Quest Travel Adventures is a small tour operator specializing in travel to the Atlantic Islands - the Azores and Madeira Islands, Portugal and the Spanish Canary Islands. We focus on customized FIT and small group travel.

We work with all travel agents who are registered with an agency that has a valid IATA, CLIA, or TRUE number. Email your full name, phone number, agency name, and mailing address to [email protected] to register with us. 

Yes, we do! Quest Travel Adventures pays 12% commission to our travel agent partners on all land packages.

Yes, all of our land packages can be customized to suit your clients’ interests, budget, and length of stay.

We book hotel reservations, airport transfers, excursions and on-island activities, private guides and small group tours. Hotels includes breakfast daily and many excursions will include lunch. We can customize a package to include other meals and we can do shore excursions for your cruise clients! 

As a courtesy to our travel agent partners, we can book international flights to be combined with a land package. Net rates are quoted for airfare and we can add an agency fee upon request. 

Yes, we can assist you with packages for mainland Spain and mainland Portugal, either in conjunction with an island visit or without. 

We regularly offer FIT Travel Agent Rates to Madeira, the Azores, and the Canary Islands, valid for certain times of the year. Occasionally we offer a group FAM trip as well in conjunction with the tourism boards.

The Canary Islands are south of Spain in the Atlantic Ocean. They are a 3-hour flight from Madrid or Barcelona. Seasonally, there are non-stop flights from Newark, NJ. Madeira is south of Portugal in the Atlantic Ocean. They are a 2-hour flight from Lisbon. Seasonally there are non-stop flights from Boston and JFK.  The Azores are west of Portugal in the Atlantico Ocean. They are a 2.5 hour flight from Lisbon or a 4.5 hour flight from Boston, MA, or 5-hours from JFK. You can view a map here

Just couldn’t have been better. Extremely professional guides Robin and Sarah were highly knowledgable, friendly and organised. Accomodation was excellent in every location (most hotels even had hot tubs and pools!) and the food options were always good. Lovely comfortable Mercedes minibus. Highly recommended to everyone - would do another tour with South West Adventure Tours in a heartbeat.

3 Day Southwest USA National Parks Tour from Las Vegas

Hello, I have been meaning to write this review since our return, but return to life took over! This was our first "tour" type vacation and approached with some trepidation as to that format. I planned the trip, but, for me, I had additional considerations as to my physical capacity for the tour activities. Short comment: We had an amazing time. Longer comment: So many things go into a successful trip: Destinations - magnificent! Logistics - We were pleasantly surprised by the lodging and the pacing of the trip. For the many destinations we covered and the active nature of the trip, it felt unhurried and relaxed - early mornings and all! Given my worries about physically keeping up, the alternatives each day made me feel that I enjoyed the trip my way and did not miss out on anything making the choices I made for the day. Guide - What can I say about Haley! We discovered that in our group, Haley was actually the youngest, even to our two adult children, who were otherwise the youngest in the group. Yet, we named her Mama Haley. That should tell you about the care she exemplified for the entire group! She took such care in everything, not just the required elements of the trip but paying attention to the needs and wants of the group members. That ranged from the groceries for lunch tailored to individual tastes to the wonderful stops along the route that proved to be destinations in and of themselves to her knowledge of the hikes each day. She was also very knowledgeable about the geological and human history of the area. If there were any facts she did not know, she took the time to look them up during the course of the trip. The days and drives were long, but she made it all look effortless. I had the privilege of riding shotgun in the van for most of the trip and so enjoyed our conversations! I will miss her and wish her the best in life and career! Thank you for an unforgettable trip.

Majestic Alaska (10 Days)

I cannot speak highly enough of this tour. Kris, our tour director, as well as our driver Rose and wellness director Tyler, were all friendly, knowledgeable, and excited to share Alaska with us. Kris is such a warm people-person and consistently went over and above to make this tour what it was, including staying up one night and waking those of us on his list who wanted to see the Northern Lights. The itinerary was no doubt well laid out, but Kris added so many special touches to support Alaskan businesses but also to provide us with extra opportunities to connect with local Alaskans and have the most comfortable and enjoyable experience possible. September was a perfect time to experience this tour. My travel friend and I would highly recommend this trip.

Hike Alaska: Valdez and Wrangell St Elias

It was a very fun and adventuresome trip. The tour guide was well organized and hard working. The only problem was one of the camp sites was pretty primitive compared with the "KOA-style" campgrounds advertised by the company.

Yellowstone / Grand Teton 4 Day / 3 Night Wildlife Adventure

This trip was completely worth the time and money spent! We had the pleasure of having two guides: Gannon and Rachel, and they could not have been nicer people. Informative, enlightening, funny, interesting -- they just couldn't have been any better. The scenery in Grand Teton and Yellowstone was magnificent, and we saw plenty of wildlife, up close and at a distance. Hotels were pleasant, and the meals were good. I would recommend this trip to anyone who hasn't traveled to the western United States.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 7-day tour of the US southwest . We love the destinations included in the tour, every place we visited is on our bucket list. I wanted to pinch myself every day that I visited those iconic and beautiful places as shown in my photos below. We enjoyed all the extra, optional experiences that were suggested by the tour guide. They added more fun to the tour. The Hummer tour in Moab, Utah was one of the optional experiences and it was a blast! Not only it’s fun, you get to see the amazing scenery during the sunset. One previous review mentioned he or she was forced to participate in the Navajo taco dinner in Monument Valley. That comment is not true. You have a choice not to do that and the guide can make a different arrangement for you. The optional Navajo taco dinner is one of the highlights of the tour that we will remember for a long time. It would be a shame not to have this cultural experience when you get to meet Navajo people when you are in the Navajo Nation! Our tour guide, John did a fantastic job. He was full of enthusiasm and energy. He kept the tour well organized and always provided information we needed. We highly recommend the tour.

United states faqs, do i need a covid-19 vaccine to join a trip in the united states.

Everyone traveling on an Intrepid trip must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of carriage. 

All travelers are required to produce: 

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• All children aged 5 to 17 years old must provide proof of vaccination (if eligible), proof of recovery or a negative COVID-19 test.
• If you are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons, you may apply for an exemption. Exemptions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. To apply, you must provide a medical certificate from a medical professional. 

In all cases, you must be fully inoculated. This means you must receive the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine and allow enough time for immunity to take effect. Each COVID-19 vaccine has different dosages and timeframes for inoculation, so please check the relevant medical advice associated with your vaccine.

How can I get to California?

Getting to California is relatively easy as there are a variety of options available including flying, driving, and taking public transport. You can fly into both big airports, such as LAX (Los Angeles), or small airports like Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) depending on which part of California you're traveling in. You can also drive to California if you're from a neighboring state (or want to go on an epic road trip) or you can take a bus or a train with several routes to all the popular destinations.

How do you get around Los Angeles?

Driving is the most time-efficient and popular way of getting around Los Angeles due to the city's size. While there is public transportation in the form of a bus network and the local metro, it's sometimes unreliable and can be quite time-consuming. Los Angeles is known for its crazy traffic situations, especially during peak periods of the day, so make sure you give yourself enough time to get around.

How far is Utah from California?

The time it takes to travel from California to Utah depends on how you're traveling and where in California you're traveling from. Flying is by far the quickest way to travel to Utah with a flight between LAX and SLC (Salt Lake City Airport) taking just under 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive between the two states for an epic road trip that's 12 hours long. If you were to take public transport between the two states it would be longer still but is a relatively cheap option.

Does it snow in Salt Lake City?

Yes, it does snow during winter in Salt Lake City. Snow is expected to fall between November and March but it's not unheard of to experience snowfall as early as October or as late as April. Salt Lake City is a great place to participate in winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and bobsledding, with neighboring mountains close to the city itself.

Due to New Orleans' geographical location, the weather can vary significantly during the year. What should I pack for Yellowstone National Park?

You'll want to make sure you're as comfortable as possible while walking the many amazing hikes and trails in Yellowstone National Park so packing clothes, including hiking boots and socks, that you're familiar with is a must. Regardless of the season you're traveling in, the weather can be quite cold at nighttime so ensure you're packing a heavier jacket or coat to keep you warm. You should also pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and other items that will protect you from the sun during the day.

What's the best time to visit Denali National Park?

It's hard to pinpoint the best time to visit Denali National Park as the landscapes are beautiful all year round. When to visit Denali largely depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for. If you really want to see snow on the surrounding mountains and explore the ultimate winter wonderland then winter would be the best time to go, however, spring and summer see the flowers and vegetation bloom in an array of colors.
