leave feedback. A QR Code for reviews makes it easier for them to tell others about their experiences, even while they’re on the go.

If you’re wondering what is a QR Code used for , then look no further than the hospitality industry. QR Codes have been a real savior during the pandemic, delivering everything from a QR code ordering system in restaurants to helping hotels cope with contactless solutions for guests. Tripadvisor reviews can help get businesses back on the map — and a QR Code for a Tripadvisor review can equally play a part.

Our Tripadvisor QR Code generator works in three easy steps:

  • On your Tripadvisor profile, select “write a review.”
  • Copy the URL from the “write a review” page and paste it into QR Code Generator.
  • Download and print your Tripadvisor QR Code and display it for your customers or guests to see!

Why should I create a Tripadvisor QR Code with QR Code Generator?

Tripadvisor conducted a study to understand the importance of reviews on their platform. They found that:

  • 87% of travelers say that reading Tripadvisor reviews is very important or fairly important.
  • 89% of travelers listed Tripadvisor reviews as the most important factor when choosing an experience.
  • 80% of travelers read up to ten reviews for each experience.
  • 78% of travelers are more likely to book an experience with one or two bad reviews than one with no reviews.
  • 78% of travelers focus on recent reviews to get the freshest perspective.

In other words, Tripadvisor reviews matter — a lot. Getting as many reviews as possible will do more than give potential customers or guests an overview of your business before they visit — it may help boost your listing on Tripadvisor itself. Luckily, a Tripadvisor QR Code could be the solution you need to encourage your guests and customers to leave a review on the platform and tell others about their experiences.

We list the top reasons why collecting Tripadvisor QR Code reviews might be your next best move.

1. It streamlines your Tripadvisor review collection process

A simple but sleek QR code streamlines the whole review process for your customers or guests. By scanning the code with their phones, they can connect with the Tripadvisor page directly, without the need to search for your business online or type in a URL. Of course, there are many creative ways to include a Tripadvisor QR Code on your printed materials, including posters, menus, and business cards, to name a few.

2. You can use it to get more views on your Tripadvisor business page

Of course, there are more uses for a Tripadvisor QR Code than just encouraging guests and customers to leave a review. Would you rather people view your business page than leave a review? There’s a simple solution for that. When creating your Tripadvisor QR Code, copy and paste the URL for your business page into QR Code Generator instead.

3. It’s ideal for print mediums

Tripadvisor QR Codes are scalable to whatever size your design needs, whether that’s to fit on something as small as QR Code stickers or as large as a QR Code billboard ad. No matter the print medium you would like to use to communicate with your customers, a Tripadvisor QR Code can be tailored to suit your brand or business.

4. Snappy and sweet: use short URLs with a Dynamic URL QR Code

When maximizing the potential of your Tripadvisor QR Code, there are a few tricks you can use. One is the Dynamic URL QR Code , which turns your link into a QR Code short URL : a simpler, quicker, easier-to-remember version of your URL. On its website, Tripadvisor does not offer its users the option to shorten the URLs for its different reviews and business pages. However, a Dynamic URL QR Code does. Consider the difference between the two examples below.

First, the full-length Tripadvisor review link for the Hotel Riu in Times Square, New York City:

Second, the short URL that is automatically generated with a Dynamic URL QR Code:

The difference between the two types of URLs is huge. The full-length version of the link is not so intuitive for guests or customers and looks a little untidy. However, the short URL is cleaner and easier to incorporate into your designs or marketing campaigns.

5. You can customize your QR Code to your brand

An added bonus of using the Dynamic URL QR Code is the array of customization options at your disposal. This includes a custom frame with an editable call-to-action (CTA) like “Scan to Review,” various edge and pixel styles, colors, and the option to add your logo in the middle.

6. Get access to real-time tracking and editing with a Dynamic QR Code

Using a Dynamic URL QR Code gives you access to QR Code tracking , plus the option to edit the link you used for your QR Code. Why is this beneficial? Tracking gives you insights into how your QR Code is used. For example, if you used your Tripadvisor QR Code on different printed materials — posters and receipts — you’ll be able to see which medium was more effective at gathering reviews and learn more about where and when your customers were more likely to leave a review.

The option to edit your link gives you much more flexibility. Regardless of whether you need to correct a mistake or would like to change your link entirely, a Dynamic URL QR Code allows you to adjust to the needs of your business.

How to create a Tripadvisor QR Code for reviews:

Wondering how to get a tripadvisor qr code? You have two types of QR Codes to choose from.

One option is the free-to-use Static QR Code, which is forever scannable but limited in its functionality. Next up is the Dynamic QR Code, which allows tracking and editing. When using a Dynamic QR Code, your first 14 days are on us — after that, you’ll need to upgrade your subscription to keep it active.

Whichever code you choose, it can be created in a few easy steps:

  • Go to your Tripadvisor business listing and click on the section that says “Write a review.”
  • Select the URL tab in the generator above and copy and paste this exact Tripadvisor profile review form link into the box.
  • If you would like to create a trackable QR Code, please sign up to create a Dynamic URL QR Code instead.
  • Your QR Code will then be generated automatically. Do a scan test to see if it’s working correctly.
  • Customize your QR Code with a frame and color.
  • Download the QR Code and add it to the design of your choice. Pro tip: make sure your customized details work with your design — scan and test your QR Code before printing it.
  • Print and display your QR Code for customers or guests to see — now, you’re all set!

Create, manage, and track all your QR Codes .

Design beautiful QR Codes your way. Add your own color, logo, and frame.

Can I see how a Tripadvisor QR Code is used?

Now you know how to get a Tripadvisor QR Code, you’ll be eager to put it to good use.

We have compiled a few industry-specific examples of how you can use Tripadvisor QR Code to streamline your review collection process and get more views on your business listing.

1. Restaurants

Online reviews are crucial for the restaurant industry. For restaurateurs, Tripadvisor’s ratings can be an important factor in attracting new clientele — and a restaurant QR Code is a nifty way to incentivize customers.

If you're a restaurant owner, there are a few ways you can use your Tripadvisor QR Code to drum up new reviews. Adding your QR Code on table tents may encourage happy customers to leave a review after finishing their meal when the experience is fresh in their minds. Or how about adding it to your receipts? It’ll give your customers the freedom to write a review later, at a time that suits them.

Tripadvisor holds sway over the whole spectrum of the tourism industry, tour operators included.

Encourage your customers to write about their experiences, by using a QR Code for travel . A banner QR Code, used to mark both the starting and endpoints of a tour, or business cards featuring a QR Code for a Tripadvisor review form can incentivize satisfied travelers to leave feedback.

3. Hotels & Resorts

For hoteliers, Tripadvisor reviews can be a deal-breaker. Many savvy travelers research their accommodation before they book and often give thought to Tripadvisor reviews based on other guests’ experiences. Give your guests every opportunity to spread the word about their stay at your hotel by using a hotel QR Code : incorporate a QR Code for a Tripadvisor review form on displays at reception, or design a similar QR Code brochure for their arrival in their room.

4. Museums & Galleries

After booking a comfortable hotel and finding a restaurant to try some authentic local cuisine, what comes next on an eager tourist’s checklist? The sights, of course! Museums and galleries are often must-see visits on itineraries — and with QR Codes for museums at your disposal, there’s no reason why your institution should miss out.

One example is by placing a digital QR Code on a sign by the exit. You can use your Tripadvisor QR Code to encourage visitors to leave a review and tell other travelers about their experiences.

5. Cities & Cultures

Whether steeped in culture and history or dotted with examples of striking architecture, towns and cities often have a story to tell.

To make the most of your city’s unique features and heritage, a city QR Code can help you leverage Tripadvisor to draw attention to overlooked attractions. For example, you could place QR Code poster ads aimed at tourists around a city, asking them to leave reviews.

Are there any Tripadvisor QR Code best practices?

Whether you’re a hotelier, restaurateur, or tourism industry worker dedicated to ensuring travelers the world over have an amazing experience, you’ll want to use your Tripadvisor QR Code to help you get the most from your business. With that said, there are some important tips to keep in mind when creating your QR Code.

1. Double-check that your Tripadvisor link is correct

Mistakes and errors happen to the best of us. However, the guest or customer who has just scanned a broken link might not see it that way — and it could negatively impact their impression of your business. When creating your Tripadvisor QR Code, double-check that the link that you have copy-pasted into QR Code Generator is correct. To ensure an even smoother experience, test your QR Code before you have committed to printing it.

2. Reviews vs business pages: which link do you need?

You can use your Tripadvisor QR Code to link to one of two pages: your business page or the form that customers or guests can use to leave a review. If you would like to link to your business page, great! It’s easy to visit your page and copy and paste this URL into QR Code Generator. The ‘write a review’ page is a little trickier to find, however. Scroll down your business page and hit the ‘write a review’ button — the URL for this form is the link you need to create a Tripadvisor QR Code for collecting reviews.

3. Ensure your QR Code is easy to scan

Make sure that guests and customers are able to see your Tripadvisor QR Code and that it’s positioned in a place that makes it easy to scan. Of course, you’ll also want customers to understand what it is they’re scanning! Incorporating a snappy CTA into your QR Code design will help to make it more user-friendly.

4. Consider the size of your QR Code

While it’s possible to make your QR Code almost as big as your design will allow, there are some minimum sizing requirements to keep in mind. A Static QR Code can be no smaller than 3 x 3 cm (1.2 x 1.2 in), while a Dynamic QR Code can be no smaller than 2 x 2 cm (0.8 x0.8 in). Moreover, a well-proportioned QR Code will be easier to scan — to learn more about this, check out our QR Code size guide.

5. Match your QR Code to your brand

Why should I use Tripadvisor?

Every vacationer has different priorities: for some, it’s the most authentic place to eat; for others, it’s all about that luxury hotel experience. Tripadvisor reviews provide travelers and tourists with a wealth of information, making the quest for the best restaurant in the city or the hotel with the best views easier. Whether positive or negative, these Tripadvisor reviews inform how a traveler may organize their trip. In the hospitality or tourism industry, this means that Tripadvisor’s reviews are more than a vital source of business — they’re also a way to learn more about your customers.

Why do Tripadvisor reviews matter?

In the hospitality industry, the importance of receiving and responding to online reviews has been iterated again and again . For a business owner, that’s huge! Creating a QR Code for Tripadvisor reviews gives you a huge audience of informed travelers to tap into, allowing you to use this valuable feedback about your business to your advantage. With a few clever Tripadvisor QR Code campaigns, you can encourage your customers and guests to leave more of these sought-after reviews — and in turn, show them how their custom matters to you.

I have copied the link to trip advisor and added to html emails and it should read Review Stapleton's Chantry on Trip Advisor but it actually reads <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/UserReview-g580410-d1526993-m11765-Stapleton_s_Chantry-Didcot_Oxfordshire_England.html ">Review Stapleton's Chantry on TripAdvisor</a> which is the text of the link , how do I make it do what it is supposed to do?

' class=

Do you mean that you cut and paste the page link (URL) from the browser into the body of your email message and it does not come up as a hyperlink "clickable" direct link?

I had the same problem, not one of my links would paste as "blue" or clickable. I was using Firefox.

The other day i switched to Google Chrome as my browser (incidentally i love it - thanks Noah) and every link i cut and paste now shows up as clickable and "blue".

Don't really know what else to suggest i'm afraid, but i hope that helps.

Many thanks, but I am alseady using Google Chrome, so if anyone has another suggestion that would be great!

Hi StapletonsChantry;

TA has created an owners only forum to answer questions like yours. Please post your question on that forum.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g1-i14281-Owners.html

Best Regards

My guess? You're using an HTML e-mail editor -- which creates the HTML code for you -- but you've pasted in the HTML code for the link (the <a ...> stuff) rather than using the features of the e-mail editor to create the link.

The e-mail editor should have an Insert Hyperlink command which lets you add a link to your e-mail. (Look on the menus, or in some programs it will come up when you press Ctrl+K on the keyboard.) Using this feature, just add a link to http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/UserReview-g580410-d1526993-m11765-Stapleton_s_Chantry-Didcot_Oxfordshire_England.html (it should start with http://www), and the e-mail editor should take care of the rest.

Thank you very much, I have tried this and all that is emailed is the whole text, ( http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/UserReview-g580410-d1526993-m11765-Stapleton_s_Chantry-Didcot_Oxfordshire_England.html)

not what I want sent in the emailwhich is:

Review Stapleton's Chantry on Trip Advisor

so I am obviously doing something wrong but it's better than before! thanks

Whoops, I knew those instructions sounded too easy -- I forgot that part.

Two things might work:

- Back where you went to insert the hyperlink, you may find the address (the http://www part) listed twice, one labelled "Address" or "URL" and one labelled something like "Text to Display". If you change the display text to "Review Stapleton's Chantry on TripAdvisor" but keep the address, you should get the text you want while still having it go to the right place when clicked.

- Or, you could try selecting the link in the e-mail editor, and then just type the text you want. In some e-mail editors this will keep the link but replace the text, though in others it will delete the link.

What Are TripAdvisor Reviews?

TripAdvisor reviews are comments and ratings by travelers that help others conveniently plan a trip or book a reservation. These reviews are absolutely subjective and draw a person’s viewpoint and experience with a particular location, tour, or restaurant.

Given a broadened perspective, this source of information remains the main expertise for validating any business quality and building trust. The reviews may range from one-word remarks to full-length stories that offer an in-depth look at what travelers went through and what they liked or disliked about the service.

TripAdvisor reviews are the best chance for businesses to showcase their communication skills, impress potential customers and sell more. In fact, they will work amazingly as social proof on your website!

So here we stand: how to add TripAdvisor reviews to your website ?

Elfsight has got you covered on that with the TripAdvisor Reviews widget . It doesn’t take too much time to install or any special skills. Honestly, it is somewhat simple. Check it out for yourself:

  • Create a free Elfsight account or log in to the existing one.
  • Select a TripAdvisor Reviews widget in the catalog.
  • Add the link to the needed page on the TripAdvisor website.
  • Make some customizable changes: layout, title, review style, color scheme, etc.
  • Save all the changes and receive a widget’s installation code.
  • Copy the code and embed it right into your website editor. That’s it!

Keep the audience invested in your business with this impressive solution!

Why Do You Need to Embed TripAdvisor Reviews on Your Website?

TripAdvisor is one of the most trusted sources for travel-related reviews and opinions. If you embed these reviews into your website, you will provide an additional layer in forming a sense of confidence for potential customers. Highlighting precious feedback information can reinforce positive emotional states to increase the chances of selling more.

Without further adieu, here are some of the reasons why you need to add TripAdvisor reviews on your website:

1 Reviews Benefit: Increased Website Credibility & Trustworthiness

Adding TripAdvisor reviews on your website can help you gain the trust of potential customers and earn the credibility necessary for running a successful business. When customers want to book a flight, make dinner reservations, or purchase travel tickets, they need reassurance that your business has positive reviews from other customers.

In the experiment-based study made in 2011, the researchers broadcast the evidence of enhanced trust effect because of positive reviews. To be clear: social-based information has a much more substantial impact on purchasing decisions and final judgments than a business image, sales, or warranties.

Reviews navigate through different experiences and can be seen as a game-changer for your business: create a feeling of reliability and trust that potential customers need before they are willing to convert.

2 Reviews Benefit: Improved Search Engine Visibility

In addition, the process of embedding TripAdvisor reviews into your website is set to increase your SEO efforts significantly. This is done by enticing more organic traffic since most people depend on online reviews when researching a product or service.

Placing relevant keywords in strategic places like review titles and descriptions paves the way to improve your search engine rankings and show up in more search results.

3 Reviews Benefit: Enhanced User Experience

When customers know that the provided services are up-to-the-mark and trustworthy, they are more likely to stay on the page for a long time period. Reviews can play a significant social proof phenomenon that serves as evidence of a high-quality product/service.

Additionally, embedding real-time customer feedback improves user engagement and encourages better visitor conversions.

4 Reviews Benefit: Competitive Advantage

Finally, if you decide to add TripAdvisor reviews integration, it can help you stay competitive with other businesses in the same industry. The practice of translating the feedback and all the ins and outs of your product/service leads to gaining new prospects.

TripAdvisor is one of the world’s largest travel review websites getting millions of visitors annually. This is a powerful source for consumers looking for trustworthy business reviews. It doesn’t take by surprise — businesses should be eager to tap into this massive resource and showcase their TripAdvisor reviews on their websites.

With that being said, let’s return to the original questions and unpack a few things in detail: how can you embed TripAdvisor reviews into the website without too much effort? And what are the crystal clear steps you need to take?

Businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, or travel industries— including hotels, restaurants, cruises, ticket sales, and travel agencies —can rely more heavily on TripAdvisor reviews embedded into a website. Why are reviews beneficial for them? It comes to the reason that these businesses depend on customer feedback to keep things running.

TripAdvisor ratings and reviews play a massive role in increasing customer trust. Customers are more likely to choose a restaurant, hotel, or other services if they can read honest assessments from those who have already been there and experienced the service first-hand.

Furthermore, businesses using the TripAdvisor widget can use feedback to identify and address outstanding issues quickly and efficiently. The art of paying attention to the customer’s needs and being grateful for positive reviews can create an even better customer experience in the future.

By embedding TripAdvisor reviews on their website via the Elfsight integration, business owners can gain control over what customers see when they visit their website. Not only does this make their website look more professional and inviting, but it provides customers with a reliable source of information about what the business offers.

I would like to post a link (on FB, with a QR-code and what not) to be used on mobile devices; a link that takes my customers directly to write a review of my tour company.

The link I can generate works as it should in a browser (also a mobile version), however not in the Tripadvisor app. The app asks people to search for what they want to review, and that seems like an unnecessary barrier. So if people actually have the app and choose to use that, they have more difficulty than if they choose to use their browser. I wouldn't want to explain this to them, I think it should just work without detours.

Is there a 'secret' link-formula, that works both places?

' class=

Hi AsserMunch,

If you have a business listing on TripAdvisor, there are widgets that you can use on FB for your purpose, and for your website, although I don't know if they work on a mobile site--I think they do as my own

You need to go back to this forum's home page and read the message at the very top (sticky note with a yellow pin addressed to property and business owners) and follow TripAdvisor's direction to post on the Owners' forum. Other owners on that forum may be able to help or direct you to the best way of contacting TripAdvisor with your issue.

Hi. Thanks for your answer and sorry to post in the wrong place. I tried again and hope it was better this time.

Just for the record. My question doesn't concern widgets, but regular links to the TripAdvisor review form on mobile platforms, ie webpage AND the TripAdvisor app.

How to Get More TripAdvisor Reviews (A Simple Guide)

Reviews play an instrumental role in the upkeep of a hotel’s reputation. Be it a hotel or any other business, customer feedback is of vital importance in the entire scenario. It is true that 88% of the customers trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation.

Of all the platforms that allow customer reviews is TripAdvisor.   A recent study by Comscore reveals that around 60% of the travelers consult TripAdvisor before making a reservation. Hence it is important for every hotelier to look for ways in which they can improve their ranking on TripAdvisor.

Before diving deep into how to increase reviews on TripAdvisor, it is important to get a grasp of what constitutes the metrics for increasing the popularity ranking on TripAdvisor. As per the information gathered from TripAdvisor management centre, these are:

○ Quality of reviews ○ Quantity of reviews ○ Recency or topicality of reviews.

With the reviews being a major determinant in all three cases, it is imperative to look for ways in which a hotel or business can increase its reviews on TripAdvisor, especially after they have registered themselves on TripAdvisor.

To help you achieve this goal, we have simplified things in this framework:

link to trip advisor

That being said, here are a few highly proven steps under each of these categories that will help you get more TripAdvisor Reviews:

link to trip advisor

1. Provide a Great Guest Experience

Nothing can beat the exquisite experience that you can provide to your guests during every touchpoint in the customer mapping journey. These touchpoints include the pre-arrival, mid-stay/during the stay and check-out/post check out experiences where you can check on your guests to see how they are doing or is there anything they need at the moment which will allow you to make their stay even better. Guests will surely remember that and this, in turn, will help generate more reviews. ‍

• Add Delights along the wayThough an indirect way of asking the guests for their feedback, delights along the way like greeting the customers and presenting a complimentary drink to them on their arrival, by offering a warm cookie or water bottle upon check-in or by providing them a special experience on their big day or any other occasion in their life will surely make a difference as it is always about creating an experience, however small it may seem. Guests remember the special things you do for them and this, in turn, might just encourage them to leave you a review on TripAdvisor. ‍

• Make good use of your Guest Messaging tool

Text messaging plays an important role at every touchpoint for the seamless guest experience. Especially, a text message post-check-out will not only make the customer happy but at the same time, will remind them about reviewing their experience with you. For the best results, it is better to send this message right away and even a few days after the checkout.

• Leave a ‘personal note’ to the guestsAnything that has a personal touch to it is loved by all. A personal note welcoming your guests or bidding them goodbye will be highly appreciated. Make sure that you include the reminder for sharing feedback at the end of this note to encourage the guests to share their experience with you. ‍

• Compile a ‘Welcome Pack’ for the guestsAnother way in making the review writing process easier for the guests is to present a booklet or brochure to them on their arrival which gives out all the details about your property including the facilities, timings for using them, explains the house rules and offers tips about local restaurants and attractions. But remember to make it short and sweet as guests would not have the leisure time to go through it all. Make sure you also include the review link or review process which makes it easier for them and reminds them to share their feedback.

link to trip advisor

2. Ask For Feedback

Though it qualifies as one of the most conventional or traditional methods of getting reviews, ‘asking’ can still never go out of fashion. The best way to get customer feedback is by asking for it. Look for the ways in which you can very strategically ask for customer’s feedback: it can be through text messaging, e-mails or even in person by making your staff your mouthpiece which will help you approach the customers directly for their feedback. But avoid being coming across as too clingy and make sure that you keep adding“delights” along the way ( more on this later) for encouraging the guests to leave you a review on TripAdvisor, out of the highly elated experience that they’ve had during their stay.

Again, there are various ways of asking feedback from the customers:

• Let your staff do the honors by asking the guests in person about their experience as well as for the feedback With adequate staff training, you can always ask your staff to participate in the process of asking for more reviews and feedback from the customers. Allow them to do it courteously and with a smile on their face. This might be one of the traditional ways of asking customer feedback, but again, this hasn’t really gone out of fashion. ‍

• Ask feedback through text messages or follow-up emails. One of the best ways to ask for feedback is through guest messaging where you are able to communicate with your guests easily, again at every touchpoint to know their requirements better. Even a short text message will help remind the guests for reviews and it would be easier in redirecting them to the review interface to pour in their feedback as mobile phones are more preferable over emails.

On the other hand, even if text messaging takes precedence over emails, you can still continue to make your email game stronger by carrying it on side-by-side and sending a quick, short email asking for customer feedback to generate more reviews. Remember that in your emails:

-Sound professional -Thank the customer for choosing your property, -Let the customer know that you read and value all their feedback, -Provide a direct link for the visitors where-in they can leave a Google review.

• Asking for feedback by leaving behind a Google Review CardA review card is more of a marketing collateral that will act as a reminder to your customers that they are to review you on TripAdvisor. During check-out, you can very courteously present a review card to them which should have the follow-up indicators: your contact details and the link or reminder to TripAdvisor Review Platform. Again, we are not really recommending this as a 100% effective way of gathering reviews on TripAdvisor as sometimes the customers might choose to ignore it or forget to get back to it later on. But you can still include it as a part of your review-generation campaign. ‍

• Asking by adding a review link to your websiteAnother way of generating more reviews on TripAdvisor is by leaving a review link on your hotel website clicking on which might lead to a box pop-up, giving out an easy way in which they can leave you a review. ‍

• Provide visual reminders to the guestsThe biggest problem with most of the guests is that even when they are interested in leaving a review, they keep it on hold and forget about getting back to it later on due to other preoccupations. Hence, the task is to make the process easier for guests by leaving visual reminders like flyers or posters here and there, reminding the guests to post a review.

link to trip advisor

3. Make the Review Process Easier For Guests

One of the things about TripAdvisor is that even the non-verified users can leave a review on it. You can redirect all your guests and invite them to review the facility directly on TripAdvisor, even if they do not have an account. Basically, anyone can click on the link to provide their review here. Hence, keeping this in mind, it is required to send a link that will redirect your guests to the actual interface or page where-in they need to post their reviews. Again, an easy link will save time and cut the process short for guests as they wouldn’t really have to navigate too much to find the page for posting their reviews all by themselves.

‍ • Send a link that makes it easy for the guests (QR Code/NFC Tags)Some businesses use QR codes, scanning which the guests will be redirected to the page or box where they are required to post their reviews. Again, it is a quick and short process that will encourage the guests to review you. This technique is also ubiquitous as every customer today has the ability to use a phone and this, in turn, can assist them in scanning the QR codes which you can just get printed on your promotional material, receipts or any other location that a user can see. ‍

• Opt for an automated solution which can aid you in review generation, via email and SMS

An effective and technology-driven end-to-end solution like Instant Review invite or Guest Messaging will be the most effective in helping you with your reputation management which, in turn, will help you increase your Google Reviews. Again, a review generation tool will help streamline the entire review process. It is also one of the most effective means of a reminder to the guests and also presents them with an easy process of review-writing where they just have to click and leave their review. In short, an easy, time-saving and simple technique of review-writing.

Additional Tips

• Timely respond to the reviews on TripAdvisor as this can also encourage the guests to leave you a review by conveying the message that you consider their feedback valuable and care to respond to each of them.

• Promote your TripAdvisor page by publicizing it at every touchpoint, whether it be on your menus, flyers, receipts or anywhere else, reminding the customers that reviews are important. You can also hang your TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence at the place where it easily meets the eye of the onlooker.

• Handle the negative reviews pretty well by deploying a personal yet professional tone in curating your response which acts as a great indicator of your reputation as a hotel or business.

• Make sure that you also include the TripAdvisor review link in your hotel’s email signature.

• Register on the TripAdvisor page and completely fill out your business details.

• Avoid Buying Fake Reviews, as this is against TripAdvisor’s policy and it will harm your property’s image.• Finally, provide a review-worthy service to your customers which is the real prerequisite for the ultimate review generation on TripAdvisor.

Following the above steps with diligence and dedication will surely work wonders and aid in increasing TripAdvisor reviews for your hotel or business. Obviously, you can also opt for an automated solution or review generation wizard to strengthen the process even further.

Using a common calendar format (.ics), you can keep all your calendars updated and synchronized. You can synchronize your TripAdvisor calendar with HomeAway, Google, Airbnb, Yahoo!, and any other calendar that uses .ics format.   Please note: Calendar sync marks dates in your TripAdvisor Rentals calendar as unavailable if they’re unavailable on another site. It will never cancel an existing booking on our platform, or change any reserved dates to available.   Importing your calendar   Keep your calendar up to date and monitor your availability by importing the calendar data from other calendars. HomeAway, Airbnb and other calendars:

  • In the Calendar tab, select Import
  • Paste the web link of this calendar (e.g. https://airbnb/calendar/ical/… )
  • Name the imported calendar and select Save
  • Choose Google
  • Select Sign in to Google and authorize TripAdvisor to access Google calendar data
  • After you are redirected to your Owner Center, choose from the list of available Google calendars and select Import
  • Select Export calendar to view your iCalendar link.
  • Copy and paste this link into your calendar application (e.g. Google, Airbnb or HomeAway).
  • Ensure that you’re using the correct URL that returns a file in iCal format. This is a special URL you can obtain from the provider you’d like to connect with.
  • Contact your external provider to review the provided URL to ensure that this was generated correctly.
  • Ensure that you’re using the correct URL for the correct property. Note: you are unable to use the same link twice.
  • If you continue to experiencing issues connecting your calendars, please contact our customer support team.

Note: If the ICal you wish to enter is not provided by a larger platform, but, for example, an ICal from your personal website , we may not have the used provider on our calendar whitelist, and you won’t be able to add it yourself.

  • Select Edit and the title of the calendar you wish to remove .
  • Click Delete

Hello, is there a train link from DM airport to Suvarnabhumi airport?

7 replies to this topic

link to trip advisor

No there is no train link you need to use the free shuttle bus

Can you not find a post office where you are

Thanks Alistair, how long does the shuttle bus take? Presumably it’d be quicker for me to taxi and take toll charge?

No, there isn’t, couriers are not feasible and delivery will be faster from bangkok, otherwise I would have posted it here 😝

My wife sends 5 baht gold to south, 3 times now by Kerry Express. I think shes crazy but it works. Next day delivery.

The shuttle bus may take longer in the rush hours but on clear runs about 50 minutes with wait time for departure a matter of luck. With no wait time the bus and taxi will cover the trip in about the same time.in rush hour trip may take an hour and a half

The shuttle took us one hour.
