Explorer Six - 6 Day Tour of Tasmania
The tour was fantastic. Covered a wide variety of locations in Tasmania with a good range of walks and other activities for all abilities. The tour guides (Keygan and Misty) were both amazing. Very knowledgeable, fun and always ready to help. It was made clear to us the best options for food and stops to get groceries were planned in to the trip. I would highly recommend the tour and look forward to return go Tas as a result of having been on it.

Great trip. The 3 drivers in Coles Bay where we were stuck because of the fires were outstanding.!!!!!!!!

The BIG 3 Tasmania - Hobart to Launceston
I enjoyed having Audrey as my guide from Hobart to Wineglass Bay. Whereas Graeme, my guide from Wineglass Bay to Launceston is very impatient with his driving. Although Graeme is very knowledgeable, some times he is hard to approach.
Best of Tasmania's Tarkine & Cradle Mountain
Taste of Tasmania
This was a wonderful trip, we saw lots of parks, had lots of fun and learned lots about Tasmania. I would definitely recommend this trip.
Tasmania Hobart & Launceston All-Inclusive Grand 10 Days Touring Package
The trip was very well planned to the smallest detail. Tasmania itself was beyond expectation. I cannot wait to come back. Just one small thing. The tour buses were sometimes tiny and old. Also at least one of the tour guides was talking incessantly for about 10hrs solid. He was a walking encyclopaedia, but sometimes, less is more. But the star of the show was Eli herself, the first face of contact.

Great Itinerary! Fantastic way to tick off seeing the natural beauty of East Coast. Meals where great, actually if anything - there is almost too much food! Fun group, great Guide and Driver - both super helpful and continued to surprise us along the way showing us some secret (or at least not well known) little gems and highlights.
- €100 deposit on some dates Some departure dates offer you the chance to book this tour with a lower deposit.

Super 7 - Seven Day Tour of Tasmania
I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our tour guide, Evan, was a true gem. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the island, especially when it came to finding the best bakeries in town ;) His humor and good mood made even the bus trips between soights or hikes enjoyable. If you're contemplating a trip to Tasmania, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It caters to all needs and activity levels, and you'll consider yourself fortunate if Evan is your guide!
Tassie 5 Highlights
The trip was very well organized by Under Downunder. The Bus drivers/guides went out of their way to make everyone happy. Justin and Keegan were entertaining and knowledgeable. One of the accommodations/hostels had been booked for the tour group only, located in a beautiful location in Bicheno. The other in the CBD of Hobart.

What people love about christmas & new year tours in tasmania.
This tour was absolutely fantastic. We were able to squeeze in and see so much of Tasmania’s natural beauty! Our tour guide Hayden was amazing - cool, calm and knowledgeable! I was overjoyed when he helped us spot some platypus in their natural environment. Whilst on the bus itself he shared heaps of information and fun facts to keep us entertained. There is a lot of early starts - which is totally fair enough since it meant we could enjoy so much of what Tasmania has to offer. There is a lot of walking - but there are many choices of walks to do, so you can chose the level of difficulty in most places and all walks are optional. One of my favourite trips in Australia so far ?
Excellent Larry our guide took very good care of us. Did his best to ensure we all were ok and happy
The three day tour was well organised and everything worked as promised. The only issue was that day three was overloaded not allowing enough time at the Unzoo and Port Arthur, the final visit to Richmond was unnecessary the time would have been spent at the visits earlier in the day. Overall the tour represented value for money and allowed me to see the highlights of Tasmania in a planned and stress free way. .

A Christmas holiday in Tasmania you’ll never forget
Happy holidays don’t just happen, so start planning Christmas 2023 in Tasmania now. From the year’s best markets to a horse-drawn carriage ride with jingle bells, and what could be Australia’s most coveted Christmas Day cruise, we’ve gathered some of the festive season’s ultimate experiences. Be sure to book early!
Christmas cruise to wonderland
Make your holiday unforgettable with a day cruise on the Gordon River, where the mirror-like reflections of sky and lush, temperate rainforest are genuinely jaw-dropping. Consider treating yourself and your loved ones to the premium viewing and dining options offered by Gordon River Cruises or World Heritage Cruises .
Gordon River Cruises has a tour on Christmas Day, when their usual feast goes next level with the chef on hand to carve festive favourites like roast turkey and ham. It’s never too early to book the 25 December cruise, which is usually sold out by mid-year.
Jingle all the way
Taking a tour of Hobart’s historic heart with Heritage Horse-Drawn Carriages is a special experience any time of year, but leading up to Christmas it’s even more magical. Their newly but very traditionally hand-built shiny black carriage with crimson detailing and upholstery looks better than ever dressed in festive finery. That includes authentic American jingle bells, which chime merrily with every step of the two handsome horses drawing you through the streets like royalty.
Forage and feast
Foodies love a foraging tour, but with Sirocco South it becomes an indulgent gourmet experience with a five-course lunch – including matched wines introduced by a local expert no less.
After foraging for native foods and wild cousins of more familiar imported ones, step across to a seaside marquee for a meal prepared by your guide-chef. Just-found ingredients like wild greens are on the menu, as well as the best local produce. For December’s tours, including some just before Christmas, abalone harvested by Aboriginal fishers is a highlight.
Tasmanian Holiday markets
There’s no better time to hit Tasmania’s markets than in the lead-up to Christmas. This peak period means more stalls offering more amazing food, drinks, gifts and souvenirs, plus cheery holiday decorations and entertainment too.
Look beyond the iconic Harvest Launceston and Salamanca Market . Others include Hobart’s Twilight Market and Farm Gate Market , and great regional options in places like Bream Creek and the heritage town of Evandale (this Sunday favourite has pony rides!). There are also December pop-ups like the Tassie Makers Market , and historic Narryna house’s annual Christmas Spirit Market showcasing Tasmanian distilleries.
Ready to set sail on your next adventure?
Lavender fields forever
The world’s largest privately owned lavender farm becomes a divinely scented purple vision for two months each year, with Christmas usually peak season at Bridestowe . Feast your senses, get the perfect photo of row upon curved row of lavandula angustifolia stretching to the hills, then relax in the indoor-outdoor cafe. Lavender adds extra joy to many menu items, including ice-cream. The shop has Christmas gifts galore, from lavender-infused honey and jams to plush mauve teddy bears.
More festive favourites
Join the locals at popular annual events like Spreyton Cider Co’s Christmas Eve Music Festival . It’s a big day of traditional and contemporary ciders, apple juice, food stalls and vans, live music and fun for kids, like face painting and a farm-animal nursery.
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra ’s much-loved mid-December Christmas concert always offers an uplifting program of festive music, including traditional carols led by the TSO Chorus. The audience is warmly welcomed to join in on the most crowd-pleasing songs – it’s your chance to say you sang with one of Australia’s top orchestras!

The holiday to Tasmania has been and gone, and my wife and I just want you to know that we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The package that you put together worked a treat and everything worked like clockwork. Thank you for your meticulous work in booking everything for us.
Hi Ben, Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that our trip was absolutely fantastic! We got back to Brisbane late Friday and can’t stop talking about it and looking at the over 1,200 photos I took! Thanks again for organising everything. It was wonderful!
Hi Zuleika, we just wanted to send our thanks to you now that we have returned from our trip to Tasmania. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of weeks. The scenery was fantastic, the experiences you booked for us were really enjoyable and we didn’t experience any problems. Again, thank you so much for organising our trip.
Hi Talise, I just want to thank-you and the Tasmanian Vacations team for organising our Tassie holiday earlier this month. It went off without a hitch. The hotels and B&B were great. So was the cruise and railway journey. And the rental car. At every place, the staff were thoroughly professional and friendly, like nearly every local we met. We'll be back.
Hi Talise, We just wanted to thank you for organising the accommodation and dinners for our trip last weekend. It was a fantastic 5 days and everything went smoothly!
Hi Caitlyn, Just a note to say how happy we were on our all too brief visit. The heritage accomodation was lovely, the staff were helpful and answered our every need. Congratulations on a great job, two octogenarians who thought they had seen all, greatly impressed.
A big thank you for arranging our Tasmanian holiday. Everything went very smoothly so we had a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday. The accommodations were superb and we did so enjoy the local food and wines. Each region had highlights of their own but have to say our last two nights in Hobart at the Henry Jones were the icing on the cake for the whole trip. Thanks again for your organisation, we would recommend Tasmania as a destination and definitely recommend you to do the organising.
Talise, just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time in Tasmania. It was a truly brilliant holiday for us both. Everything you arranged went smoothly and we were happy with all the locations and accommodation you selected and recommended. We particularly loved the day trip to Josef Chromy in Launceston and the day cruise on the Gordon River. Our accommodation in Hobart was perfect as it was so close to the markets and Mona ferry. We will be sure to recommend your services to friends and family. Thank you so much for everything.
Dear Talise, thank you very much for helping us organise our Tasmanian vacation. We had an amazing time. Our highlights would have to include the national parks Apsley Gorge, Wineglass Bay, Montezuma Falls and the Wombats at Cradle Mountain. Attractions wise we loved the Bicheno Penguin Tour, Seahorse World, Platypus House (the echidna experience was brilliant), Cataract Gorge Chairlift, and Devils@Cradle (we viewed a night time feeding). We had a fabulous holiday and appreciate your help with organising our itinerary.
Thank you very much for your time for putting together our trip to Tasmania. You have done a marvellous job and we enjoyed our accommodation that you organised for us. We had a great time in Tasmania, with great weather. Once again THANK YOU.
Brenda and myself would like to thank Tasmanian Vacations for the great way the organised our recent trip to Tasmania. Every aspect went extremely well making our holiday not good but GREAT.
Caitlyn, we are now back home again following a wonderful trip to Flinders Island. We were more than impressed with Island Quarters and the way that Roweena looked after us. The unit itself is really nice and the location of course was perfect, being only a few metres away from everything in Whitemark and being so close to the beach. We look forward to using Tas Vacations again.
Talise, thank you for organising a wonderful trip (only one day of rain!). The accommodation was great - our favourite being Gardenia House. Our favourite place was Stanley and the Bruny Island trip was a treat. We will be back to do more on the East Coast.
Kim, we really wanted to let you know how impressed we were with all of the accommodation and tours that you booked for us. The standard was great – stand outs for us were the Corinna Wilderness Experience and the Oyster Catcher Villa at Bruny Island. There were no problems anywhere with our bookings and we were very impressed with the friendliness of staff. We wanted to thank you for organising the trip for us.
Caitlyn, I write to express our appreciation for your arranging the 'ground' bookings for our tour of the State. Your expertise in interpreting our needs led to a great experience for us. We enjoyed all the accommodation and tours on the itinerary. Everything worked well in terms of location, time and distance.
Caitlyn was fantastic in arranging our Tasmanian holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for her to arrange and even the changes we asked her to make. We had no issues on our Tasmanian holiday. A beautiful and friendly place to visit and I certainly hope to go back one day to see what I couldn't fit in this time.
I was impressed with how Talise had looked after my alterations to original plans and the speed that she was able to resolve the alterations. Thank you Talise. My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
I just wanted to reach out and thank Zuleika very much for the most wonderful holiday. We had such a great time travelling around Tassie and we are in awe of how beautiful the scenery is as well as the food and people. We will certainly be back as 10 days was not even close enough to feeling satisfied. I will be in touch later this year for stage 2 adventures. Thanks again for everything.
It was absolutely fantastic!!. Everything from the car pickup and drop off, to all the different accommodations. It went seamlessly and we both had the best time. The choices you made for us were amazing and we loved every minute of our time in Tasmania thanks to your work and expertise.
Karen and her team were excellent. They know Tasmania and were quick to make helpful suggestions. We would have no hesitation using Tasmanian Vacations again or recommending them to friends.
Jess our consultant was amazing pulling our holiday together so quickly. It was a fabulous trip!
Booking through Tasmanian Vacations helped make our trip to Tasmania a very special one - from the ease of car hire, national park pass & brilliant accommodation - everything was terrific. This allowed us to have a very enjoyable holiday that, had we tried to book this ourselves, may not have been possible. Thank you, Tasmanian Vacations for your efforts!
The accommodation provided was wonderful, and we enjoyed the whole experience. Have recommended your company to family and friends.
Zuleika was fantastic and helped me through the planning process. So simple and easy.
Hi Sophie, we wanted to thank you for organising our wonderful Tasmanian holiday! We just got back last week and are still buzzing from how fantastic it was. All the places you chose for us were varied and interesting with superb accommodation. We wanted to let you know what a great job you did. We will recommend you to all our friends.
It was absolutely fantastic!
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, experiencing so much beauty in this part of Australia.
From our initial enquiry we were blown away by the help provided by Ben and Jess. They certainly made our trip run smoothly and did all the thinking for us. We had a fabulous 9 days and are recommending Tasmanian Vacations to all our friends. You could not do it better yourself.
Just wanted to say we have returned from our stay down at Tassie and it was amazing. Thank you for putting all that together. It was so easy and stress free.
Had a fantastic holiday in Tasmania. Everything went smoothly starting from booking, then car hire and accomodation. The Coal River Farm voucher set us up with delicious treats and a wonderful lunch to begin our Tassie adventure
Many thanks to Ben for his help. It was a last-minute trip and Ben was very patient and helpful.

Testimonials.
This was a great tour and made exceptional by our guide/driver Morgan who has a vast knowledge of Tasmania & it's history & was engaged and caring with our group. I would highly recommend Fun Tassie Tours to anyone. We met 2 other Fun Tassie coaches & their guide/drivers who were friendly, particularly 'Santa Claus' I think his name is Dean. Thanks Morgan for an unforgettable tour & sharing Tasmania's history as I am a lover of history.
Well where do you start, this tour is the best thing we could have done to see as much as possible in a short time frame. Everything was very well organised, meals, accommodation, walks, pit stops and free time in each location. Big thank you to Dean and the occasional meet ups with Morgan. Both full of knowledge off Tasmania, history, fauna and to present day. We learnt so much. Totally enjoyed every moment off this tour. Big 👍 for Dean who made this tour so memorable and special. Thank you

Tasmania Tours & Holidays
With a rich Aboriginal culture dating back more than 35,000 years, it's no surprise Tasmania is one of Australia’s most treasured destinations.
This beautiful island state turns heads thanks to its thriving gallery and gastronomy scene, plus its bounty of natural wonders, like Bruny Island . Boasting some of Australia’ s finest beaches, mistiest mountaintops, loneliest patches of wilderness and most elusive animals, Tasmania is a nature lover’s wonderland. It also happens to be the only place in Australia where you can witness the spectacular Aurora Australis, the Southern Hemisphere’s answer to the northern lights.

Visiting Mount Field National Park is a humbling experience, not only for the fact it’s part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, but also because it’s home to some of the tallest eucalypts and flowering plants on Earth. Wander amid these giants to reach Russell Falls – take a deep breath; you’re officially on holiday. Records continue to be broken at Lake St. Clair, the deepest freshwater Lake in Australia, before you arrive in Strahan, gateway to World Heritage listed Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.
Day 3 Strahan
The inky waters of the Gordon River and Macquarie Harbour – given their colour by amber button-grass tannins – are as eery as they are beautiful, the mirror-like surface only broken by your Gordon River chariot as you cruise through Hells Gates, the treacherous entrance to the harbour before returning to Sarah Island. It’s hard to reconcile the beauty of this part of the state with its grim history as a penal colony; a place where convicts would fell Huon pines for boat building. Disembark at Heritage Landing to view one of these 500-year-old majestic trees. Safely back on dry land, it's soon time to discover 'The Ship That Never Was', the dramatic and hilarious true story of the Great Escape from Sarah Island! You'll see it performed live by a group of theatre professionals.
Day 4 Strahan - Cradle Mountain - Burnie
Today your journey reaches new heights – quite literally with a visit to the 1,545-metre Cradle Mountain, your backdrop as you explore Dove Lake on your Cradle Mountain tour, the wild alpine moorlands here a natural magnet for lovers of the wilderness. The spectacular and pristine wilderness of Cradle Mountain is home to the mysterious and secretive Tasmanian Devil. You’ll love the next adventure today, a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. A Day Keeper at Devils @ Cradle will lead you through the sanctuary and provide you with a thorough insight into its operation. When joining this tour you will be directly supporting these animals and threatened species conservation. Leave the Central Highlands after an uplifting day and head towards the scenic north-west coast for your overnight stay.
Day 5 Burnie - Launceston
Table Cape is by far Wynyard's most remarkable natural wonder, at 180 metres high, 'The Cape' - as locals refer to it - offers spectacular views of Tasmania's coastline. As you drive to the top of the remains of a 12-million-year-old volcano you'll reach Table Cape lookout where, on a clear day, you can see mountain ranges over 175 kilometres away. If there’s a town with a cuter name than Penguin, we’re yet to find it. Locals embrace its appeal – there are penguin sculptures at every turn, including one measuring over 3 metres tall. Your journey along the northwest coast also passes through Ulverstone and Sheffield, The Town of Murals, boasting over 100 large paintings depicting the area’s rich history and local characters. All this exploring builds an appetite. Refuel at Ashgrove Tasmanian Farm, where happy cows contribute to award-winning cheeses – everything from cheddar and red Leicester to creamy Tasmanian blue. For lovers of sweeter delights, why not treat yourself to a delicious local made ice cream?
Day 6 Launceston
There are few places in the world where you can leave the city behind and within minutes be surrounded by nature. Launceston is one. Blink and you’re at Cataract Gorge, a yawning chasm carved by ancient rivers. This rare natural phenomenon unites bushland with neat Victorian gardens, replete with ferns and exotic plants. Get a different perspective of the green cavern on the optional scenic chairlift, zipping you over the water to a lofty lookout. We wouldn’t blame you for lingering here, or perhaps taking a cruise along the river. The choice is yours.
Day 7 Launceston - Bicheno
You’ll smell Bridestowe before you see it, this enormous lavender farm perfuming the Tasmanian countryside. The flowers grown here aren’t just used in fragrances – they’re also infused into ice-cream, teas and jams. It’s a tasty entrée to the Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, sculpted into World War One soldiers. Little penguins come out to play in Bicheno; sign up to spot them after dark as they waddle to shore from the water.
Day 8 Bicheno - Hobart
The colours at Freycinet National Park are so vivid you’ll think someone has taken the glasses off your nose and cleaned them for the first time: The patchwork of ocean blues that lap Coles Bay. The dramatic pink granite cliffs. There’s a reason why the peninsula stars on postcards. The other place on postcards is Richmond, its grand 1820s Georgian buildings today home to bijou boutiques, galleries and cafés that appear to be lost in time. Your last stop for the day is to the shores of the Derwent River where local palawa will welcome you to country and show off some local bush tucker.
Day 9 Port Arthur Historic Site
The Isle of the Dead, Devil’s Kitchen, Blowhole… the attractions at and around Port Arthur nod to the region’s notoriously grim history. This is the best-preserved convict site in Australia, and among the most significant convict-era destinations worldwide. The stories these walls could tell.
Day 10 Farewell from Hobart
It took early explorers months to circumnavigate Tasmania. You’ve done it in 10 days. What a wild ride.
