It was very good - especially with the guide and with the guy responsible for the meals to serve etc.

The food was also good. 3 nights I think, are to short aboard - I believe 4- 5 nights would be better. The highlights of cause were the scenery.

Excellent wildlife adventure

The G Adventures staff were extremely attentive to guest safety and comfort. On each excursion, we saw wildlife up-close and learned about their evolution and habitat. It was beyond exciting to see these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. The baby sea lions were my favorite.

  • 8.8 Fabulous

Excellent guide and overall experience of the Galapagos

Snorkeling with penguins, seal lions and sea turtles.

Amazing experience in Galapagos

We saw many animals very closely, both on the ground and in the sea. The itinerary was very well planned, and the guide was excellent. The group was great too, nobody created any trouble and everyone was willing to help each other.

  • 8.0 Very good

incredible animal encounters.

Great animal sightings on land and in the water. Enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable guide and crew.

Amazing experience and valued learning about the islands and its inhabitants

Seeing so many different species and learning so much about the islands; the number of bird species viewed and added to my life list; a professional and caring crew who took care of our every need, the rooms were exceptionally clean every day, little details mattered; expert guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the islands and its inhabitants; seeing so much of the archipelago, (we considered doing 2 weeks however I don't think we needed the extra time and would not have added much to the species diversity); we lucked out with an really interesting fellow participants from diverse backgrounds - hopefully made lifelong friends

fantastic cruise around Galapagos islands

Abundance of wildlife on land and whilst snorkelling.

  • 10 Exceptional

Excellent Galapgos tour on Yolita

Yolita II Galapagos Review

Review of yolita ii galapagos.

The 2007-built G Adventures' Yolita 2 ship is a motorized yacht designed for Galapagos Islands passenger shipping. The boat is also among the fastest in Ecuador's Galapagos region.

History - construction and ownership

G Adventures (former "Gap Adventures") is a small group adventure travel cruise company headquartered in Toronto Canada . It offers environmentally and socially sensitive travel on small-sized vessels with some of the best passenger-to-staff ratios. G Adventures Galapagos fleet includes the boats Estrella del Mar , Monserrat , Queen of Galapagos , Xavier 3 , Yolita 2. The 16-passenger cruise ship Yolita II is a luxury yacht with outdoor spaces, comfortable cabins, resident Nature Guide. The vessel (IMO 9546291) is Ecuador- flagged (MMSI number 735058239) and registered in Manta .

Yolita II cruise ship (Galapagos)

Cruise itinerary program

MV Yolita II itinerary program is based on year-round Galapagos Islands cruises leaving out of Ecuador's capital city Quito .

The Yolita II ship has 9 staterooms, all of which are air-conditioned, wood-panelled, carpeted, with ensuite bathrooms, hot water and lower fixed beds.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

Ship's comfortable Dining Room offers fresh and tasty international and local cuisine. Comprehensive breakfast, as well as gourmet Ecuadorian cuisine, is prepared fresh daily. All meals onboard are price-included.

Since January 2019, G Adventures banned single-use plastics on cruise line's Galapagos ships, offering its customers 1 complimentary reusable water bottle per voyage. The decision was made after Galapagos Conservancy announced that since March 2019, non-returnable bottles would be no longer allowed on Galapagos cruises. In May 2018, on all Galapagos ships were banned plastic straws and plastic bags.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

Featuring a large sundeck, comfortable lounge area with flat screen TV for briefings and relax, and a spacious top deck with a bar, the common spaces on Yolita II are as roomy as her staterooms. The social areas also include a Bar and Small Boutique. Beach towels, wetsuits and snorkelling equipment are included at no extra charge. With 7 dedicated crew members and a naturalist guide familiar with local flora and fauna and certified by Galápagos National Park Service, there is always someone available to answer guests' questions.

Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

Upon arrival in Quito, you're met by your private guide and taken to your hotel by private transfer. It usually takes an hour to get there, and your guide will provide you with all the relevant introductory information needed for your trip, such as hotel vouchers. Relax in your hotel after your flight.

El Palacio de Gobierno, Plaza Grande, Quito

Take a private guided walking tour of the highlights of Quito. Your guide shows you the city's highlights, such as colonial temples, monasteries and plazas. They'll also help you unravel the grand architecture of the Church of San Francisco. The tour lasts three hours, ending at a viewpoint over the city. In the afternoon, you're free to keep exploring Quito at leisure. We recommend visiting one of the city's museums, such as the pre-Hispanic art museum Casa del Alabado.

Quito, Ecuador

A private transfer will take you to the airport in time for your two-hour flight to the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, you're met by crew members who will take you to the Yolita II. After being welcomed aboard and given a safety briefing, you'll set sail to Las Bachas, a beautiful beach area, to start your Galapagos experience. You'll begin excursions in the afternoon.

Sea lion, Galapagos Islands

Genovesa Island is a highlight of many Galapagos trips, with the collapsed volcano formation playing host to large populations of frigates and the unforgettable red-footed booby. You'll spend the day walking the paths of Darwin Bay and El Barranco and snorkeling in the sunken caldera.

Turtles sunbathing on Fernandina, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

The cruise continues to Bartolomé Island, where you'll hike to the summit, which offers panoramic views over Pinnacle Rock. Afterwards, you'll experience the volcanic rock of Sullivan Bay, which makes way to a white coral sand beach, home to Sally Lightfoot crabs and sea lions.

Giant Tortoise, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

This morning, visit Isabela Island's tortoise breeding centre to see and learn about the Galapagos tortoise. In the afternoon, you take a guided hike to the top of Sierra Negra Volcano. It's a steep climb, but the views from the crater rim (the second largest in the world) are expansive.

Fernandina, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Continuing up the western coast of Isabela, the ship will stop at Elizabeth Bay for a panga ride to explore the mangroves, spotting sea turtles and penguins along the way. The afternoon will be spent at Urbina Bay, a reef that was raised out of the water from tectonic movement. You can snorkel here and spot land iguanas, sea turtles, rays and flightless cormorants.

Sea lion pups, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

The morning visit to Tagus Cove will allow you to walk this former whaler and pirate shelter, with stunning views of Darwin and Wolf volcanoes in the distance. The afternoon visit to Punta Espinoza will get you up close to the largest marine iguana colony in the Galapagos. The beauty of this remote part of Isabela puts the amazing wildlife into perspective.

Marine Iguana Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Today, you'll visit Rabida Island for a walk along the red sand beaches created by unusually high iron deposits. Sea lions are typically abundant here, and the trails will take you past an interesting lagoon surrounded by palo santo trees. After lunch, you'll be able to relax at Playa Espumilla, one of the Galapagos' most beautiful beaches, with snorkeling options available to explore the coast.

Galapagos Penguins

The trip finishes with a visit to Daphne Island where the blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and finches will wish you farewell. You'll then transfer to the airport in time for your flight back to mainland Ecuador and your connection home.
