You may complain that your built-in bathroom is tiny, but there are some RV models out there that do not include a bathroom in their floor plans. Everything is done outside or in a shared setting. That may be something to complain about.

The size of your bathroom will depend on the design of your trailer or RV. If you can’t afford a Class A, you may be doing some gymnastics just to stay clean and not bang your head. One bathroom measures only 22 by 38 inches with a height of only 5 feet 10 inches.

To learn about the sizes of different bathrooms in different RV models, just continue to read our article. It explores this issue so that you may be prepared to face what is coming. RV bathrooms are rarely fit for a king.

What are The Dimensions of an RV Bathroom?

What-are-The-Dimensions-of-an-RV-Bathroom

This is a good question, and the best answer will be... it depends. There are so many different models and floor plans out there that the size of your bathroom will depend on if you are buying a class A, B, C, a 5th wheel trailer, or a travel trailer.

One class B bathroom will measure 32 by 24 inches, but the owner wants a little space when they are using it. Then it will depend on if you want a dry or a wet bath. The latter option is where everything gets wet when you shower.

The former option is where you have a separate space for your shower, and the door closes, keeping everything else dry. The class A RV bathroom size will be a lot larger, and some, if you have the money, can be quite luxurious. You just have to check the floor plans before you buy.

RV Bathroom Layout Options

There are different layout options, and they all depend on the floor plan offered by the RV maker. For example, the Class B RVs are the rigs where you find the wet baths most often.

There is just one little room for everything, and it can get a bit cramped. These wet baths are also found in pop-up campers, teardrop trailers, and truck campers. When you go larger and order a Class C A or larger travel or 5th wheel trailer, then you may get the separate shower stall that has a door.

What makes bathroom layouts really interesting is that the overall room may be rectangular, but the fixtures may come with some fascinating angles. This is done, so you get the maximum convenience when you want to get clean.

Since there are many floor plans available, your bathroom layout will depend on the manufacturer and where they decide to place the bathroom.

RV Wet Bath Dimensions

Different owners have measured their bathrooms, and sometimes the RV walls dictate the size of the bathroom. For example, one RV has curved walls, and there are at least 3 different dimensions inside. One spot is 29 by 38, the next spot is 22 by 38, and the final spot is 18 by 21 inches.

Another owner measured his, and he was a bit luckier. His bathroom dimensions were 51 by 31 at the floor, 51 by 30 at the waist, and 50 by 29 at the head, with the shower pan measuring 31 by 31 inches in size.

As you can see, the bathroom is not usually the place where you will get a lot of living space to be clean. Your measurements will differ depending on what type of RV you buy and how its walls are designed.

How Big is an RV Shower?

How-Big-is-an-RV-Shower

Unfortunately, there is no standard dimension for any bathroom in any RV. The size is purely up to the manufacturer’s whims, and those can change from model to model. The best way to get your shower size is for you to grab a tape measure and measure it yourself.

With no standard size, there are no right or wrong bathroom dimensions. You get what you get when you order your RV. Be grateful that you are getting a bathroom as there are many RVs or trailers out there that are purposefully designed not to include one. The standard versions of the Scamp trailers serve as a prime example of this.

Then the size of your shower will depend on if you have a wet or dry bath. With the former, the shower is the size of the complete bathroom. With the latter, you get a separate area with a door but not much more space.

Standard RV Shower Dimensions

As we just reported, there is no standard bathroom size for any RV model. Each series may come with the same size bathroom, and you can call that the standard but that would only apply for that series and no other RV in the same class.

One company has listened to its customers about the size of their bathroom in their class B series. The customer complained that it was too small, so the company added 2 more inches to the bathroom size.

However, the space you gain in those smaller RVs for the bathroom is less space for something else. When you are working with limited space, there is only so much room that can be given to the bathroom.

Then some only have room for a composting toilet, not a regular one, and you get more room inside by slipping that toilet into a shelf.

Largest RV Shower Size

The largest bathroom you will find outside of a custom-made RV will be the Jayco Pinnacle and Seismic models. These two options have their bathrooms measure 1710 square inches. It is just 10 square inches over the next RV in line.

The dimensions run 30 by 57 inches, and the Newmar King Aire comes close with a 50 by 34-inch size. Palomino SolAire Ultra Lite travel trailer has a shower that reaches 30 by 48 inches, while the Winnebago Horizon 42O’ bathroom is 31 by 41 inches.

The 5th largest shower is given to the Newmar Bay Star Sport, and its shower is 36 by 36 inches. Even though those dimensions may sound small compared to a traditional home bathroom, they are large for RVs. Of course, if you are a smaller person, these may still seem like huge bathrooms.

Small RV Shower Size

Small-RV-Shower-Size

Small is very relative. Even a huge RV shower and bathroom can seem small to someone over 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 300 pounds or more. But for small showers, you will find that there is more of a consistency among RV models.

Generally, you are looking at 24 by 30 inches, with some going as high as 26 by 31 inches in size. Others are not so lucky and get a smaller area to shower in. If you are in a Class B, truck camper and a teardrop trailer, the size may be even smaller.

Some wet baths measure 36 by 24 inches in size, giving the larger person more hope that they can have a comfortable time showering. Again, before you start complaining about the small showers in some RVs, we need to remind you that some people have purposefully bought trailers without showers and bathrooms.

RV Shower Toilet Combo Size

These are called wet baths, and they are usually found in the smaller RV models. Class Bs, truck campers, pop-ups, and teardrop trailers, and similar smaller-sized RVs have this option. Unfortunately, their size is very close, if not the same as the showers we just reported on.

Do not expect to get a lot of elbow room when it comes to wet baths. You will be lucky enough to be able to turn around, let alone bend over in some of these smaller wet baths. There may be larger wet baths available.

It will depend n the size and class of your RV. If you can afford it, go larger in size, so you get more room when you need it most.

Standard RV Shower Curtain Size

While these products come in different sizes, we saw a few that were all 47 by 64 inches, with others measuring around 36 by 72 inches in size. These are all shower curtains that are made specifically for RVs.

If you hunt around, you should find some smaller or even bigger sizes, but 47 by 64 seems to be the most popular. Whether it is the standard or not remains to be seen. Because of the different RV shower sizes in dry baths, you may not find a standard-sized RV shower curtain.

If you don’t, you can always modify a traditional home shower curtain to fit your RV shower area. If you are good at sewing, you can adapt one fairly easy to meet your RV shower needs and save money too.

RV Shower Drain Size

RV-Shower-Drain-Size

Like the showers they are made for, you can find a drain in a variety of sizes. Some will fit 1 7/8 to 2 1/4 inch openings, and others will 1 inch in size. Again, it will depend on the size of your shower pan that determines the size of your shower drain.

Then some people say that the shower pan is the drain, and they give the overall measurements of 31 by 31 inches or more. To find the drain that will fit your RV shower, measure it and then check out the sizes at Amazon.

You do not have to buy there, but you can get an idea of style, design, and size. That will help you when you go shopping at Home Depot or Lowes.

RV Shower Faucet Size

There seems to be more of a standard size when it comes to RV shower faucets and knobs. The holes are generally all the same size in different RVs, and the control knobs seem to measure about 4 inches. But then, when you enter the world of RVs, expect nothing to be the same when you change brands.

The size of faucets can be different in different showers simply because you are not always given a lot of space. If the shower area is larger, then expect to find larger faucets. If it is smaller, expect to see some that are smaller.

It is hard to be specific. There are so many different brands that do different things even when they are producing different model series with different floor plans.

RV Shower Pan Size

If you are looking for a different answer than the word ‘depends’, you are out of luck. Some people have measured theirs and found it quite small, roughly 19 by 21 inches in size.

Others have also measured, and theirs are a little bit larger, sometimes going 31 by 31 and others still larger at 24 by 36. One person was lucky to have a shower that was 51 inches across, so he had a larger shower pan.

The best thing we can say here is if you are not sure what size of shower pan you want, measure out a space in your home and step into it. If you are comfortable, that should be about the size you are looking for when you go RV shopping.

One thing is for sure; the pan is not going to be larger than the shower dimensions.

RV Shower Hose Thread Size

RV-Shower-Hose-Thread-Size

These sizes can range as well, and the one you get will depend on the size of hose the RV maker decides to use. The thread sizes can go from 1/2 inch up to 13/16ths of an inch, but that may not be the only sizes available.

There may also be a 3/8 inch size and smaller. It will depend on how cheap the manufacturer decided to go. If the thread size is important to you and your buying decision, then bring a tape measure along when you go shopping. There is no harm in making sure the thread size is where you want it to be.

Look at the specs sheet as well to see if the thread sizes are listed there. That will save you a little time and trouble.

RV Bathroom Door Size

You will not get the same size of the bathroom door as you would at home when you go small. Be lucky if you have a 12-inch opening to enter your bathroom in an RV. Of course, the class A RVs will have larger bathroom doors simply because they have more space.

The size of the door opening will only be as large as the door can swing inside or outside, which may be a very good opening or a tiny one. If the wet bath measures 31 inches, do not expect the door to be that wide. There may not be 31 inches for it to swing open fully.

Again, the size and floor plan of your RV will determine the size of the bathroom door.

RV Outdoor Shower Hose Size

There does seem to be a standard shower hose size in the bathroom. That hose measures 60 inches, giving you lots of room to maneuver. An outdoor hose can be 3/8 thread size and range from approx. 6 to 10 feet long. Some garden hoses hit 25 feet, and they can be used for a shower hose.

Smaller ones may be 63 inches in size, giving you enough space to shower properly. You can check the lengths at any RV or home improvement store near you.

Which Travel Trailer Has the Largest Shower?

Which-Travel-Trailer-Has-the-Largest-Shower

In one list we found, the largest shower size went to the Jayco Flight Bungalow 40FBTS 2019. Unfortunately, that list did not mention the dimensions of the shower. Nor did it mention the size for the runner-up, the Forest River Flagstaff Super Lite 26RBWS.

There may be others that will rival the size of these two options, but you may have to look through various travel trailers to find them. One thing is for sure; the Scamp travel trailers will not compete as their bathrooms and showers are pretty small if they have those facilities.

Some Final Words

Size does matter when it comes to RVs. Not everything can be like living in a traditional home. The reason for that is because RVs come with minimal space. Everything inside needs to have the right amount of room if you will enjoy your time in your RV.

Unfortunately, in most cases, small is the operative word, and you may have to make some sacrifices when you find the RV you like the most. If you have the money, you can avoid that issue, but not everyone wants to drive a Class A RV.

Having an RV is an amazing way to explore, adventure and find some freedom. And while this type of travel can be glamorous and convenient, there are some messier elements you’ll need to be aware of—specifically when it comes to your RV’s bathroom and plumbing systems.

Here we’ve prepared a list of important details and crucial steps to help avoid common RV bathroom mishaps and to keep your plumbing system flowing properly. It may not be the most exciting part of RV life, but it’s vital to ensure that you have a safe and successful trip.

Let’s Talk About Tanks

In an RV, you don’t have the luxury of being able to flush the toilet and never thinking about where the waste will go. A hugely important part of RVing is knowing your tank capacity. The size of your holding tank will vary depending on the size of your RV, but most tanks can hold anywhere from 20 to 100 gallons. Not sure what size your tank is? Sometimes the holding capacity will be listed directly on the tank itself. If not, you can usually find it in your owner’s manual.

Most RVs have three different tanks:

Also called clean water or potable water, this tank will supply water to your sink, shower and toilet.

This tank will gather all of the dirty water that drains from your sink and shower.

This tank collects all of the waste and sewage from your toilet. *In some RVs, all of the water from your bathroom (including the sink and shower) will drain into the black water tank as well.

Toilets, Showers and the Lines That Connect Them

Transitioning to a RV toilet can take some getting used to. There’s the toilet itself, the foot pedal to flush and, of course, the actual draining of the tanks. Below is a list of simple steps and considerations to help prevent any major bathroom issues.

Your RV toilet and plumbing systems are sensitive, so the 2-ply toilet paper that you use at home won’t work in your rig. To decrease your chances of clogged toilets and malfunctioning tank sensors, we recommend using 1-ply toilet paper. Scott® 1000 toilet paper is a great option and safe on septic tanks. And remember—never, ever flush sanitary products or wet wipes down your RV’s toilet.

To help prevent buildup, we highly recommend letting your grey tank get at least two-thirds of the way full before emptying it. Additionally, never let your black water tank get completely empty, as sewage can collect on the bottom and create some bad odors. There are septic-safe cleaning solutions and treatments you can add to your black and grey tanks to help with odor as well (see below).

It’s important to remember that your RV toilet should not be cleaned like a regular toilet. Using harsh chemicals can actually break down the seals within your plumbing system, leading to costly damages. One of my favorite ways to keep our RV toilet clean is simply using a mixture of hot water and Dawn dish soap. Before every trip, we fill our toilet through the external flush system and add a safe, gentle cleaning solution to our black water tank. Thetford is a great brand for both deodorizing and cleaning RV holding tanks.

If you’re like us, then you like to take your RV to warm, sunny climates. But sometimes, you’ll find yourself in colder temperatures, so it’s imperative that you take the necessary precautions to ensure that your water lines don’t freeze. If you find yourself in an area with cold temperatures, here are some tips:

Skirt Your RV. Putting a skirt around the outside of your unit is a great way to keep the underbelly warm—including the pipes and hoses—and protected from the elements.

Heated Hoses. Some plumbing and bathroom hoses come equipped with a heat strip that runs along the side of the hose. This strip can be plugged into a standard 110-volt electrical connection and will prevent the water and fluids from freezing.

Water Drain-Down System. These systems help your RV’s pipes drain faster and more conveniently. We highly recommend Lippert’s Floë Integrated Drain-Down System .

Disconnect and Drain. This might sound simple but it’s absolutely mandatory—when the temperature drops below freezing, disconnect your outdoor hoses and drain all sitting water.

Bathroom Maintenance

Fixing things that are broken is important, but there are plenty of preventative measures you can take to help eliminate potential issues, especially when it comes to your RV’s bathroom and plumbing systems. Proper cleaning and maintenance is key here, so we’ve included a list of preventative measures to add to your check-list.

Make a point to regularly check all of the seals in your shower, toilet and sinks. If you notice any cracks or damage, replace the seals immediately. You can also use a flexible kitchen and bath silicone gel (available at most hardware stores) to help fill and patch any cracks.

Your RV tanks are built to help keep water and waste flowing in one direction. But if you fill your black tank to the maximum capacity, there’s a good chance the sewage will start to back-up, causing breaks and leaks between the tank’s seals.

Do you know how much water weighs? If you’re driving around with a full, 40-gallon freshwater tank, that’s an additional 334 pounds in your RV! If you’re not mindful of your RV’s total weight, the added weight from water and fluids can cause a slew of issues, including detached tanks and extra swaying if you’re towing.

You’d be amazed at how quickly things like rust and calcium deposits can build up in your pipes and water lines. Regularly check the end of your water systems by detaching the end of your faucets. This will allow you to clean the screens and improve water pressure.

There are two critical bathroom maintenance items we suggest adding to your RV: a water filtration system and a water pressure regulator. These two items will help ensure that you have clean, safe water and that you maximize the amount of water you’re using. The filtration system will also help keep harmful sediments out of your lines, and the pressure regulator will monitor the amount of water flowing through your pipes to prevent any bursting.

Try to keep your bathroom clean while you’re using it. This includes wiping things down and keeping your vents open to prevent mold and mildew. After every trip, we also recommend giving your bathroom a nice, deep clean, including the sinks, faucets, floors, and shower walls. Many RV owners actually use dryer sheets to clean their showers—they are strong enough to scrub soap scum and build up but won’t damage any of your bathroom surfaces.

Regardless if you’re a full-time RVer or a weekend warrior, the reality is that you have to get comfortable with your RV’s systems—both inside and out. A well-maintained bathroom and plumbing system will help ensure that you have a fun, easy and clean RV experience.

12 Best Small Travel Trailers with Bathrooms

Look, there are plenty of reasons not to want a large RV. Smaller models, such as small travel trailers, often mean significant savings. Not only will your RV no cost the equivalent of buying another house when you choose smaller travel trailers, but you can also expect better gas mileage, an easier time finding parking spaces, and plenty of other advantages beside—all while still having greater comfort than, say, tent camping.

So there’s plenty to recommend getting yourself a small travel trailer if you’re looking into recreational camping vehicles. One of the biggest drawbacks, however, is that many of them, in trying to make the most of their smaller space, skip including a bathroom.

In which case your bathroom situation is the same as it would be if you were tent camping. Let’s be real: Is that what you are looking for in a recreational vehicle?

If you’re like us, probably not.

Fortunately, however, there are an increasing number of small travel trailers that come with a bathroom. Let’s look at some of the best, shall we?

Table of Contents

Airstream Sport (2018)

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Airstream is one of the oldest and most trusted recreational vehicle and camper brands with good reason, and the most recent versions of the Sport travel trailer demonstrate just why that is. Loaded with great features and name brand elegance, the Sport is one of our favorite small travel trailers.

Let’s start with the bathroom, which might be our favorite of all the bathrooms highlighted here. Not only does it have separate roof fan and venting, but the toilet is porcelain (unlike the heavy plastics more common in small travel trailers), the bathroom faucet genuine Moen, and the sink Lavy. The shower comes with a great showerhead, a retractable clothesline (so you can dry wet clothes items in the shower when you aren’t using it), and a towel bar. The blackwater tank is external to the trailer, too, so should your toilet water get smelly, it won’t be a problem inside the travel trailer.

And the rest of the travel trailer is loaded with similarly classy, high-end features, including great appliances (a convection oven or more standard microwave, refrigerator, and foldable two-burner cooktop), a cutting board sink cover, an Ultraleather dinette set, Moen faucet, LED HD TV and JVC stereo, blackout shades for the panoramic front windows, auxiliary heating and air conditioning, and a great fan for when you simply need air rotation. Additionally, those windows are tempered and tinted, the TV comes with cable hookups, the roof is a white aluminum that helps keep temperatures moderate, and a ZipDee patio awning gives extra outdoor shade when you want it. Similarly, there’s an exterior shower option with both cold and hot water. Loaded with such features, it’s no wonder this is one of our favorite small travel trailers!

Barefoot Caravans

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Barefoot Caravans is a special travel trailer because of the degree to which it can be customized. Designed in the United Kingdom, they will ship to the United States, and if customization is something you’re interested in, it may well be worth the extra fees. For instance, all of the following can be customized:

  • Bathroom walls
  • Kitchen walls
  • Curtains (which can be custom stitched based on your fabric preferences as well)
  • Seat upholstery (which comes in several different fabric or vinyl options)
  • The radio (a Roberts Revival DAB Mini Radio, for those interested in specifics)

Numerous colors are available for each of the above options; for most items, the colors available include duck egg blue, gray, lime green, navy blue, orange, and stone. Additionally, the curvy shape of the Barefoot Caravan makes it incredibly stylistic and modern, and this makes it additionally appealing for some buyers.

Additionally, the feature-laden design includes:

  • Eco-designed and environmentally friendly polycarbonate windows
  • Extra storage space in the form of cupboards and wardrobes
  • Roof lighting
  • Isotherm compressor fridge and a freezer
  • L-shaped seating that converts into a spacious bed

And then there’s the bathroom, which comes with a 30-liter onboard water tank and a Truma Combi hot water system that can run either via electric or gas hookups. Additionally the bathroom includes a Dometic cassette toilet, shower, wash basin, mirror, and cupboard space. Honestly, it’s a nice enough bathroom you may never want to leave!

Casita Travel Trailers Spirit Deluxe Trailer

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

A 17-foot trailer, the Casita Travel Trailers’ Spirit Deluxe Trailer comfortably fits three, making it a great fit for a small family. Not only can the dinette tables be converted into two sleeping areas, that versatility helps you make the most of the limited space. Built with Marine-grade fiberglass, this is the rare travel trailer you can use in any conditions or weather, including winter camping.

Additional nice touches include a 12-volt battery pack, 110-volt exterior outlet, exterior door light, connector hose so you can connect to city water (or campground water supplies), and even a freshwater tank you can lock for better hygiene.

And the bathroom is truly the star of this small travel trailer. Not only is it one of the largest areas of the camper, but the shower space and toilet are separated for optimum privacy, so you and a family member can use the bathroom at the same time. Just as nice, it comes with an industrial strength power fan roof vent and mesh screen windows so you can air out the bathroom as needed.

Storage space is also plentiful, with numerous overhead storage compartments, each of which are carpet-lined, available for stashing gear, equipment, or extra clothing.

Happier Camper HC1

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Like other ultra-mini travel trailers, the HC1 doesn’t come with much. In fact, in order to get a bathroom, you need to order it with a couple of add-ons: the dry flush toilet and road shower, to be precise. But, and this is a big but: For travelers looking for something incredibly portable that can go nearly anywhere and who don’t need a ton of space because they’re minimalists to begin with? The Happier Camper HC1 is pretty much perfect.

Officially, it sleeps up to 5. Unofficially, you’d have to really, really, really like each other in order to sleep 5 in it; we think it’s best for a couple or a small family. Additionally, because it is only 11 feet long and only 1100 pounds dry weight, and comes with off-road friendly tires, it’s great for beach camping, dirt roads, and other backcountry expeditions, which is not something that can be said of very many travel trailers.

So is it ideal that you have to order the bathroom as an add-on? No. But if portability and minimalism are your goals, the HC1 is one of the best bets available. Simply order a dry flush toilet and road shower (and you’ll probably want a privacy/bathroom tent , too) and add on to what the HC1 already offers, which is substantial.

Among those features:

  • At only 1100 lbs dry weight, even many small cars can easily tow it;
  • The 100% double-hull insulated fiberglass shell is incredibly sturdy and, well, insulated;
  • The large rear hatch door makes it easy to load and unload supplies, as do the ample storage spaces scattered throughout the trailer;
  • Panoramic Jalousie windows are great for night skies and views;
  • Solar power is readily available, courtesy the contoured roof panel; and
  • It fits in a single parking space and in most garages.

iCamp Elite

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

At only 14 feet in length and 6 feet 8 inches in height, the iCamp Elite is one of the very smallest travel trailers to include a built-in shower and toilet. In order to fit as much as it does in such a small space, some sacrifices had to be made, of course. For instance, the dinette converts into a bed, and vice-versa, so you can’t have the bed and dinette available to you at the same time. It does come with both an oven and a refrigerator, however, which is rare for such small trailers.

KZ Spree Escape Mini

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

An ultra lightweight travel trailer, the KZ Spree Escape Mini is highly customizable. For instance, it can be ordered in five different color schemes. (Check out their website for more details on each option.)

With that customization comes a range of bathroom options, from a very tight bathroom (in which the toilet and shower are pretty much right on top of each other) all the way up to a full bathroom in which the shower and toilet are much more partitioned.

Additionally, that range of custom options means you can find what works best for you. Some things are pretty consistent regardless of which option you go with, though: Upscale fiberglass exteriors, off-road package options, KZ’s exclusive Aqualon for EXP tent ends. You can expect power awnings, quality queen-sized beds, and a flip up entry step. Additionally, bunk ends are rated for up to 1,100 pounds, and the self-supporting cable system means no support poles with which to mess.

Other features worth considering:

  • Amish-crafted rustic maple cabinets
  • Cable hookup

  • Tinted windows
  • 12V converter w/charger
  • 6-gallon water heater
  • 2-Burner cooktop
  • 4 or 7 cubic foot refrigerator (depending on the options)

Quick Stats for an example model:

  • Weight: ~2,850 lbs
  • Length: 20’9
  • Slide outs: 1 (3 With tent bed models)

Lance 1575 Travel Trailer

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Lance brand campers have a reputation befitting the fact that they’ve been building truck campers and travel trailers for more than 50 years now, and the 1575 more than lives up to that reputation. At less than 2,700 pounds, it’s hardly large, and yet it comes chock full of brilliant touches and features.

About those features? The 1575 includes all of the following and more:

  • An interior key hanger
  • Radius entry door
  • Wall backsplash accompanying the dinette
  • Spacious three-way double door refrigerator with space for up to 5 cubic feet of food
  • Wall thermostat temperature regulation
  • Shades and screens with all windows, which are Thermopane Euro with laminated fiberglass construction
  • Spare tire carrier
  • Three-burner range stainless steel stove
  • Lots of extra storage in compartment doors
  • Separate wastewater and freshwater systems

All those little touches add up to a trailer that feels homey, cozy, and comfortable from the very first moment you step inside. And that’s even before you get to the bathroom, which is one of the best for a trailer this size.

Not only does the bathroom have gorgeous dual pane skylights, making it a wonderful place to visit on a starry night, but the foot pedal-operated toilet’s heavy duty plastic construction makes it both easy to use and easy to clean, and the mirrored medicine cabinet makes it easy to store your toiletries as well.

Scamp 13’ Standard Trailer

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Like the iCamp Elite, Scamp’s 13’ Standard Trailer is a brilliant little travel trailer, making the most of the space available. Coming in two layouts, only one of which includes a bathroom, the 13-foot travel trailer shows some real Minnesotan ingenuity, as the 13-foot bathroom-included version also includes a shower, beds that convert into tables, storage space in the seats, a gas stove with sink, multiple closets, and all sorts of proof that it uses space incredibly well. For instance, the 12-gallon water tank is designed for use with the bathroom (including the shower) and kitchen. Similarly, the Sani Potti toilet can be hooked up to gray water so there’s no risk of contaminating your other water. And other perks of the 13-foot Scamp Trailer include a stove cover, a microwave oven, a front porch light, vinyl flooring and fiberglass cabinets for easy cleaning, a substantially higher number of outlets and lights than many comparably-sized trailers, as well as roof-mounted air conditioning and heating.

Taxa Cricket Camper

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

We love this ultra-mini travel trailer. Only 15 feet and with a width of 6’11” it’s about the size of a full-size truck, and it’s dry weight of 1500 pounds means it’s easily towed. Like a few of the other smallest travel trailers on this list, it doesn’t come with a bathroom, but you can add-on an external shower and portable toilet. (If you choose to do so, we recommend this toilet and this bathroom tent .)

Unlike some of the other ultra-mini travel trailers we love, though, the Cricket Camper is expandable, with a pop-up tent that makes it much roomier when you set up camp. Additionally, it might be the most rugged and badass of all the ultra-mini travel trailers we’ve looked, designed to literally go anywhere you can pull it. And there is an add-on option for an external shower that can come with the camper if you opt to go that route.

Other fantastic features include the exterior storage. Not only are their bumper steps to which you can strap gear externally, there’s also a roof rack system and tongue mounted toolbox so you can take your outdoor playthings with you and make any necessary repairs easily and quickly. As durable as the Cricket Camper is, however, odds are you won’t need that toolbox. Still, having it so easily accessible is plenty nice. Like the Happy Camper HC1, the rear hatch makes loading easy, too.

A 32-inch by 20-inch picture window gives great panoramic views directly from the lounge. Additional storage under the bed is a nice plus, and a pop-up table provides easy lounging space while keeping the cabin from feeling cluttered. The kitchen offers a large counter with a covered sink and 6 large cubbies for prepping, cooking, and storage. The electrical system is top notch, too, with interior LED lighting throughout (including task lighting over the kitchen), Zamp solar inlets (which are pre-wired), and 120V inlets for shore power connection, enough for 3+ days off-grid. Additionally, a tow vehicle connection allows you to recharge the battery while you haul the trailer to your next campsite.

More details:

  • Dry weight: 1500 lbs
  • Length: 15′
  • Slideouts: 0 (But the roof pops up)

Taxa Mantis Trek Camper

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

The Cricket’s larger brother, we love the Mantis Trek for its backcountry and off-grid capabilities. At 19 feet, it’s a bit larger than the Cricket, but still fits in a standard length and height garage, as it folds down to a height of only 6 feet 10 inches. At that size and weight (just more than 3,000 pounds), it’s still quite easy to tow and store, and the NASA-inspired design, integrated electronics and plumbing, and off-grid capacities mean it’s ready for nearly any adventure you can dream up. Like the Cricket, it pops up when set up as your base camp, meaning you have far more room available to you than you might imagine.

The Mantis Trek is designed specifically with off-the-grid use in mind, and as such, is powered by 12-volt batteries and plumbed for propane. That propane allows for a two-burner stove and water heater, with an included Truma Combi furnace for year-round use. Freshwater tank capacity of 20 gallons and a graywater tank capacity of 22 gallons are both great for a travel trailer of this size, and a wet bath is included as a cassette toilet (4 gallon fresh water, 5 gallon waste).

The pop-up roof gives you both more room and increased ventilation, and the queen-sized bed comes with under bed storage. USB charging ports help you keep your gear charged, and the two 20-pound liquid propane tanks mean you can stay fueled up for cooking and hot water. Exterior features are designed with a rugged lifestyle in mind, including a powder-coated steel frame, front stabilizer jacks, powder-coated gravel guards, a spare wheel replete with all-terrain tire, 16 inches of clearance, torsion axle suspension, a solar pre-wired system, a crossbar-included roof rack system for strapping down your outdoor gear and toys, and a large 8 foot patio awning.

Inside the camper shell, nice touches include the birch wood kitchen, replete with plenty of extra storage, LED interior lights (including a reading light), a Dometic 12V 65-liter fridge and freezer combo, a mesh side screen door for increased ventilation, room divider curtains, and more—including the option to switch up your power sources.

The Mantis Trek is designed to run on multiple power schemes. Not only can it run off of two 12-volt deep cycle batteries, it can also run off shore power with a 110-volt converter or a solar system if set up in that way, and the additional propane plumbing is a nice touch, too, as are the electric brakes, single axle, and independent suspension system.

Fresh water capacity is 20 gallons, with a 22-gallon gray water tank and wet bath inside. Also included is a cassette toilet.

  • Dry weight: 3020 lbs
  • Length: 19′
  • Width: 6’10

United Recreational Vehicles iCamp Elite

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

The iCamp Elite is one of the smallest travel trailers on this list, and while it’s short on space, its diminutive size is not short on features. Heavy-duty aluminum tubing, industrial strength styrofoam, and high-gloss fiberglass construction makes this trailer incredibly hardy, and it is one of the few that handles just as well in terrible conditions. It’s also incredibly stylish and sporty.

About that size: If you’re a big person, or need a lot of space, this probably isn’t the travel trailer for you. Ceilings, for instance, top out at five feet eleven inches, and furniture is rounded to fit in tight spaces. If you’re claustrophobic, this isn’t the camper for you.

That lack of space, however, is accounted for by a feature-laden design, in addition to the obvious pluses of reducing your drag (and correspondingly, your fuel usage) compared to more traditionally-sized travel trailers.

Other features include the simple easy of towing such a small trailer, the glossy painted furniture, sweet wallpaper, and an iPod connection for better tunes. And the bathroom itself is one of the larger parts of the trailer, replete with toilet and shower. So if you aren’t claustrophobic, and are looking for easy towing options, look no further. The iCamp Elite is one of the best truly small travel trailers we’ve seen that also includes a bathroom.

A few final tips when looking at small travel trailers

Rent first if at all possible.

It can be hard to know what you want until you’ve spent some time RVing, and that’s especially true if you’re weighing multiple different options. It could entirely be the case that you know you want a small travel trailer with a bathroom but not much more than that, and the list above is lots of information, sure, but that information isn’t the same as experience.

As a result, if you’re considering buying one of the travel trailers above, we strongly recommend you consider trying to rent one if not exactly the same then similar to what you want so that you can try it for a trip or two first. Even the most affordable of small travel trailers are not exactly cheap, and you don’t want to be saddled with an expensive new toy only to find out it’s not actually what you want.

And there are plenty of sites out there that can help you find camping gear, including small travel trailers, to rent. Outdoorsy is one of our favorites.

Ask questions

Similarly, there may be camping groups in your area with which you can connect. Ask questions of members and you may well meet some new friends who will let you try their equipment as you get a sense for what you yourself want from a travel trailer. You may decide you want something bigger than the options listed here—or you may find that something even smaller may work for you. Develop your own camping experiences and let those experiences dictate what you need, and as questions arise, make friends that can help you answer those questions.

The RVing and camping communities are often quite helpful, and as you develop more friends, you’ll be surprised at how much knowledge and wisdom you can pick up in a short period of time simply by being willing to ask good questions.

Travel Trailers Under 3000 lbs Specifications

We looked at a variety of camper floorplans before choosing these 16 lightweight campers for you. In our in-depth review of the current market, we only chose travel trailers with a bathroom and under 3000 lbs (or at most 3,000 pounds of dry weight).

Consider that you will have campers with a dry bath and full dry bath (including a hand basin) , as well as options with a rudimentary but convenient wet bath with only a shower and a toilet . If you are not familiar with the different   types of RV toilets our article tells you all you need to know.

Some of the options on our list of these 16 lightweight campers under 3,000 lbs have one slide-out and bunk beds. However, the majority of the campers in this review are meant for couples or a small group of weekend travelers.

Numerous of these campers also have the benefit of being short , making them simple to move around and store.

The chart below summarizes a brief detail of the weighting and size specifications . In the rest of the article, we highlight the differences between each floorplan, including walkthrough videos and 360 tours. We also review the advantages and disadvantages to help you choose between these amazing travel trailers with a bathroom under 3000 lbs (dry weight).

16 Campers Under 3,000 lbs Dry Weight

To keep the weight absolutely clear, we will refer at all times to 3000 lbs dry weight, also known as the unloaded vehicle weight (UVW). In this way, we will highlight the maximum loading capacity (or CCC, meaning cargo capacity), which, among many floorplans, is a big difference.

As we always mention, if the maximum towing capacity of your vehicle is 3000 lbs, you should not be looking for campers of exactly the maximum of your towing capacity . It is advisable to go no more than 70-80% to have some margin of safety and also do the math to find the right weight camper.

If you need a camper lighter than 3000 lbs , check out the 10 best small pop-up campers on the current market, where you will find small campers under 1500 lbs and as short as 15 feet long when folded.

We have reviewed a number of camper floorplans and have selected these 16 travel trailers under 3000 lbs for you to consider in your search . All of these lightweight campers are equipped with a bathroom , which is extremely advantageous. Some even have full bathrooms , including a hand basin. You’ll find that in this size of RV at only 3,000 lbs or less, the bathroom can be wet or dry, but can also just be a toilet and shower. With no other space available, many floorplans do not include something like a hand basin.

In addition to being lightweight , many of these campers have the advantage of being short and, therefore, easy to maneuver and store .

You’ll see floorplans perfect for couples and others suitable for larger families looking for lightweight travel trailer options with spacious bunkhouses.

160QB camper Under 3000 lbs (dry weight) for Up to 3 People

The 160QB and 170MB floorplans are very similar, and their main difference is based on the bed. The KZRV 160QB travel trailer comes with a fixed queen bed, while the 170MB has a queen Murphy bed with a sofa . Although both travel trailers have the same length (22 feet) and overall dimensions, the 170MB has the advantage of appearing to have a more spacious interior. During the day, you have lunch or supper seated in the booth dinette and then enjoy the comfort of the sofa of the 170MB floorplan . At night, you can easily pull down the queen Murphy bed and rest.

The bathroom in the 170MB is more spacious than the 160QB. However, the best closet is in the 160QB. So, there are floorplans to suit all tastes. Choosing the right one just depends on what you are looking for.

Small RV / Trailers Bathroom Ideas

Posted on Published: February 5, 2024

I’ve got a little bit of a fascination with RV bathrooms. Especially small RV/trailers bathrooms , because I’m intrigued with how to fit in all the things that make a bathroom doable for me… without taking up half the RV.

So in this post I’m going to explore some of the options I’ve seen for a small bathroom; or more accurately, a bathroom in a small RV or trailer.

My ideal RV is small, simply because I have this notion that small means we will be less restricted on where we can go. We can find secluded spots, we’re not going to get hung up on overhanging branches, we can take the last spot in a busy campground because we only need 7 metres instead of 12 (that’s 23 ft and 40 ft for my non-metric friends).

Need small bathroom decor ideas? See these amazing RV bathroom renovations!

But having a small RV means you need to be clever with how it’s designed. So let’s have a look at some of those ideas:

Porta potty in a cupboard

I’m just gonna say right up here, that I hate this idea. Like, really hate it.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by LIGHT TRAVELERS (@lightravelers)

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

I get it though, a porta-potty (chemical toilet) might be the only thing you have room for, and I’m sure it will be fantastic in emergencies.

But I can’t see myself ever pulling out the porta-potty in the middle of the RV, telling my husband to vacate the RV for a few minutes and then having to put the potty back in the cupboard or under the bed or wherever its hidey hole is. The thought of it just makes me feel ick .

Outside shower

If you don’t have a room in your RV for your toilet then you obviously don’t have room for a shower either. So I presume that would mean you either use the campground showers or you have an outdoor set up. I’ve seen some pretty sweet setups too, but I think they’d be for more rugged camping… not the kind of rig you’d set up in a campground methinks?

Solar shower and tent

I see this as being really good for camping, if you’re going to be in one spot for a couple of days. Not really the full timers kind of set up though, huh.

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

This great Aussie invention (I’m trying not to be bias here) is fantastic IMO. The Evershower is a portable shower that you can set up anywhere (inside or outside), it has small footprint (but (plenty of shoulder room) and you can even recycle the water back if you have a limited water supply. The water is pumped via a 12volt water pump and you can also connect a water heater if you wish.

Small RV Trailers Bathroom - this EverShower on Kickstarter is a great idea, but unfortunately their campaign was not fully funded.

Check out all the details over on their website: Evershower.com

Van Showers

These are really clever ideas for hooking up a shower to the rear door of your van. To check out how each of these people have built their showers, just click on the picture.

In a small RV, the wet bath seems to make the most sense. At first I was all annoyed at the idea of having a shower and then if I needed to use the loo there’d be a wet toilet, wet floor and steam. But I managed to get over myself… realising that the wet bath means that you can fit all the things that you need, but in the smallest space. There are some things that you might want to consider when looking at wet baths though.

Large enough to turn around

My husband is 187cm (over 6.14 ft) and I’m 173cm (5.67 ft), so we’re not exactly small people. I think it would be important for us to get into the shower space and see if we can actually move in there. I’ve seen wet baths where it looks like you have to be either sitting on the loo or straddling it in order to get under the water.

Height of the shower head

Also check if the shower head is tall enough. If I have to bend over or contort myself in order to get my hair under the shower head, that’s gonna get old real quick.

Size of the basin

Why do they make a basin that’s so small you can’t get your hands in there to wash them anyway? Like, why?

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

All you can do is get your toothbrush under there to wet it, but it’s in such a tight corner with a medicine cabinet right above it that you can’t get your head in close enough to spit… without getting it on your toes. Really, if there isn’t enough room for a basin they should just leave it out and I’ll use the kitchen sink instead.

But there are some clever features that make it not as bad as I thought…

Toilet paper cover

If the the wet bath doesn’t have this, then I’m just left shaking my head at the nonsense.

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

The fold down sink over the toilet

This is a good way of saving space.

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Expanding Doors

I’ve seen this used in some of the newer Class Bs, where the wet bath door has an extra extension in it so that you can create a bit of elbow space.

Wrap around shower curtain

This will keep the water contained so that you’re not spraying water and soap and shampoo all over the toilet and walls. I like this idea, it’s simple yet effective.

Removable Floor Grate

I’ve see some wet baths that have a wood or bamboo slat floor so that the water can run through and not be pooling at your feet. I think that’s how they work anyway. But what I’d like is if you take the slat floor out, and you stand in the shower floor, have your shower then put the slat floor back, and you’re got a dry floor to stand on!

Small RV Trailers Bathroom - Removable Shower Deck

I’ve done a bit of research and this is what I mean, a shower deck! This one is portable.

Small RV Trailers Bathroom - portable shower deck.

Or you just use a wooden floor mat like these:

travel trailer bathroom dimensions

Slide Out/Fold Down Shower Tray

The most novel approach I’ve seen so far in small travel trailers bathrooms, it these slide our or fold down shower trays.

When you think about it, the shower is somewhere you spend such a small amount of time in, that it seems crazy to dedicate too much space to something that gets used so little. (Am I revealing too much about myself by saying I don’t spend ages in the shower?)

That’s why I think these fold-down, lift-up (the floor) or slide-out (the shower tray) type of showers are so great.

Obviously all these ideas are going to be dependant on your space, budget and what you and your travel companions are going to be comfortable with.

Personally, I would much rather have a full shower, even if I do have to keep it short, than utilizing some of the ideas above. BUT… if having a full shower set up means that I have to work for another five years in order to afford the type of rig that I desire… then give me a cold bucket of water and a flannel, and let’s hit the road now.

What about you? What kind of bathroom will/do you have? Do you have any other novel small RV trailers bathroom ideas?

5 Best Small Travel Trailers with Bathrooms in 2022

By: Author The Drivin' & Vibin' Team

Posted on November 12, 2021

A travel trailer with a bathroom can broaden your options for campsites.

You can boondock in the wilderness, winter camp when facilities are closed, and even use your bathroom at a rest stop on the highway.

Having a toilet and shower onboard can enhance your travel experiences more than you may think.

Let’s take a look at small travel trailers that have bathrooms and their advantages.

Do Small Travel Trailers Have Bathrooms?

You can find some small travel trailers with bathrooms. More and more manufacturers are adding bathrooms to their tiniest floor plans. This is because they’re listening to customers who have been traveling longer, farther, and deeper off the beaten path in recent years.

And these factors make the need for a toilet and shower in your vacation home (or full-time home) on wheels all the more important.

Trailer Wet Versus Dry Bathroom

While small travel trailers with bathrooms exist, there’s still very little square footage. This can make outfitting one with a bathroom challenging, which brings us to a wet bath versus a dry bath.

A wet bath can be the space saver needed to provide the amenity of a bathroom and still have adequate living and sleeping quarters.

A wet bath is when a sink and toilet are in the shower. In other words, they’re all in one contained space. The shower may get the sink and toilet wet when the shower is running.

A dry bath provides a separate shower from the sink and toilet area. The shower is enclosed and functions like one in a traditional house. However, a dry bath offers the convenience of keeping the sink and toilet dry, and the bathroom area is usually larger than a wet bath.

So when you’re shopping for a small travel trailer with a bathroom, it’s good to keep in mind how important a large or dry bathroom is to you versus a space-saving wet bath.

Keep in mind : These are the unfortunate truths of RV wet baths.

What Are the Benefits of a Small Travel Trailer?

A small travel trailer has multiple benefits. For starters, it’s easy to tow, maneuver, and park. Many lightweight options allow you to tow with an SUV. And having a short RV allows you to park nearly anywhere.

National park and state park campgrounds often have size limitations, so a small travel trailer comes in handy.

Is a Bathroom a Necessity?

While a bathroom isn’t always a necessity, it’s nice to have. It’s definitely possible to have a small travel trailer with a bathroom. This can level up your experience when you’re boondocking or in a campground.

Having your own bathroom is more hygienic and efficient. It’s nice to come back from the day’s adventures and clean up in your space without having to walk to a public bathroom.

Is a Small Travel Trailer with a Bathroom Worth It?

We think having a small travel trailer with a bathroom is worth the investment. It gives you more options for campsites that lack public bathrooms and showers.

Having a self-contained camping unit also helps promote leaving no trace when boondocking on public lands. Of course, the downside of adding a bathroom to a travel trailer is that the cost increases. But in the end, we think you’ll be happy with a toilet and shower.

Do you prefer a dry bath or a wet bath?

Design or Customize Your RV Wet Bath

By avalonrvcenter

Every RVer likes to do things a little differently. Some cook outside for every meal possible, some delight in making full use of their indoor kitchen. Some have dogs, some have cats, some have kids. Some RV solo, enjoying the freedom to take comfortable solitude with them all over the country. But there’s one thing that every single RV adventurer should be particular about, your bathroom design and RV wet bath.

The way you design your RV bathroom will have a serious impact on how you experience and enjoy your adventures. Do you tend to get really muddy? Then a larger shower or even a small tub might be appropriate. Do you like your space, or are you cool with cabinet-sized efficiency? Today, we’re here to talk about not just what’s available, but how to design an RV wet bath that is efficient, comfortable, and suits all your personal needs for self-care on the road.

There are a surprising number of ways to build custom a travel bathroom for your RV or travel trailer, from a chemical toilet stashed in a cabinet to complete luxury bathrooms with a full-sized tub. You can build a luxury bathroom that looks like a tiny slice of a hotel, a camp bathroom with minimal features, and everything in between. However, by far the most popular (and efficient) solution for an RV bathroom is your classic wet bath design.

What is an RV Wet Bath?

For first-time RVers who aren’t familiar with them, an RV wet bath is an all-in-one bathroom compartment. It is the size of a tidy toilet stall with a little sink for hand washing and tooth brushing that also includes a showerhead and a drain in the floor. Slightly larger designs might feature an extra two or three feet for a separate shower with the option to use the entire space. In other words, everything gets wet. Hence the title of wet bath.

Camper Van or RV Bathroom With Shower and Toilet

The idea is that since some people will need space to shower, you might as well make a bathroom that can handle being soaked and cleaned a million times over. This way, you don’t have to worry about splashes, mess, or damaging anything. Everything is a wet bath is made of plastic or other water-resistant materials and in many, the features are designed to be multi-purpose or fold up into the wall for more room.

What you may not know is that not all wet baths are created equal. Some are significantly better than others and it’s all about the feature design. How comfortable the shower is, and how easy it is to dry your bathroom out after a shower, will depend on the quality of your fixtures. Choose wisely for a comfortable wet bath experience in your RV or travel trailer.

Temperature and Pressure Knobs

Most home showers have a knob that only controls temperature, while pressure is determined by local plumbing and the showerhead. In a travel shower, however, having a pressure knob is incredibly useful. In combination with your shower head, a pressure valve can help you carefully balance comfort with water use. Lower pressure showers use less water per second while higher pressure will help to blast off grit and soap.

A pressure knob next to your temp knob (or a 2-in-1) will allow you to decide exactly how much water to use, allowing you to conserve when running of your tank or luxuriate when connected to a water hook-up.

Toilet Paper Cover

In a wet bath, everything can potentially get soaked no matter how far it may seem to be from the showerhead. Even if you have a little shower stall and a curtain, it’s best to protect your toilet paper to avoid the risk of a uselessly soggy roll. In all well-designed wet baths, your toilet paper holder should come with a cover that effectively seals shut or at least provides a protective ‘hutch’ for your toilet paper so that the water rolls harmlessly over it without soaking the paper itself.

Fortunately, toilet paper covers are easy to install even if you find a great deal for a wet-bath RV or trailer that doesn’t have one yet. Or if you discover your shower more enthusiastically than your bathroom design allows for.

Fold-Out Sink

One of the biggest challenges in an RV or trailer wet-bath is the sink. Most RV owners don’t want to waste another two feet of bathroom space on standing room for their sink but you still need somewhere to wash hands, shave, and brush teeth. Many RVs feature a microscopic sink that could double as a soap dish for your shower, but there’s a better option.

Fold-out sinks set the basin into the wall, often right above the toilet to take up the minimum amount of space. This allows you to have a reasonably sized basin and even a medicine cabinet/mirror without sacrificing the standing room you need for a comfortable shower.

Wood Slat Floor

Finally, there’s the wet floor conundrum. After your RV shower, everything is damp including the floor. A drain in the floor prevents puddles but for comfortable feet and little to no risk of slipping, accept no substitute for a  wood slat floor . These are removable square or rectangular bathmats made of wood or bamboo that allow water through and create a half-inch of space between you and slippery plastic.

A removable wood slat floor not only dries faster than plastic, but you can also set one out in the sun for a quick-dry or even keep a spare for an instant dry bathroom floor after a shower.

An enjoyable RV or travel trailer bathroom is all about balancing function and comfort. You need enough space to move around in and all the right features for a complete morning, evening, and post-hiking cleanup routine. These features, all of which can be installed post-manufacture, are great ways to balance the classic wet bath design. Maintenance and Storage of Small Travel Trailers

Keeping your small travel trailer in excellent condition is essential for ensuring the longevity of your investment. Here are some maintenance and storage tips:

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the interior and exterior of your trailer regularly to prevent dirt and grime buildup. Pay special attention to the bathroom area to maintain hygiene;
  • Inspect and Repair: Regularly inspect the trailer’s components, including the bathroom fixtures, plumbing, and electrical systems. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage;
  • Winterizing: If you live in an area with cold winters, it’s crucial to winterize your trailer. This process involves draining the water systems, adding antifreeze, and protecting the exterior from harsh weather conditions;
  • Proper Storage: When not in use, store your small travel trailer in a covered or enclosed area to protect it from the elements. If covered storage isn’t available, consider investing in a quality trailer cover;
  • Tire Maintenance: Check the tire pressure regularly and ensure they are in good condition. Rotate the tires as recommended by the manufacturer to promote even wear.

small travel trailers with bathrooms offer an excellent balance of size, convenience, and comfort for travelers seeking adventure on the open road. With a wide range of models available, each boasting its own unique features, there is undoubtedly a small travel trailer that will suit your needs and preferences. By properly maintaining and storing your trailer, you can ensure that it remains in excellent condition for many memorable trips to come.

It is not recommended to use the bathroom while the trailer is in motion due to safety concerns. It’s best to use rest stops or designated facilities along the way.

Most small travel trailers with bathrooms have holding tanks for both black (waste) and gray (used water) tanks. These tanks need to be emptied at designated dump stations or RV parks with appropriate facilities.

While small travel trailers can accommodate families, it’s important to consider the available space and sleeping arrangements. Some models may have limited sleeping capacity, so it’s crucial to choose one that suits your family’s needs.

Depending on the trailer’s design and structure, some customization may be possible. However, it’s essential to consult with the manufacturer or a professional to ensure modifications are safe and won’t void any warranties.

Some small travel trailers are designed with off-grid capabilities, including self-sustaining power systems and water storage. However, it’s essential to check the specifications of each model to ensure it meets your off-grid camping requirements.

Maximizing Your RV Bathroom Storage Space

It’s no big secret that finding storage space for your RV bathroom can be a daunting task. When it comes to maximizing space, and getting things better organized, think outside the box. Go vertical. Find a storage solution for every nook and cranny of available space.

The main goal is to not only make the most of the space you DO have, but to also make your home-away-from-home just a little more comfortable for you and your family.

We hope the tips listed below spark your creative mind and inspire you to get in your RV bathroom and start organizing.

To keep your RV neat and tidy for the weekend, or longer, having a place to keep your dirty clothes is a must. Not only do these compact clothes hampers or laundry bags save much needed space, but they also keep your clothes in one place saving time when unloading the camper. The harder task is going to be getting everyone on-board to the idea of putting their clothes in them, and not on the floor.

We use a hamper like the one pictured below in our travel trailer. It fits perfectly in the small space between the shower and the wall in our RV bathroom.

Installing a curved shower rod like the one pictured below can help give you the feeling of a bigger shower. The added elbow room will keep shower curtain from sticking to your wet body as you try to wash the day away.

curved shower rod

In our camper, we have a curved shower door that creates a wide-open space for showering. In our bathroom at home, we made sure to install a curved shower rod for the same reason.

With the increased size of your shower, a suction cup shower caddy can help increase the storage space in your RV bathroom. Another great choice for storage space is a bathroom organizer that hangs on the dry side of the shower curtain.

shower caddy for maximizing storage space in rv bathroom

Think of it in terms of a makeshift storage cabinet that you can hang on outside your shower.

Another great option for your toiletries is a portable mesh shower tote . In addition to being able to hang in the shower, they are also great when you want to use the campground showers or bathhouses instead of filling up your RV waste tanks.

Making the most of the vertical wall space in your RV bathroom is a great way to maximize storage space. Try hanging toothbrush holders or other RV bathroom organizers on the wall next to the sink. Not only does this give you extra storage space, but it also frees up much needed space on your bathroom vanity.

wall mounted toothbrush holder

Command hooks are another RV bathroom must-have when it comes to using wall space to maximize storage space.

If you prefer to have your toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc., on the countertop, options are available for these as well.

If you are a weekend RVer, there is no need to stuff those large bottles of shampoos and conditioners into your tiny bathroom. To maximize the storage space in your RV bathroom, try looking at the travel section of your local supermarket or department store.

If you can’t find the brand names you are used to using, try filling these small silicon travel bottles with your favorite products and refilling them when needed.

silicon travel bottles

In addition to the hair care products, the travel section also has a variety of travel size lotions, cotton swabs, soaps, and deodorants. These smaller products take less space to store in your RV bathroom cabinets and, as a result, are guaranteed to increase you storage space.

These travel sized items fit nicely in your medicine cabinet or tucked neatly in one of the shower caddies listed above.

We not only use these in our camper, but in our home as well. These simple over-the-door hooks are a great space-saving hack to store your towels.

The over-the-door towels racks pictured below are a great choice if the door hooks do not suit your needs. Make sure you measure your RV bathroom door to make sure one like this will fit. Another option is the Command shower hook.

Not only do small bins help maximize your cabinet storage space, but they also help keep your RV bathroom more organized. By keeping certain items grouped together in these small plastic bins, you will be able to find what you need, when you need it.

plastic bins maximize rv bathroom storage space

With a small vanity you might be extremely limited for extra space under your RV bathroom sink. In fact, our under-sink storage is just big enough to store a few extra rolls of TP and maybe some black tank sanitizer.

However, if you do have room under your sink, consider putting plastic drawer organizers in the cabinet for extra storage.

A must-have RV bathroom accessory is a small trash can with a lid. If you don’t flush your toilet paper when camping, the lid is a huge must-have. Many RVers will not flush their paper to avoid the dreaded black tank clog. Hey, it happens…

This slim plastic trash can with lid will fit into any size RV bathroom and is available in white, green, and gray. In addition, this trash can is equipped with a built-in toilet brush to save even more space in your RV bathroom.

A medicine cabinet organizer will not only help keep your things organized, but it will also keep your things secured on travel days. How many times have you popped open the medicine cabinet in your RV bathroom just to have half of everything stored in there come tumbling out into the sink?

At the end of the day, maximizing the storage space in your RV bathroom doesn’t have to be complicated. By using a few of the tips listed above and thinking outside the box, you will be well organized and will be using ALL available space in your RV bathroom.

We hope this list helps you with your RV bathroom storage needs. Do you have any storage and organization tips to add? If so, we would love to hear from you. Drop us a comment in the section below and let us know…

The Best Small Camping Trailers With Bathrooms

9 Awesome Small Camping Trailers With Bathrooms

Aaron Richardson

  • Last Updated: February 29, 2024
  • 28 minutes read

These days more and more RV manufacturers are answering the demand to put a truly functional bathroom in campers.

This includes the kind of small lightweight campers that couples and small families enjoy.

This has had the strange effect of flooding the market with models, some of which are geared for specific interests. It can make it hard to find exactly which one is right for you.

Are you wondering what’s the best small camping trailer with a bathroom?

If so, you might want to start looking at the Micro Minnie By Winnebago or the 2019 Airstream Sport 22FB. Both are lightweight while still having the bathroom amenities that most traveling couples and small families need. If you’re the kind of person who likes to boondock off the grid, the large fresh and wastewater storage tanks of the 2020 Forest River R-Pod RP 171 might make it the best small camper with bathrooms for you.

If you feel like you’re lost in what has suddenly become a flooded market full of small campers with a toilet & shower, have no fear.

We’ve rolled up our sleeves to weed out some of the best small travel trailers and campers with bathrooms for you to consider.

Why A Small Camper With A Bathroom Is A Good Idea

Why A Small Camper With A Bathroom Is A Good Idea

Small campers and travel trailers have several advantages over their bigger brothers. They tend to be lighter, which makes them much easier to tow.

This is especially nice if your daily driver is an SUV with a tow package. Of course, the reduced weight also translates into better fuel economy.

Small campers also tend to be much easier to reverse, as they fit better inside the frame of your side mirrors.

Some are small enough that the driver can back them into even a tight campsite without needing a spotter.

Small travel trailer campers also tend to have a smaller footprint once they are parked up at their site. This can be a major benefit in an RV park with small campsites or pads.

You can deftly park the camper to make the most out of your outdoor space. With the addition of a screen tent or a popup pavilion you can really spread out, while other large travel trailers can’t.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that a small travel trailer camper takes up less space in your driveway or yard. Leaving you more room to park your vehicles.

When it comes to small travel trailers with a bathroom, there is a lot of room for making tradeoffs.

Sure everyone wants a complete bathroom with a sink, flushing toilet and a complete shower.

However, all these plumbing fixtures and the storage tanks you need to support them take up a lot of space, as well as add to the overall gross vehicle weight rating.

Some RV manufacturers get around this by installing a cassette toilet, or a marine toilet which takes up less space. Other’s compensate with things like an outdoor shower, or a wet bath.

This way you save space and weight while still having the basic bathroom features you need.

20 Best Small Camper Trailers with Bathrooms: 2024 Models

Best small camper trailers with bathrooms

Sharing is caring!

Finding small camper trailers with bathrooms can be a bit challenging. Less space means some things have to go, and more often than not, it’s the bathroom.

You might be surprised to know that the very first campers were created with bathrooms way back in 1910. The first motorhome, made from a 3-ton Packard truck, was 28 feet long and 6.5 feet wide and could sleep 11. It also boasted an ice box, a toilet, and a “salon,” making it the very first motorhome.

I’m sure camper bathrooms have come a long way since that first one was built. Nowadays, it’s easy to find larger trailers with luxurious bathrooms but many smaller campers don’t have any bathroom amenities.

In fact, the smaller they are, the less likely they are to have a toilet and even less likely a shower. However, small camper trailers with bathrooms are out there and worth looking at if you are in the market for a smaller camper.

Read on to check out these 20 best small camper trailers with bathrooms.

Do You Really Need a Bathroom in A Small Camper Trailer?

Speaking from experience, there is nothing better than having your own bathroom in your travel trailer. You don’t have to get dressed, put on your shoes, grab your flashlight, and wake everyone else up just to answer the call of nature. If your dog must answer the call, you are out of luck.

Even with small camper trailers with bathrooms, you still don’t have to use the campground facilities which are likely not very convenient and could be sort of gross. I haven’t been to too many places that had well-maintained bathrooms and showers.

Some might be clean, but they are also very old and worn. Of course, shower shoes are a must and I’ve even been to some that lacked even a place to hang your clothes and towel.

If you like to boondock, small camper trailers with bathrooms make going off-grid fun and easy.

Check out our video below featuring Campers under 20′ with bathrooms!

Wet Bath VS Dry Bath

Wet baths are just how they sound. These common small camper bathrooms have a toilet and a sink in the same space and don’t have a dedicated shower space.

You will also find a hose/showerhead that you can use sitting down or standing up. They are usually found in very small travel trailers such as teardrops, camper vans, and pickup campers.

The question comes up regarding how you keep your toilet paper dry in a wet bath. There are watertight dispensers available, or you can just leave the TP outside when you take a shower.

Dry baths are your traditional RV bathrooms with a shower separated from the other bathroom area.

How Much Do Small Camper Trailers with Bathrooms Cost?

You can find small camper trailers with bathrooms starting at around $20,000 MSRP. You would think that models with wet baths should be cheaper than ones with a full bathroom but that is not always the case.

For example, the Riverside Retro 135 and KZ Sportsmen Classic have a fully separate shower and are priced at around $20,000.

The Scamp 13 comes in around $20,000, with a wet bath, as well as The Little Guy Mini Max, which is priced at around $25,000.

The most expensive model on our list, the Airstream Basecamp REI, is priced around $53,000 and has a wet bath.

Dry bath models include the Jayco Jay Feather 166FBS, priced at around $37,000, and also the Wildwood FSX, right around $21,000.

What is the Smallest Camper Trailer with a Bathroom?

At just 13 feet long, the Scamp 13 is the smallest trailer on the list with a bathroom. It has a wet bath but it’s still a bathroom and in a 13′ trailer, that’s pretty impressive!

Small Camper Trailer Bathroom vs Portable Toilet

There are other choices to consider when you are looking for a trailer. If you don’t have a bathroom you can also consider the option of a portable toilet.

Portable toilets can include a cassette toilet in which the waste is dumped into a 5-gallon cassette, which is then emptied at a dump station.

A cassette toilet will usually hold about 50 small flushes and generally needs to be dumped every few days. The waste and chemicals do smell when dumped.

Composting toilets are also portable and do require some maintenance. These usually require a power source, as well. The waste is treated with a biological process, which leads to the decomposition of organic matter and turns the waste into a compost-like material.

Composting is carried out by microorganisms under controlled aerobic conditions. If the toilet is maintained, this option should not smell. However, it needs to be emptied about once a month, of course, depending on how often they are used.

These are options for a trailer without a bathroom, but you won’t have a shower or sink.

Final Thoughts About Small Camper Trailers with Bathrooms

Small camper trailers with bathrooms are great for first-time RVers or for those who want something that is easy to tow. Families can also get along well with these small campers.

Manufacturers have certainly answered the call and stepped up their game with small camper trailers that have bathrooms and many other awesome amenities. Don’t forget to do your research to find just the right small camper for you.

Even a slightly used one could have everything you want and need, including that coveted bathroom, and be just what you are looking for.

Small campers may have less space. However, the adventures are just as big! Getting out there is the important thing, and doing so with your own bathroom is going to make your trip that much better.

Explore 12 Amazing 30-Foot Travel Trailer Floor Plans

Travel Trailer with 30-Foot Floor Plan

While smaller travel trailers, like 24-foot and 26-foot options, offer many advantages, including easier towability, lighter weights, and better maneuverability, they often lack interior space and have fewer amenities.

Which is where larger more well-equipped travel trailers come in.

As larger travel trailers offer more interior space as well as creature comforts.

The issue though is that this extra interior space and comfort comes at a cost, namely, weight and size.

Which not only requires a more robust tow vehicle but also makes pulling the trailer much more challenging.

The good news though is that there’s actually a travel trailer size that bridges the gap between the smallest and largest travel trailers .

Offering the best of both worlds, which is the 30-foot travel trailer,

As the 30-foot travel trailer provides more interior space and amenities compared to the smallest travel trailers, while at the same time keeping the overall size and weight reasonable .

With so many travel trailers on the market today though, it can be challenging to find 30-foot options.

So we created this blog post, which highlights 12 of the most popular 30-foot travel trailer floor plans available .

Popular 30-Foot Travel Trailer Floor Plans (Least to Most Expensive)

Here are some of the best and most popular 30ft travel trailer floorplans, listed from least to most expensive.

KZ RV Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE Floor Plan

  • Length : 30 Feet 11 Inches
  • Dry Weight : 5,710 Pounds

A similar 30-foot travel trailer to the above Coachmen Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS is the KZ RV Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE.

Upon closer inspection, however, a few key differences do emerge.

For starters, the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers an outdoor kitchen with a sink, griddle, and fridge, while the Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS offers no outdoor kitchen.

The second difference between these two campers is the size of their awnings because while the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers a 19-foot awning, the Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS only offers a 15-foot awning.

This means that the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers an extra four feet of covered space outside, which comes in handy on those hot or rainy camp days.

As the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers a single entrance into the front bedroom, while the Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS offers dual entrances on either side of the built-in entertainment center.

And finally, because of the larger peninsula offered on the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE, the trailer provides slightly more counter space compared to the Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS.

However, the Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS offers a larger pantry, so both trailers have advantages.

30 Small Campers With Bathrooms: No More Annoying Trips To The Toilets!

By Kelly Beasley

Small campers with bathrooms are highly sought after in the RV world.

This is because small campers are easier to deal with when driving and maneuvering. But there are fewer of them in the market AND not all small campers have a bathroom.

Some have zero bathroom amenities, while others might lack a shower.

But the smaller they are, usually the less likely they are to have a toilet and even less likely a shower.

But small RVs with bathrooms do exist! And you just found a big list of the smallest RV with bathroom facilities.

You'll find tiny campers with bathroom facilities in this list, all under 19 feet in length.

All of them DO include a shower and a toilet.

Let's have a look!

What Is A Wet Bath VS Dry Bath?

First, understand that RVs come with what is referred to as a wet bath or a dry bath.

Here's the difference:

A dry bath means that the toilet is separate from the shower area.

When you shower, the toilet and bathroom walls don't get wet, just like any home bathroom.

A wet bath means the entire bathroom is waterproof and is designed to get wet when you shower, including the toilet.

Some people HATE this and won't get a wet bath, but others are fine with it.

A wet bath is small and designed to save space, so it's often what is found in small trailers with bathrooms.

30 Small Campers With Bathrooms

Without further ado, let's look at 30 great small camper trailers with bathroom facilities!

(Note: some of these are not made anymore but can be found in the used marketplace.)

Keep in mind many of these have multiple floorplans.

So if you don't like what is pictured, there might be other layouts or even other models in the line (some are mentioned here) that are still 19 feet long or under and have bathrooms.

Bigfoot B17FB

Length: 17 feet 5 inches

Weight: 3360 pounds

The Bigfoot is a coveted fiberglass travel trailer, made from two molds of fiberglass, much like the Casita and Scamp.

This build type lasts a lifetime when properly maintained. They hold their value better than most RVs.

It offers one floorplan with 4 different interior colors.

If you don't like the 'rat fur' on the walls of the Casita or Scamp, you don't have that in a Bigfoot.

Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E15 TB

Length: 16 feet 4 inches

Weight: 2667

The Forest River E-Pro series also has a larger version with a bathroom, the E16BH (19 feet long), which has a dry bath instead of the wet bath featured in the E15.

The dinette can sleep as either two twin beds or as a king-sized bed! Amazing for such a small trailer.

We like the solid entry step and the exterior storage that's hefty for the size of this trailer.

However, there's no counter space aside from the dinette table.

You can get this one with a bike rack on the front.

Forest River Wolf Pup 14CC

Length: 19 feet 3 inches

Weight: 2884 pounds

We love the rear entry design, which is rare in travel trailers.

This one has all the amenities you need for a fantastic camping trip, including a decent cargo-carrying capacity of just over 1,000 pounds so you can bring lots with you to the campground.

It's a good layout with a dry bath and good counter space for the size of the unit.

Little Guy Mini Max

Length: 17 feet 2 inches

Weight: 2,320 pounds

This is one of the teardrop travel trailers people love as it has everything inside (no outdoor kitchen) and a full bathroom.

It's very short at 17 feet 2 inches long, so that you can take it about anywhere. The teardrop shape makes it easy to tow and light on the MPG. Additionally, it's a very similar layout to the E-Pro above, but this is not as tall, so it's better for fitting inside a garage.

The E-Pro is 10 feet 6 inches, and this one is only 8 feet 11 inches to 9 feet 1 inch tall.

Jayco Hummingbird Series

Length: 19 feel 1 inch

Weight: 2,890 pounds

Jayco offers three floorplans with bathrooms in this series (four, if you go back to 2020 ).

Jayco as a brand is well-known, though it's not on our top list of manufacturers (Not many are!).

If you don't want a slide-out, look for a used 16MRB. That one doesn't show up in their current brochure, but it does on their website.

The other three have a slide. Slides are a personal preference .

Be aware that if you have a slide, you may not be able to access the bathroom or refrigerator while on the way to your destination without putting out the slide.

Airstream Bambi Series 16RB and 19CB

Length: 16 feet and 19 feet

Weight: 3,000 and 3,650 pounds

Dry bath (16) and Wet bath (19)

Airstream is pretty much a household name, and their compact trailers are sure nice looking!

If you can afford one, they are sweet inside and out. These two are no exception. ( How much are Airstream trailers? )

Be prepared not to want ever to get it scratched, though.

Best to NOT get one if you want to keep it pristine, but you like to camp in densely treed areas where it can get pretty scratched up.

Forest River Rpod Series 153 and 171

Length: 17 feet 6 inches and 19 inches

Weight: 3159 and 2,714 pounds

Dry Bath (153) and Wet bath (171)

The Forest River R-Pod is a pretty popular and well-known name for making small trailers.

Strange that the smaller of these two weighs more and has a wet bath, whereas the larger weighs less and has a wet bath.

But stranger things have happened. Though WE aren't crazy about the floorplans of these two, you might love them!

Casita Travel Trailers

"Freedom" floorplan

Length: 17 feet

Weight: 2210 - 2480 pounds

Wet bath (all models)

Casita camp trailers comes in many floorplans, but the size and shape don't change.

It's a 17-foot molded fiberglass travel trailer that is always in high demand, and some units are ordered without bathrooms.

So either order a new one with a bathroom or look for used units that include a floor plan with the bathroom option.

Also, expect over a year wait for yours to be completed and delivered.

Escape E14 Hatch

Length: 18 feet 1 inch

Weight: 2770 pounds

This is essentially a toy hauler ... either you can use it to haul some of your recreation toys, or you can enjoy opening the back to make the inside of your small travel trailer seem more like an outdoor room!

Strange kitchen layout- there's a pretty substantial counter space area, but you cannot get to it.

You can use it for storage, but don't expect to be able to do any food prep there.

Pretty unique camper, otherwise.

Forest River Rockwood High Wall Series

Length: 17 feet 3 inches

Weight: 2,204 pounds

The Forest River Rockwall high wall series is a pop-up trailer with tent-like sides, so scroll on if this isn't your thing.

The nice thing about it is the 'windows' do make it feel more like you're outside when you're inside.

It's also very easy to store inside a garage and pull with an SUV due to its lightweight nature.

This is not a trailer you should use in extreme temperatures.

Length: 17 feet 8 inches

Weight: 2640 pounds

This is the second fiberglass molded trailer on our list.

These are also coveted, just like Casitas are. This trailer will cost you, but it will also last much longer than most traditionally built trailers.

It's one of the best small camping trailers money can buy.

It offers three different floorplans and also a contemporary white color inside.

Riverside RV Retro 135

Length: 15 feet 9 inches

Talk about a shorty! If you're looking for a VERY short trailer with a DRY BATH, this is it! At 15 feet 9 inches exterior length, you'll hardly realize you're towing.

This one even has a decent-sized freshwater tank at 36 gallons.

They also have the 165 with a bathroom, which is still well under 20 feet long.

Aliner Somerset Utah

Length: 18 feet 9 inches

Weight: 2760 pounds

Here's another pop-up tent camper, so keep scrolling if that's not what you want.

This type is harder to manage the interior temperature than most others in this list due to the canvas walls.

But it has plenty of amenities like a stove, water tank, and a queen-size bed, so you'll have the regular comforts of a small camper with a bathroom you need in a trailer you can park in your garage.

Happier Camper Traveler

Weight: 1800 pounds

The Happier Camper is a modular mini camper with a bathroom.

It comes with boxes that you can move around to make a dinette, office area, or bed in just minutes.

This might not be the most ideal for some, but for others, it's perfect. That decision is yours.

It's also a molded fiberglass camper , so it will outlast many of its fellow campers out there.

This is a quality product perfect for the right type of camper.

Safari Condo R1713

Weight: 1825 pounds

Talk about a unique small RV with a bathroom! This one 'pops up' but is hard-sided all around, featuring windows almost 360 degrees around the camper.

A wet bath is an option, so realize that it might only have a toilet if you're looking for a used example.

This fits better inside a garage than traditional RVs, so if that's a feature you want, this fits the bill but is better than a soft-sided pop-up.

Safari Condo is a Canadian company, and there is a long wait if you order a new one.

Nucamp Tab 320 S

Length: 15 feet 3 inches

Weight: 1946 pounds

If you want tiny, here you go! This adventure camper is only 15 feet 3 inches long on the outside, one of the smallest on our list.

It's a teardrop camper with a tiny kitchen featuring a refrigerator and stovetop but no microwave. You can sleep with it as one big bed or two twin beds.

It's cute, agile, and might be the perfect small trailer with bathroom facilities for you, especially if you want to store it in your garage.

This one is only 8 feet tall! That also means the interior height is shorter- only 5 feet 7 inches at the highest point inside, so this trailer is better for shorter folks.

Venture RV Sonic Lite SL150VRB

Length: 19 feet 11 inches

Weight: 3,160 pounds

This is the longest on the list and is the first small camper trailer with bathroom facilities with a murphy bed.

A Murphy bed is a bed that pulls down for use and pops up into the wall when not in use, and the area reverts back into a couch.

It's a good idea to use all the space in a small area, but if you aren't into making the bed every day, this may not be your jam.

Otherwise, the bathroom is quite large for the camper, including spacious bathroom closets and a walk-in shower.

Barefoot Caravans

Length: 16 feet 6 inches

Weight: 2116 pounds

You either buy this one used or you're shipping one from the UK!

But they are so cool and well-made, we had to include them.

(Note that nuCamp has released a US version .)

They are fiberglass 'egg' trailers that won't leak or rot like so many traditionally-made trailers will without lots of care.

The inside features a modern, clean design with a good amount of storage. If you're lucky enough to find one and are able to afford it, enjoy!

16 Foot Scamp

Length: 16 feet

Weight: 1750 pounds

Scamp makes a fiberglass 'egg' trailer and they are iconic.

Owners are usually hardcore fans and don't give them up. The fiberglass 2-piece shell makes for an almost indestructible trailer that will probably outlast you.

They offer 7 floorplans with this size, and the dry weight depends on which options are on the trailer. 1750 is the lightest.

They come with a fridge, 2 sinks, and can likely be pulled with a small truck or SUV.

It's one of the smallest RV with shower facilities that you can find.

13 Foot Scamp

Length: 13 feet

Weight: 1200+ pounds

Here's a smaller version of the Scamp we talked about above. It's a fiberglass 'egg' trailer that should outlive you, barring it being in an accident!

They come in standard and deluxe, with the deluxe having solid oak cabinets.

Not all floorplans have the bathroom, so if buying used, you'll have to look around.

These are highly coveted and hard to find, so if you find one, and know you want it, don't dilly dally around!

Winnebago Micro Minnie 1708FB

Length: 19 feet 4 inches

This is one of the heaviest on our list, but Winnebago does have a good reputation for decent quality, hence the extra weight.

This has no slide, but be prepared to put up and take down the murphy bed daily (unless you decide to keep it a bed full-time).

Airstream Basecamp

Length: 16 feet 2 inches

Weight: 2650 pounds

This little thing sports the classic Airstream aluminum skin and riveted construction.

Inside, it holds a dinette that breaks down into a bed, a sink, stove, wet bath, refrigerator and even a microwave.

This is another trailer on the list that is likely to outlast you if taken care of properly (and there's not much to keeping it in good shape).

It's pricey as it's an Airstream. ( Pros and Cons of an Airstream )

But if you like it and can afford it, it's a great lightweight camper with bathroom facilities.

Trailmanor Series

Length: 18 feet

Weight: 2580+ pounds

This is possibly the most unique small RV trailer with bathroom facilities on our list. It's a hard sided pop up camper , similar to the Safari Condo .

This one opens up and gets longer (25 feet open) but is short for towing.

The purpose is to keep it low for garage storage and it makes it low and easy to tow. It's a pretty ingenious design!

Keep in mind that you can't easily just stop on the side of the road to use the toilet or kitchen with this one.

Airstream Nest

Weight: 3,400 lbs pounds

The Nest was discontinued in 2020 , so there are a limited number of them on the streets as they were released in 2018, just under three years of production.

It's Airstream's fiberglass-shell trailer.

You'll find everything you need for a weekend camping trip (or for full-time RV life! We know people who have full-timed in a Nest).

It's a bit of a head-turner, so expect people to ask to see inside when you're at the campground.

Jayco Jayflight 145RB

Weight: 2330 pounds

What a cutie! It's impressive how many amenities manufacturers fit inside these small camping trailers with bathrooms.

And it's even a dry bath!

With the window-style side mount AC, the trailer is shorter than others in its class. Counter space is more plentiful in this one than most in this list.

The windows are also plentiful, giving it a spacious, non cave-like feel inside. It even has a tiny bathtub!

Coachmen Apex 15T

Not the actual 15T, but a (longer) Coachmen Apex

Length: 18 feet 7 inches

Weight: 2862 pounds

This one may feel a little tight inside but it SLEEPS FOUR!!

Yes, it has two bunks, so it's probably better for kids than adults. It has a bike rack (or the ability to have one) on the front.

The main bed makes into a sofa for day use.

It's pre-wired for solar and it has outdoor speakers, a power awning, microwave, and an outdoor camp stove.

It even has a dry bath, amazingly.

This is not a camper you'd want to spend a lot of time inside during the day (Who wants that anyway?) but if you need small AND you have kids, this works out very well. Have a look.

inTech Sol: Dawn, Eclipse, and Horizon

Length: 16, 17, 19 feet

Weight: 2650 - 3230 pounds

Here's another high-quality product from an independently-owned manufacturer, inTech RV.

They offer three trailers with bathrooms 19 feet and under that are VERY contemporary looking compared to the industry standard.

Build with an aluminum cage, they are not going to fall apart anytime soon.

They are also light and modern-looking.  They don't mass-produce these trailers, so if you want to order one, anticipate a long wait.

But if you want a well-made, good looking camper with a bathroom that also looks good, check out inTech.

Sundowner Trail Blazer Series

Length: 16 feet - 18 feet 8 inches

Sundowner sells horse trailers but they also sell campers.

In their Sundowner series, they have the 1669, 1686, and 1869.

All three are 19 feet and under in length.

Their interiors are surprisingly spacious and well thought-out. Windows aren't at a premium on these, but if you don't care, great!

If there's a dealer near you, go check them out.

Travel Lite Rove Lite

Length: 15 feet 4 inches

Weight: 1498+ pounds

The Travel Lite comes in three floorplans. This is one of the shortest trailers on our list.

Their 14BH has a travel trailer bunk bed mattress so you can sleep four, though the bunk floorplan has the least amount of counter space.

The other two sleep two so it just depends on which you like the best as far as the floorplan.

Coachmen Viking 16SFB

Length: 18 feet 6 inches

Weight: 2783 pounds

We're not especially impressed with the quality of this one, but the price does reflect the materials used for this little trailer.

It's not the smallest camper with bathroom facilities on our list, but it does qualify! It does have great storage space for the size of the trailer.

And the price is a low one compared to the others, so this is a good budget pick if you're looking at small travel trailers with bathroom facilities.

So, do you think these are the 30 best small campers with bathroom facilities?

There's something here for you, and if not, let us know what you found otherwise in the comments.

Remember, these are all 19 feet long and shorter.

Happy camping!

I dedicated myself to living the full-time RV life for over 6.5 years, immersing myself in the unique quirks and joys of the boondocking lifestyle and gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way. In December 2020, my business partner and I made the transition to part-time RVing, but in January 2023, we hit the road once again, this time in our trusty vans. My mission is to help others embrace the RVing lifestyle with confidence and excitement, armed with the knowledge and resources needed to make the most of their adventures. I believe that the more you know, the more you can truly appreciate and enjoy the freedom and flexibility of the open road.

Thanks for the information most helpful in navigating what I can pull with bathroom.

Sure thing, Dany! There are others, too. Keep looking!

Great info. What do you think are the three best values for the money (cost relative to quality, features, etc) with no additional value given to a larger size.

Great question! All other things aside, if I factored in best value for the money, I’d go with any of the fiberglass trailers, used. They just don’t fall apart!

They hold their value so well, you often can buy one and sell it years later for just about the same price (or more, depending on the economy) if you kept if in good condition, and maintained it as one should.

So, Scamp, Escape, Bigfoot, and Casita. (Bigfoot is not listed, and now I’m not sure why, as they have a model under 19′ with a bathroom, the B17FB. Maybe I’ll add it in today. We wrote this years ago).

Hope that helps- just my opinion though. Everything is subjective!

Where do you place the 2022 E-Pro 20BHS model

Buying an RV means you must love the layout, among other things. The e-Pro trailers we listed were under 19′. The 20BHS is just fine long as you like the layout, brand, price, etc. If you haven’t already, we suggest getting inside one and hanging out with your family to see how it suits you. Good luck picking!

Another one to add to the list would be the Roulotte ProLite series. They have several models of small campers. Their lightest one that includes a toilet and shower weighs only 1390lbs. I was thinking about getting one, until I decided to get a motorhome instead.
