live tour adelaide

The 2023 LIV Golf Adelaide final leaderboard is headed by winner Talor Gooch , who earned the LIV Golf win at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia.

Gooch shot a final-round 73 to complete a rout of a win that turned out to be a three-stroke margin on 19-under 197, with Anirban Lahiri finishing in second place.

Cameron Tringale, Cam Smith , Patrick Reed and Pat Perez finished tied for third place on 15-under total.

Gooch won the $4,000,000 winner's share of the $20,000,000 purse for the individual competition.

LIV Golf Adelaide recap notes

There are no cuts in LIV Golf events, with 47 players finishing the event in the fourth completed event of the season.

In the team competition, the 4 Aces team finished first by one shot, with the four team members (Perez, Reed, Peter Uihalein and Dustin Johnson ) earning $3 million for the franchise. The Range Goats earned $1.5 million by finishing in second, with the Stinger finishing third and earning $500,000.

Australia gears up for first ever LIV Golf event

LIV Golf will make its Australian debut on April 21, with an estimated 20,000 spectators expected to flock to the Grange Golf Course in Adelaide.

Twelve teams. 48 players. 54 holes. Bring it on!

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Australia gears up for first ever LIV Golf event.

It will be the fourth event of the 2023 LIV Golf League season, after tournaments in Mexico, Tucson and Orlando.

Here is everything you need to know about the exciting event.

The Grange Golf Course in Adelaide is a picturesque course situated close to the ocean and not far from central Adelaide.

It is often listed as one of Australia’s top golf courses and was recently redesigned by LIV Golf Commissioner and Australian great Greg Norman . Norman captured his first professional title at the Grange in 1976, winning the West Lakes Classic.

The Grange Golf Course plays to every inch of its 6,840 yards and will present a huge challenge to competitors during the tournament.

The course will feature a ‘party hole’ with the par three 12th hole (also known as the ‘Watering Hole’) and fans are already loving it .

The Australian players

The all-Australian ‘Ripper GC’ team includes British Open champion Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Jediah Morgan.

Brisbane-born golfing star Smith said the Grange is the perfect location for the event.

“To be honest I couldn’t think of a better place to have it than in Australia,” Smith said recently.

“The crowds get pretty rowdy and pretty loud.”

World No.110 Marc Leishman is thrilled to be back on home soil.

“I haven’t been home during the year apart from Christmas for 16 years so it’ll be nice to be able to play in front of home crowds,” he said.

Top contenders

Fresh off a runner-up finish at the Masters, American Brooks Koepka will be among the favourites to take home the inaugural title.

Koepka was leading the first major going into the final round, but collapsed as Spaniard John Rahm claimed the famous green jacket. Koepka also won LIV Golf Orlando earlier this month.

Compatriots Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed are also expected to be in the mix, while world No.25 Joaquin Niemann is another tipped to challenge.

There’s also 52-year-old Phil Mickelson, who produced a stunning seven-under in his final round at the Masters to storm home to a share of second place. The six-time major champion is in hot form and knows what it takes to win.

Cameron Smith will fly the Aussie flag, but don’t discount Marc Leishman, while Kiwi Danny Lee and American Charles Howell will be chasing their second LIV Golf victory of the season.

Prize money

The total prize pool is $US25 million ($A37 million) with the winner taking home $US4 million ($A5.9 million) and the winning team sharing $US3 million ($A4 million).

There are no cuts in LIV Golf so every player gets a share of the prize pool. With only 48 players competing in every event, last-place still takes home US$120,000 (A$180,000).

Every event has the same structure with the same payout.

How to watch LIV Golf

The Seven Network will be Australia’s inaugural free-to-air home of LIV Golf .

Golf fans can enjoy every action-packed round of the 14-event season via the on-demand 7plus streaming platform.

Live and free coverage of LIV Golf Adelaide will feature on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus .

The tournament begins on Friday, April 21 with coverage of the three days beginning from 12pm AEST .

Throughout the coverage, viewers can tune into the LIV Golf Team Stream: Ripper GC pop-up channel on 7plus , a unique channel dedicated to the all-Australian ‘Ripper GC’ team.

‘On another planet’: LIV stunned by ‘incredible’ destruction; Smith’s wholesome mid-round moment

Cameron Smith and Talor Gooch

Cameron Smith remains the darling of LIV Golf Adelaide — but American Talor Gooch is running away with the win after two rounds of sizzling golf.

Gooch opened the tournament on Friday with a 10-under par round, which has been followed by another birdie blitz on day two at The Grange.

Gooch shot a second consecutive round of 62 following eight birdies and an eagle, leaving him at 20-under par — 10 shots ahead of Abraham Ancer, Brooks Koepka, Carl Schwartzel, Cameron Tringale and Pat Perez.

“Talor Gooch is on another planet right now,” commentator Arlo White said after play.

The winner, almost certain to be Gooch, takes home nearly A$6 million from the A$30 million purse.

Smith, meanwhile, remains the clear crowd favourite and was seen pausing his round to sign a glove and hand it to a child in the crowd.

The Australian fired 69 on Saturday to take him to nine-under par as he chases a top-five finish.

His round produced one of the highlights though with a stunning recovery from the shrub at No.7.

Also at nine-under with Smith is Anirban Lahiri, Harold Varner III, Phil Mickelson and Dean Burmester.

‘NERVOUS STAR NEARS MASSIVE WIN’

When the LIV caravan rolled in to Adelaide it appeared to be a one-man show with Smith plastered everywhere and expectation as much as high hopes the Aussie superstar would pocket the winner’s cheque.

Days of adulation and the sort of fan focus his boss, Greg Norman, encountered regularly in his pomp transitioned to enjoyment and a bevy of second day birdies for Smith who jumped in to reach of a podium finish and plenty to play for on Sunday.

But while Smith did enough to keep the masses enthralled the one-man show became all about Gooch who is just 18 holes away from his first LIV win.

The American, who credited his long-time Australian caddy, Mal Baker, for his inside knowledge on the greens in particular this week, said he was in for a nervous night knowing what’s on offer on Sunday.

“Whenever you‘re doing something that you’ve worked your whole life for, I think you’re going to get nervous,” he said.

“I’ll definitely be nervous tomorrow throughout. I was nervous today throughout. You don’t want to look like an idiot in front of a bunch of people, plain and simple.”

Gooch, who hadn’t finished better than 14th in the three LIV events so far this season, had the thousands following Smith, who still finished 11-shots behind despite shooting a 66, considering ditching the home-town hero to see the leader, such was the near-flawless level of golf he was playing.

His 20-under is the lowest 36-hole score in LIV history

Smith is “still in the tournament” but seemingly playing for second barring what would have to be one of the most calamitous collapses for Gooch not to snare the massive cash first prize on Sunday.

Coming in to the tournament everyone knew it was shorter than plenty, and as golfers like to say, was “gettable” in favourable conditions.

Calling it gettable seems an understatement with 18 players at eight-under or better, after two days of perfect weather for low-scoring which mixed perfectly with the party-like atmosphere which everyone in attendance knew was something different to what they’d seen before.

The top of the leaderboard was littered with the players they came to see as well.

Brooks Koepka, also a runner-up at Augusta and a last-start LIV winner in Orlando joined the birdie blitz with a bogey-free 65 to grab a five-way share of second place..

Fresh from his runner-up finish at the Masters Phil Mickelson, who had been criticised for his poor output before Augusta, was in second at one-stage on Saturday before dropping slightly after a seven-under 65 left him at nine-under.

The best brought their best on a windless, sunny Saturday.

Between them the players who filled the top 15 positions only had 13 bogeys for the day. It was the entertainment LIV promised in golfing form.

LIV Golf line up course in Adelaide to host Australian event in 2023 schedule

Grange Golf Club in Adelaide could be the venue for LIV Golf's Australian event as Greg Norman's hunt for an appropriate course in his homeland continues.

live tour adelaide

LIV Golf may have finally found a club in Australia to fill a hole in their 2023 schedule as Grange Golf Club in Adelaide appears to fit the bill.

According to a news report from 7 News , Grange Golf Club could be the venue which finally satisfies commissioner Greg Norman's search for a place to host an invitational in his home country.

Norman has fond memories of Grange Golf Club. In 1976, he won the West Lakes Classic on the East Course and it is regarded as the first significant win of his career.

The 67-year-old also redesigned the East Course in 2012 and it has since ranked in the top 50 golf courses in the country. The venue would seem to hold a special place in the LIV Golf boss' heart.

"I haven't seen much evidence from the USPGA doing Australian golf and supporters any favours recently, I think it's about time golf had a bit of a shake-up. I wish LIV Golf all the very best," Peter Malinauskas told 7 News, a politician in Southern Australia.

Thus far, LIV has struggled to nail down a golf course in Australia that will become involved in the Saudi-backed series. The Australian fixture is set to be held in April 2023.

At the start of the month, it was reported that The Royal Sydney Golf Club rejected the advances of LIV Golf . Representatives travelled to Sydney in August to take a look at multiple venues. The location appealed to Norman due to its proximity to the stunning Sydney harbour.

It hasn't been smooth sailing in recent weeks for Norman who faced a frosty reception in Washington D.C. last week from US lawmakers, as he ramps up his efforts to establish LIV Golf's place in the game.

It is Norman's intention to build an Aussie core on the breakaway tour. He has recruited Open champion Cameron Smith and six-time PGA Tour winner Marc Leishman to join the likes of Travis Smyth and Wade Ormsby.

The LIV Golf Series will expand to 14 events in 2023 with added stops in Spain, Singapore and either Toronto or Mexico. This was a fast-tracked move which wasn't meant to happen until 2024.

Incubus - Pardon Me

Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting  +LIVE+ & Incubus tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Charlie Dixon pumps his first after kicking a goal

Port Adelaide forward Charlie Dixon has admitted his own "selfishness" was behind a heated exchange with coach Ken Hinkley on Saturday night.

Port escaped with a three-point win over a gallant Fremantle side, with Dixon playing a key role in a late turnaround with a final quarter goal that enabled his side to complete the heist.

Following the game, Dixon lifted the lid on his fiery back-and-forth with Hinkley during the quarter-time break.

"He just wanted me to do a little bit better I guess," Dixon told Fox Footy.

"I wasn't too happy, I wanted a bit more of a chance. That was sort of my selfishness where I thought I could have a little bit more of a crack where he needed me to do more of the team stuff.

"That's what we went to work with (for the rest of the game)."

Elsewhere on Saturday, the Suns ran out 53-point winners over the Hawks , while Adelaide opened its 2024 account with a two-point win over Carlton .

Earlier, the GWS Giants also maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a thrilling one-point win over St Kilda .

That's all folks!

Thank you once again for joining us on what was an absolutely incredible Super Saturday of AFL action.

Please join us tomorrow afternoon as we bring you the final two matches of the round in our live blog.

Action will kick off when Geelong hosts North Melbourne at Kardinia Park at 1pm, before West Coast looks to get off the mark at home against Richmond at 4pm.

See you then!

Gold Coast 16. 13 (109) def. Hawthorn 8. 8 (56)

Sam Clohesy has repaid Damien Hardwick's faith with another eye-catching display in Gold Coast's suffocating 53-point AFL defeat of Hawthorn.

The Werribee VFL pick-up (18 touches) kicked two second-quarter goals and showed touch, class and confidence on the wing for the Suns in a comfortable 16.13 (109) to 8.8 (56) win at Carrara on Saturday night.

It followed an impressive 22-touch debut against GWS for the 21-year-old, former Richmond coach Hardwick rewarded for the selection that saw 250-gamer and his former Tigers premiership star Brandon Ellis relegated to reserve grade.

Victory was the Suns' third from three games at home this season and snapped a two-game losing run.

Hawthorn, who pushed premiers Collingwood last week, remain winless from five games.

Gold Coast boasted seven of the top eight disposal-getters, Noah Anderson (36 touches, one goal, eight tackles) the most prolific while Karl Amon (26 disposals) was the only Hawk with more than 19 disposals.

Key forward Ben King overcame some wobbly early kicking to finish with four goals and four behinds, while Sam Collins played a terrific lock-down job on former Sun Mabior Chol.

Ben Ainsworth was busy for the hosts while Will Graham (14 tackles) and Ethan Read (two goals) stood up in their second AFL games.

Bailey Humphrey started strongly as the Suns' midfield seized control in the first half, hogging the ball in such a manner that only two Hawthorn players had reached double-figures in disposals by the main break.

Read kicked a goal directly from the opening bounce and two more quickly followed.

Hawthorn stayed within touch though, Finn Maginness adding a second and Dylan Moore another major from a turnover to make it a 22-point halftime margin.

Jack Ginnivan (three goals) snapped one for the Hawks but King, beginning the quarter with 1.4, maintained his dominance of the forward 50 in the third term.

He kicked two goals in quick time and three in the quarter as the lead swelled beyond 40.

Maginness's third offered brief hope before Tom Berry came from nowhere to win a loose ball in the goal square, a soccering Read thumping through his second goal approaching the final break.

The Suns lost small forward Malcolm Rosas Jnr to a hamstring injury in the third term, substitute David Swallow kicking three final-quarter goals.

Port Adelaide 9. 12 (66) def. Fremantle 9. 9 (63)

Port Adelaide has continued its fast start to the season, surviving a major scare from Fremantle to record its fourth win in five starts.

In a match which was a genuine arm-wrestle from siren to siren, late goals to Charlie Dixon and Jason Horne-Francis helped the Power overrun Fremantle in the final two minutes at the Adelaide Oval.

It was another bitter pill to swallow for a gallant Fremantle side, which was beaten in similar heartbreaking circumstances by Carlton last weekend.

The Dockers looked like they were home when an Andrew Brayshaw goal inside the final 10 minutes gave them a nine-point lead before the game turned once again.

Dixon, who was well-held by Fremantle skipper Alex Pearce, plucked a contested mark and converted deep inside Port's forward 50 to give the home side a sniff before Horne-Francis kicked the sealer just minutes later.

Zak Butters celebrates a goal in the fourth quarter against Fremantle

All-Australian midfielder Zak Butters was once again among Port Adelaide's best, finishing with 24 disposals, nine tackles, four clearances while also slotting a crucial fourth-quarter goal.

However, Port faces a nervous wait after Butters collected Fremantle's Bailey Banfield with a head-high bump late in the final quarter, with the incident sure to be scrutinised by the AFL.

Fremantle's efforts were led by the tireless Caleb Serong, who notched 29 disposals to go along with nine clearances, while Josh Treacy was damaging up forward with three goals.

The win leaves Port Adelaide in second position overnight, but they will likely be overtaken by Geelong, which faces the struggling Kangaroos on Sunday.

Fremantle remains in seventh position with three wins from its first five matches.

FT: Suns wrap up massive win over Hawks

Impressive stuff from the Suns as they run out 53-point winners over the Hawks.

Gold Coast kicked the first three goals of the match and were never seriously challenged tonight.

Hawthorn did well to stay in it in the first half, but eventually the Suns' dominance shone through.

Noah Anderson with a superb game, finishing with 36 disposals, eight marks, eight tackles, six clearances and a goal, while Ben King led all comers with four goals.

Dixon dishes on heated exchange with Hinkley

Charlie Dixon says "selfishness" was behind his heated back-and-forth with Port coach Ken Hinkley at quarter-time.

"He just wanted me to do a little bit better I guess," he tells Fox Footy.

FT: Port Adelaide outlasts Fremantle in thriller

Listen to this inside Adelaide Oval! The crowd goes absolutely bonkers as the siren sounds to hand Port Adelaide a three-point win over Fremantle.

They did just about everything to throw that one away in the final minute, but the Dockers weren't able to capitalise.

"We were lucky to get away with that in the end," says Port forward Charlie Dixon.

Two heartbreaks in Adelaide in two weeks for Fremantle, who were very, very brave tonight.

"A win to blow your mind," says Dwyane Russell on Fox Footy's coverage.

What. A. Game.

Massive Rioli tackle saves the day

Willie Rioli on the halfback flank with the brilliant defensive act.

The small forward runs down James Aish. There's a minute left in this one.

Can the Power hold on?

Serong behind, Port leading by three

A scrambled shot at goal from Caleb Serong misses to the right.

Port leading by three points with 1.26 left on the clock.

Massive blunder hands ball back to Dockers

Just under two minutes to go, and Port Adelaide has given the ball back to Fremantle after a kick out on the full.

Anyone's game still.

Horne-Francis puts Port ahead!

PORT ADELAIDE HAS HIT THE FRONT!

Port's big guns standing up when it matters most.

They got the ball going their way after another centre clearance from Zak Butters, before Jason Horne-Francis takes a contested mark deep inside Port's forward 50.

He goes back and snaps truly. Port leading with three minutes left.

Massive Dixon grab and goal keeps Port alive

Charlie Dixon with the massive contested mark and goal and Port is back in it!

"They've been looking for that all night," says Leigh Montagna on commentary.

Fremantle clinging onto a two-point lead with 3.56 left on the clock.

Brayshaw extends Dockers lead amid boos

Andrew Brayshaw with the scrappy goal as he snaps up a loose ball deep inside 50 and the Dockers are out to a nine-point lead with six and a half minutes left.

The Adelaide Oval crowd SEETHING after a pair of questionable calls went Fremantle's game.

As the Crows showed earlier today, there's still plenty of time for the Power.

Banfield blows major opportunities

Oh no, Bailey Banfield what have you done!

The Dockers forward has two shots on goal and kicks both of them out on the full as we edge into the final 10 minutes.

Teammate Michael Walters absolutely filthy at the first attempt after he was wide open at the top of the goalsquare but was ignored by Banfield.

Fatigue becoming a factor now. Dockers clinging onto a three-point lead.

Swallow the super sub!

Suns veteran David Swallow has absolutely lit up this game after coming on for Malcolm Rosas.

The veteran midfielder has turned into a forward line weapon and already has three goals.

It's getting ugly now for the Hawks, with the Suns out to a 58-point lead with just over 11 minutes left.

Both subs activated

Justin Longmuir has activated his tactical sub with Jaeger O'Meara coming off. He's being replaced by Neil Erasmus.

Port Adelaide also activating its sub, with Jackson Mead on for Jed McEntee.

Meanwhile, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher getting some extra love on that right shoulder following that massive clash with Amiss a few minutes ago.

Port, Freo exchange goals to start fourth

A terrific transition play from Fremantle ends with Josh Treacy finding Jye Amiss inside 50.

Amiss was made to earn it by Port defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and was on all fours for a few seconds after a terrific contested mark.

The left-footer shows nerves of steel as he goes back and slots the set shot from directly in front.

However, the Dockers' 10-point lead is short-lived as Port hits straight back through a Zak Butters goal.

What a game this has been!

3QT: Freo takes slim lead into final change

It's been the day of thrillers so far and it looks like we've got one more to send you off into the night.

Fremantle has been brilliant tonight and each time the Power looked like they were ready to swing this game their way, the Dockers have hit back.

Fremantle holding a four-point lead at the final change, but it's absolutely anyone's game.

Port skipper Connor Rozee leading the way for his side with 22 touches through three quarters.

Former West Coast defender Will Schofield likes what he's seeing from the Dockers tonight.

3QT: Suns in firm control over Hawks

The Gold Coast Suns with a terrific third quarter and they head into the final change with a 40-point lead.

Damien Hardwick's side has been by far the dominant team tonight and they're finally getting the results to show for it!

Anderson is up to 25 touches and has a goal and six tackles as well. He's also racked up 531 metres so far, just an absolute monster game.

Port rocked by latest Docker onslaught

After working so hard to get their first goal of the third, Port has been pegged back once again!

Make no mistake folks, this Freo side is not going anywhere.

Quick goals to Tom Emmett and Matt Taberner have the Dockers out to a handy 10-point lead in what is a low-scoring contest.

How to watch every memorable moment of the 2024 masters on tv or streaming live.

2024-masters-flag-schedule-g.jpg

The most wonderful time of the golf season continues Sunday as the beauty of April surrounds Augusta National Golf Club. The 2024 Masters is a star-studded affair with a loaded field featuring the best golfers in the world. Scottie Scheffler entered as the favorite and remains that way, once again standing as the leader by a single stroke through 54 holes.

While five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods set a new record at Augusta National  by making the weekend in his 24th consecutive playing of the tournament, he completely ejected on Saturday by posting a 10-over 82, his worst score in a major championship round throughout his professional career.

Collin Morikawa posted one of the low rounds of Saturday to jump one stroke back of Scheffler. Max Homa held serve as he struggled around Augusta National but nevertheless posted a 73. Bryson DeChambeau fell off a bit, but an electric birdie on the last Saturday moved him to four shots back of Scheffler with 18 holes remaining. All will be seeking to earn as much 2024 Masters prize money as possible out of a $20 million purse . Check out the Round 4 tee times at the Masters so you can see when each golfer is set to take the course.

While attending the Masters is a dream for many, simply being able to watch golf on the grandest stage of them all is an incredible treat each year, and we here at CBS Sports are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage of the Masters throughout this week.
