  4. The Trip (1967)

winner55 24 February 2009. This is a film where the conflicting intents of the creative agents behind it really jar the viewer's sensibilities. Fonda, Hopper, and Nicholson wanted to make an arty film favorably depicting an acid trip (they would explore this more fully - and more maturely - in "Easy Rider").

  5. The Trip 1967, directed by Roger Corman

The Trip, a definitive commercial for acid scripted by Jack Nicholson, is in contrast boundlessly optimistic. Its advertising director hero, Fonda, takes a trip with no retribution at all: no ...

  7. ‎The Trip (1967) directed by Roger Corman • Reviews, film

The Trip as written by Jack Nicholson and directed by Roger Corman might be the most authentic point-by-point recreation of what it is like to take LSD. Peter Fonda is getting divorced which is naturally a bummer, so he goes over to Dennis Hopper's house to drop acid while Bruce Dern watches over him. I want Bruce Dern to be my once and future ...

  11. The Trip (1967)

The Trip is a genuine one of a kind. Director Roger Corman had just had a big hit with his biker film The Wild Angels (1966) and The Trip was an attempt to further exploit the youth counter-culture market he had stumbled onto. Roger Corman was not the originator of the LSD film but The Trip was the most high profile in the brief fad for LSD films during the late 1960s.

  16. ‎The Trip (1967) directed by Shamus Culhane • Reviews, film + cast

Very much a product of it's era from the title down - though, rest assured, despite being released in 1967 the 'Trip' referred to here is a very literal one - it's minimalist childlike designs and suitably groovy jazz score from Winston Sharples (Mr. 'Skiddle Diddle Dee' himself!) make it a rather charming little film regardless.

  19. Blu-Ray Review

The film was refused classification four times in 1967, 1971, 1980 and 1988 in the UK. This was mostly down to the perceived pro-drug message of the film which is ludicrous to anybody who watches the film now and even in the '80s notes they admit it was "dated" but still considered a film which might inspire people to take the drug.
