Staind Announce 2024 Tour Dates with Seether + Saint Asonia

Image of the rock band Staind.

New Staind tour dates are here – Story by Anne Erickson, photo by Steve Thrasher

Staind tour dates: the band will hit the road with Seether and Saint Asonia in 2024

There was a time when I thought Staind was done. Frontman Aaron Lewis seemed much more interested in his solo music, and guitarist Mike Mushok was busy with other projects, such as Saint Asonia. But, there’s no arguing that Staind is one of the biggest rock bands to come from the late-1990s and early-2000s post-grunge era, so the demand was and is there. Now, the guys have a new album out, 2023’s “Confession of the Fallen,” and have spent much of this year touring with Godsmack. That trend will continue next year, as Staind have announced new tour dates for 2024. So, who is on tour with Staind? This time around, it’s Seether, Saint Asonia and newcomer Tim Montana.

The tour, dubbed “The Tailgate Tour,” runs just 11 dates, mainly throughout the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. Staind will begin the trek on April 22 in Brandon, Mississippi, and continue on the road through a May 15 date in Pelham, Alabama. View the full roster of Staind tour dates below. It’s extra cool to see Saint Asonia on the bill, because of the Mushok ties. Also, produced by Live Nation, tour brings together Staind and Seether for the first time in years.

“I’m really looking forward to being back on the road with my good friends Seether, Tim Montana and Saint Asonia,” Staind lead vocalist Aaron Lewis said in a statement. “It’s going to be a great time.”

Staind is touring in support of the band’s latest album, the aforementioned “Confessions of the Fallen,” which marked their first studio album in 12 years. The band’s latest single off the record, “Here & Now,” just moved inside the Top 5 at Active Rock radio. For a band that’s been together for nearly 30 years, it’s pretty remarkable to see Staind still on top of the modern rock charts.

The new dates aren’t a total surprise. This fall, Mushok spoke with Audio Ink Radio in an interview and said the guys were planning to hit the road in 2024. “Well, there’s definitely more touring,” Mushok said. “I know that we’re trying to figure out what next year’s going to be right now. So, there’s definitely that. I’m just kind of taking it as it goes. Listen, I love writing music in this band. I definitely get a lot of enjoyment out of it, and I’m very proud of what we’ve done.” Find Audio Ink Radio’s full interview with Mike Mushok of Staind here .

Tickets for the newly-announced shows will go on sale via an artist pre-sale this Wednesday (Nov. 15) at 10 a.m. local time. Additional pre-sales will also be available this week. Then, tickets will go on sale to the general public on-sale launch on Friday (Nov. 17) at noon local time. For more information, visit Staind’s official website .

Staind & Seether

Fast forward to 2024, and Staind is hitting the road again with "The Tailgate Tour," featuring old pals Seether, Saint Asonia, and the rising star Tim Montana. It's an 11-stop journey, kicking off on April 22 in Brandon, Mississippi, and cruising through the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. The grand finale? May 15 in Pelham, Alabama.

This tour 's part of Staind's ongoing reunion saga. They recently dropped their first studio album in 12 years, "Confessions of the Fallen," and the single "Here & Now" is a vibe. It’s even cracking the Top 5 at Active Rock radio. The Staind comeback is in full swing, and "The Tailgate Tour" is the perfect way to catch these rock legends in action!

In 2014, Aaron Lewis said the band would never go on tour again. He said, “The touring machine, as you call it, of Staind will never be again. Not like that, no. Never. I could never go back to playing six shows [a week] eight weeks in a row. I can't do that. I have grown in my age and become very accustomed to playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday and being able to go home for a few days and unwind and try to kind of have a life aside from doing this.”

Well, the joke’s on him because the band is finally ready to get back on their feet! Don’t miss out when they come to Brimingham, Alabama!

Often compared to metal giants like Tool and Korn, Staind have turned their alt-metal sound into a 2 decade long career that has seen over 15 million records sold.

The band met and formed in Massachusetts in the mid-90s and started out covering songs by the likes of Rage Against the Machine and Alice in Chains which would help to mould their sound as they moved forward. The 5 piece line up consisted of Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, Johnny April and Jon Wysocki which remained a constant until Jon’s departure in 2011.

The band self-released a small quantity of their debut album ‘Tormented’ and, after opening for Limb Bizkit, made a new fan in frontman Fred Durst. With the help of Terry Date, Fred produced Staind’s major label debut ‘Dysfunction’ which, although a slow seller to begin with, began to pick up traction as the band toured hard and singles began to receive radio play.

The band really broke out with the release of third album ‘Break the Cycle’. As evidenced by hit single ‘It’s Been A While’, the band had started to blend more post-grunge sounds in with their nu-metal foundations with great results as the album debuted at number one in the album charts and eventually went on to sell 7 million copies round the world.

The band continued to release successful albums (all of which debuted in the top 10 of the album charts) and, after taking a brief hiatus in 2012, returned to touring in 2014 with numerous festival appearances.

Live reviews

Staind is a band that I have a lot of respect for. I went to four Staind concerts last year and I was not disappointed for any reason at all at the events.

They always have a decent crowd to be with at their shows and that is why I love being there live. I have no fear that somebody is going to push me in a mosh pit when I don't want to go in.Outside of respectful fans, the band has been putting out excellentusic for over ten years.

They won't just play their new music at live events, they will play lots of songs off of their old albums. I want to go see Staind another four times this year!

Morgan Wallen arrested on felony charges in Nashville after allegedly throwing chair from bar rooftop

By Christopher Brito

Updated on: April 8, 2024 / 12:39 PM EDT / CBS News

Country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested on felony charges after allegedly throwing a chair from a bar rooftop in Nashville on Sunday night, police said.

Wallen, 30, faces three reckless endangerment charges and one disorderly conduct charge following an incident at country artist Eric Church's six-story restaurant bar, Chief's, in downtown Nashville, the Metro Nashville Police Department said. Police said in a social media post that Wallen tossed a chair from the top floor of Chief's and it landed on Broadway – close to two officers.

His lawyer, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest and told CBS News in a statement that the singer is cooperating with authorities.

Wallen's bond was set at $15,250. He's scheduled to appear in court on May 3. His arrest comes as he kicked off his One Night At A Time Tour on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. He will be in Nashville for his concert dates on May 2 through May 4.

On Sunday, his fellow country music colleagues celebrated wins at the  Country Music Television Awards  in Austin, Texas. Wallen's music video for "Last Night" was nominated for best male video of the year, but he lost to  Jelly Roll, whose "Need a Favor" video  won it instead.

Country music singer Morgan Wallen was arrested overnight in Nashville on felony charges after he allegedly threw a chair from a downtown rooftop for "no legitimate purpose," police said.

Wallen , 30, was booked into jail early Monday morning on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct in connection to the late Sunday night incident, the Metro Nashville Police Department reported.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by USA TODAY, at 10:53 p.m. local time, two police officers were standing in front of Chief's Bar in the city's entertainment district on Lower Broadway when they saw a chair fall from above and hit the street about three feet from them.

In the affidavit, police wrote, the bar's staff members told officers Wallen threw the chair, and when officers reviewed video footage of incident, it showed him "lunging and throwing an object off the roof."

Chief's Bar, owned by country music singer, Eric Church, is a six-story building .

Witnesses told police they stood next to the country singer and watched him “pick up the chair, throw it over him, laughing afterward,” the affidavit continues.

Police wrote they arrested Wallen on reckless endangerment charges because two officers were in the area and the incident posed a danger to public.

The affidavit goes onto say officers arrested him for disorderly conduct because "he created a hazardous condition by an act that served no legitimate purpose."

Morgan Wallen Timeline of the country singer's rollercoaster career after his most recent arrest

Davidson County Sheriff's Office online records show Wallen was booked into jail at 12:36 a.m. local time and released from jail around 3:30 a.m.

A court official told USA TODAY Wallen posted a $15,250 bond.

A mugshot provided by Nashville police shows Wallen smiling in the photo.

No injuries were reported.

In a statement issued to USA TODAY through his representatives, Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson, confirmed knowledge of the arrest and wrote Wallen is "cooperating fully with authorities."

Online court records show Wallen is due in court next month for a settlement hearing on the charge.

Where is Morgan Wallen from?

Morgan was born in Sneedville, a small city in Hancock County, Tennessee, roughly 70 miles northeast of Knoxville.

In February, the singer announced he plans to open a six-story bar along Lower Broadway called "This Bar." The title comes from Wallen's 2019 song where he sings, "I found myself in this bar / Making mistakes and making new friends."

Wallen’s most recent album “One Thing at a Time”  peaked at No. 1  on the Billboard 200 chart and produced the Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Last Night.”

Wallen previously criticized for video of him saying racial slur

The arrest is not the first time Wallen has drawn scrutiny for his actions in public.

In February of 2021, Wallen apologized after a  video surfaced of him shouting a racial slur  in Nashville that prompted swift backlash from the music industry.

In a video posted to YouTube, Wallen described what is depicted in the video as "hour 72 of 72 of a bender."

"Obviously, the natural thing to do is to apologize further and just continue to apologize but because you got caught and that's not what I wanted to do," the singer said in the video. "I let so many people down. And [people] who mean a lot to me and give so much to me. And that's just not fair."

Country star Morgan Wallen arrested in Nashville at Eric Church's Chief's for throwing chair: Police

staind tour nashville tn

Eleven-time 2023 Billboard Music Award-winning country music performer Morgan Wallen was arrested late Sunday at Chief's, the six-story Nashville honky-tonk recently opened by his business partner and longtime confidant Eric Church.

Wallen has been charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

In a police report, the 30-year-old singer was accused of throwing a chair from the establishment's rooftop down to the street below while the bar just before 11 p.m. Metro Nashville police officers were standing in front of the bar and saw the chair hit the ground just feet from where they were standing, the report said.

Officers who viewed security footage saw Wallen "lunging and throwing an object over the roof," the report said.

Witnesses said Wallen laughed afterward.

In a statement issued to the Tennessean by Wallen's representatives, Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson of Worrick Robinson Law, noted, "At 10:53 p.m. CT Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."

Wallen was released around 3:30 a.m. Monday on $15,250 bond. He is due in court on May 3, a date that coincides with one of three planned concert dates at Nashville's Nissan Stadium . The singer is scheduled to perform there May 2-4.

No statement has been issued yet about the April 20, 2024, make-up date for his canceled 2023 appearance at Oxford, Mississippi's Vaught-Hemingway Stadium or if his headlining appearance at the Stagecoach Festival on April 28 will be canceled in light of his recent arrest.

Last year, Wallen said he needed vocal rest on April 24, 2023 and canceled that show. It was only 11 dates into his seven-month global tour. He refunded the cost of the tickets.

"I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could," he said at the time.

Morgan Wallen's history with Lower Broadway

Wallen has a history of run-ins with the law on Lower Broadway.

On May 24, 2020 , Wallen was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside of Kid Rock's honky-tonk in downtown Nashville.

In the arrest warrant, the Metro Nashville Police Department said Wallen got kicked out of Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse at about 11 p.m. for "kicking glass items." On the street, police said he verbally fought with passersby while officers watched.

"Officers gave (Wallen) several opportunities to walk away with his friends, but he refused to walk away," Metro said at the time, noting that he was "a danger to himself and the public."

Wallen recently announced that he will open a Nashville bar called 'This Bar' in 2024 to pay homage to his Tennessee roots. The six-story establishment will be located at 107 4th Avenue North on Lower Broadway and is planned as a live music venue and restaurant.

The bar's title comes from Wallen's 2019 song of the same name, where he sings, "I found myself in this bar / Making mistakes and making new friends."

In a press release announcing the opening, Wallen said, “I sing about finding myself in 'This Bar,' and now it's coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music."

Morgan Wallen's 2024 at-present

Sunday saw Wallen not attending CMT's 2024 Music Awards in Austin, Texas .

In response to a 2021 controversy surrounding him being recorded while drunkenly using a racial slur in front of his home, CMT had removed Wallen's music from all of their platforms.

"We do not tolerate or condone words and actions that are in direct opposition to our core values that celebrate diversity, equity & inclusion," CMT representatives said via social media.

Wallen was at Chief's after returning to Nashville from a headlining domestic kick-off for his nationwide "One Night at a Time" tour at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium on April 4 and 5. Attendance for both of those dates set the venue's attendance record.

Church and Wallen's business interests

Chief's opened on April 5 with the first night of the venue's Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year namesake's "To Beat The Devil" residency. The event was held in the intimate, 400-person Neon Steeple venue.

Church's venue was announced in early 2022, with AJ Capital leading the renovation.

AJ Capital has become a leading real estate developer in Music City during the past decade.

Collaborations with Church for Chief's and Wallen, via his Morgan Wallen Foundation and donors, including Church (via the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and the Chief Cares Fund) to work on the renovation of North Nashville's historic Club Baron venue are two ways in which they have recently engaged with Nashville's music community.

Also, Church and Wallen recently announced a partnership to acquire and relaunch the 152-year-old Field & Stream outdoor lifestyle brand.

Among the pair's forthcoming Field & Stream-branded concepts are a limited-edition apparel collection and the announcement of an outdoor fall "Field & Stream Music Festival" co-produced by Southern Entertainment.
