A Sacred Journey

It’s All About the Journey: The Process of Pilgrimage

sacred site journey

Traditionally, pilgrimage has been defined as a journey to a sacred site.

It’s true—destinations such as the Holy Land, Rome, and Iona have attracted pilgrims for generations. However, when we focus solely on the destination, we can often miss the true invitation of pilgrimage, which is ultimately a journey of transformation. The old cliché “the journey is the destination” is, in fact, accurate. While tourists travel to destinations, pilgrims know that the process of journeying is just as valuable as the destination itself and is essential to transformation.

The reason the practice of pilgrimage and the role of the pilgrim resonates so deeply with our seeker souls is that it follows an archetypal pattern and represents an archetypal trajectory embedded within us—the process and path of becoming. Process Thought, which includes the disciplines of Process Philosophy and Process Theology, tells us that we, along with everything in existence, are in an ever-evolving process of becoming. Jay McDaniel, a Process theologian, insists that in fact, simply “being is…becoming.” Process Thought also emphasizes the interconnectedness of all things, which is to say that just as we are always on a journey of becoming, we are continuously impacting and being impacted by all that crosses our path. Because of this interconnectedness and the unfolding nature of all things, Process Thought recognizes the inherent value of all in existence. For the pilgrim, this means that everything has the capacity to shimmer with sacred significance.

While patterns of becoming and journeys of transformation might seem so distant from mundane routines of our everyday lives, we actually find inspiration in them each day in the stories that captivate us in books and on screen. Star Wars , The Lord of the Rings , Harry Potter , and The Wizard of Oz all tell tales of heroes and heroines who, as emphasized in Process Thought, are also in a process of becoming—protagonists who undergo journeys of transformation facilitated by their encounters and change others in the process (in Process Thought, an effect of interconnectedness), ultimately resulting in a gift that is to be shared with the world (in Process Thought, a recognition of inherent value).

Mythologist Joseph Campbell called this process the monomyth , or “one myth,” because he found this pattern recurring in the tales of various cultures across the world and throughout time. Just as psychoanalyst Carl Jung would define archetypes as universal symbols that speak to innate truths within the human condition and collective unconscious, here “myth” refers not necessarily to a story that is entirely false, but rather a fictitious tale that is true on a deeper level. While these stories might not have actually occurred, they resonate so acutely because they speak to profound truths innately known by our souls.

Phil Cousineau, a protégé of Joseph Campbell and the author of The Art of Pilgrimage , takes Campbell’s monomyth further with its application to the practice of pilgrimage. Like the heroes and heroines in our favorite stories we, too, are invited to be active participants in the process of becoming. Cousineau insists that the practice of pilgrimage can serve as an archetype and framework for our participation and engagement in this process. Aligning our own processes of becoming to those found in nature—again emphasizing the interconnectedness of all things, as with Process Thought—Cousineau describes the pattern of pilgrimage as “[replaying] nature’s pattern of regeneration, a journey consisting of departure, arrival, and return.”

These stages of departure, arrival, and return are connected to the themes of longing, quest, and integration and consist of checkpoints along the path that can serve as guideposts as the process of pilgrimage unfolds both on our journeys abroad and in everyday life.

The journey begins with longing—the yearnings sourced deep within that speak to our propensity for change, our need for inspiration, and the questions of the soul. These questions become the source of our eventual quest , and it is in this transition from questions to quest that we experience the call—an invitation from a source beyond ourselves to undertake a meaningful journey. In Process Thought this is referred to as divine lure— the inner encouragement and transcendent persuasion where our longings intersect with the movement of the Sacred Guide. Here we join with the Divine not as followers on a predetermined path but rather as co-creators of the journey. In Process Thought, the future—just like the path—is open. Instead, it is our participation in the journey—our “yes” to the Divine’s invitation and the steps we take along the way—that determines which direction our journeys will take.

Next comes the quest itself with its tests and trials, detours, and labyrinthine roads. Though the path itself can be unclear, Process Thought tells us that one thing is certain: When we attune ourselves to the invitations and movement of the Sacred Guide, we can be confident that whatever path we take will ultimately lead to flourishing. Process Thought offers another consolation on the journey: God is not above or beyond us, but rather within us as a companion each step of the way, experiencing what we experience and feeling what we feel. Because the Sacred Guide joins us in the process of becoming, we never journey alone. Our suffering, just as our joy, is always shared. Equally, since all holds the capacity to reflect Divine presence and has inherent value according to Process Thought, anything that crosses our path along the way can be considered a messenger, a sign, or a teacher, guiding us further on our journeys. This is also a reflection of the interconnectedness emphasized in Process Thought, often represented in the pilgrim’s journey as synchronicity — evidence that even occurrences that seem coincidental can hold deeper meaning.

3. integration

It is this interconnectedness and the reassurance that deeper meaning can be found that become the souvenirs the pilgrim brings home. Whether our journeys are to sacred destinations abroad or through the invitations and illuminations of everyday life, their integration is not complete unless the wisdom gleaned from the experience can be passed on. If we are truly interconnected with all that is in existence, as Process Though claims, then the gifts we receive on the journey are for the benefit of all and must be shared . Both Campbell and Cousineau call this treasure the “boon,” which Campbell describes as “the wisdom and power to serve others.”

the journey continues…

With this offering, the process of pilgrimage repeats its cycle just as the process of becoming continues its evolution, reverberating out into the world through generosity and mutuality and within our own lives through the naming of new longings and the initiation of new quests, leading to ever-expanding possibilities as our greater journeys continue to unfold.

19 Sacred Sites Around the World, From Ancient Churches to Hilltop Temples

By Bridget Hallinan and Alex Erdekian

Nasir ol Molk Mosque Iran

Spiritual experiences come in many forms, from the religious and intellectual, to those centered in art and nature. And so often, these moments are brought on by travel—sometimes unexpectedly, and sometimes because we journey in search of sacred sites, through pilgrimages, sabbaticals, and even solo trips, usually in times when we need an awakening the most.

From Rome to Bethlehem, in the shape of natural landmarks and houses of worship alike, these are some of the world’s most beautiful sacred places. Whether you’re planning a future visit, or simply looking to appreciate the grandeur of these sacred sites from afar, read on for our favorites.

This gallery was originally published in March 2018. It has been updated with new information.

Ghats of Varanasi India

Ghats of Varanasi, India

India 's Ganges River, although notoriously polluted, is believed to have healing, purifying properties—a belief bolstered by tests conducted on the water . In Varanasi, one of the country's seven sacred cities, locals interact with the river via ghats —stepped platforms leading down into the water—and use them as sites for multiple ceremonies. There are bathing rituals for "purification of sins," pilgrimages to collect sacred water, and even designated ghats for cremations, where pyres burn 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can see the phenomenon for yourself if you take a boat tour along the Ganges.

The Paro Taktsang Bhutan

Taktsang, Bhutan

This Buddhist monastery and temple, also known as "The Tiger's Nest," sits perilously on a cliff, 900 meters (2,952 feet) above the Paro Valley in Bhutan , making it worth a trip for the views alone. Taktsang was built in 1692, at the site of a cave where Guru Rinpoche—or second Buddha—meditated for "three years, three months, and three hours" to ward off evil. The site has been sacred ever since, and you can reach it via a steep, two-hour climb from the valley. Once you get to the temple, you can explore the grounds after removing your shoes.

Wat Rong Kun

Wat Rong Khun, Thailand

This temple in Chiang Rai is one of the more recent constructions on our list, having been built by Thai artist Chalermchai Kosipipat just two decades ago in 1997. The gleaming white structure is an ode to Buddha's purity, as well as samsara —the cycle of birth, existence, and death. There's a sculpture of hands raising up from the earth, seemingly from the underworld, beside the bridge leading into the temple, with warrior sculptures flanking each side. But Wat Rong Khun also shows its modernity in many art installations, including nods to superheroes and aliens.

Borobudur Indonesia

Borobudur, Indonesia

Located in Java, Indonesia , Borobudur is an iconic Buddhist temple with construction dating back to the eighth and ninth centuries, during the Syailendra Dynasty. The UNESCO World Heritage site comprises of three tiers, and 72 small stupas—dome-shaped structures containing relics usually related to Buddha—plus one larger central stupa at the top. The structure is specifically designed to represent the path to enlightenment: Each level represents a level of the universe, and the higher you climb, the closer you are to nirvana.

Nasir ol Molk Mosque Iran

Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Iran

Also known as "The Pink Mosque," Nasir al-Mulk Mosque in Shiraz, Iran , is famous for its stunning array of colors—thanks to a unique combination of stained glass windows and mosaics. When Nasir al-Mulk was built in 1888, it was specially designed to take advantage of morning light, and the sun filtering through the windows creates a rainbow effect, highlighting the jewel-toned tiles and rugs in the interior. If you're able to visit the mosque, make sure you go early for the best view.

Stonehenge UK

Stonehenge, U.K.

The true purpose and origin of Stonehenge remains a contested mystery: Theories range from the legendary Welsh wizard Merlin having transported the rocks from Ireland, to the stone circle being a model for female fertility, to a calendar used for seasonal rituals, and an astronomical prediction tool for phenomena like solar eclipses . Regardless, the spiritual landmark remains one of the U.K.'s most popular attractions, drawing some 800,000 visitors annually. There are ties to Druidic and pagan culture, too, and some groups of them still gather at the site to celebrate equinoxes and solstices. To visit, you can take a day trip from London —about two and a half hours by bus.

Abu Simbel Temples Egypt

Abu Simbel Temples, Egypt

The Abu Simbel Temples were built by Ramses II of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt during his reign from 1279-13 B.C.E. The complex, in southern Egypt , includes two temples: both the Great Temple and nearby Small Temple. Carved out of a sandstone cliff, the Great Temple's main entrance is flanked by four statues of Ramses himself, with likenesses of family members at his feet. Supposedly, the structure is dedicated to the ancient sun gods Amon-Re and Re-Horakhte, though Ramses is also depicted as a god. On two days of the year—usually February 21 and October 21—the sun hits the Great Temple just right and illuminates the inner shrine.

Boudhanath Nepal

Boudhanath, Nepal

Much like Indonesia's Borobudur, the Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal, is designed with levels that symbolize enlightenment. The bottom plinth represents earth, the dome represents water, the tower represents fire, and the top spire represents air. All-seeing eyes mark the tower on each side, representing Buddha's all-knowing gaze. Between the glimmering gold and white colors and the imposing spire, which draws your eyes up to the sky, the structure is truly spectacular to witness. Boudhanath is a popular pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists, and a huge tourist attraction in Kathmandu.

Angkor Wat Cambodia

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

This famous twelfth-century temple in Cambodia is modeled after the mythological Mount Meru, where Hindus believe the ancient gods live. At its highest point, Angkor Wat reaches more than 700 feet tall. The temple complex, which has ties to both Hinduism and Buddhism, has walls covered with carvings, including over 3,000 asparas (nymphs) and many other mythological events and figures. It's a vastly popular tourist attraction: in 2018, short of 3 million tourists paid a visit, which was a third of all who stepped foot in Cambodia. Tourists begin lining up as early as 4:30 a.m. for tickets, so make sure you get there early—or be prepared to wait.

Uluru Australia

Uluru, Australia

Uluru (aka Ayers Rock, or Big Red Rock) is an iconic Australian landmark. Considered sacred by native Anangu Aboriginals—the custodians of the land—they believe that Uluru and its surrounding area was created by their ancestors and that their spirits continue to inhabit the land today. In light of this cultural significance, the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Board of Management voted in 2017 to ban visitors from climbing onto the rock—which was a popular tourist activity during sunrise and sunset, often accompanied by a champagne toast. Ever since October 2019, tourists have had to go around Uluru's base instead, out of respect for the Anangu and the rock's protection.

Spanish Synagogue Czech Republic

Spanish Synagogue, Czech Republic

Prague 's Spanish Synagogue is a sight to behold. The jewel-toned interior design is representative of the Moorish Revival style, influenced by the Alhambra Palace in Granada—hence, the moniker. The structure was built in 1868 for a local Reform congregation, and in addition to being a synagogue, it also hosts two permanent exhibitions: one on the history of Jewish people in Bohemia and Moravia, and the other of silver artifacts from a synagogue in the same region. The synagogue has a rich history as well. During World War II and the Holocaust, the seized possessions of local Jewish communities were stored within.

Cenote Sagrado Mexico

Cenote Sagrado, Mexico

Cenotes —which are natural sinkholes or wells filled with water—were sacred to the Maya people, and used as communication portals with the gods. The Cenote Sagrado in Chichén Itzá, Mexico, is believed to have been the site of rituals, and offerings. Jewelry, incense, pottery, and copious remains of bodies—suggesting human sacrifices to the gods were made—have been discovered at the bottom by archaeologists. White this cenote was a pilgrimage destination for the Maya, today visitors can freely swim or take a dip in it.

Church of St. George Lalibela Ethiopia

Church of St. George, Ethiopia

In northern Ethiopia , the small town of Lalibela is known for its eleven medieval churches carved out of monolithic rock. Dating back to the twelfth century, the churches were built on orders of King Lalibela, who envisioned the creation of a "New Jerusalem" during a time when pilgrimages to the holy land were hindered by Muslim conquests. Today the site still sees many pilgrimages, largely from Coptic Christians. The structures, complete with catacombs and ceremonial passages, are fascinating; the Church of St. George, or Biete Ghiorgis (pictured), is particularly famous for its cross-shaped design and network of trenches, which connects it to the other churches.

Devil's Tower Wyoming

Devils Tower, U.S., Wyoming

Devils Tower, a gargantuan geological structure and an American national monument, rises 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River and plains in northeastern Wyoming . It's a world-renowned climbing destination —but it's also a sacred site for more than 20 Native American tribes and indigenous people, according to the National Park Service. The Crow call the tower "Bear Lodge" and have been known to fast and worship there, even building small stone houses for dream quests. The formation has also been the site of one of the Lakota's famous battles, purification rites, and the tribe's sacred Sun Dance. The Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Shoshone have documented ties, too, and many ceremonies and prayer offerings continue to take place at the tower today. You may see religious paraphernalia such as prayer cloths at the site, but the NPS urges tourists to be respectful and avoid disturbing.

Western Wall in the Old City Jerusalem

Western Wall, Israel

Israel is acknowledged as the Holy Land in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, and Jerusalem's Western Wall is its holiest site. The limestone structure has been a place of worship since the 11th century, as the closest place to Temple Mount (where it’s said God created man) from which worshippers can pray. It’s common practice for visitors to write their prayers, hopes, and wishes on slips of paper, then slide them into the cracks of the walls. The memos are collected throughout the year, before being buried in a Jewish cemetery on the nearby Mount of Olives.

Holy Trinity Monastery Meteora Thessaly Greece

Monasteries of Meteora, Greece

Though Meteora isn’t name-recognizable like the Notre Dames of the world, you’ve likely seen images of these mountain-top monasteries before. The set of stone buildings are set atop steep, jagged cliffs in Central Greece, creating a scene seemingly out of a fairytale. Eastern Orthodox monks first occupied the region’s caves in the 11th century, before the monasteries were even built. Now, after a thousand-year history of much turmoil—including Turkish invasion, the creation of the complex and its frescoes, and efforts to use it as a refuge from the Ottoman Empire—six of the 24 of the monasteries remain active. The Ypapanti monastery is usually open to the public, and well worth the four-and-a-half hour train ride from Athens.

The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine NYC

St. John the Divine, U.S., New York City

St. Patrick’s Cathedral is perhaps the best known of New York City’s holy sites, but also worth a visit is the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, further uptown. Situated at 112th and Amsterdam in Morningside Heights, the gargantuan Gothic Revival cathedral is the largest Episocopal church in the world. Important works of art lie within, including a Keith Haring altarpiece of white gold and bronze, carved with the artist’s signature figures—one of his last works before dying of AIDS. Take a tour up to the top, where you’ll get a humbling view of the bustling city from above. (Guests are even allowed to stand on a buttress.)

The church of the nativity in sunset light Bethlehem Palestine

The Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem

The story of Jesus’s birth is oft-retold throughout the world, and crucial to the telling is the cave where the birth took place. That very grotto in Bethlehem, submerged beneath the oldest basilica in the Holy Land on the West Bank, is open to visitors today. A silver star lies on the ground, supposedly marking the exact point where Jesus was born. While this site is Bethlehem’s most popular tourist attraction year-round, there are even larger festivities come Christmastime, including crowds of carolers and midnight services. It’s a World Heritage site, too—the first one UNESCO listed under Palestine.

Sistine Chapel Rome

Sistine Chapel, Italy

The wait to enter the Sistine Chapel will likely command hours of your time, but it’s well worth it. Painted across the ceiling of the chapel are Michelangelo’s Renaissance frescoes, which depict biblical tales such as The Creation of Adam . Beyond the subject matter of the works, there’s a spiritual experience in simply bearing witness to the artistic feat, completed from 1508 to 1512. And, thanks to strict rules on noise levels and photography, you’ll likely stare up in pure silence, without even the click of a camera shutter to distract you. (The chapel is often called Rome’s quietest attraction, despite the millions of annual visitors.)

The Travel Dilemma! When to Register for Your Sacred Sites Journey By Andrea Mikana-Pinkham, Director of Sacred Sites Journeys I regularly receive emails or phone calls from people who are interested in traveling with us asking when they need to register. In fact, it's become so often over the past 30 years that we've been in business that I thought I'd share these travel tips with all of you. Here are the important things to consider about when to register for your Sacred Sites Journey. 1) HOTELS : When we book with the hotels that we work with in the various countries where we offer our spiritual journeys they give us a block of rooms and a deadline by which they must be filled. And 9 times out of 10 they are hard and fast on this deadline. I have to give them the names of the people who will be occupying the rooms by that date, or lose the rooms. Many hotels ask for this list several months in advance. Why so far in advance from the date the tour begins you may ask? Because we choose properties that are good ones and they usually fill up early, as they have repeat bookings from our company and others. When we find a good thing for our groups, we stick with it. So this means that the dates that we have in the information on the various pages on our website for the tours, where it says " We must have x number of people booked by x date in order to be able to operate the tour ", this is the date that the hotels have given us as a deadline to keep our block of rooms. Once that date is past, we are not able to get them back. Which means that if we don't get enough people to fill them by that date, unfortunately we are forced to cancel the journey. Which is very disappointing for the people who have registered. As well as for those of you who call after that deadline to register, only to find that it's not possible to do so because the tour was cancelled. And believe me, this has happened. Therefore, if you're thinking of traveling with us on our SSJs in the future, please note the date that we need to have the required number of people registered by to operate the journey, and be one of those who registers by that date. 2) AIRLINES : Another reason to book sooner than later is to get a good airfare, with good connections AND a good seat on flights. I often hear from people that they're waiting until closer to the departure date to book their air, as they'll get a lower priced ticket. Well...sorry folks, but contrary to what you may believe, this will most likely not happen. Prices go UP as it gets closer to the departure date. At least for good flights that's the case; those are the ones with good connections. You might get a cheap ticket if you're willing to have 2+ stops to your destination, and connections that are either very long, or very short, where you run the risk of missing your flight. Airlines consider a 45 minute connection legal; I consider it insane! Now do you really want to do that? My guess is that most of you will not want to. I know I wouldn't. The other thing that happens if you wait to book your airfare is that the good seats, i.e. aisle and window, disappear. All that's left are the dreaded middle seats. And I've never met anyone yet who wants one of those seats. Do you? 3) PLANNING AND BUDGETING : One of the best reasons to book your Sacred Sites Journey early is to give yourself enough time to plan and budget for it. And to manifest the trip! By registering for your tour you're telling the Universe that you're going. The laws of manifesting kick in when you do, and the time, energy and money for your journey come to you. In my thirty years of operating our tours I've only seen two people who did this end up not being able to go on their pilgrimage. And the reason was not because they didn't have the money, as they'd manifested the funds. They both had terminal illnesses and didn't know it at the time they registered. They chose to spend the time they had left on planet earth with their families. This means that the many other people who have traveled with us have used the principles of manifesting to be able to make their dreams come true. You're no less a child of the Universe than they are. You can do it too! I hope this gives you some useful information. And that you'll go ahead and send in your registration sooner than later for the Sacred Sites Journey of your choice. I invite you to continue reading for information about our offerings..... The excursions to sacred sites offered by Sacred Sites Journeys are not tours. They are spiritual pilgrimages! Sacred Sites Journeys was founded in 1993 to provide opportunities for spiritual seekers to travel to the world’s sacred sites. Through offering ritual, meditation, and other spiritual practices we are committed to creating the energized environments that are most conducive to the activation (or further activation)of spiritual vision and abilities. Guided Small Group Tours to the Sacred Sites and Power Centers of Europe

Kathleen McGowan

We are honored to have formed alliances with such notable experts as Kathleen McGowan and Dr. Semir Ogmanagic who lead our Mary Magdalene France and Bosnian Pyramid programs. With our spiritual group travelers they share an intimate knowledge of such magical places as Mont St Michel, Rennes – le – Château, Sarajevo and Zavidovici. It is one thing to “know” Kathleen from her New York Times best selling historical novels and her appearances on The History Channel’s Ancient Aliens and Bible Secrets Revealed television programs, but it is something much more profound to walk with her through Chartres Cathedral to its transformational labyrinth. In Visoko, you can explore the oldest and largest pyramids in Europe with “Dr. Sam,” who discovered them.

Machu Picchu Tour

Some people are surprised that Hiram Bingham’s “Lost City of the Incas” is not the only stop on their Peru itinerary. Although it may be the highlight, tours to Machu Picchu also typically include Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, the Sacred Valley, Pisac, Ollantaytambo and sometimes even Lake Titicaca and the mystical inter-dimensional portal of Aramu Muru.

Similarly, there is much more to Sedona, Arizona than the energy vortexes. We delight in sharing such experiences as hikes in Oak Creek Canyon, walking a labyrinth, meditating in a medicine wheel and even browsing through Southwest art at local galleries.

Uxmal pyramid tour

According to Maya legend, the oval-shaped Pyramid of the Magician at Uxmal was built in one night by a dwarf magician who had been hatched from an egg. It, along with Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, Calakmul and Tulum are only a small fraction of the tradition-rich citadels that Mexico’s Yucatan have to offer. We also visit water-filled cenotes and shop for colorful handicrafts in picturesque markets.

And, of course, all our small group tours are led by experts in their field, plus you also enjoy the extra experience of traveling with like-minded people.

In this place there are no limits and anything is possible. It’s a place that catalyzes, amplifies and accelerates all awakening and transformation. Mount Shasta Sacred Sites

Mount Shasta is one of the highest frequency places on earth, emanating the vibration of the crown chakra. Native Americans have long held this mountain as sacred and some say it’s even part of what remains of an ancient civilization. Guided by spirit, we visit a number of very unique mystical sacred site vortexes that amplify awakening, healing and transformation. Each Mount Shasta vortex has its own distinct frequency and character, energizing participants with a strong dose of its unique catalyzing medicine. This potent volcano will change you at a core level. When attending a shamanic retreat here, results are often nothing short of miraculous.

Hawaii Sacred Sites

Hawaii is one of the most powerful & activating geographical Sacred Site vortexes in the world. The spiritual is alive and palpable in the timelessness that occurs when you experience the mystical wisdom of Ancient Hawaii. The Islands, a unified Sacred Site, serve as a powerful healer, teacher and amplifier of all change and awakening.  On the Island, we visit many very distinct ancient earth vortexes, each with its own special and unique quality or personality. All of them specifically catalyze and transform what holds us back, giving us freedom, instantly healing anything, and awakening us to our true nature.  Marinate in and be transformed by Aloha, Unconditional Love, which heals anything and everything.

Meet Magick

For over twenty years Greg “Magick” Bernstein has been leading Sacred Site spiritual retreats, serving as a spiritual guide and sharing the ancient teachings of mysticism and unconditional love. His life has been a rare path, combining lauded entrepreneurial success in business and studying extensively and intimately with master spiritual teachers, Elders, Kahuna, Hawaiian Shaman and Universal Mystics. As such, Magick helps dissolve the illusory line between the physical and spiritual so that each of us can live our full potential.

Magick’s unique approach is to create a powerful field of unconditonal love and truth in which awakening, connection to the spirit world, and your Higher Self is exponentially amplified. He does this in part with his unique storytelling style that is adventurous, playful, and often incredible. He shares “magical” and seemingly miraculous experiences which result in the everyday world of creating wealth, health, career, relationships and deep connection with Spirit and Inner Guidance. He transmits Universal teachings on an energetic level which penetrate deep into participants, helping dissolve illusion and awaken them to the truth of who they are. He calls this a shamanic transmission.

Any mystical experience you could have in a geographic Sacred Site vortex is available right here, right now, inside you. You don’t have to travel anywhere outside yourself to discover it, but you do have to learn how to travel deep inside yourself. You Are THE SACRED SITE RetreatS

Virtual meditation retreats & retreat center gatherings.

On these retreats, we gather as a group to discover that You Are The Sacred Site – the most powerful place is within. These retreats can happen anywhere, in seemingly ordinary places such as our own homes via zoom or at a retreat facility. The intention is to look within, rather than making our adventure outward. Through teachings, meditations, exercises and time in nature, these retreats are a deep dive into the Infinite, All That Is, and Oneness that can be found inside your own experience – in any and every moment.  Releasing all conditioned reality and all that is illusory, you will heal personal egoic wounds, be able to manifest anything you want, and/or awaken to your true nature and realize you are already everything you truly need. You are Infinite; you are Unconditional Love; you are what you have been seeking.

YOU ARE THE SACRED SITE Retreats

Virtual meditation retreats & in-person shaman retreats.

Ultimately all of our retreats are designed for you to discover that the most powerful Sacred Site on earth is within you; it actually is you. Because of this, our Custom You are the Sacred Site Retreat can literally take place anywhere in the world, as long as you are Present. These retreats are totally customized to meet your needs and desires.  You and Magick choose the dates, place, number of days, and type of experience you want. For example: Magick on Vacation with you; Zoom retreat in your home and/or nature; focus on awakening; and/or focus on personal manifestation.  Its all up to you.  No need to wait for the times and dates of a retreat to match your schedule. This is the preferred retreat for people who can’t travel to Maui or Mount Shasta in the near future. This retreat can happen now.

How to create a formula for owning the inclusive leadership journey.

Creating a formula for inclusive leadership will help leaders in navigating an ever-changing ... [+] workplace.

Many are still searching for practical solutions to excel as inclusive leaders. Approaching the solution from a formulaic perspective can be empowering. So, what exactly would a pragmatic formula for excelling in inclusive leadership include? This article will explore and provide insights into crafting a personalized formula to support growth as an inclusive leader.

What Is the Inclusive Leadership Formula?

Finding solutions to the workplace community's ever-changing needs requires tools at our disposal to navigate and improve the workplace culture. Creating an inclusive leadership formula provides a proactive way for inclusive leaders to cultivate inclusion effectively. As such, think through the components of a repetitive formula for impactful results. Remember that this formula will ebb and flow to become more robust with additional awareness, offering a hopeful path for continuous growth. Here an example of a formula: A+T+E+C = IL (attitude + transparency + education + commitment)

Why Is Attitude Important For Inclusive Leaders?

Being open about inclusive leadership can be insightful in many ways. In other words, seek to allow space for the discovery of an ever-changing path. Openness is also an opportunity to demonstrate appreciation for ambiguity when navigating spaces where one can't simply know all the answers about fostering inclusivity in the workplace. This writer only professes to have some of the answers regarding inclusive leadership but remains open for answers to unfold on an exploratory journey of helping oneself and others be better at inclusivity. A great place to start is by taking or revisiting the research-infused Myer's Briggs test , which unpacks insights around preferences and more. Doing so will provide an opportunity to up the ante with insights on impactful ways to be more inclusive. For example, imagine getting data and ideas to action suspension of judgment to improve leadership capabilities when managing teams.

Knowing how to navigate transparency expectations will serve inclusive leaders.

Why Do Inclusive Leaders Need To Embrace Transparency?

Many inclusion hiccups occur because of a need for more visibility into decision-making, psychological safety to build genuine connections and foster trust for win/win relationships, and more. Therefore, leaders who aspire to excel at inclusive leadership must explore the effectiveness of handling transparency in the workplace. Consider the many decisions around in-person or remote teaming at the height of the pandemic . These decisions had an impact on the effectiveness of inclusion. If a leader didn't consider how decisions impacted workers at a deep level, then turbulence occurred and potentially unknowingly purported exclusion in the workplace. In my previous Forbes article, Inclusive Teams: What They Are And Why They Matter , I talked about how leaders can gain insights from active listening to foster team inclusion. Managers who listen to team member feedback will gain transparency and impactful insights to generate a roadmap for leading an inclusive team. The leader's role in fostering transparency is crucial for creating an inclusive workplace.

5 Elements of Emotional Intelligence or EQ such as Self-awareness, Self-regulation, motivation, ... [+] Empathy, social skill

Amazon Prime Video s Best New Show Arrives With A Perfect 100 Critic Score

Apple s iphone 16 pro design revealed in new leak, at the heart of the ai pc battle lies the npu, why is ongoing education critical for inclusive leaders.

Lifelong learning is essential to navigating and thriving in an inclusive workplace. As such, inclusive leaders who want to succeed must commit to regular awareness-building activities. For example, empathy and emotional intelligence education are good knowledge foundations to support professional growth as an inclusive leader. Daniel Goleman's book Emotional Intelligence states, "The fine art of relationships requires the ripeness of two other emotional skills, self-management and empathy." There are many more skills to explore for skill-building as an inclusive leader. These are a few suggestions to explore.

Why Do Inclusive Leaders Need to Stay Committed To An Inclusive Workplace?

Ongoing cultural shifts and occurrences create turbulence that affects workplace goals and inclusion progress. As such, inclusive leaders must evaluate and proactively prepare commitments with supporting accountability, focusing on embedding inclusion deeply into the workplace's fabric.
